What planes does tom cruise own.

Let’s take a look at Tom Cruise’s aircraft collection.

  • Tom Cruise is a licensed pilot with qualifications as a multi-engine instrument-rated pilot and helicopter flying skills.
  • Cruise owns a collection of airplanes, including a vintage P-51 Mustang fighter from World War II and a Gulfstream IV G4 jet.
  • There may be additional aircraft in Cruise's fleet, such as a HondaJet and a Bombardier Challenger 300 jet, according to a travel expert.

It wasn't just a show for 'Top Gun.' Tom Cruise is one of the few actors who genuinely love aviation. He has been a licensed pilot since 1994 and is able to fly several types of aircraft. However, it doesn't stop with a license. The famous Hollywood actor also has a collection of airplanes varying from vintage fighters to business jets.

What kind of license does Cruise have?

In various discussions, Tom Cruise has revealed that his affinity for aviation was crucial to his initial attraction to the original 'Top Gun.' He shared that he holds qualifications as a multi-engine instrument-rated pilot and has continued to enhance his skill set throughout his life. Notably, he acquired helicopter flying skills for the remarkable stunts seen in the 2018 film 'Mission Impossible: Fallout.'

Plane collection

North American P-51 Mustang fighter

During a segment on The Late Late Show, Cruise took host James Corden for a ride in his own vintage P-51 Mustang fighter plane. Tom Cruise acquired this World War II fighter in 2001, which was initially built in 1946.

The P-51 Mustang was an American long-range fighter bomber that served alongside other conflicts during World War II and the Korean War. It was developed by North American Aviation and was retired in 1984. Nevertheless, even today, the fighter is utilized for air racing by civilian pilots. After being donated to an Illinois museum, the plane underwent restoration in 1997.

Making his recent performance in ' Top Gun: Maverick ,' Tom Cruise takes to the skies in the P-51 Mustang fighter. What adds intrigue to this is the revelation that he wasn't just portraying the pilot on screen – he was actually at the controls of his very own P-51 Mustang fighter.

Gulfstream IV G4 jet

With an estimated price tag of $20 million, this jet boasts the capability to accommodate as many as 19 passengers. Notably, it reportedly comes furnished with luxuries, including a jacuzzi and a dedicated movie-screening room, according to Business Insider.

The Gulfstream IV G4 is a long-range executive jet designed and built by Gulfstream , a General Dynamics company based in Savannah, Georgia, United States, from 1985 until 2018. Its production spanned from 1985 to 2018, resulting in over 900 G4 units taking to the skies. This jet can cover distances of up to 7,100 kilometers and achieve a top speed of 850 kilometers per hour.

Is there more?

Whether the actor has more aircraft in its fleet has been under speculation as it was never officially confirmed. But according to a Business Insider report, in addition to the vintage fighter jet and the Gulfstream IV G4, Jack Sweeney, who is famous for reporting the travel habits of numerous celebrities, including Elon Musk, said he has been able to identify Cruise's HondaJet and a Bombardier Challenger 300 jet.

For 'Top Gun: Maverick,' Tom Cruise flew a jet, experienced up to 8 G's: 'You can't act that'

tom cruise in a fighter jet

Tom Cruise is no slacker when it comes to doing his own action movie stunts . But does he really need to be flying his own fighter jet as six cameras record his every move inside of the cockpit for a film?

Yes, absolutely he does!

And that's what the star, and some of his cast mates, have done for "Top Gun: Maverick," the highly anticipated sequel that arrives 34 years after the original.

In a featurette for the movie released Wednesday, Cruise defends his decision to eschew CGI for actually piloting a jet. "You can't act that, the distortion in the face. They’re pulling 7½, 8 G's. That’s 1,600 pounds of force," he says.

So it's no surprise that the video shows actor Danny Ramirez nearly vomiting in the cockpit.

Need a break? Play the USA TODAY Daily Crossword Puzzle.

"It is heavy duty," says Cruise. No kidding.

Adds new co-star Miles Teller, who plays Goose's son, "Rooster": "Putting us up in these jets, it's very serious. That's why everybody thought it would be impossible. I think when Tom hears that something's impossible or it can't be done, that’s when he gets to work."

Trailer: Tom Cruise is training the next generation in new 'Top Gun: Maverick' sequel

In "Top Gun: Maverick," Cruise's character, Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, is a test pilot who finds himself training a detachment of Top Gun graduates for a specialized mission, "the likes of which no pilot has ever seen," according to a release from Paramount.

But Cruise, 57, seems up for the challenge of acting as the leader for such a mission. Even if it makes him woozy and out of breath, as we see in the new promo clip.

"Top Gun: Maverick" is set for theaters in June.

Can Tom Cruise fly fighter jets? When he got his pilot’s licence and how much of Top Gun he’s flying for real

Tom cruise is famous for his commitment to realism, and frequently performs his own stunts.

The much anticipated Top Gun: Maverick i s about to hit the big screen, and critics are already raving about the quality of the flight scenes.

Tom Cruise is famous for his commitment to realism, frequently performs his own stunts, and even broke his ankle while filming Mission Impossible in London in 2018.

But does the daredevil do his own flying? Here’s everything you need to know.

What can we expect from the new Top Gun ?

Pete “Maverick” Mitchell is back and is still feeling the need for speed. His bosses have him in their line of fire, but he remains the best navy test pilot around and commands respect from his flying colleagues.

There is a seemingly impossible mission to blow up an Iranian uranium enrichment plant and Maverick is dispatched to train up an elite team of graduates for the task.

Expect some breathtaking aerobatic displays which, judging by the critics and not entirely surprisingly, outstrip those of the original.

Geoffrey Macnab, writing in i , said “the aerial photography is every bit as spectacular as you would expect”.

This image released by Paramount Pictures shows Tom Cruise portraying Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in a scene from "Top Gun: Maverick." (Paramount Pictures via AP)

The sequel, he adds, “defies cynicism and confirms Tom Cruise’s status as Hollywood’s ‘mission leader’ when it comes to blockbusters ”.

Deadline Hollywood praised the film saying it “tops the original in every way imaginable” adding it is “an example of Hollywood filmmaking at its zenith”.

The original Top Gun was released on 16 May, 1986 and went on to become one of the most famous films of the 80s.

In 2015, the United States Library of Congress selected the film for preservation in the National Film Registry, deeming it “culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant”.

Is the flying real?

Cruise is well known for doing his own stunts, and he has built that reputation through decades of action films such as the Mission Impossible and Jack Reacher movies.

“People had asked for a sequel for decades,” Cruise told the PA News service. “And the thing I said to the studio from the beginning was: ‘If I’m ever going to entertain this, we’re shooting everything practically. I’m in that F/A-18, period.”

The cast of Maverick underwent serious training in how to cope in the air, meaning the footage you see is in fact real, not CGI.

The course was developed by Cruise, lated three months, and included tuition in underwater evacuation, aerial aviation and flight itself.

They were also prepared for the dynamic pressures of G-force.

They started in single-engined planes, moved on to a Czech-designed jet trainer called the Aero L-39 Albatros, and then the F-18 Super Hornet.

Miles Teller, who plays ‘Rooster’ the son of ‘Goose’ from the original film, explained: “We trained for this for a long time, Tom had us in a flight programme for several months before we ever started filming.

“But it was never something you really ever got, like, super comfortable with, at least for me. It was something that every time I went up, it really tested me and I felt like I wanted to puke pretty much every time.”

