4x4 / Jeep Adventure Trips

If you're excited about motorcycle adventures in any of the regions on our website,  the lowest cost way of having such a motorcycle trip is to do it self-guided!

One of the World's Most Expensive Hobbies (motorcycle riding) demands that we're careful with spending when possible, so by going "on your own" with one of our rental motorcycles, you'll be able to avoid the costs of having our guides and support staff with you.

In some regions, we offer pre-paid hotel packages with route notes or GPS to make the trip just a bit easier to carry out, but if you'd just like to rent a motorcycle and "go it alone," a self-guided tour might be just for you!

See All the Great Self-Guided Riding Trips We Offer Here!

Our Guided Group trips offer the ultimate in convenience for motorcycle travelers seeking a "turn key" solution for an amazing riding experience. Our bi-lingual guides make sure the tour route is enjoyed to the fullest extent, while a support truck driver carries all the luggage, necessary tools, parts, etc. to make the trip a safely realized success. Plus, as an added bonus to all of these amazing features, riders on guided trips typically end up making new riding friends from around the world over the course of these expeditions! Each of our trip pages will list if there is a guided tour available or contact us to learn more about your options.

Dual Sport Motorcycle Adventures

Whether you've been inspired by the motorcycle trip stories of Ewan McGregor & Charley Boorman riding BMW bikes around the world, or your own adventurous spirit brought you RIDE Adventures, rest assured: You're not alone in the quest for the next great dual sport trip!

Especially if you're the type of rider who constantly has the urge to break away and ride somewhere outside of a regular riding routine; the greatest off-pavement routes still remaining can be enjoyed through our rental motorcycles and/or Guided Group Tours. Not sure where the "best" place is for your next Dual Sport ride? Part of the service we provide is to offer unbiased advice, based on your wishes for an incredible trip!

See the Many Great Dual Sport Motorcycle Options We Offer!

Pavement Trips

If your plans to "Ride the World" mean you'd prefer staying on the pavement than riding the dirt, then we have a great and growing list of options to help you complete your mission. Some of these tours may still include 1-5% non-paved surfaces such as driveways, hard-packed gravel roads, but they're still the types of trips that nearly every motorcycle rider can handle (be sure to check the trip description or inquire with us.) Some of the finest roads full of twisties and long, sweeping curves can be ridden thanks to the motorcycle rentals and guiding services we offer, so if you want to RIDE the best paved routes around the world, you've found the right service provider!

Check out our list of trips that focus on the greatest paved route options in each region.

Private Group

We welcome your Private Group to any of the locations shown on www.rideadv.com! Whereas all the tours with exact dates shown are essentially "open to the public," our Private Group Tours are customizable and can take place on the exact dates your group wishes. We'll need a bit of info on the front end to establish exactly what type of terrain, scenery, accommodations, and motorcycles you'll want to be riding, and from that, RIDE Adventures will create the perfect motorcycle trip package.

So if your Private Group wants specific trip features, formats, or dates, then Contact Us about organizing your Private Group adventure! !

Whether you're on a motorcycle or in a 4x4 truck or Jeep, there are plenty of RIDE Adventures to enjoy! The option to rent one of our 4x4's not only makes it possible to explore the incredible regions shown on our website, but if you've got friends wanting to explore by motorcycle, they'll surely appreciate having you drive along with a support truck. Carrying their luggage and acting as a safety-back up in remote regions can prove extremely valuable to motorcycle riders. No matter what, adventure travelers can be assured that we've designed the best routes possible for exploring each region, and customization is even possible in most cases.

All your 4x4 adventure travel plans start by Contacting Us to check on availability , so don't wait to secure your dates.

We're All Over the World

Each location you see on the RIDE Adventures website has been well-researched and ridden by our Staff members long before we began offering these as trip packages. Although it can be difficult to decide between an adventure ride through Peru, Patagonia , Baja , Europe , or Asia for your next great trip, our combined expertise in these areas will help you choose the right option to "scratch that international adventure itch." If you're on a mission to RIDE the world piece by piece over time, we already have the rental motorcycles , 4x4 trucks , and other vehicles in these locations to make it possible.

As we continue to explore more of the world, keep checking back with us as new opportunities become available through RIDE Adventures!

