Hints and tips for improving your chances of getting Paul McCartney tickets

Make sure you have a my ticketmaster account.

Get the basics covered before tickets go on sale by logging in and checking your Ticketmaster account ahead of time. If you don’t have a Ticketmaster Account then make sure you sign up in advance –  Ticketmaster.com.au .

Sign into your My Ticketmaster account ahead of time

Remember to triple check your passwords, account information, and billing information are all filled in correctly in advance, that way you’re not facing any last-minute account updates when trying to process your order.

Keep your options open with ‘Best Available’

Save time by searching “Best Available,” which scans all sections fast – it’s quicker than searching sections one at a time.

Keep an eye on the clock

There will be a time limit applied to all transactions as you are progressed through the ticket purchasing stages. Remember to keep an eye on the timer on your screen and move through the processing pages as quickly as possible (this is even easier when you’ve completed the account set-up stage we mentioned above).

Don’t refresh your screen

Stick to one window while you’re in the  Waiting Room  and when you’re being pushed through  the Smart Queue  and always resist the urge to refresh.

Hitting the refresh button means you’ll lose your place in the queue and, as frustrating as it can get, patience is the only way to win this game. Ticketmaster is equipped with sophisticated systems that are designed to manage and process ticket purchases as quickly as possible. The queuing system that appears on your screen will place you at the front of the line as soon as possible.

Remember: there are a lot of fans

We’re expecting this to be a very popular event. When a popular event goes on sale there are hundreds, and sometimes thousands, of customers all attempting to purchase tickets at the same time. Tickets are sold as long as seats are available, and when an act is this popular, sometimes they go very quickly.

Be sure to follow the above tips to ensure you have the best chance of snapping up some tickets.

Paul McCartney announces Australian tour, regional cities included in line-up

Paul McCartney plays the guitar on stage.

Legendary musician Paul McCartney has announced he will bring his Got Back tour to Australia this year, with two regional cities on the line-up.

Key points:

  • Sir Paul will play Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast
  • His US tour featured a catalogue of Beatles, Wings, and solo hits across nearly 3 hours
  • The show features a duet with the late John Lennon using modern technology

The English singer-songwriter who gained worldwide fame with The Beatles will hold shows in Newcastle and the Gold Coast for the first time.

The tour will kick off in Adelaide on October 18, the city where The Beatles made history in 1964 on their first visit to Australia .

An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets between the airport and Town Hall to catch a glimpse of the band.

Sir Paul will then travel to Melbourne for a show on October 21, Newcastle October 24, Sydney October 27, Brisbane November 1, and the Gold Coast on November 4.

This will be his first time in Australia since his award-winning tour in 2017 .

Regional cities on the line-up

The tour will include first visits to Newcastle and Gold Coast.

Frontier Touring CEO Dion Brant said Sir Paul wanted "at least a few places different" to his 2017 tour.

" We saw when Elton [John] came just how Newcastle embraced the show and embraced Elton and his team," he said.

"We were super excited to suggest the [regional locations] to Paul and we're really excited that he's agreed to do it."

Paul McCarthy live in Glastonbury, with John Lennon behind him.

Mr Brant said the company had been wanting to get Sir Paul back after his visit six years ago.

"People were blown away and there was so much regret from people who didn't go, back in 2017," he said.

"To be honest, we started conversations then about coming back the following summer … and then Paul got quite busy.

"And you know, it's Paul McCartney … so you take the time frame you can get."

What can the audience expect?

Mr Brant said fans can expect a jam-packed show.

"In the US last year he was playing for just under three hours, plays dozens of songs, and the set lists are all over the internet. But it's hit after hit after hit," he said.

"I think that the interesting thing with Paul is he's got such a deep catalogue of Beatles songs, Wings songs, and solo hits, that you know it's impossible to fit them all in.

"But he has a fair go for somebody his age."

The show features a duet with the late John Lennon using modern technology.

Mr Brant said tickets start around $80, up to around $400.

VIP packages will also be available.

