Archives: Testimonials

My name is Janelle and I am 82 and my husband George is 96. The Panama Canal has been on my husband’s ‘bucket list’ for quite a while and so we mentioned it to Tina at Cruise Express.

Tina said ‘leave it with me”. Tina came back with this amazing 18 Day Viking cruise, departing from Los Angeles and finishing at Ft. Lauderdale.

Naturally we and our family were quite apprehensive about us taking on such an expedition (because of our ages and also just going by ourselves) so far away.

Well we have just returned safe, well and happy. I attribute most of the success of this trip to Tina. Tina crossed every ‘t’ and dotted every ‘i’ with everything working out so smoothly, with hotels, transfers and the cruise itself.

Having never travelled with Viking before, all I can say is that this cruise surpasses any other cruise we have ever travelled with before.

We placed all our confidence in Tina and were richly rewarded.

The cruise, the ports and the passengers made this a lifetime trip to remember.

Many thanks again for making this possible.

Kindest regards,

We have just returned from Harbour City Limited. The trip was standout, the accommodation was fabulous, the food was sensational as was the service at the Obar in Sydney with a view to die for being a revolving restaurant.

The XPT ( haven’t been on that before ) was terrific. The Grace Hotel is a lovely hotel with classic features. We loved Port Macquarie and Rydges was terrific both in accommodation, location and the dinner they did for us, the food was excellent.

The Dolphin lunch cruise we did was most enjoyable and we picked up some dolphins for a free ride as well ( they ride in the pressure wave of the boat) and there were plenty having a frolic around the boat as well, so it fulfilled our hopes of seeing dolphins.

The accommodation at  Pacific Bay Resort was very nice and the food was excellent for the dinner we had there.  The Solar Train ride at Byron Bay was on an old rail motor converted to Solar power and took us into the main centre of Byron Bay. Lunch at the North Bryon Bay Hotel was also very nice and generous.

Our return to Brisbane was expected to be around 5-30pm, but we made excellent time back from Byron Bay, so we arrived around 4-00-4-30pm or so. All in all,  it went off without any hitches, and the group of people we travelled with on the tour were great.

Richard and Ben are to be congratulated on the wonderful itinerary of places of interest and all the arrangements for accommodation and meals.

The rail trip on the 621/721 heritage rail motor was cancelled by the Paterson Rail Motor Society ( not their fault, just a technicality that couldn’t be fixed in time for the tour) so Richard and Ben did a fantastic job of making alternative arrangements to make the trip most enjoyable.

Richard was very gracious in advising us all that Ben had devised and put the trip together. Naturally, Richard played a big part in it too.

You are in very safe hands with these guys, they really look after their clients with care and professionalism and make sure at every stop and departure everyone is accounted for.

Once again Richard and Ben, thanks for a very enjoyable and memorable trip. Almost forgot, thanks for the great piccies you took and posted on line.

Cheers and best wishes,

Vicki & Bruce

The cruise to the sub-Antarctic Islands was unique and onboard Le Soleal met all our expectations.

The service and crew on board were outstanding and made the trip very special.

The itinerary was adjusted due to weather conditions enabling us to reach Macquarie Island before a storm. We were kept updated and this worked out well. We managed all but one island landings which is very unusual.

We were very lucky with the weather with only the last two days being rough.

Our flights worked out well with only one flight delay on the way home. We made all the connections and didn’t lose any luggage.

Thank you for all your efforts with our bookings, you did a brilliant job.

Thanks again. We look forward to planning our next holiday.

We recently returned from the Iceland/Norway trip in February and had a wonderful time. The organisation and attention to detail were fantastic and our every need was met. Our appreciation goes to Hardy and his staff for keeping us informed throughout the 3 years and the tireless effort that went into renegotiating and planning this trip was second to none.

We enjoyed every aspect of the trip and we will always remember and treasure the wonderful experience in Iceland and Norway. We would like to thank Hardy for his guidance and friendship throughout the entire trip and he was an exceptional resource ensuring that we had a fabulous time.

Hardy saved us a lot of money by being our guide on the Hurtigruten cruise and we had the benefit of his knowledge and sense of humour. He was always there when we needed him and we would highly recommend Cruise Express to our family and friends.

