  • The Importance of Pillows on Carnival Cruise

On a Carnival Cruise, pillows are more than just soft accessories. They are an essential component of guest comfort and sleep quality. The right pillow can make a significant difference in how well you rest and relax during your time onboard.

One of the primary reasons why pillows are so important is their contribution to proper spinal alignment. Whether you’re sitting in a cozy chair or getting ready for bed, a pillow that offers adequate support to your head and neck ensures that your spine stays aligned. This alignment helps to alleviate any strain or discomfort that may arise from improper posture.

Another aspect of pillow usage on Carnival Cruise is providing a sense of familiarity and homeliness to passengers. While cruising, guests may be away from their own beds and pillows, which can be an adjustment in terms of comfort. Carnival Cruise understands this, which is why they invest in high-quality pillows to mimic the comfort and familiarity of home. This attention to detail enhances the overall guest experience and helps create a relaxed and cozy environment for passengers.

Pillows also play a significant role in promoting relaxation and proper sleep. After a fun-filled day of activities and exploring, guests need a comfortable place to unwind and recharge. The right pillow can provide the necessary comfort and support, ensuring a restful night’s sleep and leaving guests feeling rejuvenated and ready for another day of adventures.

Moreover, Carnival Cruise recognizes that different individuals have different sleep preferences and needs. Some people prefer softer pillows, while others require firmer ones for proper support. By offering a variety of pillow options, Carnival Cruise ensures that every guest can find their perfect match. This commitment to customization and personalization is part of what sets Carnival Cruise apart and keeps guests coming back for more.

Overall, the importance of pillows on Carnival Cruise cannot be overstated. From providing proper spinal alignment to creating a sense of comfort and relaxation, pillows are an essential aspect of guest satisfaction and well-being during their time at sea.

  • Memory Foam Pillows

For guests seeking extra support and personalized comfort, Carnival Cruise offers memory foam pillows as a premium option. These pillows are designed to contour to the shape of your head and neck, providing customized support and cushioning for a truly luxurious sleep experience.

Memory foam pillows are made from a special type of foam that responds to heat and pressure. When you lay your head on a memory foam pillow, it molds to the natural curves of your head and neck, creating a cradle-like effect. This contouring feature helps to distribute weight evenly, relieving pressure points and promoting better spinal alignment.

One of the key benefits of memory foam pillows is their ability to provide targeted support. As the foam conforms to your unique shape, it offers support precisely where you need it the most. This can help alleviate neck and shoulder pain, reduce tossing and turning during the night, and enhance overall sleep quality.

In addition to their supportive properties, memory foam pillows on Carnival Cruise also excel in motion isolation. This means that if your cabin mate moves or shifts during the night, the memory foam absorbs the movement, minimizing any disturbances and allowing for uninterrupted sleep.

Furthermore, memory foam pillows are known for their exceptional durability. The high-quality foam used on Carnival Cruise is designed to retain its shape and supportiveness for extended periods. This means that even after multiple uses, the memory foam pillow will continue to provide the same level of comfort and support as when it was new.

When it comes to cleanliness, memory foam pillows on Carnival Cruise are equipped with removable and washable covers. These covers are often made of soft and breathable materials that promote airflow and keep the pillow fresh and hygienic throughout your cruise.

Whether you have specific neck or back issues, or simply prefer the customized support and comfort of memory foam, Carnival Cruise ensures that you can indulge in the luxury of memory foam pillows during your journey. Immerse yourself in the sublime comfort and contouring experience of memory foam and enjoy nights of restful slumber aboard the ship.

  • Down Pillows

For guests who appreciate a touch of luxury and indulgence, Carnival Cruise offers down pillows as a premium option for a truly plush sleep experience. Down pillows are known for their exceptional softness and loft, providing a cozy and comforting feel.

Down is the fine cluster of feathers found beneath the protective outer feathers of geese or ducks. These clusters are exceptionally soft and lightweight, giving down pillows their signature fluffy and airy texture. When compressed, down quickly regains its shape, offering immediate support and comfort to your head and neck.

One of the standout features of down pillows used on Carnival Cruise is their superior insulation properties. Down clusters trap air, creating a layer of warmth around you as you sleep. This ensures that you stay comfortably cozy, even in cooler cabin environments or on chilly nights at sea.

Moreover, down pillows excel in their ability to conform to your sleeping position and provide gentle cradling support. Whether you sleep on your back, side, or stomach, the down clusters in the pillow adjust to the contours of your head, promoting proper alignment and reducing pressure points.

