Taylor Swift ‘The Eras Tour’ concert film: Everything you need to know

For all the fans who couldn’t snag a ticket to one of Taylor Swift’s stops on her sold-out “ Eras Tour ,” your time has come: It’s coming to the big screen for some people even sooner !

The singer shared on social media Oct. 11 that due to high demand, early access showings of “Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour” will be available in the United States and Canada one day before its official release on Oct. 13.

AMC announced in September that in addition to the film's North American release in nearly 4,000 movie theaters in October, the film will play in 100 countries starting Oct. 13.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift wrote on X , the platform formerly known as Twitter, on Aug. 31 for the film's North American announcement.

“Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged,” she added.

AMC said in a press release it took less than 24 hours for Swift's concert film to "shatter AMC’s U.S. record for the highest ticket-sales revenue during a single day in AMC’s 103-year history."

"With such overwhelming demand being evident, it became obvious that there should be an immediate worldwide release of the film," the company said.

Recently, Swift cited "unprecedented demand" as the reason she's adding additional showtimes before the film is even released .

“I can’t really wrap my head around this but…. Look what you genuinely made me do: Due to unprecedented demand we’re opening up early access showings of The Eras Tour Concert Film on THURSDAY in America and Canada!! As in… TOMORROW. We’re also adding additional showtimes Friday and throughout the weekend,” she said in her Instagram post .

“I can’t thank you enough for wanting to see this film that so vividly captures my favorite adventure I’ve ever been a part of: The Eras Tour. And the best part is, it’s an adventure we’re still on together,” she continued.

Here’s what to know about the “Eras Tour” concert film .

The 'Eras Tour' film release date

The “Eras Tour” concert film will be a filmed version of “Eras Tour” performances from three of the singer's shows in Los Angeles , which took place Aug. 3-5.

The concert film will premiere in most countries at 6 p.m. local time, according to AMC .

Not wanting to go up against Swifties, shortly after the release date was confirmed, “The Exorcist: The Believer” announced it was changing its release date, which was originally Oct. 13.

Founder of Blumhouse, Jason Blum, who is distributing the film alongside Universal and Morgan Creek, tweeted: “Look what you made me do. The Exorcist: Believer moves to 10/6/23.”

He included the hashtag: “#TaylorWins.”

By Sept. 1, Swift had once again disrupted yet another film’s release. Meg Ryan’s movie “What Happens Later” will now be released Nov. 3, instead of Oct. 13, Bleeker Street, the company distributing the rom-com announced.

“So we’ll take our time...Are you ready for it? Meg Ryan ends her 14-year rom-com hiatus and the #Megaissance begins with #WhatHappensLater, now happening...later. Coming only to theaters November 3!” the company tweeted.

The 'Eras Tour' concert film running time

The “Eras Tour” concert film has a running time of 2 hours and 48 minutes, according to AMC Theatres . The live show runs over three hours, so it looks like the film version will be slightly condensed.

Where to watch the 'Eras Tour' concert film

Starting Oct. 13, the “Eras Tour” concert film will be showing in theaters across the U.S., including AMC, Cinemark and Regal. Swift also announced due to high demand, there will be early access showings Oct. 12 in Canada and the United States.

Every AMC location in the country will offer at least four showtimes a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, AMC said in a release.

AMC is also distributing the film to other theaters across North America and has deals with major theatrical exhibitors like Cineplex in Canada and Cinepolis in Mexico to show the concert film.

In Europe, the concert film will play in every ODEON Cinemas location, according to AMC.

"Additionally, AMC and its sub-distribution partners are taking steps to reach agreements with additional cinema operators throughout the world to play this spectacular Taylor Swift tour-de-force," the company said in a previous press release.

How to get tickets for the 'Eras Tour' concert film

According to a link shared by Swift on X , fans can purchase tickets for the “Eras Tour” concert film in the U.S. via AMC, Regal, Cinemark or Fandango.

In an effort to deal with the expected overwhelming demand for tickets — and no doubt to avoid the ticketing issues that have plagued the booking process for live shows — AMC introduced a queuing system to access its website.

“Thank you for your patience as we experience high traffic volume,” a previous message read on AMC’s website when first accessed. “We have proactively created this queue for all visitors. When it is your turn, you will have 10 minutes to begin your TAYLOR SWIFT | THE ERAS TOUR Concert Film ticket purchase or other online visit.”

AMC said in a release that it upgraded its website and ticketing system to cope with a high volume of ticket sales. But the chain also noted that “no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale.”

AMC warned that people booking tickets online may experience delays, wait times and outages.

AMC noted on its ticket-booking page that tickets are nonrefundable and that "no passes, exchange tickets, or discount tickets may be used."

For those outside of North America, tickets went on sale for most participating locations Sept. 26, according to AMC.

Ticket prices for the 'Eras Tour' concert film

Adult tickets for the “Eras Tour” concert film at AMC Theatres in the U.S. will be priced at $19.89 plus tax, in a playful reference to Swift’s fifth (and soon-to-be-re-released) studio album, “1989.”

Children’s and senior tickets are $13.13 plus tax, a wink at Swift’s famous lucky number of 13.

Some showings at IMAX at AMC, Dolby Cinema at AMC and “other premium large formats” may have a higher ticket price, which varies by format and theater.

For international Swifties , ticket prices will vary by country, according to AMC.

Will the 'Eras Tour' concert film be available to stream?

As of now, the “Eras Tour” concert film is available only in movie theaters. Swift has not indicated whether there are plans to release the film on streaming platforms.

Is the live 'Eras Tour' still happening?

“The Eras Tour,” which kicked off in March 2023 , is still in full swing. After wrapping up her initial run of shows in North America, Swift is set to begin the international leg of the tour this November with shows across South America, Asia, Australia and Europe through August 2024.

She also added extra shows in the U.S. and Canada in October and November 2024.

If you haven't seen Taylor Swift 's The Eras Tour — or simply want to relive the experience — a film version of the concert was released to capture Swift's career-spanning show in all of its glory.

In the midst of the tour, which launched March 13, 2023 and continues through Dec. 8, 2024, the Grammy-winning superstar's Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film was announced, and Swifties instantly scrambled for tickets.

Thousands of AMC Theatres and other participating cinemas across the globe screened the filmed performance throughout fall 2023, and attendees brought the energy from the live show to the movie theater — going all out by wearing the same looks they wore to the stadium. "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged," posted Swift, 33, on social media when she announced the film in late August.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon," wrote the "All Too Well" singer-songwriter.

From the film's run time to its streaming release date and more, keep reading for everything to know about Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film.

When did Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film premiere in theaters?

The concert film arrived in theaters across the globe on Oct. 13 — a nod to the pop icon's lucky number, no less. While the theatrical event was originally supposed to only hit cinemas in North American on the date, with dates in other countries to follow, in late September the hitmaker announced that Oct. 13 would officially be the worldwide release date .

“The tour isn’t the only thing we’re taking worldwide…….. 🌎,” Swift wrote on Instagram announcing the news at the time. “Been so excited to tell you all that The Eras Tour concert film is now officially coming to theaters WORLDWIDE on Oct 13!”

The Grammy winner also surprised fans at the film's premiere event held at The Grove's AMC theater in Los Angeles on Oct. 11 when she revealed that there would be special early screenings on Oct. 12 at select cinemas in the U.S. and Canada.

Advanced tickets to the "theatrical concert experience" were originally offered by AMC Theatres, which began by showing the movie four times a day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, while other participating cinemas followed with their own schedules.

How much did tickets for Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film cost?

Tickets for the film cost $19.89 (plus tax) for adults and $13.13 (plus tax) for kids and seniors on all screens.

The theatrical concert experience was also available on premium large format screens at AMC, including IMAX and Dolby Cinema, for an additional charge.

Where can fans purchase tickets to see Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film in theaters?

Taylor Swift The Eras Tour remains showing in select theaters and anyone who still wants to see it on the big screen can head to AMC Theatres' website to purchase tickets.

Where was Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film screened?

Swift's theatrical event was shown at every AMC Theatres location throughout the United States — and there are approximately 950, according to the company's website . However, some theaters showed the concert film on multiple screens, so fans can choose from thousands of options to attend.

Upon its release, the project directed by Sam Wrench was also shown at additional multiplex chains and independent cinemas, as well.

How long is Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film's runtime?

The version of the concert movie released to theaters ran at 2 hours and 45 minutes — which is not as long as the actual Eras Tour, which runs for more than 3 hours and 15 minutes. Condensed transitions and song introductions contributed to the shortened run time , as did the exclusion of several songs on the setlist.

As the documentary was filmed during the first three nights of  her six-night stop in Los Angeles , when compared to the setlist at the shows, the tracks that didn't make the cut into the film are: "No Body, No Crime" with Haim, "Long Live," "Wildest Dreams,” The Archer" and "Cardigan."

Although some footage was cut from the theatrical release, fans will be able to watch even more material at home. When the "Cruel Summer" singer announced the on-demand release date for Taylor Swift The Eras Tour , she revealed that "The Archer," "Long Live" and "Wildest Dreams" will be added back in, seemingly elongating the run time by about 15 minutes.

Was merchandise available for Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film?

Ticket holders for the concert film at AMC Theatres received a free mini poster of Swift performing on stage alongside the Eras Tour logo. Additionally, special Eras Tour popcorn tubs and collectible cups were available for purchase of either a large popcorn or large fountain drink, respectively, at AMC Theatres while supplies lasted. The popcorn and tub cost $14.99 (plus tax), and the collectible cup and large fountain drink cost $11.99 (plus tax).

When will Taylor Swift The Eras Tour concert film be available on streaming services?

The concert film will officially become available to rent on demand in the U.S. and Canada on Dec. 13 — none other than Swift’s birthday. The singer-songwriter announced the rental release date in late November so fans could join in on her birthday celebrations the following month.

On Instagram she shared, “Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!”

The hitmaker also revealed that the songs that were cut from the theatrical release of the film for its runtime, including “The Archer,” “Long Live” and “Wildest Dreams,” will be included in the on-demand version.

While Swift revealed that the rental will become available in additional countries soon, it’s yet to be announced when (or if) the film will hit streaming services. In the past, she’s previously released films for The 1989 World Tour on Apple Music, as well as the Reputation Stadium Tour on Netflix. The Miss Americana documentary was also released on Netflix.

How did Taylor Swift The Eras Tour perform at the box office?

The Midnights artist ended up breaking records with the release of her Eras Tour concert film. Even before the movie arrived in theaters, due to advanced ticket sales, it became the biggest concert film debut of all time . By earning $92.8 domestically during its opening weekend , it shattered records and beat out Justin Bieber 's  Never Say Never  concert film, which grossed $73 million total over the course of its 2011 domestic run.

Taylor Swift Adds a Theater Near You to Eras Tour Stops

Portrait of Justin Curto

Update, Tuesday, September 25, at 8 a.m.: Flash forward and Swifties are taking on the world together, literally. Taylor Swift announced the global release of The Eras Tour movie, after previously announcing the North American dates with AMC Theatres. “Been so excited to tell you all that The Eras Tour concert film is now officially coming to theaters WORLDWIDE on Oct 13!” Swift wrote in an announcement post on Instagram. The film has already spooked demons and  broken presale records held by Star Wars , so may the Force be with fans as they try to get tickets — they are already on sale in most countries.

If you haven’t drafted your Vulture Movie League team yet, it’s not too late to bring your picks to Swiftory. Ask Travis Kelce how it’s going if you need any more convincing.

Original story follows.

Looks like motion capture put her in a bit better light this time. Taylor Swift is releasing a documentary of the Eras Tour on October 13, the latest move in her Film Era. “The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon 😆,” Swift tweeted with the news. Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour is directed by Sam Wrench, a Grammy nominee who has helmed films for Billie Eilish, BTS, Brandi Carlile, and many more musicians. And the first trailer is here to already get you started reliving the Eras Tour or experiencing it for the first time.

A Swift concert doc had been an open secret after many fans noticed the tour was being filmed, but most assumed it would go to streaming, like her Netflix film Miss Americana or her Disney+ folklore companion The Long Pond Studio Sessions . Instead, the doc is being distributed by AMC in a first-time deal. The theater is promising at least four show times at every AMC theater on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, while also getting the doc on other screens throughout North America. Regular tickets are $19.89, while senior and children’s tickets are $13.13 — don’t say she’s not a mastermind. (And, of course, it’s available in IMAX and Dolby Cinema too.) Alamo Drafthouse later also announced that it would screen the film, with tickets going on sale September 1. AMC’s preorder tickets, meanwhile, are already on sale. In anticipation of the drop, the theater said its server can handle “more than 5 times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.” Still, it warned fans that there may be delays, because “no ticketing system in history” can handle Taylor Swift. As long as AMC doesn’t end up in court or Congress over this one, we’ll call it a success.

When Is The Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie In Theaters

TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR Concert Film is set to release in U.S., Canadian, and Mexican theaters on October 13, 2023 at most major chains. As of the time of writing, the movie will air in AMC Theatres until November 5. However, this time period may be extended depending on the demand for movie tickets and box office sales. If the initial sales are any indication, this movie will probably stay in theaters for longer than the almost three-week run it is currently slated for.

How To Get Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie Tickets

The movie TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR Concert Film will release in AMC, Regal, and Cinemark theaters. AMC Theatres plans to show the film at least four times per day on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at every location across the U.S. Tickets will cost $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children and seniors, plus tax. Though most of these chains offer loyalty memberships, it appears they will not be applicable to this film. When Will The Taylor Swift Eras Tour Movie Be On Streaming?

Currently, there is no set streaming release date for TAYLOR SWIFT: THE ERAS TOUR Concert Film . With the movie hitting theaters late this year, it's likely to release on streaming in early 2024. This speculative timeframe is based on a few factors. Firstly, the movie will likely have a short exclusivity period with U.S. movie theaters. Then the film would likely hit international theaters at the end of 2023. This would push a streaming release to 2024.

When the movie does begin streaming, it's likely that Netflix will have exclusive rights to the Eras Tour concert movie. This prediction is based on the fact that Swift previously worked with the company to release her 2020 documentary Miss Americana . It's likely that the film will hit international theaters after Swift completes the international leg of her tour. This will keep the show a surprise for everyone who has a ticket. Alternatively, the movie may forgo international theaters altogether and go straight to streaming instead. This would be a missed opportunity considering the U.S. tickets have already set sales records.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour Concert Film Coming to Movie Theaters

A theatrical version of the billion-dollar tour — a cultural juggernaut that just ended its North American leg — opens Oct. 13.

By Joe Coscarelli

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour, the billion-dollar juggernaut that has dominated the cultural calendar this year, may be on a break before picking up internationally, but its momentum will only rest so long: The show is coming to movie theaters this fall.

“Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” concert film will be released in the United States, Canada and Mexico on Oct. 13, Swift announced on social media Thursday, with U.S. AMC Theaters promising at least four showtimes per day from Thursday to Sunday upon opening.

“The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon,” Swift said. “Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged.”

Anticipating the white-hot demand that has followed the tour since its announcement, crashing ticketing systems around the world , AMC promised in a news release that it had “bolstered its ticket server capacity to handle traffic at more than 5 times the current record for the most ever tickets sold in an hour.” (The company added, however, that it was “also aware that no ticketing system in history seems to have been able to accommodate the soaring demand from Taylor Swift fans when tickets are first placed on sale.”)

Tickets are on sale now. Prices start at $19.89 for adults and $13.13 for children, substantially less than what fans paid for the tour itself — especially on the robust secondary market — as the concert industry adjusts to sometimes prohibitively high costs for its biggest events .

Swift, 33, wrapped this year’s North American dates with four shows in Mexico last week. Her downtime, though, will be brief. In addition to the movie version of the concert, the singer will release “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the fourth of rerecorded original albums, two weeks later, on Oct. 27. By November, the Eras Tour will pick up in Argentina before traveling around the world in 2024, with dates — including nine additional U.S. shows — continuing into November 2024.

“1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the new edition of her 2014 pop blockbuster, marks Swift’s seventh release in barely three years, a period of artistic productivity that has fueled pent-up, post-pandemic demand for the singer’s live show. Jon Caramanica, a critic for The New York Times, said in a review of the first concert in March that the Eras Tour put on display “how many pivots Swift has undertaken in her career, and how the accompanying risks can have wildly different consequences.”

The trade publication Pollstar has estimated that the singer sold about $14 million in tickets for each show so far. By the end of next year, the 146 stadium dates could reach $1.4 billion or more in sales.

Where To Watch the 10 Best Michael Bay Movies, Ranked

From Bad Boys to Transformers , Michael Bay is the director behind some of the most well-known action franchises and film series. While critics often erroneously reduce his work to little more than explosions and formulaic action heroes, Bay’s craftsmanship and technical filmmaking skills are paralleled by few in the industry. All of his films have a distinct style and demonstrate a sophisticated understanding of every aspect of filmmaking, from set scenery to camera speed and angles.

For those interested in the films that best illustrate Bay’s skill as a director, this guide will explore his 10 best movies and where to watch them.

In recent years, Bay has shifted more to producing. He is the producer behind two of the year's most-anticipated movies: A Quiet Place: Day One and Transformers One . For the purposes of this article, though, we’ll be focusing on the films that gained him prominence as a director.

One of Michael Bay’s most enduring films is the one that started his career: Bad Boys . The 1995 buddy cop comedy starring Will Smith and Martin Lawrence earned praise for its frantic pace, the dynamic between Smith and Lawrence, the extended action sequences, and the hilarious tale of two reckless detectives searching for missing narcotics. It was a substantial enough commercial success to earn three sequels, although Bay only returned to direct Bad Boys II , which further ramped up the action, dark humor, and stunning visual effects.

After his directorial debut, Bay followed up with arguably the best film of his career, The Rock . Boasting a stacked cast including Nicolas Cage and Sean Connery, the film tells the thrilling story of an Alcatraz break-in. It boasts some of the most extravagant action sequences of any Bay movie and runs at a pace that keeps the adrenaline pumping for every minute of its runtime.

