For some Filipinos, taking a cruise ship to go to a local destination is still not one of the top options. The old images in people’s minds is that of cramped ship spaces and dirty quarters, which can be enough deterrent. This will soon be changed with premier land/sea trip provider 2GO Travel which has been upping domestic travel by providing passengers with world-class and cruise-like experiences on board.

Armed with the vision to promote local destinations, 2GO Travel is launching the 16,622-ton and 160-meter long M/V St. Therese of the Child Jesus, in time for the peak travel season to serve the ports of Manila, Bacolod, Iloilo, and Cagayan de Oro.

Going aboard the massive cruise ship brings you to a wide lobby with personnel ready to assist you for boarding. With a capacity of 1,856 passengers and 200 20-foot equivalent units (TEU) of cargo, it addresses the demand for an alternative means for people who want to go home to their provinces and tourists who want to go around the Philippines in an affordable, safe and convenient way.

“It has always been 2GO’s mission to promote local tourism and to introduce both Filipino and foreign tourists to the many beautiful and interesting destinations all over the country. At the same time, we wanted to raise the bar in domestic travel by providing passengers not just safety and convenience but a most leisurely, cruise-like experience aboard our vessels,” says 2GO’s senior vice president Stephen Tagud.

M/V St. Therese of the Child Jesus is ready to treat any passenger to a relaxing journey to his destination with the elegantly designed six suite rooms, 12 state rooms, 21 business class and 34 tourist accommodations. First time cruise ship travelers would be surprised at the many amenities the ship has to offer. Just like the rest of 2GO’s fleet, the vessel also has a first-class bar and restaurant, a 24-hour convenience store and gift shop, a spa and salon, areas for karaoke, comedy acts and other forms of entertainment held nightly. It also houses a clinic and a chapel. And for passengers who want to see the views on the open sea or stargaze at night, an open-air deck is available.

The addition of this new vessel also addresses the demand for cargo space to transport goods and produce across Luzon, Visayas and Mindanao. The M/V St. Therese of the Child Jesus serves the Manila-Bacolod-Iloilo-Cagayan de Oro route every Thursday at 9:00 p.m.

Those booking via 2GO Travel can also enjoy a wide range of hotel accommodations, tours, event packages and entertainment options. The company has 1,200 outlets nationwide, catering to various ports across the country so it’s very convenient for anyone across the Philippines.

2GO MANILA to CEBU – Ferry Schedules & Fares

2go travel st therese of child jesus accommodation

Despite the push and pull with Iloilo over the crown of “Queen City of the South,” it’s really no question why Cebu is a top pick for visitors to the Philippines. With sun-soaked coastlines, deep connections with our Hispanic past, and streets bursting with grub, you’ll find yourself enchanted by this province at the heart of the archipelago.

Among the more prosperous capital cities in the country, Cebu City serves as a jump-off point for a myriad of tourist attractions located across the province. For thrill-seekers, make your way to Kawasan Falls in Badian for some canyoneering in the multi-tiered falls. Meanwhile, for beach lovers, let the gorgeous white shores and clear waters of Malapascua and Bantayan Island court you.

WHAT'S IN THIS GUIDE?

Getting to Cebu from Manila

If you’re coming from Manila, advice will usually lead you to booking plane tickets bound for Cebu. However, if you want to experience a different way to travel or have more time, Cebu is also accessible from Manila by sea. 2Go Travel regularly sails from Manila to Cebu and vice versa. Compared to booking a flight, 2Go has cheaper year-round fares and comes with a baggage allowance of – here’s the kicker – 50kg.

If we’ve piqued your interest, you’ll want to check out this post on 2GO Manila to Cebu fares & schedules. We’re throwing in a few tips as well so read ’til the end!

Sailing Schedule

2Go Travel uses two different vessels for the Manila to Cebu route: St. Therese of Child Jesus and MV 2GO Masagana , which is a bigger and more modern ship. The schedule indicated below is based on 2Go Travel’s April 2024 sailing schedule.

Note that these schedules may change, so it’s best to check the updated schedule for your intended travel date. You can visit 2Go’s website to see updates on their sailing schedule.

