Pga tour 2k23 pro list revealed by 2k, new michael jordan bonus pack.

The PGA Tour 2K23 pro list that will be available at launch has finally been announced by 2K Games! Legends of the PGA Tour circuit and famed international stars are joining the stacked, heavily anticipated franchise.

Each pro possesses “true-to-life” design in their attire and gear, and a “unique” attribute set according to their real-life skills.

Fans who preorder the game will also receive NBA legend Michael Jordan as a playable pro. The Standard Edition, Tiger Woods Edition (digital only) and the Deluxe Edition of PGA Tour 2K23 include the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack when preordered before October 14.

Players who wish to not preorder the game can purchase the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack post-launch. The bonus pack includes four sleeves of consumable Common golf balls.

Players can step into the tee box as one of the pros in Exhibition, Multiplayer and Divot Derby play, or go head-to-head with them in a battle to climb the leaderboard and claim the FedExCup in PGA TOUR MyCAREER mode.

The Deluxe Edition and the Tiger Woods edition of PGA Tour 2K23 will come out first on October 11. The Standard Edition comes out later on October 14.

PGA TOUR 2K23 features several new additions and improvements sure to delight franchise veterans, dedicated PGA TOUR fans and casual golfers alike:

• Control the Pros – Woods leads a roster of more than 14 male and female playable pros at launch*, including Justin Thomas, Xander Schauffele, Lexi Thompson, Tony Finau, Lydia Ko, Collin Morikawa, Will Zalatoris, Brooke Henderson, Jon Rahm, Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, and more. Players can step into the tee box as one of the pros in Exhibition, multiplayer and Divot Derby play, or go head-to-head with them in PGA TOUR MyCAREER mode. In addition to the pros, the broadcast-style presentation and commentary team also return, with the addition of English golf pro and broadcaster Henni Koyack.
• Earn PGA TOUR Pro Status – A spot atop the leaderboard awaits amateurs and pros alike in MyCAREER. Players can create a custom MyPLAYER, start out in Q-School, earn a spot on the Korn Ferry Tour and work their way up to PGA TOUR pro status, taking on the roster of pros on some of the most challenging and popular courses in pursuit of FedExCup glory. There’s also the option to skip right to PGA TOUR pro status.
• Celebrity Shot! – NBA icons and avid golf aficionados Michael Jordan and Steph Curry are available at launch to bring their skills from the hardwood to the fairway. Jordan is available as part of the Michael Jordan Bonus Pack, while Curry is available as free bonus content for all players on all platforms**.
• Tee Off with Topgolf Mode – The introduction of Topgolf Mode offers a unique single or multiplayer party experience emulating the popular golf entertainment phenomenon, where players can aim for targets and try to earn the highest score.
• Play Your Way – MyPLAYER customization is deeper than ever, with new player archetypes and skill trees. Players choose the style that works best for them, from a long-driving power hitter to a short game expert. Custom club fitting allows a further degree of personalization, allowing for unique but balanced combinations of club attributes. • Train for the TOUR – Training mode offers multiple ways to develop skills, including swing calibration, lessons, chipping practice, a driving range and a putting green. • Have a Tee Party – Online multiplayer features also return for PGA TOUR 2K23 ***** . Online Societies encourage players to compete with friends for custom tournaments and full seasons, with unique rules and entry stipulations.

PGA Tour 2K23 Adds Michael Jordan As Playable Preorder Bonus Character

2K Sports has announced that basketball legend Michael Jordan is joining PGA Tour 2K23 as a playable golfer via a preorder bonus.

The Michael Jordan Bonus Pack is available to those who put their cash down early for the upcoming Tiger Woods-fronted title, and aside from Jordan himself as a golfer, will include four common golfball sleeves.

How to play as Michael Jordan in PGA Tour 2K23

Michael Jordan is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time. Off the court, though, Jordan was known to be a solid scratch golfer. Considering that, 2K decided to use its relationship with MJ and add #23 to PGA Tour 2K23. Much like the other pro golfers in 2K23, users will have the option to use Michael Jordan in the game. So, how can you use MJ in 2K23? Let’s take a look.

