Logitech MX Travel Case Now Gives More Focus to Your Mouse | Tech Travel Essentials

Logitech MX Travel Case is a new way for laptop users to travel light but not have to leave the essentials at home. Imagine easily bringing a mouse, wires, and other necessities all packed into a sleek laptop case for easy travel.

Logitech MX Travel Case - Travel Essentials

For those that really enjoy the Logitech mouse, one thing that might seem annoying is having to jam pack everything into a suitcase.

Not only is this very disrupting, it can also be dangerous for the laptop accessories. There has to be a way to travel with a mouse without having to dump it in the bag right?

An article by CultofMac  highlighted the new Logitech MX Travel Case and as the article noted, having a mouse is very important.

Although the touchpad is fine and functionable, it still isn't as efficient as really using a mouse. It is very important that everything remained comfortable and safe when packing in order to easily use the gadgets when needed, and avoid damaging them from mishandling.

Logitech Travel Light

The article noted that the brand new Logitech MX Travel Case will also provide users better housing for their precious pointer, as well as a number of other gear as well.

Basically, there's a whole lot of "Logitech" gizmos that can be packed into the Logitech MX Travel Case.

Logitech was actually able to make the new case out of what seemed like heathered gray felt. This makes it very comfortable and very good at handling the laptop and other inclusions.

Packing a Logitech Travel Case

There will also be velcro closure hands to hold the case shut making it secure despite its easy-to-access function.

Logitech generally described the new case as something that is tough enough for owners to throw in their bag but also sleek enough for them to be a good carry-around on their own.

In addition to the mouse, the new Logitech MX Travel Case is also capable of holding a MacBook charger, cables, and a hard drive. Basically there is extra space for other computer accessories that users might need to bring along.

Logitech MX Travel Case Specs

The travel case measures 7.01" by 2.76" by 5.71."

The Logitech MX Travel Case is also a bit bigger when it comes to the cases it competes with, like the Hermitshell Hard Travel Case. The competition case is also capable of form-fitting a Logitech mouse .

The extra size also means that the case is capable of holding some other productivity essentials just like the MacBook charger, an additional hard drive, a small speaker, various cables and wires, and other accessories. Some internal components should be able to keep the mouse, just like the really useful Logitech MX Master 3, from rattling around.

The Logitech MX Travel Case weighs around 3.28 ounces. Check out more details on the official Logitech website .

Classic and Vertical Aluminum Carry-on Luggage

by Aleon | Jun 14, 2021 | Carry-on , Luggage , Travel

Classic-and-vertical-carry-on-luggage guy and girl having suitcase open from the top for easy access

We went through the best carry-on luggage options, and the most popular one is this classic and vertical aluminum carry-on luggage. This is lightweight and durable luggage that is easy to use and carry. It has a combination lock and a compression board system that lets you pack more items before leaving on your trip. The outside material is made out of scratch-resistant aluminum.

The Best Carry-on Luggage (Classic and Vertical Aluminum)

This is a great aluminum luggage piece with multiple compression boards or pockets for the vertical case. It has 2 large compartments to store all your items needed. With 3 days of travel for messy packers and 4 days for the tidy packers.

The vertical case is a little narrower, but it is designed to get into and out of on the go without letting all your items falling out or having to lay down your aluminum suitcase to get into it. This luggage comes with four wheels, so you can roll it around easily with the push along or trailing behind you.

The handle locks into place for your desired high so that you can secure your bag when you’re walking around. The best part about this carry-on is that it is water-resistant.

This carry-on luggage comes with no zippers and a rubber seal around the inside to ensure water doesn’t get in. This lightweight travel luggage has a solid aluminum frame, so it won’t bend or warp on you, with colors in Silver, Red, Black, Blue, and Bronze.

Classic Carry-On

Why this is the best

It’s simple.

This is the best carry-on luggage on the market today.

This luggage won’t break anytime soon.

The square corners give you.

It’s inexpensive compared to other aluminum alloy brands

It has a two-stage compressive compression system that makes the luggage hold weight very easily.

The material of this carry-on luggage is rugged and comes in 5 different colors.

They save a lot of space when you travel, and they’re also easier to move around and can be a lot more convenient carry-on luggage.

The material is lightweight and durable so that you can bring it with you on all your trips.

It’s durable, with a 10-year worry-free warranty. ALEON prides its self on customer service

The interior is soft and will hold up over the years.

The ALEON 4-wheel system is what sets this luggage apart from others. This luggage bag has a side compression to avoid unwanted pressure on the handle when it is packed.

The lid has 2 TSA-approved locking compartments that are easy to access. The outside material is made out of scratch-resistant aluminum.

The inside of the main compartment has more space for packing and storing your other stuff compared to other 21-inch classic carry-on styles.

How to choose between a Vertical Carry-on and a Classic Carry-on.

A carry-on suitcase can either be vertical or horizontal (classic). That tells you which way it opens.

To compare the two, you need to understand the features you want in your luggage, such as size and features.

A Classic suitcase will have a higher capacity but will be wider and heavier.

The Vertical Carry-on Suitcase will be narrower.

So what one is right for you? It depends on how you travel.

The vertical cases are best suited for always getting into their luggage before getting on the plane.

The main reason why I go with the vertical luggage is- When I have my pockets full, I can easily put my phone keys and wallet into my case as I’m going through security.