Manila to Cebu

  • Monday Sailing Departure (Manila): Monday, 7:30 AM Arrival (Cebu): Tuesday, 4:00 PM
  • Wednesday Sailing Departure (Manila): Wednesday, 7:00 PM Arrival (Cebu): Thursday, 5:00 PM
  • Thursday Sailing Departure (Manila): Thursday, 11:30 PM Arrival (Cebu): Saturday, 12:00 AM
  • Sunday Sailing Departure (Manila): Sunday, 7:00 AM Arrival (Cebu): Monday, 5:00 AM

Cebu to Manila

  • Friday Sailing Departure (Cebu): Friday, 10:00 PM Arrival (Manila): Saturday, 8:00 PM
  • Saturday Sailing Departure (Cebu): Saturday, 4:30 AM Arrival (Manila): Sunday, 11:30 PM

How much are the Manila-Cebu tickets?

2GO Travel observes dynamic ticket pricing so ticket prices vary based on different factors including how close you book a ticket to your travel date. Tickets are also priced according to the accommodation type you choose, which may differ on the vessel.

To give you insight on ticket prices, here’s the sample rates from their website for a sailing booked one month in advance.

MV 2GO Maligaya

  • Mega Value Class: P837.13
  • Tourist Class Premium: P1194.28

St. Therese of Child Jesus

St. Therese of Child Jesus Manila to Cebu Ticket Prices

Tickets are priced per bed for all room types except for STATE and SUITE rooms, which are priced per room. All tickets are inclusive of linens and meals on board. However, note that the prices indicated above are merely gross fare and are still subject to taxes and fees.

How to book 2GO Travel tickets?

There are multiple ways to book a ticket for your trip. First, go to a 2GO branch near you. You can also book tickets at SM Business Centers , which are located in SM Malls.

Your second option is to download the 2Go App on your mobile device and book a ticket from there. Another way to book a ticket online is by going to 2GO Travel’s website . Payment options for online bookings include credit/debit card, GCash, Maya, GrabPay, and more through paynamics. You can also choose to pay over-the-counter at SM Bills Payment Center, 7Eleven, Cebuana Lhuiller, M Lhuiller, and other accredited stores indicated on their website.

But before you’re able to use the app, you’ll need internet connection. Safe, secure, and reliable free WiFi is sparse in the Philippines, so it’s best to have your own private connection. If you are a foreign tourist exploring the Philippines, you can either purchase a local SIM card or rent a pocket WiFi unit to help with this. SIM cards and pocket WiFi devices are available at the airport.

How long is the travel time?

The journey from Manila to Cebu takes 21 hours or more depending on the sailing date4. I know, I know. It’s a far cry from your 1.5-hour travel time should you choose to board a plane instead. This option really isn’t for travelers with tight schedules, but if you’re feeling generous with your time, 21 hours may not seem like much. Note that for Cebu to Manila schedules, one sailing schedule takes much longer since the vessel also makes a stop in Butuan City in Agusan del Norte before heading to Manila.

How to Get to Manila Port?

2Go’s passenger terminal is located at Pier 4, North Harbour in Manila City.

By Taxi or Grab

Taking a taxi or booking through a ride-hailing app like Grab or Joyride is the easiest way to reach the port. Just put North Harbour Pier 4 Zaragosa Gate as your drop off location. This is the passenger gate of the port.

By Public Transportation

  • Make your way to LRT 1 Carriedo Station or LRT 2 Recto Station.
  • Ride a jeepney going to North Harbour and get off near Jollibee North Harbour.
  • Walk or ride a tricycle to Pier 4 Zaragosa Gate.

If you’re coming from the airport, you may also check our NAIA to Manila transport guide to help you get to the port.

Accommodation guide: Moscow Station and Old Nevsky

The area around Moscow Railway Station is bustling and lively round-the-clock, as is typical near any major railway hub. It is not, however, particularly dangerous or insalubrious, with the possible exception of Ulitsa Goncharnaya, the narrow side street running straight past the station which carries the brunt of the eastbound traffic out of the city centre, and of the flow of downtrodden drunks spilling off suburban trains. In fact, "Old" Nevsky, the stretch of Nevsky Prospekt t that lies between Ploshchad Vosstaniya and the Alexander Nevsky Monastery to the east, has gone through a remarkable transformation in the last decade, from being probably best-known as St. Petersburg's red-light district to now being lined with the city's most up-market boutiques.