The team also learned to operate cameras and about cinematography as they were essentially filming themselves up there.

But were they actually in control of the aircraft?

Despite this training the Navy did insist on having trained officers at the controls of the F-18 Super Hornet, which is worth £56m.

Glen Roberts, the chief of the Pentagon’s entertainment media office, said a regulation bars non-military personnel from controlling a Defence Department asset other than small arms in training scenarios.

Instead, the actors rode behind F/A-18 pilots, and external shots are of trained Navy pilots.

Cruise, who has been a licensed pilot since 1994, did fly a P-51 propeller-driven fighter plane and a few helicopters for the movie.

The planes aircraft carriers and military bases are also real locations.

Who else stars in the Top Gun: Maverick ?

The cast includes:

  • Tom Cruise as Captain Peter “Maverick” Mitchell, a test pilot
  • Miles Teller as Lieutenant Bradley “Rooster” Bradshaw
  • Jennifer Connelly as Penelope “Penny” Benjamin
  • Val Kilmer as Lieutenant Tom “Iceman” Kazansky
  • Jon Hamm as Vice Admiral Beau “Cyclone” Simpson
  • Ed Harris Rear Admiral Chester “Hammer” Cain

It was directed by Joseph Kosinski and written by Ehren Kruger, Eric Warren Singer, and long-time Cruise collaborator, Christopher McQuarrie.

Top Gun: Maverick is dedicated to the director of the original Top Gun , Tony Scott, who died in 2012.

Lady Gaga has co-written Hold My Hand , the lead song for the sequel’s soundtrack’s.

Those who remember the original Top Gun will recall its big hit song was Berlin’s You Take My Breath Away . It won an Oscar for Best Original Song.

When is Top Gun: Maverick released?

It is set for release in UK cinemas on 27 May.

Tom Cruise

The Cannes Film Festival literally kicked into overdrive (overflight?) on Wednesday as Tom Cruise and his Top Gun: Maverick team touched down on the Palais for a high-octane premiere that included eight fighter jets zooming above the event, expelling smoke in red and blue to match the colors of the French flag.

The actor was already destined to be the biggest draw of Cannes 2022 long before he hit the Croisette, where Top Gun: Maverick is getting splashy promotion by Paramount ahead of its global rollout on May 25. But even by the festival’s own standards, Cruise received the sort of rapturous reception that could only befit one of Hollywood’s most successful and globally renowned stars. And after the final frame hit the screen close to 10 p.m., the audience responded with a six-minute standing ovation that brought Cruise to tears, closing out an epic day.

Having taken part in a career retrospective earlier in the day — a “MasterClass Conversation” with French journalist Didier Allouch in the 1,000-seat Debussy Theatre — Cruise was gifted with another tribute before the screening, led by Canned festival director Thierry Fremaux, in honor of his long-running career at the center of international pop culture. Fremaux delivered remarks (in French) and introduced a 13-minute clip reel that showcased every entry on his filmography.

Cruise hugged Fremaux (who encouraged the audience to put down their phones and put their hands together) before taking the microphone to share remarks, inviting all the filmmakers in attendance to stand and be recognized and shouting out his close collaborators at Paramount. “They all worked so hard to bring this to the big screen, and it’s a dream to be here,” Cruise said. “I’m never going to forget this evening.”

Elle Fanning may not either. The actress, a L’Oreal ambassador and frequent Cannes attendee, was seated in the Palais and received a special shout-out from Cruise. He recalled meeting her while working with her sister, Dakota, on the 2005 blockbuster War of the Worlds .

He then turned his attention back to the festival and his love for cinema. “Thank you for this time,” he said. “I make these movies for all of you.” Fremaux then offered a special surprise, announcing that the festival was presenting Cruise with a Palme d’Or. Cruise, looking speechless, accepted with a “Wow,” as the audience stood up for another standing ovation, one of the only times in recent memory that an actor has received multiple standing ovations prior to the first frame of a film hitting the screen.

But before all that took place, Cruise arrived at the Cannes red carpet just before 7 p.m. and spent a healthy 10 minutes cruising up and down the street to greet fans, some of whom had been waiting for hours under the blazing Côte d’Azur sun for the movie star to emerge. He made it worth their while by signing autographs and DVDs and posing for selfies.

As seen on the Palais big screen, he had to be pulled away from the crush of admirers to make his way in front of the swath of photographers and pose alongside his director, Joseph Kosinski, and blockbuster producer Jerry Bruckheimer. They were joined by fellow Top Gun: Maverick stars Jennifer Connelly, Miles Teller, Jon Hamm (who straightened Cruise’s bow tie on the carpet), Glen Powell, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis, Lewis Pullman and others.

Top Gun: Maverick has been winning rave reviews from critics since it made its world premiere earlier this month in San Diego atop the retired aircraft carrier USS Midway .

“Your enjoyment of Top Gun: Maverick might depend on how much you’re willing to shut out the real world and surrender to movie-star magic,” wrote   THR chief film critic David Rooney. “Which this superior sequel — directed with virtuoso technical skill, propulsive pacing and edge-of-your-seat flying sequences by Joseph Kosinski — has in abundance.”

Tom Cruise Used One Of His Own Planes In Top Gun: Maverick's Final Scene

Tom Cruise smiling

Nearly 40 years after Tom Cruise flew into our hearts with 1986's "Top Gun," its sequel, "Top Gun: Maverick," has proven that there is still plenty of fuel in the tank for audiences to enjoy. Released during the 2022 Memorial Day weekend, the film, which follows Pete Maverick ( Tom Cruise ) returning to the Top Gun program in order to train a new crop of pilots for a dangerous mission, became a record-breaking juggernaut at the box office. Upon its opening weekend, the film earned over $160 million, becoming the most successful film to open during Memorial Day weekend, besting the previous record-holder, "Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End" (via Deadline ). "Maverick" would go on to become the year's current highest-grossing title (via Variety ) with a worldwide box office gross of over $1.4 billion (via Box Office Mojo ). On top of that, the film was lauded by critics and audiences alike, boasting a 96% score on Rotten Tomatoes .

Among the film's most beloved aspects are its daring arrays of stunts and plane flying sequences. "Maverick" saw a different challenge as the rest of the cast had to go through rigorous training in order to direct themselves while simultaneously performing their many high-flying action scenes (via The Independent ). For stunt guru Cruise, however, this was clearly a great chance for him to allow his immense love of aviation to shine once again. And he would do this by showing off his own impressive air vessel in the film.

Cruise's P-51 Mustang is his pride and joy

The end of "Top Gun: Maverick" would see the use of a P-51 Mustang where Rooster, which Maverick uses to fly with his love interest, Penny (Jennifer Connelly). The impressive machine, which was originally built as a fighter jet in the 1940s for use in World War II, belongs to Tom Cruise. "You know if 'Top Gun' was made in the 1940s ... this airplane is the star of the show," says "Top Gun: Maverick" technical advisor Steve Hinton in a behind-the-scenes featurette (via YouTube ). "Airplanes today are very computer-oriented and P-51 is all push, pull, cables, nothing's automatic." To promote the film's release, Cruise even brought late-night television host James Corden into the plane for a special flight — much to Corden's dismay (via YouTube ).