Meanwhile, Pain & Gain and 13 Hours: The Secret Soldiers of Benghazi are notable as Bay’s most mature and sophisticated movies. Pain & Gain, starring Mark Wahlberg , Anthony Mackie, and Dwayne Johnson , sees Bay expertly craft his filmmaking to convey the satirical and dark tone of the story, while 13 Hours thrillingly and heartbreakingly captures the 2012 Benghazi attacks.

Bay’s penchant for groundbreaking visual effects and larger-than-life action plots was also well-suited for the exhilarating and visually stunning Transformers. At the same time, his love of breakneck pacing elevated the Jake Gyllenhaal -led Ambulance to one unforgettable car chase thriller.

If you’re looking for more unforgettable action thrillers in Bay’s signature filmmaking style, read on for his ten best movies, ranked from the best.

Next month, Will Smith and Martin Lawrence will reprise their roles as Mike and Marcus in Bad Boys: Ride or Die . It will be the fourth film in the franchise and the latest entry in the series since the finale of the spin-off show LA’s Finest in late 2020. If you want to find out where to watch every Bad Boys movie, check out our list below.

The first Bad Boys movie premiered in 1995, and on top of being a blockbuster hit for Smith and Lawrence, it also served as the breakout role for actress Téa Leoni. In the film, Smith and Lawrence play two police detectives in Miami who are trying to find a massive cache of heroin that’s been stolen from the department’s evidence locker. Things get even more complicated when they’re forced to provide protection for a woman who witnessed a mob hit. The movie grossed almost $66 million in North America alone, making it a bona fide hit.

Thanks to the home rental market, the film continued to be popular, and in 2003 it received a sequel: Bad Boys 2 . This time around, Smith and Lawrence were joined by more famous faces like Gabrielle Union and Michael Shannon. In the film, Mike and Marcus are investigating a drug trafficking ring and Mike is secretly seeing Marcus’ younger sister Syd (Union). But neither of the guys know that Syd is actually an undercover agent for the DEA. The dynamic between the three stars really helped keep the sequel feeling fresh and the movie became a smash hit, grossing more than $273 million at the box office.

The franchise then went dormant for almost 20 years, returning in 2019 with the spin-off series LA’s Finest . In the show, Union reprises her role as Syd and is joined by Jessica Alba who plays her partner at the LAPD. Sadly, the show premiered as a Spectrum Original back when the cable company was attempting to create original content. With hardly anyone knowing about the service or what Spectrum was, the show suffered from poor viewership. Just three years later, Spectrum announced it wouldn’t produce more shows after its handful of original series all performed poorly. The good news is that LA’s Finest has been given a second life on other streaming services.

In 2020, Bad Boys finally returned for a third film with Bad Boys for Life . Mike and Marcus return and encounter a vengeful enemy from their past who is hellbent on avenging his father (who was sent to prison after being caught by the duo). Released in January 2020, Bad Boys for Life was one of the only major blockbusters to be released in 2020 before the COVID pandemic shut down theaters around the world. The movie continued performing well in cinemas even through the weekend of March 7-8, just a few days before lockdown began. Still, despite COVID, Bad Boys for Life remains the highest-grossing film in the franchise, earning an impressive $426 million.

Where to Watch Guillermo del Toro’s Best Movies and TV Shows

Where to Watch Guillermo del Toro’s Best Movies and TV Shows

Filmmaker Guillermo del Toro is known for many things – he’s noted for his unique style that often takes inspiration from dark fairytales. He’s also an integral figure in the horror genre thanks to his numerous horror films (plus, he often cites classic horror movies as his inspirations), and in more recent years, he’s become known as an award-winning director who isn’t just popular with genre fans, but who can hold his own against the Hollywood greats.

If you want to watch del Toro’s best movies and TV shows, use our guide below to find out where they are streaming.

Guillermo del Toro’s trademark film is easily Pan’s Labyrinth . While it wasn’t del Toro’s first movie, it was the first to earn him international acclaim. In the film, a young girl escapes her domineering stepfather by entering into a fairytale world…but not everything about the realm is good. She encounters both light and dark, good and bad, and friends and enemies. The movie was lauded for its gorgeous visuals and raw, emotional story. At the 79th Oscars, Pan’s Labyrinth received six nominations and won three awards, including for Best Cinematography.

But long before Pan’s Labyrinth, one of del Toro’s earliest hits was the sci-fi horror film Mimic . The movie takes place in New York City, where a deadly disease spread by cockroaches is killing hundreds of children. To stop the spread, scientists bioengineer a new bug that secretes a toxin that kills off the cockroaches. But some years later, the new bugs have continued to evolve and are now hunting humans. Though a moderate success in theaters, Mimic became a huge hit in the rental market and is now a cult classic among horror fans.

More recently, the film that most fans know del Toro for is The Shape of Water . At the 90th Oscars, the movie was nominated for a whopping 13 awards and won two major categories: Best Director for del Toro and Best Picture. The film centers around a lonely employee of a secret government facility during the Cold War. One day she discovers that the compound is hiding a dark secret… a mysterious sea creature that’s being kept trapped in a tank. Heavily inspired by Creature from the Black Lagoon, the movie took horror elements and blended them with a love story.

del Toro also used his love of monsters to create another hit movie: Pacific Rim . Heavily inspired by Godzilla and other Japanese monster movies, the film sees humanity fight off towering monsters known as kaijus using giant mechs called jaegers. Stylistically, it’s pretty different from most of del Toro’s films, but it very much plays into the filmmaker’s love of classic monster movies. For fans of the MonsterVerse , Pacific Rim is a must-watch.

Where To Watch Every DC Animated Movie in Order

Where To Watch Every DC Animated Movie in Order

Most viewers are familiar with the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). However, if one wants to dive even deeper into the world of DC Comics, consider exploring the enormous collection of DC animated movies. Animated film adaptations of DC Comics have been produced since 1993, with multiple cinematic universes and continuities being developed over the years. Delving into the vast collection may be daunting to newcomers, but this guide will break down where to watch every DC animated movie in order.

The oldest shared universe is the DC Animated Universe (DCAU), which kicked off in 1992 with the TV show Batman: The Animated Series . The series soon inspired the theatrical film Batman: Mask of Phantasm in 1993, with Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill reprising their roles as Bruce Wayne (a.k.a. Batman ) and The Joker, respectively. Ultimately, the DCAU continuity would consist of eight films, including the critically acclaimed Batman Beyond: Return of the Joker .

While the DCAU was the first continuity, another major universe that has sprung up is the DC Animated Movie Universe (DCAMU). It is one of the largest continuities, consisting of 17 movies, beginning with Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox . The film is a unique crossover film that sees the return of voice actors like Conroy’s Batman and Nathan Fillion’s Green Lantern while introducing some new voice actors, including Michael B. Jordan as Victor Stone.

All 17 movies in the DCAMU are loosely based on the New 52 storylines from the comics, which explore the rebooted DC timeline following Flashpoint. It heavily focuses on the Justice League, Batman, and Batman’s son, Damian. Some of its most well-received films include  Batman vs. Robin , Batman: Bad Blood , The Death of Superman , and Justice League Dark: Apokolips War .

Another large universe is Origins, a group of movies that aren’t necessarily interconnected but are lumped together because, as the title suggests, they focus on DC heroes’ origin stories. Origins comprises 14 movies, including Batman: Year One and Wonder Woman (2009). Then, there are many standalone films that don’t belong to any specific universe but are based on DC Comics. These movies can be pretty fun, such as Batman vs. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and The Batman vs. Dracula , since they’re not confined to any one continuity. Like Origins, these largely non-related standalone films are grouped into their own universe: Animated Elseworlds.

There are also two smaller universes known as the Tomorrowverse and Arkhamverse. Tomorrowverse is the successor to the DCAMU, while the Arhamverse consists of one movie and the Batman: Arkham video game series.

How to watch the DC Animated Movies in Order

You can either watch DC animated movies by universe or by release date. Given the multiple continuities, watching by universe is the closest one can get to chronological order. Meanwhile, there’s no set order to watch the universes in. However, it’s largely agreed upon Origins is the best to start with since it introduces so many DC heroes. Afterward, we recommend going with the more recent DCAMU before moving on to the three smaller universes and concluding with the standalone movies in Elseworlds.

Find out how to view the movies by universe below, followed by how to stream them in release date order.

Where To Watch the Men in Black Movies in Order

Where To Watch the Men in Black Movies in Order

Men in Black is over 25 years old yet still remains a sci-fi cult classic. The ‘90s movie kicked off a film series as well as a contemporary spinoff. For those interested in the memorable franchise, which still has the potential to expand, this guide will demonstrate where and how to stream the Men in Black franchise in order.

The franchise began as a comic book series from Aircel Comics, which is now owned by Marvel Comics . The comics were inspired by the Men in Black (MIB) conspiracy theory, which posits that secret government agents use tactics like memory-wiping to prevent knowledge of UFOs or other extraterrestrial occurrences from reaching the public. In 1997, director Barry Sonnenfeld and writer Ed Solomon put a comedic spin on the MIB theory.

Men in Black sees Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones take on the roles of Agent J and Agent K, respectively, as they navigate the extraterrestrial-investigating titular organization and form a close bond while saving the world. The movie was a major critical and commercial hit, with its witty script, palpable chemistry between Smith and Lee, and stunning blend of practical effects and CG elements.

By 2002, Men in Black II arrived on the big screen, with Smith and Jones reprising their iconic roles. Rosario Dawson , Johnny Knoxville, Rip Torn, and Michael Jackson also appeared in the film. Once again, it was a significant box office hit, though it suffered from mixed critical reviews for veering too close to the original story.

Fortunately, Men in Black 3 got the series back on track by introducing a time-traveling element. Agent J travels back in time to save Agent K’s life. In the process, he meets the young Agent K (Josh Brolin) from the 1960s. Although it was a well-made, refreshing, and humorous sci-fi movie, it didn’t quite eclipse the original. Still, the moderate critical and box office success should’ve been enough to move forward with Men in Black 4.

Instead, the franchise was rebooted in 2019 with the spinoff Men in Black: International . The film did not feature Smith or Jones; instead, it introduced two new agents, Agent H ( Chris Hemsworth ) and Agent M (Tessa Thompson), as they investigated a mole in the agency. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the same without Smith and Jones, with many feeling the spinoff and reboot weren’t necessary, resulting in mostly negative reviews.

So far, no news has arisen of further movies in the franchise, although its success and enduring legacy mean the door is never wholly closed on Men in Black 4.

For those interested in diving into the memorable sci-fi series, here’s how to watch the Men in Black franchise in release date order, including the animated series (although it's not canon to the movies).

The Best Luca Guadagnino Movies to Watch After Challengers (And Where to Stream Them)

The Best Luca Guadagnino Movies to Watch After Challengers (And Where to Stream Them)

Challengers has become one of the hottest movies of the spring thanks to a great performance from Zendaya and the bubbling queer sexual tension that director Luca Guadagnino is so famous for. If you loved the pulpy, exciting melodrama of Challengers , check out our guide below to find out where you can watch more of Guadagnino’s best movies and TV shows.

Luca Guadagnino began his career in Italy and has directed everything from commercials to music videos, documentaries, short films, and feature-length movies. His first major hit around the globe was 2009’s I Am Love . An official selection at the Sundance, Berlin, Venice, and Toronto film festivals, the movie centers around a woman (Tilda Swinton) who begins a new life in Italy and marries into a wealthy family. But soon, she begins having an affair with one of her son’s friends. Filled with sexual tension, lies, and lust, the movie is salacious and captivating.

Arguably the most famous Guadagnino film is Call Me By Your Name . In the film, a 24-year-old (Armie Hammer) arrives in Italy to help a professor with a project during the early ‘80s. Soon, he begins to fall in love with the professor’s 17-year-old son ( Timothée Chalamet ). The film received praise for its sexual tension and emotional exploration of what life was like for closeted men who fall in love. Call Me By Your Name received ample amounts of praise and was even nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Chalamet would team up with the director again a few years later for Bones and All .

Guadagnino also directed the 2018 remake of Suspiria , a film about a reclusive German dance school that’s actually run by a coven of bloodthirsty witches. Despite being a horror movie, Suspiria was praised for its cinematography and gorgeous visuals. It also had an all-star cast that included Tilda Swinton, Mia Goth, and Dakota Johnson .

9 Best Tennis Movies to Watch After Challengers (and Where to Stream Them)

9 Best Tennis Movies to Watch After Challengers (and Where to Stream Them)

Maybe it’s because it stars Zendaya , or perhaps it’s the now-infamous ménage à trois scene, but Challengers has stolen the spotlight as one of the buzziest movies of the spring. If you liked it, check out our guide below to discover more great tennis movies you can watch right now. From a biopic starring Emma Stone to a Kirsten Dunst rom-com, and more.

What are some of the best tennis movies?

If you want to watch a great tennis movie, one of the most notable is 2017’s  Battle of the Sexes . The film tells the true story of when Billie Jean King played a match against tennis legend Bobby Riggs. King ended up beating Riggs, which became a monumental event in the tennis world, proving that women could hold their own against the men and should be taken seriously in the sport. Emma Stone played King and Steve Carrell portrayed Riggs. In 2001, a made-for-TV movie called When Billie Beat Bobby covered the same event, this time with Holly Hunter portraying King. The movie was well-received and Hunter even earned an Emmy nomination for her role.

Another high-profile tennis biopic is 2021’s King Richard , which starred Will Smith as Richard Williams, the father of tennis superstars Venus and Serena. The movie follows the Williams sisters as they grow up under the watchful eye of their dad who is determined to turn them into tennis pros, no matter how hard it might be. The film was nominated for six Oscars, with Smith winning for Best Actor. However, that same night Smith had the infamous “Oscars slap” incident and was promptly banned from the Academy Awards for a decade.

For a more romanticized tennis film, check out 2004’s Wimbledon . The movie stars Kirsten Dunst and Paul Bettany as two tennis players at Wimbledon. Bettany is a fading star, while Dunst is a rising tennis competitor. The two meet, sparks fly, drama is had, and the duo must navigate how to win their matches despite all the distractions of their relationship. The movie was loaded with other stars too, like Sam Neill and Jon Favreau.

Another movie set in Wimbledon is 7 Days in Hell . The film is based on the unbelievably true story of the longest match in tennis history. Played in 2010 between John Isner and Nicolas Mahut, a series of constant ties forced the game to be played for more than 11 hours over three days. The movie starred Andy Samberg and Kit Harington as two fictitious tennis players (who are based on Isner and Mahut) who get locked into a neverending tennis match.

The 10 Best Jason Momoa Films, Ranked (And Where To Watch Them)

The 10 Best Jason Momoa Films, Ranked (And Where To Watch Them)

Jason Momoa has quickly become one of the most recognizable actors in Hollywood, boasting roles in numerous high-profile franchises, including Dune , the DCEU , Game of Thrones , and Fast & Furious. He will also star in the Minecraft movie next year alongside Jack Black . For viewers who wish to acquaint themselves with Momoa’s work before his next projects arrive, this guide will rank his ten best movies and detail where to watch them.

Momoa’s first major film role was as the titular character in Conan the Barbarian (2011), a reimagining of the film of the same name starring Arnold Schwarzenegger . While Momoa’s acting was praised, the movie itself was a critical and commercial failure. Fortunately, Conan the Barbarian didn’t derail his career.

He bounced back with the underrated Bullet to the Head in 2012, where he proved his skill as an action star alongside Sylvester Stallone . However, it wasn’t until 2018 that he had his breakthrough with Aquaman .

Aquaman became the DCEU’s highest-grossing film to date, surpassing $1 billion at the box office. Momoa received high praise for embodying the half-human, half-Atlantean superhero Arthur Curry. He reprised his role as Curry in Zack Snyder’s Justice League , as well as Aquaman’s sequel Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom , which failed to match the success of its predecessor.

Momoa also starred in Braven in 2018, elevating the film beyond a typical action-thriller with his emotional and fierce performance as a man desperate to save his family.

By 2021, Momoa had joined another major franchise when he appeared in Denis Villeneuve ’s critically acclaimed Dune . He held his own alongside A-list actors like Timothée Chalamet and Oscar Isaac while portraying Duncan Idaho, one of Paul Atreides’ most beloved mentors.

The following year, he debuted in the Fast & Furious series as Dante Reyes in Fast X . Despite the film receiving mixed reviews, Momoa’s unhinged villain role received unanimous praise, marking one of his career-best performances.

Ranking his movies is a bit difficult as some of his best performances were in movies that weren’t very well-received by critics. Hence, this list considers both the quality and significance of his role in each film, as well as the film's overall quality.

Here are Jason Momoa’s ten best performances, ranked from the best, and where to stream them online.

Where To Watch Every Marvel TV Show in Order

Where To Watch Every Marvel TV Show in Order

Marvel has recently been expanding its small screen presence through several Disney+ original series, which are canon to the Marvel Cinematic Universe . More Marvel TV series are on the way, including some, like Daredevil: Born Again , that tie into Marvel’s pre-Disney+ era. For those looking to catch up on every Marvel-based TV show, this guide will demonstrate where and how to watch all the series in order.

The Marvel shows canon to the MCU began with the Disney+ series WandaVision in 2021. However, there were several important Marvel series before 2021 — they just weren’t produced by Marvel Studios. Marvel’s live-action TV presence started with ABC’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. in 2013, which ran for seven seasons and achieved high critical acclaim. Although not considered canon to the MCU, it does center on Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg), an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. who first appeared in Iron Man . MCU star Samuel L. Jackson also appears as Nick Fury in the series.

The success of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. led ABC to greenlight Agent Carter , another non-canon spinoff focused on the MCU character Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell). Despite receiving stellar reviews, Agent Carter was canceled after two seasons. Meanwhile, the third ABC series, Inhumans , also faced speedy cancellation after being critically panned.

