Reins of the Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth

Jump to: Obtaining | Cost | Vendors | Dismissing Vendors | Changing Vendors

The Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth is the first-ever mount in WoW to both have vendors and offer taxi functionality. It was introduced in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion and remains incredibly useful to this day.

Obtaining the Mount

You can purchase this mount from a vendor in Old Dalaran named Mei Francis.

A map of Old Dalaran with a red square around Mei Francis' location

Alliance and Horde players can quickly navigate to Old Dalaran by using their respective portals in Stormwind and Orgrimmar.

The Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth’s cost depends on your reputation with the Kirin Tor faction.

If you can’t afford the mount, it’ll probably be way faster to farm the missing gold rather than farm reputation with the Kirin Tor.

The Traveler’s Tundra Mammoth mount comes with two vendors:

  • Hakmud of Argus, a Draenei who sells food and water
  • Gnimo, a Mechagnome who offers reagents and repair services.

Dismissing the Vendors

If you want one or two friends to ride your mount, you must first dismiss one or both vendors (respectively).

To kick a vendor off the mount, search for the birds-eye image of the mammoth in the top-right corner of your screen.

Then, right click one of the yellow circles and click the “Eject Passenger” button.

Your friend(s) will then be able to ride on your mount!

Can You Change the Mount’s Vendors?

Unfortunately, you cannot replace either of the vendors with a new one (for Transmogrification, mail, etc.).

If you’d like to gain access to a Transmogrification NPC or an auctioneer NPC, you must buy and use the following mounts (respectively):

  • Grand Expedition Yak
  • Mighty Caravan Brutosaur.

Your Journey to Becoming a Mount Master

Welcome to the ultimate WoW mount guide! With over 800 mounts to collect and thousands of new players joining WoW every day, it can be quite overwhelming to figure out where to start.

But don’t worry, we’ve got you covered. Whether you’re a seasoned veteran or a complete beginner, this guide will help you on your journey to becoming a mount master! So, let’s dive right in!

Introduction to Mounts

In this section, we’ll discuss what mounts are and why they’re an essential aspect of the World of Warcraft experience.

Mounts are creatures that players can ride in the game to travel faster, showcase their personality and achievements, and make traveling more efficient.

Why Players Farm Mounts in World of Warcraft

World of Warcraft players farm mounts for several reasons, ranging from practical purposes to personal satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment. Here are the primary reasons why players farm mounts:

Faster Travel: Mounts improve a player’s in-game movement speed, allowing them to travel across Azeroth and other regions faster than on foot. This makes quests, exploration, and in-game activities more efficient and enjoyable.

Aesthetic Appeal: Players are drawn to the unique and diverse appearances of mounts, which come in various shapes, sizes, and styles. They often farm mounts to collect their favorite designs or to have a mount that matches their character’s theme or role-playing concept.

Prestige and Bragging Rights: Some mounts are rare or difficult to obtain, making them highly sought after. Owning a prestigious mount can be a status symbol, showcasing a player’s dedication, skill, and luck. Players often farm mounts to impress friends, guildmates, or other players.

Completionism and Collection: Many WoW players enjoy collecting in-game items, including mounts. With over 800 mounts available, collecting them all can be exciting and rewarding. Players may farm mounts to complete their collection, earn in-game achievements, or satisfy personal completionist goals.

In-Game Economy: Some mounts can be crafted, bought, or sold on the in-game auction house, making them valuable commodities. Players might farm mounts to sell for in-game currency or trade for other desirable items or services.

Social Interaction: Farming mounts can be a social activity, as players often group up or join communities dedicated to mount farming. This can lead to friendships, camaraderie, and a sense of belonging within the game world.

Resources for Mount Collectors

We’ll introduce you to a variety of useful resources and addons that can help you get mounts super easy in World of Warcraft. Here is a list of useful resources and addons that can assist you in collecting mounts in World of Warcraft:

Websites: Simple Armory: https://simplearmory.com Warcraft Mounts: https://www.warcraftmounts.com

World of Warcraft Mount Farming Addons: 1. All The Things (ATT) 2. Rarity

These tools will help you track your mount collection progress, identify missing mounts, and provide valuable information on how to obtain them.

Acquiring Mounts

In this section, we will explore the various methods to obtain mounts in World of Warcraft.

