Best Prague Tour Packages in 2024

Prague: the artistic capital of czech republic.

Prague or the City of a Hundred Spires is the largest city and capital of the Czech Republic. The Vltava River runs down the middle of this marvellous city that is perfect for short holidays. If you have always wanted to take a trip to a historical town with Gothic masterpieces, then booking one of the Prague tour packages would make your dream come true. This will let you voyage through the city immersed in the colourful antique beauty contrasted with the touches of modernity.

Moreover, the Old Town is where the magic lies. The architecture of the city is a highlight in several Prague and Budapest tour packages. Also, the best part of this European city is its affordability. Another fantastic sight to see in Prague is the numerous bridges on the Vltava River. Notably, Charles Bridge is one of the oldest in Europe as it dates back to 1352. Even the bridges have elaborate decorations, which is fitting for an aesthetically pleasing city like Prague. Remember, choosing one of the comprehensive Prague tour packages lets you taste a bit of everything.

Prague Tourism: Best Time to Visit

The recommended time for visiting the city is during spring and early autumn. Apart from the mild weather, this is also when there are fewer tourists. So, you would be able to admire most spots without needing to move through a wave of people, making Prague tour packages bang for the buck. However, most people prefer to visit Prague during the summer months for the warm weather.

Prague Visa for Indians

To visit Prague, Indians need to apply for a Schengen visa. Also, a person would need to pass an interview to get the visa to avail one of the Prague tour packages or Prague holiday packages from India.

Prague Tourism: Best Places to Visit

While picking amongst Prague tour packages, make sure to add these destinations to make your trip to the city worth remembering.

  • Old Town Square : When you are in Prague, Old Town Square allows you to experience the city's heart. It offers opportunities to witness different architectural styles like Romanesque, Baroque, Gothic, Rococo, and Renaissance. The Tyn Cathedral is a frequently visited spot of this area and part of most Prague tour packages. At the centre lies the statue of Jan Hus, the revered church reformer and martyr. Also, don't forget to stop by the astronomical clock to see it strike an hour.
  • St. Vitus Cathedral: Prague Castle is like a real-life version of buildings usually seen in Disney movies. It has the world's biggest castle complex and is hard to believe that it was once just a wooden fortress. However, the most striking architectural marvel lies inside the complex in the form of St. Vitus Cathedral. This 14th-century Gothic structure is splendid. On stepping inside, you will find burial places of Czech rulers along with ornate work all over the walls. So, look for those Neo-Gothic bits on your trip through Prague tour packages.
  • Old New Synagogue : This mysterious building lies in Josefov, the former Jewish Quarter of Prague. This is one of the oldest active synagogues in Europe and one of the first Gothic buildings of the city. This building also houses Prague’s Golem, which is a crucial part of Jewish folklore. In Yiddish, this synagogue is referred to as the Altneuschul. Most Prague tour packages have it as a key sightseeing point.
  • Spanish Synagogue: This building is regarded as one of the greatest instances of Moorish Revival style. The gold details on its insides give it a royal look. However, the beauty of its art lies in the intricate stained glass windows. You will be stunned to know that the Islamic motifs seen on the walls are hand-painted. Also, while visiting this synagogue, do not forget to drop by the nearby park having a modern sculpture of Franz Kafka.

Prague Tourism: Local Dishes to Try

On Prague Europe tours, you can never have enough food. Here are some of the delicacies to relish as a part of Prague tour packages.

  • Smažený sýr: The food of Prague is way different from anything you would have tasted before. And, this deep-fried cheese is the proof of it. This item is often topped on salads or paired with fries and dips. A common street food, you would stumble upon many stores selling it daily on your Prague Europe tour via Prague tour packages.
  • Guláš: Goulash is a traditional Czech meat stew topped with a dark red sauce that you need to taste as a part of the Prague tour package. This hearty meal is usually made with beef or pork and has an excellent meat quantity. Usually, in restaurants, this steamy broth is served with soft dumplings or rustic bread. So, while enjoying one of the Prague tour packages, do not forget to stop and try this delicacy.
  • Beer: Prague is a heaven for beer lovers, and there is a brew for everyone. Czech beer is known to have a light golden colour. Pilsner Urquell is the most popular beer brand in the country. And, it originates from the town of Plzeň. As beer is an affordable drink, you can have a lot of it when you visit the city through Prague tour packages.
  • Miša: To end your Prague Europe tours on a sweet note, you should definitely try out miša on your visit to the city. These popsicles are made with a combination of cream and quark cheese with a layer of dark chocolate on the top. It is bound to make India tour packages to Prague even more memorable.

