They have this operation dialed in. It is short but very sweet. The open bar and fun, yet competent, staff makes for good times on the water. The views are great, they have good music going, and it is fun meeting other folks on board. Definitely check it out!

Great time snorkeling with this crew! We saw a lot of fish and many sea turtles. My daughter loved jumping off the side of the boat over and over! Drinks were great too!

What a wonderful experience! The crew was friendly and fun. The drinks were tasty and plentiful. The sunset was gorgeous and the moonrise was a terrific bonus. I highly recommend!

My husband and I had a wonderful time on the 2:30 Sunset Cruise. The guys sailing us out were super nice. It was beautiful on the water, and we even saw a turtle in the water! The Mai Tai drinks they had on board, were actually the best we had the entire trip. I would defiantly recommend this experience! P.S. you could get soaked...we did :-)

This was a great experience. This sail is very calm and relaxing and a completely different experience from the trade wind sails, where you expect to get tossed around and get wet. The crew was very friendly and attentive. The sunset was gorgeous, even though it was overcast all day. My wife and I now prefer this sail over the trade winds sails we have done in the past. Great sail!

So much fun! One of the more affordable sunset cruises and 100% worth it. The workers on the boat were friendly and upbeat and did a great job of cultivating a fun vibe. Would do it again in a heartbeat.

My friend was visiting me on the island and we both loved this experience! The crew is so refreshing and fun! It was a mix of young and old! It was a great time! Would definitely recommend!

BEST. SUNSET. CRUISE. EVER!!! Went on this cruise with a group of 5 kids (ages 3-15) and 9 adults. Fabulous experience from boarding to beach. The kids will remember this forever. I highly recommend this boat for anyone looking to be on a sailboat at sunset. Kids are back on the boat to snorkel today.

I originally called to see if there was spots for the 4th of July fireworks sailing but the women on the phone said it was sold out. She offered to take my name/number in case there were openings. I honestly didn't expect them to write it down, but the day before the sail I got a call and two spots had opened. I booked the package and was sent a confirmation email with all the details on where to meet, etc. Day of the sail, the pickup point was easily identifiable and I got there just as the sunset cruise was coming in to drop off people. The check in process was easy, give your name, sign, and go on board. I was also surprised to see the attempts made by the crew to locate two people who didn't show up for check in. They were calling multiple times, looking on the beach, etc. I thought they'd just leave, but I was very impressed Once started sailing, they did a safety briefing and the bar opened up - open bar! The crew was very appreciative for the tips and didn't seem pushy at all. Other catamarans I've been on made it uncomfortable - constantly saying you take care of me, I take care of you, every time you order a "open bar" drink. But not here, it was very friendly and comfortable environment. The captain took us right up to the perimeter of the fireworks and had a great time! I highly recommend any cruise with Manu Kai!

Very easy and fun way to snorkel. We walked to the meeting spot and easily found the catamaran. The crew were all funny, helpful and kind. They have different size life vests and good snorkel gear. If you get seasick I highly recommend taking Dramamine beforehand because I actually got seasick while snorkeling! You should be a good swimmer because the water can be rough. We saw tons of fish and turtles. Getting back on the boat with an alcoholic drink for the ride back was great. Would definitely come again

Best experience in Hawaii. The crew on 11/10/2022 was a pleasure to be around. They were all very accommodating and made myself and family very comfortable during our visit with them. It was a beautiful experience that I will remember for years to come. Thank you all!

Manu Kai crew was very good and attentive to the passengers and offer good refreshments and snorkel gear. The experience is also VERY affordable when most other activities are so expensive. Also, leaving from Waikiki Beach and at decent times made the experience so much more convenient and fun. I will be back.

We were staying at Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort and saw the boat coming in and out for a few days. I decided to book a snorkel excursion for the family this morning via website. It was totally quick and easy. On the boat, the crew was fabulous - extremely friendly and knowledgeable. We saw turtles and fish at the reef. It was a perfect trip length for my family.

Did the booze cruise - I don't think the staff said a word to us, music was OK, staff just very unengaging. Did the snorkel with my son to turtle canyon which was cool, but again, staff was unengaging. More interested in chatting with the single ladies on the boat than answering questions about our snorkel gear. But the kicker was when I smelled a cigarette on the boat - confused about who TF would smoke on a snorkel cruise with a bunch of kids, I looked around to find out who it was. It was the captain. SMH

This review is for the 3 men on board working the 9am catamaran on 8/20. I booked the catamaran to spread my fathers ashes for our family and friends. They went over the rules and asked where we prefer to scatter our ashes. They allowed us to use the stairs so I could scatter my fathers ashes as close to the ocean as possible and constantly asked if we wanted refreshments or any assistance.

