Tour Edge E722 Hybrid

The Tour Edge E722 hybrid is a larger, more forgiving club that is designed for golfers who want maximum distance and forgiveness. The clubhead is designed with a shallow face and a large sweet spot, which helps to promote a high launch and more forgiveness on off-center hits. The clubhead is designed with a deeper face and a smaller sweet spot, which helps to promote a lower launch and more control. Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 Iron Review

I had never struck a Tour Edge golf club before the Hot Launch C524 Irons arrived on my doorstep, so I was keen to see if they could perform as well as some of the best irons on the market for a fraction of the price.

Retailing for just $79.99/£65.00 per iron, the price tag certainly caught my eye as many irons in this category sell for far more than double that price. On first inspection out of the box, there were no signs of why that may be from an aesthetic point of view. Each iron was beautifully finished and looked great when I put them down in the playing position. A generous blade length and ample offset let me know that these were irons designed with playability in mind, but overall the dimensions and proportions were excellent and framed the ball nicely.

From a shelf appeal point of view, it is a case of nearly but not quite for me. I am generally someone who appreciates a minimalist approach to looks when it comes to golf equipment and the C524 irons are just a touch fussy for my tastes from the back. I don’t mind a subtle accent color but the bright blue badge just wasn’t for me, although that is just personal preference and some players may love it. I just feel that leaving that black or grey would have given the iron a slightly more premium look and feel.

In terms of the tech, there is quite a lot going on. At first glance, you could be forgiven for thinking that these were a hollow-body construction iron as there is no visual cavity, however, this is somewhat of an optical illusion. The cavity has simply been filled with Tour Edge’s VIBRCOR, which is a high-grade TPU designed to improve sound and feel.

Additional toe weighting has been added to the set with the intention of stabilizing impact and providing additional ball speed on off-center strikes.

I tested the Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 irons at Saunton Golf Club , using my FullSwing KIT launch monitor and TaylorMade TP5 golf balls, both on the practice ground and out on the course.

Before I get into the launch monitor data, I wanted to give a special mention to the feel attributes of these irons. Impact provided a pleasant lively sensation but there was also a real depth to the strike that isn’t always present in the game-improvement iron category. For me, the Mizuno JPX 923 Hot Metal is still the gold standard in terms of feel in this genre, but quite honestly, when coupled with some excellent turf interaction, the C524 iron is not a million miles behind.

Launch monitor data was pretty strong across the board, with ball speed and distance competitive with just about anything else. With the 7-iron coming in at 29˚ it sits within the higher end of its peers loft-wise but still managed to produce a ball speed of 129.3mph for me with a mid-low launch and spin of 15.5˚ and 5412rpm respectively, which culminated in a healthy carry number of 188 yards.

I did notice a slight right tendency in flight compared to some other game improvement irons which tend to feature more of a draw bias if anything, and I wonder whether that has anything to do with the additional toe weighting. It wasn't too severe, however, just something to note.

The Hot Launch C524 irons come with a stock steel option of the True Temper Elevate MPH95 shaft in R or S flex, and there are more weight and flex options with the Aldila Ascent PL stock graphite option. There are also three sizes of Lamkin grips to choose from.

Overall, I was very pleased with the performance and feel of the Tour Edge Hot Launch C524 irons, and when you factor in the price tag, I think there is some exceptional value for money to be had. In terms of raw performance data, I would feel comfortable putting them up against anything else in the game improvement category and be very confident they would hold their own.

Moscow metro tour: architectural styles of the subway.

tour edge hybrid review

Duration: 2 hours

Categories: Culture & History, Sightseeing

This metro tour of Russia’s capital and most populous city, Moscow, is your chance to get a unique insight into the beautiful and impressive architecture of the city's underground stations. Admire their marble walls and high ceilings representing Stalin's desire for glory after World War 2, and see first-hand how the interiors change with the rise of new political eras. Your guide will lead you through the complex network, which is one of the most heavily used rapid transit systems worldwide, with over two billion travelers in 2011.

Opened in 1935, Moscow’s underground system, now 190 miles (305 km) long with 185 stations, is today one the largest and most heavily used rapid transit systems in the world. On this Moscow metro tour, discover the impressive architecture of Moscow’s underground stations and learn how they reflect the Soviet era.