I can also easily pull out my tablet and have it in its own bin and close the case up easily. Then when I need my wallet, I can open up the case, grab it, and lock it back up in 2 seconds.

For me, it’s the ease of traveling. Before I sit down, I take what I need out for the trip and put it overhead. The vertical case makes it super easy to travel.

If you want more space with your carry-on, I would recommend staying with the classic. If you still want the best of both worlds, get both and a small vertical case.

It’s stylish with its durable aluminum material that is tough and durable. The wheels are easy to maneuver, and the bag is lightweight and easy to use. It has a wide variety of versatile sizes for any travel. They range from a rolling carry-on to a large checked suitcase , making it perfect for anyone with different packing styles.

The price is another pro, behind half the cost of other brands and adding additional quality to the luggage.

The wheels are now screwed outside, making them stronger than any luggage wheels on the market.

You can not over-pack any of these luggage items like you would softshell luggage. It will not expand, but being so, you won’t ever have to check your bag when they are making everyone check the sizes to ensure no one cheats the seems.

Once you find the best carry-on luggage for you, then you’ll be happy to pack for your upcoming trips. These luggage options are both inexpensive and quality.

Unpack In Seconds

Our unique patented closet has five shelves, a compression strap to maximize storage, and is cleverly weighted to stay balanced when you're using it.

Your Closet, Your Terms

Every trip is different, so we designed the closet to be easily removable. If you need to pack a little extra, plan to go shopping on your trip, or want to hang it from your hotel clothing rack, simply remove it.

Charge On The Fly

Charge your devices without tumbling through your belongings. Just connect your charging cord to the back center of the suitcase, and power up.

Opens in a Pinch

Just one pinch, no zipper wrestling necessary. Equipped with a 3-digit combination lock.

The Strong & Silent Type

Our frictionless wheels make cruising through a busy airport a breeze. They’re game for any terrain (including shag carpet), and will help you swerve around  that guy  who decided to stop in the middle of the terminal.

Bends But Never Breaks

Bends But Never Breaks

The polycarbonate shell is paired with a lightweight aluminum frame, making it virtually indestructible. The ribbed design provides first-line protection against bumps and scrapes. It’s also waterproof, scratch resistant,  is equipped with a TSA-approved lock, and is backed by a lifetime guarantee.

Sleek and chic.

The best travel companion.

Easy carry.

Main squeeze.

Used bag for 18 day trip to Italy. You can put a lot in it and be well organized. Without doing laundry it’s good for seven days. Major complaint- The shell scratches and the finish comes off quite easily. It looked pretty beat up when I got home.

Love the way it closes without a zipper

The luggage is pretty cheap plastic - not good quality for the price.

Wow so easy too use and set up at my destination!!

Just received. Won’t comment until I actually use it.

People love traveling the world with us.

vertical airflow PC case

10 Best Vertical PC Cases for Airflow – 2024

If you’re in search of the best vertical PC case then you’ve come to the right place.

For their ultra-small footprint and extremely space-efficient designs, vertical PC cases have become increasingly popular among enthusiasts.

Generally, these chassis house smaller motherboards and work by vacuuming air up through the center to create a “chimney” effect.

In this post, we will take a look at some of the most innovative vertical cases on the market right now.

What is the best vertical PC case?

10. silverstone fortress ft03b.

The FT03B is a vertical PC case with a low-key minimalistic design. By reducing the chassis depth and increasing the height, it aims to provide as much interior space as possible. The result is a super small footprint chassis that’s still capable of housing full-length, 349mm graphics cards.

One area where the FT03B excels is in its build quality. Four 2.5mm thick, sand-blasted and anodized aluminum panels form the exterior case. These mount over a solid steel body. Depending on which model you go for, the panels are available in a selection of colors. Black, Silver, or Titanium.

To start the build, the panels slide right off to reveal the chassis. You then have room for motherboards up to micro-ATX, 167mm CPU coolers, and a standard ATX power supply. Additionally, there’s room to install three 3.5″ HDDs and one 2.5” SSD on one side of the interior.

For airflow, the FT03B works like a vacuum by sucking in air from the bottom of the case. To propel air upwards, it comes with two 120mm fans, an intake fan at the bottom, and an exhaust fan at the top. There’s also room for a second 120mm fan and three optional 80mm fans from top to bottom.

Front I/O ports include two USB 3.0s, and a 3.5mm audio/ mic jack. This case is also available in mini-ITX form, to make it a similar alternative to the NZXT H1.

9. Spartex Osmi Case 3.1

The Osmi Case 3.1 is a mini-ITX chassis that lets you build as big as a console. It has a vertically aligned cuboid design with soft rounded edges, little noticeable branding, and a large vent on top to provide the main source of ventilation.

To access the 8.6L volume enclosure, this involves the removal of a few screws at the rear of the case. Once removed, it’s then possible to lift off the exterior shell, which covers all four sides of the frame like a big sleeve.

With the shell removed, you can then begin to install your hardware. The Osmi has room for your mobo along the side with a 70mm cooler, a 170mm GPU, and an SFX PSU. Your GPU slots in at the bottom of the case. Hence, why the Osmi has a small stand that allows for airflow from underneath.