When it comes to care, Carnival Cruise ensures that their down pillows are of the highest quality. These pillows are typically made with a high fill power, indicating the fluffiness and quality of the down. The covers of down pillows are often crafted from a luxurious and breathable fabric, ensuring maximum comfort.

It’s worth noting that down pillows do require regular fluffing and maintenance to maintain their plushness and loft. Carnival Cruise provides detailed instructions on how to care for the down pillows during your voyage, allowing you to enjoy the luxurious comfort they offer throughout your cruise experience.

If you desire the ultimate in softness and luxury, the down pillows on Carnival Cruise are sure to exceed your expectations. Sink into the sumptuous embrace of down and experience the unparalleled comfort and elegance it brings to your sleep onboard the ship.

  • Firm Pillows

For guests who prefer a firmer and more supportive pillow option, Carnival Cruise offers firm pillows to ensure a comfortable and restful sleep experience. These pillows are specially designed to provide extra stability and support, catering to individuals who require firmer cushioning for optimal relaxation.

Firm pillows are constructed with materials that offer resistance, ensuring that the pillow remains plump and supportive throughout the night. The fillings used in these pillows are typically denser and more structured, providing a solid foundation for your head and neck.

One of the main advantages of firm pillows on Carnival Cruise is their ability to maintain proper spinal alignment. The firmness of these pillows helps to prevent your head from sinking too deeply, which can lead to misalignment and discomfort. By keeping your head and neck properly supported, firm pillows can alleviate any strain or tension that may develop during sleep.

While firm pillows offer stability, they also provide a level of softness to ensure a comfortable sleep surface. The outer covers of these pillows are often made from soft and breathable fabrics, enhancing comfort and promoting airflow to avoid overheating during the night.

Furthermore, firm pillows can be particularly beneficial for individuals who suffer from certain health conditions, such as chronic neck or back pain. The additional support provided by these pillows can help alleviate discomfort and promote better sleep quality.

It’s important to note that, as with any pillow, personal preferences vary. Some guests may find that a firm pillow offers the ideal level of support and comfort, while others may prefer softer options. Carnival Cruise understands this and strives to provide a diverse range of pillow choices to suit the needs and preferences of all guests.

If you enjoy a firm and stable pillow that keeps your head and neck properly aligned, the firm pillows on Carnival Cruise are the perfect choice for you. Experience the benefits of enhanced support and enjoy a restful night’s sleep during your cruise vacation.

  • Decorative Pillows

In addition to pillows for sleeping and relaxation, Carnival Cruise enhances the aesthetic appeal of their cabins and lounges with decorative pillows. Decorative pillows on Carnival Cruise come in a variety of shapes, sizes, and designs to complement the overall theme and decor of the ship. They are carefully selected to create a visually appealing environment while striking a balance between comfort and aesthetics.

The primary function of decorative pillows is to enhance the visual appeal of the living spaces. They are strategically placed on sofas, chairs, and beds to add pops of color, texture, and pattern. Whether it’s an intricately embroidered pillow, a vibrant print, or a luxurious velvet accent, these pillows effortlessly elevate the decor, creating a more inviting and visually interesting space.

Although decorative pillows are primarily used for a stylish touch, they still offer a certain level of comfort. The fillings used in these pillows are often chosen to provide a soft and plush feel, ensuring that guests can comfortably rest or lean against them while enjoying the various onboard activities.

Decorative pillows also contribute to the overall relaxation experience by creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The softness and warmth that these pillows provide add an extra layer of comfort, making guests feel at ease and allowing them to fully immerse themselves in the tranquil surroundings of the ship.

While decorative pillows are primarily used for their aesthetic appeal, Carnival Cruise prioritizes the comfort factor as well. All pillows, including the decorative ones, are made with high-quality materials and carefully crafted to meet the standards of comfort expected by their guests.

So, whether you’re lounging in the plush chairs at the poolside bar or curling up on a cozy sofa in your cabin, the decorative pillows on Carnival Cruise contribute to the overall ambiance and create an atmosphere of relaxation and elegance.

Cruise Ship Beds: Here’s What’s Under the Blanket

Walk into your cruise cabin to start your trip and the first thing you’ll notice is a perfectly made bed. With crisp white sheets and a soft, fluffy comforter, the bed looks so inviting. But have you ever wondered exactly what you’re sleeping on?

After all, dozens of people will sleep in that same bed over the course of a year. Meanwhile, if you’re particular about bedding, how do you know if the bed will be comfy or if it will be hard as a rock with scratchy sheets?

If you’re wondering more about what exactly you’ll be sleeping on during your cruise, then we have you covered.

