Stoke travel officially the biggest and best at oktoberfest.

Stoke Travel Officially The Biggest And Best At Oktoberfest

According to TourRadar, Stoke Travel is officially the best tour operator in Munich for Oktoberfest . We’d always known that, but it was nice to have it confirmed officially. They made their choice based on guests’ reviews, of which we either get exceptional ones, or terrible ones. For Oktoberfest the exceptional far outweighed the terrible.

This is partly because of our all-inclusive, no hidden cost nightly price from €65 per day, €80 if you want a wristband for the open and unlimited beer and sangria bar that we have on site (you do). For your €65 you get twin share camping accommodation, with sleeping mat and bag, a hot breakfast with bottomless mimosas, and a beer when you arrive. This is already an exceptionally good deal.

stoke travel oktoberfest tents

We don’t stop at that, however. Stoke Travel goes to great lengths to ensure that where you camp is also the best party you’ll ever see. We have pulled together a giant area for drinking, socialising, and chatting each other up. Every night we have bands, or DJs, or live burlesque performances, or magicians, or carnival sideshows, or all of it together. We have drinking game stations set up, and our infamous Wheel of Misfortune means that there’s usually somebody running around naked or drinking from their shoe.

That’s what we do from our side, in order to attract the best group of travellers we can. And they come, you come, in droves. We are by far the biggest tour group in Munich, with 8000 people joining us over the three weekends of Oktoberfest and all the days in between, topping out at over 2000 on any one night when we’re at our busiest.

We have travellers partying with us from all over the world, from more than 80 different nations, meaning that when you stay with us you won’t be surrounded only by people from your country (although there will be plenty of them if you want to a taste of home). This is a truly international experience, where you can meet new people from all over the globe and party with them, fuelled by unlimited beer and sangria from the aforementioned open bar.

Stoke will have 300 or so wild, weird and wonderful staff on hand to take care of you – mostly volunteers who will be on hand to offer you a beer on your arrival, check you in, show you to your tent and make sure everything there is in order, serve you beer or sangria from the open bar, produce our radio show that plays over the camp when there are no DJs or bands, man the travel desk that will help you get to your next destination, make sure you find the right dirndl or lederhosen for you, and cook your food for you.

Cook your food for you. This one’s important. We have a team of chefs and cooks who spend 18 hours a day preparing your breakfast and dinner (it takes that long to prep for serving so many people). At dinner time they will be serving up German specialties , like bratwurst and sauerkraut, and traveller’s staples like nachos and chicken schnitzel burgers, and even paellas because Stoke’s roots are in Spain. For breakfast we’re talking bacon and eggs, french toast, and so on. Something hardy and cooked to line your stomach before a huge day of beery boozing. For some travellers, a stay with Stoke represents the best meal they’ve had in a good while.

We also have coffee roasters onsite, serving up real coffee for a small fee (there’s free instant with breakfast). They have sourced the beans and are skilled in the art of preparation, including putting generous nips of various spirits in your coffee if you so wish. We also have food carts, serving up hearty, cheap and delicious treats for lunch and brunch, and whenever your stomach needs to be extra lined.

Our aim is to create and environment for you to be whomever you want to be, to party however you want to party, to provide somewhere for you to warm up for the beer halls, or to keep the party going when you return. We know that you travel to festivals to make the most of them, and so we provide space and installations and services for you to have the most wonderful Oktoberfest possible. Nobody else in Munich goes to these lengths, and that is why Stoke Travel is the biggest tour operator at Oktoberfest, and also the best.

Want to learn more about the festival itself? Click here for our Oktoberfest guide . Or if you’re already sold, just dive over there and book one of our Oktoberfest packages . Prost!

Beer bongs, Wheel of Misfortune, general carrying on

Welcome to Stoketoberfest

Stoke Travel’s Oktoberfest campsite is the thing of legend. By far the biggest group of travellers and pissheads in Europe, with 1000s of young people staying and partying there on any given night.

Here you’ll find your twin-share tent set up, brunch provided every morning, and as Bread Gang’s guest, you’ll get their bottomless beer and sangria bar for free!

This is the perfect place to party before and after the beer halls with beerbongs, shoeys, and a dancefloor thats pumping full of tuneage from our international DJs and live bands.

This is where your wildest dreams can come true – but you’ll be so shitfaced that you’ll never remember it.

stoke travel oktoberfest tents

Here's what we'll do...

Turn up and get turnt.

You can arrive at any time today to the Stoketoberfest campsite. Check in, laugh at how shit your tent is, and then head straight to the open beer and sangria bar. Check out who’s about, get on the tune, hit the dancefloor and try and save yourself for tomorrow…

Beer Halls open

You’re going to wake up at a reasonable hour and shit, shower and shave (at least one of the three). Then it’s onto the public bus and into the beer halls, where we wait until midday for the keg to be tapped, at which point all hell breaks loose and we have the best time ever.