To circulate air to the rest of your components, there’s room for a bottom-mounted 140mm fan at the top of the frame. Unfortunately, this isn’t included so you will have to purchase one separately. Once it is installed, it’s best to go for a positive airflow setup that pushes more air into the case.

For storage, there’s room for two 2.5” SSDs behind the mobo, and all I/Os face out of the rear.

Osmi Case 3.1

8. XTIA Xproto

The XTIA Xproto is a unique, open-air chassis that functions as both a showpiece and a sturdy foundation. To achieve this, it has an innovative “butterfly” spine that not only nurtures a clean and minimalistic build but also imposes an awe-inspiring aesthetic.

Due to the simplistic nature of the design, the Xproto comes in a “flat-pack” form upon arrival. You can then experience the satisfaction of building the structure yourself, which simply involves screwing the two halves of the skeleton together.

Once assembly is complete, it’s on to mounting your hardware. From here you can install your ITX motherboard and PSU on the left side, and your graphics card on the right. With the Xproto in a vertical position, both your mobo and GPU face upwards for easy access to the I/O’s from above.

Even though this is a mini-ITX case, it’s still capable of housing the latest, full-length graphics cards. However, due to the feet of the case, the GPU has special length constraints. It can fit a maximum graphics card length of 330mm providing the PCB (of the card) is 315mm or shorter.

All in all, it’s an awesome choice for a vertical open style case. The $125.00 package includes a free PCIe Gen3 riser cable along with a power cord extension cable.

7. SV590 v2

The SV590 v2 is a vertical, skyscraper of a PC case that towers high above the rest. At 18.58″ tall, it makes a name for itself as one of the only small form factor, mini-ITX chassis on the market right now capable of housing three-slot GPUs (up to 390mm), plus 360mm AIO radiators.

Aesthetically, the V2 is available in a choice of different panel colors and vent patterns. For powder-coated finishes, there’s Obsidian Black, Matte White, and Slate Grey. Additionally, for vent patterns, you can choose from vertical sots or the standard hole punch minimalist aesthetic.

When it comes to the design, the SV590 has an “easy-flip” layout that allows you to position it either end up. As the majority of the rear panel is reserved for your AIO radiator, essentially this means you can rotate the chassis 180° to allow for I/O cables to exit at the top or the bottom rear of the case.

Apart from clearance for a full-width AIO cooler at the rear, the rest of the layout is split down the middle vertically. On one side there’s room for an ITX motherboard with a 55mm AIO CPU cooler, and an SFX PSU just below. Whereas the other side is houses for your GPU.

For storage, there’s a massive amount of support for up to fourteen 2.5″ SSD/ HDDs behind the front panel. It’s worth noting that due to the relatively small amount of clearance for your CPU cooler, Sliger recommends not air cooling your CPU if you do decide to go for this case.

6. Silverstone Lucid Mini Tower

The Lucid-AF is a mini-ITX chassis that gleams like an elegant art piece. By combining advanced engineering with precision manufacturing, the majority of the build uses tool-less clips. This lets you appreciate the triple-tempered glass panels on the side of the case with no exposed screws.

Once inside the 36L structure, the motherboard rotates 90 degrees for a vertical orientation. One benefit to this is that air can flow smoothly up from the bottom with no obstructions. The second is that it provides full-size support for GPUs along the side of the chassis.

To help with efficient heat dissipation, two 120mm stock fans come with the deal. These are located at opposite ends of the tower. Both fans work together to provide a vacuum of airflow up through the chassis, with the bottom being the main source for air intake.

At 10.43 x 16.3 x 9.06 inches, the Lucid-AF has a generous size interior for a mini-ITX case. As a result, it can accommodate 190mm CPU coolers, SFX power supply’s up to 130mm in length, and both 2.5” and 3.5” drives. For drives, you can fit either two 2.5″ SSDs, or one SSD and one HDD.

Due to the inversion of the motherboard, all your I/O’s are at the top of the case. Accessing them involves removing the top cover that is held on with the same tool-less clips.

The Velka 7 is a mini-ITX chassis with a sleek, minimalistic design. It has a small form factor size that revises and improves on the original Velka 5 – by introducing support for a larger CPU cooler, larger graphics cards, as well as an SFX power supply.

Constructed with a strong steel frame and a 5mm aluminum front panel, the build quality is especially superb. To achieve its rigidity while maintaining a clean aesthetic, the chassis moves all visible screws to the rear of the case; the place where you will begin the assembly process.

Once inside, there’s room for your motherboard, a 47mm cooler height, and 289mm graphics cards. Besides this, there’s storage for one 3.5” HDD (or SSD) If you have gone for a GPU length that exceeds 212mm. If you haven’t, it’s possible to house three extra SSD drives in that additional space.

Thanks to the vertical orientation and honeycomb-style side panels, this slim PC case offers top-notch ventilation. It allows you to press your graphics card right up to the sides, without having to worry about any unnecessary choking.

All I/O’s are at the rear and it comes with a free riser cable.

Velka 7 vertical PC case

4. ASUS ROG Z11

The ASUS ROG Z11 is a premium, mini-ITX chassis with a sleek and stylish aesthetic. It has a dual-orientation design that allows users to build in either a vertical or horizontal position. Additionally, it comes with an assortment of standout features to maximize utility, flexibility, and connectivity.

