Excellent Europe Taster Tour!

The whole tour was amazing start to end, going in I was nervous as this was my first solo international travel experience. Throughout the tour, I felt reassured that I would be taken care of, from all the activities to accommodation/food. Our tour leader Firo was truly amazing, the tour would not have been the same without him! He ensured everyone was having fun at all times and put in extra effort to maximise our time everywhere and show us the key parts of every city. Ivo, our driver was equally amazing, navigating the narrow European streets and keeping our coach experience clean. Accommodations in general were quite nice, more than I expected for the cost of the tour. Breakfasts had plenty of options to sustain us for the day, only qualm is that they were very early (6:30-7 start) and most people have a minimal appetite around then. Dinners were good quality with a few options, though not to my taste (in general quite bland). I participated in the optional fondue experience and wasn’t a huge fan - the meal portions were small and unsatisfying. There was lots of sightseeing and plenty of photo opportunities, definitely not as rushed as some of the other reviews claimed! Walking was inevitable but not too tiring, people of all ages were accommodated in our group. There was ample time to roam the cities individually too, with lots of tips and guidance from Firo. Lots of time was spent travelling in the coach, which without mental preparation, can be quite tiring. We were however, kept well entertained by Firo, and got a chance to stretch our legs every two hours for a mandatory comfort stop. Warm clothes were a must and appropriate wall plugs and adapters were needed, though our hotels were generally able to provide. Rooms were spacious and the rooming situation was quite comfortable. Overall would recommend this tour to anyone who has never visited Europe before as you get to see many countries and quite thoroughly too. Huge shoutout to Firo and Ivo who made it an amazing experience!

Walking Jordan's Spice Trails

Walking Jordan's Spice Trails Just back from a fantastic few days walking through parts of Jordan including Wadi Rum, Petra, Little Petra, Madobar and Jerash. The scenery was amazing, our guide, Saleh, was extremely knowledgeable and patient and we learnt a lot about the history of Jordan and gained an understanding of the modern day country. This was the first guided tour trip I have been on. It was very well organised allowing a reasonable amount of time in each area. We spent a day in Amman before joing the trip and a few days in Aqaba at the end. All the Jordanians we met were very welcoming and we felt safe for the whole of the visit. I'd fully recommend the tour.

Fantastic service. Would recommend

We were on holiday in Sri Lanka when an accident meant we had to return home after 3 days. The staff at Explore were absolutely amazing. They helped to sort our return so quickly, working with our Insurance Company. The Emergency Duty Manager was on hand 24/7 (which was great due to the time difference). We really cannot praise them highly enough. we have been fortunate over many years to never need any assistance,but thankfully they showed at this time how good they are. Would highly recommend them. A special thank you to Yvonne, Cally and Jenny who sorted flights and special assistance at the airports all in under 24 hours . Fantastic service !! Thank you all.

Discover Nepal

This was a fantastic trip (my 28th with Explore and one of the very best). Every day was enjoyable. Kiran Deo Bhatt our guide was simply outstanding. The accommodation was first class (normally this is one area Explore gets marked down on by me slightly but no complaints on this occasion) and the Nepali people so kind and welcoming. This trip is a brilliant blend of culture nature and walking. Expect long drives on dusty uneven roads but if you are after a genuine experience theseare well worth it. The white water rafting was something I was reticent about but it was great fun. Recommend you do all of the optional activities. Simply brilliant.

Classic Egypt and Nile Cruise

We’ve just completed a tour of Egypt, the “Classic Egypt with Nile Cruise” which included the pyramids, Abu Simbel, cruising on the Nile and a whole lot more. The whole trip was expertly handled by our Explore tour guide Waleed. His knowledge of Egyptian history was phenomenal and interestingly woven into stories. He soon tuned into the interests of our little group and his sense of humour made for a relaxed atmosphere. He took care to ensure every aspect of the trip was safe, the guidance he gave for us as travellers was appropriate and wise. Egypt is safe and a fascinating place to visit. There is so much amazing history. We absolutely loved this holiday and recommend it whole heartedly. Visit Egypt and you won’t regret it. Ask for Waleed a fab Egyptologist.

