Advantages of traveler’s backpack.

No more Full inventory!

Currently talented at this time, players often add a lot of mods and even many items. So they’ll need a backpack that’s functional and capable of holding all of these things. Traveler’s backpack can provide more than 45 storage slots, 2 liquid containers. Each box can hold up to 16 bottles of medicine

Even more now, as the developer is always updating and improving it. This backpack becomes a great choice for players.

Armor and backpack:

Traveler backpacks don’t need any empty armor slots to wear. But that means you don’t have to carry so many backpacks at once, which isn’t possible.

Great luggage for adventure!

In your adventure, what will the luggage you bring with you be? Surely it’s the crafting table, the bed, and the fireplace. Everything is very simple now, you just need to bring your backpack. You can use crafting inside your backpack’s luggage, plus you can also take out your sleeping bag anytime you want!

Customization is what you are most satisfied with:

you can customize 75 backpacks and if that’s not enough, some of them can offer special abilities!

Inventory features:

Traveler backpack inventory can be divided into segments that have other functions. Below is an explanation of the function of each inventory element.

Here you can see the inventory:

  • The blue slots represent the base backpack inventory, where you can store your items.
  • The green positions only accept tools and provide a special inventory action – Tool Cycle (?)
  • The brown slots are mostly crafting grids and one of them is crafting results slots. These slots store items.
  • The bucket slot holds all the liquid containers and potions. If a tank fits the liquid, the container will move into the slot below and the tank will be filled.
  • The slots under the bucket slot are just the outlet of the bucket slot. You cannot put there any items.

You may have noticed that in the GUI there is one more element that the author did not explain before. There are 3 types of buttons. Each of them appeared in the right conditions.

Cycle tool: If you are holding a tool then you can act this way, put it on the backpack and the tool slots will fill up in the backpack’s inventory. Start sneaking at first, then scroll up or down. It will replace your current tool with one from the tool slot. What a useful trick!

Open inventory: If you have a backpack, click B to open the luggage. (Configuration in the controller)

Exchange tank attached to the faucet: If you’re backpacking and holding the faucet, click N to swap the tank the faucet is attached to. (Configuration in the controller)

Change faucet mode: If you hold the hose, hold the shift key and scroll up or down to change the active hose mode.

Ability: As you probably know (or don’t know), some backpacks can provide exceptionally useful capabilities, but most (don’t?). They appear when the player is wearing a backpack.

Traveler’s Backpack Mod is one of the best mods that MC Wiki has just updated

The Adventure Backpack (Standard) is an item added by Adventure Backpack mod.

It functions as a portable chest, sleeping bag, crafting table and tank and also features a quick swap tool holder. The backpack can hold 2 tools [1] , which can easily be swapped with a tool in the hotbar ( Shift+Scrolling ), the tools show on the backpack's model.

The 2 tanks (one on each side) hold 4,000 mB of liquids each and can be manually filled with a bucket or using an Hose from which the Player can suck or spill liquids and even drink [2] for some interesting effects.

Whenever a backpack is dropped, it keeps all the items stored inside, it may also be placed rendering it immune to the effects of lava [3] . Access the Backpack's GUI to mount it, then use the default key bind B to access it. An Adventure Backpack cannot be inserted inside another.

This Backpack can be used to craft all other Backpacks. There is an option in the Config file to add this Backpack to the Bonus chest.

Recipe [ edit ]

⠀

Note that the bottom middle ingredient is the Adventure Backpack mod's Sleeping Bag (not a bed and not the Sleeping Bag available with the OpenBlocks mod).

Ability [ edit ]

This Backpack has no known unique abilities.

  • ↑ The quick swap tool slots only accepts tools, not weapons. 3 tools are needed for this feature to work effectively.
  • ↑ To toggle the Hose mode use Shift+Scrolling . To toggle which tank is connected to the hose use the default key bind N (while holding the hose)
  • ↑ The Backpack is only immune to Lava if placed, dropping it in Lava would destroy it and its content.

Minecraft: Traveler’s Backpack Mod Guide & Download

POST CATEGORIES:

The Traveler’s Backpack is probably Minecrafts best backpack mod. It offers so many more features than similar mods, such as built in fluid tanks, sleeping bag, crafting table and slots for tools. There’s lots of different designs to choose from too.

We’ve covered many more mods in a Wiki format here at PwrDown, as well as full lists on our YouTube Channel . Alternatively, you might be interested in looking at some of our Minecraft Mod Lists currently available here on the website.

Traveler’s Backpack Recipe

To craft the Traveler’s Backpack, you’ll need 4 Leather, 1 Iron Ingot, 1 Chest, 2 Backpack Tanks and a Sleeping Bag. Obviously, the Backpack Tanks and Sleeping Bag aren’t included in Vanilla Minecraft.

travelers backpack crafting recipe

You can craft the Backpack Tanks by placing Glass Blocks in a H shape in a Crafting Table (similar to Ladders), and placing an Iron Ingot in each remaining slot, which there are 2 of. Whereas for the Sleeping Bag, place 2 Red Wool next to eachother inside the Crafting Table, with a White Wool on the end.