While Cruise may be well-known for his daring array of stunts within such movies as the "Mission: Impossible" franchise, the actor also has a real-life need for speed, owning a varied collection of valuable automobiles, motorcycles, and planes. This should come as no surprise, considering that Cruise obtained his pilot's license in 1994 (via Style ). His plane collection is especially impressive, as he is reported to own upwards of five private jets, including a Gulfstream IV G4 jet, which he originally got for his then-wife, Katie Holmes. Even his famous Mustang would sport "Kiss Me, Kate" on its side for some time until the two broke up (via Forbes ).

Tom Cruise Takes James Corden to the Danger Zone with Frightening Flight in 'Top Gun' Fighter Jet

Monday's Late Late Show with James Corden featured the host going on a pair of flights with Top Gun: Maverick star Tom Cruise

James Corden feels the need — the need for a speedy landing.

The Late Late Show host, 43, had an adventurous two days with Tom Cruise on Monday night's show, joining the Top Gun: Maverick actor for a terrifying trip in the air on a pair of fighter jets.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime getaway that Corden wasn't necessarily excited about. In a package of the high-flying experience, he played as an unwilling participant in Cruise's plan — admitting, "When Tom Cruise calls, you sort of have to say yes."

Cruise, for his part, was thrilled to be palling around with Corden again, as the 59-year-old actor previously jumped out of an airplane with Corden while promoting 2018's Mission: Impossible — Fallout .

"I'm very excited that James is doing this," Cruise said, before piloting Corden in both planes. "Was he the first late night show that I asked? Hell no. He was just the first one, the only one , to say yes."

To kick things off, Cruise took Corden for a ride in a 1944 fighter airplane, Corden quickly putting up a sign in the window that said "Help Me."

Things got serious when a dueling plane popped up to challenge them. "We're in a dog fight," Cruise said, as Corden screamed, "I don't give a s---."

"You did good," Cruise assured Corden after they landed, the comedian teasing, "The fact that this is your idea of a fun day out tells me how different we are as human beings."

Just when Corden thought he'd survived, Cruise informed him the two would be going up again, this time in a jet fit for modern aerial warfare.

Amid Corden's "I don't want to do it" objections, Cruise told the host, "You are my Goose," a reference to his Top Gun character's best friend in the original 1986 movie.

"When you said I'm your Goose it makes me feel excited and then I realize that Goose dies in the film," Corden explained in response. "You're the first half of the film Goose," Cruise insisted. "That 'You've Lost that Loving Feeling' Goose."

"That's the Goose I want to be," Corden quipped. "I want to be in a bar, singing..."

From there, Cruise and Corden followed through with some additional Top Gun experiences (like a game of volleyball and a camping getaway) before heading up in their flight.

"You look like a fighter pilot, I look like a hamster," Corden said, as they suited up for the flight.

Corden loosened up for his second flight, even channeling his "Carpool Karaoke" segment by singing Kenny Loggins' "Danger Zone" and Bob Seger & The Silver Bullet Band's "Old Time Rock and Roll" — two tunes famously featured in Cruise's movies.

But when Cruise started stunting, even flipping the plane upside down, Corden got scared. "Oh my God," he screamed. "This is absolutely ludicrous. This is the craziest thing... this is the stupidest thing I have ever done."

"You absolute bastard," he told Cruise. "I've got an idea, why don't we fly straight for a bit?"

"Okay, we'll fly straight," Cruise said, before flipping them over again.

Back on the ground, Cruise praised Corden for how he handled it all. "You can be my wingman anytime," he said.

"You know what, I think I'm good," joked Corden.

Top Gun: Maverick opens in theaters on Friday. The long-awaited sequel sees Cruise making his triumphant return as Capt. Pete "Maverick" Mitchell, this time returning as an instructor for the elite fliers three decades after his graduation from the TOPGUN Naval aviation program.

Among his young charges is Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw, the son of Goose ( Anthony Edwards in the first movie). Miles Teller , who plays Rooster, is among the actors cast as new class of pilots. Also joining are Glen Powell , Greg Tarzan Davis and Lewis Pullman .

Aside from the hands-on skills required for the film, Cruise still had more to share with his costars, when the training was over and the cameras turned off.

"There were times after we were wrapped for the day, we would spend an hour circled around him, listening to the stories that he's been through," Davis, 28, told PEOPLE in a new all- Top Gun special edition .

Added Pullman, 29, "Every one of the pilots has a story of him talking about what he thinks is great about them, what they can do with that quality. He teaches you, basically, how Tom Cruise became Tom Cruise ."

The Late Late Show with James Corden airs weeknights (12:30 p.m. ET) on CBS.

James Corden had no need for speed, but “ Top Gun: Maverick ” star Tom Cruise gave him heaping doses of it anyway in a vintage fighter plane and a modern jet fit for warfare. (Watch the video below.)

Between the two missions to promote his pilot sequel on “The Late Late Show” Monday, Cruise gave Corden a crash course, “Top Gun” style. He tried to assure Corden that the talk host is his Goose, but Corden took no comfort in that because Goose died in the original “Top Gun.”

He’d just have to trust in Tom, who of course pulled stomach-wrenching maneuvers that included flying the jet upside down.

Corden went skydiving with Cruise in a bit a few years ago. This time, he warned the action hero that if he dies: “I’ll haunt you the rest of your life.”

What Planes Will Tom Cruise Fly in 'Top Gun: Maverick'?

It looks like Maverick is flying the F/A-18 Super Hornet this time.

Font, Poster, Cool, Album cover, Photography, Vehicle, Jacket, Movie, Fighter pilot, Digital compositing,

The Top Gun sequel is finally happening.

Rumors had circulated that greatest flying movie ever made would be getting a sequel. Tom Cruise ratcheted up the excitement yesterday by posting the following image to his Instagram account, with the hashtag #Day1 to indicate the first day of filming the new movie, called Top Gun: Maverick .

Font, Poster, Cool, Album cover, Photography, Vehicle, Jacket, Movie, Fighter pilot, Digital compositing,

So how might a Top Gun movie look this time around?

Well, 32 years have passed since Maverick and Iceman played volleyball and flew fighter jets. The original Top Gun featured Tom Cruise as Lt. Pete “Maverick” Mitchell, flying an F-14A Tomcat fighter with Ltjg. Nick “Goose” Bradshaw as his Radar Intercept Officer. The two took off from the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise and flew against a mysterious enemy, most likely Soviet pilots, flying the new MiG-28 fighter.

Airplane, Aircraft, Air force, Aviation, Vehicle, Military aircraft, Fighter aircraft, Flight, Grumman f-14 tomcat, Jet aircraft,

What we know so far is that Maverick is a flight instructor in the sequel, and that his new ride is the F/A-18E/F Super Hornet strike fighter, probably the two-seater “F” version to give him someone to talk to in the movie. Unlike the Tomcat, which at the time was a strictly air-to-air fighter, the Super Hornet has an air-to-ground role, opening up the possibility that the pilots of Top Gun 2 could take on enemies on the ground.

Aircraft, Airplane, Air force, Military aircraft, Aviation, Fighter aircraft, Vehicle, Aerospace manufacturer, Mcdonnell douglas f/a-18 hornet, Jet aircraft,

What about the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter, the latest fighter jet to join the U.S. military? The Navy is purchasing 273 F-35C models, which feature larger wings, slightly longer range, and strengthened landing gear designed to take punishing takeoffs and landings. Eventually the Navy will field 20 squadrons of F-35C, with two out of four fighter squadrons on every carrier equipped with the stealthy F-35.