Paul McCartney – Got Back tour (2022)

Here’s the press release:

Paul McCartney brings his phenomenal Got Back tour to Australia this October/November! 1 Aug 2023 “I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years. Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.” Paul McCartney will bring his acclaimed Got Back Tour to Australia this October/November! Got Back starts with an intimate arena show in Adelaide, the city where The Beatles made history in 1964 on their first visit to Australia. An estimated 350,000 people lined the streets between the airport and Town Hall to catch a glimpse of the band. Paul will then travel to Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane, and the Gold Coast performing in stadiums – with the shows in Newcastle and the Gold Coast being his first concerts there. These dates will see McCartney return for his first live performances in Australia in six years. McCartney was last in Australia in December 2017 (which saw him win a Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert in 2018 beating the likes of Ed Sheeran), wowing audiences nationwide with a near three-hour show, the Sydney Morning Herald reporting, “If the greatest songs elicit an emotional response too powerful to properly explain, it’s safe to say no review of Paul McCartney’s tour will quite do it justice.” Tickets go on sale Friday 11 August via frontiertouring.com/paulmccartney. The Frontier Members Presale starts Wednesday 9 August (times staggered – see website for details). In 2017, speaking backstage at Paul’s sell-out show in Sydney, Kylie Minogue said: “Having Paul, Sir Paul, in Australia is incredible. All of Australia wants to see him; half of them can’t get a ticket! The chance for Australians to see Paul on stage singing songs that they know and love and mean so much to them is a beautiful thing and I hope he feels all the love.” Irrefutably one of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney is behind the most beloved catalogue in music. With songs like ‘Hey Jude’ , ‘Live and Let Die’ , ‘Band on the Run’ , ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives. McCartney launched the Got Back tour in February 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before performing what the British Times newspaper described as the “best gig ever” with his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022. Fans and critics who attended the Got Back dates were unanimous in their praise: ‘The planet’s greatest living songwriter … When he’s leading a stadium packed with 70,000 fans singing along, it’s hard not to be stunned by the recognition of everything McCartney achieved’ – ★★★★★ The Independent ‘McCartney and his tightly drilled combo just kept knocking them out for three solid gold hours, one absolutely storming classic after another, sending waves of excitement up the packed hillside, and turning the biggest crowd of the 2022 Glastonbury festival into the world’s biggest choir. I mean, really, you haven’t heard a singalong until you’ve heard 200,000 voices doing the na na nas on ‘Hey Jude” – ★★★★★ Daily Telegraph ‘As much as McCartney made history with the Beatles, he’s making history again… Being on stage in front of 60,000 people being able to bellow songs that you wrote 60 years prior is not something that God wrote into the human contract, but McCartney is out to prove nature and the Almighty wrong’ – Variety ‘A masterclass from the greatest living cultural figure – a true privilege to behold’ ★★★★★ The i Newspaper Paul and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations worldwide. From outside the Colosseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House and a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people. To the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966 , a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival, a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, two Glastonbury Festival headline slots and even one performance broadcast live into Space! Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums) – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing. Make no mistake – this is a once in a lifetime event. Paul McCartney’s Got Back Australian Tour is not to be missed! Act quickly to secure your tickets.

McCartney’s return to Australia comes after his lauded 2017 tour, which won the prestigious Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert in 2018 and had The Music ’s Bryget Chrisfield in awe, writing about Macca’s Melbourne gig at AAMI Park , “Many dreams come true this evening as families unite to celebrate one of the all-time greats. We laugh, we cry, and somehow feel there's still some hope left for our doomed planet.”

Brought to our shores by Frontier Touring , the Members’ pre-sale begins on Wednesday, 9 August, with staggered times, which you can find on the Frontier Touring website .

Glastonbury Festival 2022 - Day Four

Sir Paul Mccartney is returning to Australia for a tour later this year.

For the first time since 2017, Sir Paul, 81, will put on six shows Down Under in October and November from Sydney to Adelaide.

The Beatles legend took to social media to reveal the news to his fans with a video announcement on YouTube .

‘Hey, G’day Australia. Paul McCartney here, I’m coming down to see you in October with my Got Back tour,’ he said.

The star said he was ‘very excited to come down and see all you Aussies’ and promised fans that they’re set to ‘have a great time, it’s going to be really special and we’re going to rock.’

‘I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,’ Sir Paul said in a statement via Billboard .

Glastonbury Festival Day Four

‘Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.’

Despite being in his 80s, the music superstar has proven time and time again that he’s still got it, with no signs of slowing down.