Things to do on Your Prague Trip

While you are visiting the glorious city on one of the Prague tour packages, here are some things to do.

  • Go on a Boat Tour: Hands down, riding on a boat through the Vltava River is one of the best things to do. The ride gives a variant perspective of sites like Charles Bridge or Prague Castle. You should add this activity to a Prague tour package to make it worthwhile.
  • Find Out David Černý’s Sculptures: Don't get overwhelmed with the Gothic and Baroque of Prague, as you need to check out these bewildering sculptures. These larger than life installations from the Czech sculptor are distinctly different from other art forms. Art enthusiasts should not miss out on this opportunity while selecting any of Prague holiday packages from India.
  • Hunt Down the City’s Modern Past: There was a time when life in Prague was not as easy as today. To learn about life under communist rule, try visiting Communist Museum. This might not be in the itinerary of regular Prague tour packages, but history buffs would love this diversion.
  • Take a Walk Down Mala Strana: If you are fond of Baroque churches and dimly lit streets, then the backstreets of Mala Strana would not be disappointing. In the Baroque Lesser Town Square, you can also find small shops or local pubs that offer a glimpse at living in the city in such out of India tours selected from Prague and Budapest tour packages.

Souvenirs to Look Out For

Prague is the hub for collecting souvenirs as there is something for everyone. We recommend you to go through the popular markets in search of marionettes, bohemian crystal pieces, and tea paraphernalia, to name a few. Also, if you are into literature, do not forget to pick up Kafka collectables when on a trip through Prague tour packages.

Visitors won't get bored in this captivating city since there are so many incredible locations to visit and explore. Check out these Prague attractions that you shouldn't miss when planning your trip there.

Prague Castle

The beautiful Prague Castle is without a doubt the most recognisable site in Prague. This castle is perched on a hillside and offers picturesque views of the city. Built in 880 AD, this ancient fortification now contains churches, royal residences, museums, a monastery, art galleries, and Golden Lane. Evening is the finest time to see Prague Castle since the sun is at its most beautiful and the castle can be seen lit up when the sky turns dark. The castle complex is free to access and does not require a ticket, however if you want to enter the building, you will need to purchase a ticket. Don't skip seeing this amazing architecture while you're in Prague.

St. Vitus Cathedral

Another popular attraction to check out is St. Vitus Cathedral, which is housed in the Prague Castle. It is a remarkable Roman Catholic Christian Church, the biggest and most significant in the entire Czech Republic. You will be astounded by the cathedral's intricate and magnificent exteriors and interiors, with Baroque and Renaissance influences and 14th-century Gothic styles. In addition, there are three Bohemian kings' tombs and the graves of several saints in this cathedral. Don't miss the exquisite gargoyles that grace the cathedral's front.

Wenceslas Square

One of the largest city squares and a prominent attraction in Prague's New Town neighbourhood is Wenceslas Square. This area has historically served as the location of many historical occasions, protests, festivals, celebrations, and other public meetings. This square is also home to numerous architectural gems, including the breathtaking National Museum. You must visit and explore this lively place in Prague.

Charles Bridge

Every Prague visitor's must-see list includes the magnificent Charles Bridge. It is a historic Gothic stone bridge that connects the Lesser and Old Towns. The bridge is notable not just for its architectural features and excellent antique sculptures of Holy Roman Sovereign Charles IV and more, but also for its panoramic views of Gothic gates and the River Vltava. Another astonishing fact is that the bridge was built in an alignment that allows a beautiful view of the sun setting and St. Vitus' tomb on the equinox. Who would want to miss out on such a marvellous attraction?

The National Museum

The National Museum is a fantastic site to visit in Prague if you want to discover about mineralogy, biology, anthropology, archaeology, and the arts and music. It was founded in the early 1800s and is the Czech Republic's oldest museum. It really is impossible to be bored when you're surrounded by such an exceptional collection. To visit the museum, you need to purchase a ticket, and children under the age of six are free.

Traveling to Prague from India: The Ideal Budget

prague trip from india

traveller Shreya

Budget for Prague trip from India is often anticipated to be skyrocketing. However, that view doesn’t hold true. Prague is one of the most affordable destinations to travel especially when one travels from India. My belief anyway is that the most breathtaking views are usually inexpensive. This holds true for a trip to the historic Bohemian capital of Prague.