We will always remember this fantastic holiday and we hope to travel again with this Company in the future.

Our kindest regards and gratitude.

As usual the trip organised by Cruise Express went without a hitch. It was an extremely well planned itinerary and covered all the must see sights in Norway

There were many highlights along the way, whilst in Oslo we were able to walk through Roald Amunsden wooden ship Flam and experience the wonderful construction of that boat that took him and his crew on a record breaking trip to the Antarctic and reaching the South Pole in December 1911. The ship being over 100 years old is in amazing good condition.

We headed to Bergen by train,  switching to the Flam railway which is the steepest rail descent in the world. Stopping half way down to photograph the frozen waterfalls. The Chalet accommodation was again first class, with a lovely evening dinner. The next morning we boarded and electric powered ferry which took us down the Fjords 29km met by a waiting tour bus which took us back to the Bergen railway and into Bergen. A delightful old town with historic fish markets and colorful old timber buildings

In Bergen we boarded the Mail/Cruise ship MS Trollfjord and spent 6 glorious days cruising north to Kirknese at the top of Norway. Accommodation and meals aboard the ship was first class. The ship actually stops at 36 different locations delivering passengers and goods. We were able to leave the ship each day for varying amount of time, always something interesting to see.

The absolute highlight was Kirknese on arrival at the Snowhotel 1/2 the group experienced a 12km ride in a 8 dog sled  topped off by a stop & hot fruit drink during the ride, the other 1/2 including my wife and I done it a bit later in the dark and it was thoroughly enjoyable. We chose not to stay in the ice rooms but had a beautiful chalet overlooking the Snowhotel. Dinner was exquisite.

Picked up by our tour guide around 8.30pm we headed towards Finland away from city light pollution and had a really great Northern Lights display. It is a real advantage having a late model phone with night exposure. My Iphone 8 didn’t cut it.

I have only skimmed over the trip there was so much more we saw.

Not only was this a well planned adventure a lot of credit must go to our experienced guide Hardy Schnieder he really goes above and beyond making sure connections are on time and pleasing all his guests. He never stops counting heads to make sure we didn’t leave any one behind. This was our third trip with Hardy and trust there are more to come

Yankee Trails New York Cruise Express

Cool Cruiser

Hi! Has anyone used the Yankee Trails NY Cruise Express Bus to get to and from the pier from Upstate NY? I am cruising in late August on the Breakaway, and this company is advertised on the NCL website. I was just wondering about the service and if others have had experiences with it. Thanks!

We have used this service several times and it is excellent! Intact we just booked a cruise to bermuda on the Breakaway this week and are using Yankee Trails again in August. They pickup and take care of everything, and drop you off right at the pier. They make sure your luggage is taken care of . They pick you up 7 days later no problems!

We have used them twice so far on Breakaway cruises. Bus takes you right to the Manhattan cruise terminal. Once your luggage is on the bus you won't need to see it or handle it again until it is delivered to your cabin.

For us we make the 4 hour drive from Rochester to Albany..and then hop on the cruise express. Totally avoid the high parking fees in NYC and no hassles with driving in the city.

Really enjoy it and will be using them again when we cruise in September.

Yes, it's a great service, although I would try to keep your carry-on bag sizes to an absolute minimum. The overhead space is very small on some of the buses, so I had to sit with a suitcase under my feet both ways!

Use it whenever we cruise from NYC. It ends up being cheaper if only 2 of you are cruising. Even if more than 2, SO much easier.

Added suggestion, don't rush to get off the ship on return. You will end up standing and waiting till around 10:30. Wish they would have some seating available. I end up sitting on my luggage ,bad back and can't stand for long periods

I solo cruise sometimes and it is great. Much better than taking the train to Grand Central, and then a Taxi to the pier.