Quest Rewards: Some mounts can be earned as rewards for completing specific quests. These quests may involve completing a challenging storyline, a long series of tasks, or reaching a certain reputation level with a faction. Keep an eye out for quests that offer mounts as rewards, as they can be a straightforward way to add to your collection.

Drops: Mounts can drop from various boss encounters in dungeons and raids. However, the drop rate is often low, so you may need to run the content multiple times before obtaining the desired mount. It’s essential to research which bosses drop the mounts you’re after and ensure you meet the requirements to enter the dungeon or raid.

Achievements: Certain achievements will grant you special mounts as a reward. These achievements might involve completing a set number of dungeons or raids, reaching a specific PvP rank, or collecting a certain number of other mounts. Keep track of your achievements to unlock these exclusive mounts.

Crafting: Engineers and Tailors can create certain mounts, which can then be used by the player or sold to others. These mounts typically require rare materials and a high skill level in the relevant profession. If you have the necessary skills or know someone who does, crafting mounts can be a rewarding endeavor.

Vendors: Some mounts can be purchased from vendors with in-game currency or special tokens. These tokens might be earned through various in-game activities such as daily quests, reputation grinds, or event currencies. Be sure to visit different vendors and learn which mounts they offer for sale.

PvP: Participating in player-versus-player content, such as battlegrounds or arenas, can earn you mounts as rewards. You might need to reach a specific rank or accumulate a certain number of PvP currency to purchase these mounts. Engaging in PvP can be both fun and challenging, making it a popular way to obtain unique mounts.

Promotions and Events: Mounts are occasionally given as part of special promotions or in-game events, such as holiday celebrations, collector’s edition bonuses, or Blizzard’s marketing campaigns. Keep an eye on official announcements and participate in these events to snag limited-time mounts.

Farming Strategies

In this section, we’ll provide you with valuable tips and tricks to make your mount farming journey in World of Warcraft more enjoyable and efficient. By implementing these strategies, you can optimize your mount farming experience and increase your chances of success:

Know Your Target: Research the mounts you want to farm and their drop locations. Focus on one or a few at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed. By having a clear goal in mind, you can streamline your farming efforts and avoid wasting time on irrelevant content.

Be Prepared: Make sure your character is geared and skilled enough to handle the content where your desired mount drops. This might involve leveling up, acquiring better gear, or familiarizing yourself with boss mechanics. Being well-prepared will improve your chances of successfully farming the mount.

Use Addons: Addons like Rarity, All The Things (ATT), and Simple Armory can help you keep track of your progress and identify mounts you’re missing. These tools provide valuable information on mount drop rates, locations, and requirements, making your farming journey more organized and efficient.

Farm with Friends or Join a Community: Farming in groups can make the process more enjoyable and increase your chances of success. By joining forces with other players who share your goal, you can tackle more challenging content and benefit from shared knowledge and resources. Look for in-game communities, Discord servers, or forums dedicated to mount farming.

Make a Schedule: Set aside dedicated time for mount farming, and be consistent with your efforts. By establishing a routine, you can maintain focus and motivation, ensuring that your mount farming doesn’t fall by the wayside. Whether you farm daily, weekly, or monthly, a consistent schedule will help you make steady progress.

Be Patient: Some mounts have low drop rates, so persistence is key. Don’t get discouraged if you don’t get your desired mount right away. Remember that mount farming is often a long-term endeavor, and success may come after multiple attempts. Stay patient and keep a positive attitude, and eventually, you’ll be rewarded with the mounts you’re after.

wow travel mount

Mounts are a much sought-after form of transportation in which players ride atop the backs of exotic beasts, machines, and transit of all kinds in order to move quickly around the world. Mounted travel is always faster than running on foot, and amphibious mounts can increase swim speed when immersed in water. The Burning Crusade introduced flying mounts in select areas, which further increased the maximum possible player movement speed and also increased accessibility to various locations previously unreachable. Cataclysm introduced flying to Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms , which previously lacked it. The Dragonflight expansion introduced Dragonriding , the fastest and most interactive form of mounted traversal ever seen.

Mounts were generally expensive in the past, being one of the largest gold investments an adventurer could make in World of Warcraft . However, they are now accessible to novice players after receiving their first after departing from Exile's Reach . [2] They now are a way to show off achievements, express oneself, and are a type of reward to collect from every kind of in-game content.

