One look at the underground rap duo known as Suicideboys (styled $UICIDEBOY$) and you won’t’ be surprised that they’re from New Orleans.
Just check out their whole vibe, from horror movie imagery to deep occult symbolism, and you can easily imagine this act emerging from the dark corners of the Big Easy’s old school voodoo traditions.
Looking at Suicideboys’ full catalog of hundreds of releases over a seven-year period, not to mention their side projects, guest appearances, alter egos, more collaborations and singles, is all it takes to understand the band’s incredible output.
When you ask fans what all the buzz is about, you’ll hear a lot of answers. The dark imagery and stark nature of their lyrics hits home with lots of people struggling with demons. The make-it-happen roots of Suicideboys’ story makes their art feel authentic and uncut compared to flashier pop acts.
Plus, there’s no denying that this pair are serious sonic explorers, and hip hop is far from the only influence on their relentlessly bass-heavy explorations of the depth of the soul. From heavy beats to ethereal atmospherics, these cousins weave soundscapes which captivate the imagination and inspire fans everywhere.
Starting out as family – Scrim (styled $crim) and Ruby da Cherry are cousins – the Suicideboys were always tight on a personal level. Their mutual love for music helped carry them through the development of their careers.
Having to work different jobs as they leveled up their DJing skills, both explored other genres on the way to their hip hop fame. Punk rock played a huge role in Ruby da Cherry’s musical evolution, while Scrim got into some serious singer/songwriter work even as he continued to practice DJing.
Once the pair got going together, they went big. Suicideboys started recording and self-releasing tracks back in 2014 with the EP Kill Yourself Part I: The $uicide $aga, debuting on SoundCloud and Bandcamp. This project blew up bigger than anybody could imagine, with at least nineteen sequel EP’s in the $uicide $aga series to date. But their big underground breakthrough was with 2015’s $outh $ide $uicide,” a collaboration with rapper Pouya.
That EP put Suicideboys on the map, paving the way for more. Their next big collab, Radical $uicide, with EDM superstar producer Getter, climbed into the top 20 on the Billboard rap charts. In 2018, after already releasing dozens of albums worth of tracks, Suicideboys released their first official full-length album I Want to Die in New Orleans. With this one, they broke into the Billboard 200, peaking at number nine while still working under their own record label imprint, G*59.
In 2019, the cousins got serious on the road, embarking on their first nationwide tour. The Grey Day Tour included guests like Trash Talk and Pouya and only increased their following.
After taking a hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, $uicideboy$ broke through in 2021 with a second full length album. Long Term Effects of Suffering was another big hit with their fans, peaking at number seven on the Billboard 200 charts and number two on the Top Rap Albums charts, and number one on the Indie charts. Also in 2021, the duo hit its first certified platinum single with “...And to Those I Love, Thanks for Sticking Around.” A second Grey Day Tour followed in 2021 with fellow artists from their G*59 label.
Now fully back up and running, $uicideboy$ resumed its relentless output. In 2022, they released their third full length record, Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation which debuted at the top of the Billboard Rap charts. This album had more hints of positivity than the band’s previous work, possibly signaling another evolution in the duo’s career.
In 2022, $uicideboy$ was one of the featured headliners at the Quebec City Summer Festival alongside heavyweights like Alanis Morissette, Maroon 5, and Luke Combs. High profile stints like this prove they’ve come a long way from the underground scene.
Live reviews
When $uicide Boy$ came to the Historic El Rey Theater in Albuquerque, New Mexico, no one was ready for it unless they of course went to their last show at the Launchpad in Albuquerque, New Mexico "South Side Suicide". Show was so good people left and right were literally passing out and when it was over people were so satisfied and so worn out, they didn't ask for an encore. This was also a rare opportunity because whenever any good rap/hip hop artist come out here (excluding Wiz Khalifa, Snoop Dogg, ASAP Rocky, any other trash artist) they usually go to the Sunshine Theater (Albuquerque, New Mexico) or Launchpad (Albuquerque, New Mexico) and The Historic El Rey Theater is the largest indoor theater that ABQ has to offer and the owner is strict to only allow EDM type music to perform. The Historic El Rey Theater should allow more good rap/hip hop artist to perform there. $uicide Boy$ will always be good. Only thing to complain about them? The fact that we had to wait an hour and a half PAST opening time for them to start the show not including the extra thirty minutes for opener to start.