Prague is a hot pick among backpackers and solo travelers from across the globe as well as India. This is because the budget for Prague trip from India is very affordable as compared to most other European countries. An ideal budget for Prague trip from India for a short four to five-day trip is expected to be under 60,000 INR.

Located in central Europe, Prague has the geographical advantage of being almost equidistant from the popular European cities of Berlin, Vienna and Munich to name a few. The budget for a Prague trip from India can be better utilized if other cities in Prague’s proximity are explored as well.

Unlike the western European countries where the Euro is the official currency, the Czech Republic’s local and official currency is the Czech Koruna (CZK). This currency is not as strong as the Euro compared to the Indian Rupee (INR) which is why the budget for Prague trip from India seems like a steal.

The small fairytale town lies on either side of the river and has various beautiful spots for the tourists to visit.

5. Terezin Concentration Camp

The historical site takes you back in time and gives you the opportunity to relive the Nazi occupation time in the country during WWII. It was originally built as a fortress to protect Prague but became the opposite after Nazis pushed through Europe and got hold of the place.

Best time to go

Prague has overall a cool atmosphere with a pleasant summer and extremely cold winter. Summertime has a pleasant atmosphere and a maximum tourist flux, which means high rates for accommodation.

The best time to visit the capital city is during spring (March to May) and early fall (September) when the temperature is mild, and the city has low tourist crowds. You can enjoy all the outdoor locations with mostly clear skies during this time.

Spring is the most beautiful time in Prague with a cool breeze, colorful surroundings, and a pleasant atmosphere. If you plan your trip wisely, you can also get the chance to enjoy some local festivals. Fall time brings crispy air, falling leaves, and cool temperature, with beautiful scenery.

Due to the low tourist influx, you might also get discount deals on accommodation, making it more feasible for you to explore the city at your own pace.

Is Prague expensive?

Prague is an expensive city compared with other Czech cities, but compared to various other European capitals, the city has great value. Your overall expenses depend upon the way you spend during your trip. If you are careful about your choices of accommodation, food, and transport, you can make it quite a reasonable amount.

Like, eating in a sit-down restaurant is more expensive compared to street food, the cost of travel in a taxi is more than the cost of local transport, etc. The accommodation cost may vary with your choice of accommodation as well as the time you chose to visit Prague.

If you are planning your Czech Republic tours off-season, you might get discounted deals giving you cheaper options while peak season will cost you a lot more for accommodation.

Is Prague safe?

Pickpocketing is a very common crime in Prague, and you need to be very careful about your belongings to avoid any mishap. Czech police are very cooperative, but they can't do much if you are robbed, so it is better to adopt safety measures.

Don't carry heavy amounts on you while moving around and leave your important documents at home. Be careful and attentive, especially among the crowds or local transport. Use a money belt to keep your valuables to avoid getting robbed. Don't exchange money on the street and avoid people who offer you such services.

Is Prague included on most Czech Republic tours?

Prague is the largest city and capital of the Czech Republic and is one of the most popular cities in the continent. The significant Bohemian history and important location make this city a popular destination.

Czech Republic tours are incomplete without visiting this important city, and it is included in almost every tour of the country.

Food and drink in Prague

Prague is the fifth most visited city of Europe, and one of the significant reasons for its popularity is the unique and delicious local cuisine.

1. Trdelník (Chimney Cake)

This is a traditional sweet snack made with yeast dough wrapped around a metal or wooden stick. The rolled-out dough is cooked traditionally on coal flame, making it crispy outside and gooey inside. The inside of the chimney cake is coated with hazelnut or chocolate spread.

2. Chlebíčky

Also called 'open-faced sandwich,' this delicious snack is one of the most popular dishes of the region. This sandwich is usually eaten by the locals in breakfast or lunch, and especially during social gatherings and celebrations. It consists of a baguette-like bread, which is topped with egg, cucumber, salami, and ham.

The origin of this dish goes back to Hungary, but in modern times, you will find many Czech versions of this dish across the country. The dish comprises a thicker stew of beef or pork and is served with dumplings.

4.  Palačinky

These thin Czech pancakes are just like the French crepes and are served as sweet desserts. They are usually served topped with ice cream, nuts, jam, sweet cheese, fruits, and whipped cream. The savory version is topped with meat, spinach or cheese.

5. Svíčková

This sirloin beef dish is a part of social gatherings, lunches, and dinners with different combinations. Thin beef slices are seasoned with sweet white sauce and covered in creamy vegetable sauce, served with bread dumplings, cream, and lemon slices.

