TV’s hottest show is going back on tour across America this winter in Dancing with the Stars: Live! – Light Up the Night. Fans of the show have the opportunity to see the best ballroom dancers in the business perform live in their hometowns. This all-new production showcases ballroom and contemporary dances seen on ABC’s hit show Dancing with the Stars, including sizzling group numbers, steamy duets and over the top original pieces.

PARKING GARAGE

Playhouse Square has kept event parking affordable for our guests. In fact, at just $20, the on-site Playhouse Square garage is priced lower than other parking facilities at every downtown entertainment and sports venue, where prices are sometimes more than double on event night for lots that can be several blocks away.

The garage offers a covered walkway into the theaters. The walkway is accessible from the 2nd floor of the garage and elevators are available on each parking level.

Purchase night or weekend parking in the   Playhouse Square Parking Garage   (located at 1450 Chester Avenue).

The  Lumen Parking Garage  is conveniently located across the street from the theaters, entering on E. 17th Street between Prospect and Euclid.

Parking passes must be purchased prior to the day of your performance.

Note:  On the day of your performance, you will not be able to purchase Playhouse Square Parking Garage passes online or at the Box Office. Drive-up on-site parking may still be available at the published on-site rate. No overnight parking.

VALET PARKING

Valet parking is provided by  VIP Valet at Playhouse Square . For your convenience, valet is available on both sides of Euclid Ave.

Pardon our dust!  During the construction period for the Bulkely Apartments through December 2024, valet parking for the north side of Euclid will be located at the corner of E. 17th St. and Euclid Ave. From Chester Ave., turn south on E. 17th to access valet parking.

Valet parking is also available in front of the Hanna Theatre on E. 14th St.

Normal hours of operation are two (2) hours before the first performance until after the last performance for all evening and weekend performances.

Dining in the district? Discounted valet parking is available with a $30 minimum purchase at Bin 216, Cibreo Italian Kitchen, District and Hofbrauhaus. To receive the discount, just provide your dining receipt to confirm the minimum purchase when you return to the  valet to pick up your car. Dining at The Ghost Light Restaurant and Lounge at the Crowne Plaza? Discounted valet parking is available for you there.

Following the success of "Dancing with the Stars: Live! - Hot Summer Nights" and the 25th Season of Dancing with the Stars, America's favorite dance show, produced by BBCWP, is going back on tour across America this winter with "Dancing with the Stars: Live! - Light Up The Night." Fans of the show have the opportunity to see the best ballroom dancers in the business perform live in Cleveland at the KeyBank State Theatre at Playhouse Square on January 30, 2018. This all-new production showcases every style of dance seen on ABC's hit show produced by BBC Worldwide Productions, from sizzling salsas to elegant waltzes and high energy group numbers, plus original pieces choreographed by Emmy© winning choreographer M Andy Moore .

'Dancing with the Stars Tour' winds its way to Cleveland Tuesday

PREVIEW Dancing with the Stars Tour What: Professional and celebrity dancers from several seasons of the hit TV show perform live. When: 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8. Tickets: $49.50 to $165. Where: Cleveland State University's Wolstein Center.

Performing on television's "Dancing With the Stars" doesn't compare to dancing live for the people who made it a top-rated show. The show tapes in front of a 400-person audience, but between 5,000 and 10,000 enthusiastic fans pack arenas and other venues each night of the tour.

"You never realize how many people watch the show until the tour," said professional dancer Cheryl Burke, a veteran of several "Dancing" seasons and tours. She'll be performing when the tour comes to the Wolstein Center at Cleveland State University Tuesday.During the television show, professional dancers and celebrity partners sweat for viewer votes and to stay alive in the competition. When the dancers step out on a nationwide tour, they can just let go and do what they love, Burke said.

She won the "Dancing With the Stars" seasons two and three championships, and appeared on the show's just-concluded edition.

The touring show involves professional dancers-only routines, celebrity-only routines, group dances and solo dances.

The tour includes dancers from past seasons. Among those scheduled to be here include the Cheetah Girls' Sabrina Bryan -- a crowd favorite who left many amazed at her early elimination this past season -- and partner Mark Ballas Jr. Singer Marie Osmond, who endured a fainting spell and the death of her father during this past season, is paired with Jonathan Roberts. Actor Joey Lawrence dances with Edyta Sliwinska, and actress-singer Monique Coleman and Alec Mazo are on the bill.

They will be joined by professional dancers Derek Hough, Brian Fortuna, Kym Johnson, Karina Smirnoff and Burke. Current "Dance" champs Helio Castroneves and Julianne Hough are on tour but won't appear in Cleveland. The lineup is subject to change.

The tour reunites Burke with her season two championship partner, singer Drew Lachey. Her current season five partner, entertainer Wayne Newton, is on the tour but will sing instead of dance. Newton is taking it easy in the wake of a recent health scare, Burke said.

Burke has suffered health problems herself. She missed the first two "Dancing" tour dates because of appendicitis. She rejoined the tour in time to perform in her home city, San Jose, Calif.

Burke began studying ballet at age 4, and ballroom at age 11. She loves having great chemistry with a partner and working as a team. She's trained in Latin dances ("the music is high-energy") but as she gets older, she finds she appreciates the ballroom dances more.

The secret to Latin dancing is in keeping the hips loose and feeling the music in the body, she said.

You might think that the pros would find it frustrating to dance with amateurs, but no. Burke enjoys seeing the neophytes improve as competition progresses.

"Being involved with that is a pleasure," she said.

City Stages Global Music Concert Lineup Announces for 2024

FREE summer block parties return to Ohio City’s Hingetown neighborhood

CLEVELAND  (April 23, 2024)—Come for the music, stay for the party! City Stages, the Cleveland Museum of Art’s (CMA) FREE summer concert series, is back in the best of global music on Wednesdays, July 10, 17, and 31, 2024. This year, three acts from three different countries are bringing amazing beats to Transformer Station in Ohio City’s Hingetown neighborhood for unforgettable evenings. 

“Here are the musical groups in this year’s lineup:

• Mexico-based  Pahua
• Haiti- and Canada-based Wesli
• Brazil-based  Bia Ferreira

Concerts begin at 7:30 p.m., and visitors are encouraged to arrive early and grab dinner and a drink at one of  Ohio City’s bars or restaurants or visit one of the local shops . Seating is limited—bring camp chairs and enjoy an evening of music and dancing in the street.

Bridging the gap between alternative electronic and Latin rhythm,  Pahua  is the brainchild of Mexican artist Paulina Sotomayor. A talented producer, percussionist, vocalist, and DJ, Sotomayor draws inspiration from nature and femininity while mixing electronic folk and lo-fi beats that will have you dancing the night away.

Haitian Canadian Wesli’s musical journey has gone from stringing up an oilcan with nylon fishing string to winning a JUNO Award for World Music Album of the Year. Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, he is a prolific songwriter, guitarist, and producer. Uniting a large cross section of Montreal talent, his music links Haitian voodoo and rara with twoubadou roots, Afrobeat, and reggae.

Brazilian singer, composer, multi-instrumentalist, and “artivist,” Bia Ferreira defines her music as “MMP—Música de Mulher Preta” (Black-Woman Music). Her songs spread messages about feminism and love, speaking out against injustice and other topics near to her heart.
