Bad voltage regulator.......bad.

Yikes.. do yourself a favor and go aftermarket (unless you're still under warranty that is) for a replacement. The rectifier/voltage regulator on the Vic's are total garbage IMO. There's no reason to keep using these POS units in lieu of the newer, better ones on the market...they don't cost more and they run far better. I put one on my son's 01 that had already has TWO charging system repairs done, at a cost of 500+ per.. been almost 2 years now since I did it and he's had zero issues. I think in your case I might be inclined to replace the hot and ground leads to the battery too.. if they got soft etc.

Ya, I ordered a new one off the web (not stock) after reading a bit about voltage RR's and realizing the stock ones are garbage. Tested the stator and it's all good. Tested the circuit breaker that the voltage RR plugs into and it's all good. Battery leads are all good. Rear brake line----------not so good. Cooked it big time so ordered a new line for that. Everything else seems to be ok. Gonna pull the plate that the voltage RR mounts to and maybe repowdercoat it as it got that electrical burnt ****e glaze all over it and it reeks. With the way it blew, the flames mostly shot out the front, so it didn't even cook the wires going to the rear brake switch or any of the smaller wires that are down there. Came out of this pretty good IMO.

Found this video on Youtube explaining how shunt style and Mosfet style voltage RR's work.

Good thing it blew when you stopped and not on the ride. That could've got exciting fast.

They must have a HUGE batch of junk VR's, or one terrible manufacturer. Thousands of Polaris RZR VR recalls.

Polaris went cheap on them I think. From the very beginning if you ask me. Considering the rest of their electronices seem to be pretty solid, like the starter etc, it's kind of a head scratcher to be sure.

Don't know if the stockers are shunt style or not but they are pricy compared to aftermarket Mosfet style. About $210+ for a stocker. Around $120 for aftermarket.

It's really disheartening when a company has a product that is, for the most part higher end. You look at the fit and finish of these bikes and look at the quality of a lot of the parts and it is impressive, otherwise, we wouldn't have bought one. But then you read about a lot of issues and you understand that if there is a problem, the manufacturer just doesn't care, as they have a warehouse with 200,000 units of blah blah blah part, and they aren't gonna change it until they use all those up. I betcha the voltage RR on a 2017 is the same as the one on a '10. In todays day and age, there is no damn reason these things should be catching on fire if they blow, let alone fail at all at the rate they are.

I need to get a new voltage regulator as well. Saw the Mosfet regulators, but also found this on eBay. Polaris Trombetta 4012717 Motorcycle Voltage Regulator Rectifier 11-15 Victory Has anyone heard of this Trombetta brand? Any feedback?

victory cross country tour rectifier

Busdriver, Go with a series R/R. MOS FET R/R's are simply a different design of shunt R/R. Check out my thread: 'nother R/R Tale... Oh yah, that Trombetta sure looks cheap for $50!

Ok 2011 model here. Original VR. No issues. Should I just change it out now ? Am I on borrowed time ?

Hold the Phone....... While waiting for money to transfer into my PayPal account I decided to check a couple of more things in the charging system. The was some corrosion underneath the negative battery lead where it earths to the engine case. The black lead from the voltage regulator also connects here as well. Now understanding more about how a voltage regulator works. If the earth is not the best, then would this cause issues when the regulator tries to dump the extra volts it doesn't need to earth? So I put everything back together (temporarily) and started the bike up. Voltmeter went from a bit over 12 volts before start, to just below 15 volts and sat there even as rpm was increased. Running some further checks with a decent digital multi meter and so far things a within acceptable limits. Might have just saved myself from an unnecessary purchase (at this time anyway).

Just Wondering? I was becoming a little concerned with my 2012 CCT voltmeter readings. After reading your post I wonder if my readings are OK? Engine not running ignition on apprx 12.7, immediately after start approx 14.8 - 15.0, remains there at 2000 rpm. Should I be concerned??

It all seems to be regulating perfectly now :huepfenicon111:

Clean electrical connections are key to a charging system. To any electrical system. Corrosion can play havoc. Once a year and my time was 2 weeks ago when my bike left me stranded (wouldn't start ) I go thru my connections. Pull apart wire brush and tighten down. This time my culprit was a loose ground at the battery and both cables at the starter were loose. Bikes fine. All original parts. In the tool bag is a spare 40amp CB. I may just purchase a MOSFET VR and keep it on the shelf. Don't like down time.