Beer is a national beverage and a crucial part of the Prague experience. The country has the highest beer consumption in the world as people are very fond of it with local cuisine. Pilsner is the most popular country-made beer, a pale lager with the local origin.

Top 5 airlines flying to prague.

I am going to be just factual, not bad mouthing nor complaining, but this was my experience. With 3 pieces of luggage, I was told the flight from Mumbai to Dubai was cancelled due to flood. This was told not by the airport board which still showed the regular time of departure, but general stuff at the airport. No Emirates stuff around to direct the transfer passengers of the cancelled flights. By the departure counters with crowds of people, one by one, angry, frustrated, urgent conversations were going on. No announcement were made, no postings being seen, just private conversations. I still have 5+ hours of layover, so I let more urgent people settled first. However, the fact that no communication of when, what and where I should go was very unsettling. Basically no time limit waiting means, no meal, no sleep, no step away, no planning, no change plan, no telling of the family what to do. Nobody was able to tell you anything but asked you to wait, no chair, no space, no facility to freshen up. That went on for 10+ (from 5) hour without warnings and accurate communications. Email received from Emirates asked me not to go to Dubai at all, or boarding at the time that was passed. In other words, communication were very untimely, after the fact. That created more confusion instead. After changing several of boarding time, we were given the gate # and a boarding pass. However, the boarding pass still have the original time of boarding, so again, not knowing walking 30 min in the airport to the gate would make you late or not, therefore, still dare not to eat a meal. The flight arriving to Dubai was uneventful and I gave a 4/5 rating. I just thought the layover at Dubai would just cut short from 8+ hours to 2+ hours. At Dubai airport, I saw people sleeping on cardboard, knowing, these people got stranded but they dared to sleep because they know when to board and I didn't. Or these kind of delay are just so normal that people know what to do to pass time. Then the worst service and crazy thing happened. The boarding time on board for LA and at gate A9 was clearly 8:50AM. At 8:40, surprised by not having any boarding activities, then one single staff showed up and said to a few passengers that the boarding would be delayed without a time frame. Since only a few people know, I asked another Emirates staff at another counter, who simply said basically non of his business. I was shocked with that indifferent attitude. Yet every boards I saw show the same boarding time. What kind of system failure was that to prepare delay situation! How confusing and unnecessary chaos and anger that provoke. That poor staff had to repeat himself so many times, answered questions that he had no power nor information to provide nor solved. One an only one stuff to show up for 10 min, leaving the counter non-staff with board showing 8:50AM boarding. This was purely irresponsible from top to bottom of the entire airline operation staff. What kind of leader in a service industry would allow this to happen to their customers. Without explanation, after changing 3 times the boarding times, again, means you should not go to eat a full meal, because, when you found a mob at the gate. People who were stranded for 2 days were afraid of not getting a seat with a full plane. That would not be happening if the airline provide adequate guidance to each person, instead of just having 4 staff yelling at the gate at the same time to "control" the crowd, threatening no boarding and delay boarding. Finally, I was on board, hungry and tired, not sleep for 36 hours. I was denied with a snack of fruit. By the time meal was served, it was an hour later. Half way of the trip, I felt sleep in fetus position and did not want to move, happy I finally could have some shut eyes time. However, when I got up to the bathroom, I felt very light headed. Having sleep deprived, constipated for 3 days, dehydrated, I knew it could happen since my blood pressure usually was low closed to 90/60. Any lower then that, I could have syncope. Sure enough, I was on the floor just 10 feet from my seat and 5 feet to the bathroom. However, nobody called for help. I asked for warm water and juice to hydrate, came only with cold and icy drinks which I wouldn't take. I asked for blankets, one was given. Yet my shivering, needs to cover my head and multiple requests did not hasten to take the two blankets that are at my seat 10 feet away. I waited 10 min for that. While 2-3 staff surrounded me, nobody did the vitals until after 15 min, just the spirometer only of which did not work due to my cold fingers. The first reading was 86 and oxygen was suggested. But another supervising personnel came, fussed over another reading, ignoring my comfort and needs. Seemingly the reading of spirometer was the priority. By then, no oxygen needed. I had this fainting experience before, and I knew how to help myself. However, I was not being listened to but to be told this and that. Finally, I got better and returned to seat. One kind flight attendant said she would check back with me in 15 min. She did not come back. I felt asleep in that fetus position again and this time I woke up with a bad cramp at my left leg. Yet I needed to go to bathroom, the cramp was too bad to walk. So I stepped back to seat. When I tried again the second time, the other front leg got cramp. This time I dare not move but massaged myself. For all these 5-10 min, I called for attention. Attendants passed me by because they were carried with heavy load of blankets and stuff. Nobody answered the light. Then came landing and off board. I was asked by two attendants how I felt. I smiled and said "fine".

