Kabar terkini seputar kasus penipuan First Travel, Mahkamah Agung (MA) memutuskan aset ribuan calon jemaah umrah korban penipuan First Travel dikembalikan kepada jemaah. Sebelumnya, aset tersebut sempat disita negara.

Lantas, kini kenapa aset First Travel dikembalikan kepada jemaah? Berikut ini penjelasan lebih lanjut pernyataan MA terkait alasan putusan tersebut.

Sempat Disita, Kini Aset First Travel Dikembalikan

Dalam putusan peninjauan kembali (PK), MA memutuskan untuk mengembalikan aset ribuan calon jemaah umrah korban kasus penipuan First Travel untuk dikembalikan kepada jemaah. Sebelumnya, aset tersebut sempat disita oleh negara.

Pengembalian aset kepada jemaah ini tertuang dalam putusan PK yang diajukan oleh bos First Travel, Andika Surachman, Anniesa Hasibuan, dan Kiki Hasibuan alias Siti Nuraida Hasibuan.

"Kabul," demikian bunyi amar putusan Nomor 365 PK/Pid.Sus/2022 yang dilansir situs MA, Kamis (5/1/2023).

Terkait alasan kenapa aset First Travel dikembalikan kepada calon jemaah umrah korban penipuan tersebut, pihak MA menjelaskan pertimbangannya. Alasan MA putuskan aset First Travel dikembalikan adalah karena dalam kasus ini tidak terdapat hak-hak negara yang dirugikan.

"Pertimbangan pada pokoknya mengenai penentuan status barang bukti, majelis PK tidak sependapat dengan putusan judex juris tentang sebagian dan barang bukti berupa uang dalam rekening bank maupun aset-aset yang bernilai ekonomis tersebut dirampas untuk negara. Oleh karena dalam perkara in casu tidak terdapat hak-hak negara yang dirugikan," kata jubir MA Andi Samsan Nganro kepada wartawan, Kamis (5/1/2023).

Andi mengatakan barang bukti kasus ini dikembalikan kepada orang yang berhak. Mereka adalah para calon jemaah umrah korban kasus penipuan First Travel.

"Akan tetapi, oleh karena barang-barang bukti yang akan disebutkan dalam amar putusan ini berasal dan calon jemaah umrah, maka sesuai Pasal 194 ayat 1 KUHAP harus dikembalikan kepada orang yang paling berhak terhadap barang bukti tersebut, yaitu para calon jemaah umrah yang telah membayar kepada PT First Travel maupun rekanan-rekanan yang belum dibayar hak-haknya oleh Para Pemohon PK melalui PT First Travel yang mekanisme pembayarannya diserahkan kepada pihak eksekutor," sambungnya.

Seputar Kasus Penipuan Ribuan Jemaah First Travel

Untuk diketahui, kasus First Travel bermula saat pasangan suami istri Andika Surachman dan Anniesa Hasibuan mendirikan usaha First Travel. Agen travel ini memberikan penawaran umrah murah, berkisar Rp 10 juta. Tawaran menggiurkan ini membuat ratusan ribu orang muslim mendaftar calon jemaah umrah.

Ternyata Andika-Anniesa menggunakan sistem ponzi, atau semacam penipuan. Selain itu, uang calon jemaah umrah diselewengkan untuk membuka bisnis restoran di London, bisnis fashion, ikut New York Fashion Week, gaya hidup glamor dan membeli aset kelas premium. First Travel berhasil meraup hampir Rp 2 triliun uang calon jemaah dan mencuci sebagian uang itu.

Sistem ponzi ini akhirnya menemui titik jenuh dan meledak. Ratusan ribu calon jemaah umrah tidak bisa berangkat dan hanya dijanji-janjikan. Kasus bergulir dan Andika-Anniesa diadili bersama adiknya, Siti Nuraida Hasibuan.

Akhirnya Andika Surachman dihukum 20 tahun penjara, Anniesa Hasibuan dihukum 18 tahun penjara, dan Siti Nuraida Hasibuan dihukum 15 tahun penjara. Namun masih menyisakan persoalan karena Pengadilan Negeri (PN) Depok menyita aset jemaah untuk negara. Putusan ini dikuatkan hingga kasasi.

Korban kaget dan meminta keadilan. Di sisi lain, Andika mengajukan PK dan dikabulkan. Akhirnya, aset First Travel dikembalikan kepada jemaah. korban

Pitra Romadoni, kuasa hukum perwakilan korban First Travel, mengonfirmasi soal pengembalian dana para korban agen umrah tersebut.

"Agenda hari ini, saya kira kabar gembira terkait putusan untuk dibagi-bagikan kepada korban," ucap Pitra, di Kantor Kejari Kota Depok, Rabu.

Ia menyebutkan, berdasarkan keputusan MA, dana dikembalikan kepada korban yang batal berangkat umrah dan rekanan/agen First Travel yang berhak.

Pengembalian dana dilakukan oleh pihak First Travel.

"Berdasarkan bunyi putusan, itu dijelaskan, yang berhak menerima pengembalian dana, yakni korban jemaah umroh yang tidak jadi berangkat. Yang kedua, rekanan yang berhak," kata Pitra.

"Lalu, dalam keputusan tersebut, eksekutornya (pengembalian dana) melalui First Travel," lanjut dia.

Pertanyakan proses pengembalian

Di satu sisi, Pitra mempertanyakan keputusan tersebut. Sebab, izin operasional First Travel telah dibekukan oleh Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK).

Karena itu, Pitra mempertanyakan bagaimana cara First Travel mengembalikan dana kepada para korban.