Getting around by metro, your local guide will take you through parts of Moscow’s infamous history. Stop at stations built during the time of the USSR (Soviet Union) that are praised as one of the most extravagant architectural projects from Stalin’s time. After World War 2, he was keen on establishing Stalinist architecture to represent his rising regime and a recognized empire. Learn how when his successor started the de-Stalinization of the former Soviet Union in 1953, the extravagancy of the architecture was toned down.

Discover how the unique character of each station reflected several different eras. While stations like Kievskaya and Slavyansky Bulvar have pompous halls and high stucco ceilings brimming with extravagant decorations, those built later, like Volzhskaya, are lightly adorned with sparse furnishings. Architect Alexey Dushkin and painter Alexander Deyneka were just two of the many artists who made these magnificent landmarks possible.

Revel in Moscow's glory days, as well as the years of scarcity, on this fascinating Moscow metro experience. Conclude your tour at one of the central stations in Moscow. If you're lucky, you may even find the secret entrance to the unconfirmed Metro-2, a parallel underground system used by the government -- a mystery which has neither been denied nor confirmed today.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid Review – C & E Series

Tour edge hot launch 521 hybrid.

Welcome to the next stop in our series of Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 reviews! In this review we’ll cover the Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 hybrid options and which one might be best for your game. The C521 hybrid is designed to be a forgiving and long hybrid option with premium performance. The E521 hybrid is designed for the player looking for extreme forgiveness and just wants to make the game flat out easier. In addition to exceptional performance, both Hot Launch 521 hybrids are easily one of the best values in golf gear right now .

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - CL521 4

Like the rest of the Hot Launch C521 family, Tour Edge gave this “value” hybrid a look that holds its own against other premium competitors in the market. The footprint is small to medium with a medium depth face, a moderate toe rise, and a pear-shape profile. Combining a black face with a black metal flake top gives the C521 a smooth transition for an overall clean look. If you’re a competitive player that’s comfortable with a hybrid, the C521’s profile is exactly the shape you’re looking for.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - E521 15

On the other hand, if you’re a player that might be slightly intimidated by a traditional hybrid and find them difficult to hit, the Tour Edge HL E521 might be more up your alley. The E521 hybrid’s profile is more rounded and reminiscent of a mini fairway wood. A shallower face has its performance benefits, but also looks nice behind the ball. Personally, that look gives me more confidence that I won’t dig it into the ground. You can’t miss the offset from address, but this is going to help you not slice the ball which is a good thing. We’ll discuss that more later on, as well as the unique Houdini Sole that you can’t miss when looking at the club’s sole.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - C521 5

How Does it Feel?

Consistent with the rest of the HL 521 lineup, the two Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 hybrids outpace their price point. Tour Edge specifically put a lot of effort into making sure the C521 felt incredible. At $130, it almost seems crazy how good this club actually feels. There’s “Diamond Face” technology behind the face which makes the club feel both hotter and more forgiving. In short, Diamond Face creates a “trampoline effect” at impact. This is also aided by the “Power Channel” in the sole as well as the “Cup Face” which allow for more flex at impact leading to more jump.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - E521 16

Though the E521 hybrid doesn’t have Diamond Face, it still feels good. It’s generally very smooth and easy to swing – which is exactly the point of this club. But the real magic is the Houdini Sole. The Houdini Sole does two major things. First, it places the center of gravity (CG) lower and deeper in the head (7% and 30% respectively) to make the club more forgiving and easier to hit higher with more carry. That also should mean more distance for those that need help getting the ball in the air.

Turf interaction is the second major purpose for the Houdini Sole. Looking at the face head on, you see there’s a very distinct point in the middle of the sole. This reduces drag through the turf by 35% which makes the club glide cleanly for better face contact at impact. As a result, the E521 is clean and stable through the turf and the club is able to maintain performance even when you catch one a little heavy. In short, the Houdini Sole allows you to be much more imperfect and still get the ball launching forward and in play.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - C521 11

How Does it Sound?

Over the last few families of metal woods, Tour Edge has focused heavily on acoustic engineering to dial in sound and feel. In the C521 hybrid, there are “Acoustic Ribbing Channels” which optimize the sound of the club. The end result is muted metallic “tick” from the face at impact. Due to the Diamond Face, this sound is pretty consistent across most of the face.

