"Please do not be alarmed, remain calm. Do not attempt to leave the dance floor."

Beyoncé announced her long-awaited tour for her seventh studio album " Renaissance " on Wednesday to kick off Black History Month . Demand for tickets skyrocketed so fast, the artist added second show dates seven cities: Toronto; Chicago; Washington D.C.; Atlanta; Houston; Inglewood, Calif. and East Rutherford, New Jersey.

The album, which debuted in July, is an ode to Black queer culture. Disco anthems, soulful ballads and sexy lyrics are packaged together in "Renaissance."

"RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR 2023," she shared on Instagram .

Beyoncé returned to the stage for first time in four years in January

Last month, Beyoncé made her return to the stage and performed at the opening of the Atlantis The Royal hotel in Dubai. Despite the luxury experience, the singer left fans wanting more, as she did not perform any songs from "Renaissance," The Hollywood Reporter reported.

The invitation-only event marked her first concert in more than four years. She last performed at the  Global Citizen Festival: Mandela 100 event in 2018.

Beyoncé dominates Grammy nominations

The singer's tour announcement comes days ahead of the Grammys where Beyoncé leads the 2023 lineup with nine nominations, including best dance/electronic album ("Renaissance"), best R&B performance ("Virgo’s Groove") and best traditional R&B performance ("Plastic Off the Sofa").

With 28 wins and 88 total career nominations, Beyoncé now ties her husband, rapper Jay-Z , for the most nominations in Grammy history. If Beyoncé picks up four or more awards this year, she will surpass the late Georg Solti for the most Grammy wins of all time. (The Hungarian-born conductor holds the record with 31.)

Beyoncé called out by Monica Lewinsky: over 'Partition' lyric after ableism controversy

Beyoncé and Jay-Z have got "to be the most intense power couple in the history of music," Recording Academy president Harvey Mason Jr. Mason said after the nominations were revealed. "That’s music and Grammy royalty – that’s the royal family."

Their combined 176 nominations are "absolutely a testament to their talent, to their level of excellence, to their work ethic, to their level of greatness over a long period of time. I don’t even know what the next (leading) couple would be, but it’s not anywhere close.”

Beyoncé's 'Break My Soul.' Taylor Swift's 'Anti-Hero.'  These are the 10 best songs of 2022, ranked.

Beyoncé noticeably was not nominated in any of the music video categories for the Grammys, having not released any album visuals for "Renaissance" since its debut.

Beyoncé

Beyoncé ’s Renaissance World Tour rolled into East Rutherford, N.J.’s MetLife Stadium over the weekend (July 29-30), bringing tens of thousands of fans from New York, New Jersey and beyond (license plates from Texas and Florida were spotted in the parking lot) to one of the biggest stadiums in America. After a career-best tour leg in Europe , which netted $154.4 million, according to Billboard Boxscore, Bey is back – and MetLife attendees are sleeping real good at night knowing they caught a knockout set from an artist in the midst of a creative peak.

Her Billboard 200-topping, Grammy-winning album Renaissance (featuring her latest No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100, “Break My Soul”) is a gift to diva-house aficionados and her longtime queer fanbase, which was out in full force over the weekend. While Renaissance naturally took up the lion’s share of the generous 30-plus song setlist, she played a wide-range of tracks from The Lion King: The Gift to B’Day to 4 , as well as several covers.

The ever-shifting set design was a visual feast, boasting everything from a giant translucent horse to a bed that suggested Botticelli’s The Birth of Venus to robot arms swinging around while holding rave fans. At one point, she rode atop a giant silver vehicle that looked suited for the lunar surface while a Pan-African flag flashed on the screen behind her; during another standout moment, Bey and her troupe of dancers strutted around the circular b-stage while she rapped her “Break My Soul (Queens Remix”) homage to living and late musical legends.

Below, here are five amazing moments from the Sunday (July 30) show at MetLife.