Costa Rica Coast to Coast November/December 2023

This trip to Costa Rica was a bit disappointing from beginning to end, apart from the wildlife seen. The initial information was disappointing. The trip notes were vague and did not correspond to the guide's itinerary. Quite often what we expected in the way of tours did not materialise. We seemed to lurch from an expensive lunch to a pricey dinner most days. The guide had to be pressed to make the tour more flexible and active. We did not spend a lot of money to be satisfied hanging around a hotel. Accommodation was spacious but there were plumbing issues in most hotels/lodges. The wildlife was fantastic however, and we were lucky enough to see the creatures on most people's bucket list. Overall, the holiday was too expensive for the experience received.

Avoid Explore if you can

I received final payment for my forthcoming booking but the telephone number given doesnt exist. I emailed twice and received no response. I went on website to see the site is down but to ring a number. The number given is unhelpful as cannot take payment. The price of the holiday has gone down but I have to pay the original price.... Wont be booking with them again and if you want to, book late and not early as you will be ripped off!

Classic Egypt Tour, a dream come true.

I have just returned home from Egypt where I had the most amazing experience coutsefy to Waleed, our Explore designated tour guide. The tour was very well organised and it exceeded my expectations in many ways, particualtly in terms of the amazing knowledge of Egyptian history shared by Waleed. He is an outstanding egiptologist and tour guide, very enlightened, funny, friendly and considerate. Thank you Explore and Waleed for making my biggest dream come true.

Booking no problem BUT poor customer service after that

Booking no problem, but as others have reported on going customer service appears poor. I haven’t got an appropriate response to my query about a trip next month after 2 emails and 4 telephone calls. I am beginning to regret booking with Explore. Wish I had read these reviews prior to booking.I would certainly have gone elsewhere. I just hope this gets a response

Costa Rica Wildlife Tour

I don't usually write a review and I'm a well seasoned traveller who is happy to go with the flow but my Costa Rica wildlife holiday worst holiday ever - tour guide was in a bad mood most of the time and condescending - half the time he pointed things of interest out after we had passed them or you couldn't even see them. Accommodation was poor in most places and often no choice of where to eat - and expensive for what you got. Itinerary was definitely not accurate and misleading - very disappointed and a waste of money. I had previously posted this under Explore Trips.

Malta & Gozo Walking

The walking and overall schedule was good. Some last-minute changes to the plan at the end of the week - that messed things up - which was a shame. Can't imagine doing the walking in the heat of the summer. Temperatures for us (Nov) - mid-20s deg C - perfect. Booking process and support from UK - very poor (sorry, Explore) - hence the 3 stars.

Inside Vietnam tour

We have just returned from the Inside Vietnam tour and had a great time. The tour was very well organised with visits to some very interesting sights, The hotel accommodation was very good especially the homestay on the Mekong Delta. We couldn't have asked for a better guide, Thin Ton, was very attentive and knowledgeable and had a great sense of humour. On the basis of this trip we would use Explore again.

Adventures in Patagonia

Adventures in Patagonia - Christmas 2023 - I have to say many thanks to Explore for having such a brilliant trip available. From the moment I met the rest of the group and our tour leader Andress, I thought this is looking good. Well it surpassed expectations from any other similar type of adventure holiday that I have been on. Everything happened as arranged, the group bonded very well and our leader kept us informed of what would be happening in the next 24 hours and in the following days. Andress covered all the bases, and in addition catered for any individual requests that we may have had. The hotels were excellent for our needs, the local tour guides were top performers and amazing gifted people as well, their knowledge overwhelming. The local tour company was excellent. As the adventure to the ends of the earth goes the experience was utterly amazing and to be recommended. Our guide recommended a book titled 'To the uttermost parts of the earth' by Lucas Bridges, it is excellent and gives a great review of how the area has developed over the years. Thanks Explore

Walking in Crete

Had a brilliant time trekking through Crete. A beautiful and rugged Island with Geography that keeps you in awe. A really good bunch of people and a special mention for Peter, our tour leader who most of us felt went above and beyond when helping members out on what were at times really quite technical descents. His knowledge and sense of humour were excellent and his passion for Greek culture and history was contagious. Recommended.

