These 7 Outfits Master Summer Airport Style
Look fresh straight off the plane with these fashion editor-approved styling hacks.
How to Pick an Airport Outfit This Summer
My friends and I planned a week-long getaway to Costa Rica, and I've got a full packing list of trendy bikinis , airy linen pants , and breezy beach dresses , but one of the most important and often overlooked travel staples is a great summer airport outfit. Planning that outfit ahead can ensure the trip gets off to a smooth start as you get dressed in the dark for a 5 am flight. It's one less thing to think about—whether you're headed off on a fun girls' trip or headed into more serious business matters.
Heading to a vacation destination is usually a bit more forgiving than traveling for work, which can be one of the biggest wardrobe puzzles. Traveling for business often requires you to head straight off the plane into a busy day of meetings. But that doesn't mean you have to dress in stiff, uncomfortable business attire. With smart outfit formulas and a few wardrobe workhorses, you'll be equipped with several foolproof looks you can wear repeatedly— even if you're a frequent flyer.
If you're traveling through different climates, pack an extra layer—like a lightweight cardigan or a cashmere wrap—that you can easily throw over your shoulders when you arrive and will keep you from freezing on chilly planes. Going on a quick weekend trip that doesn’t require a huge checked bag? Bringing a large tote can be a great organizational hack for storing your smaller bags through crowded terminals and winding TSA lines.
From oversized blazers paired with T-shirts and sleek leggings to matching sweat sets styled with summer's trending chunky sneakers , Marie Claire's curated seven do-it-all airport outfits that have street-style and celebrity seals of approval.
- Lightweight Layers
Although you're bound to experience balmy weather during a day of summer travel, you'll likely encounter chilly temperatures as soon as you step foot in the airport (and even more so while seated in the aircraft cabin). That's why it's essential to pack a lightweight layering piece like a knit cardigan , a fleece hoodie , or a soft crewneck sweatshirt.
- Comfortable Fabrics
Between navigating airport security, speeding through terminals, and tracking down your luggage at baggage claim, a travel day usually means getting your steps in. That said, you'll want to wear comfortable fabrics (especially on the bottom) that will allow you to get around easily. Soft leggings, cotton sweatpants , and linen trousers are all great options to incorporate into your summer airport outfit formula.
- Supportive Footwear
The airport is not the place to experiment with pointy stilettos or sky-high platforms (if you must wear heels, pack them in your carry-on bag and slip them on as soon as you land). Instead, choose cushioned sneakers, sandals with arch support, and supportive flats— ballet flats are a great option that checks all of the boxes.
The Best Summer Airport Outfit Formulas
For the long-haul flight.

Prioritize comfort while wearing a cozy T-shirt and a pair of stretchy leggings.
The most versatile summer airport outfit involves two simple essentials: a T-shirt and a pair of leggings . I've worn this look time and again to get through long travel days, and it never fails. Whether sprinting to catch my plane or moving around an aircraft during a long-haul flight, I can always rely on a fitted tee and a pair of forgiving pants to provide easy mobility— and to sleep in if I need to. Elevate this look by wrapping a cardigan across your shoulders, popping on a pair of chunky hoops , and grabbing a large carry-on that's roomy enough to store all the in-flight essentials.
When You're Short on Time
There's something about a matching sweat set that feels super polished, especially when styled with chic black accessories.
A comfortable sweatsuit can do no wrong, especially on days when you don't have much time to plan your airport look. A monochromatic approach keeps the look polished and won't require much extra styling. Anchor a light neutral matching set with contrasting black accessories, like a versatile crossbody bag and a pair of sleek sunglasses. Pro Tip: Wear a tank top beneath your hoodie in case you need to shed a layer.
Straight From the Plane to Meetings
For the business traveler who must look chic at all times, you'll appreciate this outfit.
Traveling for work instead of leisure? If so, your post-flight day will likely be packed with client coffees or business lunches; unfortunately, sweatpants and leggings won't cut it. You'll want more of the Nicole Kidman airport outfit approach. Count on a pair of tailored trousers , a fitted middle layer, and an outer sweater to look polished but not stuffy. Pair the look with pointed-toe flats and ladylike accessories— like pearl earrings.
For the Weekend Trip
Graphic T-shirts are undeniably fun. Wear yours to the airport with a pair of flowy pants to match.
A playful design, like a graphic tee, can add an element of fun to any pared-down airport outfit. Play with proportion with a loose-fitting T-shirt and a flowy pair of pants that feel relaxed but capture your personal style— you can also re-wear these pieces for a short weekend trip. Pack a sweater or light denim jacket in your carry-on or weekend bag to have you have an extra layer for the plane.
From Landing Straight to Lunch
Wearing jeans to the airport feels like a cardinal sin, but it doesn't have to be.
Okay, I know what you’re thinking: Who wears jeans on an airplane? Yes, you can easily incorporate denim into your summer airport outfit—just opt for an oversized or relaxed silhouette. Pair the look with an oversized sweatshirt and easy slip-on slide sandals. Head straight to lunch with your friends— no change necessary.
A Fuss-Free Sightseeing Look
A simple yet chic look will easily take you from the airport to the streets of your destination.
If you've got a bunch of sightseeing lined up on your itinerary as soon as you land, your outfit will have to master versatility–comfy enough to wear on the plane yet stylish enough for a day of strolling through museums, restaurants, and promenades. A black tank top, a pair of lightweight pants, and white sneakers will get the job done. Opt for a leather backpack to keep your hands free.
From Warm to Cold Climates (Or Vice Versa)
A chilly destination calls for layers.
Not all summer vacations are tropical. In fact, some of us are opting for chilly destinations to escape grueling temperatures. For this type of trip, the right outerwear is absolutely key. A sturdy trench coat is a great choice to provide warmth without taking up space on the plane. If you're traveling from a warm to cold climate, style your trench with an all-white outfit and neutral accessories.

