Central Cee Announces Debut Australian Tour

Universal hit maker and UK drill/grim star Central Cee  has this morning announced that he will be making his way down under for his first ever Australian tour. 

The timing is perfect coming right off the back of the release his of undeniably viral single Doja.  In Australia, he'll be performing the track and a range of other hits at fan favourite festival Listen Out as well as two headline shows in Sydney and Melbourne.

Doja  is currently one of the biggest songs in the world, a huge moment in musical history as a rapper from the UK has the biggest rap song in the world for the first time. It was propelled to fame by its instantly catchy and ear catching bars and a music video directed by the iconic Cole Bennett. 

Central Cee  has already accumulated a social audience of over 8 million users and 2 billion global artist streams with 65% of his listeners from outside of the UK.

His tour will kick off on the 22nd of September at The Forum in Melbourne, before performing at Listen out in Melbourne and Perth. He'll then head to The Enmore Theatre in Sydney on the 28th of September, then farewell Australia with appearances at Listen Out in Sydney and Brisbane on the 1st and 2nd of October respectively.

Pre-sale begins on Tuesday the 16th of August at 9am local time, with general sale beginning on the 17th of August at 10am local time.

Central Cee announces first-ever Australian headline shows

The 'Doja' hitmaker will perform two sideshows while in the country for Listen Out

Central Cee has announced two headline shows along the Australian east coast, tying in with his debut appearance in the country for this year’s Listen Out festival.

The London-native rapper will perform at Melbourne’s Forum Theatre on Thursday September 22, a day before he plays that city’s edition of Listen Out alongside Trippie Redd , Roddy Rich , Disclosure , Tove Lo ,  bbno$  and more. Similarly preluding the Sydney edition of Listen Out (slated for Saturday October 1), Cee will play his own show at the Enmore Theatre on Wednesday September 28.

Tickets for both shows go on sale at 10am next Wednesday (August 17), with a Handsome Tours pre-sale kicking off at 9am the day before (August 16). More details for both sales can be found here .

Elsewhere on his first tour of Australia, Cee will perform at Listen Out events in Perth and Brisbane, as well as its condensed mini-fest counterpart Listen In, taking place in both Auckland and Adelaide. You can read more about the two festivals here .

Thus far, Cee – who also appeared on The NME 100 for 2022 – has released two mixtapes: last year’s ‘Wild West’ and this year’s ’23’. In a four-star review of the latter ,  NME’s Kyann-Sian Williams wrote: “On his debut, [Cee] blew away the naysayers that thought he was a two-hit wonder, but on ‘23’ you sense he’s relishing this opportunity to have fun and simply enjoy what he’s making.”

Last month, Cee went viral with his latest single, ‘Doja’, which alongside bold references to the titular pop star ( “Somebody tell Doja Cat that I’m tryna indulge in that” ), featured the polarising hook: “How can I be homophobic? My bitch is gay.”  At the time of writing, the song sits at Number Seven on Australia’s Top 50 Singles Chart and at Number Five on the UK’s Top 100.

Central Cee Announces ‘Still Loading’ Tour

Central Cee will hit the road this fall and winter! The U.K. star has announced that he will embark on a 24-date tour that will run from mid-October through late November. The North American leg of the tour will kick off in Chicago, Illinois on October 12 at Bottom Lounge and extend into New York, Toronto, Montreal, Boston, San Francisco and Los Angeles . On October 31, 2022, the European leg of the tour will begin in Madrid, Spain before stopping in Milan, Paris, Barcelona, Londo and several other cities. Not to be forgotten, there are shows set for Melbourne and Sydney, Australia that will be finalized in the coming weeks.

“See you soon,” Central Cee wrote on Instagram as he announced the “Still Loading” tour.

The 24-year-old star is still riding high off of the release of his second mixtape, 23 , in February. The 15-track project topped the charts in the U.K. and earned a top ten position on the charts in Ireland, France, Australia and Belgium. More recently, Central Cee delivered the “Doja” video and appeared at Wireless Festival.

For those in London , tickets will go on sale this Wednesday. As for the rest of the world, tickets will be available on Friday. Check out the graphic below for a full list of dates.

This year, after a stellar position in 2022’s BBC Sound Poll, Central Cee consequently received an astounding three BRIT Award nominations, for Best New Artist, Best Song, and Best British Hip Hop, Rap, Grime act. Late last year, Central Cee won Best Male Artist and Breakthrough Artist of The Year at the GRM Awards, accolades which add to his already incredible position as Spotify’s Radar Artist and YouTube’s Artist On The Rise, not to mention his recent double gong win at the MOBO Awards for Best Newcomer and Best Drill Act.