The Bed You Sleep on When Cruising

Cruise ship bed

The first thing to keep in mind is that different cruise lines will have different bedding available, so exactly what you sleep on may differ from what’s shown here. However, in our experience the major cruise lines seems to have similar beds and sheets. The bed featured in this article was aboard a recent cruise with Carnival.

If you’re expecting the sort of mattress and bed that you’d find at a five-star hotel, then you should temper your expectations. Cruise ship beds are designed more for utility than comfort. With thousands of passengers coming in and out each week, beds see a lot of turnover.

That means cruise line beds need to be able to be configured as one king-sized bed or two smaller beds. They also need to be able to be moved quickly by a single room steward instead of being a heavy mattress that requires multiple people to move.

Beds are thinner and lighter than what you might find in a traditional hotel. For instance, the bed frame is a simple metal frame with a wire mesh to support the bed. The mattress simply sits right on top of the metal.

Cruise ship bed frame

The mattress is utilitarian as well. Don’t expect to see pillow-top mattresses on your cruise. In our experience the mattress are comfortable enough if you don’t mind a firm bed. What is an issue is mattress wear. Often you will find the middle of the mattress (where people position themselves at night) to be more compressed than the edges. So you end up sleeping in a small bowl. If your mattresses are pushed together to form a king-sized bed, don’t be surprised if there is a definite “ridge” where the two beds connect, with dips on either side.

Cruise ship mattress

Bedding on the Cruise

Like the mattress and frame, expect the bedding, sheets, and pillows to be commercial grade. Here, Carnival’s supplier is Harbor Linen. The company is known as a “a leading manufacturer and distributor of institutional linens, case goods and apparel to the hospitality, healthcare, cruise line and food service industries” according to their website.

Pillows are a nice medium when it comes to comfort. They are not paper thin, nor are they extremely fluffy. Stomach sleepers will appreciate that they offer plenty of support without being too suffocating.

Sheets are a blend of 60% polyester and 40% cotton. They certainly aren’t the softest, but the repeated washings do soften them somewhat.

Pulling back the top sheet, cruise ship beds have a bottom sheet along with mattress covers. That means there are at least two layers between the mattress and your body as you sleep. Our bed recently had three layers.

Pillow are similar. The pillow itself is encased in a fitted cloth pillowcase, which is all then wrapped in a regular pillowcase. There are two layers between your head and the actual pillow.

Cleanliness of the Cruise Ship Bed

If you think about it, staying in any hotel bed is a little strange. Different people sleep there every night. Even if you’re not a germaphobe, sleeping in the same bed as a stranger — even if everything has been washed — is a little unsettling.

In our experience, cruise lines do a good job of keeping things clean. All sheets have been clean and free of stains. As well, even when we took off the sheets, the mattress was clean and stain-free, as was the pillow. (Note: in some pictures the sheets look “yellowed”. That’s due to the lighting in the cabin and our camera.)

Final Thoughts

All in all, cruise ship beds are best described as adequate. You won’t go home wishing you could bring the cabin bed back with you, however, you also likely won’t tossing and turning all night. The beds serve their purpose without being too extravagant.

Sheets are clean but how about the blankets? Are they washed in-between guests also? I’ve alwyas heard hotels don’t wash their top bedding but once a year.

Royal Caribbean has the hardest beds on the planet so if you like a firm mattress you are in luck.

Just took my first cruise on Carnival Liberty and was concerned about being able to sleep well, since bed seemed too soft when I sat on it… OMG – I absolutely loved it. The bed – pillows – down comforter… Perfect. Had zero issues.

Same, just got back from the Carnival Conquest and all I can talk about is that dang bed. I had the best sleep that I very much needed. White crisp comforter and soft mattress didn’t seem that firm like the article making it to be, I have been looking for mattresses similar to that one at home that’s how cozy and comfortable it was.

Where can I purchase the Blue Blanket used on Dream Cruise ship.

Where can you purchase the single beds used in cruise industry?

We have no idea. Might contact the cruise line itself.

I would like to know about mattress I am in for buying a new firm queen one and I like the small twin pillows and the sheets, all felt good, didn’t think about until I came home to look at name.sheets…very soft and feel good sheets.

@Carole, after some research, I found the brand on the Carnival and Disney Cruises to be Harbor Linen.

When one thinks of a cruise, cozy pillows are usually the last thing on their mind. But one of the key ingredients of a positive cruise experience is comfort, and plush pillows are essential aids to drifting off into dreamland. Carnival Cruise understands this and they make sure they equip their cabins with the most comfortable pillows to ensure a restful night’s sleep.

What type of pillows does Carnival Cruise use?

Are the pillows on carnival cruise comfortable, are the pillows on carnival cruise hypoallergenic.