If they come back to the hollywood palladium im immediately buying vip ticket again and doing bottle service/cocktail service in vip again, cause it was perfect!
$uicideBoy$ killed it played every song i hoped to hear gave me the goosebumps. Shakewell was big don juan bossin out killed it as well. They really see the crowd i liked that noticing a fan who frequents the show some real shit. Dont hate on vip althogh no mosh we turnin up with woods and scripts and bottles man they made that place jump I know all the lyrics so turnt up hard, Too much for respect ruby, skrim, shakewell, and all the other homies like pouya and hype man “meth!” plus ghostemane
Them live was by far better than expected! Now all i gotta say is g59 until the grave.
The venue was easy to find with great facilities. The show itself I was very excited for and expecting held up. The speakers and lights created an awesome environment.
Some more detailed information could have been provided on webpages prior to concert rather than finding out on the day about who the pre acts would be. The information I read said that “DJ Meth” would start his performance at 8:30 and he didn’t start until 8:45 which was disappointing.
I haven't been to a lot of concerts (3 including $uicideboy$) and they hands down are my favorite. I saw them on tour with Ski Mask The Slump God and $not. Their love for their fans is indescribable and the whole vibe they had at the show was amazing. They played new songs, old songs, and even niche ones. I can't wait to see them live again. I 100% recommend any fan to see them live no matter how many songs you know.
$uicideboy$ always has the greatest shows, and this one was no exception. They are high energy and overall amazing. The vocals from the two are unmatched, and they are the BEST artists that I have ever heard. It was through one of their concerts that I became a die-hard fan, and continuing to go to their concerts is one of the greatest experiences one could ask for.
Best concert I've been to so far! Definitely going to see them again when they come back to Canada! The mosh pit was so insane that a bunch of seats got broken, the crowd was great always picked you up immediately if you fell down, and of course seeing Scrim, Ruby, and CrystalMeth was fucking amazing!!!
The concert was absolutely amazing!
I had so much fun at the concert and the atmosphere was insane.
Being a huge fan of Suicideboys i had to get the tickets as soon as they released and they were so good live.
If they ever return to England I’ll certai be going to watch it!
Concert was awesome. People were already trying to mosh to the funk music playing in the background. Only thing is it took forever for the actual show to start... guess that’s what happens when the fan base is full of 16 year old hypebeasts. That said, it was worth it.
One of the best if not the best Concert I've ever been to. Basically 2 hours of constant moshpits and the best songs in their discography all in a Sold Out Show. Ruby and Scrim looked like they had a lot of fun and interacted with the crowd in a lot of ways
First concert I ever been too.... but I don’t think anyone could ever beat it. It was the most amazing experience and They were amazing live, I will deffinetly see them again. I love the suicideboys and what they did for little peep was heart warming.

ABOUT $UICIDEBOY$:
$uicideboy$ draws light from the deepest corners of darkness, addiction, hopelessness, and pain. The New Orleans-bred duo of cousins—Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petrou a.k.a. Ruby da Cherry—translate a fight against demons into a clever, caustic, and corrosively catchy apocalyptic vision of hip-hop pierced with punk intensity and laced with Southern flows.
The world was first introduced to $uicideboy$ in 2014. Since then, as trailblazers of trap-metal and punk-rap, they have amassed over 24 billion collective streams, securing their position among the Top 100 Most Streamed Artists Of All Time. Their numerous projects have earned multiple RIAA certifications and debuts among the Top 10 of the Billboard 200. Some accomplishments include the platinum-certified “…And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around” and gold-certified tracks such as “Carrollton,” “2nd Hand,” “Runnin’ Thru The 7th With My Woadies,” “Paris,” and “Kill Yourself (Part III).”
Moreover, their annual Grey Day Tour, which started in 2019, has emerged as a standout and one of the largest summer tours, uniting rap and hardcore genres, playing in arenas and amphitheaters worldwide. According to Billboard Magazine, this tour has landed $uicideboy$ in the Top 20 rankings of highest-grossing hip-hop touring acts of all time.