In terms of accommodation, the area can offer a huge choice of hotels, hostels and vacation apartments. Apart from being convenient for train travel, the area boasts uniformly excellent transport links, and can also offer a very wide variety of dining and shopping opportunities day and night. While the area is not going to be anyone's first choice for atmosphere or architectural elegance (Ligovsky Prospekt, in particular, is a singularly charmless and characterless thoroughfare), it does offer exceptional convenience and choice of good-value accommodation. Also, if noise is your prime concern, the far eastern part of the neighborhood around Ploschad Aleksandra Nevkogo is surprisingly tranquil at night.

Community of Saint Francis (Slaves of Jesus Christ Crucified

Share our page.

Welcome to the Community of Saint Francis (SJCC) We are Orthodox Roman Catholics. When I say Orthodox, I am speaking about Tradition. When I say Roman, I am speaking about the Western Rite. In Orthodoxy we have two sources of the faith, Divine Revelation written down and the unwritten tradition coming right out of the Divine mouth of Our Lord, having been heard by the Apostles until the last Apostle died. This is the definition of tradition. As a Priest I am obligated to defend, with my very life, both of these sources. If I did not do as such I should receive the punishment of a murderer. We are not Anglican, Old Catholic, Old Roman Catholic, Greek Catholic, Russian Orthodox, Jacobite-Antiochian, Syrian-Antiochian etc. However, we do share many of these lines. Both Fr. Plato and myself were ordained by Bishop Thomas J. Rohde who was consecrated by Bishop Jacques Alwin Daniel Jones. From what I understand Bishop Jones was consecrated by Bishop Lawrence A. Carter and Bishop Thomas Sargent. Bishop Sargent was consecrated by Martin Paul Bausum Ballard, Mikhael Francis Augustine Itkin and Donald Lee West. I have no knowledge of Lawrence A. Carter nor do I have any knowledge of Donald Lee West. On October 9, 1999 I was ordained by Bishop Thomas J. Rohde who was at that time the Vicar General to the Oblates of St. Therese Reformed. The Oblates of St. Therese was founded by Msgr. Andrew Wingate. Bishop Rohde joined the Sacred Society of the Oblates of St. Therese of the Holy Child Jesus Reformed in 1991. The Patriarch of the Russian Orthodox Catholic Church in the Americas was at that time the Abbot Vicar General and guardian of the Oblates. +Rohde studied under their patronage and was ordained Priest on June 4, 1994. The Oblates of St. Therese are multi-ritual by Constitution; they may celebrate liturgies from both Eastern and Western Rites. In 1996 the Patriarch resigned from his position as Abbot and the Oblates requested the Most Rev. Bishop Jacque Jones, TOR to fill that position and he agreed. It was at that time that Rohde asked for excardination from the Russian Orthodox Church and incardination under Bishop Jones of the Old Roman Catholic Church. While in Rome, Msgr. Wingate and Bishop Jones, +Rohde was conditionally ordained into the Old Roman Catholic lineage at Our Lady of Mercy Chapel, St. Peters Basilica, Vatican City, on March 1, 1997. Because of his age and any chance of being incapacitated, Bishop Jones asked +Rohde to be consecrated bishop to succeed him as Abbot so the Oblates would not be left without a bishop. This took place on February 27, 1998, in the Church of St. Augustine, in Los Angeles, CA. +Rohde then accepted the position of Vicar General of the Oblates of St. Therese. Some time after +Rohde left the Oblates and Bishop Joseph Vellone became the new Vicar General. On May 2, 2004 I was subconditione (redone or reordained) by Bishop William, Community of St. Francis. Bishop William was elevated to the Episcopacy by Archbishop John Parnell, The Most Reverend Walter Gerth, and The Most Reverend Michael W. Pease. During the con-celebration of the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, Bishop William was (subconditione) consecrated by Bishop Juan Tapia and Bishop Russell McClanahan. It was shortly after that I was conditionally ordained. In 2005 I was elevated Chor Bishop by Arch Bishop William J. Farley Latin Rite and Bishop Iswaria Abraham Eastern Rite. Bishop William passed from this life in October of 2006. Prior to his passing, in the presence of Rev. Hudson I was appointed bishop elect. We have no interest in forming an open dialogue with any Church, organization, society etc. that does not defend the teachings of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. We can not, in good conscience, be involved with any Church that does not defend Orthodoxy. Most of these so