Meet The Guides
Captain & Owner Jens Kalwa
Growing up on the East Coast of Vancouver Island and on the water since he was 13 years old, Jens knows the ocean like the back of his hand. "learning from my father how to drive boats, catch fish and behave around ocean wildlife, was the start to my big interest in everything that involved the ocean. It became my passion to be in or on the water wether it was surfing and getting to know the changes of ocean swells and tides or being on the boat to observe marine wildlife". He made his passion to his Career in the year of 2007 when he moved to Tofino and started Adventure Tofino Wildlife Tours. With so many larger tour operators already established in Tofino, my goal was to provide a different wildlife experience for my guests, tours in smaller groups and with a more personal touch. "Right from the start I received great support. Friends which already worked in Tofino as tour guides would share their knowledge with me and people who liked what I was offering would sent their guests my way. This was a very positive start and I am very thankful for that".
Now with two boats in operation and with the support of a small team of great people, I am excited that together we can let people from all over the world be part of this adventure."
Captain Jeffrey Warden
Jeff joined our team in 2018 after guiding tours in Tofino's waters since 2016. Jeff is a real adventurer with a great personality and a huge love for the ocean and wildlife.
When you are on a tour with Jeff and you listen to how he talks about the animals, with passion and in his deep and calm voice, you just don't want to stop listening!
His love for the ocean makes him want to be on, in and above it. He loves scuba diving, flying airplanes and skydiving.
When Jeff is not on the water he is in 10000ft hight skydiving over Long beach and spotting whales from up there as a Tandem Instructor from Point Break Skydiving in Tofino.
Captain Jordan Koroll
Jordan was born and raised in a beautiful small lakeside town in Central Ontario, Canada. From an early age, watersports were an avid passion of his and through his travels wildlife became a great focus in his life. He paired the two by studying an Honors Bachelor of Health Sciences with a specialization in mammalian anatomy, physiology and biomechanics.
His inquisitive nature and deep passion for both the cultural and natural history of many areas of the world have allowed him to guide in some incredible places. Bouncing from Canada’s Sub-Arctic with the King of the North’s beautiful polar bears, to the ends of the earth guiding kayak expeditions around the Antarctic continent. Jordan always looks forward to heading back to BC’s beautiful West Coast for the summer seasons. The Pacific Northwest wildlife draws him back time and time again, but when he is not skippering on the water you can find him running along the local trails, enjoying a nice early morning paddle, or sipping a delicious cup of coffee in town.
Our two boats "Azonic" and "Guardian 2" which we use for all of our tours are open 26 ft Zodiacs which take up to 12 passengers.

Orcas and Grizzlies Wildlife Tour
Note this is not a tour of a fixed group of participants with a professional guide. It is an itinerary composed of separate events which could be undertaken by groups, couples or like me an individual. Every aspect of this "tour" was organised to perfection and the notes provided exact details of what, where and how to expect things. There was no problem with flights, taxis, ferries or specialist providers. I loved the accommodation as I was made to feel I was wanted there and every assistance was provided. The local features at Alert Bay are worthwhile and the Cultural Centre is outstanding. Taxis are available on this small island but the best transport is walking to enjoy the local atmosphere. The one star missing for "overall" is because no warning was given that whales and grizzlies may not be seen as that is a seasonal thing which should be checked before booking.
Hut to Hut in Wildflower Heaven
The Hut to Hut Tour in Wells-Gray Park was amazing! Besides our group, there was no one there… it was so great to be the only people in such a vast space and our guide was excellent and respectful of this beautiful place. The pace was perfect and we had a different kind of beauty and challenge every day.
Whales & Bears of British Columbia
Despite some very wet weather it was a thoroughly enjoyable holiday.

What people love about british columbia tours.
This Vancouver Island tour was another great tour from Fresh Adventures. The trip was well run and organised. The 2 guides, Jafar and Carl were excellent and cooked some fantastic meals throughout the week. A good mix of exploring and relaxation at some great swimming areas throughout the island. Definitely recommend.
We loved the tour! Ian is a fantastic tour guide. He’s so knowledgable and makes things fun. It’s a long day but totally worth it. The Discover tour is the best. It’s a smaller group. Very personal. Just enough “tour” time as well as free time. Victoria is wonderful!
Great tour! Our guide Kilian was great. Having grown up in the area, he knew the best spots very well. Wonderful experience. I’m really satisfied. Very good hotels.