Yes that is a good tip. We stay onboard until the last possible moment before disembarking. The bus you go back on will be one that is dropping folks off for the next cruise. so if the ship docks on time and the next bus coming arrives on time...it will probably be somewhere around 11:00 am (maybe) when you board the bus to return to Albany.
DD and I used Yankee Trails a few years ago. It was great. We also live near Rochester, NY, and we went the afternoon before and stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Rensselaer, NY. It was about 1 1/2 miles from the bus terminal where we needed to be the following morning at 7 AM for pick up. We stopped at McDonalds for a quick breakfast on the way and arrived in plenty of time. Parked our car for free for the week and the rest worked out very well. Much better than driving in NYC and paying the parking price at the pier. Oh, by the way, our cruise left on Oct. 29th. On Oct. 28th, we received a freak snowstorm in upstate NY and New England that year. I was really glad I did not have to drive in a snowstorm into NYC.
I second this! When I used them last year, there was a traffic back up and they didn't arrive until 11:30. I had a spot where I leaned on my suitcase for hours, then the crowds started forming and a hot dog vendor made me move. $10 for a hot dog and a can of soda!

Probably $15 if you wanted any mustard or Ketchup! ;)

Oh and since you are from upstate shouldn't it have been a can of "pop" :D

Probably $15 if you wanted any mustard or Ketchup! ;)   Oh and since you are from upstate shouldn't it have been a can of "pop" :D
Nope, from the Albany-Schenectady area, so it's definitely soda here :D

Oh I see...I think somewhere near Syracuse is the dividing line! LOL!

Have used them 3 times and will use them next May. Wouldn't have it any other way!

I have booked with Yankee Trails for a September sailing. Do I need to call them and make reservations for my car to be parked in their lot for a week?

Nope..no need to do that...you simply park when you arrive. :)
Perfect, thanks Joe. :)

You're Welcome! :)

Actually the parking area where the bus station is located seems very safe. It is in a semi-rural type area. We have never had any or heard of any problems there.

We've also used Yankee Trails for shuttle service to the NYC Pier. Very convenient, hassle free. In the past we've used Yankee Trails as our TA and booked cruises during their Cruise-A-Thon events and recieved the bus transportation to and from the NYC pier for free. Next August we're on the Breakaway and did not book thru Yankee but have already booked and paid for the cruise express bus, even though there's 3 of us and it would be cheaper to park at the pier, it's much nicer to not have to drive. As others have mentioned, be in the last group getting off the ship on your return, they will give you information when you board the bus in Albany. It can get busy crazy on the NYC pier and you may be standing for a while, there aren't many places to sit at the pier. Parking area at the Yankee Trails bus station is very well lit, we always park under one of their big lights. And just as in all types of transportation, stuff happens, our first trip on the cruise bus and on the way home after our cruise, the AC broke and the driver pulled off at a rest area and opened the cieling vents, it did get warm in the bus, but not unbearable. Second trip, no problems.

Just heard of Yankee Trails World Travel from someone on trip advisor. Going on the Gem in March. Weather can be so iffy and already had a snow storm hit 2 years ago on cruise day. We were flying in from Syracuse and were lucky that the planes to NYC were about the only ones still flying as the storm hit just south of there. Since then I've gone a day ahead.

But this looks like an ideal and inexpensive way to get to NYC. I can drive to Albany.

Has anyone had experience with bad weather on the day? Does Yankee Trails let you cancel if you see a snowstorm is coming and would rather take a chance on Amtrak? Or am I paranoid? Free parking is another incentive.

How did you like the Holiday Inn Express?

It's the best way to do it!!!

I haven't experienced a bad weather day, but they do have an option to buy cancellation insurance for $5 pp. Based on the chart, you do need to give them 3 full days notice for a cancel to get your money back, minus the insurance fee, i.e. if you ship leaves on Saturday, you need to notify on Wed, Sunday departures, notification is needed on Thursday. It might be enough if a bad storm is predicted.

The one annoying part I found during my last cruise is that they won't leave if someone doesn't show up. The driver will wait and wait until their manager tells them they've exhausted their efforts to get a hold of the person. We waited over a half hour past the scheduled departure time. The same happened on the return back. I guess on the return back, an elderly couple was literally standing in front of the bus the whole time and thought that someone would tell them to get on. They didn't have their phones on. Seriously?!!!

We have used them several times! We always book our cruises through them and get the cruise express included. It sure beats driving yourself and no worries about parking. Once we get back we only have a 30 min drive home. Great Deal!!

