Rumoured Dates For The Rolling Stones Live 2023 Start To Surface

by Paul Cashmere on February 14, 2023

While it has been confirmed The Rolling Stones will release their first album of original material since 2005 in coming months, dates for a North American tour are also starting to surface.

Rolling Stones fansite iorr.org has been compiling expected dates for the 2023 tour. All dates at this stage are listed as “rumoured” and the site has also issued a disclaimer to not book travel until the dates are confirmed.

So far its looking like:

18 June, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada 30 June, Chicago, USA 8 July, Foxborough/Boston, USA 20 July, Cleveland, USA

UPDATE 16 Feb 2023: An announcement for a Stones 2023 tour has been delayed

While the dates may or may not be accurate, what the intel coming through is showing is that any 2023 activity will most likely centre on North America.

The Rolling Stones ‘Sixty’ 2022 tour was Europe only. It began in Spain on 1 June 2022 and ended in Germany on 3 August 2022.

The 2021 ‘No Filter’ tour was North America only. It started in Foxborough, Massachusetts where the 2023 tour is rumoured to be heading and ended in Florida on 23 November 2021.

The 2019 No Filter dates were all North America, starting in Chicago on June 21 2019 and ending in Florida on July 19 2019.

2018 dates were all in Europe, 2017 were Europe, 2016 where North America and South America, 2015 were only in North America and 2014 was a world tour that ended in New Zealand after dates in Australia, Europe and Asia. 2013 was North America, 2012 was Europe and they were the first dates since the A Bigger Bang tour that ended in 2007.

Between 2012 and 2022 The Rolling Stones have toured annually with the exception of the 2020 pandemic year.

Endurance is now the big question for The Stones. Mick Jagger will turn 80 on 26 July, a week after the rumoured Cleveland date. He had a heart valve replaced in 2019. Keith Richards will turn 80 in December. Ronnie Wood is 76 in June.

It is unlikely that any live activity will turn into a World Tour but considering a new album will be released before mid-year, the summer of 2023/2024 may see some activity back in Australia and New Zealand for the first time since 2014.

After all, Mick’s mum Eva was born on Sydney. January is also cricket season in Australia and cricket is Mick’s favourite sport. A tour, a family visit and a spot of cricket may just be the way to celebrate turning 80.

Hi there. The Rolling Stones in Prague the best show ever. The concert was absolutely amazing, fantastic, super great. The performance of the Rolling stones is in the highest quality, they are the living legend,I love them for ever and wish to all of them the best off everything. Thank you for unforgettable experience. So this was about the show, but I would like to tell you my worst nightmare I also had just before the concert. I bought three tickets from Viagogo office and to my horror I find out that the tickets were not valid and they were not in database. I paid 23.000KC.So to get to the event I've had to buy another three tickets for standing. THERE WAS MORE fans off the Rolling stones with some experience. I don't what to do about the matter. So this was MY best experience and the worst. Yours Luda Horakova Krasicka 53 Prostejov Czech republic .

The greatest rock n roll band in the world - No doubt about it. Mick, Keef, Charlie and Ronnie were sensational. From the opening Street Fighting Man to the encores of Gimme Shelter and Satisfaction they were as great as ever. Mick was the imperious frontman, Keith the axe wielding lunatic, Charlie the rock upon which the driving rhythms of Paint it Black are built, Ronnie the joker whose rhythm guitar convinces you the Stones play the devil’s music. Sensational just sensational. It was a privilege to be there.

The Rolling Stones concert was absolutely amazing. The singing, the music, the lighting, the fireworks and those large screens were great. They strutted their stuff through all the favourite numbers and some other great songs. Before you go, read the list of items not allowed inside the concert because you will lose them. Handbags larger than A5 size not allowed, including bumbags, cameras and camera bags, to name a few. All in All, everything went very smoothly, everyone loved it and we all had an amazing night, never to be forgotten.

Rolling Stones change North American tour announcement plans, according to fan site

Rolling Stones fans in Cleveland will apparently have to wait awhile to get their satisfaction.