The beer halls serve beers before midday for the rest of the festival, so let’s get in there early and get a table right where the bands play. Today’s for dancing on the benches, flirting with the wenches and just generally having the perfect beer fest experience. Maybe hit some rides if we’re feeling frisky.

Maybe see some sights

You’d think that sightseeing is for cowards, but you’d be a deadset peanut to visit Munich and not have a wander around. We reckon the highlights are the standing wave in the city centre, and the fact that the whole city is basically one big beer garden. Also, why not hit the beer halls one more time. Mondays are always less crowded, which means more piss for us.

Stoketoberfest

The daily Stoketoberfest schedule goes something like…

08:00 am-11:00 pm: open bar is open 08:00-10:00 am: brunch with mimosas 5:00-11:00 pm: party with DJs and bands 11:00 pm – whenever: after party in the front bar

stoke travel oktoberfest tents

Oktoberfest is the world's wildest party

Which is no surprise considering that it’s all based around beer drinking. BUT it’s also deeply traditional and stacked with history, so you can kind of write the trip off as a cultural experience.

For example, the festival goes back to the 1800s and originally celebrated a royal wedding, but the tradition of chucking on the lederhosen (guys) and dirndl (gals) goes back way further in Bavaria, this part of Germany.

A litre of beer will set you back around €15 with tip, but you’ll only need a few of them to get rowdy. Dancing on benches is encouraged, but be warned that if you put a foot on the table you’ll have to down your drink. We often do that on purpose.

And you’ll be partying with people from all over the world, but mostly locals, who will be stoked to show you the ropes, smash a  prost (cheers) with you, and let you dance on their bench with them.

Seriously, it’s the most fun you can have with your pants on.

But, you’ll be comfortably far enough away from them to ensure you’re well rested for a huge day and night of drinking the best beer in the world.

Surfing the Basque Country

Imagine yourself camped out in the rolling Basque hills, surrounded by vineyards growing the local txakoli white wine, spending your days learning to surf, or honing your skills, in the Bay of Biscay. Event Glamping have more than a decade’s experience operating trips for surfers in this part of the world, and we know that after a big day of being tossed around the North Atlantic, there’s nothing you’ll appreciate more than a comfortable bed and some wifi to share your tall surfing tales with your soon-to-be jealous friends back home.

Munich’s Oktoberfest is the perfect event to try Glamping. Our Oktoberfest Event Glamping is located in the campsite nearest to the city centre, with a river running through it, and enough fellow partiers staying in the same campsite to make sure you’re always surrounded by like-minded beer lovers, intrepid travelers and party animals. HIGHLIGHTS & SIGHTSEEING IN KHABAROVSK

  • The City Tour along wooden and brick houses preserved from the time of the city’s founding will enable you to feel an unmistakable charm of Khabarovsk. The oldest Komsomolskaya Square houses the remarkable redbrick building dating 1901(now the Public Library). Splendid view of the St.Innokenty church – the first church built in the city. During the Stalin’s period, a well known GULAG Camp existed near the Ulakhan village which was located close the city.
  • The Archaeological Museum contains over 40,000 artifacts; among them, there are the world famous petrogliphs of Sikachi Alyan and cultural heritage of the Golden Empire of the Jurchen People.
  • The Art Museum possesses a unique collection of the Far Eastern aboriginal crafts and arts that includes fish skin outfits, beautiful carpets and bone engraved items. Some wonderful ancient Russian icons and paintings by famous Russian artists Ilya Repin, Ivan Shishkin and Isaac Levitan, as well as works by Western masters, such as Rembrandt, Rubens and Monet are exhibited in the Art Museum.
  • The Cruise along the Amur River is might be a beautiful journey within a live archeological museum. The riverside rocks make an unusual display of man-made carvings – petrogliphs that are the images of ancient cultural heritage of local ethnic groups. The Bolshekhetsirsky State Nature Preserve has conifer-broadleaved forests rich in typically virgin nature and genetic stock of organic life. In 30 miles to the southwest of the city, there is the Khekhtsir State Nature Reserve, a unique place where southern lianas, Manchurian walnuts grow side by side with evergreen conifers. Bears, foxes, wolves, elks and tigers could be watched occasionally there. The Badjal Range – one of the most picturesque parts of the Russian Far East with unique flora and fauna is abundant in sable, musk deer and bears.