When you book a cruise with Carnival Cruise, you can count on a great selection of pillows that range from firm to fluffy and come in a variety of shapes and sizes. The pillows in the cruise cabins are all softer and friendlier than the standard hotel-style pillows. A luxurious trip starts with the basics, and Carnival Cruise provides their guests with amenities like pillow toppers, pillow shams, and cozy pillowcases to add that extra layer of comfort and boost guests’ sleep quality.

Carnival Cruise’s choice of pillows come in two main form factors — down pillows and foam pillows. Down pillows are often the most preferred pillows on the cruise because they provide a soft cushion and hug your head and neck each night as you move around while you sleep. The lightweight and breathable fabric of down pillows also helps to reduce heat buildup and moisture, helping to keep you cool in the hot weather and heat of the day. Additionally, the fabric confers extra benefits since it’s naturally hypoallergenic and, unlike synthetic microfiber or synthetic fillings, won’t cause any allergic reactions.

Aside from down pillows, Carnival Cruise’s beds also come with foam pillows. Foam pillows are firmer than down pillows and are favored for their medium level of support, which helps to maintain head and neck alignment as you move between various sleep positions. The foam pillows also come with a breathable fabric cover, which helps in regulating body temperature and wicking away any moisture. On top of that, the fabric covers are hypoallergenic and come with a triple-needle, self-corded edge that adds a touch of elegance to the bed.

Finally, Carnival Cruise also has pillows filled with a mixture of Down and Down alternative. This combination gives you the best of both worlds—the luxury of a down pillow, with the added support and stability of a foam pillow. And, even better, the fabric cover

When you plan a trip on a Carnival Cruise Line cruise ship, you want to ensure you have the right items to make your vacation comfortable and memorable. Questions such as “what type of pillows does Carnival Cruise use?” are important to make sure you get the best sleep each night.

Carnival Cruise Lines strives for excellence in hospitality, and part of that is providing comfortable accommodations and items that contribute to a good night’s sleep. Carnival uses a variety of different pillows to cover a range of sleep needs and preferences. Depending on the stateroom and cruise package you purchase, you can expect to find various types of luxury pillows on the ship.

The most common type of pillow used on Carnival Cruise ships is the Sleep Pillow by Sealy Posturepedic. This is a popular pillow for the cruise line, due to its superior comfort and superior construction . The pillow is filled with Sealy’s own patented Comfort Foam, and is specially designed to provide a supportive surface while you sleep. The pillow also has a hypoallergenic fiber layer, so it is ideal for those with sensitivities. In addition, the Sleep Pillow is resilient, meaning it can retain its shape and comfort level even after multiple uses.

Carnival Cruise Line also provides their premium-level Grand Suite room guests with a luxurious down pillow. These pillows are made with goose down, so they are pliable yet supportive, providing a comfortable cradle for your head. You can pillow hop between these luxurious down pillows and the Sleep Pillow for an extra-cozy sleeping experience.

Carnival also uses a variety of other types of pillows, including memory foam, synthetic microfiber, feather, and foam pillows. Memory foam pillows are the most popular nowadays, due to their molding capabilities and their therapeutic properties . Meanwhile, synthetic microfiber pillows offer a traditional feel and look, but with superior materials and resiliency. Finally, feather and foam pillows provide a classic feel , and are often combined with another layer of cushioning like down to provide more comfort.

Whichever pillow you decide to use, you can rest assured it will be comfortable. Carnival Cruise Line goes to great lengths to ensure their guests have the best possible sleeping experience, and their selection of pillows plays an important part in this. On your next cruise with Carnival, try

Are the pillows on Carnival Cruise hypoallergenic? This is a common question among many people planning a Carnival Cruise that have allergies or need hypoallergenic bedding. The short answer is yes, the cruise line does provide hypoallergenic pillows for guests.

Carnival Cruise Line is the largest cruise line in the world, and they take the comfort of their passengers very seriously. The company strives to provide a comfortable and clean environment on their ships, with accommodations that meet the needs of all passengers, including allergies and special needs. To ensure this, Carnival Cruise offers hypoallergenic pillows in all their staterooms. These pillows are made with a powder-free, synthetic microfiber filling, which is designed to be resistant to dust mites, pet dander, and other allergens.

As with any other type of pillow, the hypoallergenic pillows provided by Carnival Cruise could require additional cleaning on a regular basis. Vacuuming the pillow with a low-suction vacuum and laundering in hot water periodically helps reduce the number of dust mites and other allergens. Additionally, some passengers may prefer to take their own travel pillow with them when traveling on Carnival Cruise. If a passenger does this and does not use the cruise line's hypoallergenic pillows, it is important for them to regularly clean and change the pillow case, cover, and pillow itself in order to reduce the risk of allergy triggers.