Much like Tiger Woods  and the  other PGA golfers  in PGA Tour 2K23, users will be able to play as Tiger Woods in both the Local Match and Online Match modes. Michael Jordan can’t be used in 2K23’s MyCareer mode.

For either Local or Online Matches, go to the main menu. Then, select ‘Casual,’ followed by either ‘Local Match’ or ‘Online Match.’ This will depend if you want to play a single-player (Local) or multiplayer (Online) game.

From there, hover over to the left-hand side of the screen. Right above your player’s avatar should be two tabs, one with your ID name and the other that reads ‘Change Golfer.’ Select ‘Change Golfer,’ and then select Michael Jordan.

Unlike Tiger Woods , Michael Jordan’s stats — particularly on the green — in PGA Tour 2K23 leave a bit to be desired. Then again, Jordan never played on the Tour, so that should be expected. Here’s a look at the stats for Michael Jordan in PGA Tour 2K23:

While you’ve been striping drives and sinking putts in PGA TOUR 2K21, we’ve been hard at work building on the features you’ve come to love and expanding them with more options to explore. Before you can officially hit the links in PGA TOUR 2K23 when it launches for Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and Steam on October 14, we want to give you the tools you’ll need ahead of time, so you can compete at the highest level when you step on the tee box. Here's everything you need to know about the new controls, all-new first-time playable pros, breathtaking courses, and a plethora of features you’ll find in the most authentic golf simulation game to date.

ANALOG SWING

Crushing a drive off the tee box always starts with a confident approach. Before you even grip the club, you need to feel comfortable with your setup, which is why we’re giving you the option to choose between the standard analog swing stick swing and the new 3-Click swing in PGA TOUR 2K23.

If you’re looking for a swing that mirrors a traditional real-life golf movement, the analog swing stick swing should be a good fit for you. To begin the motion, pull straight back on the analog stick and time your push forward as the power meter reaches the sweet spot for a silky smooth shot laced down the fairway.

Tempo and timing are crucial with your windup; swinging too quickly will hook your shot and being too slow will cause a slice. A seamless, fluid follow-through will produce quality shots—and a rush of excitement. Many players will feel right at home with this classic swing technique and will become fairway finders in no time.

3-CLICK SWING

Making its debut in the PGA TOUR 2K franchise, the 3-Click swing requires you to hold and release the A/X button (depending on your platform of choice) for power, and tap it twice to line up your swing path and club face angle. It’s as simple as one, two, three.

The presentation differs from the traditional 3-Click swing mechanic you might've seen in past golf games: you’ll see a circular power meter displayed as you take your stance, rather than a horizontal bar. Regardless of whether you’re hitting a normal iron shot, pitching, or chipping, the meter shape won’t change.

To start your shot, hold down the button to the desired power and time your release as it nears the power circle; exceeding the recommended range will result in an overpowered shot or vice versa. After you release, a green dot will start moving counterclockwise at the bottom of the circle, quickly tap the button at the top of the circle to determine your swing path. Tapping the button a second time as it reaches the bottom hash mark will determine an open or closed club face.

At any time, you can change the difficulty settings, but it will tweak the swing speed of the meter—unlike the Analog Stick. Experiment with the Analog Stick and 3-Click swings to find which works best for you in PGA TOUR 2K23.

PLAY AS THE PROS

PGA TOUR 2K23 is the only place you can play as, or against, Tiger Woods, Justin Thomas, Collin Morikawa, Lexi Thompson and more. The 11-time PGA TOUR Player of the Year leads a diverse group of talented, playable pros you can swing with in-game. In year’s past, you’d only be able to compete against the pros, but for the first time in the PGA TOUR 2K franchise you can take control of golf’s biggest names.