"Pertanyaannya, bagaimana mengeksekusi putusan yang First Travel tersebut informasinya dibekukan oleh OJK?" tutur Pitra.

"Artinya, kan ini tidak ada subyek hukum lagi karena (First Travel) sudah dibekukan," sambung dia.

Meski demikian, kepada Kejari Depok, Pitra dan tim akan menyerahkan bukti pembayaran para korban saat membayarkan paket umroh kepada First Travel.

MA Putuskan Aset First Travel Dikembalikan ke Jemaah, Ini Respon Kejari Depok

Mahkamah Agung (MA) memutuskan bahwa seluruh aset dalam kasus PT First Anugerah Karya Wisata (First Travel) dikembalikan ke jemaah atau korban.

Liputan6.com, Jakarta - Mahkamah Agung (MA) memutuskan bahwa seluruh aset dalam kasus PT First Anugerah Karya Wisata (First Travel) dikembalikan ke jemaah atau korban. Terkait hal itu, Kejaksaan Negeri (Kejari) Depok tengah menunggu putusan lengkap Peninjauan Kembali (PK) perkara tersebut.

Kepala Kejaksaan Negeri (Kajari) Depok Mia Banulita menyampaikan bahwa terkait putusan PK Nomor: 365 PK/Pid.Sus/2022 tanggal 23 Mei 2022 atas nama Terpidana I Andika Surachman dan Terpidana II Anniesa Desvitasari Hasibuan, pihaknya baru menerima petikan putusannya saja.

Ma putus 99,47 persen perkara pada 2023, jokowi minta prioritaskan kualitas, dadan tri yudianto dituntut 11 tahun 5 bulan penjara terkait penanganan perkara di ma.

“Saat ini kami Jaksa Penuntut Umum baru menerima Petikan putusan perkara tersebut yang amar putusannya terkait dengan barang bukti dinyatakan dikembalikan kepada yang berhak,” tutur Mia kepada wartawan, Sabtu (7/1/2023).

Untuk itu, Mia menyatakan masih menunggu putusan lengkap pengembalian seluruh aset First Travel kepada korban.

“Selanjutnya saat ini Jaksa Penuntut Umum Kejaksaan Negeri Depok sedang menunggu putusan lengkap atas putusan peninjauan kembali tersebut dan telah dilakukan koordinasi dengan bersurat melalui ke Mahkamah Agung melalui PN Depok,” jelas dia.

Mia menyebut, pihaknya mengedepankan prinsip kehati-hatian usai dalam memenuhi rasa keadilan masyarakat, termasuk dalam menjalankan hasil PK pengembalian aset kasus First Travel.

“Menyikapi amar putusan peninjauan kembali dimaksud, dengan mengedepankan prinsip kehatian-hatian mari kita sama-sama menunggu salin putusan lengkapnya dari Mahkamah Agung. Sebagaimana amanat perintah pimpinan Kejaksaan dalam pelaksanaan tugas kewenangannya senantiasa memberikan rasa keadilan kepada masyarakat,” Mia menandaskan.

Mahkamah Agung (MA) telah memutuskan seluruh aset milik korban atau jemaah PT First Anugerah Karya Wisata alias First Travel dikembalikan.

Hakim Ketua Majelis dalam putusan PK ini yakni Sunarto, dengan anggota masing-masing Jupriyadi dan Yohanes Priyana. Lalu, yang duduk sebagai panitera pengganti (PP), Carolina.

Putusan perkara nomor: 365 PK/PID.SUS/2022 itu dibacakan pada Senin, 23 Mei 2022.

Sebelumnya, Tim kuasa hukum Bos First Travel, Andika Surachman, Anniesa Hasibuan, dan Kiki Hasibuan alias Siti Nuraida Hasibuan, mengajukan permohonan peninjauan kembali (PK). Dia menyerahkan berkas PK ke Pengadilan Negeri Depok pada Selasa 11 Agustus 2020.

Salah satu Tim Kuasa Hukum, Boris Tampubolon mengaku memiliki novum atau bukti baru berupa putusan perdata.

"Bukti yang kita punya ini itu arahanya bahwa sebenernya ini arahmya perdata. Hubungan perdata antara jemaah dengan pihak First travel. Yang kita sayangkan masalah ini dibawa ke jalur pidana. Padahal aturan hukum bilang kalau masalah perdata itu ya selesaikan secara perdata," kata dia di PN Depok, Selasa 11 Agustus 2020.

Boris menerangkan, bunyi putusan secara garis besar adalah kesepakatan antara kliennya dengan jamaah First Travel salah salah satunya tentang pengembalian uang.

"Putusan itu memenuhi rasa keadlian korban yang diminta oleh korban bahwa mereka ingin berangkat, bahwa mereka ingin uangnya dikembalikan. Itu sudah disetujui dan sudah diputus oleh pengadiln pedata waktu itu. Oke. Damai. Sepakat," ujar dia.

U.S. issues travel warning for Israel with Iran attack believed to be imminent and fear Gaza war could spread

Tel Aviv  — Israel is bracing for a worst-case scenario that U.S. officials believe could materialize within just hours — the possibility of a direct attack on Israeli soil by Iran in retaliation for a strike almost two weeks ago that killed seven Iranian military officers. Iran has vowed to take revenge for Israel killing its commanders, who were hit by an April 1 strike on the Iranian embassy in Syria's capital.