CUSTOMER TESTIMONIALS

4x4 group tours

"Eric, I wanted to write a sincere thank you for our amazing experience with your two day training option right there in Bend Oregon on September 3rd and 4th. My brother Nick organized this trip. He owns his own KTM and rides often here in Western Colorado. His goal was to ride with us, his two brothers.

4x4 group tours

- Richard, we're glad if our Training Expedition in Oregon was a positive step forward in building your skillset for adventure riding, and look forward to seeing which bike you end up with : )

4x4 group tours

- David and Marina Belton enjoyed the variety of riding in Patagonia, from the tight, valley-lined roads to the wide open spaces on our "Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego & Ushuaia!" Self-Guided Motorcycle Trip Package. Come again, and thanks for sharing!

4x4 group tours

"W hat a fantastic trip. Lovely countries, great people, superb riding all facilitated by a very professional and friendly set up that you provided. Many thanks to all your support staff ahead of the adventure when all questions were responded to promptly and efficiently. I would not hesitate to recommend you to friends and will certainly use ride LLC again in the future.

4x4 group tours

-Eric Nijman from The Netherlands wrote these kind words on the heels of his Self-Guided, Truck Supported "Full Patagonia Adventure" motorcycle tour in early 2019. So glad you enjoyed, Eric, seems everyone who rides in Patagonia does : )

4x4 group tours

-Michael Potter and his wife, Helen must have enjoyed themselves, as so many of us do when riding and exploring the incredible land of Peru. They were part of our Guided Group "Machu Picchu Express" tour , and we look forward to riding with them again in the Andes, soon.

4x4 group tours

-Mark Stewart from Australia on the heels of a successful ride to Alaska with his friend Phil, and our Oregon-based motorcycle rentals . A pair of Africa Twin's, 2 experienced riders, the Pacific Northwest, British Columbia, Alberta, the Yukon, and all the moose, elk, bears, and other wildlife along the way, quite a journey a long time in the making. Just loved this picture as two voyagers were headed out of the shop that day. Come again, guys!

4x4 group tours

-Phill Whitford, thank you very much for your kind words about how your Self-Guided, Fly & DRIVE The Patagonia Experience trip package worked out! Come on back sometime and bring friends...we have motorcycles, too : )

" FYI, I got back to Uvalde Texas yesterday afternoon. It was a great trip, I would sum it up as successful. The hotels, restaurants, and bike you choose were the best. The route and scenery was unbelievable. The weather was a bigger obstacle than I expected as were some of the roads. Nothing really difficult but 2700 miles was a challenge. Did I tell you that I celebrated my 70th birthday during the ride?  Also I met lots of interesting people.  I’m headed to Colorado to ski in ten days. And then???

- Congratulations to Ed Carnes from Texas for celebrating his 70th year with a successful solo Self-Guided "Fly & RIDE Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego & Ushuaia" trip ! We sometimes wonder if some riders have read too much about the drama of Patagonia's conditions and are turned away as a result. Yes, winds and conditions can be tough sometimes, but Ed just showed us all how to do it: Be patient, keep at it, ride smart without showing off for your friends, and most careful, experienced dual sport riders can enjoy some of the world's best riding safely. This photo taken and recognized as the spot where RIDE Adventures was born by the simple thought " more people need to experience this ." Ed had a few clouds that day, but when that sun cracks and the waters turn bright blue ... oh what a site.

4x4 group tours

"Eric! We had a f___ing blast. We had a few WiFi-less days at the end or I would have written sooner. Yes- we hit a rabbit (or rather it hit us, pretty sure it was suicidal) in the road btw Perito Moreno and El Calafate. Shook us up for sure. As for mister rabbit- he exploded. The bike took it super well- he hit the crashbars which was lucky.sorry about any damage, looked purely cosmetic, but let me know! The bike itself was awesome- rey thinks the rear breaks might need to be replaced- it had enough brake pad to get us safely through the trip but the pads are pretty much toast by the end of our trip.