Adventure Tour Charters
Find guided BC boat tours of the wild British Columbia coast. These adventure tour operators provide unique and world-class opportunities to experience the wildlife, wilderness, and cultural heritage found on BC’s coast.
You don’t need to own a boat to be face to face with wildlife
For those who don’t own a boat — or even those who do — the best way to experience the wildness and wildlife of British Columbia’s coast is an adventure tour charter. Tours feature small groups (6-16 guests) living and travelling aboard Transport Canada certified passenger vessels (both sail and power), operated by expert mariners and guided by expert naturalists. Tours range in length, typically between 5 and 12 days. In contrast to a classic cruise-ship experience, a defining feature of adventure tours is having no fixed itineraries. Instead, each tour becomes a unique adventure guided by weather, tides, wildlife encounters and the interests and expertise of our guests and crews.
Sea for yourself
Tours go to the secret spots and most guides let you plan your activities. Depending on both the region and season, daily activities include exploring remote beaches and old-growth rainforests, guided tours of ancient First Nations villages, inflatable boat tours of kelp forests and estuaries. Every moment is filled with bear viewing, whale watching, sailing, sea kayaking, swimming, fishing and wildlife photography. Guests enjoy wonderful meals prepared by on board chefs, featuring sustainability grown, caught, or harvested produce, meats, and fish. Often guests enjoy fresh prawns, crabs, or fish they caught that day.
One of the best reasons for taking an adventure tour is learning from experts and locals about the ecology and human culture of each region. All operators are guests of the First Nations whose traditional territory they visit and have signed protocol agreements. Guests go ashore to experience life as it is lived on the rugged coast. Close encounters are one of the reasons these trips have won international awards, including designation in National Geographic Traveller’s Best of the World (2013).
Tour operators share a passion for proudly showcasing and contributing to the conservation of the British Columbia coast. They follow sustainable protocols in the purchase of supplies, conduct at sea and on land and when observing wildlife. All offer an eco-friendly experience of one of the most awesome places on earth. The adventure tour operators of British Columbia provide unique and world-class opportunities to experience the wildlife, wilderness, and cultural heritage of most regions of BC’s coast. Use the directory of Adventure Tour Charters to find out who sails where.

Over the years, the CIII and Mothership Adventures teams has provided ‘trips of a lifetime’ for countless travellers from around the world. See what our past guests have to say about their experiences with us.
“Trips on the COLUMBIA III have now become a necessity rather than a passing fancy. Thanks to the splendid crew, the wonderful chef and of course, my esteemed Captain Ross. I will rise again and organize another venture!”
– Paddy Victoria BC Whole boat charter, 2011, 2015
“We are truly in awe of the experience you shared with us. The attention to detail and the quality of care you show your guests is outstanding. Fern, the food was incredible, kayaking will always bring back memories of the smells coming from your galley and the camaraderie shared at the table. Ross, your love and enthusiasm for the COLUMBIA III and Mothership Adventures always shows in the stories and knowledge you so freely share. Thank you all for one of the best vacations we’ve ever had, along with the opportunity to share a week in your lives. We can’t thank you enough.”
– 2012 Joan and Michael Collins , Publishers, Sea Kayaker Magazine
“Another amazing trip aboard my favorite boat. It’s like taking our home into the middle of a vast, wild, beautiful wilderness, and then getting to quietly be a part of that natural world. A gentle spirit bear, sparring grizzlies, breaching whales and gorgeous paddling water! And then great food, good humor, amazing stories and wonderful friends. Thank you everyone for a unique and fantastic trip.”
– Mary, Cour D’Alene Idaho. 2012, 2013, 2015, 2016 and whole boat charter 2018, and returning in 2022
“So we travel all the way from England with hope and expectation for a great adventure and what did we get? A bl**dy fantastic adventure! The mix of wildlife, including the elusive Spirit Bear, grizzlies, black bears, wolves, sea otters, eagles and all the rest. Plus guides who know everything about everything!!!!! Plus food that was so, so, so, good, never a scrap was left, plus such great friendship and humour from all the guests and crew. Shame about the Skipper, but can’t have everything I suppose! So many thanks to Ross, Luke, Steve and Farlyn for the best time ever. Such great friends.”

- How to get to Sunshine Coast, British Columbia?" Sunshine Coast is a Peninsula however there is no bridge to connect with the Mainland Vancouver. It can only be accessed by water or by air. The trip to get here is part of the adventure! If you bring your own car, you must take car ferry through BC ferries’ scheduled service from Horseshoe Bay in West Vancouver to Lansdale in Gibson. During busy summer and holidays, the long waits at both terminals without a ferry reservation could be very frustrating. However, there are two other options that allow you to explore pristine Sunshine Coast hassle-free and more time to enjoy what an authentic West Coastal community has to offer. Option 1. Travel by bike or foot. If you are leaving from Vancouver Downtown area, you can hop on the Bus #257 Horsehoe Bay Express on West Georgia Street. It takes around 45 min depending the traffic and the bus will drop you off in front of the ticket booth. Just make sure to check the ferry departure time ahead. There will be extra $2 for taking a bike. Option 2. Travel by air. A short flight to Sechelt via Habour Air from Vancouver Downtown (March to October) or Sunshine Coast Air from Vancouver International Airport (year around) is very enjoyable. Not only it is quick and convenient, but the scenery is breath-taking.
- Do you offer pick-up and drop-off service for the tours operated by 7 Adventures? Yes, we offer pick-up & drop-off service in Vancouver Downtown area including all hotels for our tours in Vancouver, Sea to Sky and Okanagan region. We also offer the same service for the tours on the Sunshine Coast. We will pick you up & drop off at Sunshine Coast ferry terminal (Langdale) or at Habour Air / Sunshine Coast Air terminal in Sechelt.
- Are 7 Adventures tours kid-friendly? Most of tours are kid-friendly except Stawamus Chief Hike & Brewery tasting, Joffre Lakes Hike and Ladies only tours. We also have child seat available. Kindly request prior booking.
- Does 7 Adventures Tours offer private and customized tours? Yes we do! Just let us know your date of traveling and the time span, area of interests and age of group, we will take care of the rest so you can focus on creating some of the best memories either traveling with your family or friends. WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT US
Sunshine Coast Escape
Ria is an outstanding host and guide. She is extremely well organised and informative. The tour I did with Ria on the Sunshine Coast was exceptionally well planned. Ria chose just the right moments to stop and observe. The Smugglers Bay area was a gem. I strongly recommend tours led by Ria if you value personal service and visits to memorable vistas and places.