Exploring Turkey

Last month I travelled to Turkey with Explore and loved every minute of my adventure! Our guide was very knowledgeable, completely passionate and personable. This gave the group the right platform to bond well. The tour was a blend of authentic experiences, gastronomic delights and local encounters. I felt like I had a taste of true Turkey. This was my first time touring with Explore, and I’m already pouring over their tours, planning my next escapade! Thank you Explore; now where to next?!

Vietnam and Cambodia - UK customer service poor

Although our Vietnamese guide was brilliant, the customer service in the UK was lacking. We were often kept on hold, sometimes for about 30 minutes or the phone was never answered. The Customer Service department was not reliable with regards to getting back to emails once the trip was booked. This has put us off using Explore again. We would suggest a more responsive approach so that the customer will feel more valued.

Japan is a wonderful country

Japan is a wonderful country. Easy to travel around as signage on public transport was in Japanese and English. Very helpful people; if they cannot answer your question they will try to find someone who could. Great value for money. Most cafe/restaurant menu’s were in Japanese so ordering food was an adventure in itself; however staff would go out of their way to help.

We were left on our own for most dinners

We were left on our own for most dinners. The 3 couples from the UK went off by themselves and never invited the rest of us, so it was a solitary dinner experience. Coach was very uncomfortable. Sights visited were interesting.

croatia island hopping

I did the croatia island hopping. The hotel selection was poor either old or far from center of town. The taxi charged me 48 euro from the center of town to the hotel they selected. The tour guide Zoran was excellent. He was very knowledgable, helpful and made the trip fun. It was a quick tour of the beginning city split and end city dubrovnik, need to add more days to actually see those cities.

Cycling in Kerala India

Cycling in Kerala India, in November 2023. This trip was, (as I always find with the Explore trips - this was my 3rd in 2 years) the trip of a life time. It was crammed pack with wonderful experiences to see, taste and smell! The cyling was wonderful and varied. The team of support crew led by our great guide Nishant could not have been any better. They were just wonderful, continuously going above and beyond. We had 3 birthdays on our trip and every time a cake and candles were produced. For me swimming in the rock pool was the icing on the cake, a moment that I will never forget, beautiful scenary, shared with lovely people within the group. I would highly recommend this trip, and as with all the others I have come back changed and with the knowledge that I could easily do the same trip again and love it just as much. Thank you Explore.

Whilst internal flights are covered for certain itineraries, you will have to make your way to the meeting point for the start of your tour. When booking flights be mindful of departure times and possible delays. Tip: We suggest that you start comparing prices the moment your deposit is paid to avoid costly flights.

We have a set minimum age of 10 for our tours, but we're happy to consider younger children on a case-by-case basis. Just let us know your request, and we'll do our best to accommodate it. Expat Explore reserves the right to accept or decline the request at our discretion. We want to ensure everyone has a great time exploring with us!

We make every effort to include local cuisine on our tours to ensure an authentic experience for you. You'll receive an email before the tour begins, where we'll ask for your dietary preferences. We always have a vegetarian option, and we'll work hard to accommodate any other dietary needs or preferences you may have.

Contactless payment is widely accepted across Europe – it’s best to bring a payment card with no overseas withdrawal fees. * Keep in mind that certain optionals are payable in cash to your tour leader whilst on tour. We suggest that you talk to your Tour Leader about when & where to draw cash to pay for the optional excursions.