Wearing the Traveler’s Backpack

One of the best features about this mod is that you can actually wear the Backpack, instead of it just sitting in your inventory like other mods. When you do wear it, the Backpack will appear on your back, for yourself or other players to see.

equipped backpack

To equip the Traveler’s Backpack, hold it in your hand and right click to open the inventory of the Backpack. In the bottom left corner is a button, which will place the Backpack on your back when you click it.

If you want to unequip the Backpack at any time, it’s simple. Just press B by default, which should open up the Backpack. If that doesn’t work, check your control settings. When the Backpack is open, there’ll be a button in the bottom left corner once again, which return it to your inventory.

Fluid Tanks

On each side of the Backpack is a Fluid Tank, with there being 2 in total. In more modern versions of Minecraft, they can only be used to store fluids like Water and Lava.

Each tank can hold 4 Buckets worth, which should save you quite a few Iron Ingots in the long run. For users who are playing on older versions, like 1.12.2, they’ll be able to store Potions inside Fluid Tanks too.

fluid tanks with lava and water

To store liquids inside the Fluid Tanks, press B to open the Backpacks inventory. The slot in the top-left and top-right of the interface will accept Buckets of Lava and Water. You’ll be able to retrieve the Empty Buckets, so that they can be reused.

You can remove the liquids the same way. When you place an Empty Bucket in these slots, they’ll be filled instead.

Sleeping Bag

Another great feature is that the Traveler’s Backpack has a Sleeping Bag, so you can skip the night no matter where you are. When you sleep in it, your spawn point won’t be changed either, so you won’t have to worry about that.

backpack with sleeping bag

The Sleeping Bag can only be deployed when the Backpack is on the ground. So first, you’ll need to have the Traveler’s Backpack on your Hotbar. If you’re wearing it, press B to open the inventory, and press the button in the bottom left to remove it.

Now to place it down, hold SHIFT so that you’re sneaking, and right click the ground. The Backpack will be resting on the ground. When you right click it, the inventory will open, and the Sleeping Bag button will be visible in the bottom left corner.

Sometimes, the Sleeping Bag won’t deploy if there’s obstacles nearby. So make sure there’s some free blocks infront of the Backpack, like on the image above.

When you’re ready to pack the Sleeping Bag up again, just right click the Backpack and press the button. You can then go ahead and re-equip the Backpack by sneaking and right clicking it again, which will send it straight to your back.

The Tool Slots inside the Backpack will save some space on your Hotbar, and make some visual changes to the Backpack itself. Inside the Backpack, there’s 2 slots in the bottom left corner, which are green in color.

In these slots, you can place tools like Swords, Axes, Pickaxes, Shovels and more. They’ll then appear on the Backpack in the game world, like they’re strapped to it.

backpack with tools

But the most important mechanic comes in when you’re also holding a tool in your hand. When you hold the Z key and move your mouse wheel, your tools will cycle through the Backpack. It essentially gives you 3 tools while only using a single hotbar slot.

Using The Hose

Going back to the built-in Fluid Tanks, you can also use a Hose. You’ll first need to craft a Nozzle from 2 Iron Ingots, a Lever and a Gold Ingot. Then combine that with 4 Green Dye to create the actual Hose.

hose crafting recipe

Hold the Hose, and right click to connect it to one of the 2 tanks on the Backpack. You can see which Tank is selected in the bottom right corner, as it will have a white border. You can alternate between the tanks by pressing the N key. There’s also 3 different Hose modes, and you can switch between them by holding down Z and moving the mouse wheel while the Hose is in your hand.

The first mode is Suck , which can suck up any fluids from the game world or other compatible tanks. Spill Mode can be used to take liquids out of the Backpack Fluid Tanks, and spill them in the world. And the Drink Mode can be used to directly drink the contents of a Tank, which is probably better for when they contain Potions.

Backpack Styles

Finally, you can start looking at the design of the Backpack, and how it will appear in your Minecraft world. Your first option is to just take the Regular Backpack and apply a Dye to it, which will allow you to change the color.

backpack styles

Alternatively, you can make them look like some different creatures instead. They can be turned into designs that feature Pigs, Cows, Wolves, Foxes, Bats, Chickens and even Villagers. Or they can be made to look like Iron, Emerald, Redstone and more.

You’ll need to install the Just Enough Items mod to see all the recipes. As there’s too many to post here, because they’re quite complicated too.

Traveler's Backpack

Traveler's backpack [ click for fabric ].

traveller's backpack wiki

🔎 Why should you choose Traveler's Backpack?

  • Full inventory? No more!

At a time where there's a lot of mods and even more items, you'll need functional and capable backpack. Since the traveler's backpack can provide about 45 inventory slots  and  2 fluid tanks , which each can store up to 4 buckets of fluid or even 16 bottles of potion (Now even more, since it's configurable!), this backpack becomes a really good option to consider. All inventory slots and tanks can be accessed via external pipes. The backpack also provides special buttons - sort , quick stack and transfer to manage inventory!