Mounts have a 1.5-second cast time, which will be interrupted by taking any damage, moving, or entering combat.

Flying in vanilla

wow travel mount

Player-controlled flight was originally not a part of World of Warcraft , but at BlizzCon 2009 it was revealed that flying mounts would be available in some form to use in Kalimdor and the Eastern Kingdoms with the release of Cataclysm . Blizzard before then had previously stated that it was unlikely that they would allow flying mounts in these continents since doing so would require them to redesign the continents with flying mounts in mind.

The former state of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor was unsuitable for flying mounts; there were visual glitches like mountains and high buildings whose tops could not be seen, and places where the terrain abruptly changed from one tileset to another, creating a grossly unrealistic appearance in some areas. There were also zones which should be there lore-wise but were empty and unfinished.

Since Cataclysm , players can fly all over the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor but there are still various No-fly zones where flight isn't available for various reasons. When attempting to fly toward the Ghostlands, players encounter an invisible wall that stretches from the Forbidding Sea to the Northern Lordaeron area above the Eastern Plaguelands and northeast of the Western Plaguelands .

  • Most mounts have a special emote they can do: this can be invoked while motionless on the ground, either by the /mountspecial slash command for flying mounts or by pressing the Space key for ground-bound mounts.
  • Flying mounts can perform a loop! Press Pitch Up or Pitch Down (normally ⌤ Ins and ⌦ Del ) while in flight to perform a loop - it's also possible to strafe while in a loop. On a Macintosh, the Help key, or the Fn + ⌦ Del combination (on the laptop) will start it.

Patch changes

Shadowlands

  • All mounts now scale to the appropriate riding skill. This means that all 310% speed mounts earned from achievements or were awarded from this patch onward are 280% in order to match the current max riding skill, Artisan. Players who already have a 310% mount are grandfathered into the system.
  • Mounts that are both ground and flying will no longer need to be dismounted and then re-mounted to switch between types. This will now be automatic.

Wrath-Logo-Small.png

  • The cast time for summoning any ground or flying mount is now 1.5 seconds, down from 3 seconds.
  • Flying over Dalaran and Wintergrasp is now possible so long as players keep a healthy distance above the ground.
  • Mounting is now permitted in Ahn'Qiraj .
  • New Vanity Pet and Mount changes: Players will now be able to access their non-combat pets and mounts by clicking on the pets tab in the Character Info panel. These pets and mounts will be now learnable much like spells or abilities. Once a vanity pet or mount is learned, the icon will disappear from within a player's inventory and reappear in the appropriate tab under the pet tab under Character Info. Say goodbye to your vanity pets and mounts taking up bag and bank slots! Lost pets and mounts (one time quest rewards) can be recovered by visiting a stablemaster .
  • Swift Flying Mounts: All the swift flying mounts will now display as epic items, rather than superior-quality items.
  • Using abilities and casting spells that cannot be used while mounted will now auto-dismount players as needed. This can be disabled by turning off the auto-dismount option in the UI options.

WoW Classic – All Mount Trainer Locations

Image of Matthew Fuller

Getting around in WoW Classic can be quite a chore, so getting yourself a mount is always an important and worthwhile endeavor that will help you traverse Azeroth quicker and easier.

Whether you are new to the game or need a little refresher, you might be unsure how to learn this skill or where you can find mounts in the first place. Worry not, because we have all the details on mount trainer locations and some tips on how to get them in this guide.

Related: World of Warcraft: The War Within – Release Date, Preorders, and Trailers

How to Learn to Use Mounts in WoW Classic

All mount trainer locations, restrictions.

WoW_Classic_Mount_Training

Learning to use mounts is pretty straightforward in WoW Classic. To use them, you will need to find a riding trainer who, much like class trainers, will give you the ability to use mounts after learning the skill.

There are two riding skills to learn. The first is at level 40, which lets you ride rare (blue-named) mounts and gives you a 60% movement speed increase. The other is at level 60, which lets you ride epic (purple-named) mounts and gives you a 100% speed increase.

WoW_Classic_Wolf_Mounts

Below, we have listed all the mount trainer locations in WoW Classic so you know where to go when you can finally mount up and ride around Azeroth in style.