Constructed of aluminum, steel, plastic, and glass – the build quality of this case is especially high. The exterior consists of 4mm tempered glass panels on the sides, and plastic vents for ventilation on either end. Layering the front glass is an angular, brushed aluminum panel that has all your I/O’s.

Accessing the large interior is a little complexed, which involves removing the top plastic vent before being able to unscrew the side panels. The side panels then slide down from the top and detach via pegs on the side. Lastly, feet removal can be achieved with a single thumbscrew.

Unique to most other cases out there, the ROG Z11 delivers a patented interior layout that tilts the motherboard tray at an 11° angle (from a top view). This aims to enhance heat dissipation around the CPU while providing additional room for organizing cables behind the motherboard.

Besides the motherboard, there’s room for full-length 320mm GPUs, 130mm cooler heights, and plenty of space for drive bays. For fans, the case includes two pre-installed 140mm top fans and one 140mm at the bottom. There’s also room for two optional 120mm fans in the rear.

The included extension hub is another excellent addition to this case. This provides support for six fans, three ARGB LED strips, and two USBs. Furthermore, the additional front I/O ports (four x USB type-A) offer far more convenience than other cases on the market.

All in all, if you’re an ASUS fanboy who’s looking for a showpiece, you will love this vertical PC case.

3. SSUPD Meshlicious

Meshlicious is a high airflow, small form factor PC case that sits in a vertical position. As the name suggests this enclosure is all about its breathability, where it uses mesh panels to keep your high-end components cool and performing at their best.

The design of the Mesh is very clever and does a great job of utilizing space. Behind the front panel, there’s room for a 62mm thick, 280mm AIO radiator. Then further behind that is the motherboard tray which also functions as a divider to split up the CPU/ GPU sides of the case.

On the CPU side, there’s room for your ITX motherboard (with a 73mm cooler), three 2.5” SSD’s, and a power supply unit. The case is large enough to house an ATX PSU, however, it’s probably best to go for an SFX unit so you can effectively manage your cables.

Conversely, on the GPU side, it’s possible to mount full-length 334mm graphics cards vertically or  211mm GPUs horizontally without the front radiator. If you decide to go for a smaller GPU in a horizontal position, it allows you to store four more 2.5” SSDs in that vacant space.

Due to the vertical motherboard orientation on the center spine, this makes it very easy to access your I/O’s from the rear of the PC case. We also like that all of the panels detach effortlessly via tool-less clips.

vertical travel case

The H1 is a stylish vertical chassis that aims to streamline your building experience. To achieve this, it includes a 140mm AIO liquid cooler, an integrated 650W (Gold) PSU, and even a PCIe riser card. Moreover, the stock components can save you bags of time from having to route your own cables.

Another big pro is that the compact tower design provides support for full-sized graphics cards (up to 305mm), which is still fairly uncommon for a mini-ITX system.. The result is being able to put together a console size powerhouse with a small form factor size that is similar to the Xbox Series X.

Constructed from SGCC steel and tempered glass, the NZXT H1 has an attractive dual-tone exterior. On the front is a tempered glass panel that blocks out visibility to the inside components. Additionally, the perforated steel side and rear panels allow for an intake of airflow.

Thanks to the innovative tool-less design, accessing the interior is incredibly easy. The front and back panels detach via clips and simply pop off with a bit of a pull. You can then slide off the steel “U-shape“ cover (the sides and top) from the inner frame to finally start your build.

Admittedly, as the H1 is quite compact so there are a few things you need to be aware of. The mobo has a 45mm memory height limit so purchasing low-profile RAM might be necessary. Besides this, the SSD cage (below the PSU) is fairly limited with a capacity for only two x 2.5 SSD’s and no HDDs.

Due to having an upside-down motherboard orientation, another interesting feature is that the bulk of your I/O’s face down below the bottom of the case. Even so, this is not really a problem as the top I/O ports give you 1 x USB 3.1 (Type-C), 1 x Type-A, and an audio jack next to the power button.

Overall, it’s a fantastic PC case with an iconic vertical design.

1. Evolv Shift 2 / Shift 2 Air

The Evolv Shift 2 is a premium ITX chassis that packs plenty of power. It has an innovative tower design that aims to reduce desk space while staying intuitive and accessible. Due to its ultra-small footprint and versatile placement, the Shift 2 looks superb from anywhere in your home.

Aesthetically, the design comes in two different models or versions; the Shift 2 and the Shift 2 Air. Both of these models have the same interior, with the only difference being the exterior side panels. Unlike the original that uses tempered glass, the Air goes for fabric mesh sides.

Accessing the interior of the Shift is quite clever and sure to take you by surprise. This is possible by pushing down on the vent at the top of the case, which in turn releases a latch so you can lift up the top. With the top lifted, all four side panels remove by loosening the underneath thumbscrews.

For installation, the Shift 2 has a sandwich layout, similar to the SV590 v2 and Meshlicious on this list. On one half of the spine there’s room for your mobo with an 85mm CPU cooler, then below that is space for an SFX PSU along the side. Your motherboard I/O’s are accessible under the top vent.

On the other half of the spine, there’s clearance for a full-length 335mm GPU, also with its I/Os pointing out the top. If you do decide to go for the Shift 2 Air, your GPU will have an abundance of ventilation through the side fabric. Additionally, the rear panel has laser cut-out vents.