❤

- Congratulations Kendra and Rey for your marriage and honeymoon, and for choosing to spend that time riding the Self-Guided Fly & RIDE The Patagonia Experience! You were the first Riders of the season to complete this route, so congrats on the safe finish. As for the rabbit, sounds like he was too "rascally" : )

"My partner and I didn’t speak a bit of Spanish but we chose to do the 7 day self guided tour. I loved Colombia and its fantastic views. The people were friendly and the cities were full of history. Our point of contact, Ricardo, was awesome. He was incredibly helpful and friendly. He went above and beyond what we expected. He will be very successful in this business and you can’t go wrong with him on your side. The bikes were new and in great shape, absolutely perfect for the terrain. We had some problems but nothing we couldn’t deal with and it didn’t slow us down. It was planned for more off-road for us. We had mud, rocks, rain and landslides to deal with. It made it a true adventure!   I think you could ride the country for months and never ride the same road twice. WE WILL BE BACK!!!"

- Chris Coonshead and his buddy, David, seem to have discovered what Riders from around the world are talking about: Not only is Colombia perfectly safe to experience in person, but our Self-Guided "Fly & RIDE The Essential Colombia Adventure Ride" package makes it easy to have an experience like the one they had! Come on back, guys, the bikes and fun people of Colombia will be waiting : )

Large Group Events

Spring/summer/fall, large group off-road 4x4 tours or photo national park tours, let your next big event be unforgettable.

Tour pricing covers the park pass (if needed), photographic opportunity, tour guide and the information shared. It also includes snacks, drinks and cold weather gear. The transportation is provided at no cost, only a small amount pays for gas and maintenance of the tour trucks.

National Park Photo Tours

These are our mild photo tours that travel through Rocky Mountain National Park with spectacular views, breathtaking snowcapped mountains and wildlife viewings along the way. These tours include a walk to a waterfall, a stroll around a beautiful lake, and so much more. We have two custom trucks with  clear convertible tops with 9 foot tall gull wing doors with forward facing seats for great photo opportunities. We have heaters and blankets on board too.

Off-Road 4x4 Photo Tours

On this photo adventure we take you through a very special permitted part of the National Forest for some rugged off-road thrills, interpretive nature photo stops, and great music to boot. If you want a little more speed, adventure and Wahoo’s in a tricked out 4X4, then this is it, this is your choice!

Your professional guide will drive you up steep climbs and boulder fields, floating you out of your seat on the water bars. The highlight destination, in our opinion, is the private photo and viewing tower with 360 degree views, where you can see over 100 miles on a clear day.

Also, our pavilion, at the top of  Panoramic Peak Mountain,   is a great place to host large group events, which creates a genuine rustic mountain adventure experience.

Alpine Scenic 4x4 Tours

Corkscrew Pass and Beyond

Largest Variety of Landscapes!

Quick Details

  • Hour Glass Duration: Half-Day

Corkscrew Pass Group Tour

Be prepared to be mesmerized! After departing Ouray, this tour travels south on highway 550 through the most iconic section of The Million Dollar Highway. Moose are often spotted along the route before exiting onto dirt at Ironton Park. The tour immediately begins a climb through dense timber forests, and works its way up through Corkscrew Gulch. After negotiating a section of switchbacks, the tour crests out at 12,244′ in elevation at the top of Corkscrew Pass. Created by ancient volcanic activity, this unique mountain landscape boasts colors unsurpassed in the Rocky Mountains; the perfect opportunity to exit the truck for photos and a stretch!

Just like all of our jeep tours you will see wildlife along this route.  With a little luck you may spot moose, bear and bighorn sheep. Moose are more commonly spotted on this ride than the other greats! A few of the more commonly seen wildlife on this trail are mule deer, elk, marmot, chipmunk, ermine, pika, ptarmigan, grouse and redtail hawks! Here at Alpine, our mission is to put you on the wildlife while we are out touring.

Our experienced guides strive to deliver a well rounded 4×4 adventure for your family and friends. Flower and fungi identification are always fun and interesting to learn about. Corkscrew Pass may not be as well known for its wildflowers as other areas, but it always delivers fantastic viewing and photo opportunities for flora and fauna.  Depending on what time of the spring/summer/fall you are exploring with us, you can expect to see Columbine, blue bells, and Lupine on corkscrew.  You may even see mountain phlox or jasmine flower growing above treeline in scree fields. These flowers are very specific as they only like to grow in very specialized areas, so they are always a treat to view.   Scarlet paintbrush and fireweed are commonly spotted in some of the lower lying areas of this tour.   Looking to spot a particular flower? Mention it to your guide and you may be surprised! Our 2022 touring season was exceptionally wet, and thus produced some of the most amazing fungi growths here in the San Juans!  We saw King Boletus the size of basketballs! Colorado has one of the largest mycological habitats in the nation; somewhere between two and three thousand species of mushrooms call Colorado home!