Two U.S. officials told CBS News that a major Iranian attack against Israel was expected as soon as Friday, possibly to include more than 100 drones and dozens of missiles aimed at military targets inside the country. Sources have told CBS News the retaliation could include attacks carried out both by Iranian forces, and proxy groups around the region that it has been funnelling additional arms to for weeks.  

The officials said it would be challenging for the Israelis to defend against an attack of that magnitude, and while they held out the possibility that the Iranians could opt for a smaller-scale attack to avoid a dramatic escalation, their retaliation was believed to be imminent. 

Asked Friday how imminent he believes an attack is, President Biden responded, "I don't want to get into secure information, but my expectation is sooner than later." The president urged Iran not to move forward, saying his message to Tehran was: "Don't."

Tehran has not indicated publicly how or when it will return fire, so it's unclear how far Iran's leaders will go. If they decide to carry out a direct attack on Israel, there's fear it could blow Israel's ongoing war against Iranian ally Hamas up into a much wider regional conflict.

With the Iranian retaliation expected at any time, the U.S. State Department on Thursday warned Americans in Israel not to travel outside major cities, which are better protected from incoming rocket fire by the country's Iron Dome missile defense system. The latest guidance noted that travel by U.S. government employees in Israel could be further restricted with little notice as things develop in the tinderbox region.

"Whoever harms us, we will harm them," Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu vowed Thursday as he visited troops at an Israel Defense Forces airbase. "We are prepared … both defensively and offensively."

Sima Shine, a security expert and former official with Israel's national intelligence agency Mossad, told CBS News it was a dangerous moment for the region, and the "most worried" she has been. She said anxiety over an all-out war was likely just as high "on both sides, in Israel and in Iran."

If Iran does choose to strike Israel directly, it could involve a complex missile and drone attack similar to the one Iranian forces launched against a Saudi oil facility in 2019 .

"They will try to do it on the military or some military asset," Shine predicted. "But the question will be the damage. If there would be many injured people, killed or injured … I think it has the potential for a huge escalation."

Shine stressed, however, that she still believes neither side actually wants a regional conflict.

U.S. "really trying to avoid war"

The U.S. sent a senior general to Israel this week to coordinate with the close American ally on any response it might make to an Iranian attack. Speaking Friday on "CBS Mornings," America's top military officer said, "we're really trying to avoid war."

"This is part of the dialogue that I have with my counterparts within the region, to include the Israeli chief of defense, who I talked to yesterday," said Joint Chiefs chairman Gen. Charles Q. Brown, Jr., adding that the U.S. military was "doing things not only to prevent a war, but at the same time, one of my primary things is to make sure all the forces in the region are protected."

"My role, as the chairman of the Joint Chiefs, is to plan and prepare," Brown said. "That's one thing we do very well."

Brown's Israeli counterpart, Chief of the General Staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, "completed a comprehensive situational assessment on the readiness of the IDF for all scenarios," Israel's military said Friday. 

"The IDF is very strongly prepared, both offensively and defensively, against any threat," Halevi was quoted as saying in the statement. "The IDF continues to monitor closely what is happening in Iran and different arenas, constantly preparing to deal with existing and potential threats in coordination with the United States Armed Forces." 

The IDF said the visiting U.S. general, Central Command chief Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, was taking part in the IDF's situational assessment.

The dilemma for Iran, said Israeli expert Shine, is to figure out how to deliver its promised response to Israel's attack in Syria, but in a way that does not lead to further escalation. Likewise, Shine said Israel could choose to show restraint when it responds to whatever Iran eventually does.

If either side gets the balance wrong, the consequences for the region, and even the world, could be dire.

Russia is this vast, diverse, and magnificent land that many international travellers dream of visiting. The capital city Moscow and the second largest city in the country St Petersburg are, in particular, one of the most magical and interesting cities in the world you can visit all year-round. That is why today we decided to focus yours and our attention to both cities. Learn how to explore them properly if you are a first-time visitor. How to ensure that you make the most of your visit. What to expect, etc.

The Kremlin, Moscow

Despite the fact that even a month or two will not be enough to explore Moscow or St Petersburg to the fullest and enjoy everything these amazing cities have to offer, not many of us have the luck to spend such a long time abroad. We would provide you with some recommendations and ideas you can totally make happen within a 4-day itinerary in Moscow and a 4-day itinerary in St Petersburg.

In addition, please note that the majority of the international and continental flights are to the capital city Moscow that is a home to the biggest and most popular airport in the country. So Moscow will be the starting point of your over a week-long journey to Russia. Let’s discuss some of the basics you should know and prepare for!

The first thing you have to do when planning to visit Russia is applying for a visa. There are only a few countries in the world that are to require a visa when visiting the country. In the majority of the cases, you should have one in order to visit the country. Be prepared for your visa application by making sure you own and can provide a proof of arrival and departure dates, and an invitation letter from either a tour provider or an accommodation booked.

Make sure to check out the website of your country’s government for additional requirements and papers needed. The easiest way to get an invitation letter from an accommodation is by booking a major hotel chain. They are more used to dealing with international visitors and will assist and support you throughout the process, providing you with everything you need for entering the country. Please keep in mind that the application process can take up to a few weeks and you have to send your original passport away, so make sure you don’t need it during this time.

However, there is one way to visit St Petersburg for three days visa-free. This happens if you arrive by ferry or cruise ship when you will be allowed to arrive and stay in the city for 72 hours without applying for a visa. This is the only way and a great option to visit one of the most magnificent and impressive cities in Russia without going through the whole visa application process that can be pretty overwhelming, indeed.

