On Tuesday (May 17), SEVENTEEN announced the North American leg of their Be the Sun World Tour. The K-pop boy band’s tour will begin with two nights in Seoul, before they make their way to North America.
The 13-member group will begin their 13-city North American trek in Vancouver, Canada. They’ll also be stopping in Seattle, Los Angeles, Chicago, Atlanta, Washington, D.C., Toronto and more. More details surrounding the tour, including venue information, are set to arrive in the next few weeks. A press release announcing the North American tour also hinted at more dates being announced in Asia, specifically mentioning a Japan Dome Tour taking place in November and December.

In a country like South Korea where boy bands seem to be multiplying exponentially year by year, Seventeen has broken through with its own unique brand of K-Pop superstardom.
Composed of 13 members, the band was born from the world of Korean reality TV, which has helped launch many of the largest musical acts there. Its 2013 show, Seventeen, featured the band in training for its career as powerhouse entertainment with a tailored stagecraft unmatched by its peers.
By 2015, Seventeen was ready to officially debut as a band. It structured itself strategically, dividing duties between three distinct groups of its members. The hip-hop team is focused on rapping, led by S. Coups and supported by Wonwoo, Mingyu, and Vernon. Next up is the vocalist team, led by Woozi, with four members behind him: Jeonghan, Joshua, DK (also known as Dokyeom), and Suengkwan.
Finally, the dance team, led by Hoshi, has Jun, The8, and Dino rounding out the choreography. This honed approach quickly earned the band members a reputation as unparalleled showmen, garnering nicknames like “The Theater Kids of K-Pop” and “The K-Pop Performance Powerhouse.” Importantly, the group also became revered for doing most of its own songwriting and staging.
On May 26, 2015, Seventeen strutted their stuff on one of South Korea’s major broadcasting networks in an unprecedented one-hour debut showcase. Waiting in the wings was the band’s first EP release, 17 Carat. It broke big on K-Pop charts and solidified Seventeen’s position in the world music scene.
By the next year, a full-length album took things to the next level. The 2016 release of Love & Letter brought more success paired with wins in South Korea’s huge TV music competition series Show Champion. A performance at New York City’s K-pop convention, Kcon, drew even more attention to Seventeen’s meteoric rise.
That next year pushed Seventeen further into the limelight. Over the course of the year, two major releases came in 2017. First was the hit EP A/1, which hit the number one spot on South Korean charts. Later, the band’s second full-length record, Teen, Age, was released. The same year, the band went on its first world tour, called “Diamond Age,” and appeared on another music competition show called One Fine Day.
Never slowing down, 2018 and 2019 brought a lot more from this hard-working act. Seventeen dropped several releases, including the EP You Make My Day, a reissue of Teen, Age called Special Album: Director’s Cut, and its third album, An Ode. Touring didn’t pause for long either, with the 2018 Ideal Cut tour and a 2019 tour in support of An Ode.
If any corner of the globe was still unaware of Seventeen’s signature brand of K-Pop, its work from 2020 to 2022 changed that. The band produced a documentary series about its Ode to You tour on its YouTube channel. It also released four EPs, including Japanese platinum hits Your Choice and Heng:garæ–the latter of which became the first international male artist to stay on the Oricon Weekly Album Chart since the Backstreet Boys. A memorable 2021 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show further exposed them to American audiences.
By 2022, Seventeen’s fourth album, Face the Sun, climbed up to the number seven spot on the Billboard 200. A repackaged version of the record called Sector 17 also came out as well as a remix of their song “World” featuring British Singer Anne-Marie. A third world tour was staged in support, returning the band to avid fans for the first time in three years.