In addition to the hypoallergenic pillows, Carnival Cruise also offers other accommodations that help reduce the risks of allergens and asthma triggers. This includes specially formulated detergents, commercial-grade vacuums with HEPA filters, and organic, hypoallergenic cleaning products. The cruise line also provides bedding and towels designed for those with allergies, as well as an air purification system that filters the air on board the ship. This system is especially beneficial those with asthma, allergies, and other respiratory issues.

To further reduce the risk of allergies on a Carnival Cruise, passengers can also request double-paned windows and doors to help keep out allergens such as pollen, dust mites, and more. Additionally, passengers can also request dehumidifiers to help keep the air inside the stateroom balanced and free of allergens.

Overall, Carnival Cruise does provide hypoaller

Are the pillows on Carnival Cruise machine washable?

Are the pillows on Carnival Cruise machine washable? Carnival Cruise pillows are made of materials that can be machine washed and dried with ease. Generally speaking, the vast majority of Carnival Cruise pillows are machine washable and can be easily put into the washing machine with your other bedding and linens.

The advantage of washing Carnival Cruise pillows in the machine is that it is a quick and efficient way to freshen them up and get rid of any build-up of sweat and oils from your body. Furthermore, a simple spin cycle in the machine can also fluff up any flattened spots on the pillow for a more comfortable night’s sleep.

When it comes to the material of Carnival Cruise pillows, it is best to double check what the pillow is made of before putting it in the washing machine. Different types of materials require different types of washing, such as separate cold water cycles for feather pillows and a mild detergent or a gentle cycle on the washing machine for memory foam pillows.

To get the most out of your Carnival Cruise pillow, it is important to read the care instructions on the label of the pillow before washing. The most important point to remember is not to bleach the Carnival Cruise pillows, as this will ruin them. Furthermore, never place the Carnival Cruise pillows in the dryer as the heat can damage them, instead hang to dry outdoors or place on a drying rack indoors.

Once you know that your Carnival Cruise pillow is machine washable, it is a good idea to check the instructions of your washing machine prior to washing the pillows in order to choose the correct water and detergent settings . To get a deep clean, ensure the detergent is at a mid-range level, as too much detergent can cause the pillows to lose their shape or leave behind unsightly stains. Additionally, it may be a good idea to use a white vinegar rinse to add a brightening aspect to the pillow.

In conclusion, the vast majority of Carnival Cruise pillows are machine washable and can be easily added to a wash load with other linens and bedding, without fear of ruining or damaging the pillows. Furthermore, it is important to check the care instructions on the pillow and to be aware of any materials that need to be treated differently in the wash cycle. Finally, the most important reminder is to never use bleach or the dryer, as this can damage

Nearly every oceangoing cruise ship is set up with two twin beds or one two-person bed, ranging from a double to a king, depending on cruise line and cabin type. You will not find the two-double-bed setup so common in hotel rooms. Some river and expedition ships do have rooms with beds that are only singles or only doubles and cannot be switched. Solo cabins, found on a handful of lines, feature one bed, which will either be a twin or a full, again depending on the line.

Beds are generally flanked by nightstands and reading lights.

Yes, most oceangoing cruise ships have convertible beds, meaning that a double bed is actually made up of two twins pushed together, often with some kind of mattress pad on top so you don't feel the crack between the two beds. You can request your preferred bed configuration on your cruise line's website for booked passengers or from your travel agent. If the room still isn't made up to your liking when you arrive, just ask your cabin steward to split the beds or push them together, as desired.

Some standard cruise ship cabins can only sleep two, but many can sleep three, four or five passengers. Extra berths are either pullout sofas, bunkbeds that pull down from the wall or drop from the ceiling or rollaway cots. In addition, special family cabins or multi-room suites intended for large groups traveling together can have multiple bedrooms and sleep six or more passengers.

Most mainstream and luxury cruise ships do carry portable cribs (of the pack-n-play variety) for babies . River and expedition lines generally won't, as they don't cater to very young children. It's best to request a crib when booking your cruise, to make sure there's one available, but if you forget, you can ask for one onboard.

People have varying tastes in mattress firmness and bed linen type, but cruise lines do put effort into making their beds as comfortable as possible. You can expect high-quality cotton or cotton-blend sheets, pillowcases and duvet covers, fluffy pillows (down or memory foam) and duvets, and often custom mattresses. Luxury lines pride themselves on high-end bedding collections with 1,000-count 100-percent Egyptian cotton sheets, down duvets and mattresses made exclusively for the line.