Well, Russian language is not the most popular in the world, despite the fact it is spoken by a big number of people, who are citizens not only of the country but also of the ex-USSR. Chances are, you are not familiar with the language and with the Cyrillic alphabet used in the country, where you will find that the majority of the signs around the cities are in Cyrillic, which can make it harder for you to find your way around, but also a great bunch of the names of many international brands and companies. In addition, once you get to Russia you will find out that English is definitely not widely-spoken by the general population, even in big cities such as Moscow and St Petersburg, where most of the people, no matter their age, will speak little to no English.

However, don’t be afraid that you will get lost or in trouble. Let Google Translate, hand gestures, and a little common sense make all the hard work and you will be ok. Keep in mind that having an Internet connection on your phone all the time will be very helpful for finding your way around. In addition, many restaurants in the main tourist areas in both cities have an English menu you can ask for, while the same applies to the maps and brochures of the major tourist attractions.

Getting Around

Both Moscow and St Petersburg have an awful traffic, which means that taxis can cost you a lot. Buses and cars can take a long time when traffic is at its full potential and in order to save yourself some time and coins. We highly recommend you using the metro/underground systems in both cities. Moscow’s metro system is simply amazing. It has a huge network of interconnecting lines that will help you get around and across the city very efficiently.

Make sure to grab a map of the Moscow’s metro, which will make it very easy to navigate, plus the stations are announced in English. In addition, using the metro is incredibly cheap and it will get you anywhere in the city for less than $1. Moscow’s metro is also known for some of the most beautiful and spectacular metro stations in the world that are definitely worth visiting as amazing tourist attractions of their own.

The metro is St Petersburg isn’t nearly as extensive as the Moscow’s one and the stations are more spread out. In this case, you can take advantage of the Uber service in the city and explore St Petersburg by ordering an Uber driver that will cost you significantly cheaper than a taxi. Thanks to the big number of drivers available, you will be able to find a free car very quickly. However, considering the fact that St Petersburg is more touristy and most of the main sights are located in what is called the Golden Triangle, you can easily explore the main tourist attractions by foot. There are also sightseeing buses and canal transports that will take you all along and around the main sights in St Petersburg.

The Russian currency is Russian ruble and you can expect to spend a lot of it because both Moscow and St Petersburg are pretty expensive cities with a higher standard and cost of living. Knowing that both cities are generally pretty expensive will help you plan that fact into your budget and consider some way to spend money if you are not travelling with a limitless budget. For example, make sure to choose a hotel that is in the outskirts of the city and in a short walking distance from a metro station. This way you can save a huge amount of money compared to a hotel in the city centre and you can also save on travel time. If you are student do not forget to take your valid student ID with you since some attractions and museums are offering a student discount.

Tickets and Attractions

When it comes to tickets for shows, museums, and attractions, the best way is to buy them beforehand. This way you can save time and not wait in hours-long lines, you can even benefit from an online purchase discount, and most importantly – you can make sure that your place and visit is reserved since many attractions in Russia sell a limited amount of tickets per day. There are some places that are very popular and tickets can sell out weeks in advance. An online purchase will help you figure out what and when you can visit, and you can plan your tour better and more effectively.

The weather in Moscow and St Petersburg can be pretty unpredictable all year-round. Because of that make sure to pack a variety of clothes for all seasons, dress in layers, and don’t take the weather forecast for the day as a final promise. Make sure to always take an umbrella or a raincoat with you. For women, bringing a scarf can be very useful for a practical reason, but also because some churches and cathedrals in Russia expect you to cover your hair with a scarf.

If you are a foodie, you will be happy to know that Russia has its very own and unique cuisine and we highly recommend you trying out some of the most popular dishes in the country including the Russian dumplings pierogi, the infamous Russian salads such as Olivie, Mimoza, and Seliodka pod shuba, etc. However, if you are not willing to try out the local cuisine, there are many international restaurants and familiar fast food chains in both cities Moscow and St Petersburg.

Things to Do and Places to See

Both Moscow and St Petersburg are cities that offer a lot to be seen, explored, experienced, and enjoyed. Some of the most important, stunning, and exciting sights in Moscow: the Red Square, where you can visit the St. Basil’s Cathedral and the GUM Department Store. The Kremlin that contains the Great Bell Tower. The Tsar Bell, Tsar Cannon, several cathedrals, gardens, and the Armory Chamber. Arbat Street is the most touristic street in Moscow with a lot of places to eat, plenty of shops to buy, and all the souvenirs you can ever imagine and want to take home with you.

The metro stations, despite the fact that they are one of the busiest in the world, are definitely very clean and beautifully constructed and ornamented. Izmaylovsky Flea Market is just a few metro stations away from the centre. It is a great place to get to know the Russian culture and everyday life while shopping for some more authentic and interesting souvenirs. Sparrow Hill is one of the highest spots in Moscow and offers some great views of the modern city, plus it is the location of the Lomonosov Moscow State University.

Saint Petersburg is often referred to as one of the most beautiful and stunning cities not only in Russia but in the whole world. It has plenty of unique sights and magnificent things to see in the city. If your time is limited you should make sure to cover at least the highlights. The Church of the Savior on Spilled Blood, since its exterior and interior, are equally breath-taking.

Hop on a canal cruise to explore the city from a different perspective. Visit Kazan Cathedral and St. Isaac’s Cathedral, where you can go inside and also climb the stairs to the top and enjoy some stunning views of the city. The Palace Square, which is home to the Winter Palace, which was the lavish residence of the Russian monarchs and is nowadays a part of the Hermitage Museum.