Creating Chic Travel Outfits
Who doesn’t love going on vacation and traveling to a new destination? I know I definitely do!
But while I love exploring new places, I also know that travel days can be pretty hectic! It’s important to be prepared with comfortable outfits you can easily spend the day in while navigating airports or sitting in rental cars.
If you’re in need of fashionable and functional travel outfits, you’ll love my looks below. I have airport outfits for every style and season, so whether you’re traveling to a tropical paradise or a winter wonderland, you’ll be set!
denim jacket + a puffer vest
get the look:
Layers are a must if you’re traveling in the fall or winter! I love starting my travel ensemble with basics like my Lululemon Align leggings and oversized Jil Sander tee (more affordable option here ) , then layering as needed.
Above, I added my Madewell denim jacket and Quince puffer vest to keep me warm and cozy both on and off the plane!
leggings+ a bomber jacket
An oversized tee and black leggings are the start of my airport outfit here as well, but this time, I’m staying warm with a sleek and modern bomber jacket .
I recommend choosing an outfit like this when it’s a little warmer out. The jacket is perfect for staying warm in a cold airport but can easily be removed as needed. And, these New Balance 574 sneakers are so comfortable!
linen pants + a denim jacket
Drawstring linen pants are an absolute essential in my spring and summer wardrobe! They are so comfortable and easy to wear during a travel day, and the denim jacket is stylish and adds a layer of warmth – airplane AC is always so intense!
I love this Quince phone crossbody for convenience (it fits a passport too) . And I always recommend wearing sneakers or other comfy footwear when traveling – bonus points if your shoes can be easily slipped off and on when going through security!
wool coat + Ugg slippers
Looking for the ultimate cozy travel outfit?
Leggings and Ugg Tasman slippers are definitely my go-to for comfort in the cooler months (the Uggs have been selling out constantly, so here’s a perfect high-quality Tasman dupe ) . And a long wool camel coat is not only chic but also perfect for layering – it doubles as a blanket on the plane!
I also love this long knitted coatigan from Mango as a great travel piece.
travel in neutrals
I love simple, neutral outfits because they always look effortless and stylish. A plain white tee and black linen drawstring pants are ultra-comfy but still have a chic, put-together aesthetic.
This outfit is great for summer traveling, but I always bring a sweater with me so I don’t get too cold on the plane.
bomber jacket + joggers
This is another cold-weather travel outfit that I love! Lululemon fleece joggers and a crewneck sweatshirt are great base layers and the bomber jacket adds an extra cozy feel.
And if you ask me, this ensemble has a laid-back, sporty feel, making adidas Samba sneakers and a baseball cap the perfect finishing touch!
More Comfy Airport Outfits
I’ve stalked my favorite fashion influencer and have found even more comfy travel airports that are modern and chic. I think you’ll love them too!
trench coat + trousers
You don’t have to be traveling to France to dress like a Parisian while on vacation!
A trench coat is a classic piece in French fashion, and with good reason. It’s lightweight, versatile, and oh-so chic – what more could you want for an airport outfit?
I recommend using a trench coat to layer over other pieces when traveling in cold weather or to stay dry while out and about on rainy days. A trench coat can also be used for a modern and refined look, making it perfect for any occasion!
matching sweat set
I think a matching sweatsuit set makes a perfect travel outfit because it’s comfortable and versatile. You can wear a sweatsuit set to stay warm while traveling in the fall or winter, and you can wear it as is or add layers if needed.
And I love that you can double up on a matching set by using it to build other outfits during your trip.
try (comfortable) denim
Jeans are a must to bring along when traveling, and you can’t go wrong wearing it as part of your airport outfit, so long as your jeans are comfortable and not too snug !
One thing I love about jeans is how easy they are to care for. Jeans can be worn days in a row before needing to be washed (especially in cold weather) , so being a low-maintenance and versatile piece makes them great for traveling in my opinion.
cozy shearling coat
A warm coat will keep you ultra-comfy as you fly. And if you ask me, a shearling coat or shacket is a travel piece you can’t go wrong with! This piece will keep you warm even on the coldest days, and it’s also fashionable and versatile enough to wear with so many outfits.
Such a chic and neutral-toned coat is a must if you’re traveling to or from somewhere chilly. And this coat will look great while keeping you cozy everywhere from the airplane to local cafes to must-see landmarks!
leggings + a denim jacket
If you want to know one of the best things to wear while traveling, look no further than a classic pair of leggings.
Comfortable and stretchy leggings are a perfect piece to wear, whether you’ll be walking through an airport or sitting on a plane. I suggest searching for a pair made of breathable material and one with pockets for easy access to your phone and other essentials.
a long, cozy coat
If you plan on traveling in the fall or winter ( or maybe your destination will have chilly weather ), bringing a coat is a no-brainer. And I think a long coat like this is an easy way to add a stylish and modern aesthetic to your outfits.
A piece like this will keep you nice and cozy during a busy day of traveling, and you’re sure to use it when trying local cuisine or attending a wine tasting. I love that it adds an elegant touch to a simple outfit like this, so you know you can pair this with any look, both casual and refined.
What should I wear to an airport in the summertime?
If you’ll be spending time at the airport in the summer, you will want an outfit that is both comfortable and cool. Choose lightweight and breathable pieces such as:
- Short-sleeved tee or tank top
- Lightweight leggings
- Flowy dress
- Midi or maxi skirt
- Cotton button-up shirt
- Linen blazer
- Sandals or sneakers
Comfy Airport Outfits for Summer
There are tons of cute airport outfits that are perfect for hot summer days. I’ve got my favorite comfy airport outfits for summer below, so you don’t have to sweat it when packing or traveling!
a maxi dress
What would the summer be without gorgeous flowy dresses to spend your days in? This breezy piece will keep you comfy and cool throughout your day, and it will definitely be comfortable to wear while sitting on a plane.
And in my opinion, a dress is a great piece to bring along on your vacation. You can style it casually as you travel or when checking out local spots at your destination, and it can easily be transformed into a chic date night look with a high-end handbag and some gold-toned jewelry.
linen trousers + a tank
Next on the list of comfy airport outfits for summer are flowy, linen pants. These are another fantastic travel piece you can wear for any occasion, from laid-back to classy and refined. So whether you plan on exploring tourist hot spots or dining on gourmet cuisine, these pants will fit into your vacation looks effortlessly.
I also think that crisp light-colored pants are perfect for a summer outfit, and the relaxed fit also makes them comfy enough for long travel days. They’ll fit easily into your luggage, and these lightweight trousers will definitely be a staple in your vacation wardrobe.
oversized blazer + bike shorts
I know I’m not the only one who loves layering an oversized blazer over any outfit!
Adding a blazer to an outfit is a great way to elevate your look when it comes to comfy airport outfits for summer. A blazer instantly adds a stylish and modern vibe to any ensemble, so it’s a perfect styling piece to bring while traveling.
oversized button-up
Cotton button-up shirts are a great way to feel comfortable and look chic in the summer. I suggest wearing this versatile piece over a crop top and black leggings, like in the outfit above, or keep it buttoned and tied in the front for a cute and casual aesthetic.
A button-up shirt is also another perfectly versatile piece for an airport outfit. I love that you can wear it out for a fancy dinner, pair it with jeans for a casual look, or layer it over a bikini during a tropical vacation.
matching skirt + tank
Go for maximum comfort and style in a stretchy, ribbed midi skirt and a matching top! A skirt and top set like this are lightweight and breezy but still offer plenty of coverage while traveling.
You’ll also have a perfect piece to wear for anything from sightseeing to a night out. And, my favorite thing about a matching set is that it can be kept together or mixed and matched with other pieces in your travel wardrobe. So you’ll have plenty of outfit options to choose from while on vacation.
bike shorts + hoodie
In my opinion, running shorts and a hoodie are great for casual and comfy airport outfits. The biking shorts are very travel-friendly since they’re easy to spend a whole day in and won’t take up much space in your bag. Plus, you can wear them as part of other laid-back outfits or if you plan to stay on top of your workout routine on your trip.

When it comes to the best travel outfits for women, accessories play a critical role in keeping you comfy and organized. And of course, no travel outfit would be complete without a fashionable (and functional!) carry-on bag on your arm or atop your luggage . This bag should house all of your essentials and still level up your airport outfit. Keep reading for some of the best travel and airport outfit ideas your next trip.

Spanx AirEssentials Wide-Leg Pants
Sometimes nothing less than sweats will do, and here is where Spanx really excels. Oprah picked these for her 2022 Favorite Things , saying, “You might know Spanx for its shapewear, but it also does fantastic cozy clothes. When I tell you this set feels light as air, I’m not kidding. It’s my new leisure suit. The perfectly loose-and-lightweight fabric is like buttah!”
Vuori Elevation Trouser in Midnight Heather
Vuori is celebrated for its super-cozy pieces. The best thing about these pants? They look put together while the stretch-knit fabric is as comfy as your favorite Vuori loungers. The high-rise waist and loose fit of the leg give you an effortlessly stylish silhouette.
Girlfriend Collective Compressive Pocket Legging
Leggings are a perfect choice for traveling wear. And these have Oprah's seal of approval, as they were picked for Oprah's 2022 Favorite Things list. Eco-friendly and size-inclusive (the range goes through 6XL), these compression leggings are available in a plethora of hues. Plus, they feature double-side seaming and pockets.
Dr. Scholl's Time Off Platform Sneakers
Celebrated for their consciously comfortable footwear, these sneakers from Dr. Scholl's are tricked out with tons of features for all-day comfort. Inside, anatomical cushioning and arch support keep you covered while a lightweight, anti-slip platform sole protects on the outside. This minimalist sneaker looks just as good with a matching suit as it does a low-key sweat set.
J. Crew Cashmere-Wool Travel Wrap
Let's be honest, you can't always count on the airline's blankets to keep you warm, and some even leave annoying fluff behind. Stay warm and stylish with your own wearable blanket by way of this travel necessity from J. Crew that comes in eight different colors.
Athleta Everlasting Button-Down Top
A classic button-down is a travel essential that elevates any in-transit look. Athleta's Everlasting button-down has all the details you need: a lightweight, odor-control stretch fabric and longer length for coverage. Luckily, you can cover all your neutral bases with navy, black, and white. Plus, it comes in an extended range of sizes from XXS to 3X.
Chico's Travelers No Tummy Pants
Chico's Travelers collection is made from wrinkle-resistant fabrics in comfortable silhouettes. Thanks to a pull-on waist and front darts, these No Tummy Pants are flattering and always look put together. The perfect pant does not exist—wait, yes it does, and here it is. This high-rise flare option is designed with premium ponte fabric and a comfortable pull-on design for maximum comfort and easy styling on your flight. Plus, it comes in size XS to 3X, so there's something for everyone.
Hoka Transport GTX Sneakers
Hoka's sneakers are cult Oprah Daily office favorites and podiatrist-approved . Not only do they look good with just about everything, but the Transport GTX also offer quick-toggle lacing for an easy on-off, as well as a full-length EVA midsole for the highest level of cushioning and arch support.
Spanx Women's AirEssentials 1/2 Zip Sweater
Sometimes nothing less than sweats will do, and here is where Spanx really excels. Oprah picked this top for her 2023 Favorite Things , saying, “Wow. Wow. Wow. May I tell you I got this set last year? I wore it in a photo shoot for O Quarterly and never looked back...” Why not pair it with the coordinating wide-leg pants for a full sweatsuit?
Dr. Motion Compression Socks with Enhanced Cushioning (3 Pack)
Compression socks are always a good ideal for traveling. We recommend these styles from Dr. Motion that offer graduated compression of 8 to 15 mmHg while providing arch support. Unlike other socks that can feel scratchy or clammy, these are soft, moisture-wicking, and subtly cushioned.
Everlane Organic Cotton Honeycomb Cardigan
This gorgeous honeycomb cotton cardigan is part of the latest iteration of Everlane Editions: The Art of Spring Layering. Crafted from responsibly sourced and lower-impact materials, this 100 percent organic cotton knit is ideal for layering before, during, and after your flight.
32º DEGREES Lightweight Recycled Poly-Fill Shirt Jacket
Sometimes a full on coat is not needed for travel, but you can never be quite sure of the weather. That's why a a little packable shacket—part shirt, part jacket—comes in. In black, olive green, or dark blue, the jacket will be your go-to for travel. Keep in mind, it runs slightly big in order to allow for comfortable layering of hoodies or sweaters underneath. There's a reason why Oprah tapped it on her Favorite Things list .
JW PEI Aylin Canvas Cellphone Crossbody Bag
Making sure you have all your essentials when going through airport security can be tough, but with this crossbody, you'll have your phone and cards right at hand.
Birdies Vesper Seven-Layer Cloud Comfort Loafers

Plus, the Vesper comes in sizes 5 to 12, and a range of colors like silver leather and cappucino with raffia accents.
Naadam Original 100 Percent Cashmere Sweater
Warm, soft, and chic—few things are as reliable as a plain cashmere sweater. At under $100, Naadam's perfect crewneck comes in core and limited-edition hues. Pro tip: Order a size or two larger than your usual for an ultra-cozy fit. And what's more, the sweater is machine-washable (yes, you read that right).
Original Puffer Hug Scarf
If you're traveling for business to a location that you're not thrilled about, chances are you are in need of a hug. Don't worry, this puffer hug scarf doubles as a warm wrap to keep you cozy and a hug to make you feel loved. It's fleece-lined with deep pockets so you can also store your ID and credit card without any issues.
Asutra Silk Eye Mask & Pillow
Oprah chose this eye mask for her 2023 Favorite Things list. "Sleeping with a mask is life-changing—I cannot tell you how much the quality of my sleep has improved," she said. "This weighted 100 percent silk one stays down and doesn’t let even a pinch of light in.” Co-owned by superstar Venus Williams, Asustra produces eye pillows that are filled with lavender and flax. Whether you want to meditate or snooze during your flight, this adjustable mask will definitely relax you.