Most of the time a bad electrical system problem will come down to a bad ground or a loose connection. I would bet that most of the VR failures that people experience come from a bad connection causing the VR to cook itself too.

I agree. When I had my problem the couple weeks ago and got the bike home and went through everything I went to start the bike after I was done and it never fired so quickly. Even to this Day in fires pretty darn quick

'K, I'm HOLD'N, hold'n everything in sight! Glad you found yer problem. It can be nerve wracking chasing 'lectrical gremlins. I know, I do it for a livin'. That 15 VDC comin' outta the charge'n system you mention might be more like 14.8 VDC. That's a good number to have. If ya go higher there may be other problems. 'G luck to ya....

Multimeter says 14.8 volts. And I'm no longer blowing headlight globes. Started the bike up again today and all seems good.

I always figured 14.8v was a little high.. but it depends on where you're checking the voltage. I like mid 13's at the battery.. make me worry less about cooking the battery.

In case you missed it, this was posted quite some time ago on the Vision section. 'nother R/R Tale...

If you're concerned, don't take the built in voltmeter at it's word... get a voltmeter and check it externally. Also do your due diligence and check/clean/re-tighten the connection in the charging system. You'd be surprised how many times someone will go to check it themselves and find loose or corroded fittings. It's nice to have a vm built in, but their accuracy is about as dependable as the fuel gauge/light.. not really.

Thank you. I will do my due diligence. Time to put my worries to bed.

I thought I had the same problem. I did my due diligence and found both battery connection loose and also the connection to the starter as well. Wire brushed all , tighten down nice , and she fired up better than ever. This is now part of my oil change / maintenance ritual which also includes clutch cable, linkage lube and full inspection belt , filter, etc. make for a nice afternoon in the garage.

Electrical Problems

victory cross country tour rectifier

  • Add to quote

Well, this is the second time I take my 2014 Victory Cross Country in for an electrical problem. First time I posted the Victory motorcycle groupies, you know who you are, basically concluded I must have done somthing wrong to the bike, operator malfunction type mentality. So for all you hardcore Victory Geeks and suck ups, here were the symtoms the first time. Riding the bike and it cut off. I attempted to start, it would turnover but would not start. No chech engine light. Yes I checked wires, fuses, gas, switch and typical gremlins. Bike was taken to dealer and started no problem. They found nothing wrong. The bike had around 800 miles, no modifications have been done. Second time around. Washed bike. Shortly after washing I heard the radio blasting in my garage. The radio on my bike ncame on by itself. Key out of ignition in the horizontal position. I put key in turned all the way to accessory and then off. Radio, display, instruments and tag light remained on. Pulled ignition fuse, they shut off. Next day drove bike to work. Everything seemed fine. Came back couple hours later radio blasting and same stuff on with no key in ignition. End of my shift bike would not start. Jump started rode home. No issues. Turned bike off and craked it back up, battery was charged bike started right up. Following day bike was dead. Jump started two days later, figured anything that was wet should have been dry. Bike cranked up. Rode for 18 miles, stopped to gas up. Cranked right up. Rode a total of 33 miles and parked. Later that night would not crank up. Jump started. On the was home 23 miles into my ride, the instruments started flickiring. The headlight went on and off and idle was irratic. Check engine came on. Continued home, pulled in my driveway and she cutt off. Would not start. Put battery tender on bike, will not charge or jump start. Bike now has 5,900 miles. Took bike to dealer and gave them the full story. So here we are again, frustrated with my bike! I did see a post with similar problems, he did not have a conclusion but he did mention and issue you should all be aware of. A screw which holds a pice of plastic which goes over the starter selenoid which makes contact with the selenoid. Checked mine, it was making contact. I dont know if it was sufficient to cause a short but I did back the screw off.

Sorry to hear about your troubles, but thanks for the info on the screw by the solenoid. Please keep us posted with the outcome.

Electrical gremlins SUCK. Mine spent 6 of the first 12 months in the shop for them. Turned out to be a slowly crushed wiring harness under the seat. It should have been obvious, but,,,,,,,,,,,, Don't be too hard on the folks here. There is a laundry list of things that are common, sounds like you found the uncommon glitch. Hope things work out and you have the bike make nice after the problem is found. cheers

Glitch I will chech that pinched harness, I know I have a harness which keeps one of my side covers from closing properly, maybe its the same harness.