Netflix also invested in several Marvel series from 2015 to 2019. The streamer created what is known as the Defenders saga, consisting of six interconnected series. Of the series, the most critically acclaimed were Daredevil and Jessica Jones . Charlie Cox’s performance as Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio’s performance as Kingpin were so beloved that Marvel decided to integrate the characters into the MCU, despite the Defenders series technically not being canon. Cox and D’Onofrio will soon star in the Daredevil reboot Daredevil: Born Again. Hulu, FX, Fox, and Freeform have also briefly dabbled in Marvel series, with shows like Runaways and Cloak & Dagger .

By 2021, the MCU decided to move to the small screen with the Emmy-winning WandaVision, which saw Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany reprise their roles as the Scarlet Witch and Vision, respectively. In total, the MCU has released ten original Disney+ series. Of those series, What If…? and the Tom Hiddleston -led Loki were popular enough to warrant season 2 renewals. Future series include Agatha , Ironheart , and Eyes of Wakanda.

It’s impossible to watch every Marvel series in chronological order, given that not all of them occur in the same universe. Hence, the best way to watch is in the order of release date. See below for where to watch every live-action or MCU canon Marvel TV show (and TV special) in release date order.

Where To Watch Every Movie in the After Series in Order

Where To Watch Every Movie in the After Series in Order

The After film series is set to expand soon, with a prequel and fifth sequel reportedly in development. Based on the book series of the same name by Anna Todd, the movies have garnered attention for dramatically capturing a complicated modern college romance. For those interested in catching up on the series before the prequel, Before, releases, this guide will demonstrate where and how to watch every After movie in order.

After  premiered in 2019 and featured Josephine Langford in the lead role of Tessa Young. Hero Fiennes Tiffin, Ralph Fiennes's nephew, starred opposite Langford as Hardin Scott. Fiennes Tiffin had previously portrayed young Tom Riddle in the Harry Potter film series . After follows Tessa, an innocent freshman college student who finds her life upended by Hardin, the manipulative and selfish “bad boy” she finds herself inexplicably falling for.

The movie received mixed reviews, as it drew criticism for being a rather generic romance but was praised for its drama and beautiful cinematography. It was also a hit at the box office, earning nearly $70 million worldwide on a budget of just $14 million.

Hence, a sequel, After We Collided , soon arrived. Langford and Fiennes Tiffin reprise their roles as the young lovers who re-enter a tumultuous relationship after regretting their breakup. It received slightly more negative reviews than the first. Still, it was a comparable commercial success to the original, resulting in three more sequels: After We Fell , After Ever Happy , and After Everything .

However, critical and commercial reception continued to fall, with After We Fell and After Ever Happy receiving a score of 0% on Rotten Tomatoes and box office earnings dropping to around $20 million. Still, After Everything was greenlit. It was the first movie to boast an original story outside of Todd’s books and was advertised as the final film in the series. Although it received a limited theatrical release, it made $10 million at the box office and received relatively favorable audience reviews.

Soon, After Everything director Castille Landon confirmed the movie wasn’t the last chapter in the series, as a prequel was in development. Additionally, another untitled sequel is in development, inspired by the epilogue of the After Ever Happy book, which will focus on Hardin’s and Tessa’s children. It is believed the prequel and sequel will be the first movies without Langford or Fiennes Tiffin.

For those interested in catching up with the series before the prequel and sequel, here is where to watch the After movies in release date order.

Where To Watch Every Pixar Animation Studios Movie in Order

Where To Watch Every Pixar Animation Studios Movie in Order

Pixar Animation Studios is one of the most influential and successful animation studios of all time, having made unparalleled contributions to the film industry in computer animation. The studio has produced 27 feature films and is gearing up to expand its film slate with Inside Out 2 , which is set to release on June 14, and is one of the most highly anticipated films of 2024 . Read on to discover where to stream every Pixar Animation Studios film.

Pixar began as a part of Lucasfilm’s Computer Division. Under Lucasfilm, it created the first wholly computer-animated sequence in a feature film by designing a scene where a planet transforms in Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan . By 1986, Steve Jobs bought the Computer Division and formed it into the independent company Pixar, which quickly began collaborating with Disney.

Out of Pixar and Disney’s collaboration, the very first computer-animated feature film, Toy Story , was born. The computer-animated movie was released in 1995 and explored a world where toys like Woody ( Tom Hanks ) and Buzz Lightyear (Tim Allen) come to life. It was like nothing viewers had ever seen before and quickly became the most important film of its kind, setting a precedent for further computer-animated features.

Since then, Pixar has stayed on top of the computer animation field, with every film boasting cutting-edge technology, innovation, and creativity. Nearly every Pixar film has achieved high critical acclaim, but a few stand out especially. Finding Nemo took home the studio's first Best Animated Feature win at the Oscars, while The Incredibles was the first wholly animated film to earn the Hugo Award for Best Dramatic Presentation.

Cars became a profitable trilogy and introduced Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), one of the most iconic and recognizable Pixar characters. Meanwhile, the emotional and adventurous Up became the first Pixar film and second animated film in history to be nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars. Toy Story 3 soon became the third animated film to earn a Best Picture nomination and broke $1 billion at the box office.

Its movies have only become more sophisticated, with films like Inside Out , Coco , Soul , and Turning Red seeking to celebrate girlhood and other cultures and exploring concepts like grief and mortality. With Inside Out 2 poised to explore emotions in puberty and raise awareness for struggles with anxiety in adolescence, the studio could be adding another critically acclaimed film to its slate.

For those looking to catch up on Pixar’s movies before Inside Out 2, here is how to watch them in release date order from oldest to newest.

Where to Watch the Entire Sonic Cinematic Universe in Order

Where to Watch the Entire Sonic Cinematic Universe in Order

Sonic is the ultimate hero and the undefeated underdog. He single-handedly saved SEGA in the '90s, and when the first trailer for his live-action 2020 film debuted, it became the center of jokes and memes thanks to Sonic’s terrifyingly real animation. But after the movie received tons of praise from audiences and grossed more than $319 million at the box office, one thing became clear: Sonic is no joke. Check out our guide to find out where you can watch every movie and show in the Sonic Cinematic Universe in order. We'll also show you if there are options to watch Sonic movies legally for free in the United States.

What is the Sonic Cinematic Universe?

A lot of fans are probably wondering what exactly the “Sonic cinematic universe” is. It’s all the films, shows, and shorts that take place in the new live-action era of Sonic. Believe it or not, Sonic has actually had quite a few shows throughout his three decades – like  Sonic the Hedgehog (1993), Sonic Underground (1999), and Sonic X (2003). So it’s important to differentiate that the new franchise doesn’t include those older entries.

So, where does the Sonic Cinematic Universe start? That would be with 2020’s Sonic the Hedgehog , where Sonic uses a golden ring to transport himself to Earth. But once Dr. Robotnik discovers his location, Sonic is forced to escape with the help of his new friend (played excellently by James Marsden).

Thanks to the movie’s success, it was followed by  Sonic the Hedgehog 2 in 2022. This time around, Dr. Robotnik is back for revenge and audiences get to see more iconic Sonic characters brought to life like Knuckles and Tails. The mid-credits scene also introduces the villainous Shadow, who is going to play a large role in Sonic the Hedgehog 3 later in 2024…and be voiced by none other than Keanu Reeves.

There’s also the spin-off series Knuckles , which premieres at the end of April. The show centers around Knuckles, who helps the dimwitted town sheriff by teaching him the ways of the echidna warriors. The show has a fantastic cast that includes Hollywood veterans like Christopher Lloyd and Stockard Channing, as well as both Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz reprising their roles from the film series. In the franchise’s timeline, Knuckles will fill the gap between Sonic 2 and Sonic 3.

There’s also a non-canonical short film Sonic Drone Home which is technically part of the new Sonic Cinematic Universe as well. The short was released as part of the special features on the Sonic the Hedgehog 2 Blu-Ray and follows Sonic, Knuckles, and Tails as they encounter a (somewhat evil) scrapyard robot who loves poetry. Luckily, the short has been uploaded to YouTube for anyone who wants to watch it.

How can I watch the Sonic Cinematic Universe online?

Where to Watch the Entire Hotel Transylvania Series In Order

Where to Watch the Entire Hotel Transylvania Series In Order

In 2012, Hotel Transylvania became an unexpected hit film. Released at the end of September (one of the worst months for cinemas), the movie ended up grossing over $358 million globally. Since then, three more films and a TV series have been released in the franchise. Check out our guide below to find out where to watch the entire Hotel Transylvania franchise in order.

The original Hotel Transylvania film starred a huge array of Saturday Night Live alums, like Adam Sandler , Andy Samberg, and Molly Shannon, along with other big names like Selena Gomez. The movie centers around a monsters-only hotel in Transylvania run by the vampire (and overprotective single-father), Count Dracula. But everything changes when Johnny, a human, checks into the hotel, unaware of who inhabits it. Things go even more awry when he starts to fall in love with Dracula’s daughter.

Then, in 2015 the sequel Hotel Transylvania 2 began by showing that Johnny and Dracula’s daughter Mavis got married and had a baby. But, questions arise about whether the baby will be a vampire or a human. The entire original cast returned for the sequel, and more comedic actors joined in on the fun too, like Mel Brooks, Nick Offerman, and Megan Mullally. The movie became an even bigger hit than the original, grossing more than $474 million globally.

From 2017-2020, there was also Hotel Transylvania: The Series . The show is actually a prequel to the first movie and follows a younger Mavis who has adventures throughout the hotel with her friends. The animated series had a different voice cast from the films and ran for 52 episodes. For hardcore fans of the franchise it’s a fun addition to watch, but seeing the show isn’t necessary to enjoy the films.

In Hotel Transylvania 3: Summer Vacation , the gang desperately needs a vacation, so they book a cruise. Little do they know, the infamous vampire hunter Van Helsing is onboard along with his great-granddaughter Ericka. But, despite the Van Helsings' desire to kill Dracula… Ericka finds herself falling in love. Once again, the entire main cast reprised their roles, this time joined by newcomers like Chrissy Teigen and Kathryn Hahn.

The fourth film, Hotel Transylvania: Transformania , was released as an Amazon Prime exclusive in 2022. True to the movie’s title, this time around all the humans become monsters and vice versa. The only way for Johnny and Dracula to turn back to their old selves is to finally love each other and see each other as family.

Currently, there’s no news about a potential fifth film (though there are a bunch of fake fan-made trailers on YouTube). Hopefully fans will get a fifth installment, but until then, check out our guide below to find out where you can stream all four Hotel Transylvania movies and the prequel series.

How to Watch The Matrix Movies in Order (and Where to Watch Them)

How to Watch The Matrix Movies in Order (and Where to Watch Them)

In this guide, we’ll show you how to watch The Matrix franchise in order and show you where you can watch them on popular streaming services in the United States. We’ll also let you know if there are options to stream The Matrix movies legally for free.

In 1999, The Matrix became an overnight sensation when the directorial duo Lana and Lilly Wachowski unveiled their kung fu science fiction classic to the world. Starring Keanu Reeves as Neo, Carrie-Anne Moss as Trinity and Laurence Fishburne as Morpheus, this groundbreaking movie grossed $460 million worldwide at the box office on a $63 million budget. This marked the beginning of an ongoing blockbuster franchise that is still beloved by fans today.

The Matrix franchise now includes a trilogy ( The Matrix , The Matrix Reloaded , The Matrix Revolutions ), an anthology of anime short films ( The Animatrix ) and a soft meta-reboot ( The Matrix Resurrections ). There are also tentative plans for an upcoming fifth installment by Warner Bros. Whether you’re watching The Matrix for the first time or rewatching the classic sci-fi franchise, this guide shows you where to watch them all online and the different viewing orders (release vs chronological).

How to watch The Matrix movies in order

If you only want to watch The Matrix feature-length movies, you can watch them chronologically in exactly the same way they were released.

The Matrix (1999)

The Matrix Reloaded (2003)

The Matrix Revolutions (2003)

The Matrix: Resurrections (2021)

This is a great viewing order if you are new to the franchise and want to enjoy the main storyline without getting overwhelmed by the franchise’s expanded universe of short films and canonical video games. However, the Wachowskis and Warner Bros. have always been ambitious when expanding The Matrix as a multimedia franchise. They have released several canonical stories in video games (Enter the Matrix, The Matrix Online and Path of Neo) and The Animatrix. In particular, The Animatrix offers some of the franchise’s best storylines that you won’t want to miss. So, if you’re ready to ‘take the red pill’ and go deeper, here’s how to watch the franchise in its entirety.

How to watch entire The Matrix franchise in chronological order

While watching the Matrix movies in order isn’t too complicated, this becomes more difficult if you want to watch the entire story unfold in every movie, short film and video game. Technically, The Matrix video games Enter the Matrix, The Path of Neo and The Matrix Online are all canonical, so we’ve included these in our complete Matrix timeline. Similarly, the short films included in The Animatrix anthology take place at various times throughout the story.

The Animatrix: The Second Renaissance, Part I and II

The Animatrix: A Detective Story

The Animatrix: Kid's Story

The Animatrix: Final Flight of the Osiris

Enter the Matrix – Video game

The Matrix Reloaded

The Matrix Revolutions

The Matrix: Path of Neo – Video game

The Matrix Online: The Matrix Online – Video game

The Animatrix: Beyond

The Matrix: Resurrections

The Animatrix: World Record – Exact timeframe unknown

The Animatrix: Matriculated – Exact timeframe unknown

The Animatrix: Program – Exact timeframe unknown

The Animatrix: The Second Renaissance, Part I and II takes place during the human/machine war in the mid-21st century. According to Morpheus’ estimations, everything from The Animatrix: A Detective Story until The Animatrix: Beyond then takes place circa 2199. The Matrix: Resurrections picks up the story 18 years later. Three Animatrix shorts have no discernable timeframe, so the best option is to watch those last.

The Matrix documentaries

The Matrix Revisited (2001)

Another important release for Matrix completists is The Matrix Revisited. This 2001 documentary shows the making of the first movie in 1999, revealing how many of the stunts were performed and explaining the movie’s revolutionary CGI techniques.

Where To Watch Every Fifty Shades of Grey Movie in Order

Where To Watch Every Fifty Shades of Grey Movie in Order

Shortly after becoming one of the fastest-selling adult paperbacks of all time, E. L. James’ Fifty Shades of Grey earned a film adaptation . The film was a major commercial success, leading to the whole book series being adapted into a movie trilogy. This guide will demonstrate where and how viewers can watch and stream the entire Fifty Shades of Grey series in order.

The first movie in the series, Fifty Shades of Grey , premiered in 2015, starring Dakota Johnson in the lead role of Anastasia “Ana” Steele and Jamie Dornan in the role of Christian Grey. It is often credited with kickstarting both Johnson and Dornan’s careers. Like the book, the film follows Ana’s experiences as she finds herself falling for the billionaire businessman Christian, though his interest in BDSM complicates their relationship.

Similar to the books, Fifty Shades of Grey received mixed-to-negative reviews but was a major commercial hit, grossing $381 million on a budget of $55 million. Although many disagree on the movie’s quality and how it chooses to frame BDSM, it has garnered widespread attention for tackling topics considered “taboo” and highlighting women’s sexuality.

Hence, it wasn’t long before the sequel, Fifty Shades Darker , was greenlit, with Johnson and Dornan returning. Luke Grimes and Rita Ora also returned to reprise their roles as Mia and Elliott Grey, respectively. Anticipation for this movie was relatively high, especially since James’ husband, Niall Leonard, signed on to write the script. The sequel sees the story heat up as Christian’s past comes back to haunt him while he tries to rekindle his relationship with Ana. Although Fifty Shades Darker received even poorer reviews than the original, earning just an 11% score on Rotten Tomatoes, it matched the original’s commercial success.

In 2018, the final movie in the series, Fifty Shades Freed , premiered. Johnson, Dornan, Grimes, and Ora returned while Leonard wrote the script again. The plot allows viewers to see the culmination of Christian and Ana’s relationship. Like its predecessor, the final film was also critically panned but proved a box office success. Despite its mixed reception, the series’ subject matter ensures the conversation and interest around it remains ongoing.

For viewers wishing to delve into the erotica series, here is where to watch it in order. There is only one viewing order, as the chronological and release date orders are the same.

Where to Watch Every Mad Max Movie in Order

Where to Watch Every Mad Max Movie in Order

Just in time for the upcoming release of Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga , check out our guide below to find out where you can watch every Mad Max movie in order (and discover whether the saga actually has a chronological order or not).

The first Mad Max film premiered in 1979 and was set in a near-future dystopian Australia where society has collapsed due to oil shortages and widespread ecocide. Max Rockatansky works for the only remaining law enforcement agency in the country, the Main Force Patrol, and he’s tasked with roaming the wasteland to hopefully bring as much justice as he can.

The sequel Mad Max 2 , released two years later in 1981, sees Max discover a small community living in a village built around a working oil rig. After noticing the village is constantly attacked, he tries to strike a deal: protect them in exchange for fuel.

The third film Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome has become arguably the most iconic. It starred Tina Turner as Aunty Entity, the leader of Bartertown, an outpost that gets its power from an underground refinery. But the ruler of the underworld wants to overthrow Entity…so she enlists Max to help take down her rival.

The franchise went dormant until 2015 when Mad Max: Fury Road premiered to rave reviews. This time around, Max is played by Tom Hardy and he joins forces with Imperator Furiosa (Charlize Theron) who seeks to free a group of imprisoned “wives” and lead them to freedom.

Mad Max director George Miller has never been clear on whether Fury Road is a sequel or a reboot. “Well, they’re not really connected in any very strict way,” Miller told Den of Geek in 2015. “They were all standalone films in many, many ways.”

What we do know is that the upcoming Furiosa is a prequel to Fury Road and portrays a younger Imperator Furiosa, played by Anya Taylor-Joy. However, it seems that aside from knowing it’s a prequel to Fury Road, where or how the two films fit in with the original trilogy remains a mystery. But the most likely order to watch the movies chronologically would be the following.

