How to View your Qatar Visa Online | Qatar eVisa Status Check

For those who are planning to visit Qatar and have already applied for a visa, you can check your visa online by visiting the Ministry of Interior website. Here’s a guide to help you how you can view it on the internet.

The Ministry of Interior in Qatar has outlined an easy online step-by-step guide to help you know and check the status of your Qatar visa application by going through the MOI Qatar portal. You only need to have your passport number or visa number and you check the status of your Qatar eVisa if it is valid or not.

Why It’s Important to Verify Accuracy of Visa

Possession of a valid visa is necessary because it is a proof that you are welcome in your host country. It should be accurate and authentic so that the immigration officials will not detain you or be suspicious of your intentions.

Make sure to contract the services of a legitimate company when you are applying for your visa. Otherwise, you might get a fake document that could cause trouble for you in the long run. On the other hand, even if you are dealing with an authorized company, they might not encode the accurate information about you.

Finally, it’s possible that the immigration officials will send you home if your visa is fake or inaccurate. You would only waste time and money if you do not push through with your trip. These reasons should convince you to verify your visa while you still have the time.

This New Multi-Nation Visa Will Grant Tourists Entry to Six Gulf Countries

H opping between Gulf countries could soon be as easy as traveling through Europe's Schengen Area : just flash your passport at the entry point and seamlessly travel from one country to the next—no extra paper work required.

Six countries in the Persian Gulf region recently agreed to create a shared visa for travelers, meaning foreign tourists would need just a single passport visa to enter all six of the neighboring nations.

The participating countries include the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain , Oman , Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Qatar —meaning tourists could soon visit Dubai and Abu Dhabi in the UAE, see Saudi Arabia’s ancient city of Diriyah or the intricately hewn sandstone tombs at Hegra, and camp bedouin-style in the Qatari desert all in one fell swoop—without the bureaucratic headache of multiple visa applications. The only Gulf country to not participate in this is Iraq.

These six nations already have close ties, and together make up the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), a regional union that cooperates on certain economic and governance matters. The current GCC president, Sayyed Hamoud bin Faisal Al Busaidi, first announced that the council had approved the joint visa plan back in November 2023. Now, officials estimate the new multi-nation visa could launch as soon as later this year or early 2025.

The joint visa could help increase international tourism to the countries, “especially to Bahrain and Kuwait as well as Oman, which currently do not offer direct flights from and to the US,” says Amalia Lazarov , a travel specialist at Travelicious who plans luxury trips through the Gulf nations.

Currently, each country has a range of visa policies for American tourists. In Qatar and Kuwait, US leisure travelers can apply for a free visa on arrival, while Saudi Arabia requires American tourists to pay a fee of about $128. Bahrain and Oman also grant free visas on arrival to Americans, but they’re only valid for two weeks (the US State Department advises tourists to apply for them online before travel).

The majority of the six countries have undertaken a concerted effort to grow tourism numbers in the past few years. Saudi Arabia, for instance, opened its borders to international tourists for the first time in 2019, while Qatar’s tourism industry was turbocharged when it hosted the FIFA World Cup in 2022. Both of these milestones have brought a flurry of high-end hotel properties and other tourist infrastructure projects, including luxury trains through the desert , new cruise terminals, and ambitious conservation projects . Meanwhile, travelers have never been more interested in visiting the UAE city of Dubai, which hosted a record-breaking number of tourists last year: More than 17.1 million travelers visited the sprawling metropolis in 2023.

Because they offer advantages for both travelers and the destination, joint visa policies seem to be growing in popularity. Aside from the Gulf nations’ plan, a similar idea was floated among six nations in Southeast Asia earlier this spring. That effort, which the prime minister of Thailand unveiled in April, would allow travelers a single visa to enter Thailand , Vietnam , Cambodia , Laos, Malaysia, and Myanmar.

GCC's unified visa to be rolled out soon: Here's what you should know

 alt=

Dubai: In a significant move to make travelling to the GCC countries simple and hassle-free, a unified visa system that allows the visa holder to stay up to 30 days in these countries, is likely to be launched by the end of this year. The GCC council has permitted to proceed with the unified visa that enables the visitor to enter the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and Oman. Currently, separate visas are required to visit each country. The tourism ministers of the GCC countries hoped that the unified visa system would provide an impetus to the tourism sector of the region.