Of course, visiting Saint Petersburg without visiting the Hermitage Museum is like going to Rome and not seeing the Pope. The Hermitage is one of the largest and most spectacular museums in the world and a day is not enough to explore each and every one of its nooks and corners. When in the city, you can also visit the Peter and Paul Fortress, the Peterhof Palace.

Despite the fact that media loves to sensationalise the negative stories in Russia and the fact that the country is often portrayed as a pretty unsafe place by the western media, the chances of you getting into a trouble, feel threatened, or in a danger are as minimal as possible. However, keep in mind that some things are rather recommended not to do, for example taking a picture of any government, military or security building. Despite not forbidden, you better use your camera for capturing some more exciting moments. In addition, always bring a photocopy of your passport and visa with you, since police can demand you to legitimize yourself anytime.

Only with a guide you’ll be able to survive the maze of Moscow’s streets

Moscow isn’t exactly the easiest city to find one’s way around if you are a foreign tourist or a businessman. Luckily, you’ve already had your stay planned beforehand by yourself or by other people responsible for that, with all the transportation and guide services arranged for. But what if you’d like to veer off the beaten path a little bit and check out something that’s not on your tour program? If you came by yourself and have no one to take care of meet and greet service in a Moscow airport, you might find yourself a little bit confused and overwhelmed. The language barrier can make things even more complicated if you don’t have someone who can translate with you – not so many people can speak English here, let alone other foreign languages. Feeling stranded in the airport in Moscow and being absolutely confused by the transportation system of the city is definitely not the best way to start your trip, so give a thought to the meet & greet service I can provide you straight from any Moscow international airportcustoms and passport control.

There are five airports in Moscow. Domodedovo airport and Sheremetyevo airport are the two international airports that most foreign visitors will arrive at. These two handle most of the international traffic, so they’re going to be your gateway to the city and the country. The customs procedures and passport control are nothing special; everything’s pretty much as you would expect them to be in any major airport around the globe. First you go through passport control. After you’ve got the stamps, you are free to pick up your luggage. Then it’s time for the customs proceedings. Just be sure to declare all your valuable possessions or large amounts of cash and hold to those papers until the day of departure, as you’ll need them when you depart. The time it takes to pass all the controls may vary depending on how many flights have arrived around that time; generally it takes anything from half an hour to an hour or more if it’s a particularly busy time.

Even locals get lost in Moscow sometimes, being a foreigner doesn’t help the situation

After you are done with all the paperwork, you walk out into the arrivals hall and are basically free to go about your business. If you’re not a first time visitor, can speak Russian or just feel confident exploring and finding your own way around Moscow, you can call a taxi, catch a train or a bus straight out of the airport and get to the city proper. After that, there’s a variety of ways to get where you want – but I’ve got to warn you that sometimes navigating Moscow can be hard even for a local. The public transportation system is fairly complex, the traffic is intense, and, as I said before, the language barrier can really get in your way when you need to find the simplest and quickest route around the city.

In most cases you’ll be much better off with someone who’ll take care of all that stuff for you, leaving your hands and mind free to enjoy the trip. We can arrange the meeting in airport if you provide me your contact and arrival data. Usually, I’d be holding a card with your name in the Moscow airport arrivals hall, standing near an easy-to-spot landmark right close to where you’ll be coming from. Of course, I can also provide you with photos of me so that you’d have an easier time finding me in the crowd. In case of an emergency you can also contact me via the cell phone number I will provide you with. I will wait for you to go through all the paperwork and customs control. Don’t worry if it takes a while, or if your plane is delayed – I’ll still be there to pick you up right after you’re done. It would be great if we could work out a preliminary schedule for your stay in Moscow, but there’s absolutely nothing stopping you from changing anything mid-course. I’m completely open to your suggestions any time during your stay in Moscow – just tell me what you need, and I’ll use all my knowledge and experience to guarantee you’ll have an unforgettably pleasant visit to Moscow.

Permohonan PKPU Kasus First Travel Dikabulkan PN Jakpus

Putusan permohonan PKPU ini dinilai dapat menyelamatkan nasib para jemaah First Travel yang selama ini terlantar karena belum berangkat umrah ataupun mendapat ganti rugi.

Pertimbangan lain adalah adanya kelalaian dari pihak First Travel dalam memberangkatkan calon jemaahnya. Puluhan ribu pihak tidak diberangkatkan dan kemunduran jadwal keberangkatan dilakukan secara sepihak. Uang ganti rugi pun tidak dibayarkan, sehingga tindakan First Travel dapat dikategorikan sebagai utang yang belum dibayarkan kepada jemaah First Travel.

Menanggapi hal ini, salah satu kuasa hukum jemaah First Travel Anggi Putera Kusuma puas terhadap putusan hakim. Ia menilai tindakan majelis hakim sudah sesuai dengan fakta yang ada, di mana uang jemaah dikategorikan sebagai utang yang harus dibayarkan oleh pihak First Travel.

Ia pun sangat menyambut baik putusan PKPU ini dan berharap masalah ini bisa segera selesai berdasar proposal perdamaian yang ditawarkan First Travel ke depan. “Kita berharap ini selesai di proposal perdamaian, tidak sampai pailit,” katanya.

Anggi menegaskan bahwa pengurus yang sudah ditetapkan oleh dewan pengawas, yakni majelis hakim – akan segera melakukan pengumuman di surat kabar dalam 5 hari ke depan. Dalam pengumuman tersebut, pengurus yang terpilih akan memberitahukan tentang pertemuan perdana pada kreditur – atau dalam kasus ini adalah sekitar 62.000 jemaah First Travel.