Last week, the trusted Rolling Stones Fan Club fan site It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll ( iorr.org ) reported rumors of a summer North American tour that would include a July 20 stop at FirstEnergy Stadium. Over the weekend, however, the site changed its tunes, reporting that, “The announcement of the Rolling Stones tour this summer has been canceled. The tour was including twelve shows in the USA and two shows in Canada. There might be a rescheduling for the fall.”

The Rolling Stones’ camp has not commented about touring plans for 2023, although guitarist Keith Richards, in a social media message last month, said that “there’s some new music on its way and hopefully we’ll get to see you.” The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame troupe has reportedly been working on a new album -- the first since the Grammy Award-winning covers album “Blue & Lonesome” in 2016 and the first of original material since “A Bigger Bang” in 2005 -- in New York and the Bahamas with producers Don Was and Andrew Watt.

The Stones were to bring its No Filter Tour to FirstEnergy on June 19, 2020, but that was postponed by the pandemic and ultimately canceled. The group hasn’t played in Cleveland since 2002, when its Licks Tour played at Gund Arena (now Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse).

The group did play in 2015 at Ohio Stadium in Columbus. The band has performed 11 times in Cleveland, starting in June of 1964 at Public Auditorium and including the World Series of Rock in 1975 at the old Cleveland Stadium.

The Stones ranked No. 7 on Forbes magazine’s new list of 2022′s highest-paid entertainers with $98 million.-- have not played in Ohio since drummer Charlie Watts passed away in 2021 at the age of 80.

In addition to their own new music, the Stones will be the subject of an all-star “Stone Cold Country” tribute album due out March 17.

Rolling Stones Celebrate 60th Anniversary With European Summer Tour

Rolling Stones 2022 tour

The Rolling Stones have announced dates for their 60th anniversary tour, their second jaunt since the death of founding drummer Charlie Watts last August. The European summer tour will take in fourteen shows in ten countries across the contintent and will present the premiere of “a brand new ‘Sixty’ production,” starting in Madrid on June 1.

The announcement notes that the group will be playing its first concert in Liverpool in more than 50 years, followed by two shows in London’s Hyde Park. The tour follows the group’s successful U.S. stadium tour last fall, which was rescheduled from 2020 and according to the announcement sold more than 500,000 tickets.

While the announcement makes no reference to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, the tour keep mostly to western European countries, with Vienna being the city closest to the conflict (and several hundred miles away). The Stones have toured extensively in eastern Europe over the years and in fact were the first Western rock band to perform behind what was then the “Iron Curtain,” in Warsaw in 1967.

The announcement states: The Stones, once again joined by Steve Jordan on drums, will be treating fans to a set list like no other, packed full of classics such as ‘Gimme Shelter’, ‘Paint It Black’, ‘Jumpin’ Jack Flash’, ‘Tumbling Dice’, ‘(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction’, ‘Start Me Up’ and many more. However, it wouldn’t be a Rolling Stones gig without some surprises each night and a selection of unexpected tracks from their formidable arsenal of songs will also be popping up in the set list. As always with the Stones, there will be a spectacular new RS ‘SIXTY’ production, including a massive stage, cutting edge lighting and state of the art video design, all to be unveiled for this long-awaited European tour.

The Rolling Stones North American tour, sponsored by AARP, will kick off April 28, 2024, in Houston. Tickets go on sale for the general public Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. local time. AARP members now have access to a presale.

The band will perform in 16 cities across the U.S. and Canada, and will feature classic hits as well as music from their new album, Hackney Diamonds . The Stones last toured the U.S. in 2021 with their “No Filter” tour.

Hackney Diamonds , which just nabbed a Best Rock Song Grammy nomination for the lead single “Angry,” is the iconic band’s first set of originals since 2005’s A Bigger Bang. The title is drawn from British slang for the shards of glass left after a scofflaw smashes a windshield or window. Writing for AARP, music critic Edna Gundersen called the album “off the hook.”