called clergy are nothing more than heretics, apostates and schismatic. A Church that accepts homosexual acts, lesbianism, abortion (murder), women priests, freemasonry, Gnosticism, neo-monatism or any other heresy is not something we wish to align ourselves with. All of these heresies, among others, have already been condemned. There are numerous heresies which have all been condemned. Among them are, Adoptionism Albigenses Antinomianism Apollinarianism Arianism Audianism Bogomils Catharism Circumcisers Docetism Donatism Ebionite Encratite Euchites Eutychianism Gallicanism Gnosticism Iconoclasm Jansenism Judiazers Kenosis Lollard/Lollardism Luciferians Mandaeism Manichaeism Marcionism Modalism Monarchianism Monophysitism Monothelitism Montanism Neo-Platonism Nestorianism Ophites Origenism Patripassianism Pelagianism Protestanism Sabellianism Semi-Pelgianism Socianianism (Psilanthropism) Tritheism Universalism Waldensians. These evils have resurfaced from the fires of hell once again to destroy the One, Holy, Catholic and Apostolic Church. We are not a fundamental, ultra-conservative Church. We are a multi-ritual Church which embraces Apostolical and ecclesiastical traditions. We observe the constitution of the Church prior to the Second Vatican Council. Keeping in mind that (Canons) or Articles of Constitution may be amended or changed, we accept The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass (Divine Liturg) may be offered in the vernacular. Also that, married men may be ordained to the Order of Deacon, Order of Priest, and consecrated bishops of the Church. The Community of Saint Francis Belief: We believe: 1. There are two sources of the faith, Divine Revelation written down and the unwritten tradition coming right out of the Divine mouth of Our Lord, having been heard by all of the Apostles until the last Apostle died. 2. We profess the Nicene Creed, professed at the Council of Nicaea on 19 June 325 AD by the 318 Fathers, is the Creed of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. 3. There are 20 Ecumenical Councils of the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church. ( The Second Vatican Council was pastoral and not a Dogmatic Council) 4. The seven sacraments of the New Law were instituted by our Lord Jesus Christ, namely, baptism, confirmation, Eucharist, penance, extreme unction, order and matrimony. 5. The sacrament of Holy Baptism is the first, for it is by this sacrament that we are united to Christ and His Church. 6. In the sacrament of Confirmation those who are already baptized receive the Holy Ghost, in order to make them strong and perfect Christians, through the imposition of hands and by the seal of Chrism. 7. In the sacrament of the most Holy Eucharist are contained truly, really and substantially the body and blood together with the soul and divinity of our Lord Jesus Christ, and consequently the whole Christ. 8. In the One, Holy, Catholic, and Apostolic Church penance is truly and properly a sacrament instituted by Jesus Christ, the Lord, for reconciling the faithful of God as often as they fall into sin after baptism. 9. In the New Law there is a visible and external priesthood. In this priesthood comes the power of consecrating and offering the true body and blood of the Lord, of forgiving and retaining sins; as well as the preaching and teaching of the Gospel. 10. The Holy Sacrament of Matrimony is truly and properly one of the seven sacraments of the evangelical law, instituted by Christ the Lord. The Holy Sacrament of Matrimony is the conjugal union of man and woman, contracted between two qualified persons, which obliges them to live together throughout life. 11. The Holy Sacrament of Extreme Unction, is truly and properly a sacrament instituted by Christ our Lord and announced by the blessed Apostle James. Through this holy anointing, grace is conferred and all sins are remitted. 12. The pious use of Sacramentals is encouraged. A sacramental is a sacred sign by which spiritual effects especially are signified and are obtained by the intercession of the Church. Sacramentals do not confer the grace of the Holy Spirit in the way that the sacraments do. Slaves of Jesus Christ Crucified: As slaves of Jesus Christ Crucified, we practice "True Devotion to the Blessed Virgin" following the writtings of Saint Louis de Montfort we offer our prayer to Jesus through Mary. It is through the Mother of God "that souls who are to shine forth in sanctity, must find him." As slaves of Jesus Christ and servants to mankind we, "will be true apostles of the latter times to whom the Lord of Hosts will give eloquence and strength to work wonders"