Early in the concert, Bey announced to the audience that “it’s not about perfection – it’s about enjoying your life.” Wise words, but pretty funny considering what happened next. After a “1+1” performance full of vocal acrobatics (rest assured, her mic is on during this show), she segued into a bluesy, raw cover of “I’m Going Down,” a Hot 100 hit for Rose Royce in 1977 that Mary J. Blige took to No. 22 on that same chart two decades later. The entire opening segment of the show is basically a live-vocal victory lap, so while it was nice of her to tell us mortals that perfection isn’t everything, she kinda-sorta proved otherwise.

Blue Ivy, Scene-Stealer

Despite being just 11 years old, Blue Ivy Carter has become a regular presence and reliable spotlight stealer on her mother’s Renaissance Tour. During “Black Parade” at Sunday’s show, Blue – wearing an orange, blue and white jersey with “IV” emblazoned on the front in camouflage (yes, Beyoncé has a matching one) – executed some impressive choreography that was several levels above what you would expect from someone her age. Beyoncé, standing atop a metallic vehicle during the number, beamed with pride while the audience lost their minds.

'Barbie' Vibes

It was possibly coincidental, but there were some serious Barbie movie vibes at MetLife during the July 29-30 Renaissance shows. First, Greta Gerwig, the film’s director/co-writer, was spotted at the Saturday night show. Secondly, there was pink aplenty. Obviously, Barbie does not own this color — and a year before the flick dropped, Bey implored us to “paint the world p—y pink” on “Cozy” — but plenty of folks pointed out the confluence on social media. Third, Bey’s black-and-white striped dress, paired with 1950s sunglasses, for the “Anointed” portion of the show seriously evoked the zebra-striped swimsuit of the first-ever Barbie doll, which debuted in 1959 and features prominently at the top of the 2023 film. Queen Bey, who got her own Barbie doll in 2005, even dressed up as that original Barbie during Halloween 2016, so it’s possible the look was a wink to the Barbie moment the world is having.

Renaissance Fashion

Speaking of outfits, the BeyHive got the memo that the category was Bad B-tch at MetLife when it came to threads. Tapping into the Renaissance album visuals, silver hot pants, disco-sequined skirts and mirrorball cowboy hats were everywhere, in addition to other outfits evoking the Harlem ballroom culture that informs the album. And in a nod to “Alien Superstar” (and perhaps the potential presence of interstellar visitors alluded to during a recent Congressional hearing), there were more than few plastic earrings of little green men dangling from fans’ ears. “I want to say thank you for all your beautiful outfits,” Beyoncé said at the top of the show. “It’s my favorite thing to see.”

'Love' Over the Top

While singing her Hot 100 top 20 hit “Love on Top,” Bey invited the audience to take an a cappella crack at the key-changing climax of the song. Obviously, few can match her vocal abilities, but the BeyHive made up for that in earnestness and enthusiasm, belting the chorus of the song over and over until Beyoncé, clearly touched by the roar of tens of thousands singing her music back to her, cut in to thank everyone. After that, she busted out “Crazy in Love” – and reminded us why it’s a little more fun to hear her sing.

Beyoncé Announces Additional Dates For Her Highly Anticipated Renaissance World Tour

beyonce renaissance tour july 30

After much speculation and months of waiting, Beyoncé is finally taking " Renaissance " on tour this summer! Queen Bey made the official announcement on Feb. 1 with a dazzling poster for the Renaissance World Tour posted on Instagram and tour dates listed on her website . The news caused so much excitement among fans that Beyoncé added additional dates the very next day.

Beyoncé's announcement comes a few short months after she first teased her world tour at the fifth annual Wearable Art Gala , at which the Grammy winner was in attendance. On Saturday, Oct. 22, 2022, she raffled off a lavish concert package valued at $20,000, which included first-class plane tickets, a three-night hotel stay, two "Renaissance" concert tickets, and a guided backstage tour from her mother, Tina Knowles-Lawson.