“For those who doubted the Stones could match the greatness of past glories, ‘Hackney’ will come as a gratifying surprise. It crackles with the familiar grit, tattered pomp and dirty riffs that built their brand,” Gundersen wrote.

On the album, core members Mick Jagger , 80, and guitarists Keith Richards, 79, and Ronnie Wood, 76, are joined by Matt Clifford on keyboards, Darryl Jones, 61, on bass, and new drummer Steve Jordan, 66, handpicked by the late Charlie Watts as his replacement. Watts, who died in 2021 of cancer, and original bassist Bill Wyman, 86, who left the band in 1993, appear on tracks recorded in 2019.

the rolling stones tour 2023

Six decades after their first U.S. tour, the Rolling Stones are still commandeering stages.

The venerable rockers will embark on a 16-city jaunt April 28 in Houston to support their well-received new album , “Hackney Diamonds,” and plug into their extensive hits parade.

The stadium tour, sponsored by the age-appropriate AARP , will also hit cities including Las Vegas, Atlanta, Philadelphia and Los Angeles. The band will detour May 2 to play the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. local time Dec. 1 via ticketmaster.com.

It hasn't been too long since the band worked stadium stages: In September 2021, they resumed their No Filter tour , which had been on a 16-month pandemic delay.

The Stones – Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood – are basking in a bit of a studio revival with “Hackney Diamonds,” their first new album since 2005 .

The album debuted at No. 1 on the U.K. albums chart and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 album chart, making them the first act with a top 10 album each decade since the 1960s.

The single, “Angry,” is nominated for best rock song at the Grammy Awards on Feb. 4. (The band has three career wins .)

“Hackney Diamonds” is also the Stones’ first album since drummer Charlie Watts died in 2021.

The band premiered songs from the album at an intimate, invitation-only show of a few hundred people at the Racket NYC club in October, running through a handful of visceral new tracks and leaning into classics including “Shattered” and “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” with youthful vigor. Lady Gaga, who sings on the album track “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” joined Jagger for a thunderous duet.

The Rolling Stones Announce 2024 Stadium Tour in Support of 'Hackney Diamonds' Album — See the Dates!

The Rolling Stones' upcoming 16-date run marks the U.K. rock band's first U.S. concerts since 2019's No Filter Tour

MARK SELIGER

The Rolling Stones are taking Hackney Diamonds to North America!

On Tuesday, the legendary U.K. rock band announced the Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds, sponsored by AARP, a 16-date run of stadium concerts across the United States and Canada set for next year.

Kicking off April 28 in Houston, the Rolling Stones will perform shows in cities including New Orleans, Las Vegas, Seattle, Atlanta, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and more before wrapping on July 17 in Santa Ana, California.

The Stones Tour '24 Hackney Diamonds marks the "Jumpin' Jack Flash" group's first time returning to the U.S. for an official string of concerts since 2019's No Filter Tour — as well as its first since the death of longtime drummer Charlie Watts in August 2021.

Tickets for the upcoming tour go on sale Dec. 1 at 10 a.m. local time, with more information available at the Rolling Stones' website .

Before releasing Hackney Diamonds last month, the band held an intimate concert at club Racket in New York City, where members Mick Jagger , Keith Richards and Ronnie Wood performed songs including such as “Shattered,” “Angry,” “Whole Wide World” and "Jumpin' Jack Flash."

The performance also included the live debut of Hackney Diamonds track "Sweet Sounds of Heaven" with a surprise appearance from Lady Gaga , who provides guest vocals on the song.

The Stones  announced  Hackney Diamonds   at a press event in London earlier this month, where Jagger, Richards and Wood took the stage to talk to  Jimmy Fallon  about the album.

"We wouldn't have put this album out if we didn't really like it," Jagger, 80, said to Fallon. "We must say that we are quite pleased with it. We’re not big-headed but we hope you like it."