PKPU untuk Selesaikan Seluruh Masalah Jemaah

Beberapa pihak dikabarkan masih ingin mengajukan PKPU ke pengadilan. Namun, Anggi menyatakan bahwa hal ini tidak diperlukan karena putusan PKPU berlaku bagi semuanya. Proposal perdamaian yang nantinya dibuat oleh tim kuasa hukum First Travel, dikatakan Anggi, wajib memuat penawaran yang bisa mengakomodasi semua keinginan jemaah ataupun vendor (dalam hal ini, pihak lain yang terutang oleh First Travel).

“Itu mewakili semuanya, misal ada 70.000 jemaah, ya semua 70.000 jemaah itu harus diminta suaranya, setuju atau tidak terhadap nota perdamaian itu,” katanya menjelaskan.

Menurutnya, keputusan ini tentunya lebih baik dalam menentukan nasib para jemaah. Selama ini jemaah kebingungan karena tidak ada ganti rugi dan kepastian keberangkatan. Namun, dengan adanya PKPU, nasib mereka jadi jelas, setidaknya untuk 45 hari ke depan.

“Jadi nanti akan ada mekanisme pengambilan suara yang dibuat oleh pengurus. Bisa 50% + 1 dan sebagainya, yang jelas proposal perdamaian harus disetujui berdasar voting itu,” lanjutnya.

Nama pengurus sekaligus kurator dalam proses PKPU First Travel ini adalah Sexio Yuni Noor Sidqi, Abdillah, Ahmad Ali Fahmi dan Lusyana Mahdaniar. Semuanya merupakan bagian dari Kemenkuham dan tidak memiliki konflik kepentingan dengan First Travel atau perkara lainnya.

Sementara itu, satu lagi pengurus yakni Nasution telah mengundurkan diri karena telah menangani tiga kasus PKPU yang lain. Tugas dari pengurus ini adalah untuk menghantarkan agar debitur dan kreditur dapat menyelesaikan proposal perdamaian. Selain empat pengurus tersebut, ada hakim pengawas dari PN Jakarta Pusat yakni Titik Tejaningsih.

Deski yang menjabat sebagai Ketua Divisi Legal Handling Complaint First Travel mengaku tidak masalah dengan putusan PKPU yang dikabulkan oleh majelis hakim. Dalam 2-3 hari ke depan, pihaknya akan mengadakan pertemuan dengan tim advokasi First Travel yang lain di Hotel Borobudur. Sebisa mungkin ia akan menawarkan penyelesaian yang baik bagi semua jemaah.

“Pak Direktur (Andika Surachman) inginnya kita tidak dipailitkan. Jemaah tetap diberangkatkan,” ujar Deski.

Kendati demikian, Deski masih belum menjelaskan bagaimana caranya memenuhi tuntutan penyelesaian utang yang diinginkan oleh para jemaah. Ia sendiri masih bersikukuh untuk tetap memberangkatkan jemaah daripada harus mengembalikan uang. Berdasar data terakhir, utang First Travel bisa mencapai Rp967 miliar. Deski hanya menyampaikan bahwa pasti ada jalan dari yang Maha Kuasa dalam penyelesaian masalah First Travel ini.

“ Insyaallah . Kami lebih mudah memberangkatkan karena itu menjadi tanggung jawab kami,” paparnya ketika ditanya tentang sumber dana. Dengan terkabulkannya PKPU oleh majelis hakim, First Travel harus membuat proposal perdamaian dalam jangka waktu paling lama 45 hari dan perpanjangan sampai 270 hari. Proposal ini harus diterima oleh semua jemaah atau pihak yang menjadi kreditur – atau setidaknya sebagian besar kreditur.

Jika proposal perdamaian tidak diterima, maka First Travel akan dinyatakan pailit alias bangkrut dan asetnya disita oleh pihak pengadilan. Aset tersebut akan dikelola oleh kurator dan dilelang untuk membayar utang-utang First Travel. Buruknya, bila aset tersebut tidak dapat menutup seluruh utang First Travel, bisa jadi ada jemaah yang tidak mendapatkan ganti rugi apa-apa.

I visit Universal Orlando several times a year. Here are my top 10 tips for first-timers.

I’ll never forget walking out of Universal Islands of Adventure in 2022, drenched from head to toe after riding Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barge . 

It was my first trip back to Universal Orlando Resort in years, and I learned some things the hard way, which I gladly shared with fellow travelers, hoping that they’d avoid my mistakes .

Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to visit the Florida resort several times a year. And while I stand by my earlier tips, I’ve learned a few others.

Here are my top tips for first-timers visiting Universal Orlando.

1.  Stay on property

From RV parks to vacation rentals, there’s no shortage of places to stay in Central Florida, but it can pay to stay on property when visiting Universal Orlando. Not only are prices comparable to off-property hotels with Endless Summer Surfside and Dockside starting at $99 a night, but all of Universal’s resort hotels offer 30 minutes of early entry to select parks, which vary depending on time of year. 

They also provide free resort transportation, so you can get back to your room fairly quickly after a long park day or for a midday break. That free transportation can be clutch in the mornings, particularly at pricier Loews Sapphire Falls , Loews Royal Pacific , Loews Portofino Bay , and Hard Rock Hotel , which offer water taxis that drop you off closer to the parks than you can get arriving by car or bus. Cabana Bay Beach Resort and Aventura Hotel guests can walk over to Sapphire Falls for water taxis, but the extra time and steps added may make it not worth skipping the resort shuttle bus.

Walking paths are also available to the parks from every resort hotel except the Endless Summer ones. Cabana Bay guests also have a dedicated walking path to Universal’s Volcano Bay water park.