How to watch the Mad Max franchise in chronological order

  • Mad Max (1979)
  • Max Mad 2: The Road Warrior (1981)
  • Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985)
  • Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga (2024)
  • Mad Max: Fury Road (2015)

There’s also another Mad Max sequel in the works titled Mad Max: The Wasteland. The film is still in the early stages of development, but it appears to be a sequel to Fury Road and will see Hardy reprise his role. Until then, check out our guide below to find out where to stream every Mad Max movie so far.

Where To Watch Every Disney Live-Action Remake in Order

Where To Watch Every Disney Live-Action Remake in Order

Recently, Walt Disney Studios has been ramping up its remake strategy. The studio is capitalizing on the enduring legacies of its biggest animated classics, such as Beauty and the Beauty , Peter Pan , and Pinocchio , by remaking them in live-action. These remakes have been extremely successful at the box office, appealing to older audiences through nostalgia while giving younger audiences a chance to experience the magic of seeing Disney's iconic stories on the big screen for the first time. In this guide, you can find out how to watch every live action Disney remake on streaming services in the United States.

Disney began dabbling in remakes in the 1990s with Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book , 101 Dalmatians , The Jungle Book: Mowgli’s Story , and 102 Dalmatians . However, the studio only distributed (but did not produce) Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book, while Mowgli's Story was a direct-to-video release. Hence, the studio’s first big live-action adaptation success was  One Hundred and One Dalmatians , which grossed $320.7 at the box office on a $67 million budget.

The studio waited until 2010 to release another remake, starting with Tim Burton's  Alice in Wonderland . Technology advancements meant the studio could truly capture the full scale of the classics. Disney then picked up the frequency with which it released live action remakes.

Beauty and the Beast (2017) is one of the biggest standout remakes. Emma Watson and Dan Stevens bring Belle and Beast to life in an enchanting, magical movie with lavish details and beautifully crafted songs. It also became one of the highest-grossing movies of all time, solidifying the appeal of live action Disney remakes.

The studio also released  The Jungle Book and The Lion King . While these remakes were CGI-heavy, the special effects were so lifelike that it’s difficult to label them as “animated,” especially since The Jungle Book had a prominent human component in actor Neel Sethi, who brought Mowgli to life.

Disney has gotten creative with its remakes in other ways, too, such as with Christopher Robin and Cruella , which are adaptations of Winnie the Pooh and One Hundred and One Dalmations, respectively. Instead of being straightforward adaptations, they were live-action reimaginings that probed the iconic villain Cruella’s ( Emma Stone ) origins and the life of an adult Christopher Robin (Ewan McGregor).

Following the recent success of the Halle Bailey-led The Little Mermaid , Disney is developing more live action remakes of their own classics, with  Snow White and the Seven Dwarves and Moana on the horizon.

Where can I watch live action Disney remakes online?

Here are all of Disney’s live-action adaptations in release date order, from oldest to newest. In this guide, we've included the latest streaming information so you can easily find where to watch every live action Disney remake. You can also use JustWatch to find out which movies are available to stream legally for free.

How to Watch Pitch Perfect Movies in Order – A Streaming Guide

How to Watch Pitch Perfect Movies in Order – A Streaming Guide

Aca-scuse me? If you’re looking to watch the three Pitch Perfect movies and their spin-off series Bumper in Berlin, check out our guide below to find out where you can stream them all.

Pitch Perfect premiered in 2012 and was somewhat of a sleeper hit. The film centered around a struggling college acapella group, the Barden Bellas, who hilariously struggle to return their group to its former glory. It starred Anna Kendrick in what many consider her career-defining role, as well as Brittany Snow, Anna Camp, and Rebel Wilson in her breakout role. Pitch Perfect initially had a limited release, followed by a wide release the following week.

Thanks to social media and word of mouth, the movie gained tons of publicity. While it never topped the box office, it continued to perform well week after week, staying in theaters well into February of the following year. In total, the movie made $115 million on a budget of just $17 million.

The success of the first movie led to a sequel, Pitch Perfect 2 , which premiered in 2015. Now, the Barden Bellas are among the top acapella groups in the world…but after a scandal, the Bellas need to save their reputation and re-earn their glory. The film was an even bigger success than the original, grossing more than $287 million.

A third film, Pitch Perfect 3 , came out in 2017. The Bellas are now graduated and struggling with the monotony of their jobs. But they hatch a plan to reunite and perform at a USO tour overseas. The movie was the biggest and craziest yet, involving global travel and even kidnapping. However, Pitch Perfect 3 received worse reviews than the first two films and remains the final Pitch Perfect movie to date.

But in 2022, the franchise received a spin-off series with Pitch Perfect: Bumper in Berlin . The show follows Bumper, who has been a struggling musician since graduation. But after one of his songs becomes a hit in Germany, he heads to Berlin to hopefully jumpstart his career. The show had a fantastic cast including Adam DeVine who reprised his role as Bumper, along with Sarah Hyland and Jameela Jamil. After initially being renewed for a second season, the 2023 writers’ and actors’ strike ended up causing the show’s cancellation.

Hopefully more Pitch Perfect films are on the way, but until then, find out where to watch all three Pitch Perfect movies and Bumper in Berlin with our guide below.

How to watch the LEGO Movie franchise in order

How to watch the LEGO Movie franchise in order

The LEGO brand is huge, spanning movies, TV series, animated specials, video games, and of course, the iconic block toys. One of the brand’s biggest successes has been The LEGO Movie franchise. While LEGO has produced tons of movies and series, like the various LEGO Star Wars specials on Disney+, The LEGO Movie franchise is its own universe separate from the other LEGO franchises. Check out our guide below to find out how to watch every entry in The LEGO Movie series in order.

The series began in 2014 with The LEGO Movie . Starring Chris Pratt , Elizabeth Banks, and Morgan Freeman, the movie centers around a LEGO city under attack and the heroes who must save it. In the finale, however, it turns out that it was all taking place inside a giant LEGO set-up in a family’s basement. The movie had some surprisingly great humor and became a hit, earning more than $468 million at the box office.

Then, in 2017, the film received two spin-off sequels. First up was The LEGO Batman Movie . Will Arnett reprised his role as Batman and was joined by other stars like Michael Cera as Robin, Zach Galifianakis as the Joker, and Rosario Dawson as Batgirl. In classic DC fashion, Batman must stop Joker’s evil plans…but instead of being gritty like modern Batman movies, the film was loaded with lots of LEGO humor.

Just seven months later, another spin-off hit theaters. The LEGO Ninjago Movie centered around the famous ninja-inspired LEGO brand of the same name. The brand already had the long-running animated TV show Ninjago , which began airing in 2011, but the film is actually considered part of The LEGO Movie universe instead. The plot follows the son of an evil mastermind who does everything in his power to stop his dad from taking over the world.

Also in 2017, the series Unikitty! premiered and followed the fan-favorite character Princess Unikitty from the first film. As an episodical, the show followed the various misadventures and hijinks of the Princess and her fellow inhabitants of the Unikingdom. The show ran for three seasons, airing over 100 episodes.

The most recent addition to the franchise is 2019’s The LEGO Movie 2: The Second Part . This time around, the team faces their biggest threat yet: space invaders destroying everything in sight. The hilarious part is that the space invaders are actually toys from the LEGO Duplo line, which is the brand’s toy collection made for toddlers.

According to Variety, Universal Studios acquired the rights to produce LEGO content in 2020, so more movies are expected sometime in the future. Until then, check out our guide below to find out where you can watch every entry in The LEGO Movie franchise so far.

How To Watch the Game of Thrones Franchise in Order

How To Watch the Game of Thrones Franchise in Order

After an almost two-year hiatus, the Game of Thrones franchise is returning to the screen with House of the Dragon season 2, meaning now is a great time to dive into or revisit the fantasy series. This guide will show you how (and where) to watch the Game of the Thrones franchise in order. This includes which TV show to watch first if you're watching in release or chronological order, and where you can find them on streaming services.

Game of Thrones first started as a book series, A Song of Ice and Fire, by author George R. R. Martin. The series became a New York Times bestseller, with all five books earning Locus Award, Hugo Award, and Nebula Award nominations. However, the vast scope of the story, which spans countless story arcs, characters, continents, and time periods, was initially believed to be impossible to adapt, similar to other sci-fi/fantasy epics like Dune and The Wheel of Time .

Martin, as well as TV writers David Benioff and D. B. Weiss, admitted that the scale of the book series would be impossible to capture in a film adaptation. Hence, Benioff and Weiss decided to go in the direction of an HBO TV series. The show received widespread critical acclaim for its scale, ensemble cast, and complex story. It pulls from all five of Martin’s novels, as well as two of his future novels, for which he provided the outline. Game of Thrones takes place on the fictional continents of Westeros and Essos, following a long political conflict between nine noble houses vying for the throne after years of peace were disrupted by the Targaryen madness. Throughout its eight seasons, it follows a large cast of characters, including Jaime Lannister (Nikolaj Coster-Waldua), Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke), Jon Snow (Kit Harrington), and Arya Stark (Maisie Williams).

Although the show concluded in 2019, it didn’t take long for the prequel series House of the Dragon to arrive. It adapts parts of Martin’s book Fire and Ice and takes place 200 years before Game of Thrones, following House Targaryen when it ruled the Seven Kingdoms. The show has been very well received, earning numerous accolades, including several for the performances of Emma D’Arcy, Milly Alcock, and Matt Smith. Another prequel series, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight , is in development.

How to watch the Game of Thrones franchise in chronological order

  • House of the Dragon
  • A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight (coming late 2025)
  • Game of Thrones

There are two ways to watch The Game of Thrones franchise: chronologically or by release date. For those wishing to watch it chronologically, they would watch season 1 (and eventually season 2) of House of the Dragon which takes place in  101 AC. Then, once released, A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight will take place in 209 AC, between the events of House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones. You can then finally begin watching all eight seasons of Game of Thrones, which begins in 298 AC.

Watching chronologically removes the risks of spoilers for House of the Dragon, but we recommend watching in the release date order below to understand the Game of Thrones world before delving into the prequel.

How to watch the Game of Thrones franchise in release order

Below you can find the entire franchise in release order, including the latest streaming offers for each of George R. R. Martin's fantasy TV shows. How To Watch Every One Piece TV Show and Movie in Order

How To Watch Every One Piece TV Show and Movie in Order

Ever since Netflix dropped season 1 of its live-action One Piece adaptation, the anime franchise has been gaining even more followers. However, newcomers may be daunted, considering the franchise has accumulated 1,000+ episodes, 15 movies, and a live-action series over its nearly 27-year run. Hence, this guide will explain where and how to watch all the One Piece TV shows and films in order.

The One Piece franchise began as a manga series by Eiichiro Oda in 1997, which is still ongoing. Readers were captivated by the story of Monkey D. Luffy, a kind-hearted boy with big dreams whose body gains rubber-like properties after he eats a Devil Fruit. His powers come in handy as he and his gang of Straw Hat Pirates, including Roronoa Zoro, Nami, Sanji, Usopp, and Tony Tony Chopper, search the four seas in pursuit of the fabled One Piece treasure.

Two years after the manga began, the One Piece animated series debuted in Japan. Since then, the anime has been broadcast and streamed worldwide and is currently in its 21st season. By 2000, the very first theatrical film, One Piece: The Movie , premiered. Back then, there were only four Straw Hat crew members, and the show was still in its humble beginnings. So, the movie was essentially an extended episode of One Piece, but today, it is quite charming and nostalgic.

The movie paved the way for fourteen more theatrical films, many of them much larger in scale than the original. Several movies have stood out more than others, such as One Piece Film: Z , which is often hailed as the best movie in the franchise, and One Piece: Strong World , which was an original story from Oda. The movies allowed filmmakers to experiment a bit and introduce the One Piece characters to new genres, such as Baron Omatsuri And The Secret Island, which has a horror vibe, or One Piece Film: Gold , a heist film.

It’s important to remember that neither the movies nor the live-action series are canon to the anime series. They are not necessary to understand the TV series, although they may relate closely to the manga or series. Several movies may even reference events or reflect changes in the series or manga, meaning some may wish to watch them chronologically with the show to avoid any potential spoilers.

Where To Watch Every Superman Movie in Order

Where To Watch Every Superman Movie in Order

Clark Kent (a.k.a. Superman) will return to the big screen in 2025 in James Gunn’s Superman , which will also kickstart the new cinematic DC Universe (DCU) after the recent closure of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU). However, the Kryptonian hero has been appearing in films for over 82 years now. For viewers looking to catch up with his entire cinematic history before the start of the new Superman era, here’s where to watch every Superman movie in order.

DC Comics created Superman in 1938. He hails from the planet Krypton and boasts powers like super strength, laser beam eyes, and flight. The hero made his big screen debut in 1941 when he appeared in 17 theatrical animated shorts from Paramount Pictures.

By 1948, he appeared in live-action for the first time in the serial Superman , which became the most profitable movie serial at the time. In the original serial and sequel, Atom Man vs. Superman , Superman’s actor, Kirk Alwyn, was credited only as Superman to allow young viewers to believe he was real.

However, these early movies were limited significantly by the technology at the time. Hence, many feel the first film to come close to capturing the scale of this hero was when Warner Bros. took over the film rights and made Superman (1978). Christopher Reeve portrayed Kent and, to this day, is considered the best Superman actor. The movie was one of the first to create a realistic illusion of flight through wind machines, blue screens, and wiring work. The film received three direct sequels, each introducing iconic Superman characters like Lex Luthor, Lois Lane, Lana Lang, and General Zod.

Unfortunately, Superman IV: The Quest for Peace was such a financial and critical failure that another Superman movie wouldn’t be made until Superman Returns in 2006, when Brandon Routh took over as the titular hero. While it was an improvement over Superman IV: The Quest for Peace, Warner Bros. still wasn’t pleased with its box office performance.

Hence, the most recent iteration of Superman, portrayed by Henry Cavill , was born with Man of Steel . The movie also marked the first time Superman joined a cinematic universe as it kickstarted the DCEU. The next film Cavill appeared in was Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice , which saw the hero crossover with Ben Affleck ’s Batman. Superman would go on to appear in Justice League and Zack Snyder’s Justice League , but the DCEU quickly became plagued with critical and commercial flops and a lack of connectivity, leading to the universe closing out with Aquaman and the Last Kingdom .

Soon, David Corenswet’s Superman will kick off a new DCU in 2025. Before then, here’s where to watch every Superman movie in release date order from oldest to newest.

How to Watch My Little Pony Movies and TV shows in order

How to Watch My Little Pony Movies and TV shows in order

In 1981, Hasbro released My Pretty Pony, a plastic toy pony with a long mane that kids could brush. The following year, the toy line was rebranded as My Little Pony and they were given a more whimsical feel with new colors, like the iconic pastel pinks and purples the brand is now known for. In 1986, the toy collection got so popular it received a movie (the first of many). Check out our guide below to see where you can stream every My Little Pony movie and TV show on streaming services in the United States.

My Little Pony: The Movie premiered in 1986 and had a fantastic voice cast that included Danny DeVito, Madeline Kahn, and Rhea Perlman. However, the movie was only released in 421 theaters, severely limiting the number of people who could watch it. Still, it grossed over $5 million at the box office.

The movie was followed by the My Little Pony TV series from 1986-1987 and the reboot My Little Pony Tales in 1992. The series also received three straight-to-video releases between 2005 and 2006 with My Little Pony: A Very Minty Christmas , My Little Pony: The Princess Promenade , and My Little Pony Crystal Princess: The Runaway Rainbow .

In 2011 the franchise became more popular than ever with the premiere of the series My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic . The show ran until 2019 and spawned not just a fanbase, but an entire fandom. On top of the millions of children who loved the show, Friendship is Magic attracted a huge adult audience who created their own community known as Bronies. The fandom even held yearly conventions from 2011-2019 called BronyCon.

During the height of Friendship is Magic’s fame, a theatrically released movie premiered in 2017. My Little Pony: The Movie became a box office success, grossing over $60 million against a budget of just $6 million. The film also had a huge roster of stars voicing the characters, including Taye Diggs, Emily Blunt, and Zoe Saldana, among many others.

In 2020, Friendship is Magic received a short-lived spin-off with Pony Life , and in 2021, My Little Pony moved to Netflix with the exclusive film My Little Pony: A New Generation . The film was followed by the Netflix series My Little Pony: Make Your Mark , which aired from 2021-2023. While the series may have concluded (for now), My Little Pony is returning in 2024 with the open-world video game, My Little Pony: A Zephyr Heights Mystery, so fans luckily still have a lot to look forward to from the franchise. How many Wolverine movies are there?

Wolverine has been in 9 live action movies to date, including 3 Wolverine movies and appearances in almost every X-Men movie. His first live-action movie was released in 2000, when Hugh Jackman was cast as Wolverine in 20th Century Fox’s  X-Men . The film introduced numerous iconic castings such as Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, and Halle Berry as Storm. It was a major success and kickstarted a long-running X-Men movie franchise. Viewers were especially drawn to Wolverine with his rugged look, mysterious past, and brutal approach to saving the day. Hence, it’s no surprise he had a major role in the sequels X-2 and X-Men: The Last Stand . Once the X-Men original trilogy ended, he was given his first solo movie, X-Men Origins: Wolverine , which earned a sequel, The Wolverine .

Wolverine doesn't age due to his mutant healing abilities, so Hugh Jackman was also able to reprise his role for the X-Men prequel trilogy despite the story taking place several decades earlier. Wolverine makes a brief cameo in First Class but becomes an important character once again in Days of Future Past. He has a cameo in X-Men: Apocalypse , while Dark Phoenix marked the first X-Men movie without him in 2009.

In 2017, Jackman appeared in his last solo Wolverine movie,  Logan , which is heralded as by far the best Wolverine film to date. Logan even earned an Oscar nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay — a rare recognition for a superhero movie. Afterward, Jackman announced he was retiring from the role. However, seven years later, Reynolds convinced him to take up the claws again for Deadpool & Wolverine.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

X-Men Wolverine: Origins

X-Men: Apocalypse ( cameo )

How to Watch Every Hulk Movie and Series in Order

How to Watch Every Hulk Movie and Series in Order

The Incredible Hulk has had a pretty strange journey through film and television. From TV to the big screen, and back to TV again, check out our guide below to discover how to watch every movie and series that features The Incredible Hulk.

