The legendary Beatles bassist and singer Paul McCartney announced new 2023 tour dates. The shows will happen next October, November and December in Australia and Brazil. It will be the first time he plays in those countries after the Pandemic. Named “Got Back”, the tour has 12 scheduled dates so far and he will perform in Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, Gold Coast, Brasília, São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Curitiba.

“I’ve got some good news. We’re coming back to Brazil in November to play for you. We have such great memories from all our visits. I love coming to Brazil because you guys like to rock, sing and party all at once. We’re really excited. Let’s have fun. Let’s rock. Let’s roll. Let’s stomp. Let’s stroll. And Brazil, let’s have a great time,” Paul McCartney said in his last statement.

His band continues the same with Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums).

“Paul has a strong relationship with Brazil – and a huge number of fans from the most diverse generations. In 2017, he was recognized as the best-selling international artist for performances in the country, with more than 1,5 million tickets sold.”

“But the great milestone of the eternal Beatle happened in 1990, when he performed in front of a crowded – and enchanted – Maracanã with 184,000 fans on the night of April 21, breaking at the time the world record for attendance at a concert. In 2023, McCartney will close the tour in December precisely by returning to “his sacred soil”, in the most iconic Brazilian soccer stadium. Magical place for sports lovers, like the artist,” the official statement recalled.

I don't need to say how amazing this man is and how happy I am to have attended this show. On "Live and let die" there was even pyrotechnics and fireworks. Paul was telling us stories, singing and joking, I think he switched more than 5 guitars during the show and the evening was just overall beautiful.

The venue was terrible, though.. There was no warning about not bringing the bags and we had to pay 15 Euros to leave the bag before getting in - backpacks were not allowed at all (so they basically forced us to give this money as it was too late to go back to hotel and leave it there). Also the security check was useless.. We were drinking in line to warm up and forgot about empty bottle in the pocket.. Guess what? We were able to bring a GLASS BOTTLE through security check, cause we didn't remember and they never checked.. What if I was a psycho? It's glass after all.

BEST CONCERT OF MY LIFE!! I can say Even one of the most incredible moments of my life. I know what it means being able to see the legend Sir Paul McCartney live and he fullfill all my expectations and way more! His band is absolutely amazing!

But let me tell you the highlight of my year:

I could only afford the cheapest level tickets but I was more than ok with that since i was going to see my idol, then on my way to our seats with my 2 girlfriends, an angel waiting at the top of the stairs ask us to see our tickets and then offer to change them, we were surprised and maybe thinking it was a scam but then she pulled her envelope with 3 FIRST ROW TICKETS!! Best seat in the arena, she identify herself as part of Sir Paul team, and after many thank yous and hugs we went to see the biggest concert.

Thats why he is the absolutely GREATEST rock star of this planet! Beacuse he truly cares about his audiences, i will never in my wildest dreams tought i was going to see able to be on the first row, besides the wonderful drama of the situation his performance was perfect, spotless, he is full of energy and will be forever grateful to him for such an amazing night.

Sir Paul McCartney concert in Munchen was fabulous (Fab four, Fab one :)). The Olympiastadion was full of happy delighted people who were lucky enough to get a ticket. There were Beatles fans along with Wings and Macca fans from many different countries, young and not so young people, all cheerfully singing the everlasting songs and dancing to our beloved music that defined the lives of many of us. The show went on for full 2 hours and 40 minutes, almost 40 songs from all periods, from late 50's to nowadays hits.

For me, it was a once in a lifetime event. I grew up with Beatles and Paul McCartney music, and I have been waiting for a long time for this. It's been a long time since I bought my first Beatles record, even long time since I bought my last one (not to mention I have all Beatles records plus many of their solo albums :)), and the possibility to see one of my heroes live in concert, it was just a dream come true.

It was worth every single penny spent on concert ticket, air ticket, airport transfers, accomodation for couple of days, and of course whole lotta german beer :)

Long live Sir Paul, long live Beatles, forever live their eternal music!

Paul McCartney Will Get Back to the Road on ‘Got Back’ Tour

By Jon Blistein

Jon Blistein

Paul McCartney will return to the road this year, announcing his 13-show Got Back tour, which will launch this spring.

The run will kick off April 28 at the Spokane Arena in Spokane, Washington, (his first-ever show in the city), and wrap June 16 at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey (his first time there since 2016). McCartney will also play Hollywood, Florida, Knoxville, Tennessee, and Winston-Salem, North Carolina, for the first time, while he’ll return to Fort Worth, Texas, and Baltimore for his first shows there since 1976 with Wings and 1964 with the Beatles, respectively.

The Got Back tour marks McCartney’s first full-fledged tour since his Freshen Up run, which wrapped in July 2019. While not on the road — understandably, because of the pandemic — McCartney has stayed busy with a variety of other projects, like releasing his latest solo album, McCartney III , in December 2020. Last year, he also starred alongside Rick Rubin in the Hulu docuseries McCartney 3, 2, 1 , and he was also involved as a producer on Peter Jackson’s Beatles doc, Get Back .

Call your parents, call your grandparents and get your phone ready. Music legend Paul McCartney is taking his iconic and beloved songs on tour around Australia later this year, playing a run of shows throughout October and November.

The “Got to Get Back” tour marks the former Beatle’s first run of Australian shows since 2017, where he only played shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. While the latter has been forgone on his 2023 tour, he’ll still be playing Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, adding Adelaide, Newcastle, and Gold Coast to his itinerary.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney said in a press statement.

The very best of The Latch delivered straight to your inbox.

“Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”

The “Got to Get Back” tour launched in February last year, with the 81-year-old taking on a huge run of shows throughout North America and Europe. He’ll be kicking off the Australian leg in Adelaide, a city that holds a special place in the history of The Beatles.