If you are particularly sensitive to down, most cruise lines will have an alternative, with cotton, polyester or cotton-poly blend blankets, pillows and sheets.

Just ask your cabin steward if you can swap. As noted above, most lines will carry blankets for those allergic to down duvets.

Standard cruise cabins on mainstream ships don't offer a choice of pillows. As noted, you can request a hypoallergenic pillow, but if you haven't requested one in advance, you take your chances that a spare one is available. Upper-category suites and luxury lines often offer a pillow menu. For example, Silversea Cruises offers multiple options, including various down-and-feather blends, memory foam, buckwheat, body, polyester and scented silk.

Generally, your cabin steward will change your sheets every three days -- unless you request a different schedule or your sheets are obviously dirty (ie, you spilled wine on them or inadvertently slept on your pillow chocolates). Some high-end suites receive new sheets daily.

Most stewards will make your bed every morning and remake it for turndown service every evening, so you never have to worry about having a neat bed to sit, nap or sleep on.

Yes, most cruise ship beds are raised high enough to store your empty suitcases underneath. Occasionally, you'll find below-bed drawers to hold extra duvets and linens.

Some cruise lines carry egg crate mattress toppers, so if you're uncomfortable, ask your cabin steward if your ship has any. You can also inquire about alternative pillow or blanket types. If you're really uncomfortable, it might be because you're sleeping on the pullout couch as a third passenger in a cabin; they usually have different mattresses from the regular beds and aren't as comfortable. Ask for extra padding to soften up the firm mattress.

Some cruise travelers are picky about the direction their bed faces, often preferring to face the same direction the cruise ship is traveling. They don't like when their bed faces backward, or aft. (Most people don't even notice.) There's not much you can do once onboard, other than inquire if there's an open cabin in a similar category with a bed facing the right way. Better to inquire when booking if there's a way to book a cabin with a forward-facing bed.

Yes! Many cruise lines -- including Carnival, Holland America, Princess, Norwegian, Oceania and Regent Seven Seas -- sell their exclusive mattresses and bedding collections, so you can recreate your luxurious cruise bed experience at home. Often, you'll get flyers onboard or you can purchase through the cruise line's website.

The mattress is one of the most important aspects of a good night's rest. Cruise ships frequently invest in some of the highest-quality mattresses on the market. These mattresses are customized to provide the highest level of support, comfort, temperature regulation, and beauty to ensure a deep and uninterrupted night of sleep.

3. What brand sheets does Carnival use?

Hotel bedding blankets Life, by Dorelan

As one of the most well-known cruise lines, Carnival offers a comfortable sleeping experience that often has guests wondering what kind of sheets they use. The answer? They have their own exclusive line of bedding known as the Carnival Comfort Collection. Their pillows, blankets, pillowcases, duvets and more are designed to offer the kind of rest that guests expect from their cruise.

4. What size are the beds on a cruise?

Usually, cruise ship cabins have either two twin-sized beds per cabin, or a single bed that is double, queen, or king-sized. The latter arrangement is ideal for couples wishing to share a bed during their vacation. This variety in arrangement makes it easier to find a cabin that will accommodate your sleep needs. Just make sure to ask about the bed arrangement when you book your cabin.

5. Which cotton bedsheets are the best?

When you want a quality, luxurious sleep experience from your sheets, you want cotton sheets with a high thread count. Premium cotton sheets meet the following requirements. You can expect to find them on almost every cruise ship to enhance the supportive and luxurious rest experience you get from the cruise ship mattress.

  • Extra-long fibers, called  long-staple fibers
  • Thread count  between 200 and 400
  • Sateen  weaves
  • Cotton/polyester  blends  or 100% cotton

6. What is the best material for a sheet?

You can choose from many materials for your sheets. Polyester, silk, linen, and even bamboo all make comfortable and serviceable sheets. The best material for a sheet, however, is usually cotton or a cotton blend. Why? Because cotton is a soft, breathable, and elegant material that creates bedding that is conducive to a restorative night of sleep.

7. How firm is a cruise ship mattress?

When you purchase your own bedding, like that from Dorelan, you can pick the firmness you want (along with many other features, such as the material, color, and other specifics). However, cruise ships have to select a firmness that will best suit the majority of their guests. That is why most cruise lines put firm or medium-firm mattresses on their ships. If you prefer a softer feel to your mattress, you can bring your own bed topper, and then buy an exquisite mattress for yourself, in your preferred firmness.