In an emotional moment, the trio also touched on what it was like to record the album without Watts. "Ever since Charlie’s gone it’s different, he’s number four," Richards, 79, said. "He’s missing, he’s up there. Of course he's missed incredibly."

NEW YORK, NEW YORK - OCTOBER 19: (Exclusive Coverage) Ronnie Wood, Mick Jagger and Keith Richards ... [+] backstage before The Rolling Stones surprise set in celebration of their new album “Hackney Diamonds” at Racket NYC on October 19, 2023 in New York City. (Photo by Kevin Mazur/Getty Images for RS)

The Rolling Stones mounted a huge comeback in 2023 with their long-awaited album Hackney Diamonds . The set marked their first wholly original project in well over a decade, and excitement around the title was incredibly high. The set was a huge success commercially, and it may bring the band back to the Grammys–and perhaps even help them tie with some of their esteemed colleagues.

Several singles from Hackney Diamonds are eligible for recognition from the Grammys, and the band has a shot at returning to the Best Rock Song category. The field focuses on the best-written rock tracks of the year, as it’s a songwriter’s award.

The group’s most likely nominee is “Sweet Sounds of Heaven,” a duet with Lady Gaga. They could also go with “Mess It Up,” the third and seemingly final single from Hackney Diamonds . What they submit for consideration may not be chosen for a few months, but either way, the Rolling Stones may be on their way to another Grammy nomination.

If Mick Jagger and Keith Richards–the band’s songwriters, who are jointly credited on all the songs on Hackney Diamonds (except for one cover)—return to the Best Rock Song category, they’ll break their tie with several other beloved rockers. So far, the duo has earned three nods in this vertical. That puts them on par with Neil Young, Melissa Etheridge, Matt Bellamy from Muse, Dan Auerbach and Patrick Carney from the Black Keys, and plenty of other stars.

If Jagger and Richards score their fourth nomination together, they’ll advance on the list of the most-nominated songwriters in rock history and join several other superstars. A fourth nod will tie the Rolling Stones members with Coldplay, Kings of Leon, the Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Jack White for one of the most impressive accumulations of nods. So far, the record belongs to Bruce Springsteen, with 10 chances to win.

The Rolling Stones were nominated for this honor at the most recent ceremony. Their single “Angry” from Hackney Diamonds ended up in the running for Best Rock Song, though it lost to “Not Strong Enough” by Boygenius.

The fact that “Angry” was nominated for Best Rock Song just this past year shows that Grammy voters are still very interested in the band and their current work. If they could snag a nod for that single, there’s every reason to believe they may return to the field in a few months.

Deep Purple announces 2024 tour with Yes. Get tickets today

In 1972, Deep Purple released the iconic “Smoke On The Water.”

Now, 52 years (!) later, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famers will celebrate their mega hit on their ‘1 More Time Tour’ with fellow Rock Hall inductees Yes all summer long.

Along the way, Ian Gillan and co. are scheduled to make five New York and New Jersey stops.

First, the heavy hitmakers drop into Camden, NJ’s Freedom Mortgage Pavilion on Friday, Aug. 30.

After that, the London natives swoop into Holmdel, NJ’s PNC Bank Arts Center on Aug. 31, Wantagh, NY’s Jones Beach Theater on Sept. 1 and Saratoga Springs, NY’s Saratoga Performing Arts Center on Sept. 4.

Deep Purple closes their NY run at Bethel’s Bethel Woods Center For The Arts on Sept. 6.

For fans that can’t wait to rock out to “Hush,” “Highway Star,” “Space Truckin'” — and of course “Smoke On The Water” — tickets for all North American concerts can be picked up as soon as today.

Although inventory isn’t available on Ticketmaster until Friday, April 12, fans who want to ensure they have tickets ahead of time can purchase on sites like Vivid Seats before tickets are officially on sale.

Vivid Seats is a secondary market ticketing platform, and prices may be higher or lower than face value, depending on demand.

They have a 100% buyer guarantee that states your transaction will be safe and secure and will be delivered before the event.