I went to the SVT Ode to You concert in Houston, and I was blown away. It was my first K-pop concert and I’m so glad I got to experience it with SEVENTEEN. I mean, they were amazing. Even without Seungcheol and Minghao (he had a cold), they still slayed!! SVT were so sweet and they were every bit as impressive in person as they were on camera. All of their performances were outstanding, and they’re so versatile. And the dances- I mean don’t even get me started on that one. They’re literally the most synchronized group, their amount of talent is mind blowing, even with 13 members (11 for this concert, but amazing nonetheless!) They’re also very interactive and they also make Carats feel so appreciated, I didn’t even realize that more than 2 hours had flown by by the end of the concert (I wish it had gone on much longer!) Seeing them perform live was kind of surreal to me, and I would totally watch them again (if they come back to Houston on their next world tour, or if I go to Korea) but hopefully I’ll be able to snag tickets in the pit next time, maybe a VIP pass, because trust me, SEVENTEEN is worth it and more. Love from a Houston Carat!! <3
This was easily the best concert I've ever been to. Not only is SEVENTEEN incredibly talented and loving, but also, every other fan I met at the show was so kind and supportive.
The performances were all perfectly executed and, although Hoshi was unable to make it to the show due to health problems, they still said a few words on his behalf and made it clear that he loved and cared for us all so much. SVT is one of the most talented groups in KPOP (in any music honestly) because they do it all themselves. They write, produce, and choreograph all of the songs, and their hard works shows in their amazing stage presence. They just seemed like they were having so much fun and the energy was electric. My personal favorite performance was when Junhui and Minghao sang My I because it's my favorite song off of the Alone album and I am the #1 China Line stan, so I was so pleased with how beautifully the lyrics were portrayed. If you ever get the chance to attend a SEVENTEEN concert, please do it. It is so worth it!!
I really lived this concert! It wasn't a big event like the BTS WINGS Tour was but it was just an overall good time. There was a good amount of talking to the crowd, fan service for those in the front and the energy each member had kept me going through the whole thing. I would relate this concert to one of GOT7, a really good time but not an overall life changer.
I would definitely recommend someone whose new to kpop and wants to go to a kpop concert to go to this one! The people were really sweet, and you can get a feel of how other concerts go and what sort of things you can expect from bigger concerts.
Overall, I had a great time and can't wait to see them again when they return❤️
The concert was amazing!!! The boys really tried their hardest to interact with the English speaking crowd, and I think everyone just got a kick out of seeing them fooling around even while speaking in Korean. The fans were also so supportive of Seungcheol, making a point to scream whenever he came on in the VCRs, even though he wasn’t at the concert.
Omg just listening to the song called don't wanna cry by seventeen and bloody obsessed with I'd love to go see them like wow they are amazing even though I have no clue on what they are on about they definitely are worth seeing but unfortunately they have no concert yet which is sad I would have loved to go see them live but still they are amazing
Seventeen was an amazing group to see. They interact with the audience a lot and they just have fun. They are great performers and always give it 110%. If you ever have the chance to see them please do, they are so fun and crazy to watch. I would definitely pay to see them multiple times even though my bank account says no!
First concert and looking back it still feels so unreal. So many memories were made and it was one of the best experiences of my life. Next time seventeen comes to Dallas I will definitely see them again. They were so funny, sweet, kind, caring, and overall amazing. I definitely recommend seeing seventeen if you can.
I went to Ode to You concert at Thailand many months ago and it's the best concert that i ever go in my life. Seventeen is the most energetic as same as Carats. The concert was super fun!! If you want to join the best concert once in your life, This is my recommendation!!
It was an amazing first concert for me. I had a blast and so did the members it seemed. My favorite memory of last night was when they played Very Nice as the encore song like 5 times in a row after going on and off stage. Once again it was AWESOME!!

SEVENTEEN Announces ‘Follow Again’ Encore Concert
The 13-piece act is set to become 1 out of the only 3 k-pop acts to perform in the nissan stadium.
Headliners indeed! K-pop boy group SEVENTEEN is ready to achieve another milestone as they conquer bigger stadiums.
On January 29, PLEDIS Entertainment announced that the “ God of Music ” hitmakers are once again bringing their stellar performances in the upcoming FOLLOW AGAIN encore tour. Just several days after wrapping up FOLLOW ’s Asia leg, the agency revealed that the group will be returning to South Korea and Japan in 2024.