8. Will I get a choice of pillow on the cruise ship?

Most cruise ships do not offer a choice of pillows for your cabin or, if they do, the selection is often limited. However, they usually invest in comfortable, high-quality pillows that will suit the sleep needs of a wide variety of guests. Want more? You can typically request additional pillows once you are on the ship. And, you can always bring your own pillow to enjoy a homelike sleep experience. If you love your cruise pillow, you can always ask about buying the same pillow to enjoy at home.

9. What happens if my bed is uncomfortable?

Cruise ships put a lot of time and effort into providing you with bedding that makes for a comfortable sleep experience. However, if you get to your cabin and find that your bed is uncomfortable, you do have some options.

  • Request more pillows.
  • Ask for a mattress topper.
  • Ask about blanket alternatives.

10. Can you buy cruise line bedding?

Absolutely! If you are impressed by the quality of your bedding, and the depth of your sleep, you can almost always find the mattress and linens you used on your cruise ship and purchase them for yourself.

For example,  Dorelan  is used and trusted by cruise lines around the world, and we offer those same premium products to customers around the world. Just visit us online or in our Miami showroom to find the Made in Italy bedding that is designed with state-of-the-art technology and exquisite comfort that you experienced on your favorite cruise.

Cool Cruiser

We loved the pillows on the Dream but they cannot be shipped to Canada. If anyone has ordered them you could please check the label and let me know the manufacturing company. Thanks so much.

What is so great about these pillows?

Just curious because I'm VERY particular about my pillow and I really don't want to take mine on our June cruise for obvious reasons. I'm a side sleeper and need to have a firm rather full pillow or else I have trouble with my arms going numb on the side I'm laying on. Also I like a knee pillow, do they give you more than one per person?

Thanks in advance, this will be my first cruise on Carnival and I am SO excited.

I am also a "side sleeper" and have no problems with Carnival pillows. If you want extras, just ask your room steward. On our cruises, we have the two twins put together as a "king" and we get four pillows.

My husband has a very bad neck and mine is so-so. We have tried almost every different kind of pillow out there without success. The Carnival pillows were great for both of us. We are also side sleepers. Anyway, my quest to obtain them continues.

I found some info on the Carnival Bedding collection:

www.carnivalcomfortcollection.com

To order call 800·922·1580

can you get the down pillows even if you are not in a suite?

I'm not sure as I have never stayed in a suite nor ever had the desire to order any other kind of pillow. The pillows in the regular state rooms are just fine with me. My husband as a previous poster mentioned has problem with shoulder and arm and after returning home from the last cruise we decided had to have those pillows. We both sleep much better and although they are full and fluffy your head just kinda sinks into it in a good sort of way.... makes me feel like I'm sleeping on a cloud.

The website does mention the Goose Down Suite Pillows and I'm sure they are great too, but for now the Microfiber is SWEET enough for me.

This is the description of the regular stateroom pillows:

New Generation - Stateroom Pillow

A New Generation in pillow technology provides the highest quality, most down-like pillow available. Manufactured with our unique, totally non-allergenic micro fiber fill and high thread count ticking which resists stains. Simply the finest, softest, highest quality, non-allergenic pillow available today.

Made in Italy, made for you

Enjoy Italian design , manufacturing , and attention to detail from your mattress to your bath mat. Our Royal Caribbean Bedding Collection promises to recreate a relaxation sanctuary for your sleeping and post-bathing pleasure in the privacy of your own home.

I recently purchased the Royal Mattress and can not say enough good things about it! First of all my sleep has drastically improved and I wake with less pain in my back…after years of waking up every couple of hours because my mattress was not providing the proper support. And, as an added bonus I also received a free sheet set!

Melissa Frias

If there was a stronger word for soft I would use it to describe the feeling of these sheets ! Love, love, love.

Angie Nicholson

Funny enough one of the many great memories I have from my family cruise was the TOWELS . They were delicious and I was so happy to learn that they were available for purchase. I enjoyed them so much I bought the sets and gave them as Christmas gifts! Now I have my eye on the matching bathrobe.

Cunard added a 4th luxury cruise ship to its famous fleet — see what it'll be like on the new Queen Anne

  • Cunard  welcomed its fourth ship and newest in 14 years, the 2,996-guest Queen Anne.
  • The 114,000-ton vessel has amenities like an Indian restaurant and pool under a retractable glass roof.
  • Queen Anne's 2024 itineraries, primarily in Europe, start at $300 per person for a two-night cruise.

Insider Today

Cunard has operated 249 ships throughout its 184 years in operation, including the famous Queen Mary and Queen Mary 2. But it's been 14 years since the cruise line has launched a new vessel — until now.

