Everest is more than 100x more difficult I think you're confusing Everest Base Camp with actually climbing Everest. Base Camp is a very popular trek. Tens upon tens upon thousands of people do it every year. Not diminishing the accomplishment at all, it's still very tough, but you're greatly exaggerating the situation.