The extreme game improvement E521 sounds quite a bit different. The sound is a little more “open” and hollower resembling a shallow fairway wood. I would put the volume at a nice “medium” level with a good pop to it.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - C521 9

On-Course Performance

More competitive players looking for a long, easy to hit hybrid, the Tour Edge Hot Launch C521 certainly does it. That sole weight in the rear of the head places the CG low and back which makes it easier to get the ball in the air. This CG location promotes a higher launch and will keep the ball up there with a little extra spin. As a result, you’ll get more carry for extra distance with a nice peak and a soft landing. And it’s practically effortless! If you want to be able to shape your shot, the C521 is also plenty playable.

Some of you may be more concerned with just getting the ball in the air and hitting it straight. That’s obviously perfectly reasonable and acceptable. First, Tour Edge put a sole weight toward the heel of the club. This helps the toe of the club come around and square up quicker so it doesn’t stay open at impact. (Meaning, the ball won’t go right.) Add in the E521’s offset design which works with that heel weight to further help square up the face at impact eliminating the right miss.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - E521 25

Last but not least is how the Houdini Sole helps your performance. We touched on this in the Feel section, but this sole design allows you to not be perfect as it will help you when you take a little too much ground so the “anti-right elements” can still do their jobs. Additionally, the low and back CG from the Houdini Sole make the ball get in the air and carrying. For many players in the extreme game improvement category, this is a key breakthrough in their game which leads to a more enjoyable experience. Again, I can’t stress enough how easy the E521 is to hit.

Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid - E521 24

Final Thoughts – Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 Hybrid

Both of the Tour Edge Hot Launch 521 hybrids are excellent golf clubs. Simple as that. The C521 hybrid is a versatile, easy to hit, long hybrid that is insanely high quality for its price point. And I’m TELLING you, I’ve never found any golf clubs to be as easy to hit as the Hot Launch 521 E series. The Hot Launch E521 hybrid is no exception. Getting the ball to get up in the air and carrying was a piece of cake, but the ability to keep it straight or with an easy draw was the most impressive part. Like we keep saying in these HL 521 reviews, the E series is an absolute cheat code at a ridiculously good price point. So whether you’re a beginner player or just need help hitting a hybrid well, and want to save a few bucks, the E521 is a must hit.

We aren’t Tour Edge, we’re an independent review site. To be fair, we’re based out of the Chicago suburbs just down the road from Tour Edge HQ, but can’t claim any credit for their clubs.

You are absolutely right about the E521. I have had the 5 hybrid for a few weeks and it is incredibly easy to hit.

Purchased a new set of E 521 irons. Waited — three months on order to come in, due to I am a left hander. Hated them the first round I played in. Was going to bring them back. Salesman said play three or four more times before u decide. Now I love them. They hit straight and high. They are light. Hit just as far as callaway XR irons.

Had us in the first half. Not where I expected this to be going, but I glad you like the clubs!

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

What is the kremlin in russia?

The guide will not only help you navigate the metro, but will also provide you with fascinating background tales for the images you see and a history of each station.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

There are almost 200 stations 196 at the moment and trains run every 90 seconds! The guide of your Moscow metro tour can explain to you how to buy tickets and find your way if you plan to get around by yourself.

50 Words or Less

The  Tour Edge  HL4 3 Hybrid is super easy to hit club that gets the ball up in the air and sends it a long way.

Introduction

The HL4 hybrid may be the workhorse of the HL4 series.  As the name suggest, this club does the work of a game-improvement iron, while adding solid distance of a wood.  The HL4 series is a great collection of clubs that promote playability for the weekend golfer.

The Tour Edge HL4 hybrid is a great looking club.  A gloss black crown with a leading edge of silver gives a classy, no nonsense look.  The silver leading edge is a great alignment aid to help you square the club face.

The HL4 is about the size of a standard iron in length and slightly smaller than a fairway wood in depth. It’s a solid looking club that gives you a great sense of confidence when standing over your shot. I just knew I was going to hit this one well.

At impact, the HL4 Hybrid feels more like an iron than a wood .  When holding the HL4, the head gives you a slight “heavy” feel.  Not heavy as a hindrance, but weight that you know will help you blast out of gnarly rough or give you extra yards to a tight fairway.  This might be in part to the stock 65 gm Mamiya shaft.

As forgiving as the HL4 hybrid is, off center contact can be felt immediately in the hands .  You will lose some distance, but ball flight stays pretty well on target. You can feel and hear the misses.  Impact in the center of the face is rewarded with an immediate soft sensation that launches the ball high and far.  This club gives great feedback on hits and misses, allowing you to get a real sense of your swing and contact area.