So, what is the best outfit for the airport? What should I wear on a summer flight? And more importantly, how do I style myself for the airport? The answers to all these questions can be found in the latest fashion trends for spring/summer 2024. With sunshine days ahead, it is time to upgrade the basics with merry colors, prints and patterns as well as flattering silhouettes. Allow us to help you unlock your hot girl summer era with these copy-paste outfit templates that you’ll want to wear long after you’ve stepped out of the airport.
Peplum top + medium wash denims
- Looking for something with more sartorial flair than a basic white tee? Allow us to put forth a playful pop of peplum for your consideration.
- While you have seen this silhouette pop on red carpets and office parties alike, how do you make it work for catching a long-haul flight?
- First, look for organic cotton numbers that cozy enough to catch a nap in. Then, consider your choice of colors: white and soft neutrals can always be paired with your favorite pair of medium wash jeans.
Before you head out the door: For a light pop of color in your airport style for summer, slide on some stacked bracelets around your wrists. ‘Tis an arm party and everyone is invited.

Floral skirts + white tee
- If you haven’t twirled your way through Instagram in a whimsical skirt, is it even really summer ?
- For this season, consider sunshine-ready prints. The vibe? Just popped in from a day spent in the orchards.
- To avoid overthinking the styling choices, allow the print to have its time in the spotlight and pair it with a boat-necked white tee.
Before you head out the door: Why not extend the memo to the rest of your style choices? We’re betting big on beaded bracelets that will take you back in time to summer camp.
Gathered floral-print cotton-poplin midi skirt, Erdem
Floral-print twill midi skirt, Stella McCartney + Net Sustain
Pajama set + pointy-toed flats
- Hoping to catch some shut-eye during an overnight flight? There’s only one sartorial option to consider for your next summer airport attire : a luxe pajama set.
- No longer the remit of the boudoir, daytime pajamas have been elevated beyond imagination. You’ll find It-girls wearing theirs partially untucked to add some definition to the silhouette.
- As you swathe your skin in the lustrous touch of silk-satin, round out your airport look for summer with pointy flats to peek out from below the hem. The final result? Not your bedtime jammies anymore.
Before you head out the door: Given the high-shine finish of silks and satins, you’ll want to attempt a tempered approach to accessorizing for summer airport outfits. How about some ultra-fine layered necklaces for a barely-there glimmer of metallics?

Printed playsuit + straw bag
- Getting in and out of a jumpsuit doesn’t exactly inspire notions of comfort—not when you might be expected to leg it across terminals at a moment’s notice.
- This is where playsuits come in—the fun big-city cousin whom everyone always wants to be around.
- Think summery prints and hues like vintage florals and linen fabrics that will allow your skin to breathe free.
Before you head out the door: Looking for some extra credit on your summer style assignment? There’s something about the allure of a straw bag that will have you dreaming of endless days by the sand and the surf.

Co-ord set + espadrilles
- It is impossible to return from any quest for airport style inspiration without a co-ord set or two—or twenty!—tucked away in your cart.
- After all, such is the nature of these done-for-you sets that require minimal styling effort on days when you are catching an early flight in the AM.
- Looking to make this style truly yours? Wear the co-ord set as it is or leave it partially unbuttoned to allow a tank top to peek through.
Before you head out the door: Espadrilles and summers are a match made in heaven. You are about to find out why when you are shuttled from one end of the terminal to the other in endless comfort with a platform-heeled iteration.

Pleated skirt + light layers
- There is no contesting the staying power of a pleated skirt—and now they are making inroads into the travel wear section of your closet as well.
- If you are jetting off to a glamorous city for the long weekend, reach for the fuss-free silhouette of a pleated number that can be paired with a silk camisole in a coordinated hue.
Before you head out the door: If you are hoping not to catch a chill on the flight, layer your look with a light cardigan or longline blazer for nailing effortless chic on the summer airport outfit assignment.

Bodysuit + wide-legged trousers
- Looking to move beyond the world of basic tank tops? Consider adding a bodysuit to your moodboard for travel wardrobe inspiration.
- When styled correctly, they can serve as the foundation of a chic look that guarantees ease of movement in your summer airport outfits.
- For the summer, you’ll find bright pops of color are your one true friend. Pair the look with wide-legged trousers and you are good to go.
Before you head out the door: If you are looking to check two trends in one, how about a pair of white denims instead?

Culottes + mules
- If you thought your options for bottomwear were restricted to denim jeans, think again.
- The comfort-first silhouette of culottes makes it a mainstay in airport summer outfits.
- Move over, slack and basic leggings. It is time to infuse some summery spirit into your summer airport travel outfits by embracing flowy silhouettes. Bonus points for snagging a resort-ready pair with appliqué cutouts.
Before you head out the door: What if an uncomfortable pair of shoes derails your quest for comfy summer airport outfits? Not on our watch. Step into a pair of mules and your toes will thank you for it later.

Summer dress + raffia tote
- How do you tell us it is summer without telling us it’s summer? Only one sartorial staple can get the job done.
- We are talking, of course, about the quintessential summer dress. A much-revered rite of passage of the season, your airport wardrobe is incomplete until you have found The One.
- So, what goes into the making of the perfect summer dress? Buttery-soft cotton! Bouncy pleats! Mood-enhancing prints! Check all three of these in one outfit and you have hit the motherlode of comfortable airport outfits for summer.
Before you head out the door: Nothing says summer quite like the sun-kissed touch of raffia in your handbag wardrobe. Sling on a neutral-hued shoulder bag to let the world know that you are ready for your next big adventure.

Tiered dress + lace-up sandals
- Bye-bye bodycon, it is the summer of the comfy silhouettes that allow maximum ease of movement.
- When scouring for airport summer outfit ideas, you’ll want to look for billowing numbers for breezy, on-the-go style.
- Look for a breezy, floaty tiered dress that will make you feel that you are wafting among the clouds—even when you are standing in a never-ending immigration queue.
Before you head out the door: To complete the vision of effortless comfort, you’ll want the right footwear options to round out your airport look. Might we suggest the easy elegance of lace-up sandals?

Crochet top + boyfriend jeans
- Every year, the onset of summer inspires us to bring out our finest crochet accessories—how about this season, you invite your summer airport outfits to join the fun?
- A fresh crop of colors, hues and patterns will have you rethinking everything you have known about this style. Let’s just say, it’s not your grandma’s knits anymore.
- Slightly tapered at the ankle with a relaxed fit, the perfect pair of boyfriend jeans will serve as an easy companion to have by your side.
Before you head out the door: String some multi-hued enamel jewelry around your ears and wrists for a playful pop of color.

Scarf-style top + straight-legged trousers
- There are days when your search for airport looks for summer is purely driven by comfort. And then, there are those days when you want a little more polish. After all, you never know who you might bump into at the check-in queue.
- Those looking for the latter will want to head right this way—the tailored elegance of a scarf-detailed top beckons.
- Detailed with a wraparound scarf, this style can be worn as it is with monochrome trousers or layered over a lightweight tee for a more modest approach to summer airport outfits.
Before you head out the door: Stash all your essentials in a leather tote and you’re ready for whatever the day brings.

Kaftan + bucket bag
- On days when you are stuck wondering, “what should I wear to the airport in summer?” one sartorial staple has all the answers.
- Kaftans might look at home when you have a mimosa in your hand by the beach, but you can always get the party started early.
- Reserve the kaleidoscopic prints for poolside lounging and instead, look for geometric motifs and comfy cottons to jet around the airport in style.
Before you head out the door: Torn between your favorite carry-all tote and the simplicity of a crossbody bag? The semi-structured silhouette of a bucket bag will help you strike a merry compromise. Best of both worlds, yes?

Shirtdress + ballet flats
- How to look classy at the airport? By offering an elevated touch to everyday basics, of course.
- If you are looking to explore new and unexpected ways to wear denims, can we interest you in the ease and practicality of a denim shirtdress?
- The one-and-done silhouette won’t require much styling effort after a busy day of packing, but you can always loop a skinny belt around your waist for a more structured look.
Before you head out the door: For styling a midi dress, you’ll want to tap into the go-anywhere ease of a pair of ballet flats .

Ribbed maxi dress + white sneakers
- Comfortable airport outfits that are cozy enough to sleep in, you ask? Add the flattering silhouette of a ribbed maxi dress to your list of casual airport outfits.
- Make no mistake, this humble staple can pack a mighty punch with the right styling options.
- Team yours with your go-to pair of white sneakers on days when you know you’ll be on your feet for prolonged periods of time.
Before you head out the door: For leveling up this style, drape a chunky gold-toned watch around your wrist.

