Adele announces first European tour dates since 2016 with four nights in Munich

The British star will perform at Munich Messe on 2, 3, 9 and 10 August. The shows will be her first in Germany since May 2016.

Adele has announced she will play in Europe for the first time since 2016, with four nights booked in Germany.

The Grammy-winning singer shared on social media that she will be performing in Munich's Messe exhibition centre - which boasts a capacity of 80,000 - in a booking she called "a bit random".

At the end of 2023, she was asked if she wanted to perform a summer run of shows in Germany , saying: "I've been content as anything with my shows in London's Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn't had any other plans."

Adele explained however that she was "too curious to not follow up and indulge in this idea" to come back to Europe.

"A one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on? Ohh!?," she said.

"Pretty much slap bang in the middle of Europe? In Munich? That's a bit random, but still fabulous!

"Right after the Euros? Come on England! With the Olympics next door? Go on Simone! And some of my favourite artists playing shows too? Why…YES!! I haven't played in Europe since 2016!"

She signed off the post saying "Guten Tag babes," and shared a link where fans can register for tickets.

The 'Someone Like You' hitmaker will perform at Munich Messe on 2, 3, 9, 10, 14, 16, 23 and 24 August.

According to setlist.fm, which tracks live performances, Adele has played in Germany just 14 times.

Her last show in the country was on 15 May 2016, at the Lanxess Arena in Cologne. Her first ever was at the Stage Club in Hamburg back in 2008.

Adele is also performing the last leg of her Las Vegas residency Weekends With Adele, which runs through to mid-June.

Ticket registration for the Munich shows is open now at Adele.com and closes on 5 February. General sale then opens to the public on 9 February.

The mum-of-one will takes to the stage at Open Air Arena, Messe München for four dates across two weeks in August - Friday 2nd August 2024, Saturday 3rd August 2024, Friday 9th August 2024, Saturday 10th August 2024. Artist presale starts at 10am on Wednesday 7th February, with the general sale commencing two days later.

Writing on Instagram this morning, the award-winning singer told fans: “So a few months ago I got a call about a summer run of shows. I’ve been content as anything with my shows in London’s Hyde Park and my residency in Vegas, so I hadn’t had any other plans. As her epic world tour came to an end in 2017, Adele warned fans she probably wouldn't tour the globe again - penning a heartfelt note to fans on Instagram after playing the first of four massive shows at London’s Wembley Stadium. In the handwritten note, the mum-of-one told followers: "So this is it after 15 months on the road and 18 months of ’25’ we are at the end. We have taken this tour across UK + Ireland, throughout Europe, all over America and I finally got to go to Australia and New Zealand too."

"Touring is a peculiar thing, it doesn’t suit me particularly well," she continued. "I’m a real homebody and I get so much joy in the small things. Plus I’m dramatic and have a terrible history of touring. Until now that is! I’ve done 119 shows and these last 4 will take me up to 123, it has been hard out an absolute thrill and pleasure to have done."

She added: "I only ever did this tour for you and to hopefully have an impact on you the way that some of my favourite artist have had on me live. And I wanted my final shows to be in London because I don’t know if I’ll ever tour again and so I want my last time to be at home. Thank you for coming, for all of your ridiculous love and kindness. I will remember all of this for the rest of my life. Love you. Goodnight for now."

As Adele ‘s 25   shatters sales records on both sides of the Atlantic, the singer announced Thursday that she’ll embark on a 34-date European tour starting in February. “I have been bluffing this whole time and I’m so relieved to finally tell you that I am of course coming on tour, and I can’t wait to see all of your there,” Adele said of the European trek.

Adele made the announcement in an amusing Facebook video where she stumbled in multiple attempts to alert her fans of the news. The singer also provides a geography lesson of the European continent while using a light-up wand that keeps malfunctioning.

The 25 tour kicks off February 29th at Belfast, Ireland’s SSE Arena and circles the European continent for 34 shows, concluding with June 12th and 13th with a pair of gigs at Antwerp, Belgium’s Sportpaleis; Adele will also perform two shows at Paris’ AccorHotels Arena on June 9th and 10th. Adele is yet to announce any official tour dates for 30 but she has already got some special performances lined up.