Absolutely beautiful experience with this company and the people who run it. They were patient, understanding and took time to answer questions and didn't over book! Even took a little extra time and didn't make my son feel like they wanted to hurry up and end the activity!! This is the company you want to go with if you want to snorkel with the sea turtles, however do not book using a 3rd party vendor, such as Viator!! Viator is a very big mistake mistake!!!!

What a fun time on the Sunset Sail! Went with five other friends. Crew was friendly and on top of making sure we had a good time. Drinks were solid, music was great, and views were beautiful. The water was pretty choppy on our night, but that actually added to the fun for us. Boat seemed to have just the right amount of people on it - felt lively but not crowded. A true highlight of our trip. Only suggestion would have been to leave just a tad earlier as the sun was pretty low when we departed. At fifty dollars per person with 3 drinks included, it was a GREAT deal.

Our most popular trip for the fun-loving crowd, the sunset sail often turns strangers into fast friends in an hour and a half. Sit back, relax and bask in Oahu’s magnificent sunset together. We provide beverages including wine and a variety of domestic and premium local beers, along with non-alcoholic drinks. Ask about our famous holokai cocktail—guaranteed to make you smile.

All drinks are included on this lively cruise! Strangers become fast friends on this one, whether you’re cruising solo or with a crew! We provide juice, soda, bottled water, wine, champagne, and a variety of hard seltzers, domestic and premium local beers from Maui Brewing, as well as our famous “Holokai Hooch” cocktail. So sit back, have a drink, make some new friends and enjoy an amazing sunset!

While all of our activities are family friendly, Friday night Sunset Cruises are reserved for 21+ only.

The Holokai departs from the beach for all of our sails, so be sure to bring footwear that you can easily slip on and off! The specific beach for arrival and departure changes depending on the tides to ensure a safe boarding, so keep in mind that the departure spot may change and might not always be right outside the hotel. The walk down to the beach may take from 5 to 10 minutes, a maximum of 0.3 miles down to the boat.

Any guests with mobility issues or are a slower walker will have to let us know after or before you book, so we can make the appropriate accommodations.

PRE-ARRIVAL WAIVER FORM

All guests boarding the Holokai Catamaran must complete an online waiver form prior to check-in. Guests will not be permitted to board without a signed waiver. All guests 17 years of age and younger must have a waiver completed by a parent or guardian over the age of 18. Guests 17 years of age and younger must be accompanied by a parent or guardian over the age of 18 on all tours.

Discover the beautiful views of the ocean, local wildlife, the iconic east side of Oahu, and the sun dipping into the sea as you join us on a private catamaran cruise in Waikiki . We’ll depart from Kewalo Basin Harbor located in Honolulu and make our way up the coastline to Diamond Head, making stops along the way for any turtles, dolphins, or whales we may spot during our journey.

Once at the top of our route, we will find a calm anchorage to relax at and enjoy the Hawaii sunset. Guests are welcome to join me for guided snorkeling and swimming or just dip their toes in the water as we soak in the beautiful afternoon. Lastly, we will watch the sunset in the ocean as we head back to the harbor.

The vessel is exclusively reserved for your party so you are welcome to play your own music and bring any refreshments you would like to enjoy during our time together. I’ll happily be sharing my local knowledge and the cultural history of the area we are traveling in throughout the cruise. There is no better way to end the day!

Booked the sunset catamaran for our family. Can not say enough amazing things about the boat, crew, and service they provided. They were very patient with 2 kids snorkeling, answered all our questions, and we even got to see dolphins. Such a wonderful experience, definitely a must do experience in Oahu! You will not be disappointed.

Best thing we did on the islands! Crew was very knowledgeable about the island. We snorkeled with sea turtles and fish. A pod of dolphins unexpectedly joined us on our sunset cruise. I was just lovely. Would 10000% recommend.

This was our second time using Hawaii Ocean Charters we had Captain Sam whom we had in the fall of 2022 and Nick as well. Sam remembered us from our trip in the fall. We were greeted with warm welcomes and after a brief safety refresher we were on our way. We stopped to swim for a little bit. They gave my daughter a mask so she could dive down and see all the fish. They really do a great job to make sure everyone is comfortable and both Sam and Nick were super personable. I would highly recommend using them. If you don’t want to mess with a bunch of strangers on a sunset catamaran this is certainly the way to go.

We had a great sunset cruise! it was so nice having the entire catamaran to ourselves. We could sit upfront on the nets (with a bean bag to support our backs no less) or go up top with the captain for great views and conversation. The crew was great, and we will definitely be doing this tour again next time we are in Waikiki.