Our cruise only had about 300 passengers. The entire crew was fantastic! The expedition crew ensured we had as many outings as possible, and our several days we had landings and zodiac cruises. We had terrific weather up until the last landing. They issue boots and you get a complimentary jacket. Hiking poles in different heights are also provided. Food was delicious in the Aune restaurant and ... Read More

We wanted a different experience and we got it ! Vessel completely fulfilled our expectations, from the accommodation, food and safety on board to the pre and post cruise arrangements. My Mum and I choose this cruise to celebrate her 60th Birthday. We choose Hurtigruten because of their long experience in polar sailing and because of their science program. We sailed on the Nordlys from Bergen to Kirkenes northbound for 6 nights. Having been on three previous Hurtigruten cruises we know that the ship size (small), the provision of interesting lectures instead of Abba tribute bands or similar and the unusual itineraries would suit our interests. Unprofessional and difficult to deal with

I called Casablanca express about reservations I had made in December 2023. I was told I would receive a call from a travel agent 45 days prior to my trip date. I called back on April 4 2024 stating I had not heard from anyone about my trip. They told me I had not sent back paperwork confirming my dates so they could no longer honor my original departure date. I did not receive any paperwork from them to sign. The customer service rep was rude and didn’t want to listen to what I (the customer) had to say. She disconnected the call and later called me back. She then connected me to her manager and he was just the same as she was. At the end of the call he was heard making fun of the conversation. Very unprofessional.

If you feel like wasting your time in…

If you feel like wasting your time in their presentation, getting your deposit taken in a bait and switch (told you would be staying in one location and and finding out its a half hour away) then please enjoy. For an added bonus you can wait for hours on hold just to leave a voicemail and never receive a call back. I must be insane because I did this 5 times with no response.

We paid to make a reservation, then paid to confirm our dates, but our check to confirm was never cashed and we never received confirmation of our trip dates. I have called 3 times now and told they are a little behind but we would be receiving confirmation within a week. It has been 2 months and we STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVE CONFIRMATION AND THEY HAVE OUR MONEY! This appears to be a SCAM.

Anybody wants to go to the Caribbean during Hurricane season??? I do not remember the company that gave the presentation, but for sure they use "CASABLANCAEXPRESS" traveling agency! Good Luck to anybody who got scam like we did!!!

GASLIGHTING SCAMMERS

RUDE, UNPROFESSIONAL, and COMPLETE SCAMMERS. They deserve the lowest rating possible. This company promises you one thing then finds every excuse they can to change the details of your trip. BETH and JULIO, should both be fired based on their customer service (or lack thereof) If you have my money, YOU LISTEN TO ME! PERIOD. These people are master manipulators that try to gaslight you into being okay with all around POOR SERVICE and EMPTY PROMISES. Not to mention the headache it is to even get in contact with someone just to then be treated like you're not a PAYING customer. Absolutely nobody should give this company money and I encourage EVERYONE that has been scammed by these people to take them to small claims court and report them to every outlet possible. This is just the beginning.

What a huge waste of my time

What a huge waste of my time. Got certificate from attending a travel club presentation. Sent them deposits and booked dates then they would not give my the name of the hotel for my reservation. Finally three weeks before travel I insisted and they still would not give it to me but the said it would be economy class, no pool, and not near the ocean (Puerto Rico). The certificate specifically stated "Travelers Class" but they said NOPE its economy. All they wanted to do was sell me an expensive upgrade to another hotel. Glad I went through all this before I booked my flights. Still took multiple calls to get them to refund my deposit. Very disappointed. Felt scammed.

5 Stars for Deception

Terrible company with an excellent ability to lie. You will be scammed. "Fully refundable deposits" will never arrive to your mailing address if you decide to cancel a trip prior to their deadline. And if by chance you are able to take your trip, the company will provide the sketchiest accommodations in an effort to pressure you into an upgrade package (which is more expensive than booking on your own.) After multiple attempts at requesting a refund for a cancelled trip, the company has repeatedly tried to sell me a "free" Las Vegas trip in lieu of the refund which I continue to reject. Almost 3 months later and I have yet to receive my refund. I will give this company 5 stars for deception and unethical sales practices.

Horrible representative!! Hope the actual vacation is better...