The F-35C is a fundamentally different plane than the the original F-14A, or even today’s Super Hornet. It relies on remaining hidden to kill and survive, and ideally shoots down enemy planes from beyond visual range, without the enemy knowing it is there. That's a smart way to fight a war, but it makes for a lousy Top Gun movie. The Super Hornet, on the other hand, could still get into aerial knife-fights with the enemy. (Also, the F-35C is a single seat plane, meaning no clever, cocky cockpit banter.)

Aircraft, Airplane, Fighter aircraft, Military aircraft, Air force, Aviation, Vehicle, Flight, Jet aircraft, Rocket-powered aircraft,

The original T op Gun featured aerial encounters and dogfights against Soviet pilots over the Indian Ocean. If the Top Gun sequel is modeled after real-life events, we could see its flyboys mixing it up against Russian pilots over the Baltic Sea, with the new Sukhoi Su-57 fifth-generation fighter as the bad guy jet. The Su-57’s stealth could introduce a lot of dramatic tension as American pilots struggle to stay one step ahead.

Another possibility is the sunny South China Sea, where Maverick could fly against Chinese carrier-borne J-15 fighters of the People’s Liberation Army Navy. Alternately, they could fly in the East China Sea against Chinese Su-35 fighters or even the new Chengdu J-20 stealth fighter. This is somewhat unlikely from a marketing perspective, however, as China is a major movie market and making Beijing the antagonist is a surefire way to prevent Top Gun 2 from hitting Chinese theaters.

Tom Cruise hilariously torments James Corden with aerial stunt in a fighter jet

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

On The Late Late Show Monday, Tom Cruise took James Corden to Top Gun training school, which ended up being super awesome and totally hilarious. Before airing the clip, Corden prefaced it by saying everything "is completely real" and he "was completely terrified."

At 4:56 a.m. at the Burbank Airport, Cruise picked up Corden in a private plane, where Cruise himself flew them to the desert. Some might remember the last time Cruise was on the Late Late Show in 2018, when he forced Corden to go skydiving. Now, Cruise is promoting his highly anticipated Top Gun sequel, Top Gun: Maverick , so it was only fitting that this time around they stay in the plane, but with Cruise as the pilot.

"You're not a pilot, you're an actor," a skeptical Corden pointed out.

"With all due respect, you played a lawyer in A Few Good Men , I wouldn't want you to represent me in court, OK? I'm going to go up in a 75-year-old plane with somebody who is not a pilot," asked Corden before he took off running in the opposite direction.

Eventually, Cruise got Corden strapped in, where he warned him that, should the engine catch fire, he would "get rid of the canopy, pitch the nose up 45 degrees and then go inverted" and ultimately "dump" Corden out of the airplane. Understandably, the late-night host was petrified.

Corden had a tough time with that first flight, even feeling a little sick when he finally got back on stable ground. So you could imagine his reaction when Cruise pointed to a modern fighter jet, and told him they would be going up in that plane next.

However, after some Top Gun training, a little bit of singing, and even a conga line that included a small model airplane, Corden was strapped in and on the highway to the danger zone.

Of course, it wouldn't be a Tom Cruise flight without Maverick going inverted, which he proceeded to do after telling Corden he would "just fly straight."

"I love you and I hate you at the same time. That was absolutely outrageous," said Corden.

Back in the studio, Corden admitted that 24 hours before filming the segment, he emailed Cruise saying that he got cold feet and needed to back out. Fortunately, Cruise would not accept that, and called up the host saying, "It's going to be OK. I would never do anything to put you in danger. And I promise you if you do this I think it will be a day you will never, ever forget."

In the end, Corden told Cruise, "I am so thrilled that you convinced me to do it," as they embraced each other in a hug.

The Late Late Show With James Corden   airs weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on CBS .

‘He has an iron stomach’: Meet the man who put Tom Cruise in the sky for Top Gun 2

One man had the unenviable task of helping tom cruise defy gravity in this summer’s biggest blockbuster. he tells tom murray about stunt work, sick bags and getting so close to a fighter jet that you could feel the heat of its engines, article bookmarked.

T om Cruise is carving through a canyon at 450 miles per hour. He rears up his F-18 fighter jet, all eight Gs visible in the lines of his face, before inverting the aircraft and diving. This is just one of the exhilarating action sequences that have made Top Gun: Maverick one of the most lauded films of the year. Fans and critics alike have sung its praises, and since its release a week ago, it’s so far grossed an estimated $176m (£140m) in North America alone. It also had Cruise’s biggest opening weekend as a movie star – a maddening statistic considering his storied career.

Most importantly, though, it’s shown the continued strength of Cruise himself. While other stars turn to superhero franchises for big box office returns, here’s one man able to carry the weight of an entire blockbuster solely on his shoulders.

Cruise repeatedly touches the sky in the film, but who actually put him there? That job fell to Kevin LaRosa Jr, Top Gun: Maverick’ s aerial coordinator and lead camera pilot. FaceTiming from his house near an airfield just north of Los Angeles, he detailed how the film pulled off its gravity-defying stunts – little of which used CGI – and what it was like being responsible for one of the most famous men on the planet. And a man who – just to add a bit more pressure to LaRosa’s job – insists on doing his own stunts.

No stunt double required

Cruise is known for being a physical actor, preferring to jump off buildings himself rather than have someone else do it for him. He famously broke his ankle while jumping from one building to another in Mission: Impossible – Fallout , after which he got up and finished the scene. While hanging onto the side of an Airbus A400 plane in Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation , Cruise was hit in the chest by a rock. He’d remark it “felt like a bullet”. “If a larger rock hit him in the chest, or smaller debris hit him in the face, then the show’s over,” director Christopher McQuarrie told New York Daily News in 2015.

It’s this kind of devotion to his craft that’s helped Cruise become an industry legend. However, with Cruise busy barrel-rolling through the sky in a fighter jet, LaRosa admits to sometimes wishing that Hollywood’s biggest star didn’t quite have to do all the work himself. “We all think that way, right? Tom absolutely does things on this movie where I’m sitting there going, ‘Oh boy, that was crazy’.”

A pilot with pedigree

LaRosa is a second-generation stunt pilot and a third-generation pilot, with a CV that includes the likes of Iron Man, The Avengers and Transformers . His father had even worked with Cruise before on Mission: Impossible III.

When he was initially offered the job on Maverick , LaRosa let out a yell so loud that he scared his own family. Initially brought on as just the camera pilot, LaRosa impressed producers so much that they promoted him to coordinator, which involved briefing the cast and crew before and after each flight. LaRosa led hours of briefings with the Navy before and after every stunt was performed. “Everything in aviation has inherent risk,” he says. “But those risks are negated with excellent briefings, risk-mitigation plans and rehearsals. We call it excellence in repetition.”

The pressure of a sequel

From the off, Cruise made it clear to the Maverick team that they were at a “disadvantage”. The original Top Gun transformed Cruise into the superstar he is today. Despite mixed critical reception, the film made over $350m (£279m) at the global box office off a $15m (£11m) budget, and, thanks in part to an inescapable soundtrack, became as synonymous with the Eighties as shell suits. “When you want to make a sequel to a movie such as Top Gun , you’re going to have all the critics, all the eyes, all the attention on you,” LaRosa says.