For airflow, the Shift 2 can house a total of four 120mm/ 140mm fans. It includes an integrated 140mm fan in the top half of the rear with further room for an optional AIO in the bottom half. Two more case fans can mount at the bottom and top to vacuum air up through the chassis.

In terms of storage, there are multiple combinations for four 2.5” and 3.5” drives behind the front panel. Also located at the bottom of the front panel are two x USB 3.0 ports.

In short, it’s a beautiful PC case with one of the best vertical designs out there right now.

We hope you enjoyed this post on the best Vertical PC case.

Best Mini-ITX Cases 2024: Our Picks for Compact PC Builds

You can build a compact, attractive, and powerful system with one of the best Mini-ITXDunno PC cases.

Best Mini-ITX Cases

The 6.7 × 6.7-inch Mini-ITX motherboard form factor has been around for almost 25 years now. But while lots of other tech has continued to shrink, many builders and enthusiasts are still building PCs in bulky towers with full-size ATX motherboards. That really isn’t necessary for people at this point, even if you're assembling a high-performance rig with a huge, heat-generating RTX 4090. Ppting for Mini-ITX used to mean trading performance for a smaller PC, requiring compact components like short, compact graphics cards and low-profile coolers. While opting for a small-form-factor (SFF) SFX power supply is still often a requirement in the smallest cases, most ITX cases released in recent years also support full-length two- or three-slot graphics cards. Still, that's not always the case, and cards have gotten larger with the arrival of Nvidia's 4090. So be sure to check clearances before buying. And don't neglect cooling. Shoving high-end parts into a compact case without ample ventilation and fans will lead to throttling at best, and a shorter lifespan for your parts at worst.

Below are our favorite tested picks for the best Mini-ITX cases you can buy today.

Best Mini-ITX Case Overall: Lian Li Q58

1. Lian Li Q58

Our expert review:

Specifications

Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

Lian Li’s Q58 blew us away, making it an easy pick as the best Mini-ITX case for most people. This is a 14.3-liter Mini-ITX case that costs just $130 in its base variant, and it packs great looks, excellent cooling potential, and a flexible internal design.

The basic frame is made from steel, and each side houses half-glass, half-perforated steel panels. The front and the top plate are made from fancier aluminum, altogether giving the case a very premium look and feel. The GPU can draw fresh air straight from the side, but you can still see its pretty RGB through the glass, and you can squeeze a 280mm radiator in the case’s roof.

But, the case can be reconfigured to sacrifice some AIO and storage options in favor of fitting an ATX power supply, which is a great way of achieving some cost savings, in combination with opting for the plain PCIe 3.0 riser cable. Throw another $30 in, and you’ll get a PCIe 4.0 riser cable, ready for RTX 3000 and RX 6000 graphics cards. There are few things not to like about the Q58.

Fractal Tiny Terra PC Case

2. Fractal Design Terra

The smallest PC cases from before the likes of the RTX 4090 and modern high-end CPUs are now basically obsolete because they can't handle huge graphics cards and the demanding thermals of modern components. But the Mini-ITX Fractal Design Terra case has (just) enough room for (most) big graphics cards, and is prettier than other cases thanks to an aluminum outer shell and some striking wood trim up front. Like the larger Fractal North tower, this case is a welcome departure from the aggressive lines and RGB of most gaming-focused cases.

The Terra's flip-up doors and adjustable spine also make this case fairly easy to build in considering its tiny size. Just make sure o pick up a modular SFX power supply. You'll need all the extra space you can get in this case. Read: Fractal Design Terra Hands-On

Best Mini-ITX Case For Lan-Parties: Hyte Revolt 3

3. Hyte Revolt 3

When iBuyPower said that it would be opening the Revolt 3’s chassis for purchase as a standalone chassis, we were excited. And now that it’s here, we’re quite impressed. The Hyte Revolt 3 is a compact ITX case that doesn’t cost much at $129, but offers a wonderfully practical design with plenty of mesh, two click-away headphone holders and a carrying handle that sits flush into the top when you don’t need it. Of course, the build quality isn’t quite top-notch at this price. It’s all just painted steel, but the paint finish is nice and with its sleek, tidy looks, will fit in well in almost any gaming setup.

Internally, the Revolt 3 can also house almost any Mini-ITX system you throw at it, with room for large GPUs, up to a 280mm AIO, two 2.5-inch SSDs and one 3.5-inch drive. Better yet, its layout meanst it doesn't need a PCI-e riser cable, so you won’t have to worry about reduced bandwidth on an RTX 3000 or RX 6000 series graphics card.

The only real catch to this chassis is that it relies entirely on the AIO for airflow. But in testing, we found that this setup is perfectly adequate, even when we threw our high-TDP i5-11600K and RTX 3080 Ti graphics card at it.

Best Looking Mini-ITX Case: Phanteks Evolv Shift 2

4. Phanteks Evolv Shift 2

The Evolv Shift 2 stands out at first glance for its towering, small footprint design and beautiful anodized aluminum panels. Priced at $100 for the mesh version and $110 for the variant with TG and an addressable-RGB fan, it easily earns a spot on our Best Mini-ITX PC Cases list.