  • Chestplate or backpack? Why not both? (Now with Curios integration! 1.16+)

Traveler's backpack doesn't need any empty armor slot (or other slot, unless Curios integration is enabled) to be worn. Player can wear one backpack on his back at the time and it's inventory can be accessed via B (Configurable) button.

  • The best gear for adventures!

Here comes the Traveler's Backpack! You are able to use crafting inside of backpack's inventory or pull out the sleeping bag in any time you want! Don't worry, you won't lose your spawn point! Also worth taking advantage of handy tool slots (Tool swapping described beelow), which render directly on backpack. Fluid tanks in combination with Hose Item (Hose functioning described below) are good portable fluid storage.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Customization that you have never seen!

Choose your personal style from over 45 custom backpacks, which represent various creatures and blocks. As if that weren't enough, some of them can provide special abilities! All backpacks' textures have been remade one by one to fit new Minecraft style. 1.16+ versions provide dyed backpack. You can combine whichever dyes you want!

Inventory guide

Traveler's backpack inventory can be split into segments, which have other functions. I'll try to explain you what each element of inventory does.

Here you can see the inventory:

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Blue slots  stand for base backpack inventory, where you can store your items.
  • Green slots  accept only tools and provide special inventory action - Tool cycle (See below)
  • Brown slots   are mostly crafting grid and one of them is crafting result slot. These slots save items.
  • Bucket slots  accept all the fluid containers and potions. If a tank is suitable for fluid, container will move into the slot under and tank will get filled.
  • Slots under bucket slots  are just outputs of bucket slots . You can't put there any items.

You can add your own items, which will be accepted by tool slots. See below: (1.16+)

Tool slots accept items that have "acceptable_tools" tag. You can simply add it to any item you want by datapacks.

You've probably noticed, that in gui is one more element, which I didn't explained before. There are 3 types of buttons. Each of them appears in proper conditions.

  • Equip button  is visible, when player holds backpack in a hand and doesn't wear any. If button is clicked, the backpack will be worn on the player.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Unequip button  appears, when player wear a backpack. To access this button you have to open inventory [default B]. If button is clicked, the backpack will be added to the player's inventory.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Sleeping bag button is visible, when backpack is placed on the ground. If button is clicked and there's enough space, the sleeping bag eventually will be deployed. If sleeping bag is already deployed and player clicks the button, sleeping bag will be folded back to the backpack.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Ability slider appears only if backpack has ability, if not slider will not be accessible. Allows player to choose if ability should be enabled or disabled.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Sort button  allows player to sort all sortable slots in the backpack's inventory. Shift clicking sort button enables unsortable slots selector (Blue sort button) and can be disabled by shift clicking again. Player can click on slots and mark them with blue color to make them unsortable and untransferable.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Quick stack button detects all of the items in player's inventory that can be stacked with the same item inside the backpack, and places it in there.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Transfer to backpack button allows to transfer all items from player's main inventory to the backpack's inventory. Shift clicking button will also transfer all of the items from player's hotbar.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Transfer to player inventory  button allows to transfer all of the items from backpack to player's inventory. Items from slots marked as unsortable will not be transferred.

traveller's backpack wiki

Automation Here you can find information about automating backpack (In someway) (1.16+) Note: Bucket and Tool slots can't be automated.

  • Inserting and extracting items from base backpack inventory - input is on the top, output is on the bottom of the backpack.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Inserting and extracting items from crafting grid - input is on the rear side, output is on the front side of the backpack.

traveller's backpack wiki

  • Inserting and extracting fluid from fluid tanks:

Left Tank - input and output is on the left side of the tank.  Right Tank - input and output is on the right side of the tank.

traveller's backpack wiki

Pipes, transporters and tanks used on screenshots come from Mekanism mod.

  • How to use hose?

For first you have to wear backpack (Hose can only be used with backpack equiped), then you have to attach hose to tank, by pressing right mouse button . Tank is selected if its border is white, this also means that hose is active. Hose attachment resets everytime when you take off your backpack or remove hose from inventory, so make sure that any of the tanks is selected. There are 3 hose modes, which I'll describe below:

You can pick up the fluid from the world or - if clicked on suitable tank - transfer fluid from clicked tank to your backpack's tank.

You can spill the fluid into the world or - if clicked on suitable tank - transfer fluid from your backpack's tank to clicked tank.

Allows player to drink some tank's contents - not all fluids are drinkable , some of them may give special effects though.

Additional Tips

  • Swap tank attached to hose

If you wear a backpack and hold hose, click N to swap tank which hose is attached to. (Configurable in controls)

  • Change hose mode

If you hold hose, hold Z (Configurable in controls) and scroll up or down (can be set to use keybind only in config) to change active hose mode.

You can perform this action if you're holding a tool, wearing a backpack and at least one tool slot isn't empty in backpack's inventory. At first hold  Z (Configurable), then scroll up or down (Can be set to use keybind only in config). It will replace your current tool with one from tool slot. Such a useful trick!

  • Open inventory

If you wear a backpack, click B to open inventory. (Configurable in controls)

  • Drain fluid from fluid tanks

Hold shift and click on chosen tank to drain fluid.

traveller's backpack wiki