Basically, they needed to hit a home run, and Cruise gave a number of speeches on set to invigorate the crew. According to LaRosa, Cruise told them: “We’re making a sequel to a very historic and iconic movie and we need to obtain a level of perfection with Top Gun: Maverick that has not been seen in the cinematic world before.” LaRosa pauses – “Those are big words!” he says with a laugh.

The training programme

LaRosa also helped Cruise put together the rigorous, three-month flight training programme for the rest of the cast, which included being rotated underwater in an ejection seat to prepare for emergencies. “Aside from training them to be pilots, they needed to check the boxes to be able to fly in the navy aircraft and go and do the same training that those naval aviators do,” LaRosa says. Ultimately, they needed to know how to survive in the event of an emergency taking place on a fighter jet.

As for being rolled around underwater: “It’s not something you look forward to doing.” However, LaRosa added that actor Monica Barbaro (Phoenix), who previously said her training as a ballerina gave her a “high pain tolerance”, impressed the most during training. “Monica just did incredible, [she was]really good with G-forces.”

Close enough to feel the afterburners

“It looks like you’re right there because we are literally right there,” LaRosa says. Filming in the sky, he’s the one in the camera jet, lining up the shot just “10 to 15 feet” behind the F-18s flown by Navy pilots. That means being close enough to “feel the heat from the afterburners”, or the burning fuel that comes out the back of a jet engine.

Anyone who’s seen the movie will know that the stunts are breathtaking to watch. In one memorable scene, the Top Gun pilots must perform a death-defying slalom through a canyon at tree-scraping altitude to avoid detection by the enemy. The low-level flying, LaRosa recalls, was as real as it looks in the movie – in fact, it felt even hairier from the cockpit. “I think that it’s difficult to tell just how low and fast we’re going,” La Rosa says, who adds that the pilots had “a target number of 100 feet above the trees and rocks”. “When you’re doing three, four or 500 knots through canyons, that’s up there.” He added that some Navy pilots were able to drop below that floor of 100 feet.

Unlike Marvel movies, Maverick didn’t rely on the use of CGI for its aerial stunts: “Everything was actually shooting a real aircraft.”

Pass the sick bag

Due to the extreme G-forces the cast were subjected to, there was a lot of vomiting involved in filming, but LaRosa noted that actor Glen Powell (Hangman) had a knack for “handling his business” with the sick bag and carrying on. “Most people when they get air sick, you’re kind of done. You’re out for the count,” LaRosa says.

“Glen would be in the back seat of an F-18, dogfighting and would feel it. He would take care of his business and then he’d be like, ‘Ok, let’s go!’ and he’d be right back. That’s a whole skill set, I don’t even know how you get there.”

The Cruise effect

Of course, Cruise has an “iron stomach”. “He’s in better shape than I am, mentally and physically,” LaRosa, who looks like he’s in his thirties laughs about Cruise, 59. “He’s just sharp and focused and it really makes you want to get on your A-game.”

LaRosa, who receives – like apparently everyone Cruise works with – a Christmas cake from the star every year, used the word “perfection” four times in the space of around 10 minutes while discussing Cruise’s work attitude. It’s all part of the Cruise lexicon, which has been forged by decades of anecdotes about the star’s intensity.

“Working with Tom, the best way I can put it is...” LaRosa pauses, perhaps wondering if what he’s about to say sounds a bit too much like a Cruise in-joke. “If there’s something impossible, if there’s something that can’t be done, he’s the guy who’s gonna figure out how we’re going to be able to do it. And there’s nobody better for that.”

Tom Cruise felt the need to terrify James Corden in a ‘Top Gun’ fighter jet

The danger zone met the funny bone when Tom Cruise took James Corden up for a pair of unforgettable flights he piloted on Monday night’s “Late Late Show.”

The “Top Gun: Maverick” star, who previously went skydiving with Corden, took the late-night host out to the desert where Cruise revealed he would fly the two of them in a vintage fighter plane.

“With all due respect, you played a lawyer in ‘A Few Good Men.’ I wouldn’t want you to represent me in court,” Corden said.

Corden tried to run away, but that couldn’t dampen Cruise’s enthusiasm.

“I’m very excited that James is doing this,” he said. “Was he the first late-night show that I asked? Hell, no. He was just the first one — and the only one — who said yes.”

The pair prepped for the flight and Cruise explained what he would do if there’s a malfunction — roll the plane over and dump Corden out.

“I’m going to plop you out,” Cruise said, which had Corden looking stupefied.

If the flight had Corden’s stomach in knots, it had viewers’ stomachs hurting from laughing.

As they took off, Corden asked Cruise for the Wi-Fi password. While they were flying, Cruise took a dive to the left and Corden posted a note saying “Help me” on the window. They also got into a “dogfight” with another plane next to them.

“You’re a madman!” Corden said after Cruise flew over a mountain.

After they landed, Cruise said they were going to go up again in a plane with air conditioning before they engaged in some in “Top Gun” training.

Corden said he has no interest in flying the new plane, but Cruise kept him seated.

“You are my Goose,” he said, alluding to Anthony Edwards’ doomed character in the original “Top Gun.”

“When you say I’m your Goose, it makes me feel excited and then I realize that Goose dies at the end of the film,” Corden said.

Cruise then touched his face to simulate how Corden will feel with negative G and positive G forces. They walked around with Corden’s hands on Cruise’s hips to feel what the flight will be like.

Cruise felt the need for speed. Corden? Not so much.

“We’re doing the conga!” an exasperated Corden said.

The segment went into full-blown “Top Gun” parody mode when Cruise started singing “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feeling” after Corden complained about going up again. They also played volleyball, a reference to one of that movie’s most famous scenes.

While camping out that night, Cruise explained why he called his movie “Cocktail” and how the missions in the “Mission: Impossible” movies were actually possible.

The next day, they took off in the new plane, singing the “Top Gun” classic “Danger Zone” and “Old Time Rock & Roll,” made famous by Cruise’s movie “Risky Business.”

“This is the stupidest thing I’ve ever done,” Corden said as Cruise pointed out the nearby trees.

James freaked out as Cruise dipped and then ascended.

“You absolute bastard,” Corden said before motioning to a camera in another plane that Cruise is crazy.

Cruise said he’d fly straight for a bit, then motioned to the camera that he won’t before he went  upside down.

“Oh my god,” Corden said.

They finally touched down and hugged.

“I love you and I hate you at the same time,” Corden said,

“You can be my wingman anytime,” Cruise said, prompting Corden to reply, “I’m good.”

Tom Cruise surprises James Corden with fighter jet flight: 'You're an actor, not a pilot'

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

James Corden lived the Top Gun: Maverick experience to the extreme when Tom Cruise visited The Late Late Show .

In 2018, Cruise took Corden skydiving ; this time, he flew him in a vintage fighter plane and a modern war jet.

"I'm gonna go up in a 75-year-old plane with someone who isn't a pilot? Yeah, that sounds like a good idea," Corden says before running in the opposite direction.

Cruise promises Corden that he's not just an actor, but a pilot too, to which Corden retorts, "With all due respect, you played a lawyer in A Few Good Men , I wouldn't want you to represent me in court."

Through Corden's quips asking for the plane's Wi-Fi password and holding up a sign that reads "Help me," he laughs through much of the fear, mixed in with some blood-curdling screams.

As Cruise smiles for the duration of flight, in his element, he plays with Corden, taking him along for a dogfight with a neighboring plane, flying right over mountains and dropping at a 90-degree angle.