Guests staying at Royal Pacific, Portofino Bay and Hard Rock also get free Universal Express Passes , which dramatically cut waits for most rides and normally start at $79.99 per person. Free package delivery is also available to all resort hotels, if guests don’t want to lug park purchases around all day.

2. Buy a popcorn bucket

Snacking at the parks can get expensive. Guests are welcome to bring their own snacks, but there’s one crowd-pleaser that won’t break the bank. 

A plain popcorn bucket costs a little over $12, and you can keep getting refills throughout your trip. Refills cost around $2 each, making popcorn among the cheapest, most shareable snacks on property. On our last trip, my family and I got multiple refills for the price of one pretzel with cheese dip.

3.  Bring a light, refillable water bottle

Staying hydrated is always important, particularly on hot park days. 

You can fill water bottles with free ice-cold water at any of the many Coca-Cola Freestyle machines across the property. Cups of ice water are also available for free anywhere dispensed soft drinks are sold.

Leave big double-walled stainless steel tumblers at home. Not only will they feel heavy, carrying them around all the day, but if they aren’t leak-proof, they’ll make a mess when you tip them on their sides to fit in lockers for thrill rides.

4. Bring a medium-sized bag to carry your stuff

Numerous attractions, from Jurassic World VelociCoaster to Men in Black Alien Attack , require guests to store loose articles in lockers provided for the duration of the ride. 

I previously recommended keeping most of your things together to avoid having to empty every pocket each time. That’s still true, but I want to add a caveat on size. 

The free lockers aren’t very big. They can fit a Loungefly-style mini backpack or empty popcorn bucket, if you squish them down, but they’re not large enough for packed full-size backpacks. Keep that in mind unless you want to pay for larger lockers.

5. Bring ponchos

Ponchos don’t take a lot of space and can save you from getting soaked like me on Popeye & Bluto's Bilge-Rat Barge, Dudley Do-Right’s Rip Saw Falls , and Jurassic Park River Adventure .

Even if you skip water rides, ponchos are good to keep on hand for rainy park days.

6. Use single-rider lines 

Many attractions have a single-rider lane. If you’re traveling alone or don’t mind your party being split up, you can save time using the single-rider lane, if it’s open. They’re not always offered.

It doesn’t guarantee a short wait, but it’s usually shorter. On our latest trip, my middle schooler still waited at least 45 minutes for The Incredible Hulk Coaster and an hour for Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit . That was about as long as the regular standby wait for Hulk but shorter than the standby wait for Rip Ride Rockit.

The following attractions have single-rider lanes, though availability varies.

7. Use child swap 

If someone in your party doesn’t meet ride requirements for an attraction or simply wants to sit it out, you can ask for a child swap. It’s particularly helpful for families with young children because it allows parents and caregivers to take turns riding the ride and staying with whoever is sitting it out.

On our most recent trip, my youngest didn’t want to ride Hagrid’s Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure , so we all waited in line together, but then she and I peeled off to a designated waiting room while my middle schooler and mother-in-law went on the ride. When they were done, my mother-in-law stayed with my youngest while I went on the ride. My middle schooler lucked out, getting to ride it twice.

Not all attractions have waiting rooms, but they all offer swaps. Just let team members know you need one.

8. Take breaks

Theme parks can be exhausting. Not only are you on your feet all day, but they can be loud, crowded and overstimulating. 

When possible, I like to plan for at least one sit-down meal in the day. This way, I can take my time and recuperate in air conditioning away from crowds. I’ll typically splurge on one table-service meal, but there are several medium-priced, quick-service restaurants across both theme parks where you can grab a lighter snack and relax.

Really, any cool spot where you can sit down works. Knockturn Alley in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley at Universal Studios Florida is always refreshing, though dark. Jurassic Park Discovery Center in Islands of Adventure is a great place for kids to explore while adults unwind. 

9.  Watch the shows

Rides get a lot of the love, but Universal Orlando’s live entertainment is top tier. You can find showtimes on the free resort app or simply stop to watch performances you stumble across while roaming the parks.

The only year-round shows with dedicated seating are at Universal Studios Florida: Animal Actors On Location! , The Bourne Stuntacular , and Universal Orlando’s Horror Make-Up Show, which is more funny than scary.

10. Let little ones stretch their legs

There are several play areas across both theme parks for little ones to burn off energy.

This summer, a new DreamWorks Land will open at Universal Studios Florida with a “Kung Fu Panda”-themed play area.

At Islands of Adventure, kids can explore Camp Jurassic in Jurassic Park, If I Ran a Zoo in Seuss Landing, and Me Ship, The Olive in Toon Lagoon. There are also splash pads and water features across Toon Lagoon; just make sure to either bring swimsuits or backup clothes for those.

Bonus: Don’t sleep on Volcano Bay

You’ll definitely want to pack swimsuits if you’re heading to Volcano Bay, which regularly ranks among the best water parks in the country and adds a completely different experience to vacations.

It’s themed like a tropical paradise, with plenty of trees and an iconic volcano that houses multiple water slides. The water park can get crowded, but you never spend too much time standing in line because every guest gets a Tapu Tapu wearable bracelet that lets them join one virtual queue at a time. 

Single-day tickets start at $80, which is considerably less than the $119 starting price for guests age 10 and up at Universal Studios Florida or Islands of Adventure, but still not cheap. However, if you’re already planning to buy multi-day tickets for both theme parks, tacking on Volcano Bay is not much more.