A complete calendar including all North American tour dates, venues and links to buy tickets can be found below.

The band closed the North American leg of their 2023 tour in Orlando on Feb. 21.

According to Set List FM , here’s what Deep Purple performed — including guitar, keyboard and bass solos — that evening:

01.) “Highway Star”

02.) “Pictures of Home”

03.) “No Need to Shout”

04.) “Nothing at All”

05.) “Guitar Solo”

06.) “Uncommon Man”

07.) “Lazy”

08.) “When a Blind Man Cries”

09.) “Anya”

10.) “Keyboard Solo”

11.) “Perfect Strangers”

12.) “Space Truckin'”

13.) “Smoke on the Water”

14.) “Hush” (Joe South cover)

15.) “Bass Solo”

16.) “Black Night”

Being together for 56 years doesn’t mean Deep Purple doesn’t have more to give to the world.

In 2022, the band reached deep into their archives and dug out “ Extras: The Infinite B Sides and Bonus Songs”  which is a must for any Purple superfan.

However, what we found most interesting was the band’s latest record of original music, 2021’s bluesy, New Orleans-y  “Turning To Crime.”

Featuring epic rock (“7 and 7 Is”) as well as lively party startin’ tunes (“Rockin’ Pneumonia and the Boogie Woogie Flu”) and covers from B.B. King (“Let the Good Times Roll”) and Cream (“White Room”), the album is certainly a departure from the hard rockers’ heavy fare they’re famous for.

Still, for our money, the best track on the record is the Southern-fried rock and roll number “Oh Well.”

We’ve been listening to it on repeat all day.

You can hear the jubilant  “Turning To Crime” album in its entirety here .

After over 50 years together — they formed in 1968 — the core of Deep Purple remains the same.

Should you attend a show, here’s who you’ll likely see take the stage:

Ian Gillan lead vocals, harmonica, percussion (1969–1973, 1984–1989, 1992–present)

Roger Glover bass, keyboards, occasional backing vocals (1969–1973, 1984–present)

Ian Paice drums (1968–1976, 1984–present)

Don Airey keyboards (2002–present)

Simon McBride guitars, backing vocals (2022–present)

This tour is a twofer.

Joining Deep Purple on the road are fellow Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Yes.

The long-running prog band is known for their hits like “Owner of A Lonely Heart,” “Roundabout,” “I’ve Seen All Good People” and many, many more.

If you want to dive into their deep catalog, you can find all of Yes’ music here .

It’s hard to believe the ’60s were over 50 years ago now.

Still, many acts that defined the sound of the groundbreaking musical era are still kicking it and on the road this year.

Here are just five of our favorite acts that have been rocking out since Nixon was in office that you can see live in the next few months.

•  Rolling Stones

•  Robert Plant with Allison Krauss

•  Bob Dylan with Willie Nelson

•  Ringo Starr

•  Graham Nash

The Wait Is Over: Billie Eilish Announces New Album ‘Hit Me Hard and Soft’

By Angie Martoccio

Angie Martoccio

It’s been three years since Billie Eilish released a new album, but the wait is over: Hit Me Hard and Soft will arrive May 17.

The album cover features Eilish underwater, barefoot and sinking beneath a white wooden door. According to the release, Hit Me Hard and Soft is meant to be listened to all the way through — a cohesive body of work. “Not doing singles I wanna give it to you all at once,” Eilish wrote on Instagram . “ Finneas and I truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it.”

Though the album marks Eilish’s first full-length in three years, she’s released new music since Happier Than Ever. In 2022, she surprise-released the EP Guitar Songs (which contained the two tracks “TV” and “The 30th”). And last year, she contributed the tear-jerker “ What Was I Made For? ” to the Barbie soundtrack, which became a massive hit. The ballad won Song of the Year  at the 2024 Grammys and took home Best Original Song at the Academy Awards, the latter making her the youngest person to ever win two Oscars (she and Finneas first took home the award in 2021 for the James Bond theme “No Time to Die”).