17 Best Summer Airport Outfits for Women To Wear This Year
Summer Airport Outfits – Summers are for unwinding and relaxing. Everyone looks forward to tanning in the bright summer sun and taking Instagram-worthy pictures in stunning outfits that are planned weeks in advance, down to every intricate detail, including all the accessories and add-ons.
People travel all over the world in summer, from exotic islands and remote mountainous areas with camping grounds. And beautiful outfits are planned for every occasion, ranging from all different types of styles, because when else do we get to dress up?
However, is any thought ever given to airport outfits? Everyone makes the most effort planning their vacation outfits down to every last meticulous detail, but no one ever really plans what they will wear while traveling.
The vacation mindset should start the minute you leave your house, not when you reach the destination: every moment should be enjoyed. Look no further, because the styling options for traveling are truly endless. Planning outfits even for the airport can make your vacation all the more fun, and you are about to get some inspiration for them!
What to Wear on Flights in Summers?
We’ve already talked in detail previously about Celeb-Inspired Travel Outfits for Airport but we felt like summer airport outfits deserve a post of their own. From vibrant and colorful outfits to monochromatic sets, you don’t have to compromise on style while prioritizing comfort!
Crop tops and tank tops can be paired beautifully with a wide range of options to make simple, cute, and easy-to-wear outfits.
The options include leggings, flared pants, and even jeans, but you can definitely take it up a notch with full-body jumpsuits and even bodycon dresses. It takes a little bit of courage, but with the right pairing, the outfit can provide you the comfort and style!
Do’s And Don’ts of Airport Outfits
- DON’T add more than two layers. While layers look good on a day-to-day basis, they will probably be an uncomfortable option for the airport, especially during traveling.
- DO opt for monochromatic outfits. While they might seem boring, it’s the easiest type of outfit to put together and will make you look effortlessly composed.
- DON’T clash too many vibrant colors. Try to go for accenting a color, as it will give off a more sophisticated and put-together look.
- DO keep a cover-up like a jacket or a shawl in coordination with your outfit, as it gets chilly at the airport sometimes! And we must not forget comfort while planning an outfit.
17 – Comfort Comes First

16 – All Black Athletic Outfit with Neon Pink Shirt To Add a Pop Of Color
Similar to the previous outfit, this outfit is also made of the ever-comfortable athletic crop top and biker shorts for the most easy-to-wear outfit. This time, a neon button-down shirt is worn with an open front as an add-on layer.
This provides a beautiful accent to the outfit and paired with the long sock and white sneaker detail creates an amazing airport outfit.
15 – Simple Gray Bodycon Midi Cotton Dress with a Black Jacket and White Sneakers
This outfit is the epitome of comfort. The dress is made of materials that will hug your body and keep you comfortable and can be easily worn with a jacket or blazer when it gets chilly.
The dress is a unique option that must be tried as it’s flattering on all body types and will make you look and feel confident while traveling. It’s the perfect traveling option.
14 – Light Neutral Combination With White Crop Top and Beige Sweatpants
White crop tops go with almost everything and are a staple piece in every girl’s closet. To add a comfy element, pair it with beige sweatpants and you can create a light neutral aesthetic combination with two of the simplest pieces of clothing that are surely available in every girl’s closet!
This one is a no-brainer and can be achieved by everyone. The best part is, that this color combination suits all skin tones, so it will be flattering every time!
13 – All Black Monochromatic Outfit: Black Tube Top with Straight-Leg Pants and Matching Blazer
This is yet another no-brainer monochromatic outfit that can be pulled off with easily accessible pieces of clothing. Wear a tube top with high-waisted straight-leg black pants for a flattering silhouette and use a blazer as a cover-up if it gets chilly.
This is the perfect combination of clothes to make you look sophisticated and it is also super comfy! Pair it with white boots or even white sneakers and you have yourself a great outfit.
12 – All White Outfit: White Wide Leg Trousers with Chiffon Crop Top with Bell Sleeves
This is another rendition of a monochromatic outfit, but this time with white. Wide-leg white pants or trousers are always flattering, especially when they are high-waisted.
To complement the trousers, wear them with a chiffon white cropped top, with wide bell sleeves, and tie the whole look together with the addition of white platformed slides.
11 – Black Cropped Top With Cropped Black Shirt and Matching Biker Shorts
This outfit is the definition of “less is more”. The button detail in the cropped button-down, open-front shirt makes the shirt more prominent and gives a flattering effect when tied with the curve-hugging biker shorts.
This outfit is so simple to execute, with everyday clothing, and the comfort is perfect for the airport and traveling! This can be paired with white shoes like Nike Air Forces or any other simple white sneakers.
10 – All Blue Outfit: Blue Short Sleeved Crewneck with Matching Sweatshorts
This is yet another simple but effective outfit for the airport. This short-sleeved blue crewneck along with their matching blue sweatshorts are the perfect set to wear while traveling. Not only do the two pieces complement each other to create a flattering effect, but it is also the most comfortable you could get for a long flight.
The crewneck material will also keep you warm when it gets chilly. This outfit gives you effortless style and comfort!
9 – Lilac Oversized Button Down Shirt with Matching Wide Leg Trousers, Accented With a Yellow Tank Top
This outfit is everything, with its comfortable loose fit and summery colors, and is perfect to wear at the airport. The light color is refreshing to wear, especially in the summers, and the pop of yellow adds vibrancy to break the monotony of the overall outfit.
This is such a simple outfit with even simpler layering which is not only flattering but also very comfortable to travel in.
8 – Oversized T-Shirt Paired With Sweatshorts and Matching White Slippers
This outfit gives very clean and summer vibes with its all-white pieces. The oversized shirt and the sweatshorts are the two most comfortable pieces to wear at an airport, especially during the hot summer. With an addition of a crochet bag, you will have a picture-perfect outfit, and you will look like you’re ready to give in to your vacation headfirst!
7 – Asymmetrical White Top with Ripped Straight Leg Jeans and Beige Accessories
This is an immaculate summer airport outfit option to wear. Tie this asymmetrical white top with loose-fit straight-leg ripped jeans. Accessorize on top with some beige or brown accessories to enhance the look even more. This could be beige slides or a beige hat.
Finally, add a white button-down shirt just over the shoulders and you have the perfect summer airport outfit.
6 – Colorblock With an Orange Crop Top and Black Velvet Flared Pants
These are two very comfortable pieces that can work together due to the beauty and simplicity of the contrasting colors. They can work together without clashing and that is what makes this outfit so stylish and clever.
This can be worn with sneakers to increase the level of comfort essential for traveling, and a plain white button-down shirt can be worn over it to add another element. In this case, the white shirt is printed with some intricate orange detailing with also contributes to the style of the outfit.
5 – Pink Pants with a White T-Shirt
This is again similar to the color blocking concept. A plain white t-shirt can be tucked into simple baby pink colored pants to create a cute airport outfit. The shoes can be paired according to preference but you can never go wrong with a pair of converse or plain white sneakers!
This is the perfect example to depict that you can take some of the most ordinary pieces in your closet and style them perfectly to wear before your vacation begins.
4 – Black and White Outfit – Simple Top With Flared Black Pants
For this airport outfit, any white top will do. Take the comfiest one in your closet and pair it with black flared pants. Top it all off with white sneakers to complete a perfect black and white look. Simple, but so stylish! This is an outfit that you can never go wrong with!
3 – Add a Pop Of Color With Bright Yellow Sweatshorts Paired with Plain White Sleeveless Top
This outfit is a no-brainer. Based on the color block concept, you can pair almost any bright color with white and it will look good. In this outfit specifically, the bright color chosen is yellow, which is the perfect color to represent the summer vibes, and will definitely put you in the summer vacation mood. The white sleeveless top is super comfy to wear, so overall, you have a great outfit to travel comfortably in.
2 – Colorblock with Sage Green Cargo Pants and A Black Cropped Top
In this outfit, the sage green cargo pants will add a lot of dimension to contrast and enhance the simplicity of the simple black cropped top.
The cropped top’s tight fit is also opposed by the loose comfortable fit of the cargo pants and it marries the two beautifully to create a visually appealing and interesting outfit to wear at the airport.
1 – Wear Brown Shorts with Twisted White Top and Drape a Cream Sweatshirt On The Shoulders
This outfit is perfect to wear at the airport. The color palette of the overall outfit is neutral and aesthetically pleasing to look at, with the twisted white top adding dimension to the otherwise plain textured materials of the shorts and draped sweatshirt on the shoulders. It is comfy and cute!