With a small footprint and beautiful finish in both the tempered-glass and mesh variants, the Evolv Shift 2 is perfect as an SFF PC for use in the living room, or moving around the house wherever you need it. The easily accessible top IO makes plugging devices in a breeze too. Building in it was tight, and came with the typical frustrations associated with Mini-ITX systems, but I still managed a build within about 3 hours, and the end result was well worth the effort. The overall size is a bit bigger than most Mini-ITX cases would be, but the tempered glass side panels do wonders for creating systems to show off, though keep in mind that its single-fan radiator support may be too thermally limiting for some systems.

Best Mini-ITX Case for Novice Builders: Cooler Master NR200P Max

5. Cooler Master NR200P Max

Cooler Master ’s NR200P Max is an excellent, ready-to-go chassis that comes from the factory with a powerful 850w power supply and 280mm liquid cooler. Top that with the inclusion of both mesh and glass side panels, a PCIe 4.0 riser cable, PSU cables and AIO tubes that are fit to length and pre-routed, and the NR200P Max is extremely simple to build in and an easy recommendation for those looking for simple setup.

All you need to bring is a motherboard, CPU, graphics card, memory, and a boot drive, letting you focus on the important things. The only real catch to this case is that its paint and finish are a bit boring. But with the glass panel showing off your fancy internals, we doubt you’ll mind. And if you do, paint it!

Best Premium Mini-ITX Case: Louqe Raw S1

6. Louqe Raw S1

It’s been a common complaint that Mini-ITX cases are expensive. And if there’s one chassis that makes this statement true, it is the Louqe Raw S1. But this is a Mini-ITX case to gawk at. From its elegant design to its thick, one-piece aluminum outer shell, the Louqe Raw S1 is more of a work of art than a case.

However, you can fit a PC in here. There’s no AIO support, nor air filtration. So yes, there are sacrifices, but it offers among the easiest build processes – chances are you’ll be done building within the hour and have a very tidy end result. It will also happily fit huge triple-slot graphics cards, despite its ultra-compact 12-litter frame, and with a fancy ‘Cobalt’ PCIe 4.0 riser cable, there’s hardly a thing about this case that isn’t ultra-premium. It even has a carrying handle.

Just keep in mind the case’s $330 price point and limited availability.

Quick Mini-ITX Case Shopping Tips

  • Triple check your parts compatibility: When building in the best Mini-ITX case, compatibility becomes an issue more often than in bigger cases, so you’ll want to spend extra time planning your build around the case. The best strategy is to start with the case you want, and then find parts that fit accordingly.
  • Ensure adequate cooling: Especially in small cases, cooling can become an issue due to limited fan and radiator support. If you’re building a mid-range system, this isn’t much of an issue as most cases can deal with that kind of thermal workload. But if you’re building a high-end PC with a high-TDP CPU and GPU (and especially if you’re going to overclock the CPU or GPU), it may be worth looking for a case that supports 240mm or 280m AIOs (we've tested the best AIO coolers here), plus an extra intake fan.
  • Double Check PCIe 4.0 Support: Many of the best Mini-ITX cases use PCI-Express riser cables so that the GPU doesn’t have to be slotted directly into the motherboard. But while PCIe 4.0 cables are on the rise, not every Mini-ITX case comes with one. When installing a modern graphics card and a motherboard that has PCIe 4.0 support, it may be worth the extra outlay, especially if you plan on upgrading your GPU again a few years down the road.
  • Follow your heart: When it comes down to it, the best Mini-ITX case for your build depends a lot on what you like. Mini-ITX cases come in all sorts of weird and wonderful designs and shapes, so there are plenty of styles to choose from. Take the time to look at all your options and choose one that best fits your needs and aesthetic taste.

Honorable Mentions

Cooler Master NCore 100 Max PC case

We tested Cooler Master's Ncore 100 Max case not long ago. It's fairly easy to set up for an ITX case, thank to its built-in SFX power supply and 120mm AIO cooler. And it has room for all but the biggest graphics cards. But with it's built-in components, the Ncore 100 Max is also very expensive at around $400. Its side panels are also a bit fiddly to get on and off. And the vertical design isn't the most stable, so it might not be a great choice for those with young children and / or rambunctious pets.

  • 2Be_or_Not2Be For most getting into the mini-ITX cases, you can't go wrong (and may not go any further) going with the NR200. It's much smaller than the big cases you may have been using, and it's easy to build in. You don't necessarily have to get the Max version if you weren't planning on going with an AIO build. However, if you were, then it doesn't get much easier than the Max with the large 850W PSU and AIO already installed. The next significant drop in size that I'd recommend is the Ncase M1. It does cost a bit more, but it's an excellent performer that's proven over the test of time. Some of these small sandwich builds can really build the heat on either the GPU or CPU, and some you are forced to use liquid cool. But the Ncase M1 let's you decide how you want to cool it - air or liquid. Great flexiblity, and you even have a Type C port available on the front. Just try to buy a GPU < 300mm in length to install into it. I've even seen 3090 builds in it, so it can definitely be a ton of power in such a small case. So if you're going into the small cases, enjoy your journey down the rabbit hole! You'll wonder why you ever put up with large towers! Reply
  • DataMeister I'm happy to see the Ncase M1 still making it into modern lineups. I have a computer running in the first generation M1 case and I still have trouble finding a better case when looking at doing upgrades. Reply