The BEYOND highlight of this tour includes AT LEAST ONE of the following epic destinations – The Tarns (high altitude lakes), Hurricane Pass, California Pass, Lake Como, Mogul Mine, and Velocity Basin. ALL of our group tours include:

  • Restroom Stops
  • Opportunities to exit the truck for photos, on-foot excursions, or just to stretch the legs
  • Individual Bucket Seating
  • Seats that accommodate your own car seat/booster seat
  • Step Stools or Steps for easy entry/exit into truck
  • Awning/Rain Flies
  • Wind Screens
  • Personal Blanket for use during tour
  • First Aid Kit
  • Rain Ponchos
  • Well behaved lap dogs may ride for free

This tour is more adventurous than our Yankee Boy Basin Group Tour.

  • Tour length: 4 hours
  • PLEASE NOTE: Some higher roads can be snowed in until July but we will always have an alternative route planned if Corkscrew Pass is not accessible. Early season alternative routes include the rough and tumble “Amphitheater”, Yankee Boy Basin, Lower Imogene Pass, or the panoramic Cutler Creek Trail.

Tours, Attractions and Things To Do in Rostov

Perhaps the most exciting walk along the route of the Golden Ring awaits you in Rostov. This ancient city has preserved the unique atmosphere of medieval Russia thanks to its many monuments - ancient castles, churches, monasteries ... This unique heritage of the past testifies about the rich and long history of the city. Rostov is indeed one of the oldest Russian cities. It is mentioned in the chronicles from 862.

The background of Rostov tells that those lands were originally inhabited by pagan Finno-Ugric tribes, the Merya, who founded Sarskoye settlement there. Only in the 10th – 11th centuries the territory of Rostov became inhabited by Slavs who came from the north. In 988 Rostov lands were given to the great Russian ruler, Yaroslav the Wise. Then they were passed to his son Vsevolod and later, his grandson, Vladimir Monomakh and his descendants, Yuri Dolgoruky, Andrei Bogoliubsky etc. From the 10th to the 12th century Rostov along with Suzdal was the capital of the Rostov-Suzdal principality. Later, the center of principality moved to Vladimir.

In the beginning of the 13th century the independent principality of Rostov emerged. It was the time of the city’s unprecedented economic and cultural progress. The city grew with newly built churches, fortresses, palaces, and temples. Rostov became one of the largest cities in the northeast Russia. It was even called Rostov the Great, like Novgorod. No other city in Russia was granted such an honor. But the rapid prosperity of the city was interrupted by the Mongol invasion in 1238. However, the city quickly regained its grandeur. The infighting among the rulers of Rostov split it into separate parts. In the 13th century it was divided into Rostov, Yaroslavl and Uglich principalities. Using the weakness of the local rulers, Moscow princes took possession of Rostov lands. In the 15th century Rostov was fully annexed by Moscow.

In the times of Great Troubles Rostov was burned down and looted by the Polish-Lithuanian invaders. The end of the century in Rostov saw the beginning of the so-called Rostov Kremlin, the residence of Rostov metropolitans.

Besides, Rostov is famous for being the birthplace of St. Sergius of Radonezh, the founder of the Trinity-Sergius Lavra. The best souvenirs, brought from Rostov, will be the products with the famous Rostov “finift’” – the enamel painting.

PGA Tour awards $930 million to players in equity grants

T he PGA Tour informed players Wednesday of their individual grants in the tour’s new equity program and some of the game's biggest stars reportedly will get hefty checks.

The tour does not plan on publicly releasing the amounts, but the Telegraph reported earlier on Wednesday that Tiger Woods was set to receive a $100 million grant, with Rory McIlroy getting $50 million, and Justin Thomas and Jordan Spieth receiving $30 million each.