While Expat Explore cannot assist with booking pre or post-tour accommodation, we recommend Booking.com for affordable accommodation options prior to and after the tour. If hotel information is available, we can provide you with the details in advance so that you can book accommodation at or nearby the start hotel. Please request this by sending a message through on the conversation page.

While Expat Explore endeavours to stay current on all major entry requirements, we are not a registered visa agent. We are, however, able to make things a little easier by providing you with the required supporting documents for a visa application once your tour is paid in full. It is a requirement of the embassies that tours are paid for in full before visa support documentation is requested and applications are made. When you have made the final payment for your booking, simply reach out to our Customer Support Team to request your visa support documents and confirm which embassy you will be applying to.

This is up to you and will vary depending on how much you wish to spend on snacks, drinks, souvenirs etc. We do not include entrance fees to attractions and museums. We do, however, provide you with free time to see everything you want, and our tour leaders will have all the information on pricing and locations so you can manage your own budget. Please refer to your tour-specific pre-departure information and optional excursions guide for further details.

It's your responsibility to arrange sufficient travel insurance for your trip. When you travel with Expat Explore, both you and your personal belongings do so at your own risk. A comprehensive insurance policy should cover medical expenses for illness or accidents before or during the holiday, as well as reimbursement for lost holiday funds due to cancellation, curtailment, or other insurable events. Make sure there are no exclusions that would limit coverage for the activities included in your tour. We generally recommend WorldNomads because they cover a wide variety of nationalities, but you are welcome to use any supplier that offers you the most comprehensive plan. Regrettably, individuals with mobility limitations or those using wheelchairs may find this tour challenging. We want every traveler to fully enjoy their journey, so we encourage reviewing the itinerary carefully before making your booking decision.

When you book for more than one person, we will by default group you together in the same room(s), unless you request single supplements or specifically request us not to. If there are unequal numbers (3, 5, 7 etc.) then the remaining traveller will be roomed with another passenger of the same gender, unless you opt to add a single supplement (subject to availability) to your booking. Please note that minors under the age of 18 cannot share with another traveller outside of your group's booking. If you are making separate bookings and would like to share the same room(s), please send us an email with the booking references for each of the travellers and the details of your preferred rooming allocation.

As a traveller from USA, Canada, England, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa you will need an adaptor for types C, E, F, L, J.

• These are only indications, so please visit your doctor before you travel to be 100% sure.
• Tick-borne encephalitis - Recommended for Austria, Germany and Switzerland. Ideally 6 months before travel.
• Unfortunately we cannot offer you a visa application service. Whether you need a visa or not depends on your nationality and where you wish to travel. Assuming your home country does not have a visa agreement with the country you're planning to visit, you will need to apply for a visa in advance of your scheduled departure.
• Here is an indication for which countries you might need a visa. Please contact the local embassy for help applying for visas to these places.
• For any tour departing before May 24th, 2024 a full payment is necessary. For tours departing after May 24th, 2024, a minimum payment of 10% is required to confirm your booking with Expat Explore Travel. The final payment will be automatically charged to your credit card on the designated due date. The final payment of the remaining balance is required at least 50 days prior to the departure date of your tour. TourRadar never charges you a booking fee and will charge you in the stated currency.

I've traveled with Expat Explore twice before. But now I'm planning to do their Croatian and Eastern Delights tours. I've found reviews about this tour, but is there anybody out there who has done this tour (or maybe one of the other Eastern Europe tours).

We did the 12-Day Europe Escape tour in 2014 and it was super cool. So much in a short space and well balanced still with free time. In 2015 we did the Taste of Ireland which was just as good and our good was brilliant (again).

So our mind is already made up for the Croatian and Eastern delights, but we just want to hear from other previous travellers - please let us know soon because they have some cheap deals going at the moment.

IF your minds are already made up, then why not just look at their website or Facebook page and look for positive reviews? Plenty of reinforcement there.