Mount Restrictions and Tips

WoW_Classic_Undead_Mounts

Before you go charging off to get your mount, there are a few things to know and a couple of tips we have to help you get your trusty steed quicker that we have included we think you should consider.

The main dilemma with these skills is the cost of learning them and the price of the mounts. Learning the base skill will set you back 20 Gold, while the mount will cost you another 80, making it a 100 Gold investment. As for epic riding, that will set you back 1000 Gold, with the riding cost being 100 Gold, which, naturally, can be tricky for some players.

With that said, we have spoken about gold farming tips before, and we recommend you check out our guide on some ways to earn money so you can get your mount and training sooner rather than later.

Additionally, it is possible to get some discounts on the cost of your mounts . If you have an Honored Reputation with your city, you can get 10% off, and if you have a PvP rank of 11 or above, you can get another 10%, making for 20%. These aren’t required, but they can be nice bonuses to get your mount for cheaper.

Lastly, there are a few restrictions you’ll want to know, starting with what riding you can learn. By default, you can learn your race-specific riding with no issue, so if you play a Troll, you can learn raptor riding. However, if you want to learn another race’s riding skill, you will need to be Exalted with that race , meaning you’ll need to do quests and specific activities for that race to increase your reputation and unlock that specific riding skill.

Related: Best Warcraft Rumble Decks For Each Faction

There are also some racial limitations. In some cases, certain races will not be able to use certain mounts, these being Tauren, who cannot learn to ride Raptors or Undead Horses, and the Humans and Night Elves, who cannot ride the Mechanostriders. This means you cannot learn these riding skills and cannot use these mounts with the mentioned races, even if you are exalted with that race.

However, some natural mounts are exempt from this rule, such as the Deathcharger’s Reins or the Swift Razzashi Raptor, which can be used by any race and often drop from bosses in dungeons or raids.

I am currently trying to make a universal 1 hit button for mounting in any situation, it had been working well until I changed it to also include travel form in case I am running or in combat when I need to mount here is what I have so far

/cast [noflyable] Armored Brown Bear

/cast [flyable] [nomoving] Twilight Drake

/cast [flyable] [moving] [nomounted] Flight Form

/cast [noflyable] [moving] [nomounted] /dismount [mounted]

this works fine if im in a flyable area by mounting the twilight drake if im just standing there, and will put me in flight form if im running or falling, but if im mounted and use this macro to dismount it puts me in flight form instead then i have to hit it again to dismount, which is not a big deal, but if it can be fixed to work better that would be great, biggest issue is to make my travel form work with this macro so i can mount while im running (for whatever reason) or while im in combat since i cant use other mounts while in combat and may need to hurry and get away Thanks in advance to anyone that helps Zaron, Guildmaster of Descendants of Death @ Shattered Halls

Here is the one I use.

It covers all situations. Default is flight form, you can tweak it the way you want it. Be aware that if you targeting a hostile target then you will go to travel form (because of the [nocombat, harm] modifier)

I've been using the GoGoMount addon for quite a while and it works great on all my toons ,but with my druid it only uses druid forms (travel, flight, etc) instead of a mount. I haven't delved into settings to see if that can be changed because I'm fine using forms on my druid. I have it bound to the scroll wheel click on my mouse and it's great to just mount or change forms with one mindless click.

Beeble    0

Beeble

Alright, here's the complicated one that I use.

For me this is bound to the tilde (~) key for me making it easy to hit with modifier keys using only 1 hand. To summarize this macro -Cancels your current form if you are shape-shifted -Casts Flight Form if you are in an area where you can fly and are not in combat, Summons Ground mount if you are in an area where you can mount but cannot fly or if shift is held, Aquatic Form if you are swimming, Travel Form if you hold alt or are in combat If you tank, I would recommend that you add in [nocombat] or some other modifier to the /cancelform so you don't accidentally drop form while tanking.

I would suggest removing the "Swift Flight Form" portion from this part of your macro

#showtooltip Swift Flight Form

What this will do is change the tooltip and icon of your macro (assuming you have the '?' icon) to what ever form or mount it will use, depending on what the macro will do.

Travel Form + Dragonriding + Mount

Hi all, Not sure if anybody has shared this one yet. This macro works great for my druid both in old zones and in Dragonflight. When indoors you’ll switch to cat form, once outside if you can fly you’ll switch flightform. In Dragonflight you’ll get your dragonriding random mount. in combat, you can run away using your shapeshift travelform. When not in combat you can get a random mount from mount journal.