While the exact amount that the package was auctioned off for has yet to be revealed, video footage from the event shows bids reaching $50,000 and more, as reported by Yahoo News . The only thing that's certain is that the first two tickets to the "Renaissance" tour were sold ahead of its wider sale. Now, fans will be able to purchase their own tickets starting on Monday, Feb. 6, beginning with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, per a press release from Live Nation.

Beyoncé's Parkwood Entertainment-produced tour kicks off on May 10, 2023, at Friends Arena in Stockholm, SE, followed by stops throughout Europe and North America. It comes on the heels of her seventh solo album, act one of a three-part series, which arrived in July 2022, six years after she gave us 2016's " Lemonade ."

The 41-year-old Grammy-winning icon celebrated its release on her website , writing, "We did it!!! Thank you all so much for you love and support . . . This was years of experimentation. This was years of hard work, blood, sweat, and tears. I'm so grateful and it was worth it. I'm thankful that it was received and understood." She also hosted a star-studded Studio 54-inspired dance party at New York City's Paradise Club to mark the album becoming her seventh No. 1 solo album and the biggest debut from a woman artist this year, per Billboard .

Back in August, Beyoncé teased a clip from her first "Renaissance" music video, " I'm That Girl ," and most recently put on a grandiose live performance at the reveal of Dubai's Atlantis The Royal Hotel, which POPSUGAR was on hand to see, in January — marking her first concert in four years. She didn't perform any of her "Renaissance" songs, but now it's clear she's saving it all for her world tour.

Read ahead to find out everything we know about Beyoncé's Renaissance World Tour, including dates and how to buy tickets.

Where can you get tickets?

Tickets for the North American leg of the tour will be available through Ticketmaster's Verified Fan program. Tickets will go on sale Monday, Feb 6, with an exclusive presale to BeyHive members, according to a Live Nation press release.

Verified Fan registration is now open. Once you register, you'll be placed in a lottery system that determines which fans get invited to purchase tickets. Registration alone doesn't guarantee tickets. If you're selected, you'll get an access code the day before tickets go on sale. Everyone else will be placed on a waitlist. According to Live Nation, this process is intended to help Ticketmaster weed out the resellers and verify your account so that actual fans get priority to buy tickets.

Citi cardmembers will have a special Citi Presale after the Verified Fan process. Get more details here . Verizon will also offer an exclusive presale through their customer loyalty program Verizon Up .

Will Beyoncé be using Ticketmaster like Taylor Swift to sell tickets?

Yes, but given what happened with Taylor Swift's Eras tour (and the fact it led to Congressional hearings about Ticketmaster ’s practices), it seems very likely both Beyoncé and Ticketmaster would want to avoid repeating that mess. That most likely explains the usage of the Verified Fan system.

Where will Beyoncé be playing?

The Renaissance World Tour will hit 40 cities in North America and across Europe. Stops include Paris, London, Amsterdam, Toronto, Chicago, East Rutherford, Atlanta, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Houston, and many more.

What has Beyoncé said about the Renaissance World Tour?

She just announced it was happening with a post on February 1. Her website didn't immediately contain any more details. But during the Wearable Art Gala in October 2022, she appeared to confirm it would start this summer, as a backstage tour with her mother Tina Lawson was up for auction at the event.

Will Beyoncé be performing at the Grammys (on February 5) and sharing more tour details there?

Not clear yet, but she is the most nominated artist at the ceremony . On January 21, Variety reported that “ talks with show producers are ongoing for a possible onstage appearance ” by Beyoncé.

What can we expect from the tour on stage?

Beyoncé hasn't shared that yet either, but given the artistry she put into her recent Dubai show , it's fair to say we can expect no less than excellence, elaborate costumes, and an incredible experience.

This post will be updated the moment more detail is released.

beyonce dubai performance

As expected, Beyoncé has announced a 2023 world tour on Instagram, supporting her multiple-Grammy-nominated 2022 album, “Renaissance.” She also released the dates and cities on her official website.