Sounds like the bike is Possessed! Hopefully the dealers find the problem and exorcise the demons. Or give you a new bike. I hate electrical problems!

I would be looking at using the lemon law for this bike.

Very different set of symptoms, but still feel your pain. FWIW, on my bike it ran right down the seat pan. However the main fuse block is under the right side panel and it probably feeds everything from there. It never hurts to keep an eye on things though. Prevention is always better than having to find and fix a problem. Any word yet?

My bike had electrical problems. First the wiring harness at the steering head was pinched you could not see it through the plastic conduit. It would just shut off. Dealer repaired under warranty. Then it started blowing the ignition fuse. Replace fuse start right up. It did this four times then finally it blew the new fuse as soon as the key was turned on. Hauled it home again then again 75 mi. to dealer now the fuse wont blow. Told them to keep the bike until it was fixed. Also told them to ride it or have mechanic to and from work what ever it took They talked with Polaris tech people because after 250 mi it hadn't blown another fuse. They replaced the fuel pump and 14000 mi later no more problems. This is the only bike out off about 40 that has ever been back to the dealer. I was not happy. But since I love this bike so much problems I had early on are just a distant memory. Seems like with new cars or motorcycles their is so much electrical stuff on them sometimes there are problems. I hope you get things worked out.

I can't help but wonder if the electrical issue is or is not tied into the bike randomly shutting down. Many of us experience the shut down issue whether or not blipping the throttle.

victory cross country tour rectifier

This is frequently caused by a loose battery terminal connection. I dunno why they don't use star washers on them to help keep them from coming loose but it is an easy thing to add them on. Well, kinda easy, the front plastic grill has to come off first to get to it. Check around in the battery area for any other loose fitting connection and look for any corrosion build up. Wetter climes tend to have more electrical issues. There is also a fuse that resets I believe - up under the right cover that has come up many times as being the culprit. I feel for the OP here as the radio coming on by itself tells me somewhere in the harness there is probably two frayed wires touching but since they are inside the harness they are impossible to find. Also, since it is an intermittent issue, the usual continuity checks and load tests won't necessarily work. It could also be the ignition switch or wires right around it. It's very possible the harness or ignition needs to be replaced if no other source for the issues can be found. Intermittent electrical problems are the worst. They cause us to stop trusting the machine and get a bad attitude toward the brand if it isn't taken care of by the dealer/Ma Vic. If no satisfaction can be found at the dealership or some info to fix it here; try posting on Facebook Victory Co. Page. Others have gotten help there when they could not elsewhere; even by calling Polaris.

I know one thing.... If these were cars shutting down people would be all over the mfg. so why not with bikes? I think if there is a problem like this, you need to take the steps necessary to give them the chance to fix it , then sue their ass. I for one am getting a little concerned over the quality of these bikes.

Mines only ever done it when blipping back into first. I dont do that anymore.

cokyodi said: Well, it's been a couple of weeks and according to Mountain Motor Sports in Marietta Ga. They have been waiting over a week for a part. The very rare, never damaged and rarely replaced part is known as a Voltage Regulator. This part is hand made in Junno Alaska by Native Eskimos and must be shipped by dog sled across the Alaskan wilderness before being shipped by more traditional meens in the lower 50. WTF! How long does it take to get parts from an american company. Click to expand...

I heard that from shops that work on bikes. They don't like working on Vic's because they can't get parts. Vic better wake up or they will due a quick death.

Good point John!

So today I called again to see if my Victory is ready, they say no and have no estimate for the part to arrive. I asked to speak to the General Manager of the dealership. They say he is not in. I call a friend who knows the owner; I get his cell number and call him. The first thing he asks is how I got his number. So I explain to him the issue with the bike. I told him I understand the part is coming from Victory but my bike is at his dealership. He says what I can do to make this right. I told him to get it off a floor model. He says he will see what he can do and call me back. After five o’clock he calls me and tells me he was just informed the part came in...Really. He says my bike will be ready today but it needs a battery. Huh. O.k. He tells me the service manager will call me shortly. One hour later the service manager calls me tells me the bike is ready. He says the battery will need to be replaced because it will not hold a charge. O.K. how much for the battery. 119 dollars. I say ok. He then says with what I assume is the straightest face ever it will be 199 dollars installed plus tax. They want to charge 70 dollars to install the battery. The kicker is I took the bike without the front cover so the battery is right in his face. If it were me not only would I be apologizing extensively for the shitty service but the battery and needless to say the labor would be on the house. Mountain Motor Sports, Marietta Ga.