Rule of Saint Francis

I. In the name of the Lord, the life of the lesser brothers begins. The rule and life of the lesser brothers is this: To observe the holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ, living in obedience without anything of our own, and in chastity. Brother Francis promises obedience and reverence to the Lord Pope Honorius and his canonically elected successors, and to the Roman Church; and the rest of the brothers are obliged to obey Francis and his successors. II. Concerning those who wish to adopt this life. If someone should wish to adopt this life and should come to our brothers, they must send them to their provincial ministers to whom alone is granted the right to receive brothers. The ministers should examine them carefully regarding the Catholic faith and sacraments of the church. If they believe all these things, wishing to confess them faithfully and observe them diligently until the end; and if they have no wives, or their wives have entered a convent, or permission has been given to them by authority of their bishop, a vow of chastity having been taken and their wives being of such an age as to avoid suspicion; then let them go, sell all they have, and attempt to give it to the poor. If they cannot do so, their good intention will suffice. Let the brothers and their ministers beware of becoming concerned about the new brothers' temporal possessions, for they should freely dispose of their belongings as God inspires them. If they ask advice, the ministers may refer them to some God-fearing brothers through whose counsel their possessions may be distributed to the poor. Later, let them concede clothing of probation to the new brothers: Two tunics with hoods, belt and trousers, and a chaperon reaching down to the belt, unless the minister decides according to God that something else should be done. When the year of probation is over, let them be received into obedience, promising to observe this life and rule always; and, according to the command of the lord pope, it will be absolutely forbidden to them to leave the order, for according the holy gospel "no one who puts his hand to the plow and then looks back is fit for the kingdom of God." And let those who have promised obedience take one tunic with a hood, and let those who wish it have another without a hood. And those who must may wear shoes. All the brothers are to wear inexpensive clothing, and they can use sackcloth and other material to mend it with God's blessing. III. Concerning the divine office and fasting; and how the brothers ought to travel through the world. Clerics are to perform the divine office according to the rite of the Roman Church, except for the Psalter, and they can have breviaries for that purpose. Laymen are to say twenty-four "Our Fathers" at matins; five at lauds; seven each at prime, terce, sext and none; twelve at vespers; and seven at compline. They should also pray for the dead. They should fast from the feast of all saints until Christmas. Those who voluntarily fast at Quadragessima, those forty days after Epiphany which the Lord consecrated with his own holy fasting, will themselves be blessed by the Lord; yet they are not required to do so if they do not want to. They must fast during Lent, but they are not required to do so at other times except on Fridays. In case of obvious necessity, however, they are excused from bodily fasting. I counsel, admonish and beg my brothers that, when they travel about the world, they should not be quarrelsome, dispute with words, or criticize others, but rather should be gentle, peaceful and unassuming, courteous and humble, speaking respectfully to all as is fitting. They must not ride on horseback unless forced to so by obvious necessity or illness. Whatever house they enter, they are first to say, "Peace to this house" (Lk. 10:5). According to the holy gospel they can eat whatever food is set before them. IV. That the brothers should not accept money. I strictly forbid the brothers to receive money in any form either directly or through an intermediary. Nevertheless, the ministers and custodians can work through spiritual friends to care for the sick and clothe the brothers, according to place, season and climate, as necessity may seem to demand. This must be done, however, in such a way that they do not receive money. V. On their manner of working. Those brothers whom the Lord favors with the gift of working should do so faithfully and devotedly, so that idleness, the enemy of the soul, is excluded yet the spirit of holy prayer and devotion, which all other temporal things should serve, is not extinguished. As payment for their labor let them receive that which is necessary for themselves and their brothers, but not money. Let them receive it humbly as befits those who serve God and seek after the holiest poverty. VI. That the brothers should appropriate nothing for themselves; and on how alms should be begged; and concerning sick brothers. The brothers should appropriate neither house, nor place, nor anything for themselves; and they should go confidently after alms, serving God in poverty and humility, as pilgrims and strangers in this world. Nor should they feel ashamed, for God made himself poor in this world for us. This is that peak of the highest poverty which has made you, my dearest brothers, heirs and kings of the kingdom of heaven, poor in things but rich in virtues. Let this be your portion. It leads into the land of the