The timing of the announcement, which comes just days before the Grammy Awards on Sunday, sparks speculation that the singer may perform or at least appear on the show. Beyoncé is the most nominated artist for the awards with nine, all related to “ Renaissance .” Sources tell Variety that her husband Jay-Z will perform with DJ Khaled on the show, most likely their nominated song “God Did.”

Popular on Variety

Beyoncé has said that “Renaissance” is a three-part project, so it’s possible that the next parts could be another album, a long-form video project or even the tour itself.

Beyoncé’s last full tour was the nearly six-month, 49-date “Formation” tour in 2016, which unusually featured no guest appearances until the final show, at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium, where she brought out Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z.

She did, however, stage an epochal “Homecoming” headlining performance at the 2018 Coachella festival — which was postponed from 2017 due to the birth of her and Jay’s twins — for which she was accompanied by a full marching band in a nod to historically Black colleges and universities. That blockbuster performance was later released as the “Homecoming” album and — via a three-project deal with Netflix that sources tell Variety is worth $60 million — a feature-length documentary. It seems possible that a future “Renaissance” video project could be part of that deal as well.

With the final month of the Renaissance tour approaching, Beyoncé shared a statement on Instagram that “Virgo Season is upon us.” She continued: “This tour has been such a joy and as we approach the last month, my birthday wish is to celebrate with you wearing your most fabulous silver fashions to the shows 8.23 – 9.22! We’ll surround ourselves in a shimmering human disco ball each night. Everybody mirroring each other’s joy. Virgo Season together in the house of chrome. See you there! Your B at RWT.”

Renaissance World Tour 2023 North America Dates

Wondering if Beyoncé is playing a show in your area? Below are the remaining cities the Grammy winner will visit for the 2023 North American leg of the Renaissance tour . Beyoncé previously also added an additional three shows to the tour, including Atlanta (8/14/23), Las Vegas, (8/27/23), and Inglewood, CA (9/4/23).

Not surprisingly, Ticketmaster said it saw a massive demand for the Renaissance tour in a blog on its website. “Fan demand already exceeds the number of tickets available by more than 800% based on the registration numbers in the Group A cities. It is expected that many interested fans may not be able to get tickets because demand drastically exceeds supply.”

While we won’t give too much away about the Renaissance tour set list (though you’ve likely seen much of it on TikTok), you can hear more about the show in Rolling Stone Music Now ‘s podcast episode . It’s a deep-dive into what fans can expect during the concert. In short, you can likely plan to hear everything from deep cuts like opener “Dangerously in Love,” along with Renaissance tracks like “Alien Superstar,” “Cuff It,” and closer “Summer Renaissance.” Plus: “Love on Top,” “Crazy in Love,” “1+1,” and more.

When Are Beyoncé Renaissance World Tour Tickets On Sale?

According to Ticketmaster at the time, “Beyoncé is distributing tickets in three different Verified Fan sales: BeyHive Presale powered by Ticketmaster Verified Fan; Citi Presale powered by Verified Fan and the General Verified Fan Onsale. Additionally, there will be a Verizon Up Presale. Registration windows vary by city, so check the schedule below and be sure to note when the window closes for the show you’re interested in attending.”

In other words, if you tried to register for Verified Fan presale, you needed to see which group your city was a part of ahead of time. Group A registration was open until Feb. 2, with Group B registration previously scheduled until Feb. 9, and Group C until Feb. 16.

European dates started in May, and Beyoncé embarked on the North American leg of the Renaissance tour over the summer, including stops in Toronto (read our Renaissance tour review ), Los Angeles, Houston, and New Orleans. Though Beyoncé headlined a show in Dubai — her first concert in four years at the time — she didn’t play any songs from Renaissance , Rolling Stone ‘s No. 1 album of 2022 (“the musical highlight of the year”) and a frontrunner at the 65th Grammys .