On the Dubai-Gatwick flight the only meal options were Beef or Chicken. No vegetarian option. This was a surprise. I would usually order in advance but did not this time. Would have been good to know that a vegetarian meal is not available as a standard meal. Thankfully it was just me travelling, but if I’d had my kids with me that would have been a big problem for us.

Checkin and boarding staff at Delhi Airport is not cooperative with passengers Their behavior very humiliating . They don’t allow Lap top bag and Ladies’ purse/vanity bag which most of the airlines allow besides cabin baggage and check in baggages. They try to charge extra payment on the pretext of small variations which normally other Airlines staff don’t do. Airline staff should be courteous & cooperative but check in staff of Emirates Airline at Delhi was not so at all.

Good but needs to improve cleanliness Coffee serve cold Needs to raise standard serving food Otherwise good

Newly reconfigured 380 I assume. Has a new ife with usb c ports and Bluetooth connections

Very bad !! My confirmed ticket got canceled with out notifying me in hyd airport , crew didn’t help us out !! They were very rude!! They made me pay for the confirmed ticket again !! Can you please let us know how I can get the refund for the ticket I paid

Overall good but one thing I didn’t understand is why they didn’t allow me to pick my own seat.

Check-in process at Bengaluru airport was atrociously slow. Emirates should allow baggage drop option after online check-in and verification of documents. The rest of the flight was quite good and we didn't have any complaints.

The air hostess spilled tomato juice on me by mistake in Mumbai -Dubai flight. I was traveling from Mumbai to UAD. Her senior came and offered couple of small chocolates (probably given in business class) as compensation. I asked for access to lounge as I had to travel till IAD and I could shower and change. But she said she cannot do that and did nothing further. I found the response to their mistake as inappropriate.

Food was not eadable. Testless and not apealing. order for indian vegitarian, recived spice less. combination of main course and side iteams are far away from traditonal food, serve less iteams. , but eadoble. Thanks

Kudos to Swiss!! My wife and I thought Swiss was like flying years back: good food service, refreshments, friendly and courteous crew! We look forward to another trip to Europe next year, and it will be a priority to hopefully fly Swiss, thank you! We strongly can say from experience - the treatment (food, drink, entertainment) in service for Economy Class is unmatched!!!

So terrible. They would not rebook me for a flight until 2 days. I had to spend so much money to get my own flight. They were rude and not helpful.

The plane was so hot upon boarding. Their boarding process was so unnecessarily long. Service was subpar.

Everything was on time and efficient - expected from a Swiss crew. But the entertainment system was pretty bad - the display was old. Food was pretty bad and a couple of times they started serving drinks and then just skipped past my row (and likely several others)

Overall a good experience, the flight was on time, the crew very attentive and friendly. However the seats are too cramped, there is no space, and as soon as the person in front reclines the seat, it's literally in your face.

Bag lost. Lost bag recovery process is an unsatisfying customer experience. Because 1) bag is still lost but also 2) the process is outdated and form-heavy and 3) in our case also involved a long line.

They went out of their way. It was very clean and friendly.

I was pleasantly surprised with the whole experience. Thank you

Luggage did not make it to Miami still not today! Screen did not work for couple hours- got a bate of chocolate as a peaceful offering. Crew tentative, seats are getting smaller- isle seat arm rest foes not fold- problem getting other 2 passengers to go to the toilet without hitting themselves

The two meals were plentiful and excellent. The drinks were continuous. Thanks, Crew very polite; however a bit "hazard" at the end as they were rushing us off; to prepare for the cleaning team and next flight. Baggage from Berlin was delayed; however through the apps etc; they kept me aware and informed.(.did receive my baggage about 36 hours after my flight arrival). Good experience; thank you.

Great flight- smooth, nice crew, nice clean aircraft, departed a little late but arrived 10 early.

Sorting on line would have been appreciated Onward information on flights missed No ability to get seating arranged before we got to gate Very unfriendly at gate

I booked the flight with Finnair, which made the arrangements for downloading a boarding pass unnecessarily complicated. I wouldn't do that again. Instead I'd book direct with AA.