With lengthy shows such as his headline Glastonbury set in 2022 , which lasted almost three hours, his time on stage certainly isn’t over yet.

Joining Sir Paul on the road is his longtime band, Paul ‘Wix’ Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums).

The announcement comes just days after the star hinted on his Twitter that an international tour is on the cards.

Buzz started that Sir Paul would be venturing to the land down under when Australian tour company Frontier teased with pictures on its socials of billboards using McCartney’s branding and song titles.

If you want to bag yourself a set of tickets, pre-sale goes live Wednesday, August 9 with general sale going public on Friday, August 11 on Frontier Touring .

It’ll be the singer’s first time back on stage since his Glasto set in 2022. He was last on tour in Oz in 2017, having previously put on shows in 1964 with The Beatles, then later in 1975 and 1993 with Wings.

Sir Paul McCartney's Australia tour dates

The dates for his down under Got Back shows are:

October 18 – Adelaide – Entertainment Centre

October 21 – Melbourne – Marvel Stadium

October 24 – Newcastle – McDonald Jones

October 27 – Sydney – Allianz Stadium

November 01 – Brisbane – Suncorp Stadium

November 11 – Gold Coast – Heritage Bank Stadium

Call your parents, call your grandparents and get your phone ready. Music legend Paul McCartney is taking his iconic and beloved songs on tour around Australia later this year, playing a run of shows throughout October and November.

The “Got to Get Back” tour marks the former Beatle’s first run of Australian shows since 2017, where he only played shows in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, and Perth. While the latter has been forgone on his 2023 tour, he’ll still be playing Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane, adding Adelaide, Newcastle, and Gold Coast to his itinerary.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney said in a press statement.

The very best of The Latch delivered straight to your inbox.

“Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”

The “Got to Get Back” tour launched in February last year, with the 81-year-old taking on a huge run of shows throughout North America and Europe. He’ll be kicking off the Australian leg in Adelaide, a city that holds a special place in the history of The Beatles.

In 1964, the Beatles’ first touched down in Adelaide to kick off the Australian leg of the first-ever world tour. An estimated 350,000 people took to the streets between the airport and Town Hall just to get a peep at Paul, John, Ringo, and George. This marked the band’s only tour of Australia.

When Do Tickets Go on Sale for Paul McCartney’s 2023 Australian Tour? How Much Do They Cost?

In order to help with the clogging of ticketing sites like Ticketek and Ticketmaster, tickets for Paul McCartney’s 2023 tour will receive a staggered release. This means that tickets will be made available for each show at a different time.

There will be three pre-sales for the event — one for Telstra Plus members , another for Frontier members , and one via Paul McCartney’s own website . Frontier’s pre-sale will run for 48 hours, while the other two will run for 24 hours (or until each pre-sale’s allocation has been exhausted).

As far as price, continuing with trends we’ve seen in other tours, tickets to Paul McCartney won’t come cheap. Prices vary across the board, but can start as cheap as $79.90. There is a range of VIP packages available for each show, with the most expensive setting you back a colossal $2,375. That ticket includes front-two-row seating, being able to watch his soundcheck, and an array of other goodies and experiences.

Paul McCartney announces 2023 Australian tour dates

Got Back Tour hits Down Under this fall

Paul McCartney has announced his first Australian tour dates since 2017 as the Got Back Tour hits Down Under this fall. Six dates are schedule for Adelaide, Melbourne, Newcastle, Sydney, Brisbane and Gold Coast for October and November.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney shares. “Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”

McCartney was last in Australia in December 2017 — which saw him win a Helpmann Award for Best International Contemporary Concert in 2018 beating the likes of Ed Sheeran — wowing audiences nationwide with a near three hour show.

Tickets go on sale Friday August 11th via frontiertouring.com/paulmccartney . The Frontier Members presale starts Wednesday, August 9th.

Irrefutably one of the most successful singer-songwriters and performers of all time, McCartney is behind the most beloved catalogue in music. With songs like ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Live and Let Die’, ‘Band on the Run’, ‘Let It Be’ and so many more, the Paul McCartney live experience is everything any music lover could ever want from a rock show: hours of the greatest moments from the last 60 years of music – dozens of songs from Paul’s solo, Wings and of course Beatles catalogues that have formed the soundtracks of our lives.