The first $930 million of grants were distributed Wednesday, with players getting a note from PGA Tour commissioner Jay Monahan (who also holds the CEO title of PGA Tour Enterprises) detailing their award. Tyler Dennis, the PGA Tour’s chief competitions officer, later went on Golf Channel’s “Golf Today” to explain the process.

RELATED: Questions and Answers on the tour's new equity program

“There’s no other sports league in the world that has this significant number of their athletes as owners of their own sports organization,” Dennis said. “And we’re really excited about it because, ultimately, we want to do what’s right. We want to grow the PGA Tour in many different ways and having the alignment of our pleasures as player odors with the organization is going to allow us to drive that quickly forward. We’re really excited about it.”

At the end of January the tour came to an agreement with the Strategic Sports Group for private investment, which coincided with the launch of PGA Tour Enterprises. The Enterprises division will house the PGA Tour’s commercial businesses and rights, as well as those of the DP World Tour. This will allow the tour to maximize revenue for itself and players while keeping the tour’s non-profit 501(c)(6) classification that carries tax exemptions for “business leagues, chambers of commerce, real estate boards, boards of trade, and professional football leagues” intact. SSG has pledged up to $3 billion to PGA Tour Enterprises with an initial $1.5 billion investment. Players were told they would receive equity into PGA Tour Enterprises, which the tour says has a valuation of $12 billion. The grants are based on playing accomplishments, future participation and tour status.

The grants were divided into four categories:

• Group 1 consists of $750 million in aggregate equity based on career performance, last 5-year performance, and Player Impact Program results. A total of 36 players were in this group.

• Group 2 consists of $75 million in aggregate equity and was granted to 64 players based on last 3-year performance.

• Group 3 consists of $30 million in aggregate equity and was granted to 57 players that have earned certain fully-exempt PGA Tour status categories.

• Group 4 consists of $75 million in aggregate equity and was granted to 36 players who were instrumental to building the modern PGA Tour, based on career performance.

There is an eight-year vesting period, where the grants will be worth 50 percent of their value after four years, 75 percent after six and the full amount at the end of eight. Not all players necessarily received a grant, although all—including young and future tour players—have the chance to receive grants down the line. An additional $600 million is earmarked towards these stakes. The $600 million will be awarded in recurring player grants of $100 million each year, starting in 2025.

“We want the players to be fully aligned with their organization,” Dennis said. “It’s something no other sport has done before and we’re seeing an incredible amount of excitement about that.”

The equity is essentially the tour’s answers to the opulent guaranteed payouts distributed by LIV Golf. Dennis did not say if LIV Golf members would get the chance to be a part of the equity show unification in the professional game ultimately come to fruition. The tour announced in January that the deal with SSG will allow for co-investment from PIF in the future, but there are antitrust regulations that need to be hurdled, and Congress has announced that its investigation into PIF and its investments in American businesses will continue.

On April 24, 2024, the MICHELIN Guide revealed the brand new list of One, Two, and Three Key hotels in the United States. In this first ever announcement of MICHELIN Keys in the United States, hotels in Atlanta, California, Chicago, Colorado, Florida, New York, and Washington DC were eligible for the distinction. This announcement of the most outstanding hotels in the country comes four years into a comprehensive refresh of our hotel selection. The MICHELIN Guide now includes over 5,000 hotels across the world, and not a single one is simply a room for the night. These are places that significantly add to your experience as a traveler, each vetted and judged excellent in five categories: architecture and interior design, quality and consistency of service, overall personality and character, value for the price, and a significant contribution to the guest experience in a particular setting. Which brings us back to the Keys. The culmination of countless hours of evaluation by our team of experts, the Key hotels below represent the highlights of our broader selection. Like the MICHELIN Stars for restaurants, the MICHELIN Keys are our most outstanding hotels. In total, the 2024 MICHELIN Guide hotel selection in the United States includes 11 Three Key hotels, 33 Two Key hotels, and 80 One Key hotels. Want to know more about the MICHELIN Key? The Three Key Club in New York City

