Tamar Braxton (born 17 March 1977) – aka Tamar Estine Braxton-Herbert – is an R&B singer/songwriter from Severn, Maryland, US that focuses on soul and pop music. Apart from her solo music career she is also known for being a model and a reality television personality.

Tamar Braxton discovered her talent for singing at a young age along with the rest of her sisters. She began singing at the age of 2 and was performing in her church choir throughout her childhood. Tamar is known for her extensive vocal range that covers five octaves, allowing her to hit some of the most difficult notes. She is also influenced by many great artists including Whitney Houston and Mariah Carey.

In 1989 Tamar Braxton formed the R&B girl group The Braxtons with the rest of her sisters: Toni, Trina, Traci, and Towanda. In 1990 the group released the hit single “Good Life”. Toni Braxton left the group in 1991 to sign to LaFace records as a solo artist, and her sisters supported her as backup singers on her first US tour. Tamar continued to perform with the remaining members of The Braxtons after Toni had left, and released the album “So Many Ways” in 1996 with her sisters, Trina and Towanda. The album produced the single “The Boss”, which reached the No. 1 position on the Billboard Dance Charts.

In 1998 Tamar had left The Braxtons to pursue a solo career and signed to DreamWorks Records. Tamar released her self-titled debut solo album in 2000, which contained the singles “Get None” and “If You Don’t Wanna Love Me”. The album placed on the Billboard 200 chart and featured several notable guest artists like Missy Elliott, Jermaine Dupri, and Tricky Stewart. Apart from her solo career, Tamar continued to provide backup vocals for three of Toni Braxton’s albums in the early 2000s.

In 2004 Tamar switched record labels and signed with Casablanca Records. During this time she released the single “I’m Leaving”, which was highly inspired by the song “Grindin” by the rap duo Clipse. After leaving Casablanca Records, Tamar would sign to Universal Records in 2010 and release the single “The Heart In Me”. The single was later featured on the “Adidas 2: The Music” compilation. While not making music Tamar was busy with the reality television shows “Braxton Family Values” and “Tamar & Vince”. Tamar would also go on to host the television shows “Tiny Tonight” and “The Culturelist”.

In 2013 Tamar released her second studio album “Love and War” through Epic Records. The album was a great success critically and commercially, debuting at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart and No. 1 on the US Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. The album contained the singles “Love and War”, “The One”, and “All The Way Home”. The album also received a Grammy nomination for Best Urban Contemporary Album, and the title track from the record gained Tamar another two Grammy nominations. In 2013 Tamar also released a Christmas album “Winter Loversland”, which featured many traditional renditions of Christmas tunes. Tamar is also known for her amazing live performances and has embarked on headlining tours as well as toured with several notable musicians such as John Legend and R. Kelly.

Live reviews

256) Tamar Braxton With Grammy nominations under her belt, the American pop and R&B singer/songwriter Tamar Braxton has had an incredibly successful career. Following in the footsteps of a successful sibling is always a challenge, but Tamar didn’t let her R&B sister Toni Braxton over shadow her, ad she broke away from their family band and signed to DreamWorks.

Although her debut album wasn’t a commercial success at all, she persevered, and it paid off with the release of her second album Love and War. She opened her show with the title track from the album, and blew the audience away with her great dance moves and her high range. She was great at interacting with her backing dancers to create an exciting show to be a part of, as well as screaming out to the audience for us to copy her dance routine which was a lot of fun. She played a couple of older tracks from The Braxton’s days, as well as some of her original gospel tracks.

She gave us a sneak preview to a track from Winter Loversland which I’m now so excited for, because it sounded great. To make the show even better, the acoustics and visuals form the lighting and projectors were spot on, and made it even more exciting to watch.

I had the most fun and AMAZING time last night at the Oracle in Oakland watching Tamar Braxton’s performance. The beautiful songstress wowed us ALL with her LIVE singing and interaction with the audience. Her talent is undeniable and a true wonder to witness.

I would highly encourage purchasing the Meet/Greet package to meet Tamar. I did and it was the PARAMOUNT experience of my life. To be able to take a picture with her and Q&A with a group of fans was the bomb.com. Tamar is truly a beautiful person from the inside out. It was truly a delight and hope everyone can attend her upcoming Blue Bird of Happiness tour. Love you Tamar.

So, Tamar did a good job! I wish she would've performed more songs, but of course it wasn't her show (The Great Xscape Tour) so she did the most popular. "Hott Sugar" is my JAMMY JAM!!!

~love, Love, LOVE~

I love how she included some audience members and was able to pull in the crowd even those who weren't as familiar. Made her performance all the more enjoyable and personable.