The ministerial-level seminar that was conducted as part of the Arabian Travel Market opined that creating a corridor by linking the major tourist attractions in the Gulf countries would pave the way for healthy competition and cooperation. This would then enable the GCC countries to highlight their incredible tourism potential to the world. The ministers said that the unified visa system would be a significant milestone in initiating developmental activities based on tourism. The meeting was of the opinion that a common visa would be helpful in projecting the Gulf countries as fabulous tourist destinations that are interconnected. Moreover, the GCC countries would be turned into a single tourism unit when the GCC railways too get materialised. Besides, the unified visa system could attract more investment to the airports and cruise terminals in the GCC countries.

Features of the visa The new visa will make travel in the GCC area more affordable and convenient for tourists. It will also improve and increase the activities offered to tourists. At the same time, unlike the Schengen visa, the GCC visa is meant for travellers who have a diverse business portfolio. The visa will also be beneficial to those travelling to the Gulf for Haj and Umra as well as those on short trips. In the first stage, the aim is to maximise cooperation between the GCC countries, which will facilitate the exchange of skilled labour in the second stage. The proposed rail link connecting the Gulf countries also necessitates the implementation of the unified visa regime.

The rewards can also be transferred to other Avios-based rewards programs, such as British Airways and Iberia Airlines. That transfer ability and access to partner airlines make Avios extremely valuable for optimizers who don’t mind learning how to maximize the value of their rewards.

How To Do Medical Test for Visit Visa Extension in Qatar (2024)

Doha Guides Team regularly reviews this article to ensure the content is up-to-date and accurate. The last editorial review and update were on 02 February 2024.

Family Visit visas to Qatar are normally issued for 30 days only and can be extended after arrival. A medical test is compulsory for the extension of a family visit visa .

This article explains how to do the medical test for both visit visa extensions as well as for a family residence visa in Qatar.

When to do the Medical Test for Visit Visa Extension in Qatar

Qatar medical commission location, qatar medical commission timing, documents required for medical test, fees for medical test, entrances to medical commission, medical test procedure, medical test result, medical test for children, visit visa extension process, faq on medical test for visit visa extension.

Once the visitor enters Qatar, the visit visa sponsor will receive an SMS reminding them to complete the medical test if visa extension is required. However it may take up to three days to update the visitor’s entry in the system. So it is advisable to do the test after 3 days of entry.

The medical test can be done any time before the expiry of the visit visa . Considering that the test results may take up to 3 working days to be updated, it is advised to do it at least within the first three weeks of entry.

The medical tests for a visit visa extension are done at the government-run Medical Commission Office in Doha, located near Woqod Petrol Station near Industrial Area (Abu Hamour). Here is the location map:

Normally, Medical Commission is open from 7 am to 12 Noon and 2 pm to 7 pm from Sunday to Thursday. Friday and Saturday are holidays.

Afternoon sessions during mid-week days are comparatively less crowded for families. Keep in mind that on busy days, they may stop issuing tokens 1-2 hours before closing.

The following are the documents required to do the medical test for a visit visa extension in Qatar:

  • Original passport of the visitor
  • Clear copy of visit visa with a cell phone number to call for emergency
  • Debit or credit card for payment of the fees
  • The fee for the medical test is QAR 100 per person.
  • A debit or credit card is required for payment. Cash payment is not allowed.
  • If you don’t have a debit credit card, there is a bank counter near the women’s entrance that can issue a temporary debit card for a small fee.

The Medical Commission Office has  separate entrances for male and female visitors . Upon entering the main gate, turn right for the female entrance. For the male entrance, go straight and take the right after the main building.

Dress Code For Female Visitors: Women are required to wear ankle-length dresses or pants, and dresses below knee level are not permitted.

Men are not allowed to accompany female visitors, even if they are relatives. If the female visitor is someone who might need assistance, one female can enter along with the visitor.

The men’s section usually allows only the visitor to go inside (unless the visitor is old or physically challenged). So if you are giving your Debit/Credit card to the visitor make sure you give the card’s PIN code also.

Note that there are several entrances to Men’s section – one of them is for X-Ray and another is for employment visa medical tests. Check with the security at the entrance and make sure you are waiting at the right place.