Flight ok, but me and other two passengers didn’t have connection with the entertainment in our seats. So, no movies, no games, no music… for 9 hours. The crew just told us that there’s nothing they can do but I noticed during the flight that there were empty seats, so they could have offered to us to change seats. Customer service could be better.

Had a nice flight to London on BA will fly with them again in the future

Finnair cancelled my flight 12 hours prior to leaving for Helsinki. They stated there were mechanical problems. I had to scurry around to find a new flight that would meet my needs for arrival in Helsinki. Luckily I was able to find alternate transportation through Lufthansa/United.

I’m very disappointed, to fly into an airplane for 10 straight hours, and not having a TV even though when I put the ticket I was told that I will have entertainment for the TV. Very disappointed.

Helpful steward. Allowed me to move to some empty seats and I was able to get some sleep. He also had milk for my tea. Americans don’t realise that cream or half and half ruin tea.

Security was a mess at the Helsinki Airport. But I was delighted by the connecting flight waiting for us for JFK.

Very rude hostess. She embarrassed me in front of others. I went to sit after taking off in a different sit in the same economic cabin. Was the area where doors are. She come to me very laud and said: go back to your sit those sit are more expensive.wow! No diplomacy. Flight was super full except 3 of those sit. The only person in that row later during the flight occupied all sit laying down!. Once more disappointed at American Airlines. Early flight they lost my luggages for 4 days. Never refund money for replacement for some of essential items purchased..when I booked the flight I thought was Finlandair. I

Our flight to Chicago O'Hare was delayed an hour, causing us to miss our connection to MSP and spend an extra 3 hours at O'Hare so we could board a plane with a damaged door and wait another 45 minutes or so. The crew was great, the food decent, The drinks were great: 2 glasses of a nice South African Shiraz, an ice cold can of Beck's Beer, and Dewar's White Label on the rocks.

they canceled my flight and we’re absolutely atrocious and helping me rebook

Very poor, flight cancelled, no help from Lufthansa customer service.

terrible. they cancelled the flight 1 day before flying out and just sent an email to inform the same. i had to scramble on my own paying more to find another flight.

The flight was cancelled, and no reason was given. The flight was rebooked 3 days later. Calling customer service was next to impossible. There was no option to get in a queue in the phone call. It simply said all agents are busy call back later. It is 2024 and not 1970s to have such outdated technology. Live chat was even worse as I was 753 in line and it kept getting timed out. The icing on the cake was that the working hours was something like 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM? Really for international airline when the flights usually depart early in the morning? Things only got worse in the check-in counter in Mumbai. The monitor in the check-in counter said that the flight was on time even though it was cancelled. There were 2 agents helping a 747 full of passengers. It was 5:30 AM by the time I checked into the hotel. I tried reaching Kayak (Chatdeal via email) days before the onward flight from Seattle and no one cared to respond even after reminder. I will go with Expedia in the future. In fact, for my next trip to Japan I have already used Expedia.

Very very poor. Reliability is the main issue. The flight from Bangalore to Frankfurt was delayed by 8 hours and hence we couldn’t make the flight from Frankfurt to St. Louis ( which was later canceled by Lufthansa ) . Bangalore airport lounge 080 is EXCELLENT. The shower in the lounge is first class. Wished they had some extendable lounge chairs for sleeping for the weary passengers. FRANKFURT AIRPORT IS HORRIBLE! WILL NEVER EVER FLY IN OR OUT OF FRANKFURT. There is no jetways for the Lufthansa flight and the bus took so long to reach the next terminal. We had to clear immigration and security checks again and again though we are transit travelers.

Ended up canceling the tickets with Lufthansa because they need extra visa for changing terminal for layover at Frankfurt airport.

I would not fly again with Discover or Lufthansa. Every leg of the flight was either late (3+ hours) or cancelled at short notice. No alcohol supplied unless purchased.

My flight was delayed for more than an hour due to planning amd scheduling issues all of which were Lufthansa's responsibility. They failed dismally at doing what was agreed upon and their reparations were inadequate and completely useless to us. The flight crew were lovely however the ground crew working out of their customer service were the modt rude and obnoxious people i have ever had the misfortune of meeting.