Matching Sets
Enter the travel trend that’s been capturing the hearts of globetrotters and fashion enthusiasts alike: the matching set . Coordinated ensembles, featuring a top and bottom that perfectly complement each other, have become the go-to choice for jet-setters looking to elevate their airport fashion game. But it’s not just about appearances—wearing a matching set while traveling offers a multitude of benefits that go beyond aesthetics.
Not only are you at an optimal comfort level but you also always look effortless while wearing a matching set. There are so many sets on the market these days. You can choose from a knit set, a matching sweat set, or even a short set for those summer months. Pair it with loafers and a classic trench for a polished look. For a casual look pair it with white sneakers and a denim jacket ! Below I’m sharing my top picks at all price points.
MATCHING SET TOP PICKS:
Leggings + Oversized Button-Down
Classic but make it comfy! This dynamic duo not only offers a timeless and polished look but also comes with a range of benefits that make navigating airports, flights, and new destinations a breeze. When it comes to picking out leggings I always have the best luck when purchasing quality over quantity.
For instance, I’ve had my Lululemon leggings for 7 years now and they still look new (wear roughly 1-2 a week). Really. It’s best to invest in pieces you know you will wear over and over. Additionally, I’ve recently fallen in love with the Alo Leggings for travel. And if you’re looking for a pair to hold it all in consider the Spanx leggings . As for the oversized button-down, I tend to find good ones at Zara and H&M since these pieces truly only last a few seasons. Pro tip: size up your button-down for an oversized fit.
MUST-HAVE LEGGINGS:
Knit Joggers + Graphic Tee
This combination airs more on the casual side but is a favorite of mine. This airport outfit is perfect for those red-eye flights since we need all the comfort to help us sleep. Finding the perfect pair of knit joggers is not easy. I’ve added my favorite ones below to help you decide. Furthermore, I always find the best graphic tees at Abercrombie.
Finally, you can pair this look low with slip-on sneakers, a baseball cap , and an oversized jacket to pull it all together. Don’t forget to pack your eye mask to get some shut-eye.
JOGGER PICKS:
Biker Shorts + Crewneck Sweatshirt
A little more on the trendy side but this combo is perfect for those warm summer temps. I’m obsessed with these biker shorts from Alo . They are the best quality and come in over 10 colors. You can easily pair this look with an oversized sweatshirt (blazer if you want to be super on-trend), sneakers , and a baseball cap to pull it all together.
CREWNECK SWEATSHIRT FAVORITES:
Who wants to wear a dress on a plane? Not me! Another easy way to put together a stylish airport outfit without actually trying is to invest in a comfortable jumpsuit. You can easily pair this with cute sneakers , an oversized denim jacket, and a scarf (that doubles as a blanket on the plane) to pull it all together. It may be a bit difficult traveling in a jumpsuit when it comes to using the bathroom, but anything to look cute, right?
JUMPSUIT TOP PICKS:
Airport Outfits Must-Haves
A comfortable jacket.
A comfortable jacket , faux leather jacket, or sweatshirt is a must for travel clothes. I tend to stick to a classic denim jacket as it’s so versatile for both the summer and fall. You can always count on airplane cabins to be chilly, so you don’t want to forget this piece when traveling. Also, it can double as a blanket or travel pillow. You sure can get creative on a flight!
Baseball Cap
It’s always smart to have a hat on hand because you never know what kind of bad hair days you will run into when traveling. This is the perfect way to combat those unexpected days and stay incognito on your flight if you don’t want to chat it up with your neighbor.
Comfortable Sneakers
Whenever I’m traveling, I want to be as comfortable as possible since there is usually a lot of walking involved. Skip the heels and opt for a chic pair of comfortable shoes for your trip. You’ll be happy you did!
Airport Accessories Must-Haves
If you’re wondering what kind of accessories to pack for your travel day, I got you covered! Firstly, for those early morning/red-eye flights consider packing cat-eye sunglasses to hide those tired eyes. Next, a good pair of socks to keep your feet warm on the plane. A pair of affordable noise-canceling headphones go a long way in the airport. Finally, I never leave for a trip without my portable backup chargers .
Airport Looks from Amazon
Finally, for my Amazon shopper gals on a budget, I’ve put together a list of airport looks from Amazon. They’re all affordable and I happen to have a couple of these sets myself.

How to Dress Like Someone's Airport Crush
If you’ve scrolled through social media in the last few months, we’re willing to bet you’ve come across the latest viral conversation: our shared experience of wanting to be someone’s airport crush. The meet-cutes we’ve seen in rom-coms and steamy reads have now made their way to TikTok, with everyone aspiring to meet their soulmate in the PreCheck line. After all, what’s more enticing than meeting a fellow single person when you’re traveling?
Given the viral trend, we’re suddenly finding ourselves wanting to improve our travel outfit game. Instead of rolling out of bed and throwing on a pair of leggings and an oversized tee, trust us when we say there are loads of other (and better) outfit options out there to choose from that are just as comfortable. In need of some inspiration? Continue below for seven outfit options that are pretty much guaranteed to make you someone’s airport crush.
Pilates Angel
If you’re into Pilates (or aiming to look like you are), all you need to create the perfect Pilates-off-duty look is a sculpting jacket paired with seamless leggings. Any color works, but we think something like this soft periwinkle is perfect for making a subdued statement. Pair it with a plain white tee (cropped or regular fit) to finish the look. You’ll look unbothered in the best way (bonus points if you drape the jacket over your shoulders).
Shop The Look
Hailey biebercore.
Hailey Bieber is the epitome of airport crush core, and if you want to meet the future love of your life (or at least love of the moment), take some notes from her. Bieber is known for pairing baseball caps with jeans and a jacket, and we think our selection of picks below is perfect . Not only do you get to keep some anonymity with the hat, but the combination of a leather bomber and comfy jeans will have heads turning left and right.
Scandi Girl
We love to take inspo from Matilda Djerf, and she’s got the airport ’fit game down to a T. And while the idea of wearing a blazer to the airport might seem weird at first, hear us out. Go for one in a comfy, loose material, like this one from Djerf Avenue, and pair it with some matching slacks. And to really set yourself apart from the crowds at the airport, tie a silk scarf around your neck for a Parisian vibe.
Djerf Avenue
Crisp and Comfy
For more of a relaxed look that makes you look put together and like a frequent traveler, you can’t go wrong with an all-white ’fit. Daring? Yes. But how else are you supposed to attract your airport crush? We love the idea of wearing biker shorts with a cropped tank or tee along with some slouchy socks. Feel free to add a pop of color with your shoes or warm it up with a jean jacket draped over your shoulders.
Courtside Chic
For the “headed to Nantucket without a care” look, you’ll need a flirty tennis skirt and some fresh white sneakers. Make sure your shoes are more for walking than for running to keep a casual vibe. Complete the outfit with some crisp cashmere in the colorway of your choosing.
Jenni Kayne
Want Les Essentiels
Confidential Traveler
If we had to choose a favorite outfit on this list, this confidential vibe would take the cake. We know that wearing sunnies indoors is controversial, but if you put a pair of oval-shaped ones on the bridge of your nose, trust us when we say you’ll look like an incognito celebrity. For the outfit, go for a tailored white button-up and your favorite comfortable slacks.

- Celebrity-inspired: No one travels in style quite like a celeb. Often photographed at the airport, they're always on their fashion A-game, so we've taken inspiration from their most-loved in-flight outfits.
- Comfort: When it comes to flying, feeling comfortable is without a doubt the number one consideration. We've only chosen pieces we'd be happy to sit around in for at least several hours.
- Price: Celebrities love their designer garms but we've kept things on the more affordable side - every item included is under £100.
The best airport outfit ideas to shop this summer
Bella Hadid
Let's be real – there's no outfit more comfortable than a tracksuit. Bella has one of our favourite airport styles - she's been spotted in leather blazers with wide-leg trousers and jeans with sweaters, but by far most frequently, a cool tracksuit with a pair of trainers. Just add gold jewellery and you're ready to go.
Adanola Tracksuit
Adanola is loved by celebrities from Kourtney Kardashian to Michelle Keegan, but it comes at a much lower price point than Bella's designer tracksuits. This bestselling two piece is both super comfy and stylish.
Nike Dunk Low Trainers
Bella loves her Nike Dunks, as does Hailey Bieber and Khloe Kardashian. Not all casual kicks are created equally and these will take you everywhere in ultimate comfort.
If you want something slightly more chic than a tracksuit, take inspiration from Elsa Hosk who levelled up the classic loungewear look with a cashmere cardigan and matching trousers by LESET . She completed the outfit with a pair of loafers.
Mango Knitted Top & Trousers
Mango's co-ord is made from soft knitted fabric and can be layered with a white rollneck to keep you warm. Pair it with slides, trainers or loafers and complete the look with a pair of sunnies and headband.
Arket Cashmere Set
Arket's luxurious cashmere set is so comfortable for your next long haul flight. It includes a fine-knit wrap cardigan with straps to be tied at the waist and trending wide-leg trousers.
ASOS DESIGN Jersey Headband
If you don't want to wear your hair up but prefer it out of your face for a long haul flight, a headband like Elsa's is the perfect compromise.
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley
Rosie Huntington-Whiteley always looks put together at the airport and is often pictured wearing a pair of straight-leg jeans with a shirt, blazer or lightweight knit. Plus, she's rarely seen without a huge pair of sunglasses.
& Other Stories Slim-Cut Jeans
There's no rule that says you can't wear jeans - especially for short haul. Made from stretchy denim with a flattering high-rise fit, we'd recommend & Other Stories' Slim-Cut pair - AKA Princess Kate's go-to jeans.
Arket Oversized Blazer
If you're heading somewhere with a slight chill, make sure to add an effortless blazer into the mix like Rosie. This one from Arket is fully lined with a comfy oversized, single-breasted design. Made from a wool blend twill, it's a forever piece.
Victoria Beckham
VB's most frequently worn airport outfit is a pair of trending wide-leg trousers , a graphic white tee and always oversized black sunnies.
Marks & Spencer Wide-Leg Trousers
Marks & Spencer's wide-leg trousers are smart and comfortable in equal measure. They have a comfy elasticated waist and a classic tailored fit.
GANNI T-Shirt
A colourful GANNI graphic tee is a piece you'll wear on repeat. Pair it with wide-leg trousers and trainers or boots for the airport.
Andie MacDowell
Andie MacDowell proves you can definitely wear a dress to the airport. They're perfect if you're stepping off the plane into a much hotter climate.
Nobody's Child Starlight Midaxi Dress
Stylish and so comfortable, Nobody's Child's Starlight midaxi dress features long sleeves and a relaxed cut - it even has pockets!
Boden Laura Shirt Dress
Boden's Laura shirt dress is made from a soft jersey fabric. It features a flowy, midi cut and a detachable self fabric belt. Wear it with fancy flats à la Andie for when you need to look put together on landing.