The medical test for a visit visa extension in Qatar consists of screening for HIV, Hepatitis B and Hepatitis C. Permit applications are rejected if HIV tests are positive. The visitor will also receive a chest X-Ray for tuberculosis. Here is the detailed process:

  • Upon entering, take a token number from the machine at the entrance (or someone will be there to issue tokens).
  • Go to the registration counter when your token number is shown on the screen.
  • Give the original passport and visa copy (with the contact number).
  • After entering the details in the system, they will ask for payment. Pay QR 100 using a debit/credit card.
  • They will give back the passport, visa copy as well as a printout with the MC number.
  • Go to the area designated for the Blood Test (there are clear directional signs).
  • The receptionist will check the printout and issue the bottle for a blood sample.
  • Go to the nearby room for a blood drawing (the receptionist will guide you).
  • After the blood test, go for a chest X-Ray which is in another area (follow the directional signs).
  • Once the X-Ray is done, you can leave.

Sometimes X-Ray is done before the blood test. The staff will guide you depending on availability. In either case, you have to do both tests on the same day. There is another room for a physician’s check-up, which is not needed for a visit visa extension.

The total time required depends on how crowded the place is. On a lucky day, you may wrap up everything in 30 minutes. On another day it may even take 4-5 hours.

Usually, the medical test result is available within 24 hours. In some cases, it may delay up to 3 working days.

If the sponsor has activated Metrash2 on his phone, the result will be sent as an SMS. If Metrash2 is not activated, you can check on the Ministry of Public Health website. Here is the link to the website for the medical test result.

For children on visit visa, a medical test is not required. Earlier you had to pay QR 100 as medical report fee for children (even without a medical test). As per the recent visitors, Medical Commission is not charging this fee anymore.

Once the medical test is passed, the sponsor can immediately extend the visa online or through Metrash2 . Visa extensions can also be done by visiting the MoI service centre. The visa extension fee is QAR 200 per 30 days.

For first and second-degree relatives, the visa can be extended for up to 150 days after the initial 30 days (a total of 180 days).

When renewing through Metrash2, make sure you select the correct number of days. By default, the number of days shown is 150 which means you would end up paying for a five-month extension.

If you are renewing the same visa for a second time, a medical test is not required again.

I went to do medical of my mother who is here on family visit visa. Medical comission was closed due to eid holidays. I received a message previously sayinh that medical needs to be done within a weeks times. How can i do it if medical commission is closed? Now i will take my mother again on 17th April once it will reopen. Will i have any trouble getting her medical done or will they allow her to do medical tests as it has been more then a week and will be almost 13 days since she is here.

I would like to know whether children aged 13 have to undergo the medical test. My daughter arrived yesterday, and I received a text message saying that the medical text has to be done in a week. please guide on the same. thank you.

I would like to know, is Affidavit of support a mandatory document for a family member visiting here in doha? If so, do they need the original copy or soft copy is okay?

Hi Anthony, It is not needed after reaching Qatar (not being checked at Qatar airport). However it may be a requirement for some countries like Philippines. So please check with the Qatar Embassy in your country.

Apply for/renew your visa.

After receipt of your immigration documentation from UMD, and payment of the required SEVIS fee (F1/J1 only) , you can apply for your visa. An in-person interview is usually required. You should schedule your appointment as soon as possible. Some U.S. Embassies may have wait times for visa interviews and delays in visa processing.

To make your appointment and check wait times, visit the U.S. Visas - Department of State .

Note: You may not receive a U.S. visa more than 120 days before the reporting date on your I-20/DS-2019.

Attend the visa appointment and bring the application required documents listed below with you.

General Visa Application Required Documents

  • U.S. Government Application form DS-160
  • Payment of the U.S. Government Visa Application Fee
  • U.S. passport-style photos for each visa applicant
  • Passport(s) valid for at least 6 months into the future for each visa applicant