In a 30-second video, PLEDIS Entertainment unveiled that the encore tour will kick off in Incheon Asiad Main Stadium on March 30 to 31. With this, SEVENTEEN will set a new record under their name as they become the first K-Pop group to hold a solo performance at the said venue.
After that, the 13-piece act will be holding TWO-day concerts in both Osaka Yanmar Stadium Nagai and Kanagawa Nissan Stadium in May. Following this, SEVENTEEN is set to become one out of the only three K-pop acts to perform in Nissan, which is known as the largest stadium in Japan.
As of writing, duo TVXQ is the first and only K-pop act to ever hold a concert in Nissan Stadium in 2018. In December 2023, girl group TWICE announced that they will be performing at the said venue for their Ready to Be in Japan Special concert in July.
With this, SEVENTEEN becomes the third K-pop act to conquer Nissan Stadium which has a massive capacity of about 70,000.
Fans’ reaction on SEVENTEEN ‘Follow Again’ encore tour
While most fans are celebrating the good news of the additional shows, several fans have also expressed their mixed emotions about the encore dates.
On social media, SEVENTEEN ’s fandom, CARATs, have sent their congratulatory messages to the boy group for achieving another huge milestone. However, what makes CARATs bittersweet is the scheduled dates for the said tour.
seventeen will be having their concert at the stadium where fifa world cup final match was held, it has 72k+ seat capacity, and more than that— they’re performing there during their anniversary ☹️ you’ve come so far our sebongs! pic.twitter.com/lq3gzjIqWZ — ari 🍃 (@ksywonu) January 28, 2024
To note, the Nissan Stadium date for the encore stage falls exactly on the group’s debut anniversary, which will be on May 26. Remarkably, it will be a historic moment for both SEVENTEEN and CARATs as it will be the finale concert for the FOLLOW era and the group’s ninth anniversary celebration.
Although undeniably proud of the group’s achievement, some Korean CARATs can’t help but feel bittersweet with the schedule. On the platforms Weverse and X, several Korean fans stated that they feel disappointed with how the “ Super ” singers will be celebrating their anniversary far from their home country.
🐯 we're kpop singers, but we couldn't do a lot of concerts in Korea… i am sorry… NJDSKJSAL HOSHI LOL pic.twitter.com/ksYSATWbZh — 9697 (@soongyu) July 22, 2023
Hoping Pledis hears KCarats out this time like this is the time to listen. Like really listen. May 26 is so significant that I think it should always ALWAYS be held in Korea whether it be Caratland or an Anniversary Concert. — bato (@coupjjonghae) January 29, 2024
In addition, fans have also pointed out that South Korea had only two concert dates for FOLLOW to Seoul last year, while Japan had a total of 12 concerts for their FOLLOW to Japan dome tour which was set across 5 cities. Some also said that SEVENTEEN were already in Japan on their eight anniversary last year for their Love fan meeting .
This time I can't even blame kcarats for being mad, they have every right to be. Wdym Japan is getting 16 concerts in a single tour while south Korea is only getting 4?? Even I'm salty about it wth pic.twitter.com/55Jry4h8Q2 — cami୭̥⋆ (@Venomin_) January 28, 2024
some of the posts were also reminding pledis/hybe that svt was also in japan for their 2023 8th anniversary (love fanmeeting) svt won't be in korea again this 2024 9th anniversary ((and this MIGHT also be the last anniv before e-word)) the venue is really great and it's +++ https://t.co/RfJDnQ8II4 — 📼 gotsvt4lyf (@sunnchans) January 28, 2024
As of writing, PLEDIS Entertainment is yet to respond to the fans’ clamor.

SEVENTEEN will release their 4th studio album Face the Sun at midnight (ET) on May 27. The 9-track album with the lead single “HOT” has already racked up over 1.74 million pre-order sales in its first week, reaching an all-time high for the band.
Racking up 2 billion streams and selling 10 million albums, SEVENTEEN—comprised of S.COUPS, JEONGHAN, JOSHUA, JUN, HOSHI, WONWOO, WOOZI, THE 8, MINGYU, DK, SEUNGKWAN, VERNON and DINO—has rocketed to the forefront of the music scene fueled by a fiercely independent spirit and a nonpareil in-house creative ecosystem. The group’s innovative structure hinges on the interplay of three units: hip-hop, vocal, and performance. Living up to the title of “K-pop Stage-breakers,” SEVENTEEN has unassumingly made history and become one of the biggest groups ever due to their world-class synchronization, jaw-dropping choreography, and tight teamwork. SEVENTEEN’s latest EP Attacca debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s Top Album Sales chart and No. 13 on the Billboard 200. It sold over 1.3 million copies in the first week of release, earning the K-pop superstars the “quintuple million seller” title as it joins their last four consecutive releases— An Ode , Heng:garæ and ; [Semicolon] , Y our Choice —in selling over 1 million copies each.

It's not really a 'world' tour if it's only the US, Canada and Japan. It's more like a North American tour with a stop off in Japan on the way home.
I mean the official doesn't call it as a world tour either. They just call it 2024 BXX Tour