Tamar was horrible considering it was her first appearance at the dell she was singing to a track which was good then she ASKED fans to come u to sing with her an when they didn't no the words to the song she just snatched the microphone from them an walked off the stage without even thanking the crowd. Fantasia Reveals She’s Working on TWO New Albums / Teases Gospel Music & Tamar Braxton Duet

fantasia tamar braxton tour

Over a year after confirming she was hard-at-work on her long-awaited debut Gospel album , GRAMMY-winning R&B diva Fantasia has not only lifted the lid on its status but also sent her faithful fans into a frenzy with news the LP won’t be coming alone.

Fantasia fans who have been impatiently awaiting a new studio album from the songstress since her critically acclaimed 2019 release, ‘Sketchbook,’ found out Wednesday ( October 12 ) their wait won’t be in vain as she’s readying not one, but TWO new albums.

Chatting it up on Instagram live with Tamar Braxton , Fannie – when not exchanging pleasantries with her fellow powerhouse vocalist – stunned with the news of she’s putting the finishing touches on a new set of LPs.

Before discussing the new music, the two agreed with a commenter who suggested they should do a song together.

“We should,” the ‘Free Yourself’ belter relayed about the potential of a Braxton duet before talking about her forthcoming musical endeavors. “I’m gonna go back to my little girl roots and do something Gospel. I’ve got to. Because you know at the end of the day I always do Gospel at my shows.” googletag.cmd.push(function() { googletag.display('primis_TGJ_1x1_Desk'); if (pubwise.enabled === true) { pwpbjs.que.push(function () { pwRegisterLazyLoad(gptadslots['primis_TGJ_1x1_Desk'], 2, [250,0,250,0], 0, 768, 2); }); }else{ googletag.pubads().refresh([gptadslots['primis_TGJ_1x1_Desk']]); } });

While she didn’t elaborate much on the other project, it’s assumed the set will be R&B as the diva recently made headlines for reaching out to Cardi B for a collaboration.

At writing, Fannie has not revealed a tentative release date for the efforts but just news of them being in the works is enough to get her fans excited.  Here’s hoping the Tamar collaboration comes to fruition and lands on one of the forthcoming projects.  If not, there’s also a chance it could land on Braxton’s new album (which is reportedly coming soon).

Watch their full 40-minute chat below.

They know Fantasia isn’t that light-skinneded. They got her ankle the same color as Doja Cat or Latta. YEah, Fantasia can emote in a song, but that is all throat singing. She can’t sing from her diaphragm like normal singers. It sounds like she is suffocating some.

' src=

Nobody cares …… 💅🏾 She sounds like she is chewing on 3 burgers in her big ass mouth everytime she sings 💀

here the b**** ass haters come!!!!! One thing you should know is that when all your favs one longer tour because no one wants to hear them Fantasia will still be selling out tours because she has real talent…..

About Tamara Braxton

Tamar Braxton's entry into the music industry came through her five-member sibling group, the Braxtons, which featured older sisters Traci, Trina, Towanda, and, most notably, Toni. The quartet released one single, the number 79 Billboard R&B single "Good Life," for Arista in 1990. The group was dropped, but Toni was subsequently signed by LaFace and featured her sisters as part of her backing group. Minus Toni and Traci, the Braxtons signed to Atlantic and released the moderately successful So Many Ways in 1996; a Masters at Work remix of their Diana Ross cover, "The Boss," topped Billboard's club chart.

Tamar eventually left the group to establish a solo career on the Dreamworks label. After a false start, Tamar released a self-titled album in 2000 that placed two singles on the charts, including the Top 30 R&B hit "If You Don't Wanna Love Me," co-written by Christopher "Tricky" Stewart and Xscape's LaTocha Scott. She continued to perform background vocals for Toni's albums and was briefly signed to Casablanca -- an association that did not pan out. She took part in the reality series Braxton Family Values and Tamar & Vince and signed to Epic. Her December 2012 single "Love and War" peaked at number five on the R&B/Hip-Hop chart and preceded her album of the same title, released the following September. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200. Only two months later, she released the holiday album Winter Loversland. Three Grammy nominations for Love and War and its title track followed shortly after that. As she maintained her reality television profile, she recorded her third proper studio album, Calling All Lovers, which was released in 2015. In the summer of 2017, Braxton issued the single "My Man" in advance of her album, I Know Who I Am as a Woman.