#showtooltip /stopmacro [flying] /run C_MountJournal.SummonByID(0) /run UIErrorsFrame:Clear() /cast [indoors] Cat Form(shapeshift); [Outdoors] Travel Form(shapeshift);

EDIT: Got one for Shaman to let you get into wolf form

#showtooltip /stopmacro [flying] /run C_MountJournal.SummonByID(0) /run UIErrorsFrame:Clear() /cast Ghost Wolf

10.0.7 introduced advflyable so you can just go:

sweeet thanks I’m going to save this now.

All Timewalking mounts in World of Warcraft

Timewalking events in World of Warcraft give players a chance to dive into scaled-up versions from some of the game’s previous expansions and experience their dungeons and raids as if they were current content. For completing those dungeons and raids, players can gain Timewarped Badges , a currency used to buy rewards from vendors who sell specific items related to their corresponding Timewalking expansion.

Among the most coveted Timewalking rewards are expansion-specific mounts . These mounts will only be available to purchase when their respective Timewalking events are active. Timewalking events rotate on an 18-week schedule, meaning you’ll have to wait a few months if you miss the opportunity to buy the mount you’ve had your eyes on and the appropriate event passes you by.

Each of the seven purchasable Timewalking mounts are available to pick up during their corresponding Timewalking event for 5,000 Timewarped Badges . Here are all of the Timewalking mounts currently available in World of Warcraft .

Dragonhawks were new and flashy when The Burning Crusade was released in 2007, and they still have a classic look to them even today. The Eclipse Dragonhawk, which is available for purchase in Shattrath City, is a unique coloration of the old-school Dragonhawk model, which looks exactly the same as it did upon TBC ’s initial release.

It’s not quite Invincible, but this spectral horse mount evokes the spirit of Wrath of the Lich King . Its bright blue skeleton is covered by an iron curtain of armor and chain, while its entire body emits a ghostly glow while it flies. The mount can only be purchased in the Crystalsong Forest version of Dalaran, which can be accessed via portals in either Orgrimmar or Stormwind City , depending on your faction.

The Beastlord’s Irontusk should remind players of the original Armored Irontusk mount from the Warlords of Draenor expansion that it’s based off, but without the iron armor that runs across its back and sides. According to the mount’s lore, the mount belongs to Beastlord Darmac , one of the bosses found in the Blackrock Foundry raid.

Like most other wolf mounts from the Warlords of Draenor era, this mount is fitted with iron armor molded around its brown fur. Three pillars of flame consistently erupt from the wolf’s armor-plated back. The warwolf also belongs to Beastlord Darmac from Blackrock Foundry.

During the original release of Mists of Pandaria, Heavenly Cloud Serpents were available in nearly every color. The only option that wasn’t regularly available to collect was the Heavenly Jade Cloud Serpent. The mount’s model had been in the game, though, serving as the basis for Yu’lon, the Jade Serpent’s character model. Now, the model is available as a mount for 5,000 Timewarped Badges . It can be purchased from Mistweaver Xia on the Timeless Isle.

WoW character flying a mount

The Val’sharah Hippogryph is the iconic mount of the Dreamweavers and is one of the most intricate armored Hippogryph mounts in the game. Hippogryphs were popular mounts during the Legion expansion and this mount in particular perfectly captures the classic mounts that so many players rode during Legion .

It’s not possible to buy this mount with Timewarped Badges like the other Timewalking mounts. Instead, you’ll have to consistently grind out Timewalking dungeons. The Infinite Timereaver only drops off of bosses during Timewalking events. Although the drop rate for the mount is low, it has a chance to drop off any active Timewalking boss.

As of 2023, there are currently 7 Timewalking mounts. These mounts can be purchased for 5,000 Timewarped badges each. You can buy them from the Timewalking vendor in Alaran in Northrend

How To Get The Ochre Dreamtalon Mount In WoW: Dragonflight

Quick links, getting started: the smoldering sprout, a mix of hope, care, and patience.