McCartney launched the Got Back Tour in February 2022, completing 16 huge shows across the US before before performing his history-making set at Glastonbury in June 2022.

McCartney and his band have performed in an unparalleled range of venues and locations worldwide. From outside the Colosseum in Rome, Moscow’s Red Square, Buckingham Palace, The White House and a free show in Mexico for over 400,000 people. To the last ever show at San Francisco’s Candlestick Park where The Beatles played their final concert in 1966, a 2016 week in the California desert that included two headline sets at the historic Desert Trip festival, a jam-packed club gig for a few hundred lucky fans at Pappy & Harriet’s Pioneertown Palace, two Glastonbury Festival headline slots and even one performance broadcast live into Space!

Featuring Paul’s longtime band – Paul “Wix” Wickens on keyboards, Brian Ray on bass and guitar, Rusty Anderson on guitar and Abe Laboriel Jr. on drums – and constantly upgraded state of the art audio and video technology that ensures an unforgettable experience from every seat in the house, a Paul McCartney concert is never anything short of life-changing.

It's time to get back to where we once belonged. The GOT BACK tour returns this year, starting with a 6-show run in Australia! 🇦🇺 https://t.co/KhK4WK8Wlr #PaulMcCartneyGotBack pic.twitter.com/5o6U1lDjyH — Paul McCartney (@PaulMcCartney) July 31, 2023

Paul McCartney

Paul McCartney has his sights set on a return to Australia, for his first tour there in six years.

The evergreen octogenarian had promised “news coming soon” on his socials , and he delivers with the announcement of a new, Australian swing to his Got Back Tour , which will play two markets for the first time – the satellite cities of Newcastle (north of Sydney) and Gold Coast (south of Brisbane).

The two-time Rock And Roll Hall of Famer will embark on his run with an “intimate” date at Adelaide Entertainment Centre, Oct. 18, the only arena show on the itinerary. When McCartney and the Beatles played the South Australia capital in 1964, at the very peak of their powers, an estimated 350,000 people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of the Fab Four. That’s roughly one-third the city’s current population.

The six-city stretch includes outdoor dates in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane. Perth misses out.

“I’ve got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years,” McCartney comments in a statement, confirming the Australia leg. “Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party so we know this is going to be incredibly special. Australia we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”

Those memories and parties coalesced into a tour for the ages. Macca’s five-city One On One Tour won the Helpmann for best international contemporary concert in 2018, awarded by Live Performance Australia, and was declared a career highlight by legendary promoter Michael Gudinski, the late founder of Frontier Touring.

Joining McCartney on the road is his longtime band, Paul “Wix” Wickens (keyboards), Brian Ray (bass/guitar), Rusty Anderson (guitar) and Abe Laboriel Jr (drums).

Following the release of Peter Jackson’s three-part 2021 documentary series The Beatles: Get Back , McCartney embarked on a 16-date U.S. run on his Got Back Tour , which last year nudged his total career gross north of the $1 billion mark , making him one of just 11 artists to surpass the 10-digit mark in Boxscore’s 30-year-plus history.

Paul McCartney released 18 solo studio albums during his long and successful career. Paul McCartney always continues touring worldwide after the band’s split.

McCartney’s upcoming Australian tour in 2023 promises to be an incredible musical trip through the eras. McCartney’s set list will undoubtedly include a selection of his best hits from The Beatles and his distinguished solo career. Songs such as “Hey Jude,” “Let It Be,” “Live and Let Die,” “Band on the Run,” and “Maybe I’m Amazed” are likely to be performed on this tour.

Beyond the music, Paul McCartney’s Australian Tour 2023 has sentimental meaning. For many fans, attending this event is more than simply seeing a musical icon; it’s an emotional voyage back in time. The memories associated with The Beatles’ songs frequently elicit nostalgia, reminding fans of their childhood, first loves, and life-changing events.

“At least a few places different.  We saw when Elton John came just how Newcastle embraced the show and embraced Elton and his team. We were super excited to suggest the to Paul [McCartney] and we are really excited that he’s agreed to do it.

People were blown away and there was so much regret from people who didn’t go, back in 2017. To be honest, we started conversations then about coming back the following summer… And then Paul got quite busy. And you know, it’s Paul McCartney … So you take the time frame you can get.”