Expect: The highest luxury and impeccable design in Soho, Midtown, and the Financial District. Within the small club of Three Key hotels in the United States, four make their home in New York City. The Aman New York (Midtown) and Casa Cipriani (the Financial District) both make use of glamorous Beaux Arts buildings, the former a gold-crowned skyscraper in Midtown, the latter a glamorously restored ferry terminal at the very southern tip of Manhattan. Each is a refuge: an elegant, painstakingly designed escape from bustling city life. Meanwhile, two Firmdale hotels round out the list of Three Key hotels in New York City. Each is a quintessential example of the style and execution of the group’s co-owner and interior designer, Kit Kemp. Jewels on the Coast: Up and Down California

Its sheer breadth of size and variety means it’s no surprise to announce California as the state with the most Key hotels in America. Here, we’ll point you towards coastal gems like the sublime architectural achievements in Big Sur ( Post Ranch Inn and Ventana ), beachside luxuries in Santa Monica (in particular: the newly opened Georgian ), and wine country favorites like SingleThread and the Madrona . What we love: how each one of these hotels opens the door to the very best of their locations — and gives us a look at each setting through fresh eyes.

Across America: The Golden Age of Celebrity

Our French Keys bask in the tradition of ancient vineyards, stone chateaus, and historic palaces. In the United States, we see a different tradition. In Los Angeles, places like Chateau Marmont , the Paramour Estate , Sunset Tower , and the Charlie date back to guests and residents as illustrious as Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe. These are spaces that play ingeniously with their history, even as they forge ahead with cutting-edge amenities and experiences. But it’s not just California. New York’s historic artist hotspot, the Hotel Chelsea , once hosted Bob Dylan and Andy Warhol. Today, it decorates every space with art donated by former residents. Look too to the Chicago Athletic Association , a former member’s club for 20th century business magnates and athletes — now among the city’s most impressive and vibrant hotels. Here’s why an underwear company partnered with pga tour caddies.

In a unique partnership within the world of professional golf, the underwear brand SAXX has teamed ... [+] with a group of caddies instead of players.

While professional golfers get the headlines and notoriety, it’s caddies that help with the dirty work behind the scenes and often out of the public eye. So perhaps it’s only fitting a men’s underwear brand, SAXX, chose to pursue a partnership with five PGA Tour caddies.

Two of the caddies – Geno Bonnalie, who works with Joel Dahmen, and John Elllis, who is teamed with reigning U.S. Open champion Wyndham Clark – have had greater visibility recently through their appearances on the Netflix Netflix docuseries about professional golf, Full Swing. The others to sign the group endorsement deal with SAXX, which first ventured into golf sponsorship a year ago, are Aaron Flener (J.T. Poston), John Limanti (Keith Mitchell) and Joel Stock (Will Zalatoris).

SAXX has been around since 2006 and, with its patented BallPark Pouch, lays claim to being the first pouch underwear brand in the market. When the brand looked at getting involved in golf from a promotional perspective, Vice President of Brand Marketing Shawna Olsten said SAXX gravitated toward pro caddies because they’re often overlooked on the course and could be featured in a fun, authentic way.

Perhaps not suprisingly, as part of the Ball Masters campaign there is plenty of publicity and marketing language tied in to one of the main caddie responsibilities: taking care of their player’s golf balls. And that, of course, plays into the primary responsibility of SAXX’s underwear.

While specific terms of the deal weren’t disclosed, the group of five pro caddies will receive more than $100,000 in total and wear not only the company’s underwear on the course, but its new chino-style shorts and cooling polo shirts.

The group of five PGA Tour caddies who teamed with SAXX will wear the brand's underwear, as well as ... [+] shorts and polo shirts, on the course during tournaments this year.

In addition, SAXX will hold a fan activation at an upcoming PGA Tour event, the Travelers Championship in Connecticut, and said it will donate $100 to the Testicular Cancer Foundation for every birdie made by the caddies’ players for the rest of the season. The company is also on a search to find golf fans to become honorary “Ball Masters,” with winning applicants getting free underwear for a year.

As part of its continued reach into the golf space, SAXX is targeting resort and hotel as one of its fastest emerging wholesale channels and has secured product placements at properties such as JW Marriott, Ritz Carlton and Fairmont that have well-known golf destinations. But uniquely teaming with caddies instead of players is proving to be the brand’s most high profile venture in expanding its visibility in the golf world.