  • ingtar33 I've been working with various MITX for years so this type of article is good to see from time to time. I currently love my current MITX case though it was a pain to find any reviews for it. Lian Li TU-150WX fantastic mitx case, just a bit rough for the cable management (common in actual MITX cases, it only not an issue on the MATX sized MITX cases. Reply
  • Flying-Q I pre-ordered a Q-58 when it was first announced and it arrived on the official release date, some time ago. I have built a fully hard-line, water-cooled system in it with a tiny DDC pump/res from Bykski. 5600X and 3600ti both cooled with a 240 rad. Contrary with the CONS given in the article, cable management was a doddle, though I did make my own cables to exact length, and the PCIe riser is rock solid without any other support. I'd show an image, but corporate OneDrive won't allow it to be uploaded. Reply

  • g-unit1111 How did the Dan A4 not make the list? You can fit a full size GPU and a 240mm cooler in the rig and everything fits beautifully. Not to mention there's a ton of readily available customizations and mods for it, for those who are into that sort of thing. I just built a new rig in this case and I am very pleased with the result. • greenreaper I built my latest box with the InWin Chopin Max, which supports zero GPU cards - what it's designed for is use with an APU (or anything with integrated graphics in general, which includes almost all of the Ryzen 7000-series as well as Intel's latest). Cooling my 7600 worked well enough with the box fan, but even better with a Noctua NH-L9a-AM5 and the NA-FD1 duct to reach the mesh top - add 64GB DDR5 and it's well within the included 200W Gold PSU. Advice How we test

Riding new roads and exploring different places bathed in warm sunshine is one of the great joys of cycling, but getting you and your bike there safely can be the most stressful part of a cycling holiday . Some riders choose to hire a bike whilst on holiday, but for others, part of the attraction is the opportunity to ride their familiar bike up famous climbs or through beautiful landscapes - no one wants a week of cycling spoiled by an ill-fitting bike or uncomfortable saddle.

If you decide to fly with your own bike, then you have the choice of using a hard box or a soft bag, each with pros and cons which we will investigate below. If you choose to drive to your destination instead, however, you can read our guides to the best bike racks for cars  and the  best caravan and motorhome bike racks .

Scicon AeroComfort 3.0 bike bag

Best overall

The AeroComfort's soft exterior houses a metal structure to which you fasten your frame so it's held securely. There is very little disassembly required and as the bag is pretty light there is plenty of potential to pack extra kit inside and still be within your airline's limits.

Read more below

Evoc bike travel bike bag

Best for ease of use

As the Evoc Bike Bag is soft, it's light and easy to store when not in use. There is plenty of padding provided to protect your bike when it's in the bag, and the large side opening makes it simple to put the bike in place.

LifeLine EVA Bike Pod against a white background

Best value

Very light and compact, LifeLine's EVA Bike Pod also offers excellent value for money. Its semi-rigid design offers more protection than a soft bag but they are still quite flexible and as it only has two wheels it can be a little awkward to manoeuvre around an airport.

Orucase B2 bike travel case

Most portable

Another light option, the Orucase B2 even includes rucksack-style straps which are handy if you have packed very light. There is a fair bit of disassembly required though and it can feel a bit lopsided when wheeling it around.

Thule Roundtrip bike bag

Best with integrated stand

Thule's RoundTrip Pro XT bike bag uses an internal frame that can also double as a workstand whilst on holiday, which is very handy. It's more of a reinforced bag than a hard case though and as such is quite pricey.

VeloVault 2 bike box

Most robust

One of the heavier boxes available, the VeloVault2 provides very reassuring protection for your bike. Its quality construction and overall sturdiness will ensure that your lightweight carbon frame should emerge unscathed, but there might not be much weight allowance left once this gets on the scales.

Scicon Aerocomfort 3.0 Bike Bag with a bike packed away inside

Scicon Aerocomfort 3.0 Bike Bag

1. Scicon AeroComfort 3.0 Road Bike Travel Bag

Our expert review:

Specifications

Reasons to buy, reasons to avoid.

The AeroComfort 3.0 from Scicon is a firm favorite among the Cycling Weekly tech team. We've flown test bikes all over the world, and we like to use this carry case because it makes travelling by bike easy, hassle-free and incredibly quick. It takes just 15 minutes to pack the bike away, and even less time to put it back together.

How so? The outside is a soft, fabric bag, but inside you'll find a metal structure. You simply remove the wheels, loop your chain over a specially designed T-bar and use your quick releases to stand the bike on the metal frame, so it's immovable inside and thus a lot more secure. It couldn't be easier.

There's no need to remove anything aside from the wheels, the handlebars stay straight and don't need twisting. This does make the front end quite bulky, but we found that the protection is good, with a thick soft fabric, designated pockets for wheels, helmets and shoes, and most importantly the rear derailleur is kept off the ground.

Multi-coloured Evoc bike travel bag

2. Evoc Bike Travel Bike Bag

Whilst hard cases give the ultimate reassurance that your bike is well protected, they also take up a lot of room when out of use, and, they're heavy - limiting your ability to pack kit alongside your bike and stay within airline limits.

Enter soft cases, and this Evoc bike bag is an excellent option. Yes, it offers less protection - but the Cycling Weekly team has used it to transport press bikes on plenty of occasions (NB, we once even used a cardboard box for a personal bike, the theory is that baggage handlers will be more careful!).