Paul McCartney also shared a statement about the 2023 Australia tour:

“I have got so many amazing memories of my time in Australia over the years. Our last trip was so much fun. We had such an incredible time. Each show was a party, so we know this is going to be incredibly special.

Australia, we are going to rock! I can’t wait to see you.”

  • Depeche Mode

Aussie Depeche Mode fans are an incredibly patient bunch. The last time the British synth-pop titans toured the country was in 1994, meaning nearly three decades have passed since they last paid us a visit. But good things come to those who wait, and it seems there is a glimmer of hope for those hoping to catch the band Down Under.

In March 2023, Depeche Mode’s Dave Gahan told an Italian blog that the band were eyeing “as-yet-unannounced dates in Asia and Australia” as part of a touring run that would lead into 2024. The band have toured the world in support of their latest album, ‘Memento Mori’ , and a trip to Australia to cap off the jaunt seems more likely than ever.

Paul McCartney's Iconic Tour Bus To Go Up For Auction, Expected To Sell For Over $200,000

  • Paul McCartney is auctioning off his iconic Wings tour bus from 1972, expected to sell for over $200k.
  • The tour bus was a family affair, with Paul, Linda, and their three kids traveling together during the tour.
  • Paul McCartney's band Wings was a pivotal moment in his career post-The Beatles, but his family was always his priority.

A lucky fan might get the chance to buy a piece of music history. Paul McCartney has decided to put one of his tour buses up for auction, and it's a very special one. While obviously his most famous band is The Beatles , just years after they broke up, he and Linda McCartney put together another hugely successful group: Paul McCartney & Wings . This band was one of the most important groups of the '70s and meant a lot to his solo career.

Paul McCartney Reveals How He Almost Changed The Words One Of 'The Beatles' Most Iconic Song

Now, he's parting ways with the psychedelic tour bus that took his band and his family all over Europe during their first big tour in 1972. The auction of the iconic bus is expected to sell for a staggering amount of money. The auction starts in just five days.

Paul McCartney's Iconic Wings Tour Bus Expected To Sell For Over $200 Thousand

From April 22 to 29, the double-decker tour bus that took Paul McCartney's band Wings all over Europe in 1972 will be up for auction and is expected to reach between £150,000 and £200,000 , with the higher end being almost $250 thousand .

The bus has been kept in almost perfect period condition, and pre-bids are already open for eager fans who want to get ahead. The double-decker has been restored, with the art on it, a clear homage to the iconic Yellow Submarine aesthetic, looking as impeccable as it did back in 1972 .

This tour was a very important one for Paul McCartney, as it was the first big tour of his new band after the painfully public breakup of The Beatles . The band had been working hard for a year prior, establishing themselves playing small shows at English universities, but this was the first time they would be playing big venues, something McCartney hadn't done since The Beatles stopped touring back in 1966.

He had put out a couple of solo albums before Wings , which he wrote with his wife Linda McCartney, and since he wanted her to play with him on Wings as well, he taught her to play piano and asked her to join his new band.

The McCartney Family Lived On That Bus During The Tour

A very well-known fact about Paul and Linda McCartney is that, during their marriage, they never spent a night apart from each other ( except when Paul was arrested in Japan, but that's another story ). The couple were very family-oriented, and while they loved making music together, their children always took priority.

So, in 1972, despite only going on tour for a month and a half, they made sure the tour bus was kid-friendly, as they took their three daughters, Heather, Mary, and Stella McCartney with them, something they repeated on every tour while the kids were little .

Paul McCartney's Son James Louis Is Also A Musician, But Has Different Views When It Comes To His Personal Life

"Our main reason was, we worried about leaving the kids at home and then getting a nanny or somebody ringing up saying 'oh they’ve gone into hospital' or 'they’re very ill', and we’d be far away in Australia or something," Paul McCartney explained.

Bringing them on tour didn't mean they were neglectful, though. "When we decided to bring them along we tried to be very careful about the sensible stuff like their education. We did things like going to their school and asking the teachers what the class are going to be doing while we’re away, and then we had a tutor that came with us - the kids hated him! They did not like being told in the afternoon that it was 'school time!'. They’d protest: 'No, we wanna go to the beach!'" the Beatle recalled amused .

Paul McCartney and his kids now look back to that time fondly and have no regrets about sharing touring as a family.