In addition to accolades from Billboard, XXL, Revolver, Alternative Press, Complex, and others, they have established their label G*59 Record$ as a hub for independent talent, boasting artists like Night Lovell, Germ, Shakewell, Ramirez, and more. In 2024, they will unveil their latest full-length album, New World Depression , and launch another global Grey Day Tour.

Since its inception in 2019, the Grey Day Tour has emerged as a standout and one of the "absolute coolest" summer tours, uniting rap and hardcore genres, while also serving as a launching pad for the first national tours for many critically acclaimed artists as well as showcasing artists from their independent label G59 Records. According to Billboard , the Grey Day Tour has propelled the $uicideboy$ into the Top 20 rankings of highest-grossing hip-hop touring acts of all time.
Coinciding with the tour announcement, the group has revealed the lead track “Us Vs Them” from their eagerly awaited next full-length album, titled New World Depression , set to release on Friday, June 14. On "Us Vs Them," $uicideboy$ delve into facing tough challenges and feeling disconnected from society. Ruby da Cherry and $crim deliver verses about coping with personal struggles and maintaining one's identity in a challenging world. The single has already been featured on official Spotify playlists, including New Music Friday U.S. and landing the cover Tirade and Alternative Hip-Hop. Stream the single HERE .
Throughout New World Depression , the duo navigates themes of fame, self-destruction and the relentless search for identity amidst chaos. Across the 13-track release, their raw, unfiltered lyrics serve as a gritty narrative of personal turmoil, substance abuse and the struggle for authenticity in a world that often feels cold and indifferent. This album is an unapologetic exploration of the darker sides of human experience, resonating with anyone who has ever felt out of place or battled with their own shadows. The album will commemorate the 10th anniversary since the formation of $uicideboy$. Presave the album HERE .
Since forming a decade ago in 2014, $uicideboy$ have prolifically shared their distinctive fusion of rap, punk and trap with audiences worldwide. Starting out as pioneers of the SoundCloud Rap movement, they have gone on to deliver a tremendous amount of music and have achieved over 20 billion all-time streams, placing them in the Top 100 streaming artists of all time. In 2023, they were one of Spotify’s Top Groups of 2023 and one of SoundCloud’s Top 5 Most Streamed Artists .
ABOUT $UICIDEBOY$:
$uicideboy$ draws light from the deepest corners of darkness, addiction, hopelessness and pain. The New Orleans-bred duo of cousins—Scott Arcenaux, Jr. a.k.a. $crim and Aristos Petrou a.k.a. Ruby da Cherry—translate a fight against demons into a clever, caustic and corrosively catchy apocalyptic vision of hip-hop pierced with punk intensity and laced with Southern flows.
Some accomplishments include the platinum-certified “…And To Those I Love, Thanks For Sticking Around” and gold-certified tracks such as “Carrollton,” “2nd Hand,” “Runnin’ Thru The 7th With My Woadies,” “Paris” and “Kill Yourself (Part III).”
In addition to accolades from Billboard, XXL, Revolver, Alternative Press, Complex and others, they have established their label G*59 Record$ as a hub for independent talent, boasting artists like Night Lovell, Germ, Shakewell, Ramirez and more. In 2024, they will unveil their latest full-length album, New World Depression , and launch another global Grey Day Tour.

$uicideboy$ is comprised of cousins $crim (real name Scott Arceneaux Jr.) and Ruby da Cherry (real name Aristos Petrou), who hail from Marrero and Metairie, La., in the New Orleans metropolitan area, respectively. The duo grew its following on SoundCloud after first posting recordings on the streaming service in 2014. The $uicideboy$ name allegedly stems from a suicide pact , where if their joint musical venture didn’t work out, there would be nothing left to live for.
The pair has hit Billboard ’s charts for nearly a decade, including six charted albums on the Billboard 200 . Here’s a recap:
- I Want to Die in New Orleans , No. 9 peak, 2018
- Stop Staring at the Shadows , No. 30, 2020
- Long Term Effects of Suffering , No. 7, 2021
- Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation , No. 7, 2022
- DirtiestNastiest$uicide , with Germ, No. 54, 2022
- Shameless $uicide (EP), with Shakewell, No. 50, 2023
Sing Me a Lullaby, My Sweet Temptation hit No. 1 on the Top Rap Albums chart in 2022, earning the duo its first leader on a multimetric Billboard chart. The twosome has also released numerous EPs and mixtapes since 2014.