"The fact that this is your idea of a fun day out just tells me how different we are as human beings," a winded Corden says.

When the pair gets out of the plane and heads back to camp, Cruise reveals that the day is not yet over. They prepare for a second flight the way any high-intensity fighter pilots do: a game of slow-motion volleyball and a "You've Lost That Lovin Feelin" serenade.

"You're the first half of the film Goose," Cruise reassures Corden, comparing him to the Anthony Edwards Top Gun character before his death in the second half of the film.

Terence Patrick/CBS

The new Hollywood power duo ends their night in a tent, where Corden confesses, "Tom, if you kill me tomorrow, I'll haunt you for the rest of your life." Cruise replies, "James, if I kill you tomorrow, I'll be dead too."

When Corden and Cruise board the next plane, a much cushier, newer vehicle, the host seems to feel more at ease. Upon Corden's request, the action star says, "We'll just fly straight, just relax, just take it easy for a little bit" while he shakes his head at the camera. But Cruise doesn't hold out, nearing the plane to trees and cliffs and pulling off 360-degree loops and spins.

Finally done with the adventure, Corden seems relieved to be returning to the comfort of his studio: "You can be my wingman anytime," Cruise says. "You know what? I think I'm good," Corden replies with a laugh.

Hopefully for Corden's sake, Cruise won't sign him up for any other wild antics in his eighth and final season.

Tom Cruise shows off his flying skills in a new behind-the-scenes video for his upcoming action film Top Gun: Maverick . Cruise returns to the role of Pete "Maverick" Mitchell in the highly-anticipated sequel to his cult classic hit Top Gun , a film about a squadron of US Navy pilots at the elite TOPGUN training program. Released in 1987 to mixed reviews, the Tony Scott-directed film was loved by audiences and became the highest-grossing movie of the year.

Cruise returns to the Top Gun franchise for the sequel, and Maverick is now in charge of training new pilots for a special mission under the orders of Tom "Iceman" Kazansky, played by Val Kilmer, who reprises his role. Glen Powell, Lewis Pullman, Jay Ellis, Danny Ramirez, Greg Tarzan Davis, and Monica Barbaro join the ranks as trainees and are rounded out by  Miles Teller, who plays Lt. Bradley "Rooster" Bradshaw , the son of Nick "Goose" Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), Maverick's wingman from the original film. Initially scheduled to be released in 2019, due to the difficulties of shooting in real planes and the eventual COVID-19 pandemic, the film was pushed back to 2022.

Now,  Tom Cruise  shares a behind-the-scenes video of Top Gun: Maverick showcasing the actor flying a fighter jet during filming. With a camera mounted in the cockpit of a F/A-18 and pointed directly at Cruise's face, the actor fights the acceleration forces as he pulls the jet over a mountainous landscape. The actor describes that he only wanted to make a sequel to Top Gun if he had the right story and technology has developed far enough to easily accommodate actors in real planes so they can " delve deeper into the experience of a fighter pilot. " Check out the video below.

According to producer Jerry Bruckheimer, the cast went through three months of rigorous training provided by the U.S. Navy and a flight program personally developed by Cruise . The actors even got into real planes to experience what it was like to be in a fighter jet. Cruise wanted to make the film's stunts as realistic as possible, adding, " If we're going to do it, we're going to fly in the F-18s. " When finally in the cockpits of the F/A-18 Super Hornet, the actors also had to learn how to use special cameras designed to fit into the enclosed space. Cruise explained, " I had to teach them cinematography and the lighting, so they understood what's gonna look good on camera. "

Cruise is known for going all-out with his action films regarding stunt work and realism. His tent-pole action series, Mission: Impossible, is built around massive action set pieces in which Cruise places himself right in the middle, completing his own stunts and demanding to shoot on location. What Planes Does Tom Cruise Own? Can He Fly A Jet?

Ken Hyde

By Ken Hyde

Last updated: February 27, 2024

Tom Cruise is famous for his charming persona, exceptional acting skills, and self-made action scenes that capture the hearts of movie buffs worldwide. His fame has brought him a huge fortune, including an impressive airplane collection worth hundreds of millions of dollars. But can Tom Cruise fly a jet? Take a moment to explore!

In this article:

Tom cruise’s planes :  embodiment of luxury.

Tom Cruise owns a fleet of 4 planes, with some ownership still under speculation. The most famous one is the P-51 Mustang that featured in Top Gun: Maverick. His remaining jets include Gulfstream IV G4 , HondaJet HA-420 , and Bombardier Challenger 300 . All are luxurious and highly valued.

P-51 Mustang

P-51 Mustang Tom Cruise

Fans of the iconic movie Top Gun are no strangers to the vintage P-51 Mustang that appears in the final scene alongside Maverick and Rooster. However, not many people know about its owner – Tom Cruise himself.

This Mustang was a single-seat fighter aircraft built during World War II. In 1944, it was produced at the Dallas assembly plant by North American Aviation with serial number 111-36123. Unlike the D models, it features an 11-foot aeroproducts prop, later replaced by a Ham-Stan one for safety purposes. This version also has a unique canopy and a pair of K-24 cameras.

Initial ownership of the P-51 belonged to the U.S. Army Air Force , Civil Air Patrol, and other wealthy individuals. It wasn’t until 2001 that Tom Cruise bought it for an estimated $4 million and stationed it in California.

At one point, the A-list actor decorated the warbird’s side with “Montana Miss” and “Kiss Me, Kate” as a heartfelt gesture to his wife. Unfortunately, recent proof shows that these quotes have disappeared following their separation.

In addition to his former spouse, Cruise has taken some celebrities, such as Jennifer Connelly or James Corden, on a hair-raising flight on the P-51. While Connelly expressed her enjoyment with this incredible experience, the host of “The Late Late Show” suffered from insecurity due to safety concerns.

Gulfstream IV G4

Gulfstream IV G4

The private jet is one of the most expensive possessions in Cruise’s multi-million-dollar collection. It is a testament to his wealth, with a value of up to 20 million USD .

But what makes this acquisition impressive is the origin of this model. The Gulfstream IV was produced within eight years, from 1985 to 2015 . Most models were sold to the military and government. The fact that Cruise owns one of these and renovates the interior to his taste shows the caliber of his connections behind the curtain.

His private jet embodies luxury and comfort. Its lavish interior overwhelms anyone, even when you only witness it on screen. The large cabin includes 19 seats with plush backrests and soft cushions. But the most outstanding features are the private movie theater and Jacuzzi bathtub, taking your in-flight entertainment to new heights at 40,000 feet. In addition, Cruise also equipped it with a convenient sofa bed and a spacious bathroom with all the essentials.

In addition to comfort, Gulfstream IV is recognized for its high performance. Powered by two Rolls-Royce Tay 611-8 turbofan engines, it serves a range of 4,220 nautical miles (~ 7,815 km) and a maximum speed of Mach 0.88 (~ 675 mph) . That being said, it is the perfect choice to cater to the travel needs of the Hollywood movie star.

HondaJet HA-420

HondaJet HA-420

While there’s no official confirmation that Cruise owns this plane, plenty of strong evidence points in that direction. Many sources, such as SlashGear, Bizjournals, or Globalair, have reported on his ownership since 2019.

It’s said that Cruise used the HondaJet HA-420 number N77VA to fly to Burbank airport before taking James Corden on a thrilling flight in his P-51 Mustang.