Additional Requirements by Visa Category

  • Dependent Visas
  • Signed original I-20 or DS-2019 Form
  • SEVIS Fee Receipt
  • Proof of ties to your home country: F and J visas are non-immigrant visas. As such, you will need to show that you plan to return after your studies. You can do this by showing strong ties to your home country with evidence such as proof of property ownership, a job offer letter, or letters from family.
  • Proof of financial support : You will need to present the financial documents you submitted for your I-20/DS-2019 checklist.
  • Newly Admitted Student (F-1/J-1) – Admission Letter
  • Any standardized test scores  you submitted to UMD
  • Current Student (F-1/J-1) – Official Transcript and the Confirmation of visa status letter from iTerp
  • Professors, research scholars, short-term scholars and interns (J-1) - Invitation letter from your sponsoring department
  • OPT/STEM OPT (F-1) – Current OPT EAD Card and offer letter or proof of employment. If your STEM OPT application is still pending, ISSS does not recommend traveling abroad.
  • Post-Completion Academic Training (J-1) – Offer letter or proof of employment

Note: Citizens of Canada and Bermuda do not require visas to enter the United States as students. However, you must pay the SEVIS fee and present a valid Form I-20 at the time of admission. For more information see U.S. Department of State information for Citizens of Canada and Bermuda

Original bottom portion and a copy of the original I-797 H-1B Approval Notice and travel packet.   Appointment letter or job offer letter on university letterhead stating:

  • Your position title and salary
  • Academic Department
  • Dates of Employment
  • Brief job description

Note: individuals in H-1B status are viewed as having a dual intent when entering the U.S. Dual intent means that the H-1B holder may intend either to return home at the end of the H-1B program or to apply for immigrant status.

  • Original certified and signed Labor Condition Application
  • Proof of payment of the visa fee.

Important: A person in initial E-3 status can enter the U.S. up to 10 days before the E-3 start date

Mexican Citizens do need to apply for a visa using their original and signed TN letter provided by the department, or they may present the original bottom portion and a copy of the original I-797 TN Approval Notice.

Canadian Citizens do not need to apply for a visa. You can enter the U.S. using your original and signed TN letter provided by the department.

Important: A person in initial TN status can enter the U.S. up to 10 days before the TN start date.

Immediate family members (spouse and unmarried children under the age of 21) who will come with you to the U.S. may apply for dependent visas. You need to bring documents that prove your relationship. These can include a marriage certificate, birth certificate, or official family registry.

If your dependents go to the visa interview alone, they will need to bring copies of all the documents listed above for your visa category.

If all goes according to plan, you will receive a visa stamp in your passport. Congratulations! Check your visa for errors before you leave the U.S. Embassy or Consulate.

You may not enter the U.S. on your F-1 or J-1 visa more than 30 days prior to the report date on your I-20/DS-2019. Keep in mind the visa itself does not guarantee admission into the U.S.; all other documents must be in order as well .

Individuals entering the U.S. in H-1B/O-1/E-3/TN status may enter the U.S. no more than 10 days before their start date.

Please contact ISSS if you received a late visa appointment and will not be able to enter the U.S. by the report date on your I-20/DS-2019, or if your visa application has been denied.

Note: For J-1 visa holders, the U.S. Embassies may put your DS-2019 in a sealed envelope and staple it to your passport. We recommended that you do not open this envelope. The Immigration officer at the U.S. port-of-entry will open it and check your documents when you arrive.

If you have difficulty scheduling your visa appointment due to an unforeseen situation, such as a funeral or medical emergency, you may request an Expedited Visa Interview . Check the instructions posted on your U.S. Embassy website to schedule visa interviews. You will have to provide proof of your need for an early appointment.

Your I-20/DS2019 start date provides the necessary information you need to demonstrate your start date at UMD. Feel free to use our visa expedition letter if you feel it will assist your immigration case.

  • Administrative Processing    The U.S. Embassy may inform you your visa requires Administrative Processing. This means the consular officer needs more information before deciding to issue you a visa. Administrative processing can result in significant delays in visa issuance. Contact us and your UMD department if you will be unable to arrive for the start of your program.
  • Visa Denial    Contact us if your visa application has been denied

You only need the visa stamp in your passport to enter into the United States. Once you are in the U.S. the visa stamp may expire as long as you have:

  • A passport that is valid for at least six months into the future
  • An unexpired I-20 (for F-1s) or DS-2019 (for J-1s)
  • An I-94 that indicates D/S (F-1 and J-1 only) or a date into the future
  • A valid I-797 Approval Notice or valid I-94 for H-1B, O-1, E-3 or TN

If you leave the country, you will need to apply for a new visa before returning to the United States.