About K Michelle

Since her aptly titled debut album, Rebellious Soul, K. Michelle has consistently offered her fans her pain, her desires, her challenges, and her love without a filter…and she’s okay with that. For almost a decade K. Michelle has been a vocalist whose imprint and contribution to R&B is in alignment with not only her influences but singers whose artistry has the ability to connect to the listener’s soul. K. Michelle’s body of work is a testament to her experiences over time and a sonic journal that has chronicled her growth. Past aside, she is presently poised to speak her latest truth on her self proclaimed last R&B project, I’m the Problem. It boldly frames what she has now come to understand as her vantage point as she enters the next chapter of her career and her life. I’m the Problem is an affirmation. And much like she started her career, she continues to stand in her confidence while laying her heart bare to have a conversation with her fans about why being the problem isn’t always a negative. It’s self-care. Regardless of what the next album is defined as, I'm the Problem is unapologetically R&B. It is among the lexicon of what happens when an artist can write about life over instrumentation. Through this offering K. Michelle, simply being Kimberly Michelle, is an alpha female and a country girl who idolizes Dolly Parton and Whitney Houston, loves Morgan Wallen, cries to Mary J. Blige’s music and wants her fans to feel good about the music she makes.

About October London

October London is an old-soul singer and songwriter whose smooth, heartfelt vocals recall R&B giants of the past like Sam Cooke and especially Marvin Gaye. London, a native of South Bend, Indiana, arrived in July 2016 with a featured role on "Revolution," the triumphant finale of Snoop Dogg's Coolaid. Later that month, London made his proper solo debut with "Black Man in America," a bluesy retro-soul single filled with anguish, through veteran producer Jazze Pha's Cadillac Music label. The song's parent release, an EP titled Color Blind: Love, arrived three months later and featured a duet with Faith Evans. "KDB (Kisses Down Below)," a contemporary club track recorded with BCANIC, was out by year's end. London's output through only the first half of 2017 included second EP Color Blind: Hate & Happiness, an appearance on Snoop's Neva Left, and the understated full-length Not Your Average Album.

Founded by group member Michael Keith and groomed by Sean “Puffy” Combs, the Atlanta-based group 112, had a meteoric rise that solidified them as the hottest R&B group of their time. Their debut, album “112” (1996) went double Platinum and gave us hit records like “Cupid” and “Only You”, which featured memorable features from the late, great Notorious B.I.G while also introducing us to then newcomer on the scene, and Bad Boy label mate, Mase. Proving that lightening can in fact be caught in the bottle, the group quickly followed up their debut with yet another double Platinum offering. “Room 112” dropped just two years later and featured records like “Come See Me” and “Anywhere”

The Grammy-winners debuted “Spend It All” during a Memorial Day VERZUZ battle to over 300 thousand fans and a flurry of thumbs up and fire emojis from celebrity friends like Diddy, Stevie J, Marion Winans, Keri Hilson and more. The pair were declared victorious on scorecards from both Billboard.com and Revolt.tv after the legendary group went head-to-head with Jagged Edge, garnering over 6.5 million media impressions. Not letting quarantine keep them from delivering for the fans, 112 spent the majority of quarantine in the recording studio, fine-tuning their new project to honor the female fans that have kept their legacy going strong for 25 years.

SILK is best known for their hit singles, “Freak Me” which reached number-one on the US Billboard Hot 100, and “Happy Days” from their debut album, Lose Control. Another hit from Lose Control, “Girl U For Me”, helped the album reach double platinum status. They later had success with singles such as “I Can Go Deep”, “Hooked on You”, “Don’t Rush”, “If You” (released February 23, 1999) “Meeting in My Bedroom”, and “We’re Calling You”. In 1994, Silk won Album Of The Year for Lose Control at the Soul Train Music Awards.

Along with the likes of Dru Hill and Jagged Edge, Next were part of a late-'90s contemporary R&B class that combined a gospel background, suggestive lyrics, multi-part harmonies, and slick productions with stylistic cues taken from Jodeci and R. Kelly. From 1997 through 2000, the trio placed four singles within the Top 20 of the Billboard Hot 100, including the chart-topping "Too Close" and number seven hit "Wifey." After two albums for major-label Arista, including the multi-platinum 1997 debut Rated Next, the group moved to Clive Davis' post-Arista venture J Records, where they released a third album prior to a rift in 2003. The original members released new material 15 years later, following an acrimonious split and some false restarts.