In 1964, the Beatles’ first touched down in Adelaide to kick off the Australian leg of the first-ever world tour. An estimated 350,000 people took to the streets between the airport and Town Hall just to get a peep at Paul, John, Ringo, and George. This marked the band’s only tour of Australia.

When Do Tickets Go on Sale for Paul McCartney’s 2023 Australian Tour? How Much Do They Cost?

In order to help with the clogging of ticketing sites like Ticketek and Ticketmaster, tickets for Paul McCartney’s 2023 tour will receive a staggered release. This means that tickets will be made available for each show at a different time.

There will be three pre-sales for the event — one for Telstra Plus members , another for Frontier members , and one via Paul McCartney’s own website . Frontier’s pre-sale will run for 48 hours, while the other two will run for 24 hours (or until each pre-sale’s allocation has been exhausted).

As far as price, continuing with trends we’ve seen in other tours, tickets to Paul McCartney won’t come cheap. Prices vary across the board, but can start as cheap as $79.90. There is a range of VIP packages available for each show, with the most expensive setting you back a colossal $2,375. That ticket includes front-two-row seating, being able to watch his soundcheck, and an array of other goodies and experiences.

Czech teen Noskova fends off Sun in Monterrey, claims first WTA title

Czech teenager Linda Noskova battled to the first WTA singles title of her career at the Abierto GNP Seguros in Monterrey, Mexico on Saturday.

2024 Monterrey: Scores | Order of Play | Draws

No.6 seed Noskova defeated New Zealand's Lulu Sun 7-6(6), 6-4 in the evening final at the WTA 500 event. After two previous runner-up showings on tour, the third time was the charm for 19-year-old Noskova.

"I've been waiting for a title or for a trophy for some time now, so it just feels amazing to win such a big tournament here this week," Noskova said, after her victory.

World No.35 Noskova needed 1 hour and 49 minutes to fend off 57th-ranked Sun. Noskova saved two set points in the first-set tiebreak on her way to taking the crown.

"We played some great tennis," said Noskova. "Her forehand was really killing, so I tried to stay off of it as much as possible. But it was tough at times, especially when I was 4-6 [down] in the tiebreak. I'm glad I managed to change that into my positive."

US Open 2024: Draws, dates, prize money and what you need to know

No.1 swiatek focused on the grind as us open campaign begins, american wild card kessler upsets top seed haddad maia to win cleveland.

Players on the rise: Both Noskova and Sun were seeking their first WTA title in the Saturday night showdown. Noskova was looking to reverse the results from her two prior finals, which she lost to Aryna Sabalenka at 2023 Adelaide and Nao Hibino at 2023 Prague.

By contrast, Sun had never advanced beyond a quarterfinal at tour-level until this week. However, the New Zealander did post a massive quarterfinal showing last month, reaching the Wimbledon elite eight as a qualifier.

Noskova also made her first Grand Slam quarterfinal this year, at the Australian Open, where she beat World No.1 Iga Swiatek en route. Noskova has been surging up the rankings since she won the 2022 Junior Roland Garros title.

Noskova and Sun faced off for the first time in the opening round of the Cincinnati Open two weeks ago, where Sun prevailed 6-4, 7-6(4). But this time around in Monterrey, Noskova flipped that scoreline and reigned supreme.

Good to see you @GarbiMuguruza ! 👋 #AbiertoGNPSeguros pic.twitter.com/rKqQrWOGsi — wta (@WTA) August 25, 2024

Match moments: Very little separated the finalists on Saturday as they inexorably moved into a first-set tiebreak. Sun had won all six of her previous tiebreaks on tour this season, and it looked like she would maintain that perfect record when she held double set point at 6-4.

But Noskova erased that pair of set points with a brilliant backhand down-the-line winner and a strong serve respectively. Another backhand winner from Noskova followed, giving the teenager her first set point.

There, Noskova forced an error with a big backhand return, winning her fourth straight point and earning a hard-fought one-set lead after 67 minutes.

Noskova notched the only break of the second set at 3-2, and she was untroubled on serve after that as she eased to victory. Noskova completed her victory with back-to-back aces, and the teen collapsed to her knees in excitement.

The doubles champs are crowned! 👑🏆 Hanyu Guo and Monica Niculescu secure the title in Monterrey! #AbiertoGNPSeguro pic.twitter.com/7DRjtHOGY7 — wta (@WTA) August 25, 2024

Down to the wire in doubles: Earlier on Saturday, Guo Hanyu of China and Monica Niculescu of Romania won the Abierto GNP Seguros doubles title, upsetting No.1 seeds Giuliana Olmos and Alexandra Panova 3-6, 6-3, [10-4] in the final.

Guo and Niculescu reeled off the last four points of the match-tiebreak, taking the win after 1 hour and 34 minutes of play. They denied the Mexican fans a home champion in Olmos.

This is Niculescu's 12th career WTA doubles title and second of the year, after winning 2024 Strasbourg with Cristina Bucsa. Guo has now won two WTA doubles titles, with her first coming last year at Guangzhou alongside Jiang Xinyu.

Paul will bring his acclaimed Got Back Tour to Australia this October/November!

Got Back starts with an intimate arena show in Adelaide, the city where The Beatles made history in 1964 on their first visit to Australia. An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets between the airport and Town Hall to catch a glimpse of the band. Paul will then travel to Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast performing in stadiums – with the shows in Newcastle and the Gold Coast being his first concerts there. These dates will see Paul return for his first live performances in Australia in six years. Paul was last in Australia in December 2017 (which saw him win a Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert in 2018), wowing audiences nationwide with a near three-hour show.

With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’,  ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

Paul launched the Got Back tour in February 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing what the British Times newspaper described as the “ best gig ever ” with his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022.

Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.
