Take a wonderful tour of Indianapolis with a learned Indiana native Carrie Zimmerman !!! We were so fortunate to get the information and entertaining facts about the industries, sports and famous people of Indianapolis. We certainly felt grateful to hear of this city's amazing history. We went to the Speedway, heard about the famous authors, Brad Tarkington, Silverstein, Kurt Vonnegut and saw some beautiful architecture which included Monument Circle, museums, the theatres along Mass Ave, and the canal.

I did a "quickie" visit recently to Indy and really just had 1 full day to check it out. Since it was very late Fall, most other local tour companies had packed it in for the season. Not Ms. Carrie! She is out there hitting the road, enlightening visitors and showing the sights of Indianapolis to a appreciative audience. Circle City Tours is very flexible and will work with your schedule and timeline. I was picked up downtown for the tour but for a slight fee, Carrie dropped me off at an Airport hotel. I was grateful for her immense knowledge of the city, particularly historical facts. LOVED the trek through lovely Crown Hill cemetery, which is not morbid at all. Carrie pointed out the many grave sites of noted politicians, authors, artists, ex-Presidents and the locally prominent who lie in repose there. The Civil War burial section was also very touching. Ms. Carrie pointed out magnificent churches, memorials, art and children's museum, local eateries (Shapiro's Deli=yummy!) and the White River State Park area. We even got to check out all the Christmas decorations up at the Indy Speedway. She packs a lot into the 3-hour tours but when it's over, you feel a sense of accomplishment that you learned so much about Indianapolis-- a city made all the more beautiful than it already is, by the beautiful ministrations of Carrie and Circle City Tours. 5 YELP STARS.

Carrie was great! She showed us all the sights and sounds of Indy. It's obvious from the way she talks that she loves Indianapolis. It was cool to see all the historic landmarks, unfortunately a lot of them were covered in snow. Best part of the tour for me was going to Speedway!

Photo of Ken W.

Whether you're a short term visitor, a long time resident, or anyone in between, you owe it to yourself to take Carrie's tour. Her affection for the city is reflected in her extensive knowledge and boundless enthusiasm. From downtown sights to civic monuments, to diverse neighborhoods, to cultural attractions to, of course, the Speedway, this will be the favorite thing that you've done in Indianapolis.

I recently had a chance to use Circle City Tours. Carrie hands down is one of the best tour guides. She is also the owner of the company. She gave us a personal and comprehensive tour of the city, as well as focusing on places that were of interest to us. If you come to Indianapolis check out Circle City Tours.

Sanam, Thanks for the kudos. Apologies for the delay in acknowledging you--it's Winter, you know! Hope you're staying warm. Come see us if you get to Indy again, and we'll do Part Deux!

I was on a business trip to Indy and wanted to check out the sites via bus tour. I am very happy with my Circle Tours experience. Carrie was very well versed in Indy history and fun facts. It is a great opportunity to see the sites, take pictures, and learn about the city you're in. It is definitely a must do! I wholeheartedly recommend this service!

Since this review, I was contacted by the owner of the company and my refund was finally processed. I am upset that it had to go to this, but it seems I would not have received my refund if I did not report this to my credit card and then write a negative review. Rightfully so, I cannot speak on behalf of the tour because I never took one (so I am sure the tour may be lovely), but in terms of refunds they have to change their policy. Waiting over 30 days for a cancelled tour refund is not appropriate at all. Plus, we should not have to constantly write emails/texts/calls or go to a review to finally receive the refund. So at this time I am upgrading my review from 1 to 3 stars as the refund was successfully processed and I have my money back, but I will not grant more as going through this type of hassle for weeks is only 3 star worthy in my book. In the future, just refund the guest right away, it will clear all of this headache and mess up.

Do not recommend at all. Booked this tour in advance and unfortunately due to the weather, it was canceled (snowstorm/ice storm). We live out of state and had no plan to return so we were told within 30 days we would receive our full refund, but that never happened. I called, emailed and texted many times and have never heard back. It seems Circle Tours is ignoring me and keeping my money! I've reported this to my credit card company as I have emails stating I would get my return but it's a shame I had to go through this. I thought this was an honest and friendly company, but it's not. I also found it a bit strange I had to wait 30 days for a refund but so be it and still was ripped off after-all. Book elsewhere, this company is a lying and stealing one- not one I would ever consider again in the future.

In Indy for a blog conference. I wanted to write a blog post, "24 Hours in Indianapolis" so enlisted Circle City Tours to show me around. Since there was only my friend and I signed up for a tour, Carrie volunteered to take us around in her SUV and give us the same tour she gives to her bus groups. What we received was an excellent view of Indianapolis. Carrie really knows her city's history. We learned so much and enjoyed the tour immensely. Definitely recommend this tour.

Holiday Lights Tour, departing Glendale Shopping Center east side, traveling thru Indy's north side (Forest Hills, Meridian-Kessler, Meridian-Park, Fall-Creek Place, 30/40 minutes free time on the Circle, returning to Glendale via North Meridian Street: 2-21/2 hours)...just took this tour Dec 14th with about 15 total in the bus and we had a great, holiday time. Great driver, fun and interesting guide, happy fellow passengers that we all had fun, laughing, joking and singing holiday songs together! Great way to see the city lights and "leave the driving" to City Tours! Adults 2 for $15, youth (5-12) 2 for $8 (under 5) free. Try this....a treat for you and your date/kids/family! It is well worth it! Call for reservations and pay when you board the bus!!!!