When Beyoncé dropped Renaissance last summer, Rolling Stone ‘s Mankaprr Conteh wrote that “Beyoncé flung open the doors to a nightclub of her own making, a place where anyone can be the hottest person in the galaxy … the album traverses eras of dance music to conjure the superhuman confidence and deeply human connection of a night out. The thematic triumph of the auteur’s seventh album is this union of the extraordinary and the earthly across it, a duality that lives on the dancefloors Renaissance was inspired by — and in all of us.”

How to Get Beyoncé Tickets With BeyHive Verified Fan Registration

BeyHive Verified Fan Presale started Feb. 6 for those who registered in Group A, followed by Groups B and C.

The first round of the BeyHive presale arrived just one day after Beyoncé made Grammys history on Feb. 5. With 32 wins under her belt, Beyoncé broke the record for the most Grammy Awards in music history, winning the Grammy for Best Dance/Electronic Album for Renaissance .

“I’d like to thank my beautiful husband, my beautiful three children who are at home watching,” Queen Bey said during her acceptance speech. “I’d like to thank the queer community, for your love, and for inventing this genre. God bless you. Thank you so much to the Grammys.”

While Renaissance didn’t win a trophy for Album of the Year , Beyoncé still took home a slew of other awards, including Best R&B Song for “Cuff It,” Best Dance/Electronic Record for “Break My Soul,” and Best Traditional R&B Performance for “Plastic Off the Sofa.”

“You changed my life,” Lizzo told Beyoncé during her Grammys acceptance speech for her Record of the Year win. “You sang that gospel medley, and the way you made me feel, I was like, ‘I want to make people feel this way with my music.’ So thank you so much. You clearly are the artist of our lives.”

Beyoncé is back to show us what stars are made of

The first u.s. show of her dazzling renaissance tour sparkled in every way.

beyonce renaissance tour july 30

PHILADELPHIA — Peep this cosmic slop: Nearly every surface was either sequined up or chromed out, and there were these giant robotic arms that knew how to vogue, and there was a Mars rover with hydraulics and a stripper pole on the roof, and when it appeared as if P-Funk had suddenly landed the Mothership in the end zone of this earthly football stadium next to I-95, the hatch opened to reveal a metallic scallop containing a disco Venus singing words that turned the July air even hotter, but then she transformed into an anime mecha with alloy antlers before finally mounting a stallion made of disco ball and riding it into history, the same way Bianca Jagger pranced that white horse through Studio 54 back in 1977.

Maximalism has always been Beyoncé's thing. If you want people to have a blast, you blast them. That means the glitzy, blitzy launch of her current world tour’s domestic leg at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia on Wednesday night felt like a retinal bombardment of scrupulously detailed choreography, costuming, stage lighting, set design, interstitial videos, metallurgical stage props and more. Even her music threatened to violate its own innate invisibility, thickening the air from the moment the show opened with “ Dangerously in Love ,” a gem from her rookie seasons in Destiny’s Child. “I love you, I love you, I love you,” Beyoncé sang copiously and attentively, as if testing how many notes she could fit into the three magic monosyllables that ultimately bind humanity. A few moments later, during the titular hook of “ I Care ,” she was showing and telling in the same freighted breath.

Bedazzled and jet lagged, the Beyhive swarms Stockholm for ‘Renaissance’

Most stadium-grade pop extravaganzas stash all the ballads and midtempo stuff in the middle of the show, giving the singer a chance to regain themselves. Beyoncé turned in her homework early and didn’t look back. Once the sun had fully checked out of the sky for the night, she happily shimmied into her newest songs from “Renaissance,” a sparkly album that taps into the hereditary pulses of disco and house music while quietly subverting the traditional equation that fun equals careless abandon. In Beyoncé's sound-world, the good times are so tightly girded by her intensity, her commitment, her circumspection, that all the catharsis ends up shooting out of the music like laser light. And in case you couldn’t see-hear-feel it during the gummy bounce of “ Cuff It ,” her lyrics asked the question straight up: “Have you ever had fun like this?” Before a complete answer could be formed, she experienced a wardrobe malfunction that was minor but unforgettable. She literally sang her sunglasses off her face.