After debuting in Marvel comics in 1962, the Hulk quickly became a fan-favorite character. In 1977, he was brought to life for the first time in the series The Incredible Hulk . Starring Bill Bixby as the Hulk, the show was initially a hit before it began losing ratings…and thus, the strange saga of the Hulk began.

In 1982, the original series was canceled, but fans continued to be interested in the Hulk. So, in 1988, Bixby returned for a series of made-for-TV Hulk movies that aired in ‘88, ‘89 and ‘90. The final movie, The Death of the Incredible Hulk even features Banner dying at the end. From 1996-1997, the Hulk also starred in an unrelated The Incredible Hulk cartoon.

In 2003, the Hulk would find his way into another live-action adaptation, this time on the big screen. After gaining international fame for his movie Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon , director Ang Lee decided to make the Hulk’s first theatrical film. Starring Eric Bana as Bruce Banner, Hulk became a smash hit, earning $62.6 million in its opening weekend, which, at the time, was one of the highest-grossing opening weekends ever. However, it received a mixed response from critics and its long runtime made it lose appeal with younger viewers.

Just five years later in 2008, the Hulk received another film adaptation… this time as an official part of the MCU. As a complete reboot, The Incredible Hulk had nothing to do with the ‘03 film and Edward Norton took over the role as Banner. Once again, the film received a lukewarm response from critics and only had a so-so box office performance, earning just $264 million after costing the studio $150 million to make. Though the movie wasn’t a total flop, its profit margin wasn’t enough to justify a sequel, and it remains the Hulk’s final standalone film.

In 2012, Bruce Banner was recast yet again, with Mark Ruffalo landing the role. Ruffalo is still currently portraying the Hulk throughout the MCU , though he’s never gotten his own film. But he’s starred in The Avengers series and has had appearances in films like Iron Man 3 and Thor: Ragnarok . Most recently he appeared in the Disney+ series She-Hulk: Attorney at Law .

While there’s still no standalone Hulk movie in the works, Marvel has announced more Avengers movies are on the way. Though the full casting details haven’t been announced yet, fans may see more of the Hulk in the future. Until then, check out our guide below to see where you can stream every Hulk show and movie in order.

How to Watch the Guardians of the Galaxy Series In Order

How to Watch the Guardians of the Galaxy Series In Order

The Guardians of the Galaxy made their first comic book appearance in 1969, but the superhero team that audiences recognize first arrived in the 2008 comic revival of the series. Then, in 2014, Marvel made a film adaptation of the popular comic. As we all know, Guardians of the Galaxy became a smash hit and has since led to more sequels, TV shows, and even a holiday special. Check out our guide below to find out how to watch the entire franchise in order.

In the original 2014 film , Peter Quill (played by Chris Pratt ) finds himself on the run after stealing a mysterious orb. Along the way, he meets a wide range of characters whose fates have brought them together. In the end, the group realizes that despite their differences, they’re much stronger when they work together…ultimately forming the Guardians of the Galaxy. In the film’s climax, the plant creature Groot must sacrifice himself to save the team. Luckily, at the end of the film, we see that he hasn’t died, and instead is regrowing as a young seedling. The adventures of this new “baby Groot” are chronicled in the 2022 Disney+ series I am Groot .

The next installment came in 2015 when Disney XD premiered an animated Guardians of the Galaxy series which ran until 2019. The show followed the crew’s various adventures throughout the galaxy, and its third season is especially notable. The season was subtitled Mission Breakout and dives into the same story as the popular Disneyland ride of the same name. For diehard fans, watching the season is a must before riding the ride to give you a better backstory.

Volume 2 then premiered in 2017 and dived deeper into Quill’s emotional backstory. In the movie, he ends up meeting his father, the god-like Ego (played by Kurt Russell ). In the beginning, Ego seems like a loving father who has missed his son, but soon his kind-hearted attitude gives way to an insidious plan. In the end, Quill must realize that his team of misfits has actually become his true family and that he’s strongest when he’s by their side.

Next up was the Holiday Special in 2022, which was both hilarious and heartfelt. In the special, Quill tries to teach the team the meaning of Christmas…and in a misguided attempt at giving him a present, Mantis and Drax travel to Earth and kidnap Kevin Bacon. The special also includes a rocked-up Christmas soundtrack with bands like The Smashing Pumpkins, The Pogues, and The Waitresses.

The most recent addition to the Guardians franchise was Volume 3 , which premiered in 2023. The movie takes place after Gamora dies in Avengers: Infinity War and dual plots follow the gang trying to save a planet from destruction while Rocket learns of his tragic origins.

Though a fourth film hasn’t been announced yet, fans can still experience the Guardians’ story at Disney Parks thanks to Mission Breakout at Disneyland and Cosmic Rewind at Disney World. Both rides prominently feature the main cast, have great soundtracks, and are fun ways to dive deeper into the MCU.

Where to Stream Every Die Hard Movie in Order

Where to Stream Every Die Hard Movie in Order

In the summer of 1988, Die Hard premiered and followed a lone detective who must save a group of partygoers on Christmas Eve after they’re held hostage by a group of German terrorists. The movie was a smash hit and eventually received four sequels. Check out our guide below to discover where you can watch all five Die Hard movies in order.

The original 1988 film starred Bruce Willis as John McClane, a detective who arrives in Los Angeles to reconcile with his estranged wife. But after her Christmas Party in Nakatomi Plaza (set in the real-life Fox Plaza in LA’s Century City) is ambushed by a group of terrorists, it’s up to McClane to save his wife and take down the terrorist organization. The movie became a smash hit, eventually grossing over $143 million and becoming the 7th highest-grossing movie of the year.

Die Hard 2 hit theaters in 1990. This time around, McClane arrives at Dulles Airport in Washington DC to meet his wife who is flying in from LA. But a corrupt military leader is also landing at the same time, and his devout followers seize Dulles, shutting down air traffic control and demanding safe passage for their leader…otherwise, planes will crash. The sequel was an even bigger success, grossing $240 million.

Next up was Die Hard with a Vengeance in 1995. The film takes place in New York City after a bomb explodes in midtown Manhattan during the morning commute, and a member of the German terrorist group from the first film claims responsibility. He orders McClane to perform a series of tests, threatening to kill more people if he doesn’t. Yet again, the film grossed even more than its predecessors, raking in over $366 million.

After taking a 12-year hiatus, the franchise returned in 2007 with Live Free or Die Hard . The new film brought the franchise into the modern era and focused on the emerging problem of cyber terrorism. In the movie, McClane is sent to recruit a young hacker to help the government counter-hack a terrorist organization that’s trying to destroy America through technology, compromising the nation’s transit networks and the stock market.

The final Die Hard film, A Good Day to Die Hard , came out in 2013. McClane finds trouble yet again, this time in Russia after a corrupt government official tries to silence a whistleblower. He needs the help of his estranged son, CIA official Jack McClane, to help him get the job done and the duo have an action-packed escape from Russia. Willis ended up reprising his role as McClane for the final time in a 2020 commercial before retiring from acting due to his dementia diagnosis in 2022.

For viewers who want more of Swift in their lives, here’s where and how to watch all her movies.

While Swift is arguably one of the most famous people in the world, the singer comes from humble beginnings. She spent most of her childhood growing up on an 11-acre Christmas tree farm in Reading, Pennsylvania, before her whirlwind rise to fame and first record deal at age 15. Hence, her first concert film, Taylor Swift: Journey to Fearless , doesn’t just capture portions of her first major tour but also explores her story leading up to it. Similarly, the early documentaries Taylor Swift: Just for You and Taylor Swift: From the Heart dive into her childhood to give viewers a rare glimpse into the singer’s personal life.

The various films she has made over the years also allow viewers to track her growth and progress as an artist and influencer. Her concert film Taylor Swift: Reputation Stadium Tour in 2018 marked a turning point in her career. Reputation was her final album with her original record label, Big Machine Records, and the impending tonal shift in her music is hinted at in these passionate performances.

By 2020, the singer, who is known for being very private, released the deeply personal Miss Americana , in which she established that she had grown far beyond the teenage pop star she started out as and was ready to use her platform and voice to advocate for others.

Her more recent concert films, including Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions and Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour, capture her exploration of the indie folk genre after her departure from Big Machine Records, as she reinvents herself as a musician and embraces her global stardom. For those seeking the whole Swift experience, here are all her concert films, documentaries, and short films in order from newest to oldest and where to stream them.

Where To Watch Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy in Order

Where To Watch Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight Trilogy in Order

Christopher Nolan recently took home his first two Oscars at the 96th Academy Awards for Oppenheimer . However, the wins have renewed discussion and interest in The Dark Knight trilogy, which many viewers believe should have garnered Nolan his first Oscar win over a decade ago. For those interested in exploring Nolan’s trilogy after his recent win, this guide will explain where and how to stream it in order.

The lack of Best Picture or Best Director nominations for any of Nolan's three films in the Batman series has long been controversial. Even famed director Steven Spielberg has suggested that The Dark Knight would have at least earned a Best Picture nomination today. The film’s devastating snub is believed to have influenced the Best Picture category changing its rules to include ten nominees rather than 8.

The furor over its lack of accolades is a testimony to how influential Nolan’s series is. It was surprising in 2005 when the critically acclaimed director signed on to direct Batman Begins . The MCU and DCU didn’t exist at this time, and most superhero movies suffered from technology limitations and campiness. However, something about the complexity of the brooding vigilante Bruce Wayne (a.k.a. Batman ) appealed to Nolan. He wanted to reinvent the character onscreen, and he did.

Christian Bale took on the role of Batman alongside Michael Caine’s Alfred Pennyworth, Liam Neeson’s Ra’s al Ghul, and Cillian Murphy ’s Scarecrow. Batman Begins was dark and sophisticated, and it featured groundbreaking visual effects for the time as it delved into Batman’s tragic origin story and explored the moral complexity of saving the corrupt Gotham City. Not only did it reinvent Batman, but it aided in reinventing and modernizing the whole superhero genre.

In 2008, the sequel, The Dark Knight, was released to stellar reviews. It pitted Batman against his most iconic enemy, the Joker. Heath Ledger received an Oscar nomination for his mesmerizing performance as the villain. Not only is it the best film in the trilogy, but it is also considered one of the greatest superhero movies of all time with its action-packed premise, brilliant performances, and sophisticated themes.

Unfortunately, the trilogy did stumble a bit with the final film, The Dark Knight Rises , largely because Ledger’s passing led to the Joker being replaced with Tom Hardy’s Bane. The shift in plans led to a slightly messy plot. While it struggled to eclipse its predecessor, it still proved to be a satisfying and well-received conclusion.

Here is where and how to watch Nolan’s entire The Dark Knight trilogy in order, from oldest to newest.

How to Watch Every Exorcist Movie and Series in Order

How to Watch Every Exorcist Movie and Series in Order

The Exorcist first hit theaters in 1973 and quickly earned a reputation as the scariest movie ever made. That year, The New York Times even reported that during its premiere screenings, audiences began vomiting and fainting from fear – with one woman allegedly even having a miscarriage right in the theater. While most of these claims are likely false, they showcase just how shocking and terrifying the movie was. Since then, five more movies and a TV series have been released in the franchise, with more sequels on the way.

Find out how to watch every Exorcist installment in chronological order with our guide below.

If you want to watch The Exorcist franchise in order of release dates, it would be:

The Exorcist (1973)

Exorcist II: The Heretic (1977)

The Exorcist III (1990)

Exorcist: The Beginning (2004)

Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist (2005)

The Exorcist series (2016-2017)

The Exorcist: Believer (2023)

But if you want to watch the series in chronological order, here’s how:

The Exorcist actually has pretty murky beginnings – with two rival prequels telling the same origin story in two different ways (this is the result of some classic Hollywood studio drama). 2006’s Dominion: Prequel to the Exorcist and 2004’s Exorcist: The Beginning both star Stellan Skarsgård as Father Lankester Merrin, and both films center around Merrin encountering the demon Pazuzu for the first time in the late ‘40s and learning of the evil force’s backstory that dates back to around 500 A.D.

However, most fans can skip over these films as their vibes are very different from the later installments. The next chapter in the saga is the original 1973 movie where the young Regan (played by Linda Blair) gets possessed by Pazuzu, turning her into the iconic bedridden, green, scab-covered monster that the film is famous for.

In 1977, Blair reprised the role of Regan for The Exorcist II: Heretic . This time around, Pazuzu is back and wants Regan once more. But in the sequel, we also learn that Regan has certain telekinetic powers, which is why the demon chose her. However, this new twist made the film feel more sci-fi than horror, which has given it a controversial legacy amongst fans.

The Exorcist III came out over a decade later in 1990. The movie follows a minor character from the first film, Detective Kinderman, as he investigates a series of murders in the Georgetown area. It’s later revealed the killings are being committed by various people who are possessed by a deceased serial killer that gets his power from Pazuzu. The plot is totally bonkers, but the movie is considered a cult hit among fans.

Next up chronologically would be the FOX series The Exorcist which aired from 2016-2017. The first season starred Oscar-winner Geena Davis as Regan, now as an adult. Pazuzu once again comes for her, this time attacking her at her weakest point by going after her children. Seeing no other options to save her family, Regan finally gives in and lets Pazuzu take her, turning her into a murderous, soulless minion.

In 2023, the franchise returned once again with The Exorcist: Believer . The movie takes place 50 years after the original and follows two young girls who go missing in the woods. When they mysteriously emerge a few days later and start showing strange symptoms, a desperate father reaches out to Chris MacNeil (played by Ellen Burstyn, who reprises her role from the first film) for help. Naturally, all hell breaks loose and the girls devolve into fully possessed beings.

Two more Exorcist sequels are currently in the works. Until then, find out where to chronologically stream every entry in the franchise using our guide below.

Where To Watch Every Movie That Won Best Actor at the Oscars

Where To Watch Every Movie That Won Best Actor at the Oscars

As highly predicted, Cillian Murphy won the Academy Award for Best Actor at the 96th Oscars . He won the award for his portrayal of J. Robert Oppenheimer in Oppenheimer . Murphy wholly transformed into the historical figure and was able to convey the conflicting life and morals of the creator of the atomic bomb. Now, he joins a list of just 86 actors to win America's most prestigious acting award. This guide will revisit all of the movies that hold Best Actor-winning performances and reveal where to stream them.

Emil Jannings was the first nominee to win Best Actor at the 1st Academy Awards in 1929. Back then, actors could win the award for multiple films. Hence, he won for his roles as Grand Duke Sergius Alexander in The Last Command and August Schilling in The Way of All Flesh. Since the rules changed afterward, Jennings is the only actor to win the award for multiple roles.

While a lot has changed about the Oscars in 96 years, one thing that has not is the Best Actor category. To this day, it remains one of the Big Four awards one can win. It has been awarded to a wide variety of men for many different roles, such as Sidney Poitier for  Lilies of the Field , Jack Nicholson for One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest , Adrien Brody for The Pianist , and Joaquin Phoenix for Joker .

While every win is a significant achievement, several particularly notable wins have occurred. In 2012, Daniel Day-Lewis won his third Best Actor for portraying Abraham Lincoln in Lincoln . Hence, he became the only actor to have ever won Best Actor three times at the time of writing. As for the actors with the most Best Actor nominations in history, Laurence Olivier and Spencer Tracy are tied with a whopping nine nominations each.

However, several men have earned two Best Actor awards in their lifetime, including Nicholson, Marlon Brando, Dustin Hoffman, Tom Hanks , and Anthony Hopkins. In addition to being one of few actors to win Best Actor twice, Hopkins became the oldest winner when he won for The Father in 2020 at age 83.

Here’s where to watch every movie that has produced an Oscar-winning performance from newest to oldest.

Where To Watch Every King Kong Movie and TV Show in Order

Where To Watch Every King Kong Movie and TV Show in Order

King Kong is returning to the big screen in one of 2024’s most highly anticipated movies, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire . The film marks the third King Kong movie in the MonsterVerse and the thirteenth film in the long-running King Kong franchise. If you're looking to dive into the iconic kaiju’s entire filmography, this guide explains how to watch every King Kong movie and TV show in release order. We'll also show you where to stream them online on popular streaming services today.

The King Kong franchise begain in 1933, laying the foundation for more monster characters like Godzilla, Mothra and King Ghidorah. As a result,  King Kong (1933) is considered one of the greatest and most influential monster movies ever made – paving the way for further stories about the ape and his home on Skull Island.

A sequel, The Son of Kong , was released nine months after the first King Kong movie. However, the franchise’s history got much more complicated after that, as the rights passed back and forth between studios. Filmmaker Willis O’Brien formulated an idea for King Kong vs. Frankenstein, but John Beck took his idea behind his back and presented it to the Japanese studio Toho, which then reworked the film into King Kong vs. Godzilla (1962) without crediting O’Brien, marking the first of many complicated legal dealings regarding the franchise.

By 1976, the franchise had moved back to America with King Kong (1976), the first remake of the original directed by John Guillermin. The film resulted in a lawsuit from Universal Pictures, which sought to prove that King Kong was in the public domain so that it could make its own remake. Since the 1933 movie was novelized and the book's copyright was not renewed, the book version of King Kong was officially declared to be in the public domain. Hence, in 2005, Universal released its own remake, King Kong , with Peter Jackson directing and Andy Serkis as Kong.

Initially, Universal planned a sequel, but at this point, Warner Bros. and Legendary swooped in and secured the franchise rights. The studios soon created the MonsterVerse and introduced Kong to it in Kong: Skull Island , which starred Tom Hiddleston , John Goodman, Samuel L. Jackson , and Brie Larson. The plan was to create a shared universe with multiple major kaiju, so it wasn’t long before Kong was reunited with his old nemesis Godzilla in Godzilla vs. Kong.

Several animated King Kong TV shows have also been made, but the only one that officially ties into the movies is  Skull Island , which is canon in the MonsterVerse.

How can I watch every King Kong movie in order?