Within World of Warcraft: Dragonflight , players can explore the newly-added Emerald Dream zone, located just off the western coast of Ohn'ahran Plains. Shadowed by the threat of Fyrakk's corruption looming overhead, you are tasked with protecting Amirdrasill, the young, blossoming World Tree with the help of the loyal Guardians of the Dream.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight - Best Reputations To Grind

This expansive, lush zone offers a variety of new mounts, pets, appearances, and gear to collect. Of these is the Ochre Dreamtalon, a beautiful, autumn-themed Dreamtalon featuring a new, cat-raptor model. While not as simple as an enemy drop, this furry raptor only takes some patience, daily chores, and a green thumb.

Anytime you interact with this NPC, be sure to be dismounted. The quests might not work properly if you are mounted.

To start the quest chain, you must interact with the Smoldering Sprout , a red, budding flower located in the Emerald Dream zone. It can be found at the coordinates 48.6, 67.8, just south of the 'R' in Amirdrassil and to the right of the circular raised mass on the map.

Simply interact with it twice —once to put out the flames and the next to clean it off— to make it the Sprout and offer the first quest, "Some Water..." This will lead you to the nearby NPC, Professor Ash, who you will be reporting to as you complete these quests.

After you finish the first quest, the next will be available in approximately five to six days , and this pattern will repeat with each quest done. The quests will go as follows:

  • "A Dash of Minerals..."
  • "The Right Food..."
  • "A Pinch of Magic"
  • "A Little Hope is Never Without Worth"

"A Dash of Minerals..." will have you collecting five fish bones from Fathomless Lurkers , which are located in the waters just left of the Eye of Ysera flight point. These have about a 22 percent drop chance, so don't expect to get them from every kill. The waters are pretty populated though, so finding enough shouldn't be a problem.

" The Right Food... " involves making a homemade fertilizer for the flower . However, this can be tricky when you don't know where to look. Below is a helpful table to find the right ingredients:

Once you have created the fertilizer, do not place it , as it needs to sit, or 'compost', in your inventory for three days. After the three days have passed, you can go ahead and use it on the Sprout .

"And a Pinch of Magic" simply requires you to go to the highlighted area, drop the given totem, and kill the fire-corrupted Roottenders . These enemies can be found just left of the Ancient Bough on a pointed peninsula. Once there, you should be able to round up a few groups and fill the bar easily.

Finally, after a few more days, Professor Ash will offer " A Little Hope is Never Without Worth ," giving you your Ochre Dreamtalon.

Druid 1 Button Mount/Travel Forms Macro

I had a really nice 1 button mount/fly/travel/aquatic macro I was using but for some reason it didn’t work in Dalaran (wouldn’t identify that I couldn’t fly and give me my ground mount). I found a few scripts online that I combined and got to work, see below:

/script local m=GetZoneText() if (m==“Dalaran”) and (GetSubZoneText()~=“Krasus’ Landing”) then CallCompanion(“MOUNT”, 1);end /cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; [nocombat, harm] Travel Form; [combat] Travel Form; [flyable] Flight Form; Great Gray Kodo

Replace Great Gray Kodo with your ground mount.

This macro will using aquatic form when in water, use travel (cheetah) form while in combat, fly form when you can fly, and ground mount when you can’t fly. It will also identify when you are in Dal and use your ground mount.

Figured I’d share this since it took me forever to figure this out.

This is amazing, thank you.

There’s an addon that does that as well called MountJournal if anyone is interested in that method.

Nice macro! I’m getting LUA error when using it though.

awsome stuff! owl noises i throw in a cat form line too for when youre in a building and wanna kitty sprint on a second button [nooutdoors] Cat Form;

This macro does nothing at all for me, standing in dalaran trying it…

The macro below works perfectly (it is not for mounts) and it works EVERYWHERE except for dalaran main center (the macro does work on krasus landing)

#showtooltip /cancelform [swimming,noform:2][outdoors,noform:2/4/5] /cast [swimming,noform:2] Aquatic Form;[flyable,nocombat,noform:5]swift flight form;[outdoors,noform:2/4/5] Travel Form

I would like this modified to work in dalaran main

I normally have my travel forms on a single button and keep my riding mount on a unique button. Since most script actions are blocked for changing forms, my “hack” for Dalaran is the same as above:

# showtooltip /run if (GetZoneText() == “Dalaran”) and (GetSubZoneText() ~= “Krasus’ Landing”) then CallCompanion(“MOUNT”, 3); end; /use [swimming]Aquatic Form; [flyable, nocombat]Flight Form; [] Travel Form

If you get errors copying-and-pasting, it could be that your operating system is swapping the double quotes (") with fancy operating specific quotes. They look very similar but they break the macro. If all else fails, type the above manually.