Everyone in the crowd managed to keep their clothes on — as evidenced by thousands of sequined outfits casting their delicate, woozy, cosmic reflections into neighboring airspaces. This kind of sparkle is obviously meant to feel emblematic of opulence and extravagance, or maybe even magic. Prices vary between the jeweler and the craft store, but some scientists suspect it goes much deeper than that. They think our attraction to glitter and gloss is likely rooted in our evolutionary attraction to water.

At a Beyoncé concert, where notions of fabulousness and survival feel tightly intertwined, that all made a special kind of sense — especially during “ Break My Soul ,” a throbbing self-reliance anthem that Beyoncé made shimmery during its “la-la-la-la” intro, then heavier than life in its conclusion, its unresolved search “for something that lives inside of me.” In between, the entire song transformed into an interpolation of Madonna’s “Vogue” — but instead of dishing up a sangfroidy little rap about Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, Beyoncé shouted out Aaliyah, Bessie Smith, Nina Simone, Lauryn Hill, Janet Jackson, Grace Jones, Sade, Aretha Franklin and at least a dozen other Black queens of soul and hip-hop music.

She’s so good at this, so good at telling a musical story bigger than herself, even while proving she’s a singular proposition for the ages. Now, more than a quarter-century into her fame, it’s clear that Beyoncé is done with the pop market forever-ever, having opted to funnel countless Black traditions into a recombinant style of songmaking that very much belongs to her alone. That breadth of vision requires tight focus and loose imagination — and it results in the sequined multitudes spending a hot summer night listening to one of the greatest vocalists alive sing “ Cozy ” while she dances with real robots, then coo “ Partition ” while she zooms around on her fake space rover, then purr “ Virgo’s Groove ” from inside a cosmic seashell where time doesn’t exist. Ever have fun like this?

Tina Knowles stuns in Beyoncé ‘Renaissance Tour’ outfit

  • Oops! Something went wrong. Please try again later. More content below

Beyoncé and her mom, Tina Knowles , are so close that they share the same designer looks.

Tina Knowles recently attended a Las Vegas event where all eyes were on her because the entrepreneur arrived wearing an outfit that members of the BeyHive immediately recognized.

At the opening of “Love & Laughter” at The Cosmopolitan casino April 27 — a new show featuring Cedric The Entertainer and Toni Braxton — Tina Knowles wowed on the red carpet in a jumpsuit that resembled denim. The luxurious one-piece also included matching, attached boots.

She shared photos from the event on her Instagram and complimented the comedian and Braxton's collaboration in the caption.

View this post on Instagram A post shared by Tina Knowles (@mstinaknowles)

“The show was soo great!!!!!!” she wrote, in part, and added three red hearts.

Fans in the comments quickly pointed out that Tina Knowles appeared to wear the same look that Beyoncé donned on stage during her Louisville, Kentucky “Renaissance World Tour” show on July 17, 2023. The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer posted photos from her performance at the time on Instagram . She also sported matching gloves with her look.

Eagle-eyed Beyoncé fans were impressed that Tina Knowles appeared to borrow her daughter's outfit.

“Okay mama tina i see with beyoncé tour outfit on,” one commented.

“You in Beyoncés closet,” a fan asked.

Another joked, “Ate that bee lady up in her own outfit” and added a fire emoji.

According to W Magazine , the bodysuit the mother and daughter wore is a custom Diesel look featuring gray crystals and a print that mirrors denim.

Their mother-daughter relationship was highlighted in concert movie “Renaissance: A Film By Beyoncé,” as was Mathew Knowles , Beyoncé’s father and Tina Knowles’ former husband.

In behind the scenes footage and documentary-style interviews, Tina Knowles sits in the background, subtly supporting her daughter. She became more vocal on social media after the movie premiered, celebrating Beyoncé's wins and defending her against criticism.

Read on to learn more about the parents of one of the most iconic performers of all time.