Luxury cruisers , meet Queen Anne. It's Cunard's latest 2,996-guest ship, replete with 4,300 art pieces, archery, and the company's signature high-end flair. Its arrival was so highly anticipated that every cabin on its May 3 maiden voyage was fully reserved in minutes, the BBC reported.

The Carnival Corp. brand may be storied, but that doesn’t mean it’s past its prime.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Katie McAlister, president of Cunard, recently told the BBC that its bookings have grown 25% since the beginning of 2024 and are now the best they've been in a decade.

So it should come as no surprise that several of Queen Anne's 2024 itineraries are almost sold out.

Cunard isn’t in the business of building bigger.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Luxury cruise lines are beloved for their small-ship experience. Cunard is no different.

The new 114,000-ton cruise liner is the company's second-largest, although it can carry more guests than any of its other ships.

However, at a 2,996-guest and 1,225-crew capacity, Queen Anne is still tiny compared to the mass-market cruise industry's newest ships , the largest of which can carry 10,000 people.

Queen Anne's cabins are divided into four categories, listed from most to least luxurious: Queens Grill, Princess Grill, Britannia Club, and Britannia.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Despite being the cheapest option, the Britannia accommodations have high-end amenities like sparkling wine, Penhaligon toiletries, and tea and coffee machines.

That's nothing compared to the most luxurious Queens Grill suites, where guests get amenities like pillow menus, stocked mini-bars, a butler, fruit, and pre-dinner canapes.

Forget the sparkling wine — Queens Grill travelers get a bottle of Champagne.

Cabin categories are especially important for Cunard, not for reasons you might expect.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Besides how luxurious your hotel room at sea is, your cabin influences where you have breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Guests in the Princess Grill suites dine at the Princess Grill restaurant, while Britannia Club guests stick to the Britannia Club restaurant, and so on.

Guests in the higher-end Princess and Queens cabins also get a pretty sweet bonus: an exclusive lounge with infinity hot tubs.

Regardless of your cabin, the 14-deck ship has plenty of areas for all guests to relax under the sun.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

For example, the Pavilion. It's one of Queen Anne's go-to places for an afternoon swim, nighttime movie viewing, silent disco, and not-so-silent live music, all under a retractable glass roof.

The ship's pool club also has plenty of lounge seats for a more traditional pool deck experience. For something indoors, head to the drawing and game rooms instead.

Like every new cruise ship, Queen Anne has a pickleball court.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

But unlike every new cruise ship, it also has archery — coaches, bows, and arrows included.

Travelers looking for a less intense afternoon can instead try their hand at the putting green, shuffleboard, or quoits.

Not confident in your athletic abilities? Don't worry — there's a bar nearby, too.

If you lose your pickleball match, you can retail therapy your pain away at Queen Anne’s high-end stores.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Travelers have been splurging big on their cruise vacations . On Queen Anne (and with help from one of the ship's personal shoppers), this could include a Bremont watch or Chanel makeup.

Or, do as cruisers do: Eat and drink the pain away.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

The ship has 15 eateries. Unfortunately, you'll have to pay extra for the Mediterranean, Indian, Japanese, steakhouse grill, alfresco, and British restaurants.

Thankfully, the food hall-style buffet, room service, and cabin-assigned dining rooms are included in the fare.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Feeling peckish in the afternoon? Afternoon tea is held in the Queens Room, the same venue that hosts events like ballroom dancing and Cunard's signature black-tie galas.

Of course, a cruise wouldn’t be complete without a casino, spa, and nighttime shows.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Queen Anne is showing two new productions, including an adaptation of the classic British film "Brief Encounter."

For more casual entertainment, the ship also has a "show bar" helmed by a variety of musicians and entertainers.

For a more relaxing afternoon, try the spa's cryotherapy, "experience showers," and salt saunas.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

Afterwards, to keep the wellness trend going, grab a healthy bite at the veggie and "sustainably sourced protein"-forward Wellness Cafe. Its kombucha bellinis are technically good for you, right?

Cunard is beloved for its regular transatlantic cruises on its Queen Mary 2 ocean liner.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

In 2025, Queen Anne will embark on its first three-month around-the-world cruise. However, for the most part, it's not scheduled for repeat long-haul journeys .

Instead, in 2024, the ship will be homeported in Southampton, UK and travel on two- to 19-night itineraries across Europe.

The cheapest way to experience the new ship is a two-night summer cruise from Southampton to Hamburg, Germany, which currently starts at $300 per person.

what pillows do carnival cruise lines use

But if money is no problem, the 18-night roundtrip Hamburg cruise during Christmas and the New Year might pique your interest — and your wallet. The itinerary's luxurious Queens Grill suites start at $19,350 per person.