Horrible representative!!! Beth was the one who called, asking me to upgrade my trip. Asking $132+30=$162 for the trip. Kept on saying that my trip to Catalina is low end motel with no air conditioning and made it sounded like a horrible place. Can't believe why Casblanca Express would put people in such a horrible hotel. When I refused to upgrade, Beth started showing attitude. VERY RUDE!!! AWEFUL EXPERIENCE!!!. Then tells me she tried to call me several times since 8/23. On 8/23, I called her back, she put me on hold and tells me she would call back that evening. Well, she NEVER called back on that day. She now tells me it is my responsibility to call her back. Making it sound as if I'm the one with the problem, because I'm refusing her offer to upgrade... And she hangs up the phone, again with rudeness!!!!! What is wrong with this company??? What is wrong with this rep??? I'll check out what they have in store and will follow-up with another review.

HORRIBLE. No customer service. I get passed off to different people now for over a month trying to get my $100 dollars back because I cancelled my trip. What they sell you on is not what you get.

"Free" travel offered as a "Gift" - Not!

"Free" Travel was offered as a "Gift" for listening to a TimeShare presentation. It is more of a punishment. You can only call 60 days after you attend the presentation, you reservation must be for 60 days from the date you call. They will not tell you what property you will stay in until 7-10 days before you travel. The ability to reach them is low. They will call back once for each set of voice mail you leave and the call back was from 1-10 days after I left the message. They charged me more for the "Free" stay then told me the $50 dining card promised was not available. Then told me with email that the $150 entertainment package must be used for certain activities but that those are subject to review after you submit them and the money is not provided but "reimbursed" if you are lucky enough to choose something that "qualified". I tried to cancel the reservation once I became too frustrated that I could not change the date of arrival. No luck - set in stone once they send a "Certificate" out. No refund available for the additional charges (not free) and too bad for me. Net value of sitting through the Timeshare presentation: out 3 hours of two peoples time (not 90 minutes promised), out additional charges for "Free" Hotel stay. No dinner or entertainment value that was promised and a really bad experience with Casablanca telling me it was my fault for not understanding their maze of avoiding delivering on the value promised.

Outstanding Customer Service!!!

Calling a huge company with minimal information is usually a pain. But having encountered Linda, customer service representative is like finding a priceless gem. She has the best ears to listen to your concerns. She possesses the skills to creatively cater to your specific needs. She's gifted with her unusual ability to redefine genuine customer service. You can imagine her on the other line handling your case with a smile. Kudos to Casablanca Express. You have one of the best staffs. She just set the standard higher.

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our…

My wife and I wanted to celebrate our honeymoon, and wanted to make sure we could receive some help in doing so. After calling Casablanca Express and talking to Michelle she went above and beyond to make sure we can go. Big thanks to Michelle for getting us a date for our trip fast and early. They should clone her, because she is definitely management material.

I can’t express how appreciative I am of Linda!!! I called to reserve both my certificates only to find out that accounting didn’t apply my cleared check to one of my certificates. Linda handled everything! Instead of passing it off to accounting to figure it out she ensured everything was processed correctly and did it soooo fast. She said 24 hrs but called back only a few hours later to help me reserve my dates for both certificates!! She was fantastic!

BEWARE: If you are looking for a place of honesty, Casablanca Express is not a place. We ended up signing up for a timeshare sale meeting, it wasn’t as bad as we had thought. However, we are very disappointed with the promise they had made about a free trip which I understand was too good to be true, but still, give us the full info. I would have paid extra if they were honest about how it works, but from day one all they want is your money. First, you will receive a voucher and will be asked to pay taxes and fees and a refundable deposit which will be $ 250. After that, they will ask you for an upgrade with $ 100 threatening that your trip will be miserable if you do not upgrade. They also promised us a ticket for two shows in Vegas which I have not seen yet. I tried calling three times but have not received any callback. This is not really a free trip but an awful experience shown by Casablanca Express. They can do it better with honesty and customer service even if they are trying to sell a timeshare. I was considering a timeshare with them, but not anymore. I do not trust this company. They did get my one-time money, but lost my trust and money for the future. I am yet to see how this trip will go, but have zero expectations. Even if I can divert a couple of people from Casablanca, I will be happy. It’s all about trust when doing business, not the route that Casablanca has taken. Hope you see this post. Save you time and money, it’s cheaper to go by yourself.