Beyoncé's parents were married from 1980 to 2011

Tina and Mathew Knowles tied the knot in 1980 and were married for nearly 30 years. Tina Knowles filed for divorce in 2009, and the couple issued a joint statement to the Associated Press.

“The decision to end our marriage is an amicable one. We remain friends, parents and business partners,” they said at the time. “If anyone is expecting an ugly messy fight, they will be sadly disappointed. We ask for your respect of our privacy as we handle this matter.”

The former couple finalized their divorce in 2011.

Both remarried following their divorce

Tina Knowles tied the knot with the actor Richard Lawson in 2015. She filed for divorce in July 2023, citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.

Meanwhile, Mathew Knowles said “I do” to model Gena Avery Knowles in 2013.

They share two children and four grandchildren

Tina and Mathew Knowles welcomed their first daughter, Beyoncé, on Sept. 4, 1981 ( yes, she's a Virgo ). Their second daughter, Solange, was born June 24, 1986. Both went on to have successful careers in the music industry.

Tina and Mathew Knowles also have four grandchildren: Solange's son with ex-husband Daniel Smith, Daniel Julez, 19, and Beyoncé's children with husband Jay-Z: Blue Ivy, 11, and twins Sir and Rumi, 6.

Kelly Rowland was an honorary daughter

Beyoncé's father was the manager of Destiny's Child, the girl group that helped catapult her and bandmates to fame.

When Destiny's Child bandmate Kelly Rowland was 11 years old, she moved in with the Knowles family, Tina Knowles  said in a 2015 essay for TIME.

"You came to live with us when you were only 11 years old. You were the sweetest, most kind person I had ever met and you still are. You are also a true survivor. You never give up. Your discipline and drive always inspires me," Tina Knowles wrote.

Beyoncé got her name from Tina

When it came time to name her first born child, Tina Knowles took inspiration from her own maiden name, as reported by ET.

“A lot of people don’t know that Beyoncé is my last name. It’s my maiden name,” she said in 2020 while appearing on the  "In My Heart With Heather Thomson " podcast.

“My name was Celestine Beyoncé, which at that time was not a cool thing to have that weird name. I wanted my name to be Linda Smith because those were the cool names,” she said.

Mathew Knowles managed his daughter's career until 2011

Mathew Knowles played an active role in building Beyoncé’s successful career and served as her manager until 2011. In a 2011 statement, the singer announced that they were parting ways professionally.

“I am grateful for everything he has taught me,” she said at the time. “I grew up watching both he and my mother manage and own their own businesses. They were hardworking entrepreneurs and I will continue to follow in their footsteps.”

In his own statement, Mathew Knowles called the decision "mutual," as reported by Billboard.

"We did great things together, and I know that she will continue to conquer new territories in music and entertainment," he said.

“Business is business and family is family,” he continued. “I love my daughter and am very proud of who she is and all that she has achieved. I look forward to her continued great success.”

Mathew Knowles managed Destiny's Child and would love to see them reunite one day

Knowles told ET in 2023 that he'd love it if Beyoncé, Rowland and Michelle Williams reunited. “It’s a decision that the ladies would have to make,” he said. "And I would certainly, certainly support that decision as I still manage Destiny’s Child. I would love to see that as well."

Knowles' time as a manager was criticized. Former band members LaTavia Roberson and LeToya Luckett both brought multiple lawsuits against Beyoncé, Rowland and their manager and Knowles’ father, Mathew Knowles, as well as the group’s label, Sony Music, all of which were  settled out of court .

Tina Knowles helped create her daughter's ‘Austin Powers’ character

Beyoncé made her screen debut in 2002 playing Foxxy Cleopatra in "Goldmember."

Producer John Lyons told Vulture in 2022 that Knowles-Lawson was present for her audition.

“It was clear that (Beyoncé) was so nervous at that audition, and Tina came with her, both as moral support and, I’m sure, to size us up and see if we were going to be respectful of her daughter and if we deserved her,” producer John Lyons told the publication.