The HA-420 features two engines and eight seats. At the maximum altitude of 43,000 feet, it reaches around 500 mph and covers a range of 1,200 nautical miles.

Bombardier Challenger 300

Bombardier Challenger 300

This plane is believed to be a part of Cruise’s aviation collection. Though the superstar actor never confirmed this rumor, Celebrity Jets’ Twitter account indicated that Cruise landed a Challenger 300 at Kerry Airport 12 minutes after taking off from Shannon.

The plane features dual engines with 10 seats. It operates for approximately 3,220 miles at a maximum speed of 460 mph and an altitude of 45,000 feet.

Does Tom Cruise Have A Pilot’s License ?

YES. Cruise’s dedication to aviation extends far beyond the usual penchant for high-end vehicles. His hobby motivated him to pursue and obtain a certificate to become a licensed pilot in 1994. That said, he can handle many aircraft types , similar to how he acted on the silver screen.

Is Tom Cruise a real pilot? Interestingly, he actually takes the role of pilot on screen in real life.

What Jets Were Used In Top Gun 1986?

The F-14A Tomcat takes the spotlight in the original Top Gen. In addition, there are a few other aircraft, such as the Northrop F-5, Douglas A-4 Skyhawk, and Grumman KA-6D.

Can Tom Cruise Fly An F-18?

Unfortunately, no. Even though Tom Cruise performed many of the action scenes himself in Top Gun 2, he is not qualified to pilot a military aircraft, according to the U.S. Navy.

Was The F-22 Used In Maverick Top Gun ?

The F-22 Raptor did not appear in Top Gun despite audience expectations. The filmmakers omitted this famous military aircraft as it did not fit the movie context set in the Navy. Additionally, its limited interior space prevents filming spectacular footage from inside the cockpit.

Why Didn’t They Fly The F-35 In Top Gun?

Similar to the F-22, filmmakers found it impossible to shoot from inside the F-35’s cockpit because of its single-seat design.

Does Tom Cruise own a fighter jet? Undoubtedly, YES. It is impossible to confirm the exact number of luxurious aircraft and fighter jets that Tom Cruise owns unless you break into his private hangar in Burbank.

Regardless, all of the gems listed above prove the wealth of this famous actor and his exceptional pilot skills. We will update this list as soon as we have the latest information. Stay tuned!

Rick Ross blames Drake after his private jet reportedly makes crash landing in Dallas

R ick Ross’ private jet reportedly made a crash landing in Dallas on Friday and the “Hustlin'” rapper is blaming Drake for the ordeal amid their ongoing feud.

“My jet just crashed ; Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down 🔥🔥,” Ross, 48, wrote via X Friday.

The “Stay Schemin'” rapper then said via his Instagram Stories, “We on the jet and I’m seeing the fighter jet, I see its nose. It’s like Tom Cruise from ‘Top Gun'” before thanking everyone for the prayers.

“I seen its nose. I’m seeing him in the cockpit and I’m like, ‘damn.’ I see its cheeks going back from the G-force,” he further claimed. “And then it happened, I can’t say what happened, but it happened.”

Ross also continued taunting the “Rich Baby Daddy” rapper, adding “C’mon white boy.

“What I’mma take back about Drake’s old plane — BBL Drizzy, I know you got the ashtrays in the armrest and in hindsight, that’s really dope.”

Reps for the “Rick Forever” rapper, who was seemingly taking the alleged incident in jest, did not immediately return our requests for comment.

Page Six has been unable to confirm the plane crash, but a hip-hop outlet called Keep6ixSolid shared via X Friday photos from the alleged accident.

“Rick Ross’s jet makes a crash landing in Dallas,” the Toronto-based outlet tweeted, “He was just clowning Drake for his Boeing 767.”

Drake, 37, hasn’t publicly responded to Ross’ comments online — though he did like one post that discussed the incident. His reps did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

It appears the Canadian rapper is preoccupied fending off another feud with Kendrick Lamar. On Friday night, Drake released a diss record about the “Swimming Pools” rapper titled, “Family Matters.”

His beef with Ross, though, came to a head in April, when Drake got into a battle of words with the “Diced Pineapples” artist for accusing him of getting a nose job.

At the time, Ross claimed in a track called “Champagne Moments” that the “Degrassi” alum underwent a rhinoplasty because he didn’t want to look like his father, Dennis Graham.

The “Live Fast, Die Young” rapper also said at the time that he unfollowed Drake on Instagram after the “God’s Plan” hitmaker allegedly sent a cease-and-desist letter to French Montana.

It’s widely suspected that legal action was threatened because of Montana’s 2021 song “Splash Brothers,” which was allegedly meant to have both Drake and Ross as featured artists.

Drake responded to Ross’ allegations with screenshots of a text conversation with his mother.

“The internet is saying you got a nose job??” the Graham matriarch, 64, wrote. “You looked the same to me in the kitchen today. I can’t believe you would get one without me, 🤭 cuz you know I always wanted one. Don’t tell me that you got tattoos without me and now this, too? 🤔.”

Drake wrote back alongside several laughing emojis, “I would have got us a 2 for 1 deal if I went ma. It’s coming from Rick Ross.”

The “One Dance” rapper then also claimed that Ross was taking the Type 2 diabetes drug Mounjaro for weight loss, adding, “He’s gone loopy.”

‘Drake Fighter Jet Shot Us Down’: FAA Weighs In with Facts as Rick Ross Fuels Rumors Drake Caused His Private Jet to ‘Crash’ Amid Ongoing Beef

A private jet carrying Rick Ross was involved in an incident in Dallas, Texas, and the “Hustlin'” rapper swiftly took to social media to claim he knows who was behind the unfortunate event. However, Ross’ story doesn’t quite align with reports from the Federal Aviation Administration.

Ross arrived in Arlington, Texas, aboard a Gulfstream Aerospace Gulfstream V (twin-jet) private jet on Thursday, May 2, before his scheduled performance at The Garden Restaurant & Bar in Dallas later that evening. The following day, images of the Rick Ross-branded aircraft stuck in the grass near the runway hit social media and immediately went viral.

Drake and Rick Ross excite hip-hop fans after trading jabs in diss tracks.

X account keep6ixsolid was the first to post the images with the caption: “Rick Ross’s jet makes a crash landing in Dallas He was just clowning Drake for his Boeing 767.”

In a follow-up tweet, the X user writes, “The wing stopped the plane.”

Ross played into the plane crash hysteria, taking to his Instagram Stories to reshare the images of his grounded jet with a caption stating , “DRAKE FIGHTER JET SHOT US DOWN.”

Ross followed with a tweet, taking to X to write, “My jet just crashed ; Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down.”

The two men have been engaged in an online beef ever since Ross dropped his diss track “Champagne Moments,” which was targeted at Drake in April.

Ross frequently trolls Drake by calling him “White boy” and “ BBL Drizzy ,” and Drake also targeted Ross in his diss track, “Push Ups.”

My jet just crashed ; Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down 🔥🔥 #rickrosscarshow june1st #BBLDRIZZY #Champagnemoments — Yung Rénzél 👑 (@RickRoss) May 4, 2024

The 48-year-old went as far as to detail the frightening moments before his aircraft took a nose dive. In a video posted to his Instagram Stories, Ross explained, “Thank ya, everybody, for all the prayers, but I’ma tell you, we on the jet and I’m seein’ da fighter jet,” he recalled as he made a flying noise. “I see his nose. It’s like Tom Cruise from ‘Top Gun.’ I seen his nose, I’m seeing him in the cockpit. And I’m like, ‘Damn,’ I see his cheeks and nose going back from the G force. I’m like, ‘Damn.’ And then, eh, man, it happened, know what I’m sayin’. I can’t say what happened, but it happened. C’mon, White Boy.”