7 Airport Outfits for Summer
I travel a lot , including when temperatures are soaring during the summer. Because of this, you can imagine why I think planning outfits for a trip is pretty important. I’m not trying to be dramatic, but wearing the right clothes while traveling sets the mood for your entire trip — and it can make or break the experience.
The one thing I always keep in mind when choosing a travel outfit is that comfort is key. This means that when I travel, I make sure to think about what I’m going to wear at the airport to ensure I’m comfy during every aspect of my trip. The right airport outfit is cozy, functional , and weather-appropriate — and yes, it should be stylish too.
There are several things to consider when putting together travel outfits in the summer. To make it easier for you to get dressed before you head to your next vacation destination , I’m sharing a roundup of stylish but functional summer outfits you can wear at the airport.
7 Airport Outfits for Summer
Sweatshirt and jogger matching set.
One of my go-to airport outfits is a simple matching set . There’s really nothing that is more practical for jaunting through TSA and the airport. Plus, a matching set is easy to throw on even in the early morning hours or late at night (in the case that you have a red-eye).
I usually wear a set with my favorite white sneakers , which go with everything, including the outfits that I pack ( white sneaker outfit ideas are so easy to put together).
The Boyfriend Joggers or Performance Joggers from Vuori are two of my go-to bottoms. Both are made with material that’s lightweight and super soft — perfect for traveling. The Daydream Crew and Halo Crew are the ideal matching tops since they have long sleeves to keep you warm. Since I feel like airplanes are always so chilly, I like to wear warmer clothes so I’m not freezing during a flight.
Aside from my beloved Vuori sets, there are tons of chic matching tops and bottoms that vary in price point, whether you’re looking for something affordable or you’re planning to splurge a bit. Amazon is actually one of my favorite places to source travel outfit sets, so be sure to check there if you’re shopping on a budget.
Also, if you run hot and you’re worried that a long-sleeve or crewneck will make you sweaty during a flight, I’d recommend wearing a white t-shirt with some sweatpants. Then you can tie the matching top around your waist in case you get cold. A win-win!
Jeans, Tank, and Sneakers
When thinking about comfy airport outfits, a lot of people probably wouldn’t immediately think of jeans. However, we call have that one pair of jeans in our closet that basically feel like sweatpants, so why not? This outfit is simple, classic, and great for travel. Plus, once you arrive to your destination, you’ll look put-together enough that you can go straight to lunch or happy hour.
Abercrombie makes some of my favorite straight-leg jeans . They look so chic with a basic black or white tank top . To finish the look, I kept it casual with a simple gold necklace and white sneakers.
The necklace and shoes I’m wearing in this outfit are sold out, but you can find a similar necklace here . For your shoes, I’d recommend these sneakers from Sam Edelman . They’ve been a consistent #SilbSquad top-seller and they’re one of the best travel shoes , IMO!
Bike Shorts, T-Shirt, Crew Neck Sweatshirt, and Sandals
If your airport style is all about comfort, this outfit is for you. A vintage crewneck sweatshirt with a pair of bike shorts is about as comfortable as it gets. Unfortunately, Abercrombie doesn’t make the Seamless Rib Bike Shorts anymore, but these are pretty close! White slides (I’m obsessed with this $25 pair ) or sandals are an easy, comfortable choice for footwear.
Rompers, Jumpsuits, or Tennis Dresses
Like the jeans above, some people might be surprised to hear that a romper or jumpsuit is one of my airport outfit ideas , but hear me out. It might not be the easiest thing to take off in a tight airplane bathroom, but that one inconvenience is minor in my book. Rompers, like the Zella Knit Romper , make getting dressed a breeze. So much so that I included it as one of my travel essentials for women .
Another option is to wear a tennis/athletic dress, which are everywhere these days. They’re so cute yet comfy to have on for extended periods of time. Some of my favorite spots to shop for tennis dresses are Abercrombie , ALO , and Outdoor Voices .
You can style a romper or tennis dress with sneakers or sandals and you can throw on a leather or denim jacket if they’re blasting the AC on the plane.
All-White Summer Chic
If you’re brave enough to travel in all-white and you need to go from the plane to a social event, this travel outfit idea is the one for you. Linen is such a great fabric for travel because it’s lightweight and breathable — the ideal combo on long days.
I love these high-rise linen shorts from J.Crew and these tie-waist shorts . For this outfit, I paired them with a seamless tank bodysuit and a lightweight linen shirt . My Gucci slides were practically made for an outfit like this and they’re so comfy for travel. I finished things off with my Prada crochet mini-bag . It’s sold out online, but a belt bag would work just as well.
Black Leggings Outfit
Going back to the “comfort over everything” vibe, this all-blac k look is perfect for traveling in style without sacrificing comfort. It’s easy to put together using what you probably already have in your closet.
Start with a quality pair of black leggings, like these Ponte Legging Pants from Cuyana. Add a long-sleeve crew neck tee and a pair of sneakers and you’re ready!
Floral Shorts Outfit
This look is perfect if you’re looking to add a little color to your travel outfit. The shorts I’m wearing are almost sold out, but you can find a similar pair here . I styled them with a white rib tank . The wide fedora is such a fun summer accessory!
What does your favorite travel outfit look like?
Do you prefer comfort over style? Or is the airport your own personal fashion runway? I’d love to know so please share your ideas in the comment section below!

Travel Outfits To Boss Airport Style This Summer
We independently evaluate all recommended products and services. Any products or services put forward appear in no particular order. If you click on links we provide, we may receive compensation.
With its corporate coffee chains, screaming babies and soulless bars, the airport may seem like an unlikely style hotspot. Throw in a pinch of sleep deprivation, a sprinkling of old, pizza-stained loungewear, and what you have is a veritable fashion vacuum.
That’s only one side of the story, though. Because, thanks to the frequent comings and goings of the world’s most stylish celebrity men, the airport has now become a global stage for good dressing.
Despite all the paparazzi shots of Ryan Gosling gliding stylishly through LAX, actually putting together a travel outfit yourself can be tricky. It’s tempting to sacrifice style for comfort, but the key to dressing for departures is understanding that the two are not mutually exclusive.
Armed with the right wardrobe tools, there’s no reason you can’t give the Hollywood jet-set a run for their traveller’s cheques. So sit back, make sure your table is folded away and your backrest in the upright position, and allow us to pilot you through the finer points of airport style.
3 Failsafe Travel Outfits
Airport athleisure.
The airport is athleisure’s spiritual home. The combination of form and function is perfectly balanced to keep you looking sharp while feeling like you’re still wearing pyjamas .
To nail this travel outfit before takeoff, team sportswear staples with smarter, more structured pieces. We’re talking tailored joggers or drawstring trousers and a hoodie, worn with premium sneakers and any outerwear with a collar such as a lightweight single-breasted trench coat , which can easily flit between seasons, or time zones.
Stick to simple, neutral colours and accessorise with a leather backpack and a baseball cap or beanie, depending on what time you have to leave the house for your flight and where you’re headed.
Business Traveller
Not all trips to the terminal are made in the name of pleasure. If your final destination is a boardroom rather than a beach, you’d be well advised to give slouchy streetwear a wide berth.
A good travel outfit for a businessman starts from the ground up. Choose shoes that are easy to take off and put on. Think loafers as opposed to Derbies. This will make for a smoother transition through security and a more comfortable flight. Plus, well, they just look good, don’t they?
Arriving at your destination looking as sharp as when you took off is impossible if your tailoring is a crumpled heap. If only taking one, you could learn how to pack a suit the right way, but a far better option is to wear it. Opt for a high-twist fabric such as wool (which allows for a quicker recovery from wrinkles) and a jacket that’s made with a half-canvas construction for added comfort.
Pockets Aplenty
If in doubt, workwear . That’s a pretty solid mantra to live by in most casual settings, and the departure lounge is no exception.
Firstly, it looks good. Secondly, in a world where airlines are only a budget meeting or two away from implementing additional charges to bring your own limbs on board, anything with a few extra pockets is your friend.
Start with the jacket. It should be collared but casual. A traditional chore jacket would do the trick as it offers multiple passport and credit-card sized pouches. Below, go for chinos in a stretchy fabric and tie it together with a pair of slip-on sneakers.
Celebrity Airport Style
David beckham.
Would the concept of airport style even exist if it weren’t for David Beckham ? Perhaps not. The former England captain is no stranger to a private jet, and his above-average air miles certainly show in the experience with which he puts a together lounge-friendly travel outfit.
Beck’s trademark brand of trans-Atlantic cool is based around mixing timeless classics with trend-driven pieces (and the obligatory black Wayfarers, of course), all of which work as an outfit when headed for a city break.
The footballing legend possesses an ability to seamlessly switch from high to low, making both look equally good. Think a simple crew neck T-shirt, joggers and a baseball cap for long-haul slogs, or a soft chambray shirt and jeans for shorter flights. Each tied together neatly with a luxe backpack or leather holdall.
Ryan Gosling
As far as style inspiration goes, it doesn’t get much better than Ryan Gosling.
The La La Land Star is well-known on land for his knack for using statement pieces and a seventies -inspired colour palette, and the magic doesn’t stop when it’s time to catch a flight.
Gosling’s use of layers that can be easily added and subtracted from his travel outfit puts him right up there with the best airport dressers. Who else could wear a buffalo check lumberjack coat over a leather biker and make it look good? We’d put money on him wearing a pair of swim shorts under there too.
Eddie Redmayne
The golden age of flying might be dead and the lounge no place for an actual lounge suit , but try telling Eddie Redmayne that means you can’t still fix up and look smart.
If you’re jumping straight off the plane and into a smart-casual setting, Redmayne can provide a handy reference point for the sort of look to go for. The actor can regularly be seen striding through arrivals in good quality basics, clutching classic luggage and often with a smart overcoat thrown in for good measure.
Once you’ve switched time zones, pep up your skin with a moisturiser and some eye cream, swap the sneakers for some Derbies, and you’re ready for anything.
Key Travel Outfit Pieces
Drawstring trousers.
Historically, ‘sweatpants’ has always been a byword for ‘sloppy’. Not any more. The cross-pollination of dress codes in recent years has yielded some very wearable results. Not least of which: tailored joggers and their slightly more spruced-up cousin: drawstring trousers.
It’s difficult to imagine a garment better suited to a travel outfit. Light, stretchy and comfortable, while remaining smart enough to be worn with an unstructured blazer.
Carry-On Luggage
When it comes to making the airport experience as pain-free as possible, having a good carry-on bag is half the battle. With the airport-style elite flying the flag for backpacks, a timeless leather carrier or sturdy ripstop option is a wise choice.
A stylish holdall or cavernous tote bag is a reliable alternative for squeezing that little bit more out of your carry-on allowance. It’s worth splashing out on a quality option from a respected brand, and with the right care, it may even outlast you.
Baseball Cap
Celebrities have been using baseball caps to shield themselves from paparazzi flashbulbs for as long as there have been airports. That’s not all they’re good for, though.
The right cap can be a handy accessory for bringing an outfit together, and better yet, if the low humidity means you suffer from greasy hair on long-haul flights, it offers a stylish means of keeping it concealed.
Worker Jacket
Having a few extra pockets to hand is no bad thing at any time, but it’s particularly handy when attempting to keep your carry-on bag an acceptable weight and all the travel essentials to hand.
A worker jacket — originally designed to be worn while carrying out chores, which flying most certainly is — has room for passports, boarding passes, headphones and beyond. It’s just a bonus that it looks the part, too.
Surely the comfiest article of clothing ever created, you don’t need to have poured over celebrity pap’ shots to know that the hoodie really comes into its own at the airport.
To make one part of your next travel outfit, look for loopback cotton or cotton-jersey blend for optimum comfort, then simply layer it under a light jacket and you’re ready for the skies.
When you’ve just disembarked a 13-hour flight and the jet lag is beginning to take hold, looking good is no easy feat. A stylish pair of sunglasses can hide a multitude of sins and help take some of the sting out of that blinding daylight.
If you’re to stand any chance of not looking like a fool walking through passport control, stick to classic shapes like Wayfarers and Clubmasters in black or tortoiseshell frames that will helpfully also look cool around the pool.
Slip-On Sneakers
Even if you’re David Beckham, at some point you will need to go through airport security. As well as putting your liquids in a clear bag ahead of time, it pays to plan ahead and dress smart too; and that includes your shoes .
Because no man wants to be on bended knee wrestling with laces at 4am, slip-on sneakers are the savvy traveller’s choice and mean you’ll quite literally fly through, leaving more time to stock up on fragrances in duty-free.