Robert "RL" Huggar and Marlon "Shilo" Benjamin met fellow vocalists and brothers Terry "T-Low" Brown and Raphel "Tweety" Brown through musician Reverend James Grear. Formed in 1992 as Strate4ward, the Minneapolis, Minnesota-based vocal quartet was mentored by Grear and Sounds of Blackness' Ann Nesby. Following some local performances, Benjamin was ousted from the group, renamed Next by RL. RL, T-Low, and Tweet then made a demo produced by Tony "Prof-T" Tolbert and Lo-Key?'s Lance Alexander. The recording reached Naughty by Nature's Keir "KayGee" Gist, who promptly arranged a showcase for Clive Davis. This resulted in a deal with Davis' Arista label. Next made their debut with "Butta Love," co-produced by Tolbert, Alexander, Gist, Darren Lighty, and the Beatminerz' Walt "Mr. Walt" Dewgarde. The ballad entered the Billboard R&B/hip-hop chart in September 1997 -- eventually reaching number four -- and was followed later that month by the full-length Rated Next. The album's success was boosted and sustained with a couple additional singles co-produced by Gist and Lighty. "Too Close," memorable for its dance groove as much as its bawdy hook, reached the top of the Hot 100. The album's third single, "I Still Love You," went Top Five R&B/hip-hop.

In June 2000, a month after Rated Next received a double-platinum certification from the RIAA, Next issued their follow-up album, Welcome II Nextasy. With Gist and Lighty still in their corner, the group hit the pop Top Ten again with "Wifey." The parent album didn't have the longevity of the debut but was certified gold within a month of release. During subsequent downtime, Next were featured on Jaheim's Top Ten R&B/hip-hop hit "Anything," and RL recorded a solo album, RL:Ements, for Clive Davis' then new J label. RL's set was only eight months old when, in December 2002, Next followed suit on J with The Next Episode. The album was barely promoted, with "Imagine That," produced by Gist, Lighty, and Eddie F, the lone single to chart. Shortly thereafter, financial and creative misgivings came to a head. The group requested and received release from Davis' label, and Tweet departed. Tweet returned several years later, though he hadn't missed much. RL was out of the picture by the time T-Low, Tweet, and new vocalist Aaron Deponce recorded the single "Leaving with Me." By the time that song was available in 2014, Deponce was no longer in the group. RL eventually returned, and in 2018 the original three members of Next independently released the characteristically salacious "Want It."

Tamar Braxton is back with new music after teasing that she was working in the studio earlier this year.

In an official Instagram post on Tuesday (Apr. 26) Braxton shared with her 4.9 million followers that she would be going on an East Coast tour starting Saturday (Apr. 30).

“If you would be so lucky to get a ticket. I’ll have something special and NEW for you,” she captioned a black and white photo of herself announcing the dates of her live performances that will continue until the beginning of September.

The singer will also make a stop at the Nashville R&B Fest, on June 4, where Keith Sweat , Tevin Campbell , 112 , Pretty Ricky , Raheem DeVaughn , and H-Town will be performing.

It’s unclear what Braxton’s new project title will be called, but fans are speculating #UnderConstruction could be a possible contender.

Prior to her tour announcement, she shared a portrait of herself, captioned, “Whether you experience a LOSS or feeling LOST, you’ll always find your way back #underconstruction.”

“#UnderConstruction” is the name of her award-winning podcast where she takes fans on an unfiltered journey about her career, relationships, motherhood and more.

Tamar Braxton Tickets from $88

Make room for ground zero because Tamar Braxton is dropping a bomb! In celebration of her second album's 10th anniversary, the multimedia personality announces the "Love and War Tour" this fall season, kicking off at the Irving Plaza on Tuesday, October 24!

R&B fans are eating GOOOOD this year! More than a half-decade since her retirement, Tamar Braxton returned last March with her newest hit, "Changed," featuring a sample from SWV's "Rain." Now, she's following up with a limited run to commemorate her best-selling album, with four shows planned across New York, Atlanta, Silver Spring, and Detroit.

The three-time Soul Train Music Award winner is the same as how you see her in Braxton Family Values: unabashedly EXTRA. Overflowing with giddy energy, Tamar Braxton can up any crowd into thunderous cheers. Her voice—a five-octave soprano—will give you goosebumps, especially when she's belting it out to fan-favorite hits such as "The One" and "Let Me Know."

"Not only was I thoroughly entertained by her stellar voice, but I was equally entertained by her hilarious commentaries. I was in stitches… I was cracking up the whole entire time."

Braxton launched Love and War back in September 2013 to commercial and critical acclaim, with over 114,000 copies sold in its first week. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 chart and NUMBER ONE in the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums. The collection's titular track—a certified platinum hit—also received two nominations at the 56th Grammy Awards: Best R&B Performance and Best R&B Song.

"The project is beautifully crazy—exactly what we've come to know and love from Tamar Braxton. It took a dose of reality TV to bring us to Tamar's musical reality. Now everyone is tuned in," Kathy Iandoli wrote in her review for Vibe magazine.

Down by Union Square, Manhattan, the Irving Plaza stands out from most music venues with its ballroom-style arrangement. The hall presents an intimate atmosphere flooded by colored lights that seamlessly adapt to the performance, with tightly tuned acoustics for a genuinely one-of-a-kind concert experience.