living and, adhering totally to it, for the sake of our Lord Jesus Christ wish never to have anything else in this world, beloved brothers. And wherever brothers meet one another, let them act like members of a common family. And let them securely make their needs known to one another, for if a mother loves and cares for her carnal son, how much more should one love and care for his spiritual son? And if one of them should become ill, let the other brothers serve him as they themselves would like to be served. VII. On the penances to be imposed on sinning brothers. If any of the brothers should sin mortally at the instigation of the enemy, they should recur to their provincial ministers without delay if the sin is one of those for which such recourse is required. The ministers, if they are priests, should mercifully prescribe a penance for them. If they are not priests, they should see that it is prescribed by others in the order who are such, as seems best to them according to God. They should be careful not to become angry and upset over someone's sin, for anger and perturbation in oneself or others impedes love. VIII. On the election of the general minister of this brotherhood; and on the chapter at Pentecost. The brothers are always bound to have a brother of the order as general minister and servant of the entire brotherhood, and they are strictly bound to obey him. When he dies, his successor is to be elected by the provincial ministers and custodians during the Pentecost chapter, at which provincial ministers are always to assemble in the place designated by the minister general. The general chapter should meet every three years, or sooner or later if the minister general should so ordain. If at some point it should appear to the provincial ministers and custodians that the minister general is incapable of serving the brothers properly, the aforesaid brothers to whom election is entrusted should, in the name of God, choose someone else. After the Pentecost chapter, the ministers and custodians may call their brothers to a chapter in their own custody's once in the same year, if they wish and it seems worthwhile. IX. On preachers. The friars must not preach in the diocese of any bishop if they have been forbidden to do so by him. And no brother should dare preach to the people unless he has been examined and approved by the minister general of his brotherhood and the office of preaching has been conceded to him. I also admonish and exhort the brothers that in their preaching their words be studied and chaste, useful and edifying to the people, telling them about vices and virtues, punishment and glory; and they ought to be brief, because the Lord kept his words brief when he was on earth. X. On the admonition and correction of brothers. Brothers who are ministers and servants of other brothers must visit and admonish their brothers, and they should correct them humbly and lovingly, prescribing nothing against their soul or our rule. Brothers who are subject to authority must remember that they have surrendered their own wills for the sake of God. Thus I strictly order them to obey their ministers in all those things which they have promised the Lord to observe and which are not contrary to the soul and to our rule. And wherever there are brothers who know they cannot observe the rule spiritually, those brothers should and may recur to their ministers. The ministers should receive them lovingly and generously and treat them so intimately that the brothers can speak and act as lords do with their servants. For that is the way it ought to be. The ministers should be servants of all the brothers. I admonish and exhort the brothers in the Lord Jesus Christ to beware of all pride, vainglory, envy, avarice, worldly care and concern, criticism and complaint. And I admonish the illiterate not to worry about studying but to realize instead that above all they should wish to have the spirit of the Lord working within them, and that they should pray to him constantly with a pure heart, be humble, be patient in persecution and infirmity, and love those who persecute, blame or accuse us, for the Lord says, "Love your enemies, pray for those who persecute and accuse you" (Mtt. 5:44). "Blessed are those who suffer persecution for justice's sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven" (Mtt. 5:10). "He who has persevered until the end, however, will be saved" (Mtt. 10:22). XI. That the brothers should not enter the convents of nuns. I strictly order all the brothers to avoid suspicious meetings or conversations with women and to stay out of the convents of nuns except in cases where special permission has been granted by the Holy See. Nor should they be godfathers of men or women, lest it lead to scandal among or concerning the brothers. XII. Concerning those who go among the Saracens and other infidels. Whoever should, by divine inspiration, wish to go among the Saracens and other infidels must ask permission from their provincial ministers. The ministers should grant permission only to those whom they consider qualified to be sent. I enjoin the ministers by obedience to ask the Lord Pope for a cardinal of the Holy Roman Church to serve as governor, protector and corrector of their brotherhood so that we servants and subjects at the feet of holy church, firm in faith, will always observe the poverty, humility and holy gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ which we firmly promised.