The duo launched its own independent label collective , G*59 Records, in 2017, and have been distributed by The Orchard since 2020. The label also features Chetta, Germ, Nightlovell, Rvimrxz and Shakewell on its roster.
“When we first started, we wanted to do the exact opposite of what everybody in rap was doing,” Ruby da Cherry told Billboard in 2021 . “We didn’t have nice cars or gold chains, so we just flexed that we were losers, and mixed in some shock-rap and stuff about our mental health issues. We’re just trying to catch people’s attention.”

Bernhard Langer determined to ease back into it on PGA TOUR Champions
Will take cart for foreseeable future, and miss u.s. open at pinehurst.
Change Text Size
Bernhard Langer, 66, will make his PGA TOUR Champions return at this week’s Insperity Invitational presented by United Healthcare at The Woodlands in Houston, a week in which he will also commence a new endorsement deal with Sketchers.
Oh, and he’ll also be wearing a size 10 shoe on his right foot and a size 10 1/2 on his left.
That’s not a new anti-aging secret, although Langer has done so much, so late in his career, he could probably sell it as one. The mismatched shoes are because the 46-time PGA TOUR Champions winner is playing just three months after he tore his left Achilles tendon, and he still has so much swelling and discomfort on his left side that he needed to go a half-size up.
Bernhard Langer returns from Achilles injury at Insperity Invitational
“My biggest issue now is I can’t walk properly because I can’t flex my foot,” he told PGATOUR.COM in a phone interview Wednesday. “I can’t bend my leg the way I need to because it puts too much stress on the Achilles. I can’t walk, can’t run, can’t jump.
“What I feel is mostly the swelling in my foot, discomfort all day long, but I was told that was to be expected for another four to eight months.”
The good news was that advances in medicine allowed for a fast recovery.
“The way they operate now is totally different than what they did several years ago,” Langer said. “They have something called a speed bridge where they put two anchors into your heel and they explained to me it’s almost like two rubber bands running up your Achilles, which they attach to the calf muscle to provide secondary protection for the torn Achilles, which is stitched together.
“And they do PRP, when they spin your blood,” he continued, “and they take some of that and put it in there when the wound is open, they wrap something around the wound with some of your own blood, to speed up the healing process.”
Suddenly housebound, Langer watched a lot of Netflix, plus soccer and golf on TV. He played with his four grandkids, who are all under the age of 4.
“There’s nothing better,” he said.
He spent more than a month wearing a boot but shed it in late March when he was able to stand on his own. Shortly after that he was cleared to begin working out and hitting balls.
New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who underwent the same Achilles surgery last September, was throwing a football within three months, providing Langer a roadmap. He said it got him wondering if he could do something similar, lifting his spirits.
“The key is the speed bridge because that allows you to exercise immediately after surgery,” Langer said. “In the old days, you’d be in a cast for two months and immediately lose all your muscle strength. Your calf would go from, say, 15 inches to about 6 inches in diameter, and that makes a big difference. It takes a long time to come back from that.
“I’ve had extensive rehab, I did hyperbaric chambers, and I’ve been in the fitness center every day working out other parts of my party, and starting a couple months ago, my torn Achilles.”
Langer said he’ll play a full schedule on PGA TOUR Champions, where he can take a cart. Although he would have been eligible to play the U.S. Open at Pinehurst next month – he won the U.S. Senior Open last year – he has opted out of that tournament, where he’d have to walk. He also anticipated not being able to hold the greens with his hybrid approach shots.
He anticipates needing some accommodation and said he will petition to use a cart for the three tournaments on his schedule that do not typically allow them: the KitchenAid Senior PGA Championship, U.S. Senior Open, and The Senior Open Championship presented by Rolex.
He hasn’t played since a T22 at the Mitsubishi Electric Championship at Hualalai in January.
Asked if he would ever play pickleball again, Langer laughed.
“Maybe at some point,” he said with a chuckle. “But not the next year or so, that’s for sure.”

The North American tour will kick off in Nashville, Tennesee, on August 7th, and run all the way into the October, closing things out at Lincoln, Nebraska's Pinnacle Bank Arena. Denzel Curry will be there for most of the trip, save a show in Tampa and a string of dates in the Pacific Northwest.