Boarding pass could not be used in normal way due to reasons beyond my knowledge, there was argument for 3 hours and the whole episode was miserable specially when you are traveling with 83 yr old sr ctz in such long hall flight. Air india should be avoided if possible, Lufthansa should take a note of this harassment

Indigo attempts to make you pay for a seat during check in. I opted to not do this. The result - they allotted me and my minor son seats apart. In the interest of making maximum money, they seem to have lost common sense too. Similarly, even during the flight, the crew are busy trying to serve food to those who’ve already paid for it. By the time they’re done, it’s time to land and no one else is able to get anything. Sadly this seems to be what makes them profitable, customers just need to bear with it till a better airline comes along.

As usual invariably delayed Lots of time in getting chkd in baggage

Staff needs to be trained in managing customers better. Indigo appears to be a low cost airlines in all aspects.

Flight was delayed and also lots of mosquitoes on the flight

Two times the gate was changed and flight got delayed

INDIGO Never On Time & Always Prefer to Shuttle Passengers Like shuttle Corks

I did not like the communication gap existing amongst the staff and the customer. My flight to Nagpur was delayed by two and half hours but it was informed to me on email ( not by W.A. or SMS) when I have already left my home in Baner area. I was painfully detained at airport with luggage when the gate no. 10 was changed to 5. I'll never recommend your flight to anybody.

Seats don't recline, no charging points. New aircraft and very clean. Crew should serve some water atleast.

Wife and I were seated in separate seats across the aisle

There was inordinate delay without any plausible reason. This has become a normal feature of Indigo now a days.

A food guide to Prague

Slow-roasted meats and fluffy dumplings are being reimagined by a new generation of Czech chefs.

For decades, Czechs saw their cuisine in one light — hearty, simple food made to keep you full, with ingredients that could be bought (or grown) during trying times. Meals were made for big families gathered on Sundays — classics like cumin-roasted pork, wild rabbit or the creamy dill sauce, koprová omáčka, were never found in fine dining establishments. But now, you’ll see them plated on elegant crystal at the Michelin-starred La Degustation Bohême Bourgeoise, a restaurant that books out months in advance.

Prague’s best places to eat draw upon the many chefs, educated both here and abroad, who return to the city determined to rebrand their cuisine, combining traditional recipes and flavours with an emphasis on locally sourced produce and diverse techniques.

A shot of the city of prague. Bridges can be seen over Vltava river against sky seen from Letna park, Prague, Bohemia, Czech Republic.

At Výčep, chef Jiří Hrachový and his team sit at the forefront of modern Czech gastronomy, putting their own spin on classic pub food. Thick sauces and flavour-packed broths beautifully underscore its fish, venison and rabbit dishes. Meanwhile, the revamped Štangl uses innovative ways to highlight select ingredients and let them shine, making stars of raw materials like foraged mushrooms, roasted duck and buckwheat.

Then there’s the Ze Mě project, a farm-to-table pop-up that often includes game meat and foraged ingredients, such as blueberries, mushrooms and edible flowers. And the recently opened Šodó bistro puts emphasis on seasonal produce to elevate dishes like yeasted buns in vanilla sauce and fruit-filled dumplings.

Despite an abundance of spots experimenting with regional cuisine in the capital, the city hasn’t lost its passion for casual, communal places to eat. The centrepiece of Prague’s food scene remains the traditional hospoda (pub) and pilsner. After all, beer is famously often cheaper than water here, and most days you’ll find locals gathered to grab a drink at Automat Matuška in Dejvice, Lokál U Bílé Kuželky with its tall glasses of Kozel beer, or at U Zlatého Tygra in the Old Town, where beer cheese dip is served alongside the brews.

Tourists have long flocked to Prague for its storied history and atmospheric cobblestone streets, lined with rows of pastel-coloured buildings. Considered by many to be one of the Europe’s most beautiful cities, until recently the Czech capital had never attracted food-focused travellers. Now, however, the city is evolving into a destination for those seeking a rich blend of history alongside a vibrant, experimental food scene.

How to spend a day in Holešovice & Letná

Twenty years ago, Prague’s Holešovice neighbourhood was a suburb with not much going on. Today, you’ll find small boutiques, minimalist new restaurants and cafes serving speciality coffee.

To the east, Holešovice Farmers’ Market remains a permanent fixture with fresh pastries and local produce. Start with breakfast at Café Letka , on the border of Holešovice and Letná, for seasonal dishes from across Europe; don’t skip the pastries or espresso, as they’re some of the best this side of the city. Prefer a quick bite? Try Format Coffee for coffee and cake.

An out-of-shot person pouring a dark brown sauce onto a stone dish of duck glazed with the same sauce. There are two bowls of salad in the background.