Understand [ edit ]

Overlooking the confluence of the Amur and Ussuri Rivers, Khabarovsk is the second largest city in the Russian Far East , approaching 600,000 residents and growing. It is also the capital of both Khabarovsk Krai and the Far Eastern Federal District . Unlike Vladivostok, the city has never been closed to foreigners, and retains a distinct international feel, rare for the Russian provincial centers – a feeling propped up by an increasing Asian presence with arrivals from Asian countries now numbering over a million each year. In turn, Asians come here to experience a piece of Europe close to home, with the fortunate effect that the city is spending huge swaths of money renovating the city, in which old classical buildings were spared much of the destructive effects of the 1917-23 civil war, to provide its visitors with just that feeling. From a European's perspective, Soviet city planning has unmistakably taken its toll, but it is still far more attractive than your average Siberian city.

Climate [ edit ]

The climate is temperate and monsoonal, with a cold, dry winter and a hot and humid summer. The average temperature for a full year is just 2°C, but covers over wide span of monthly averages ranging from a bone chilling −20°C in January to a quite warm +21°C average in July. The city sees an average of 686 mm precipitation in a year, but unfortunately the lions' share falls in the warm summer months. The number of sunny days per year is 70, which is higher than Moscow's 54. Climate-wise, end of May - early June or end of August - early September are the best time for a visit.

  • 48.49659 135.07283 2 Khabarovsk railway station ( Habarovsk 1 ), Leningradskaya, 58 , ☏ +7 4212 38-39-40 . Khabarovsk station, listed as Habarovsk 1 in most train schedules, is a major stop on the Trans-Siberian Railway . There are several trains each day bound for Vladivostok (800 km) and Moscow (about 8500 km) along the main Trans-Siberian line. Other options include trains #386 or #035 to Blagoveshchensk , #325 for Tynda, #667э for Komsomolsk , #943э Vanino , all on the Baikal-Amur Mainline . Vanino is an interesting option as it allows ferry connections to Sakhalin and further on to Wakkanai in Japan – more details in the Russia to Japan via Sakhalin itinerary. The international trains are Khabarovsk- Harbin , ongoing twice a week and Khabarovsk- Pyongyang on special days.

By boat [ edit ]

  • 48.46904 135.0581 3 River Port , Shevchenko 1 .

If you want to go to places upstream on the Amur river, the Meteor speedboats will often be your transport of choice, but only during the summer when the river is navigable. However, in 2008, the water level in the river was at a historic low, so that the Meteor traffic had to be stopped. If Meteor traffic functions normally, you can go some 1,000 km downstream to the Ul'chi municipal district (rayon), a region mostly inhabited by indigenous Ul'chi people.

  • Fuyuan – In spring and summer there are daily hydrofoil services to Fuyuan in northeastern China , departing from the ferry terminal facing the Amur river.
  • Komsomolsk – If you are heading for the BAM line up north, an interesting option is to take a hydrofoil cruising up the Amur river to Komsomolsk (6 hours), and catch a train from there.

Get around [ edit ]

Map

The best thing to start with is to walk around the center of the city. Have a nice walk from Lenin Square to the Amur River via the main street, Muravieva-Amurski. You will find all sorts of shops and places to eat.

By tram [ edit ]

The city has a network of four tram lines (there is no line 3 or 4). The most useful section for visitors is the stretch of the network running from the main railway station along Amursky Boulevard, before making a left turn down Volochaevskaya St. (near the market), and crossing Muravyov-Amursky Street one block west of Lenina Square, it then continues south intersecting Lenina Street roughly at its halfway point, before a stop at the botanical gardens (Lines 1, 2 & 6). The remainder of the network mainly extends into the sleepy suburbs. Line 5 serves the North, Line 1 and 2 the South along Krasnorechenskaya St.

By bus [ edit ]

The electric trolleybuses also has a few useful sections for visitors, Line 1 runs between the Airport and Komsomolskaya Square (River promenade, Museum cluster) along Karla Marksa and Mureava Amursky streets.

The regular bus number 1, is a useful circle line. It starts at the Railway station, turns down Seryshev street (a block north of Amursky Boulevard) until it reaches the river park at Lenin Stadium. Turns down Komsomolskaya Street (and square) and runs south until Lenina Street. It then runs the entire length of Lenina street before north at the City History Museum and returns to the train station.

Major destinations [ edit ]

  • Airport 18, T1, T2, T4

The Far Eastern Museums [ edit ]

There is a fantastic cluster of top notch museums along Shevchenko Street, just behind the tall blue-domed Church of Theotokos on Komsomolskaya Square towards the river and stadium. Not only are the museums some of the best in the far east, they also make their home in some impressive century-old buildings dating back to before the revolution. After a visit, the nice river promenade is just a short walk away, so you can wash all that new found knowledge away with some pivos in good company.

Tugged away just across the next street behind the military museum, you also find the Archeology Museum on Turgeneva street.

You can also do it through terminals spread all over the city - like Qiwi or mobile shops.