This Evoc Bike bag excels in terms of ease of use, too. The side opening makes getting the bike in a cinch, and the handy Velcro makes getting the parts in the right place a piece of cake. The newer model reviewed here now has a reinforced front zip, meaning it should last longer.

LifeLine EVA Bike Pod

LifeLine EVA Bike Pod

3. LifeLine EVA Bike Pod

Although it's a reasonably compact bike box, the LifeLine Bike Pod will take a smaller-sized bike without too much disassembly. It rolls on two rear wheels, with two front feet to stand on. Quick-release wheels, although not wheels with thru-axles, can be secured to the outside of the case.

Our tester found that the LifeLine Bike Pod is relatively easy to move around, although since you have to lift the front end and the carrying handle doesn't let you wrap your hand through it, longer carries can be tiring.

The sides of the bag are quite flexible, so it would be advisable to wrap wheels and frame well inside to prevent crushing. We were also concerned about how robust the feet would be and how well the zip would stand repeated use, but overall, the LifeLine Bike Pod is a relatively inexpensive option for the less frequent flyer.

Orucase B2 Bike Travel Case

Orucase B2 Bike Travel Case

4. Orucase B2 Bike Travel Case

We've taken the B2 bike case on several domestic and international flights and were left impressed. It sports many welcomed features, including backpack straps and a rollable chassis. Combined with its compact, space-saving size it makes for a sleek, highly portable and trustworthy bag that we think is a great option if space is limited or you'll be traveling on serval modes of transport during your trip.

We did find that it's not the easiest to pack, and required some disassembling of your bike - so you'll need to be confident of putting your bike back together once you've arrived. It's also far from cheap, but in our opinion, it's likely a worthy investment given the ease of portability and the posibbility to save on extra fees due to its smaller size.

Thule Round Trip Pro XT bike bag

Thule Round Trip Pro XT bike bag

5. Thule RoundTrip Pro XT Bike Bag

The Thule RoundTrip Pro XT falls into the not-quite-a-bike-bag category. It's a softshell but has some structural implants that should keep your bike safe through the worst of it.

However, the bag does have some weak areas and for the price you pay this doesn't induce confidence. But, maybe we're being picky. This is a solid purchase, undoubtedly, and we always add extra bubble wrap around our frames, whatever we're packing them into.

The base, which holds the bike static in the case, can have three legs added, transforming it into a workstand for when you get to your destination - which is a rather 'nice to have' too.

Blue Velovault2 bike box

Blue Velovault2 bike box

6. VeloVault2 bike box

We really liked the VeloVault2 bike box when we had it in for test. It's big and robust, which is what many cyclists need to achieve peace of mind when flying with a bike.

However, weighing in at 12.5kg means it should sneak under most airline weight controls. The company has sweated the small stuff, too: the clasps are quality, it's easy to close and it rolls well.

VeloVault2 bike box has a new carrying handle, longer wheelbase, improved strut design and it is roof box ready. Oh, and it's now bright blue... other colours are available if that's not to your liking.

How do I pack a bike into a bike bag or box?

Packing the bike into the bag or box sometimes takes quite a bit more effort than expected. The process may differ slightly depending on the specific box or bag, but the general process goes something like:

- Remove the pedals - Partially deflate tires and remove the wheels - Remove the seatpost and saddle - Remove the handlebar from the stem or remove the handlebar and stem together from the steerer - Undo rear derailleur (but leave it on the chain) - Secure the frame and components in the box via the manufacturer-approved method - Pack the tools required to rebuild the bike!

There are a few more mechanical adjustments you might make, and if you’re handy with a spanner they shouldn't cause too much grief. For example, you might have to remove the chainset. This will keep it protected en route but it’s worth bearing in mind that you’ll have to reassemble it when you arrive on your hols, so if you're no spanner wizard it might be best to avoid this. It may also mean packing extra tools, which means extra weight to carry around.

Best bike bags vs best bike boxes: which is better?

You might think this is an easy question: it's surely a box, right? However, that's probably before you’ve taken weight into consideration.

A lighter weight bike bag influences two things: how comfortable it is to carry and lug about but also how much of your baggage allowance it eats into - and how much the baggage supplement might be.

The trade off is in the level of protection: a hard flight case like box is going to take the knocks better than a soft bag. That said, soft bike bags will usually protect your bike from the worst of it and they also tend to be cheaper than bike boxes.

There is an in between option. The best bike bags tend to have some more structural inserts inside but retain more of a bag's lightweight nature. Other bike bags can have nifty, in-built storage techniques. For example, some have built-in dropouts that allow you to stand your frame upright and hold it tight.

Do I need to add extra padding to my bike bag?

Regardless of how tough your bag or box might be, you’ll definitely want to pad the important parts inside it. We’d recommend bubble wrap and foam piping. If you’re lucky, your local bike shop might have excess from all the bikes they get sent in. Don't forget to put it around the frame in places where other items in the box might rub against it.

Riding in the mountains

A good bike box or bag has to tread the line between providing the best protection for your bike and yet still being light, easy to carry and simple to pack. These boxes have been used to carry various bikes on multiple flights, being packed and unpacked several times each. They all protected the bikes from any transport damage and none were particularly difficult or awkward to pack but each has its advantages and disadvantages that may clinch the deal for you.