While Godzilla and King Kong have long been nemeses on the big screen, Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024) sees them join forces. To prepare for their latest crossover, here’s how to watch all of King Kong’s movies and TV shows in release order, from newest to oldest. This includes streaming details for every movie in the franchise so you can find out which King Kong movies are on Netflix, Prime Video, MAX and every other streaming service in the United States.

The 10 Best Spike Lee Joints, Ranked, and Where to Watch Them

The 10 Best Spike Lee Joints, Ranked, and Where to Watch Them

Spike Lee has been called many things – controversial, firebrand, and an auteur – but one thing that can’t be denied is that he’s a fantastic filmmaker. Often focusing on social issues like racism, Lee has created a lengthy portfolio of movies that continue to push buttons and ask questions. Check out our guide below to discover Spike Lee’s 10 best movies and where to stream them.

Lee first broke into Hollywood with his 1986 film She’s Gotta Have It . The movie follows a woman as she balances her crushes on three different men (Lee himself even plays one of the men in the film). It was also Lee’s first time taking on writing, directing, and producing duties in a major film. The movie became a huge success for the first-time filmmaker, premiering at Cannes and earning Lee an Independent Spirit Award.

Lee’s most iconic film however is easily Malcolm X , which takes the #2 spot on our list. The movie was a biopic that followed the life of civil rights activist and religious preacher Malcolm X. Malcolm was played by Denzel Washington and the movie showed X’s upbringing, incarceration, indoctrination to the Nation of Islam, redemption, and ultimately, his tragic assassination. The film was a massive hit and Denzel Washington even earned himself an Oscar nomination for his role.

But the #1 spot on our list goes to BlacKkKlansman . The movie tells the wild but true story of Colorado police officer Ron Stallworth, a Black man who infiltrated a local chapter of the KKK to spy on them and offer information to police and the FBI. The film was hard-hitting yet hilariously absurd…made even crazier by the fact that it was all based on real events. BlacKkKlansman received six Oscar and Six Golden Globe nominations, including Best Director and Best Picture at both ceremonies.

While much of Lee’s filmography focuses on racial issues and Black life in America, he’s also directed a wide range of other movies, like the #3 film on the list, Inside Man . At first, the movie seems like a classic heist story, but a very unique twist flips the entire story on its head in the finale, making it a thrilling watch for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet.

Check out all 10 of Spike Lee’s best movies from his decades-long career, and find out where you can watch all of them in our guide below.

A Guide to Every Movie in The Omen Franchise and Where to Watch Them

A Guide to Every Movie in The Omen Franchise and Where to Watch Them

“Look at me Damien, it’s all for you!” Those lines have become iconic in horror history thanks to The Omen , a film about a married couple whose baby is secretly swapped out with the antichrist. Unknowingly, they raise and nurture the spawn of Satan… and mysterious, horrific events begin to happen all around them. Check out our guide below to find out where to stream all six Omen films, including the upcoming  The First Omen .

The newest film in the franchise is The First Omen, which is a prequel that tells the story of how Damien was born and the tortured final days of the woman who was forced to birth him. Taking place in Rome (where the first movie and its 2006 remake begin) the film is set to take audiences right up to the very moment where the original story begins.

The First Omen serves as the first new film in the series in almost 20 years, with the most recent being the 2006 remake that starred Julia Stiles and Liev Schreiber. The movie premiered on June 6, 2006, making its release date 6.6.06, which helped add lots of hype to its premiere. The Omen ended up earning almost $120 million at the box office, making it the highest-grossing movie in the series so far.

Before the remake, The Omen had a series of four films that all built on a continuing plot line. The 1976 original movie follows Damien as a child. Without giving away any spoilers, the movie concludes with him finding his way into the White House, alluding that Satan will be able to carry out his nefarious plans on a widespread political level.

The 1978 sequel Damien: Omen II sees Damien, now a 12-year-old, continuing his journey through life, killing everyone who might get in his way…though sadly, this film dropped the White House plot set up in the first movie, which would have made for an absolutely wild film.

The third movie in the series was 1981’s Omen III: The Final Conflict . Damien is now an adult and played by the great Sam Neill (who many know as Dr. Grant from Jurassic Park ). In the film, Damien has found his way into politics to assert his influence on a global scale as he fights to ensure the second coming of Christ can’t happen. Despite getting mixed reviews, Neill’s performance received some praise from critics and the movie earned $20 million at the box office, which wasn’t too bad for 1981.

The final film in the original tetralogy was the 1991 made-for-TV movie Omen IV: The Awakening . The movie follows a married couple who adopt a young girl, and it soon becomes clear that she’s set to become the new antichrist. As a ‘90s made-for-TV horror movie, Omen IV failed to deliver many scares or meaningful tension, thus killing off the franchise for over a decade until the reboot stirred new interest in The Omen.

Check out our guide below to discover where you can watch all six Omen movies.

Where to Watch Every MonsterVerse Entry in Chronological Order

Where to Watch Every MonsterVerse Entry in Chronological Order

Who doesn’t love watching giant monsters use the planet as a battlefield while they fight for dominance? With the next film Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire premiering soon, now is the perfect time to dive into the MonsterVerse (or rewatch your favorites if you’re already a fan). Check out our guide below to find out how to watch every MonsterVerse entry in chronological order.

The MonsterVerse officially began in 2014 with the release of Godzilla . It was the second American-made Godzilla movie ever and the first to hit US theaters in over 15 years. But the film proved that audiences’ fascination with the giant titan had only grown stronger over the years, turning Godzilla into a smash hit that grossed over $529 million at the box office.

Three years later, King Kong received his first big-screen adaptation in over a decade with Kong: Skull Island . In a post-credits scene, it’s revealed that Kong isn’t the only monster…he’s just one of many titans, including Godzilla. This scene officially linked the two movies, signaling that a cinematic universe had been born.

From there, we’ve received sequels, crossover films, and both Godzilla and King Kong have been given series adaptations with Netflix’s Skull Island and Apple TV+’s critically acclaimed series Monarch: Legacy of Monsters . The MonsterVerse has become famous for its massive battles that have brought classic titans back to life with modern graphics like Mothra, Ghidorah, and Rodan.

But aside from the fantastic special effects and the larger-than-life battles, the series often reveals glimmers of its underlying messages about nature and respecting the balance that keeps Earth hospitable to life. The series often questions the creation of nuclear weapons and humanity’s continued destruction of the natural world, proving that the MonsterVerse is much more than just giant monsters.

The MonsterVerse’s release order is not the same as its chronological order. If you want to watch the MonsterVerse in order of its release dates, it would be:

Godzilla (2014)

Kong: Skull Island (2017)

Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019)

Godzilla vs. Kong (2021)

Skull Island (2013)

Monarch: Legacy of Monsters (2023)

Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire (2024)

But if you want to watch the MonsterVerse in chronological order, based on the events within each film and series, then check out our guide below to discover what the order is and where to stream each entry.

In 1968, Planet of the Apes , the first film adaptation of Pierre Boulle’s novel of the same name, was released. The film tells the tale of an astronaut crew who land on a planet where apes have attained human-like intelligence and are now the dominant species instead of humans. It is considered one of the greatest sci-fi classics ever made due to its twist ending, political commentary, and groundbreaking costumes and makeup.

The film was such a hit that Fox quickly ordered a sequel, Beneath the Planet of the Apes . Unfortunately, it is considered one of the worst films in the franchise due to losing sight of its political focus to elevate the action and humor. However, because it was a commercial success, the franchise continued with Escape from the Planet of the Apes in 1971. The movie is important addition to the Planet of the Apes saga because it was the first to introduce the most recognizable star of the franchise: Caesar.

While 20th Century Fox ordered two more sequels, the end of the series was in sight as the studio cut the budget significantly for the final films, and they received mixed reception. Afterward, the franchise received two TV series and speedy plans for a movie remake. However, the remake languished in developmental hell for 28 years before Planet of the Apes (2001) arrived. Directed by Tim Burton and starring Mark Wahlberg , the 2001 remake of Planet of the Apes was a financial success but received mixed reviews. 20th Century Fox ultimately decided to move forward with a separate reboot – Rise of the Planet of the Apes – in 2011. Andy Serkis stars as Caesar in the reboot series, which takes place before the Planet of the Apes and tracks how the Ape-run planet came to be.

The reboot series proved comparably successful to the beloved classic series and quickly received two sequels,  Dawn of the Planet of the Apes and War for the Planet of the Apes , before taking a long hiatus following Disney’s acquisition of 20th Century Fox. Fortunately, Disney saved and continued the series with Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes in 2024.

Every Movie to Win Best Actress at the Oscars, and Where to Watch Them

Every Movie to Win Best Actress at the Oscars, and Where to Watch Them

At the 96th Academy Awards , Emma Stone won her second Best Actress Oscar thanks to her role in Poor Things , where she plays a childlike woman who is brought back to life thanks to a revolutionary brain transplant. The movie joins a lofty ensemble of films that have taken home the coveted award honoring actresses who have portrayed hilarious, heartbreaking, and pivotal characters throughout cinematic history. Discover every movie to win Best Actress and find out where to stream them in our guide below.

The first Best Actress winner ever was Janet Gaynor, who was nominated for three films that year: 7th Heaven , Street Angel , and Sunrise: A Song of Two Humans . This was the only time an actress won an Academy Award for playing multiple roles in different films. Since then, the prestigious honor has been awarded to actresses from all walks of life in a wide array of films, like Julie Andrews for Mary Poppins , Cher for Moonstruck , Halle Berry in Monster's Ball , and Reese Witherspoon for Walk the Line , among many others.

In 1991, Jodie Foster won Best Actress for The Silence of the Lambs , which was a significant moment because very few horror and suspense films are ever recognized by the academy. In fact, The Silence of the Lambs scored every major award at the 64th Oscars. On top of Foster’s win, the movie also earned Best Picture, Best Actor, Best Director, and Best Adapted Screenplay, making it one of just a handful of movies to take home every major award.

So far, the all-time highest winner for the Best Actress Oscar is Katherine Hepburn, who holds the record with four wins for her films Morning Glory , Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner , The Lion in Winter (which she tied with Barbra Streisand's performance in 1968's Funny Girl ) and  On Golden Pond . Meryl Streep presently holds the record for most Best Actress nominations, being nominated a whopping 17 times, winning twice for Sophie’s Choice and The Iron Lady .

Where To Watch Every Ghostbusters Movie and TV Show in Order

Where To Watch Every Ghostbusters Movie and TV Show in Order

The Ghostbusters franchise is expanding again with the release of Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire . The film marks the fourth installment in the series after the franchise’s recent revival. For newcomers to the franchise or those seeking a refresher, this guide will explain how and where to stream the Ghostbusters movies and TV shows in order.

The franchise started with the 1984 movie Ghostbusters . Audiences were enthralled by the story of Peter Venkman (Bill Murray), Ray Stantz (Dan Aykroyd), Egon Spengler (Harold Ramis), and Winston Zeddemore (Ernie Hudson), four men who start a ghost-hunting business. Ghostbusters’ solid performances, witty dialogue, clever script, and catchy theme song resulted in the movie becoming a cultural phenomenon and far exceeding box office and critical expectations.

Columbia Pictures was eager for a sequel, but trouble was brewing from the start. The sequel had a notoriously difficult time getting all the original actors to sign on. Meanwhile, production was rushed, and large portions of the movie were scrapped. Hence,  Ghostbusters II was hardly comparable to the original's success, largely diminishing hopes for the third installment.

When original Ghostbusters star Ramis passed away in 2014, hope for a direct sequel was so low that Sony rebooted the franchise with Ghostbusters (2016) . The movie swapped out the lead cast for an all-female lead cast, including Melissa McCarthy , Kristen Wiig, Kate McKinnon, and Leslie Jones. The film was such a box office flop that the idea of a reboot sequel was quickly shut down.

Finally, Jason Reitman, the son of Ghostbusters’ original director, Ivan Reitman, saved the franchise. He did the impossible and convinced the three surviving original Ghostbusters actors to reprise their roles. He also tapped Finn Wolfhard and McKenna Grace for the next generation of ghost-hunters. The result was the 2021 movie Ghostbusters: Afterlife , a fresh new take on the franchise that proved to be a touching tribute to Ramis. The movie teased that there was more to come from the revived franchise, and it wasn’t long before Ghostbusters: Frozen Empire was greenlit, with all the original and new cast members from Ghostbusters: Afterlife returning.

The best way to watch the Ghostbusters films is by release date order since the films were released chronologically. Additionally, there are three animated spinoff series that aren’t necessary to understand the movies but are fun to watch for the whole franchise experience. Here’s the franchise in order by release date from newest to oldest.

The 15 Best Robert De Niro Movies and Where to Watch Them

The 15 Best Robert De Niro Movies and Where to Watch Them

Robert De Niro is one of the most acclaimed actors in Hollywood history. Throughout his nearly 60-year career, he’s earned himself nine Oscar nominations (winning twice) and 12 Golden Globe nominations, including receiving the prestigious Cecil B. DeMille Award in 2011. If you want to watch the best films of his career, check out our guide below to find out where you can stream them.

De Niro has been in a lot of movies. He’s starred in tons of mafia films, he’s been in numerous military movies, and he’s even been in a few hit comedies, like the #4 movie on the list, Meet the Parents . Released in 2000, the movie follows a man (Ben Stiller) who visits his girlfriend’s parents for the first time. The only problem is that her father (De Niro) is an overprotective, somewhat paranoid retired CIA agent who will do anything to sabotage his daughter’s relationship. De Niro was hilarious in the movie and stands out as the most memorable character in the film. The role even earned him a Golden Globe nomination.

And you can’t talk about De Niro’s acting career without mentioning his iconic Oscar-nominated performance in the #2 movie on our list, Taxi Driver . His line, “You talkin’ to me?” has become one of the most-quoted lines ever and remains a memorable moment in cinematic history – even more impressive is that De Niro improvised that entire scene.

The film centers around De Niro’s character, a taxi driver who becomes disgusted with the amount of crime and sleaze he sees in New York City. Before long, his anger becomes delusion and he descends into a state of madness where he’s ready to kill all the criminals around him, regardless of the consequences.

But the best De Niro film of all time, holding the #1 spot on our list, would be The Godfather Part II . Not only did it earn De Niro an Oscar, but the movie also won five other Oscars, including Best Picture. Often praised as better than the original , the sequel continued the story of the Corleone crime family and is split between two eras, the turn of the 20th century and the late 1950s. The movie was loaded with memorable scenes and was packed with an all-star cast including Al Pacino , Diane Keaton, Robert Duvall, and James Caan .

But De Niro’s filmography is loaded with tons more hits – from him portraying a hilarious and charming cross-dressing sky pirate in Stardust to his latest Oscar-nominated role in Killers of the Flower Moon , which tells the true story of the infamous murders in Osage, Oklahoma by a greedy cattle rancher. Check out our guide below to find out Robert De Niro’s 15 best movies and where to stream them.

Taylor Swift Eras Tour concert movie

UPDATE, AFTER EXCLUSIVE: AMC is reporting that the Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour concert film has clocked a mindblowing $26M for the circuit in presales in its first 24 hours, beating their previous first day presales record for Spider-Man: No Way Home which did $16.9M. Let’s write that again — this massive presales figure is only for AMC . It’s not for the entire industry and other circuits like Regal, Cinemark and Harkins — which means the figure is significantly bigger. Realize, though, AMC reps the largest footprint for movie theaters at the domestic B.O. with 568 locations.

Triple note here with AMC’s maneuvers with the Taylor Swift: Eras Tour concert pic: It’s the exhibitors who are winning 100% this time; not the studios who do not have a stake in this pic.

Separately, Fandango reports that Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour broke the ticket seller’s first day sales for 2023 and ranks among their first-day presellers which include Avengers: Endgame, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, Spider-Man: No Way Home and others.

“Taylor Swift is giving moviegoing fans and the entire industry the ultimate gift by bringing Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film to the big screen,” said Jerramy Hainline, SVP, Fandango Ticketing. “Not only is Taylor Swift’s concert film the best first-day ticket seller of the year on Fandango, but the concert film is performing like the superhero she is and ranking among the best first-day ticket sellers of all time from franchises like Marvel, Star Wars, DC Comics and more.”

PREVIOUS EXCLUSIVE, Aug. 31: Since going on sale at 7:15 a.m. CT this morning, ticket presales for AMC’s concert film Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour are well past $10M and counting, we hear from sources. By the end of the day, this presales figure will be tremendously north of what we’re seeing. Swift’s presales here bury the one-weekend-play gross of Trafalgar’s BST: Yet to Come, which did $8M earlier this year.

This enormous presales figure for the pic’s four-weekend play is making distribution executives fall out of their chairs — and reach for their Just calculators. They’re trying to figure out how this concert film distributed to the top three circuits, and possibly more theaters, will do in its opening weekend, off what largely will be a marketing campaign fueled by circuits’ social media, email blasts to loyalty clubs and Swift herself.

What does The Eras Tour even comp to in regards to presales?

“Some Marvel movie,” adds a distribution guru.

They’re right: Days before Eternals opened, presales were at $13M. But The Eras Tour is poised to be crazy higher. Keep in mind that Star Wars: The Force Awakens did $20M on its first day of presales — nine weeks out from its release date back in 2015!

Certainly, AMC doesn’t have the marketing spend of a major studio a la Disney, Sony and Paramount, which opened their respective docu-concert movies to big numbers, i.e. Hannah Montana and Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert ($31M opening, $65.2M final in 2008), Michael Jackson’s This Is It ($23.2M, $72M in 2009) and Justin Bieber: Never Say Never ($29.5M opening, $73M domestic in 2011).

“They don’t need that,” cried one distribution boss today about the pic’s P&A spend. “All AMC needs is Taylor Swift posting about the movie on social media to her fans.”