Wow! Sounds like your dealer is as bad as the one here in Kansas City. I too question sometimes how victory continues with as many poor dealers as I see they have. Dealers around here are great at taking your money and selling you a bike just not very knowledgeable on how to fix them. Hope they got it fixed for you and you don't have a few more trips till it's right

Well if you ask me many dealers are pretty bad rom a service standpoint. For one thing they have these 'kids' that just look at this trouble shooting manual with no common sense and they 'try' this and that at your expense. I got my bike 80 miles from where I am because the local honda /victory dealer SUCKS. My dealer is small but very good. I think people on here should all get together and write to the dealer AND Victory. Oh yea.. How did you come to need a battery?

Battery and installation should not be on the house (dealership). But it should be on victory. If the repair was covered under warranty it's a simple thing to prove that the bad r/r resulted in a bad battery so the new one should be covered even if it is not normally (batteries fall under wear/maintenance items and are not covered in my experience). For the sake of making a customer happy I could see the dealer covering the cost of the installation if victory won't but asking for a free battery is stretching it imo.

I spoke to the Dealers Manager and that was my point exactly. He knows I am upset about the almost three weeks my bike spent at his shop. More than likely he knows he lost my biz. But as a manager if you have any hopes of keeping that customer you eat the 120 dollars for the battery with the hopes I wont leave. And if I do leave at least I dont make a big splash and start posting on blogs, FB or Forums bad mouthing MOUNTAIN MOTOR SPORTS IN MARIETTA GEORGIA!

Domestic Shipping :  Addresses that receive  both postal and carrier mail are best. USPS Priority mail ( postal) is used most of the time, but some orders require carrier delivery ( UPS, FedEx)

International Shipping :  Addresses that receive both postal and carrier mail are best. USPS Priority mail ( postal) is used most of the time, but some orders require carrier delivery ( UPS, FedEx)   International orders will generally be shipped via USPS Priority Mail. If you have other shipping carrier concerns, please ask  prior  to ordering. It is recommended to keep an eye on the international tracking number because it is possible some taxes will apply that the buyer will be responsible for paying prior to delivery. If the shipment is not delivered for any reason and is returned by any mail postal system or mail carrier,  then the shipping payment is non-refundable without exception, regardless of the reason. Your purchase is agreeance of this policy. Shipping carriers do not issue refunds for this condition.

Special Rate $45  If the shipping rate is showing $45 for one ignition unit, then please provide a physical address (Generally UPS) for those products.

Exchanges : If you have ordered the incorrect part and have not installed it, we will gladly exchange it for the correct part provided we offer it.

CDI Units : There are  NO  returns for refund on CDI Units. The rationale is not relevant and disregarded. . This return policy guards against issues caused by misdiagnosis, any change of mind about repairing the vehicle (e.g. selling the vehicle), purchases made for non-disclosed deadlines, and replacing with a used or less expensive unit from another retailer for further troubleshooting.  If you suspect an issue with a CDI, you will need to contact us at that point, and it can be sent in for testing .  There are testing deadlines once or twice a month. Inbound shipping is never covered, and upfront replacements will not be sent . If you purchase a duplicate part elsewhere for further troubleshooting, then there will still be no refund on the originally purchased part. The reason behind this is that often there are precautions that need to be taken before installation of new ignition cdi ( They are temperamental by nature and can be damaged if the proper precautions are not taken beforehand e,g. bad ignition coil or regulator rectifier.  Often, we can provide troubleshooting suggestions. There are  many  non-refundable costs behind each order and in many cases the Ignition units ( CDI) are built just for the order. Ignition units  ( CDIs are also electrosensitive parts, which can be damaged during use. Often a document will be included with the new part to help you out. Provided the ignition unit ( CDI)  has not been abused or altered(modified, this includes its connections ) we can exchange only it, but NO returns for refund.  Your purchase is an agreement to this policy.  There are testing deadlines once or twice a month. Inbound shipping is never covered, and upfront replacements will not be sent. Digital Ignition units require a resistor cap 5k resistor spark cap, or spark plug. Digital units use a microcontroller that can get interference from other electrical frequencies on the application. With Digital Ignition units ( CDI Units) The Difference in behavior between new and old ignition units is not significant when there is an external fault.