As if having one of the greatest athletes of all-time isn’t enough, we’re including another one as a playable celebrity pro: Michael Jordan. Drain long range, high arcing shots with one of the NBA’s greatest scorers around the green and from the fairway. Jordan is just one of the many of the playable celebrities in PGA TOUR 2K23, but you’ll have to wait for the rest.

PGA TOUR 2K23 boasts a vast collection of licensed courses that have played host to some of the game’s most memorable moments, and now it’s time to leave your mark in history. Experience the pageantry and challenge that comes with playing at world-renowned locations.

You’ll find 20 licensed courses in-game at launch, including new additions Wilmington Country Club, The Renaissance Club, St. George’s Golf and Country Club, and more. Keep an eye out for a full reveal of all the courses coming in PGA TOUR 2K23.

With each tournament, you’ll be put to the test against the best talent on the planet, competing for FedExCup points and a shot at first place in the standings. Using your MyPLAYER creation, write your legacy by hitting clutch shots and become one of the game’s legendary players. Combat the elements and your peers as you strive to etch your name on numerous trophies, culminating in a shot at the prestigious THE PLAYERS Championship.

PLAY GOLF LIKE NEVER BEFORE

PGA TOUR 2K23 offers a variety of game modes and formats for your enjoyment. In our last game, multiplayer featured the always chaotic Divot Derby, where players raced from the tee box to the pin as fast as they could to be dubbed victorious, along with Online Societies where you could challenge fellow players around the world in one- to four-day tournaments. These popular formats are making their return in PGA TOUR 2K23, along with traditional Stroke and Match Play—but we’re excited to welcome Topgolf into the fold.

Best enjoyed with friends and family, this real-life entertainment venue is now part of PGA TOUR 2K23, where good times and laughs can be had locally or online. Step onto one of the many hitting bays solo or with up to three other players, and paint the glistening skyline with a barrage of white golf balls. Take turns hitting 10 balls each and try racking up points by aiming for the assortment of colorful circular and square targets. The player with the most points at the end of the round will be crowned victorious.

SHARE YOUR COURSE CREATIVITY

Let your imagination run free with the PGA TOUR 2K23 Course Designer. There’s already an expansive library of licensed courses in-game, but why not add your own to the mix?

Fact or Fiction: Scottie Scheffler Is the PGA Tour Player of the Year Already

SI Golf’s writers and editors debate the historic runs of Scheffler and Nelly Korda, plus the return of LIV Golf.

Welcome back to SI Golf’s Fact or Fiction, where we’re not crazy to be entertaining Grand Slam odds for Scottie, and even wondering what they might be for Nelly. 

Once again, we’re here to debate a series of statements for writers and editors to declare as “Fact” or “Fiction” along with a brief explanation. Responses may also (occasionally) be “Neutral” since there's a lot of gray area in golf.

Scottie Scheffler won Monday at the RBC Heritage, dominating and completely brushing off any post-Masters hangover . Bernhard Langer was the last to win the week after a Masters title—in 1985. If the major was his best win of the season, Hilton Head was his second-best. 

Bob Harig: FACT. Winning the Players Championship will get some attention but a victory a week after capturing the Masters is above and beyond. It’s simply too difficult to come back a few days later and compete at the level needed to maintain what went so well at Augusta National. Not to mention … Harbour Town is such a different test of golf than Augusta National. That Scheffler was able to quickly adapt and keep it going is impressive.

John Pluym: FACT. Check out these two stats: In the last 20 years, only Tiger Woods averaged a tournament finish position in the top 10 after winning the Masters in 2002. And the record for most tournament victories after winning at Augusta in the same year is three, and Woods did it twice (2002, ’05), and Jordan Spieth did it in 2015. So, yes, Scheffler winning the RBC Heritage the week after the Masters is no ordinary feat. In fact, it’s actually quite extraordinary when you consider the stats above. 

Jeff Ritter: FACT: Scottie is on fire, and going right out and winning a week after the Masters is further proof that he’s on another level right now. The PGA Championship can’t get here fast enough. 