AMC said in pre-release that it will limit the showtimes of other Hollywood pics due to the presence of the Swift movie, for which a separate movie ticket sales portal has been created to accommodate huge demand. Also, AMC Stubs members aren’t getting priority treatment when it comes to passes on the film or immediate queue access.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film will not compete with Universal/Blumhouse/Morgan Creek’s The Exorcist: Believer on its opening weekend, that female-skewing horror movie having just moved to October 6 within minutes after Deadline’s story posted. However, Swift will go up against Lionsgate’s Ordinary Angels on October 13, then versus Apple/Paramount’s Killers of the Flower Moon on October 20, and Uni/Blumhouse’s theatrical day-and-date of Five Nights at Freddy’s on October 27. The Eras Tour is really the only wide release during the first weekend of November, with Dune: Part Two now in March 2024 .

AMC, has tapped Variance Films to book the movie, did not return Deadline’s request for comment about Swift presales.

If you couldn't afford a Taylor Swift ticket, or want to see the show again, or the show in your city was sold out, or want to see what the hype is about, there's good news.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour Concert Film is coming to AMC theaters across the U.S., Canada and Mexico starting Oct. 13, Swift announced Thursday.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I'm overjoyed to tell you that it'll be coming to the big screen soon," she said on Instagram . "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged."

How three female artists lead this summer's billion-dollar pop culture revival

Pop Culture

How three female artists lead this summer's billion-dollar pop culture revival, local economies are getting a boost from taylor swift and beyoncé concerts.

Tickets for the tour went on sale on Ticketmaster in November 2022, but the process went haywire , as the website crashed multiple times, prices fluctuated, sales were canceled and fans were left waiting for hours, only to end up empty-handed. The fiasco prompted Congress to investigate Ticketmaster's business practices.

Economists estimate her tour could generate $5 billion by its end in November 2024. The average Swift concertgoer has spent almost $1,300 to attend, including the price of a ticket, plus things like merchandise, hair and outfits and a hotel and flight for travelers, Maura Klaunig, an analyst at Camoin Associates, told NPR.

But if navigating marked-up resale prices isn't your jam, you can catch the show on the big screen for a fraction of the price. A standard ticket is $19.89 (a nod to the title of her 5th album, maybe?) and $13.13 for children and seniors. Upgraded tickets are also available for IMAX and Dolby.

Tickets have already gone on sale on the AMC and Fandango websites. The movie will have at least four showtimes Thursdays through Sundays at every AMC location.

In anticipation of the demand, AMC said it has strengthened its website and online ticket servers to handle "more than five times the largest influx of ticket-buying traffic the Company has ever experienced before." Members of AMC's Stubs A-List program won't be allowed to use their rewards or discounts for the film, and AMC is temporarily reducing the amount of online tickets sold for other movies.

Still, AMC warned that customers "may experience delays, longer-than-usual ticket-purchase waiting-room times and possible outages" and will try to fix them as soon as possible.

AMC is also partnering with other movie theaters, including Cinemark in the U.S., Cineplex in Canada and Cinepolis in Mexico to get Swift on more screens.

The film is directed by Sam Wrench, who is behind similar concert films featuring Lizzo, BTS, Mary J. Blige, Brandi Carlile, Billie Eilish, Jennifer Lopez and Pentatonix.

Taylor Swift's reign continues as she ramps up for the next leg of The Eras Tour. The singer-songwriter will kick off the European portion of her world tour in Paris in May, which will continue throughout the summer. From there, she'll return to North America to tour Canada and a few remaining US cities in the fall. If you're hoping to attend, we've compiled all of the details of The Eras Tour, including how to get Taylor Swift tour tickets.

Swift's Eras Tour has taken the world by storm since March 2023. The three-plus-hour tour features hits from each of Swift's album eras, from "Lover" to her recent Grammy Award-winning "Midnights." Each show also features surprise songs and occasional guests, so fans never quite know what they're in for. Swift will release her latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," in April, so the Swiftie hype will continue this spring.

Getting tickets has become its own battle and many fans have waited hours in the Ticketmaster queue to hopefully snag some seats, if they could get a presale ticket code in the first place. While Swift continues to extend the tour, including new US dates, tickets remain hard to come by.

Below, we've put together a guide on everything to know about The Eras Tour, including the tour schedule, ticket purchasing details, resale ticket prices, and the concert film streaming options . You can also peruse resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats at your leisure.

Taylor Swift international tour dates

The Eras Tour international dates resume on May 9 in Paris. The European tour will run until August 20 in London. UK prices are listed in pounds, and start times vary from city to city. Multiple shows have age restrictions for younger kids and specifics on seating and adult accompaniment. US dates start in October and can be found under the following table.

Taylor Swift North American tour dates

The Eras tour will return to the US on October 18 in Miami. In addition to the Miami shows, Swift will perform multiple dates in New Orleans and Indianapolis. On November 14, Swift will head to Canada for several shows in Toronto and Vancouver. All North American shows start at 7 p.m. local time.

How to buy tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 tour

Original standard tickets for Taylor Swift's 2024 sold out long ago for both international and domestic dates. All US tickets and many international tickets were sold through Ticketmaster , although select international locations used different services.

Tickets for most dates are available on resale websites like StubHub and Vivid Seats . These are generally higher-priced than the originals, which are no longer available. Keep in mind that some countries have rules regarding reselling tickets.

On StubHub, UK tour dates come with a note that ticket terms don't permit resale through unauthorized channels and might not be valid for entry. If this ends up being the case, StubHub notes that its FanProtect Guarantee will cover purchasers.

How much are Taylor Swift tickets?

Ticket prices vary by date and location. International resale tickets tend to be a bit cheaper than US resale tickets. It's worth noting that some of the cheapest tickets have restricted views.

StubHub's cheapest European tickets range from $311 (Madrid, Spain, on May 29) to £916 (London, England on August 19). The latter is around $1,139 in USD. The lowest prices for most shows are around $450 to $1,000. On Vivid Seats , the cheapest tickets for these dates go for $455 and $819, respectively.

When it comes to North American shows, the cheapest StubHub tickets range from $1,228 (Vancouver, Canada, on December 8) to $2,125 (Indianapolis, Indiana on November 1). Most of the cheapest tickets are priced between $1,200 and $2,000. On Vivid Seats, the cheapest Taylor Swift tickets on these dates start at $1,249 and $1,995, respectively. The two resale vendors generally have similarly priced offerings, but this varies from show to show.

Who is opening for Taylor Swift's tour?

Taylor Swift has a variety of opening acts, from up-and-coming singers to established groups. Opening acts vary by date. For the European leg of the tour, Paramore will open for Swift. In the US and Canada, Gracie Abrams will be the opening act.

Will Taylor Swift add more dates to the Eras Tour?

Taylor Swift has already added additional stops to her tour due to popular demand, including her US tour dates this fall. She also added additional dates to some of her European city stops, including bonus performances in France and the United Kingdom, among other locations. It's unknown whether Swift will end up adding even more tour dates, but by the end of the upcoming US leg she will have been touring for almost two years, so fans shouldn't be surprised if she takes a break.

Will The Tortured Poets Department be a part of the Eras Tour?

There's no word yet on whether "The Tortured Poets Department" will become its own era on the Eras Tour, or if any songs from the album will be performed during Swift's upcoming concerts. The concert is already about 3 hours and 15 minutes long, so it might be hard to add a full era to the setlist, but the surprise song portion of the show allows for some wiggle room. We'll keep this updated once the album comes out and the tour commences in May and let you know whether any TTPD tunes have made their way into Swift's concerts.

"The Eras Tour has been the most meaningful, electric experience of my life so far and I’m overjoyed to tell you that it’ll be coming to the big screen soon," Swift wrote on Instagram announcing the film. She added, "Eras attire, friendship bracelets, singing and dancing encouraged." ( We have some Eras Tour movie attire suggestions right this way .)

Unlike Swift's previous concert films and documentaries—including the film of her Reputation Tour , her Netflix documentary Miss Americana, and Folklore: The Long Pond Studio Sessions — the Eras Tour was not immediately released on a streaming platform. Instead, the pop star partnered exclusively with AMC theaters to release it.

On November 27, Swift announced on Instagram that the film will be available to rent on demand starting on her birthday, December 13. "Well, so, basically I have a birthday coming up and I was thinking a fun way to celebrate the year we’ve had together would be to make The Eras Tour Concert Film available for you to watch at home!" she wrote. "Very happy to be able to tell you that the extended version of the film including 'Wildest Dreams,' 'The Archer' and 'Long Live' will be available to rent on demand in the US, Canada & additional countries to be announced soon."

Live from Paris: Taylor Swift adds 'Tortured Poets' songs to Eras Tour in France

PARIS, France — The Chairman jump-started her tour after a two-month hiatus, and anticipation was high over whether Taylor Swift would incorporate her 11th era album into the Eras Tour set at La Défense Arena on Thursday.

She did and then some.

Swift extended the set list by one track to land at 46 songs. But many changes were made along the way. She added a new era for "The Tortured Poets Department," cut a handful of songs and rearranged most of the eras including combining the sets for "Folklore" and "Evermore."

She also debuted a number of new outfits along the way.

Delivering all the updates were Bryan West, the USA TODAY Network's full-time Taylor Swift reporter, from inside La Défense Arena in Paris, with Swiftie and trending reporter Anthony Robledo assisting from his desk.

We hereby present the minutes from the first Eras Tour meeting in Paris, France.

More: Taylor Swift unveils new Eras Tour set list in Paris

'Midnights' set follows secret songs

Swift stuck to her original set list for the "Midnights" era by singing "Lavender Haze," "Anti-Hero" and "Midnight Rain." She ended the night with a triumphant rendition of "Karma" as usual.

'loml' is second secret song

Fans got one more taste of "The Tortured Poets Department" when Swift played the heartbreaking song "loml" on the piano during her secret set.

'Paris' is a secret song, of course

Swift started her secret set with "Paris," a bonus song from her "Midnights" album.

'Tortured Poets' set list

Swift played these songs from her newest album:

  • "But Daddy I Love Him"
  • "So High School"
  • "Who's Afraid of Little Old Me"
  • "Fortnight"
  • "The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived"
  • "I Can Do It with a Broken Heart"

New 'Tortured Poets' set is here

Toward the end of her show, Swift officially launched the long-awaited “The Tortured Poets Department” section of the tour after the 1989 era.

Swift performed the track “But Daddy I Love Him” off the April 19 album for her ecstatic fans while wearing a new beige dress with cursive letters.

A road spiraled down the catwalk in an animation to initiate the era. The background animation showed a deserted road while large cages animated and fell on the road.

“Oh my god you should see your faces,” she sang.

She quickly segued into a brief moment of “So High School,” the beloved track speculated to be about her romance with Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce. She quickly performed the powerhouse anthem “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me.”

Swift switched to “Down Bad” before seamlessly transitioning into the lead single “Fortnight.” Stage production recreated an asylum that resembled the music video for the song with Post Malone, recorded harmony played concluding the song.

Dancers entered the stage in a marching band style format playing drums as she performed the wrath-fueled song “The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived.” Jan Ravnik and Kameron Saunders then revived Swift in a jazzy skit to set up “I Can Do With A Broken Heart,” where she debuted another new outfit.

“The End” text displayed wrapping up the era that’s likely here to stay. Other beloved tracks like “Guilty As Sin” and “Florida!” did not make the cut.

New '1989' outfit

Swift never goes out of Style. During her “1989” set, she debuted a new, sequined outfit of blue and pink. Her sparkly shoes matched with a different colored heel on each. For the bridge of “Blank Space,” the crowd started chanting in Sydney, Australia, “Syd-ney” as a nod to the 1989 World Tour concert movie where Swift would chant the name of the city she was in after hitting a pole with a club two times. Singapore followed the chant and Taylor Nation tweeted they want every city to incorporate the fan-fueled chant. In Paris, thousands chanted “Par-ee,” the French way to say the capital city.

Swift made no cuts to the "1989" set.

Four songs cut from 'Folklore' and 'Evermore'

The new set list cut four tracks from the "Folklore" and "Evermore" eras:

  • "'Tis the Damn Season"
  • "Tolerate It"
  • "The Last Great American Dynasty"

The combined set included eight songs altogether and wrapped up with "Willow."

'Folkmore' set debuts

Swift revealed she merged the 2020 pandemic albums “Folklore” and “Evermore” into one section. She told fans she wrote “Folklore” to represent spring and summer with “Evermore” representing fall and winter in what she always considered sister albums.

“On the Eras Tour we have now reunited the sisters, combined them into one chapter,” she said. “You can call it whatever you want as long as you promise to sing ‘Champagne Problems’ with me.”

'Folklore' set: 'Cardigan' makes the cut

Many fans had speculated "Cardigan" would be cut from the set list. But Swift actually moved it to the top of the "Folklore" set.

Up next: 'Reputation'

Swift kicked off her fifth set with "Ready for It?"

Another surprise: 'Speak Now' era comes fourth

Swift updated her "Speak Now" set with an intro dance featuring Raphael Thomas and eight other dancers wearing flowy purple dresses. She then sang "Enchanted."

Fan favorite track "Long Live" was cut from the set list.

Order of eras changed

After a fairly routine "Fearless" set, Swift altered her concert by including the “Red” era third instead of the expected “Evermore” set. Previously, "Red" came fifth.

With a new shirt that read “This Is Not Taylor’s Version,” the singer performed "22" and showed her audience that they needed to leave any expectations at home.

The relocated "Red" set included the same four songs: "22," "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together," "I Knew You Were Trouble" and "All Too Well (10-Minute Version)."

Beflore playing “All Too Well (10 Minute Version),” Swift talked about bringing all of her favorite memories to France. She did her 2019 “Lover” live show here but hadn’t brought a tour to the country since the Speak Now World Tour 13 years ago.“I cannot thank you enough. I’m so moved," she said.

Follow along with set list changes here .

First set list change

Swift cut "The Archer" from her "Lover" set before beginning her "Fearless" set in a silver and black minidress as opposed to her classic gold one. A graphic showed her "Lover" house with a new addition in the attic for "The Tortured Poets Department." Her "Fearless" set remained the same with "Fearless," "You Belong With Me" and "Love Story."

'Je m'appelle Taylor'

In her monologue before playing the song "Lover," Swift said the night would span 18 years of music. Previously, the concert covered 16 years. Get ready for a "The Tortured Poets Department" addition some time tonight.

She confirmed the tour would still go era by era, and also spoke about how Paramore is a band she idolized since she was a teenager. She ended with some French: "Je m'appelle Taylor."

First new outfit

Swift debuted a new, orange bodysuit and jacket for the "Lover" set.

Snippet of 'Tortured Poets' in intro

A snippet of the song "The Tortured Poets Department" was included in the intro music Swift kicks the concert off with. Is she foreshadowing other changes ahead? It seems likely.

Taylor Swift takes the stage

Swift took the stage about 8 p.m. in Paris (2 p.m. ET) to relaunch her Eras Tour in Europe. She kicked it off with a countdown clock and the Lesley Gore song "You Don't Own Me" as usual. Then she began her "Lover" set with "Miss Americana."

Paramore covers Blondie, Talking Heads in Paris set list

At the Paris show Thursday, Paramore energized fans with eight tracks including their cover off the upcoming “Stop Making Sense” tribute album out May 17 featuring artists like Miley Cyrus and Lorde.

Debuting a blond mullet, lead singer Hayley Williams encouraged fans to dance without fear of judgment ahead of Swift’s performance.

“Enjoy your time with Miss Taylor, we will see you next time,” Williams said.

Paramore's set list included:

  • "Hard Times"
  • "Burning Down the House" (Talking Heads cover)
  • "Caught in the Middle"
  • “Brick by Boring Brick”
  • “The Only Exception”
  • “That’s What You Get”
  • “Ain't It Fun”
  • “This Is Why”

Paramore begins their set

At about 6:45 p.m. in Paris (12:45 p.m. ET), Paramore began their set, officially restarting the second year of the historic Eras Tour. Lead singer Hayley Williams sported a new, blond mullet hairdo.

Paramore opens European leg of Eras Tour

The American rock band is joining Swift on her European leg of 51 shows. Paramore also opened the show for two nights in Glendale, Arizona, in 2023. Their setlist then included nine songs:

  • "This Is Why"
  • "That’s What You Get"
  • "The Only Exception"
  • "Still Into You"
  • "Rose-Colored Boy"
  • "Misery Business"
  • "Ain’t It Fun"

Where to watch the Eras Tour livestreams

The Eras Tour is one of the first tours that has been followed, globally, by thousands of fans on digital platforms. Fans dedicate part of their concert experience to livestreaming as Swift performs. Livestream Queen Tess Bohne has spearheaded the "Great War" to find fans going live on social media and broadcasting a custom show to tens of thousands of fans almost every night on her account @tessdear .

On YouTube, user @TaylorSwiftHockeyBro also livestreams the 3-hour show, and on Twitch, @folkleric is a host fans follow.

There is also an app, Swift Alert , that notifies fans who only want to watch certain eras like the acoustic, surprise set. The app also sends out push alerts if there are any major announcements.

What secret songs are left?

For the past 83 shows, Swift has had an acoustic set she customizes every stop with a guitar and piano performance. In 2024, the Eras Tour star added mash-ups of her songs for each stop. Here are the songs she has yet to perform:

  • "Taylor Swift" (debut album): "Mary's Song" and "A Perfectly Good Heart"
  • "Fearless": "The Way I Loved You," "Change," "Superstar," "We Were Happy," "That's When," "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby"
  • "Red": "Girl At Home," "Ronan," "Forever Winter" and "Run"
  • "1989": "Sweeter Than Fiction"
  • "Reputation": "I Did Something Bad"
  • "Lover": "London Boy," "Soon You'll Get Better" and "It's Nice to Have a Friend"
  • "Folklore": "Hoax"
  • "Evermore": "Happiness" and "Closure"
  • "Midnights": "Paris" and "Glitch"
  • "The Tortured Poets Department": all 31 tracks

US singer and songwriter Taylor Alison Swift, also known as Taylor Swift performs on stage at the ... [+] Paris La Defense Arena as part of her The Eras Tour, in Nanterre, north-western France, on May 9, 2024.