Wander over to the National Technical Museum , a tribute to Czech Republic’s little-known yet groundbreaking automotive, train and plane inventions over the last 100 years. Next door, the National Museum of Agriculture is a fun stop, with interactive exhibits on farming and gastronomy.

Pause for a pint at Letná Beer Garden (cash only), for sweeping views of Prague and classic pilsner beer or speciality brews. Then lunch at Sandwich Rodeo , Tomáš Oujezdský’s newly opened upscale diner, which serves creative takes on classic American sandwiches, with local brews and homemade lemonades. Try the crispy fried chicken and chopped cheese.

Walk it off at the National Gallery Prague with works from Picasso and Monet, and Czech artists including art nouveau painter Alphonse Mucha. Or stroll through Stromovka Royal Game Reserve , a former royal game park with ornamental ponds and hiking trails.

The Eatery , a Prague food scene staple, has a menu of creative Czech dishes that use locally sourced ingredients, such as wild boar with rosehip sauce, paired with small-production wine from Bohemia, Moravia as well as wider Europe. Round off the day with a seat at the counter to see the team in action.

How to spend a day in Nové Město and Staré Město

With gothic, Renaissance and baroque architecture, Prague’s historic city centre draws tourists from near and far. Nové Město and Staré Město — New Town and Old Town — have traditionally offered visitors some of Prague’s least impressive cuisine.

Nowadays, though, a growing number of upscale restaurants and cosy cafes make it a destination that food-lovers should seek out. Start at EMA Espresso Bar , a hip, minimalist affair known for its killer coffee and simple baked goods. The real gem here is the koláče, a sweet pastry made by beloved local bakery Alf & Bet , which tastes like the sort of traditional home-bake a Czech grandma might make.

Walking is the best way to experience central Prague. From Prašná brána (one of the city’s gates) head down the winding streets to Old Town Square . Wait to see the Twelve Apostles appear on the over 600-year-old astronomical clock.

From here, cobblestone paths lead to the beautiful Charles Bridge . For the best upscale lunch spot, head to elegant Café Louvre , a 120-year-old staple once frequented by the likes of Franz Kafka and Albert Einstein. Its small menu offers traditional tasty dishes like goulash and pork shoulder.

Alternatively, if you’ve had your fill of Czech food, visit QQ Asian Kitchen , where chefs Nyoman Purnata and Lee Chang blend family-style pan-Asian cuisine with inventive fine dining. Or, for a lighter meal, try   Palo Verde Bistro , an innovative restaurant with plant-based dishes ranging from mushroom tortellini to crispy non-chicken burger.

Rent a paddleboat at Slovanka Boat Rentals to spend a couple of hours paddling along the Vltava River. Afterwards, follow Náplavka riverbank walkway, stopping at the renovated kobky   — former waterside dungeons that now house bars, cafes and art exhibits.

End the day at U Kalendů , just south of the Frank Gehry and Vlado Milunić-designed Dancing House. This modern Czech restaurant puts a fresh spin on traditional food. Expect fried carp, homemade pâté and flavourful beef tartare paired with soft homemade bread and local brews.

A white plate on a wooden table with red meat covered in an opaque gravy, served with cream on top.

The best spots to try Svíčková

Don’t leave Prague without trying svíčková, the meaty sauce-covered heart and soul of Czech food, and arguably the country’s most beloved dish. Most Czechs have an opinion on what (and who) makes the best svíčková and, in almost all cases, this comprises tender roasted beef sirloin in a creamy vegetable sauce that’s a sweet-savoury blend of roasted carrot, parsley root, celery, onion and spices. Classic iterations are finished with a dollop of cranberry compote or cream.

1. Lokál Dlouhááá A must-try version of svíčková can be found at the modern pub-like Lokál Dlouhááá in central Prague, where the menu focuses on traditional Czech meals done well. Its svíčková highlights the vegetables in the sauce (rather than swamps them in cream, as variations of this dish often do), with pull-apart tender beef.

2. Havelská Koruna Havelská Koruna near the Old Town has a no-frills take on the classic. This self-service spot draws in both locals and visitors with its creamy sauce and generously plump dumplings.

3. Kuchyň Wander up to Prague Castle for one of the best restaurants in the city, Kuchyň. Chef Marek Janouch serves elevated svíčková with the fluffiest dumplings. As Kuchyň’s menu is seasonal, the dish is most often found in autumn or winter, and pairs well with the venue’s tank beer.