Again, this version “usually” requires me to use my ground mount unique from my druid forms but in Dalaran, specifically, I’m injecting the above hack so my travel form button doesn’t error and does “something”.

I installed MountJournal and I do not see a way for it to use Flight Form when possible and ground mount when flight is not allowed, all with one button press. Any tips?

Dalaran (inside the walls) is flagged as a flyable zone even though you cannot fly there. This causes the [noflyable] conditional to fail it’s check. Pretty sure this is a bug specific to classic. I don’t remember it being like this in original. Macro works correctly in the sewers which is correctly flagged as noflyable.

I use a sperate button for mounting. I would prefer to use a script to check for that zone and switch to travel, but the spell casting functions are protected and cannot be used in scripts.

My travel macro is: /dismount [mounted] /cast [swimming] Aquatic Form; [indoors] Dire Bear Form; [flyable,nocombat] Swift Flight Form; [] travel form;

Swimming - Aquatic Inside - Bear Flyable/Out of combat - Bird Default if none of those other conditions are met (in a flyable zone in combat, in a noflyable place like a BG/arena/vanilla zone) - Travel

Correct, old Dalaran was noflyable to prevent flying. In classic they did something different, but it remains “flyable” so macros that should work, don’t. Even though they work perfectly fine everywhere else.

Only have the Storm Chaser achievement left and I’m getting absolutely cucked by the storm rotations. So frustrating 😩 That seems actually an easy part, I miss so much stuff and not worried in the least by the storms, they spawn so often and now 2 at once and it takes 20 mins or so to do each.

They could revamp the achievements screen. Its really bad that we can't navigate throught the requirements with an easy way to go back to the main achievement

Comment by Aesiria

Much easier for a solo player like me than the SL equivalent, so I'm very happy about that :)

Comment by Peacemoon

Its a lot easier this time round now that the achievement is actually listed in game. The Veilstrider one was awful because it was hidden, and so a nightmare to track. On the whole I think achievements like this are great for WoW, as it lets you bring together every aspect of an expansion and helps you feel like yes, you 'completed it'. Also a nice focus on open world content, with only LFR/M0 required for the raid/dungeon stuff, and no PvP. So it is very accessible.

My only gripe is getting the map for the Emerald Gem Cluster. I have farmed for DAYS and looted so many treasures. This map drop rate is insane. I wish they would lower it.

I know most people here are Dragonflight veterans and only up for completing last achievements for the mount, but Imagine a new WoW player getting a fresh sub and seeing this - any guesses how long of a grind it would be? I'm guessing counted in months? To stay on topic - the Forbidden reach maps were the longest grind for me.

I see this achievement as a reward to players who have stuck out through the expansion and engaged with most of the PvE solo content. Not every achievement is meant to be completed by everyone.

Only have the Storm Chaser achievement left and I’m getting absolutely cucked by the storm rotations. So frustrating 😩 Ikr, I'm in the same boat. Thunder and snow in Thaldraszus is all I need. And one or two others that are down to rng like Taking From Nature , A Legendary Album and Tetrachromancer . One of each from those and the daycare which I'm also nearly finished and I'm done. But I'm not sweating on it and no panic. Many players panic but no need, there's still plenty of time. They will come around, just need to be patient.

I cant believe that dont have just an entire crew that just does what other games do. Like videos for abilities, and boss mechanics like league. #$%^ing going back to fix known expansion bugs. So, for the latest content patch we get two main things: 1 - a game mode that has nothing to do with World of Warcraft 2 - an achievement (for tasks that have been in the game for a long while now) I am hoping that the devs don't think patches like this will suffice for the next 9 months. In all the years of WOW, I've never heard of players choosing a faster xpac release in exchange for only half an xpac of content. Why is this happening? Are we only getting a year of content per xpac now? Nothing released since 2024 started has been any real content. It's all systems that should have been released during launch or the first year. Idk about you all, but I'd rather wait 3 years between xpacs and have 2 years of content, instead of 1 year of content and the next xpac coming 2 months earlier.