Taylor Swift thrilled fans with the addition of performances from her latest album The Tortured Poets Department when she kicked off the European leg of The Eras Tour in Paris on Thursday, May 9, 2024. She jokingly called that section of the show Female Rage: The Musical . Most concertgoers already knew and sang along to every word of all the songs she sang from the album even though it was released just a few weeks earlier on April 19. Such is the power of Swift.

In her long career of riveting live shows, her stunning performance of “Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?” may very well be her masterpiece so far. Swift is enjoying unprecedented success with her latest albums and tour, which showcase how she can tell a story like no other artist. Both her singing voice and her literary voice are stronger than ever, and it’s joyful to watch Swift embody and embrace her mightiness as a performer.

It's no wonder many fans are willing to travel hundreds or even thousands of miles for the chance to see Taylor Swift perform live. Since tickets sold out so quickly for the few remaining U.S. tour dates and resellers are aware of the intense demand, some fans discovered it was more doable to attend one of her international shows.

So, many fans in the U.S. and other countries have decided to make a vacation out of going to The Eras Tour in Europe this summer. If you are among them, here’s some advice on how to make the most of your international adventure.

Consider Your Lodging and Transportation Choices First

Before buying a ticket, be sure that you will have accommodations available. If you can book a hotel that’s within walking distance of a stadium and know the area is safe, that is ideal. Otherwise, check bus and train schedules for the night of your venue, then look at hotels that might be close to bus or train stops.

With tens of thousands of fellow concertgoers leaving at the same time, transportation can get tricky. If you book a room that’s farther from the venue, try to get a rental car instead of vying for a taxi or rideshare after the show. If you do that, just be sure parking will be available. You may need to buy a parking pass from the venue.

Also be aware that hotel room prices skyrocket when Swift is in town because there is such a high demand. If you are renting a car and don’t mind a longer drive, you can save a lot of money by booking a hotel room that’s a longer drive from the venue.

Enjoy The Moment

Amy Wilkinson, a 49-year-old Swiftie from Tucson, AZ, went viral in December 2023 for her reenactments of The Eras Tour performances using Elf on the Shelf dolls. She posted them to her Instagram, @Tswizzle_Momma , and found thousands of people watching each time she posted her videos. Like many other Swifties in the US, she is flying to Europe for The Eras Tour.

Wilkinson told me she had this advice for fellow fans going to the show abroad, “Enjoy the entire experience, from the moment you get on the plane until the morning after. You may be going for the concert, but the memories are made in the details. See the sights. Enjoy the food. Meet other Swifties. This is at the heart of what international travel is about.”

Make The Friendship Bracelets

Rebecca Bartley, a Swiftie from Nova Scotia, Canada, is going to Sweden to see The Eras Tour. She advises bringing friendship bracelets to share with fellow concertgoers on the night of your show. Wilkinson suggested making friendship bracelets in the language of the country where you’ll be seeing the show.

MARINA DEL REY, CALIFORNIA - OCTOBER 13: A Taylor Swift fan, friendship bracelet detail, attends the ... [+] opening night theatrical release of "Taylor Swift : The Eras Tour" at AMC Marina Marketplace 6 on October 13, 2023 in Marina del Rey, California. (Photo by Amanda Edwards/Getty Images)

It’s easy to learn how to make friendship bracelets. I had never dabbled in making jewelry before, but now I find great joy in creating friendship bracelets. I created dozens and handed them to fans at The Eras Tour movie.

To make friendship bracelets, I start by choosing the colors I want and which word or phrase I want the bracelet to express. Then I choose colorful beads and pick out all the necessary letter beads.

Next, I cut off elastic string. I find it’s best to use Stretch Magic elastic string because of its strength and durability. To make the bracelets, I cut off a piece of string that’s twice as long as I need so that there is ample room for cutting and tying multiple knots.

Then I tape one end of the string to my workspace, string the beads I have set aside until I feel like the bracelet is complete. Being careful to not let any of the beads slide off the string, I then wrap it around my wrist to see how it fits and then consider whether I am making the bracelet for a wrist that’s likely larger or smaller than mine. (Also, with elastic string, there’s room for a flexible fit.) I adjust accordingly.

As a last step, I make four to five knots in the string to tie off the bracelet. Many fans choose to add a dab of fabric glue to the end of the knot, but I found that got really messy and wasn’t necessary if you make multiple knots. Then I tuck the knots into one of the beads so that it doesn’t show on the bracelet. Then the bracelet is concert-ready!

Keep in mind that there are a lot of other ways to make friendship bracelets that are for more involved and creative that mine. And, if the idea of making friendship bracelets doesn’t sound fun to you, don’t worry. You can buy premade friendship bracelets on Etsy. Some Etsy shops like RainFoxx13 and BonniesBracelet have elaborate, beautiful friendship bracelets that you may want to keep for yourself. Others sell packs of friendship bracelets in bulk.

If you don’t want to trade friendship bracelets, that’s okay, too. The Swiftie community is accepting and supportive, and you still may get several bracelets as gifts.

What To Wear To The Eras Tour

There are no rules for what you should wear to Taylor Swift’s The Eras Tour beyond the guidelines from the venue. Some fans go casual, and others choose to dress to the nines for the show. Some fans choose to wear merch from Taylor Swift’s official store . Many fans choose to dress up in costumes inspired by Swift’s songs and lyrics.

With the release of The Tortured Poets Department and its video “Fortnight,” some fans are choosing to imitate some of her looks from the video. Others are wearing their interpretation of the incredible costumes she wears during The Eras Tour concert. Others look at past eras for inspiration. You are likely to see every era represented in fan costumes at a show.

What You Should Bring To The Eras Tour In Europe

Wilkinson advised me that the number one thing to bring is a portable phone charger. If you plan on recording video and taking photos, your phone’s battery may die down quickly, and a phone charger can ensure you can keep capturing the memories all night.

Earplugs are a good idea if you’re sensitive to loud noise. If you’re bringing kids along, they are a must. They ensure you can enjoy the music while protecting your ears.

Bring along a cardigan or jacket. Layering is a good idea for a concert during the summer. Although it may be hot in the stadium, you might be chilly on the way home from the show.

You can’t go wrong bringing along hand sanitizer and a travel pack of tissues. Even if you can get through “All Too Well” without tearing up, you may cry at the sheer excitement of the experience. It can be intense in the best way.

If you have tickets that are far back, bring along binoculars to see close-up details.

What To Avoid At The Eras Tour

Don’t come to the stadium with a big bag. If you haven’t attended stadium concerts before, you may not know that you need to carry a clear bag if you want to bring a purse. It also has to fit within the measurements allowed in the stadium, so you can’t just buy a clear backpack and expect to get in the show. Check with your show’s venue to make sure you follow their rules for what you can bring.

How To Get Taylor Swift Tickets In 2024

Tickets have already gone on sale for the rest of the currently confirmed dates of The Eras Tour for 2024. However, you can get secondhand tickets from resellers. It’s usually not a good idea to buy from individuals in Facebook groups offering to sell tickets. That’s hard to verify, and many are scammed that way. Instead, check with the individual venue to see how their resell process works. It varies throughout Europe depending on the country and the individual stadium.

Fans who considered buying tickets to Indy shows saved money at the Eras Tour shows in Paris

American Swifties felt like they were somewhere else.

Like they were in Paris.

No, wait, they were really in Paris.

Taylor Swift is back on the road again on the Eras Tour, and she performed in Paris, France over the weekend. Several American Swifties were in attendance at the shows because they found it was more affordable to buy tickets to the Paris show — and book flights and hotels than to even buy one ticket to one of the remaining U.S. tour dates.

Taylor Swift in Indianapolis, or Paris?

While at the Eras Tour show in Paris, Stephanie Gottschalk of Wisconsin told USA Today that she was looking at taking her daughter to one of the Indianapolis concert dates, but it was actually cheaper to go to France.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

"The tickets to go to Indianapolis, I checked, are like $5,000 a piece," Gottschalk told USA Today at the Eras Tour in Paris. "For us to fly here, stay in the hotel and buy the tickets was about $5,000. So half the price and we got to experience Europe. We got to see the Eiffel Tower."

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour On Track to Become Highest-Grossing Global Tour in History

The 2023 shows earned more than $900 million, Billboard estimates. That total could nearly double next year.

Taylor Swift

Taylor Swift ’s The Eras Tour is poised to become the highest-grossing global tour of all time, according to Billboard ’s estimates.

While no official numbers have been reported yet, Swift’s tour should pass current record-holder Elton John ’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road Tour with more than $900 million in ticket sales so far.

On Sunday (Nov. 26), Swift played her last scheduled show of the year, wrapping an intense run of 66 concerts in the United States, Mexico and South America. Representatives for The Eras Tour have not yet reported official revenue or attendance figures to Billboard Boxscore or any other trade journal or news entity, but the enormity of The Eras Tour is impossible to ignore, with a total that amounts to a staggering average of nearly $14 million per show.

9 Things Other Artists Can Learn From Taylor Swift’s Blockbuster Eras Tour

Dating back almost 40 years, all Boxscore rankings are based on figures reported to Billboard . Data is reported from a variety of official industry sources, from artist managers and agents to promoters and venue executives. Reporting has always been voluntary, and some artists, venues and promoters opt to withhold data from representation on our charts. It is not uncommon for artists to not report — or to wait until the end of a tour, which is still more than a year away in Swift’s case — though it’s rare that such a well-documented blockbuster tour, in contention for top year-end honors, is not submitted. Swift’s abstention disqualifies her from appearing on year-end Boxscore charts .

Swift kicked off The Eras Tour in Glendale, Ariz., on March 17, playing 53 domestic shows before wrapping at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, Calif., outside Los Angeles, on Aug. 9. She hit a total of 20 U.S. cities, and 11 of those venues have provided attendance figures to Billboard . Based on those numbers, as well as estimates based on aggressive scaling at the other nine stadiums, Swift likely sold 3.3 million tickets over 53 shows in the United States, or an average of 63,000 tickets per show.

Sources close to the tour point to an average domestic ticket price of around $252. This is in line with the prices for the summer’s other major concert event, Beyoncé ’s Renaissance World Tour, which maintained a $135 ticket in Europe and a $253 ticket in North America. While ticket prices might dip in certain markets and bloom in others, using that number as an average puts the U.S. leg of The Eras Tour at $838.3 million. That total gross spreads out to $15.8 million per show, a staggering figure that exceeds recent tours by Bad Bunny , Beyoncé, and The Rolling Stones , each of which had giant totals of their own.

That projected $838 million haul is more than enough to make Eras the highest-grossing U.S. and North American tour ever. John’s Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour holds the official Boxscore title, with $567.7 million in the United States and Canada. That total reflects 135 shows over a span of four years, compared to Swift’s 53 shows in less than six months.

Moreover, The Eras Tour’s U.S. gross would situate it as the second-highest grossing tour of all time based on global figures, before even crossing the border. John’s farewell tour remains the official record-holder with $939.1 million.

Since wrapping the Eras Tour’s U.S. leg, Swift played four shows at Mexico City’s Foro Sol (Aug. 24-27) and, more recently, nine South American shows, spread between Buenos Aires in Argentina and Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro and Sao Paulo. Those dates bring her much closer to John’s global record, even based on relatively conservative projections. But as we’ve seen with virtually every worldwide stadium tour in the last two years, the post-pandemic surge in ticket prices hasn’t been as severe outside the United States.

Further, these are Swift’s first shows in these Latin American markets. That means pent-up demand likely drove huge sales, though her base isn’t quite as explosive there as it is in the States.

Taylor Swift's Biggest Scalper for the Eras Tour: Her Fans

Based on estimates considering the high end of grosses and ticket prices for each Latin American venue’s post-pandemic history, The Eras Tour likely earned another $60 million to $75 million and more than 750,000 tickets from those 13 shows.

In all, Billboard estimates that Swift has generated $906.1 million and sold 4.1 million tickets in 2023 across all shows in the United States, Mexico and South America. That would unofficially make The Eras Tour the biggest tour of 2023. And when considering Swift’s total revenue from the tour, it doesn’t even account for merchandise sales, sponsorships, music streaming and sales boosts, or her self-produced and released Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour concert film.

Swift is scheduled to resume The Eras Tour on Feb. 7 with four shows at the Tokyo Dome in Japan. Then, she’ll play seven shows in Australia and six in Singapore. In May, she kicks off a 50-date run in Europe before returning to North America for 18 shows in new markets, including the tour’s first entry into Canada. In all, that’s 85 shows to go, with the possibility of more to come, considering her recent concert additions to runs in London and Vancouver.

These upcoming international legs are already more ambitious than any previous Swift tour. While this year’s 53 U.S. shows are in line with what she did on 2018’s Reputation Stadium Tour and 2015’s The 1989 World Tour, those treks included just six and seven shows in Europe, respectively — a fraction of next year’s slate of 50.

8 Sweetest Moments Between Taylor Swift & Young Swifties on The Eras Tour

If we use the comparison between Beyoncé’s recent European and North American grosses as a north star, in Europe, Swift could be looking at $8.5 million per show, or about $420 million over the entire leg. And even if next year’s North American shows dip from 2023’s record-breakers, the U.S. and Canada shows could add another $240 million to 260 million. Including the 17 shows in Asia and Australia, The Eras Tour is likely headed toward a total gross of $1.6 billion to $1.7 billion by the end of 2024. It will be the first in history to earn more than $1 billion in ticket sales and will set Swift far apart from her competitors. If figures skew toward the higher end of what’s possible, she could double John’s current record gross.

Representatives for Swift did not respond to a request for comment on Billboard ‘s estimates at press time.

Photos from Taylor Swift's Eras Tour Paris show reveal new Tortured Poets Department outfits

Taylor Swift singing passionately into a microphone, in a white dress shaking her head

Taylor Swift's two-year world tour has resumed after the release of her new album Tortured Poets Department, with the European leg kicking off in Paris.

Swift's Eras Tour began in March last year, with dozens and dozens of shows since then.

Given it has been going on for so long, fans have compiled comprehensive information about set list and costumes for the tour.

There are slight variations at her shows, with some slots in her set list for what fans have dubbed "surprise songs".

And she's worn various iterations of the same costume.

However, generally speaking, the shows have been pretty much the same each time.

But, because this was her first show since Tortured Poets Department, there was much speculation about how different it would be from previous shows .

So there was a lot of focus on Thursday night's show in the La Defense Arena in the French capital.

New outfits

Swift wore a white dress with lyrics to Tortured Poets Department songs on it, with the structured fabric looking like pages of paper.

She incorporated an on-stage costume change into her act.

Swift took off the white dress to reveal a sparkly black two-piece, throwing a gold jacket over the top.

We'd not seen that on stage before.

But there were also changes to regular costumes — including the colours in the Lover bodysuit and the slogan on the T-shirt she wears while singing the song 22.

Previous iterations of that shirt had said "WHO'S TAYLOR SWIFT ANYWAY? EW." and "WE ARE NEVER GETTING BACK TOGETHER LIKE EVER".

Taylor Swift singing in a white singlet top dress with a full skirt with lyrics written on it

New set list

We didn't have an ABC reporter on the ground in Paris to compare the set list to her Australian shows.

So for news on this front we went to a social media account run by an anonymous Taylor Swift fan for updates.

That may sound fraught, but @tswifterastour has become the authoritative — albeit unofficial — voice on all things Eras Tour, with more than half a million followers. ( Cosmopolitan did a great interview with the person behind this account, if you're interested .)

It's the account behind that "seemingly ranch" tweet that went viral last year, if that means anything to you.

Then we cross-referenced that with a report from the BBC .

What new songs are on the Eras Tour set list?

Here are the new songs that Swift performed in Paris on Thursday night:

  • But Daddy I Love Him
  • So High School
  • Who's Afraid Of Little Old Me?
  • The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived
  • I Can Do It With a Broken Heart

What songs were cut?

Here are the songs that used to feature on the set list but weren't played by Swift:

  • The Archer (Lover)
  • Long Live (Speak Now)
  • The 1 (Folklore)
  • The last great American dynasty (Folklore)
  • 'Tis the damn season (Evermore)
  • Tolerate it (Evermore)

And with new songs came new dance numbers and props.

The battle is still on to try to get tickets to Taylor Swift's The Eras Tour, with the singer performing in Toronto in November and in Vancouver in December. But some Canadians have taken matters into their own hands to celebrate "The Tortured Poets Department" artist, planning a fan experience titled "Toronto’s Version: Taylgate ’24."

Throughout all six dates of the Swift's sold out tour dates in Toronto (Nov. 14 - 16 and Nov. 21 - 23), fans can head to the city's Metro Toronto Convention Centre to take over the North Building. Set to run between 1:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m. ET each day.

The idea is that fans with tickets can meet up and celebrate with other Swifties before the show, and those without tickets can still have a communal Swift celebration. Activities will include an area to make and exchange friendship bracelets, places to add a little more sparkle to their Eras Tour glam, and there will also be live DJ sets, sing-along spaces and Taylgate merchandise for purchase.

There are also plans to have a parent and guardian "waiting lounge" for anyone picking up Swift fans from the concert.

"I have two teenage daughters and they want a place to hang out with all their friends – not just the ones they’re sitting with at the show," a statement from event producer and co-founder Bram Goldstein reads. "With our venue being steps from the Rogers Centre, this event just made sense."

"We have a commitment to create the best possible experience for the artist’s fans and Torontonians; both those who did and didn’t get tickets to the big show," Joel Wolinsky, producer and co-founder of the event said in a statement.

Tickets to "Toronto’s Version: Taylgate ’24" are available for $55 at torontosversion.com for all six dates. While there haven't been any brand sponsorships announced yet, the event organizer have committed to supporting of two charities: Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Canada and Daily Bread Food Bank .

“We look forward to welcoming fans for Taylgate ’24, and we’re thrilled to be hosting this fantastic event,” Christine Tse, vice president of marketing and communications at the Metro Toronto Convention Centre said in a statement. "Special events like this play a crucial role in drawing out-of-town visitors to Toronto and generate such a positive impact on the local economy."