Once on set, Knowles-Lawson helped the character come to life.

“Her mom was very much into blaxploitation movies,” director Jay Roach told Vulture. “She could tell that was the DNA for Foxxy. Her mom was so cool and so helpful and instantly had ideas for us.”

Beyoncé gets her sense of style from her mom

Tina Knowles' fashion prowess, which was shouted out in "Renaissance," has been part of Beyoncé's entire career.

She was Destiny's Child's official stylist and handmade some of their costumes. She reflected on that time in her career in an interview with The Washington Post .

Their wardrobe was inspired by Motown groups — which, she said, became a "problem" for other people connected to the group, who pressured her to make the band members look more like Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears.

"(The costumes) were just a little too flashy, a little too Motown, but what they really meant was that they were a little too Black,” she recalled.

Mathew Knowles survived breast cancer

Mathew Knowles announced that he had been diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019. In a statement to TODAY.com , he explained why he shared the private news publicly.

“We need men to speak out! Men want to keep it hidden, because we feel embarrassed — and there’s no reason for that. I want to continue the dialogue on awareness and early detection — male or female. The key to this is early detection,” he said.

Tina Knowles is not afraid to stand up for herself

In January 2024, Tina Knowles said she learned an important lesson after she was criticized for liking a post that took issue with Janet Jackson’s upcoming tour prices.

“I am saddened by this,” she wrote on Instagram Jan. 24, captioning her video addressing the backlash of the perceived Jackson diss .

“Janet Jackson is an icon and I would never question another artist. I took Destiny’s Child to see Janet when they were 15 years old,” she explained, noting the pop star’s influence on her daughter and the group.

“They always looked up to her and she opened doors for Beyoncé,” her captioned continued. “Why would I hate on her?”

In the video, Knowles said she received a phone call that she’s “trending for liking a post about ticket prices of an artist.”

“Being on the other side of it, I know better than anyone what a great production cost and that it’s expensive,” she said. “And I would never criticize another artist, let alone Janet Jackson who is the queen of production and her family. They’re the first family of music. Always have been and always will be and I love and respect them.”

Reflecting on her experience, Knowles said she learned a valuable lesson: “Stay way from negativity.”

“If you follow me, then you know that I am not involved in mess,” she said. “What I am guilty of is liking post, going through when I’m in a big hurry and I don’t have time to really and liking things because I trust that these are people that I follow. That was a big mistake. I will never do it again.”

Tina Knowles is her daughter's biggest fan

Don't mess with Mama Tina! Knowles regularly comes to Beyoncé's defense when necessary. Most recently, she slammed critics who suggested that Beyoncé bleached her skin for the premiere of her concert film, "Renaissance."

“How sad is it that some of her own people continue the stupid narrative with hate and jealousy. Duh, she wore silver hair to match her silver dress as a fashion statement...” she wrote on Instagram.

“Every time she does something that she works her a-- off for and is a statement of her work ethic, talent and resilience,” she continued. “Here you sad little haters come out the woodwork. Jealousy and racism, sexism, double standards, you perpetuate those things. Instead of celebrating a sister or just ignoring if you don’t like her.”

“I am sick of you losers,” she finished. “I know that she is going to be pissed at me for doing this, but I am fed up! This girl minds her own business. She helps people whenever she can. She lifts up & promotes black women and underdogs at all times.”

Knowles also defended her daughter when critics slammed Beyoncé for wanting to do country music for her new album.

In response to the naysayers, Knowles posted a photo montage on Instagram , which included many throwback photos of her daughter in cowboy attire.

“I just came across this video on my IG feed! We have always celebrated Cowboy Culture growing up in Texas,” Knowles wrote.

“When people ask why is Beyonce wearing cowboy hats? It’s really funny, I actually laugh because it’s been there since she was a kid ,we went to rodeos every year and my whole family dressed in western fashion,” she added. “Solange did a whole brilliant Album and Project based on Black Cowboy Culture. . It definitely was a part of our culture growing up."