Ross ended the video by letting everyone know that he was safe. “We safe, everybody.”

pic.twitter.com/a3YjNjY5Hl — media archive (@omgmediaarchive) May 4, 2024

“lol this man saying Drake tried to crash his plane? this is getting way too much,” noted another. “The funniest man in rap right now, if only he could make all his jokes rhyme he would have the best diss tracks in this war. Cant have everything guess,” added one. “Ross will make a joke out of any situation,” noted one X user.

Upon hearing the news of Ross’ incident in Dallas, Drake ‘liked’ the post on Instagram, fueling rumors of his involvement for fans enjoying the entertainment.

Several fans noticed that Drake liked the post. Ross reportedly trolled Drake about his old “cargo plane” and advised him to be careful. “You know Drake saw that s—t and liked it with a huge grin on his face,” added another fan. “Officer ricky might need Drake’s cargo plane,” joked one X user.

Fans reacted to the crash on X and were glad the plane landed safely. They also remarked on Rosay’s storytelling skills. “That’s actually insane. Glad he’s okay,” wrote one.

Despite Ross and Drake’s back-and-forth trolling about the incident, the Federal Aviation Administration’s account of what happened is far less dramatic.

“A Gulfstream G-5 business jet’s left main gear got stuck in the grass while taxiing after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport in Texas around 6:30 p.m. local time Thursday, May 2. The FAA will investigate,” the FAA said in a statement online Thursday. No additional information has been provided.

Rick Ross’ Jet Crashes and He Blames It on Drake’s F16 Fighter Jet Shooting It Down

Rick Ross ' jet crashed today, yet he's in surprisingly good spirits about the incident. The rapper is blaming the accident on his current foe , Drake .

Rick Ross Tells Hilarious Story of Drake Shooting Down Jet

On Friday (May 3), photos began circulating on social media that showed Rick Ross'  Gulfstream G550 jet  tilted to the side in some grass. The aircraft's left gold wing touches the ground while the wheels are dug into the dirt. Apparently, the wreck occurred in Dallas.

The Miami rapper confirmed that his jet went down in a tweet on X, formerly known as Twitter. "My jet just crashed ; Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down 🔥🔥#rickrosscarshow june1st #BBLDRIZZY #Champagnemoments," he tweeted.

Ross, who dropped the diss track "Champagne Moments" aimed at Drake last month, continued to expand on the tale in his Instagram Story. The Biggest Bawse reenacts the hilariously fictitious moment that his enemy shot down the jet and all he saw was Drake's nose. Rozay has been attacking Drizzy's physical features in their beef, and has even gone so far as to say The Boy got a nose job .

"So, thank ya everybody for all the prayers, but I'ma tell you, we on the jet and I'm seein' da fighter jet [imitates flying noise]," Ross shares. "I see his nose. It's like Tom Cruise from Top Gun . I seen his nose. I'm seeing him in the cockpit. And I'm like, Damn, I'm seeing his cheeks and nose going back from the G force. I'm like, Damn. And then, aye, man, it happened, na'm sayin'. I can't say what happened, but it happened."

He also throws in some shots by calling Drake "White boy" and "BBL Drizzy," two nicknames Ross has been using to get under the Toronto rapper's skin.

Drake and Ross' beef began shortly after Drake's "Push Ups" diss leaked in April. He mentioned Rozay on the track since Ross had apparently unfollowed Drake on Instagram a few weeks prior when Kendrick Lamar's "Like That" verse blew up. The internet caught wind of Ross' IG move, but didn't know why. The Maybach Music Group boss fired back with the "Champagne Moments" diss track, on which he claimed Drake got a nose job and sent a cease-and-desist to French Montana (the reason why Ross says he unfollowed Drake), among other insults. Their war of words has carried over into IG taunts, in which they both seem to be beating their chests to see who has more money than the other—private jets included.

Take a look at photos of Rick Ross' jet crash and him hilariously blaming it on Drake below.

Rap legend claims Drake’s fighter jets ‘shot his plane down’ and forced crash landing

Rick Ross has further fuelled his feud with Drake after bizarrely joking Drake ‘shot his plane down’ and forced a crash landing.

Amid Kendrick Lamar and the Hotline Bling rapper’s bitter feud which has seen the musicians trading diss tracks, Ross has taken to social media to poke fun at Drake.

Ross and Drake have also previously taken shots at each other, with Drake releasing diss record Push Ups aimed at the Money In The Grave rapper, who responded with Champagne Moments shortly after.

Now, Ross has once again taken a dig at Drake after he accused the musician and his OVO crew of ‘shooting down his jet.’

Pictures posted online show Ross’ plane grounded in grass, next to what appears to be a runway. Close-up snaps show the wheels of the plane embedded in churned-up grass and mud.

‘My jet just crashed ; Drake OvO F16 fighter jet just shot us down 🔥🔥,’ Ross posted on X.

The Federal Aviation Administration later confirmed in an official statement that Ross’ jet had actually gotten stuck in the grass after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport.

The statement reads: ‘A Gulfstream G-5 business jet’s left main gear got stuck in the grass while taxiing after landing at Arlington Municipal Airport in Texas around 6:30 p.m. local time Thursday, May 2. The FAA will investigate.’

Ross later took to his Instagram Stories to double down on the bizarre joke, comparing the incident to Top Gun.

‘We on the jet and I’m seeing the fighter jet, I see its nose. It’s like Tom Cruise from Top Gun before thanking everyone for the prayers,’ he said.

Drake

‘I seen its nose. I’m seeing him in the cockpit and I’m like, ‘damn.’ I see its cheeks going back from the G-force. And then it happened, I can’t say what happened, but it happened.’

Drake released Push Ups in April, taking aim at numerous rappers including Ross in the lyric: ‘I might take your latest girl and cuff her like Ricky/Can’t believe he’s jumping in, this n***a turning 50/Every song that made it on the chart he got from Drizzy.’

Ross responded hours later with his own single, Champagne Moments, in which he called Drake a ‘white boy’ and accused the One Dance artist of having plastic surgery.

It comes as Drake and HUMBLE rapper Kendrick continue to trade insults via diss tracks amid their ongoing feud.

Kendrick Lamar performing onstage

Last month, Kendrick featured on Metro Boomin and Future’s Euphoria  which appears to be a direct response to Drake’s 2023 song First Person Shooter.

Less than 72 hours later, 6:16 in LA dropped and took even more personal shots at the singer, to which Drake responded with Family Matters, which included lyrics: ‘I’ve emptied the clip over friendlier jabs/ You mentioned my seed, now deal with his dad.’

Kendrick followed this up with Meet the Grahams, beginning the track by addressing Drake’s son Adonis, six, directly, whom the rapper shares with model Sophie Brussaux.

The rapper accused Drake of having a secret daughter on the track, something he was quick to deny in a social media post.

Drake hit back with The Heart Part 6, in which he declares he’s done with this beef, but things became more tense as Kendrick released his fourth diss track in the saga, Not Like Us, in which he accuses Drake of being a ‘certified paedophile.’