Adele 's fourth album 30 is finally here and there is already huge demand for a tour, but fans may have to wait a while for one.

Given that Adele is one of the most successful recording artists of all time, it's no surprise that people always want to watch her perform live. In fact, Adele is so popular that more than 2.9 million people paid for tickets to see the 32-year-old sing all of her hits on her Adele Live 2016 tour in support of her previous album 25 . However, she hasn't toured live since then.

Naturally, people are begging for Adele to do a 30 tour. With that in mind, here's what she's said about taking it on the road.

Will Adele do a 30 tour?

Speaking on SiriusXM's Hits 1 , Adele explained: "This album? No, probably not. I’d love to. I was actually desperate to tour, which for me is wild because I don’t like touring. I got into the swing of it last time and obviously I’ve gone up to stadiums. Without sounding spoiled, it’s easier because there’s less shows, you reach more people, you get to stay in place."

Adele then added: "It doesn’t sit right with me putting an album out this year and then touring it in 2023." While she didn't specify exactly why she won't tour, it seems likely that it's due to the complications of coronavirus restrictions and Adele wanting to spend time with her son.

While there won't be a 30 tour, Adele is performing two one-off concerts in the UK. She will be performing in Hyde Park on July 1 and July 2 in 2022. Tickets for both dates have sold out though. Some are being resold but at much higher costs than the original tickets.

As it stands, Adele is yet to announce any more one-off live concerts in the UK, US or elsewhere but we shall update you if she does.

How to get tickets for Adele’s 2024 tour in Munich, including price for European dates

The singer will be returning to the European stage for the first time in eight years as she confirms a string of Munich shows

It’s a big, big day for Adele fans in  Europe . In a surprise social media post on January 31, the multiple Grammy Award winner announced that she’ll be performing a string of shows in Munich , Germany this summer. Other than her run of shows at London’s Hyde Park  in 2022, this will be the first time the singer has performed in Europe since 2016, so it’s a pretty big deal.

When is Adele going on her European tour in 2024?

Adele will play ten nights in August at Munich’s  Messe , an open-air stadium with a capacity of 80,000. The original confirmed dates are August 2, 3, 9 and 10, but shows on 14, 16, 23 ,  24, 30 and 31  have now been   added due to such high demand. 

When do tickets go on sale for her Munich shows?

According to Adele’s official website , those wanting to buy pre-sale tickets had to register first. Registration is now closed, with those who registered sent a link to buy pre-sale tickets on Tuesday, February 6. The official pre-sale starts today, on Wednesday, February 7 , at 10am CET . Mark your calendars!  

Ticketmaster pre-sale starts  2pm CET on Thursday, February 8 . And i f you miss out on pre-sale tickets? No need to Cry Your Heart Out. General sale tickets will be available at 10am CET on Friday, February 9  via Ticketmaster .

How much will tickets cost?

It been reported that standing tickets are priced at €369.90-€419.90 (£315.31-£357.93) while rear seats are priced at €74.90-€119.90 (£63.85-£102.20), and front seats are €369.90-€399.90 (£315.31-£340.88).

What’s been said about the tour so far?

The venue in which Adele will perform will be created exclusively for her residency – the singer said in her statement it’ll be ‘a one-off, bespoke pop-up stadium designed around whatever show I want to put on’. Who knows what that will look like, but it’s pretty much guaranteed that the pop icon will put on a belter of a show. Prepare to sob through the ballads and laugh along with her trademark banter.

Where is Adele doing her residency?

Adele will be taking up a ten-night residency in Munich this summer, but until then she’ll continue with her Las Vegas residency.  ‘Weekends with Adele’ had  a wildly successful premiere in November 2022, and late last year it was announced that the singer’s Vegas residency will run until the summer at the Colosseum at Caesar’s Palace, with the final show scheduled for June 15, 2024. 

Is a world tour on the cards?

Other than her current Las Vegas residency and upcoming Munich shows, Adele has no further tour dates scheduled. The ‘Easy On Me’ singer said in her statement that she ‘hadn’t had any other plans’ and that playing in Munich is ‘a bit random, but still fabulous’. It doesn’t sound like she’ll be heading out on a world tour anytime soon, but never say never.
