MIDDLEBURY, Ind., Aug. 29, 2023 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) — Winnebago ®, the flagship brand of outdoor lifestyle product manufacturer Winnebago Industries, Inc., announced today its first conventional-class travel trailer, the Access . Like other Winnebago brand travel trailers, the Access features thoughtfully designed floor plans, clean and contemporary European styling, and ample storage, reflective of Winnebago’s legendary commitment to quality and innovation. It is distinct among competitors for a collection of premium features that no other trailer offers—such as a fully enclosed and heated underbelly and a 2-inch accessory receiver hitch for greater hauling versatility.

The Access, which sleeps up to eight people, is durable, easy to tow, and bolstered by Winnebago’s superior dealer service and support network. These features, combined with a starting MSRP of $29,600 (US) for the 25′ model, make the towable best-in-class for quality and value. Access floorplans are available in 25′, 26′ 28′ and 30′ sizes. Winnebago will debut the new towables at America’s Largest RV Show in Hershey, Pa. next month. Winnebago estimates the conventional towable segment represents approximately 40 percent of all towable RV sales, driven by value-conscious first- and long-time RV’ers.

Access Premium Features The Access features a collection of eight premium amenities as standard, which no other conventional-class trailer offers. These include:

• A fully enclosed and heated underbelly protects plumbing and wiring from road debris, pests and inclement weather, enabling travel during colder times of the year.
• Electric tongue jacks make it easy to move the trailer up or down when connecting or disconnecting from the tow vehicle.
• Powered stabilization jacks help keep the trailer stable after levelling it. With four individual buttons to control the jacks, there’s no need for power tools or a manual crank.
• 12V water tank pad heaters provide gentle heat to the holding tanks to prevent freezing, helping to extend the camping season.
• A factory-supplied 200W solar panel helps recharge house batteries and reduces reliance on shore power.
• A 2-inch accessory receiver hitch with a 350lb-capacity makes it easy to attach a bike rack, cargo carrier or other storage and gear-hauling accessories.
• A first-of-its-kind aerodynamic front profile that decreases wind resistance and drag for enhanced fuel efficiency.

A travel trailer to fit every family’s unique needs

The Winnebago Access comes in four floorplans, and the list of notable amenities is long. The Access features an electric tongue jack and powered stabilization jacks that are deployed at the push of a button. The travel trailer features an enclosed and heated underbelly around the plumbing and 12V water tank pad heaters to prevent freezing in the colder months. On the roof, not only will you find Winnebago’s signature skylight, but there’s also a standard 200-watt solar panel to keep you camping longer. Convenient Wi-Fi connectivity and porcelain toilets are among many premium features in the Access.

Its aerodynamic front profile, which is rounder than Winnebago’s other trailers, enhances fuel economy with its sleek shape. Each floor plan has an enclosed bedroom with a queen-sized bed at the front or rear. Sofa and dinette areas also convert into sleeping compartments. The Access also includes a dry bath with separate toilet and shower compartments, as well as a two-inch accessory receiver hitch that can hold up to 350 pounds of bikes or other gear.

Winnebago’s new Access travel trailer is insanely cheap yet surprisingly full-featured

Solar power, built-in wifi, and plenty of cargo space for your favorite outdoor gear — all for under $30k.

RV’ing, like scuba diving, playing paintball, and climbing Mount Everest, can be an expensive pastime. The largest and most luxurious motorhomes are often more expensive than a modest, two-bedroom house. But even midsize touring coaches and lightweight travel trailers can be pricey too. Winnebago is looking to change the game to provide more folks without a six-figure spending account “access” to their own recreational vehicle.

The aptly named Access is Winnebago’s answer to the often over-priced RV market. It’s an affordable, entry-level travel trailer that doesn’t scrimp on features and amenities. Despite its sub-$30K price tag, it’ll be roomy enough to sleep up to eight passengers. The exact layout is up to you, but the company has confirmed a good mix of floor plans, including a fully enclosed bedroom with a queen-sized bed at either the front or rear. Mixed-use sofa and dinette areas will provide additional sleeping space for children or guests.

Unlike many barebones travel trailers in this price range, the Access is a legit full-featured rig. The surprisingly long list of tech features includes built-in WiFi, a factory-installed 200W solar panel, and energy-efficient LED lighting on the interior and exterior. It’s a true four-season RV, too, with an enclosed underbelly that’s heated with 12-volt pad heaters, so you never need to worry about frozen pipes or holding tanks in the dead of winter.

On the outside, an electric tongue jack simplifies the hitching-up process, while push-button-powered stabilization jacks make leveling the trailer a snap. Around back, the Access will feature a two-inch accessory receiver hitch capable of hauling up to 350 pounds of gear. It’s a serious selling point for outdoor adventure lovers looking to tote extra cargo, mountain bikes, kayaks, or even stand-up paddleboards along on their next expedition. The entire shell is designed to be more aerodynamic than most other travel trailers in this class to decrease wind resistance and improve fuel economy.

Exact details on the full list of standard and optional features are yet to be announced. But Winnebago has confirmed the availability of large (22-inch-by-14-inch) skylights that bathe the interior in natural light, thick, UV-blocking metal sidewalls, and sturdy under-bed storage. The Access will even be available with residential-style, porcelain toilets — a surprising option in such an affordable travel trailer. The company is also touting the Access as “durable, easy to tow, and bolstered by Winnebago’s superior dealer service and support network.” So it should be a breeze to tote from A to B and be able to fix anything that might break along the way.

The good news is that Winnebago’s Access travel trailer is scheduled to drop next month (November 2023). The even better news is that it’ll be surprisingly affordable, with a starting price tag of just $29,600. While full pricing and options have yet to be confirmed, that base price still puts the Access at more than $16,000 less than the brand’s already affordable Hike off-road-centric travel trailer . That sounds pretty “accessible” indeed.