John Schwarb: FICTION. Becoming the first back-to-back Players champ, against the Tour’s deepest field on its flagship course, has to rank second in this run. But as Bob wrote Monday, not mailing it in at Harbour Town is still remarkable. Scottie is wired differently. 

Scheffler’s wife Meredith is due at the end of the month with the couple’s first child. The world No. 1 could take the rest of the year off as a new father and still win PGA Tour Player of the Year. 

Bob Harig: FACT.  Scheffler has won a major, the PGA Tour’s flagship event and two signature events. Nobody else on the PGA Tour has more than one victory at this point. Take Hideki Matsuyama, for example. He won the Genesis, a signature event. He’d need to add a major plus one of the remaining signature events (Wells Fargo, Memorial, Travelers) and ONE more win just to match Scheffler. And what win would be on the same level as the Players? So that suggests another signature event or a FedEx Cup playoff win. It’s possible someone wins a major and the FedEx Cup and gets consideration but it is difficult to see that at this point.

John Pluym: FACT. The only golfer on a hotter streak than Scheffler is Nelly Korda, and she plays on the LPGA Tour. I don’t see any golfer on the PGA Tour playing consistently well enough to overtake Scheffler for POY if Scheffler decided to pack it in for the rest of the season. Rory? Xander? Wyndham? Max? Tommy? Collin? It’s not even close right now.  

Jeff Ritter: FICTION. Scottie’s resume would be impressive, but the news cycle moves fast! Someone else—maybe Wyndham Clark, or Rory or Morikawa, for example—could snag one of the summer’s majors and cap the season with a FedEx Cup title just before voters go to the polls for POY. 

John Schwarb: FACT. Taking POY from Scheffler right now would likely require a half-dozen wins with two majors. Tough to see who’s doing that given the lackluster seasons by so many Tour “stars.” 

Nelly Korda won her fifth consecutive start at the Chevron Championship (for her second career major), tying five-win streaks by Nancy Lopez and Annika Sorenstam. Hers is the most impressive.   

Bob Harig: FICTION. This is not to diminish Korda’s accomplishment, which is incredible. We are comparing remarkable achievements. But her winning early in the year, and then not playing for seven weeks, makes it harder to equate it to what Lopez and Sorenstam did. But we’re splitting hairs. Winning five tournaments—at all—is amazing.

John Pluym: FICTION. Here’s the thing: Is the LPGA Tour field better than when Lopez and Sorenstam were dominating? No. So, for now, the streak is impressive but let’s see if she can win a couple more in a row.

Jeff Ritter: FACT. Today’s LPGA draws from a worldwide pool of the best players the world has ever known. It’s a much more global tour than in the days of Lopez, and even Annika. It’s tough to win, even if Nelly is currently making it look easy. 

John Schwarb: FICTION. Sorenstam’s five, like Korda’s, was capped with a win at the Kraft Nabisco Championship (now Chevron). But she won that by eight shots, one of many tournaments in which she was the best by a wide margin. 

LIV Golf returns this week with a two-week swing through Australia and Singapore. Jon Rahm will get his first win at one of the two stops.     

Bob Harig: FACT. Rahm had a bad Masters but that happened to a lot of players. He started strong at LIV with a couple of early close calls and he’s too good to let this linger for long. Either place seems a good spot to get the first win and some momentum heading into the PGA Championship.

John Pluym: FICTION. It might take a pair of low-pressure stops for Rahm to win after the defending Masters champion stunk it up during the first major of the year. And he looks like a guy who is enjoying a $450 million payday and has settled into playing 54-hole tournaments. 

Jeff Ritter: FICTION. Rahm appeared lost and ticked off leaving Augusta. But is he just going to throw the switch on his golf game? I’d expect him to win somewhere on LIV this year, but I’m skeptical that it’s coming soon. He has some work to do. 

John Schwarb: FACT. As great as it is to return to the Masters as the defending champion, there was a lot more baked into it for Rahm as a LIV guy and it didn’t appear easy on or off the course. He can exhale with that behind him and these are a pair of low-pressure stops for the Spaniard to get a W.