CDI Unit Unit Repair Servic e: ( CDI/ECU Unit Repairs) When these parts are shipped back to the customer. They are only insured for the amount we bill for the repair itself. If the unit does test good and not repaired. It is only insured for the test fee. There are service deadlines, please send an email for the next service deadline date.

Ignition System kits : Generally, these take four business days to build. These system kits are offered ignition only and ignition plus a lighting lead. These are custom and built to order so there are no returns for refund on them. Generally, these are recommended for mechanically incline individuals. Timing is to be set through the TDC method. These are not prototype kits. Most have been in production for more than ten years. In the rare case that there is a fitment issue with the stator or flywheel rotor, then we can exchange the component provided there has been no physical damage or alteration. Exchange shipping fees may or may not apply. Inbound shipping is not covered, regardless of the reason. The 1-year exchange warranty on these components only covers internal failure. Any physical damage to any components is not covered by the warranty. All the parts in the kits are available independently as well. Some system kits do require some modification or adaptation.

Returns & Refunds : General Returns are handled on a case-by-case basis, and are only eligible within 14 days of the original purchase date.  No returns on installed parts. Eligible returns are subject to a 25% restocking fee of the subtotal which covers previous carrying costs and payment processing fees. After this period, please do not ask for a return.  Original shipping is always non-refundable and inbound shipping in never covered. Installed Parts, All CDI units, All System kits. and Rebuilt Parts (select rotors & select stators), and are non-returnable. Very few of the products on the site are OEM.  OEM electrical parts do not carry any manufacturer warranty and are not returnable. Generally have the oem stamp mark on them. If you are unsure which parts are OEM, please ask. Returns are never allowed based on the fact that they did not arrive at a destination by a predefined deadline nor warranty related,  This return policy guards against issues caused by misdiagnosis, any change of mind about repairing the vehicle ( e.g selling the vehicle), purchases made for non-disclosed deadlines, and replacing with a used or less expensive unit from another retailer for further trouble-shooting. . Returns are not allowed on any products that have been used or physically look like they have been installed. In the case of ordering the correct part, but the wrong year or model, we always try assist our customers to make sure they get the correct part for their application (eg year-make- model).

Order Cancellation:   It is often, that your order can not be canceled as the automated process flow moves along quickly. There are payment processing, acquisition, transaction fees, and postage that are paid which are not refundable to us or nor the customer.  If you decide to cancel your order after it is placed, then there will be a 10% deduction from the refund credit. The average time credit cards take to reflect refunds is 7 business days. If we have to cancel your order, then this condition would not apply. It is possible that a multi-order may ship without a particular part. Order cancellations of built to order Ignition unit ( CDI) or system ignition kit will be subject to the cancelation refund deduction.

Warranties : Most parts are warranted (OEM parts excepted), Please ask if you have any uncertainty. Warranty terms are 12 months from the date of purchase. 2024 Tour of the Gila Stage Three Report

Stephens Increases Overall Lead, Stites Blasts Into Victory

Stephens Increases Overall Tour of the Gila Lead, Winning Tyrone Time Trial

Cynisca Cycling’s Lauren Stephens raced to victory in Tyrone for Stage 3 of the Tour of the Gila 2024. Having won on the same course in 2015, she improved her previous best time by 23 seconds. Her victory at the Tyrone Individual Time Trial also increased her lead on the General Classification by 2:01, ahead of Nadia Gontova on GC. The DNA Pro Cycling rider was fourth on the stage. Alia Shafi finished 51 seconds behind Stephens, clocking a time of 39:03; 23 seconds ahead of Cécile Lejeune, racing for the Steve Tilford Foundation, finishing with 33:26 in third.

“It was quite windy out there,” Stephens said after the finish. “It was a great ride; I couldn’t have asked for anything more.”

Emily Ehrlich had been the heavy favorite coming into the time trial, after winning the TT at the Redlands Bicycle Classic and two gold medals at the Pan American Track Championships. Speaking ahead of her

start, Ehrlich said, “I honestly feel it’s the best TT we have in the country. I’ve only done it once, obviously, but it’s my favorite. I really love it!”

Ehrlich started her TT strong, with her head down in the tight position she is accustomed to.

