So apparently, Laos uses a whole bunch of different plug outlets. https://www.my-travel-adapter.com/en/plug-adapter-laos.html

Doing more research, it would seem that types A and B are the most common. Can anyone confirm this?

I'm from Europe and need to buy an adaptor for my laptop. However, most adaptors only adapt to type B outlets. I need to make sure outlets generally have room for the third grounding pin. Can anyone confirm that most plug outlets do?

Most EU and US 2 pins plugs should fit most sockets in Laos.

3 pins I think are only for higher power items, such as kettles, tvs, microwaves etc.

Never use a laptop. But for everything I use, never had a problem.

If you need an earth/ground pin then you may have some issues in the more basic rooms.

You should check if your laptop is double insulated. I'm not familiar with European grounding arrangements as I'm in the UK which has a different system.

Thanks for the reply. It's not that I need a third pin, it's that most if not all eu to US adaptors have it (type B), so I have no choice but to make sure I will be able to plug a three-pin plug into the outlet. My EU plug does have three pins, but it's the adaptor pins that I'm worried about.

I might just buy an EU to US three pin adaptor and hope it works.

Same question from me please except I’m from UK so am I best off bring US or EU adaptors?

Not sure about 3 pins sockets, never used them.

You need to be careful, if your appliance has a ground pin, then it can be dangerous using it on a 2 pin plug.

Probably why you can only buy 3 pin adapters.