Airport outfits are all over my Instagram feed, so here are some chic-but-comfy ideas for your next trip
By Georgia Trodd
Airport outfits and travel clothes are all I see on Instagram these days thanks to a new-found tradition that has all my fave influencers and celebrities sharing their pre-flight OOTDs. While we're obviously jealous of the far-flung holiday destinations everyone's jetting off to, I'm even more envious of what they're wearing.
Fashion bloggers and stylists seem to hit the nail on the head each time, achieving the right balance between looking comfortable and pulled-together, all while seeming as though they've not even tried. It ties in with the quiet luxury trend – something I've been seeing a fair bit of this year – and the coordinated outfits that have been walking the runways; from Ralph Lauren to Louis Vuitton, Loro Piana to Brunello Cucinelli.

Dressing to the nines is out of the question, especially if you're going long-haul, so put down the heels (yep, even the kitten ones) and look towards your loungewear collection for inspiration. Comfort is king when it comes to airport outfit ideas, but if you're hoping for an upgrade you'll still need to look somewhat put-together. Think matching two-piece set , chunky trainers , gold jewellery and a designer bag .
From night flight-appropriate ensembles, to ones which are ready to be worn to the beach as soon as you land, keep scrolling for the best airport outfits and inspiration.
1. The Cosy-Comfy Airport Outfit
If you're looking for that off-duty model look to wear to the airport, I think I've found it within these four items. Wear the jumper over your vest-clad shoulders when the plane (inevitably becomes stuffy), and the tote in the crook of your arm while you browse duty free.

2. The Plane-To-Pool Airport Outfit
Raring to jump in the pool as soon as you touch down? This knitted set from the new SIMONMILLER x MANGO collection is the easiest, breeziest outfit ever. It'll keep the air con chill off you while you fly, but remain lightweight enough to keep you cool when you step into that abroad heat. Bonus: you can wear your bikini or one-piece swimsuit beneath it for a super speedy sun lounger change.

3. The Quiet Luxury Airport Outfit
Heading straight from the airplane to a five-star luxury Airbnb or hotel? This airport outfit will serve you well. A linen shirt and linen trousers set looks uber chic but is actually quite affordable to pick up. Add the luxe details by way of your accessories , like through this must-have sandals and a tennis bracelet.
4. The Sporty Airport Outfit
If travel is your middle name then a practical, jet-set airport outfit is probably more your forte. This one is ready to sprint to the gate when you are, complete with gym leggings , an oversized hoodie and baseball cap or summer hat for that mysterious, VIP finish.

5. The Ready-For-The-Heat Airport Outfit
If you want everyone to know you're off to somewhere that's really warm, this is the airport outfit for you. You may be a bit chilly at first, but it'll be totally worth it if it means you don't have to de-layer when you reach passport control on the other side.

6. The Influencer-Style Airport Outfit
Take a leaf from all the influencers on the ‘gram and opt for a tracksuit sweater and some cycling shorts as your airport outfit of choice. It won’t let you down in terms of comfort or style, and it'll make for a chic outfit and suitcase pic on your grid. Accessorise with a tote bag that'll hold all of your flight essentials – from book to travel minis – and transform into the perfect beach bag once you've reached your destination.
Save when you shop for airport outfits with these Coggles discount codes at checkout.
7. The Night Flight Airport Outfit
Heading somewhere far flung and catching a night flight to get there? You'll be needing a warm and comfortable ensemble to snuggle up in, in that case. My go-to for such outfit is wearing an outfit as close to women's pyjamas as I can get, so some cashmere trousers and a pair of slippers is pretty spot on.

Fashion Tips for Traveling in Comfort and Style
Whether you’ve got a luxurious international excursion to embark on or a romantic couple’s retreat to enjoy in a different state, you have to get there before you can kick into vacation mode.
During summertime, airport crowds double, and so does the travel stress. However, with these fashion tips for traveling, you can navigate airports in comfort and style.
Slip-On Shoes
After a late-night flight, the first thing you want to do once checked in to the resort is slip off your shoes and snuggle in the soft, feathery beds. Slip-on shoes slide on and off with ease. Plus, they come in various styles, from slippers and sandals to wedges, boots, and sneakers.
Slip-on shoes help you slip into vacation mode.
With one swift action, your shoes come off, and you’re ready to dip your toes in the water, dig into the sand, and kick your feet up for pure relaxation.
Plus, if TSA asks you to remove your shoes, slip-on shoes help you breeze through security.
Chic, Comfy Clothes
Turn the airport hallways into your private runway with some stylish yet comfy airport attire. Vacation mode is supposed to make you relax, unwind, and feel content.
Dressing in clothes that make you look and feel good makes a huge difference in your comfort levels. It also allows you to hop straight off the plane and not worry about trying to redress for the day.
There are numerous ways to make your stylish outfits more comfortable , from opting for trendy biker shorts to staying classy in a simple maxi dress. Dressing for comfort doesn’t refer to only cozy clothes. It also means feeling confident.
Minimal Jewelry
Jewelry adds to any look. However, too much bling can weigh you down and feel uncomfortable after you wear it for long hours. For travel, opting for minimal jewelry provides a happy medium of style and comfort.
If you are an anxious flyer, jewelry also doubles as a helpful anxiety releaser.
Rings, bracelets, and necklaces provide you something to fiddle with, calming your nerves with a simple, repetitive, and familiar grounding task.
Buns, Braids, Waves
Like accessories, hairstyles complete and enhance a look.
Although claw clips create simple and chic updos, they don’t offer a lot of comforts while seated. Opting for braids, buns, and waves provides you with put-together looks that don’t get in the way of relaxation.
Braids create detailed and stylized looks. A classic double dutch, fishtail, and French braid offer simple, stylish, and non-interfering hairstyles.
Plus, they keep the locks out of the way. A good old messy bun generates an effortless top knot that, like braids, keeps your hair fashionably out of the way.
Lastly, waves are great hairstyle options for travel because they are all about rocking the messy do. The textured waves can drown out plane bed head.
There are many more fashion tips for traveling in comfort and style, from a pre-flight beauty prep, like tinted brows and manicures, to a sky-high skin-care session.
What better time to slip on a hydrating sheet mask than a long flight? With a comfy yet chic airport fit, sleek slip-on shoes, practical and classy hairdos, and minimalistic protective jewelry, you’re ready to fly into your summer getaway in style.