Dog toy company BARK will launch a jet charter service that promises “white paw service” — though it will cost as much as $16,000 for a round-trip ticket for just one pooch and its doting owner.

Dubbed BARK Air, the company best known for its subscription BarkBoxes filled with pet toys and treats, seeks to solve the problems that typically arise when humans travel with their fur babies.

Though smaller dogs can typically ride in a carrier placed under the seat in front of them, larger dogs must undergo what’s known to be the stressful experience of being put in crates in a plane’s cargo space.

“We are excited to take the insights we’ve learned over years to create an experience that is truly dog-first, which is drastically different from just accepting dogs — from the ground to the skies,” Matt Meeker, the co-founder and chief executive at BARK, said in a press release Thursday.

BARK Air’s first flight departs from New York’s Westchester County Airport to Los Angeles’s Van Nuys Airport on May 23.

Currently, there are only two flight routes available, both from Westchester County Airport to either Van Nuys Airport — which costs $6,000 one way for one dog and one human — or to London’s Stansted Airport — which goes for $8,000 one way.

Following booking, humans are connected with a BARK concierge assigned to collect information about their four-legged passengers to ensure the best possible experience during the long-haul flight.

But BARK Air won’t just be pet friendly — it will treat its four-legged passengers like first-class passengers, the New York-based company said.

On travel day, dogs and their owners are only required to show up at the airport 45 minutes ahead of their scheduled flight time “for a simple, efficient check-in process — no crates, no stressful TSA checkpoints,” per BARK Air’s website .

From there, concierges will bring the dogs aboard to a cabin prepared with calming aids such as music, warm lavender-scented refreshment towels, and pheromones — scents that mimic the natural chemicals released by animals that help them communicate — among other comforts.

Treats, noise-canceling ear muffs, and calming jackets will also be on hand as part of BARK’s “Dogs Fly First” flight prep, which ensures that each pooch is comfortable upon takeoff.

The dogs are offered a beverage at takeoff and descent to help their ears adjust to cabin pressurization.

“We believe this initiative will raise awareness of BARK’s mission in a cost-effective manner,” said Zahir Ibrahim, BARK’s Chief Financial Officer. “Given we are not committed to booking flights far in advance, we have a lot of flexibility to opportunistically charter flights during times of high demand.”

Users on social media, however, panned the sky-high fares.

“Was so excited for this but am mind blown at the $6k price tag. Hopefully y’all can make this much more affordable in the future,” one user commented on BARK Air’s Instagram post introducing the luxe airline.

“I would genuinely love to see the data that convinced you to believe $12K round trip tickets are a viable business model and one worth marketing to the general public,” another said.

A third said a $6,000 to $8,000 fare for just one way “is ridiculous.”

It wasn’t immediately clear which jet charter company BARK is partnering with for its pet-friendly trips.

The Post has sought comment from BARK.

2024 NFL schedule: Packers have one travel concern for their historic game in Brazil against the Eagles

The packers seem to have one small complaint about being sent to brazil.

The Green Bay Packers are officially headed for Brazil , and now, they just have to figure out how to get there. Getting to a road game isn't usually a complicated process for an NFL team , but it could be for the Packers when they make their trip down to São Paulo for their 2024 season opener against the Philadelphia Eagles .   

The Packers concern is that they likely won't be able to fly directly to South America, which means they'll either have to schedule a layover somewhere or they'll have to take the nearly two-hour bus ride to Milwaukee to fly out of the airport there. 

Packers president Mark Murphy outlined the concern during an interview at the NFL 's annual league meeting on March 26 (The Packers hadn't been chosen for the game yet, but they were considered a finalist at that point). 

"The one issue with Green Bay is the size of our airport and the size of our runway, and we want to make sure that we're not at a competitive disadvantage in terms of how long it's going to take us to get to Brazil," Murphy said. "There's some thought that we might have to bus to Milwaukee and then fly, just some of those things."

When the Packers flew to London in 2022, they were able to take off from Green Bay for the 3,830-mile flight, but for São Paulo, the team will be traveling nearly 5,400 miles, which means the Packers will likely need a bigger plane and as Murphy notes, the airport in Green Bay isn't equipped to handle larger planes. 

If the Packers have to bus to Milwaukee, that would take about two hours and if you add that to the roughly 10.5-hour flight, that would put their travel time at nearly 13 hours. As for the Eagles, they'll easily be able to fly from Philadelphia and their flight will only take about 9.5 hours. 

"Philadelphia will just hop on a plane and go down (there)," Murphy said on April 9,  via Madison.com . 

As things stand today, the Packers are still trying to figure out how they're going to get to South America. 

"We're not sure exactly what we'll have to do to get to Brazil," Murphy said. 

There's a good chance that the Eagles don't feel sorry for the Packers at all. Philadelphia is giving up a home game to play in Brazil, so the fact that the Packers might have to deal with a few travel issues adds an element of home-field advantage that the Eagles are otherwise losing. 

Although Murphy isn't thrilled with the travel situation, he is thrilled that the Packers are playing in such a huge game for the NFL. 

"We're looking forward to being a part of this historic matchup against the Eagles in São Paulo," Murphy said on Wednesday after the game was officially announced. "We're excited to play in front of our devoted fans in Brazil and help build upon the international popularity of the NFL and the Packers. We had a great experience playing internationally for the first time a couple of years ago and we're proud to be part of the league's continued global growth."

The Week 1 matchup, which will be the NFL's first-ever regular-season game in Brazil, will kick off on Friday, Sept. 6 and it will be streaming exclusively on Peacock. It's the NFL's first Friday game in Week 1 since 1970.