Performance

The Tour Edge HL4 hybrid is extremely forgiving and easy to play .  The club head squares up nicely and gives you plenty of confidence to make the swing that you need.

The HL4 is a versatile golf club that preforms well from the rough, fairway, and can be used off the tee to find the fairway on a tight driving hole.  I was impressed at how easy the HL4 picked my ball from the light rough.  Hitting pressure shots for the fairway rough is exactly why you might need a hybrid in your bag.  Contact was easy, solid, and, produced a great recovery from trouble.

I do not have a hybrid as a gamer, mostly relying on long irons and fairway woods.  The Tour Edge HL4 3 Hybrid fell in between my 3 hybrid-iron and my 5 wood.  It gave an incredible boost in confidence to my game knowing that I could get the utility of an iron and the distance of a fairway wood all in one club.  This one might be going into my bag.

The HL4 3 hybrid is a performer delivering accuracy, distance, and loads of confidence on each swing.

tour edge hybrid review

Hybrids were created for a reason, a blend of iron utility with the distance of a wood.  A club that is able to work a ball out a trouble spot with minimal effort.  If you are in the market for a hybrid, the Tour Edge HL4 Hybrid is a quality club that is easy to hit and delivers outstanding performance.  It should be on your list to demo for yourself.

Yeah, I don’t think that thing’s gonna fit into your brand new bag of Muzunos😂

' src=

HA! If I had not been fit for a new set, including hybrid, I still would play this club. It’s just a good as the “big brands.” Thanks for following Plugged in Golf.

#SecertGiveaway4. Hybrids got to be a no brainier instead of long irons for 90 percent of the amaturers that play this crazy game.

' src=

Sounds just like what I need. #SecretGiveaway4

' src=

I have always used Tour Edge Hybrids. Its time to update so I will definitely give this one a try. #SecretGiveaway4

I really like the Tour Edge clubs and have some of them in my bag…great off the fairway and light rough… #SecretGiveaway4

' src=

With these kind of specs and great pricing, I’m often puzzled as to why there more of us with a bagful of Tour Edge clubs!! #SecretGiveaway4

' src=

Mainly because they are considered less than premium due to the price. I was one of those until I tried them. Now I’m Tour Edge with my driver, irons, and wedges. Have my fairway woods and hybrid ordered. My bag will be all Tour Edge with the exception of my 20 year old putter.

' src=

Love tour edge products and now going to have to try their hybrids as I don’t have any of theirs .#secretgiveaway#4

' src=

Think its worth giving it a shot at my bag

' src=

#secretgiveawat#4 I have a bag full of Tour Edge Exotics clubs and I have been looking at the HL series of hybrids. The review makes one or two look more appealing.

' src=

This sounds like a perfect solution for those shots in the rough that are too difficult for a long iron and not possible for a fairway wood. Sign me up.

' src=

I have been thinking about picking one of these up for a while now. Thanks for the review. #SecretGiveaway4

' src=

Don Iam going to demo this club asap

' src=

#Secretgiveaway4. This hybrid looks like something I would love to try. Price is very reasonable.

' src=

Love the look of these hybrids. I’m one of those people that has to like what he’s looking at when he sets up to swing! #secretgiveaway#4

Hi Michael, I always enjoy your reviews. Thank you for providing this forum. I am ditching all my long irons for hybrids this season. Couple questions: 1) were you able to work the ball with this club? 2) after reading your review, sounds like you were impressed. Should a lower handicap player consider this club? For half the price, it seems you can get all benefits that many of the big OEM’s charge for hybrids geared at more players segment.

Thank you, MIchael

Thanks for following Plugged in Golf. I was very impressed with the club. I did not carry a hybrid in my bag. I hit long irons better then average for an amateur. That being said, I now carry a hybrid and find it easier to hit more consistently. I do not work the ball much. I have a natural draw and it was very easy to play my game. The “smaller” OEM’s like Wilson and Tour Exotics are making great strides in equipment and equipment option (shafts, lofts, lie angles, etc.). I found the HL4 performed as well as a few of “big guys” I have tried. Find a golf retail store that will allow you to try them into a hitting net or take them to a range. As always, I would recommend a fitting from a reputable golf fitting outlet, such as Club Champion.

Performer and Made In USA…nuff said really. I think the last decent clubs made here were the Ping G5 irons

The Tour Edge Exotics E722 hybrid is a large but well-shaped hybrid . At address, it has a clear pear shape which is fairly unusual in a hybrid of this size.