When you're not feeling the denim jacket, take a tip from Gigi Hadid: A plaid blazer is just as light (and dresses up black leggings).
Bundling up for the airplane has never been so chic. With an oversize cardigan, funnel-neck sweater, and pajama suiting pants, you're ready—and comfortable—for transit.
Airport athleisure, but make it fashion: Ashley Graham elevates leggings and sneakers with a cutout top and duster coat.

Priyanka Chopra's utility jumpsuit makes the case for an airport one-piece.
Is there any situation that Rihanna isn't best-dressed for? Copy her streetwear-style puffer and boots for a balance between comfy and cool.
Emilia Clarke's sleek travel suit was built for business class.
The travel take on a high-low mix: comfy track pants for hours on the plane, pointy-toe boots to strut off after landing.
Sharpen up a pair of versatile jeans and a black tee with a tweed coat and mules.
No need for an airplane blanket with a souped-up overcoat and turtleneck.
Instead of crumpling up your favorite sundress in your suitcase, wear it through security the Emma Roberts way. Wrinkles = avoided.
High-rise trousers and a cropped jacket are the model-off-duty way to fly.
Frigid onboard air conditioning is no match for a fuzzy overcoat.
Winnie Harlow's denim jacket and skinny jeans are comfortable for cruising altitude—and cool enough for dinner after landing.
The Beckham way to hit the airport: black frames, black separates, and flashy white boots.
Make a Karlie Kloss–style arrival in a printed top and black pants.
The quickest way to toughen up a sweet shirtdress while you're on the go: heavy-metal accessories, like Kate Bosworth's buckled crossbody bag and boots.
For a retro-inspired travel look, try a belted trench coat and pointy flats.
Thanks to Laura Harrier, leggings under a midi dress are officially airport-approved.
Alexa Chung's cuddly coat is more than a chic outer layer: It can double as a soft pillow on the plane.
Laura Dern shows us how to stand out from the baggage claim crowd in a distinctive jacquard coat.
With a coordinating jacket and flared trousers, a black crop top is ready for takeoff.
One statement layer, like a leopard-print jacket, can give packable basics extra oomph.
For city destinations, a sharp blazer-dress can go straight from the terminal to downtown.
Not every trip needs to be a style moment—even Bella Hadid keeps it simple with a graphic hoodie and jeans.
Simple base layers make airport accessories look all the more elevated, like Liu Wen's strappy jacket and box bag over black pants and a turtleneck.

18 Outfits To Avoid Wearing On A Travel Day In The Airport
Posted: April 26, 2024 | Last updated: April 26, 2024
Traveling through the air comes with a massive set of rules and regulations, and you don't want to make it any more complicated than it already is. Outside of the mandated policies put into place by TSA and airports, there are unwritten practices that should help you as well. For example, you're going to have a tougher time going to the bathroom if you're wearing a romper or onesie, and if you're wearing sandals at the airport, you probably haven't thought about all of those germs... yuck.
In this article, you'll uncover many "don't wear" items when it comes to flying. You'll thank us later! Keep reading through to find out more...
A Brand New Outfit Isn't The Best Bet
As tempting as it might be, the last thing you want to do is sport a brand new outfit you plan to wear out on the plane. If you purchased the new clothing specifically for the flight, that's a different story.
What you don't want to wear on the flight is an outfit that you bought to look your best while on your trip. Keep the fresh threads packed and save them for after you arrive.
Really, You're Wearing Heels?
This should be a no-brainer, but we'll include it. You don't want to run late for your flight with a pair of high heels on, or you might end up rolling an ankle sprinting to your boarding gate.
Wear your favorite comfortable sneakers, and if you must look sharp stepping off the plane at your destination, keep the heels in your carry-on bag. That way, you'll be able to take off your shoes and slip into the fancy option.
Be Careful Of Shorts!
If you're on your way to a hotter climate, it might sound like a bright idea to put on some shorts for your journey. Sure, they're comfortable, but you have to remember the climate in the airport and mid-flight.
Planes become cold, and the person next to you might turn their air vent on full blast, making you colder. Your best bet would be to throw on some warmer clothes while you fly the friendly skies.
Uncomfortable Fabrics Aren't Fun
While wool tops might be stylish, they aren't the best to wear while traveling via airplane. That goes for any uncomfortable fabric that might cause you to itch or feel out of place.
You don't have much room in your seat (unless you went for first-class), so why would you want to make it less enjoyable? A regular cotton sweater will get the job done, so you can save the fashionable attire for after you land.
You Can Do Without The Pajamas
Wearing your pajamas to the airport and on your flight might sound like a great idea for you, but what about the passengers? You're bound to get a handful of stares walking down the aisle wearing your PJs.
Your best bet will be athletic attire if you want to retain some comfort. Since athleisure attire is a pretty big trend at the moment, you can't wrong sporting that style for your air travels. You might even get a few compliments on your outfit.
Save The Tight Clothes For Later
Even if your flight is only one hour, it'd be best not to put on tight clothes. Much like with uncomfortable fabric, tight clothes in close-knit spaces isn't the best idea.
Did you know that your feet naturally swell while flying? That's one reason to ditch the tight boots you thought you'd wear. Also, the longer the flight, the more irritable you could become, and you don't want that crying baby or loud passenger to ruin your mood.
Are You Thinking About Traveling In Flip Flops?
We understand that flips flops provide an extra level of comfort for your feet, which would make them a great option while flying, but being aware of others would be more considerate. Do you think everyone likes the sight of feet?
Also, who knows if your feet won't start to smell unexpectedly. Wearing flip flops sounds good on paper, but once you do it, you're bound to receive some type of flagging energy from others around you. Not to mention all of the germs around the airport and plane.
Watch Out For Those Pesky Metal Sweaters
Wearing those ugly sweaters around the holidays is an annual tradition for many. They have all kinds of designs, but the type you need to be careful of is the metal kind.
The sparkles or bell might seem harmless, but if they're made of metal, you're going to end up setting off the detector. Do you want to take off your whole top before going through the machine? Probably not.
Reconsider Leggings Depending On The Airline You Fly With
Leggings are one of the most in-demand fashion options. Men, women, and kids all like to sport the comfortable style no matter where they're headed. If you're flying with United Airlines, we think you might want to reconsider.
Not long ago, the airline kicked two girls off for wearing leggings. Their rules to general customers allow them to refuse traveling "for passengers who are barefoot or not properly clothed." We're telling you to read guidelines before you hop on a flight.
Too Much Baggy Clothing Stirs Suspicion
Yes, it's a smart idea to wear loose clothing that is comfortable while traveling but don't overdo it. A loose-fitting top won't bring much attention your way, but if your whole outfit looks like a clown suit, then prepare for some suspicion.
You don't want TSA to have another reason to pull you aside for a check, potentially putting you at risk of missing your flight! Figure out the best balance of not too baggy and you'll be fine.
Don't Do The One Piece...
Having a difficult time using the restroom isn't fun when you're attempting to get to your flight or even if you're already on the plane. It's especially rough when you're in the air, and the bathrooms don't give you much room to operate.
Take the smart route and wear pants that can easily slide down. Who wants to take off the majority of their outfit when they have to relieve themselves? It's even more inconvenient in a public bathroom.
Save Your Nice Jewels For Later
We know you probably look fabulous in that new watch, or necklace you own. The thing is, you're about to be in the air for an extended period of time, so you don't need to sport all your nicest jewelry.
Not only will you have an easier time getting through security, but you'll also have a better chance to keep things safe. Unless you wish to have added attention and a difficult time getting through metal detectors, keep your favorite jewels locked and packed away, or better yet, at home!
Keep The Smells Light
If you're sitting on a long flight, one of the last things you want is a strong alcohol fragrance entering your nostrils the whole way. That's what happens when someone decides to spray too much cologne or perfume on their body.
One or two sprays is all you should apply when you're about to fly on a plane. Carrying around a strong scent isn't appealing to those around you, even if it's their favorite smell!
Consider Putting On Your Glasses
If you wear contacts and glasses, your best bet will be the glasses while traveling through the air. You might also want to consider leaving your contact kit at home as well, so it's less of a hassle.
Since airplanes can get pretty dry, the humidity won't be kind to your eyes while wearing contacts. Its easier to take off and put on your bifocals as well, so it's overall a better decision in the long run.
Save The Larger Handbags For Later
If it completes your outfit, then you might have a hard time denying this one, but hear us out, please. A larger than average handbag that isn't a duffel doesn't need to be on your person while flying.
For one, you're taking up space. You need all the room you can get in the tight seating. Secondly, you won't be susceptible to folks trying to steal. The bigger your bag, the easier it is for theft.
If You Don't Layer, Watchout
While traveling, you'll want to have an option of adjusting layers for different temperatures. Whether you're going from a cold climate to a warm one, or you're in for a heavy day of moving around, your clothing choices can help out a lot.
If you layer up, you can decide to take something off it gets too hot or if you're on the run when you get to your destination. Conversely, if it's cold, you're already in luck!
Skip The Religious Attire
This one is more about being sensitive to others and less about your personal and religious views. You can feel free to praise whoever you wish, but try to keep it on your terms, like when you're at church.
Walking through the airport then boarding the plane with attire focused on religion can be offensive to some. You never know who might disagree with what you believe in and how it could affect them. Also, if you're traveling to some Asian countries, they won't let you in if you have a shirt or tattoo of a Buddha.
Is The Oversized Coat Needed?
Okay, unless you're headed to Alaska in the winter or any other place that's unbelievably cold, you don't need to wear an oversized coat on the plane. It lessens your mobility and the space you have.
You don't want to impair your movement or give yourself any less room to move around. If it means packing an extra bag to fit your large jacket, you might have to do it or sacrifice the freedom we mentioned.