Unfortunately, the Virginia’s Blue Ridge Twenty24 rider crashed coming down the descent of the Little Burro on the way out. She was then forced to abandon the race due to injury. The team later confirmed Ehrlich suffered a broken collarbone and possibly other fractures and is “absolutely covered in road rash.” Ehrlich had been expected to win the stage; with Stephens admitting that once she had seen that Ehrlich had crashed, she had backed off her speed.

“I hope Emily is okay,” Stephens added. “I saw her when I came over the top of the climb, which reminded me to focus on safety first.”

Ehrlich was also expected to be a top contender at the Olympic trials in two weeks’ time. She has managed to send a message to the race organization, stating she is in good spirits, and doesn’t want people to worry about her. “She will be okay,” her team reassured.

At the end of the day, the GC saw a shake-up in the standings under Stephens and Nadia Gontova, who continue to sit in the top two spots. Alia Shafi moved into the top ten on GC, following her second-place finish for Fount Cycling Guild. Her teammate, Eleanor Wiseman, also moved up to fourth from tenth place as she heads into Saturday’s crit. PAS/Steve Tilford Foundation Racing’s Marcela Prieto slid down to fifth after finishing nineteenth on the stage. Cynisca Cycling’s Ashley Frye finished fourth, moving her into a podium position in third ahead of Saturday.

The UCI women race 27 laps at the Downtown Criterium presented by the Town of Silver City on Saturday starting at 1:30 MDT.

Stites Blasts Into Victory, Taking the Overall Lead at Tour of the Gila

At Tour of the Gila on Friday, Project Echelon’s Tyler Stites blasted through the finish, seizing the win with a time of 33:07 at the Tyrone Individual Time Trial presented by Freeport McMoran. He came close to the course record of 32:59 that was set by Levi Leipheimer in 2009. The current Pan Am Time Trial Champion, Walter Vargas, was second for Team Medellín, clocking a time of 33:18. Jonas Walton rounded the podium in third, finishing in 33:45 and moving into the lead of the Best Young Rider Classification.

Stites’s win marks the second stage win for the team at Tour of the Gila 2024, after winning four out of five stages at Redlands earlier this month. Stites takes over the GC with his victory with two stages

remaining. Team Medellín’s Wilmar Paredes had a tough day, finishing in 36:33 and sliding down to fourth on GC.

“It’s a tough course, the main goal was to win the stage and take the red which I accomplished,” Stites said. “I’m really happy about that. I definitely had my eye on the course record but came up short; it was a tough day out there. I was chasing Walter, which was my minute-man, so that was a good carrot to be chasing. I had him in sight so I had a good day.”

The 16.15-mile Individual Time Trial out-and-back course in Tyrone featured 1,188 feet (362 meters) of climbing. Straight out of the start house, the road pitches up for a Category 4 Little Burro climb, rapidly shifts into a fast descent passing the Freeport-McMoran Tyrone mine, the end of which signals the turn around to head back to the finish. Five miles before the finish, the Little Burro greets the riders again, this time descending at a gradient of 6-7% before streaming down into the finishing shoot.

Owen Wright of CS Velo Racing sat in the hot seat for most of the day, starting within the first 20 riders out of the start house. Wright clocked in at 34:02, enough to finish fifth. His teammate, Joshua Lebo, crossed the finish with his CS Velo team cheering him on, becoming the first rider to clock in under 34 minutes with 33:59 and ending up fourth on the stage.

The hot seat began to change rapidly once the final ten riders were coming in to the finish. Disappointment showed through the smile Vargas displayed as he talked about his performance. He had won the stage last year, and was hoping to defend his win, but still gave respect to Stites as he outshone him in Tyrone.

“This was a pretty demanding time trial, and the wind here is strong,” Vargas said. “I felt good and had good legs but Tyler [Stites] is also in very good form. I knew that he had won another race before Gila here in the United States, so he’s going very strong.”

Despite his loss on Friday, Vargas and Team Medellín look ahead to the final two stages, ready to battle for the GC.

“I’m sitting second on GC with two demanding stages to go, including the final that is a very, very hard stage,” Vargas said. “We hope to give everything and make it a good race on Sunday. Tomorrow, we have the crit, which is a fast and explosive one, so we will give it our all in these last two days.”

Stites won the Downtown Silver City Criterium in 2022, and expects the team to contest the sprint on Saturday before the final showdown Sunday. Important time bonuses will be available at the finish Saturday for the top three finishers, earning ten, six and four seconds respectively.

The pro men take the stage at 3:10 p.m. after a full day of amateur racing and following the pro women.
