We thoroughly the presentation by Dennis on his history with introducing the breed to America. It was informative and enjoyable. We loved getting to see the horses face to face they are an amazing breed. Taylar our guide was delightful and very patient with all of our questions . I wish he had had some of the decorative plates for sale but they don’t carry them. Highly recommend the tour The Scredons

What an amazing morning. The horses are absolutely beautiful. The story that Dennis tells about building the legacy of the Gypsy Vanner horse is interesting and heartwarming. The grounds are amazing and the tour is great. I highly recommend it.

I am a member of the Orlando Camera Club, and the field trip to Ocala to visit the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm was amazing! Dennis and his team were so gracious and accommodating to our photographers and made our visit extra special! The little 9 week old donkey named Patience greeted us, so cute! Then we were lucky to see a brand new colt, only 10 days old….too precious! Dennis and his team then brought out the stallion, “Little Fred” to run in the paddock so we could take action shots….spectacular! Between photo ops we were able to roam and photograph other mares and stallions spread out in various paddocks. I can’t forget “Lucy and Tommy, a young mare and stallion who frolicked and also made beautiful subjects for our club. Dennis gives a wonderful presentation on his life, and what led up to the origin of the GYPSY GOLD HORSE FARM, the Gypsy culture, and how he and his wife came upon these beautiful horses in England, and were the first to bring them to America! If you’re visiting Central Florida, the Gypsy Gold Farm is a must see!! The Orlando Camera Club looks forward to returning again next year!

This was awesome the farm is beautiful and also the horses. Loved the lecture it was very informative and funny at times. I will go again when I come back to Florida. The gift shop was nice and reasonably priced.

This was one of the more memorable things I have done in a long time! Dennis Thompson starts off by sharing his experience of bringing the Gypsy Vanner horses to America. It is a story of love, passion, fortitude and luck. His ultimate vision for the farm is compelling… we could use a few more Dennis’s in the world. Taylor follows the presentation by a tour of the farm that allows you to spend time face to face with these beautiful creatures and answers all of your questions. The time flew by and didn’t seem long enough, which underscores a great tour!! Thank you for a wonderful morning!

It started with a really interesting historical presentation and then a tour. The horses are truly beautiful and amazing. And you can bring carrots or apple pieces for treats.

This is a great tour of a horse farm and interesting history of this unique breed. I would recommend the 2 hour tour. Dennis is a wonderful storyteller and kept our attention. His story of how he bought this breed to America is so interesting. Plus he’s a great comedian and also seems to be kind to animals and humans alike. His personal story is interesting as well. The second part of the tour is a walking tour of the farm with the Gypsy Vanner horses mules and donkeys and even a few birds. Plenty of opportunities to pet or feed a horse (bring carrots). These horse seem to love the attention.

What an excellent Tour! Learning of the horse breed, how Dennis came to raise this breed and getting to walk through the various pastures is pure FUN! A great family time! They have the Gypsy Vanner horses and various breeds of donkeys. ❤️

They are very friendly and clearly are expertly cared for with a great deal of affection. They love to be petted and will happily approach visitors to pose for pictures. The two hour experience is roughly divided in half with the first half being a very informative and entertaining talk about the history of the breed and how they came to be in the Florida. We were very fortunate in that the Farm's owner graciously gave the presentation himself! The second half of the tour consisted of a leisurely stroll through through the large corrals. We even got to pet the foals! Our charming guide answered our many questions and introduced us to the personalities of each of the horses. There were only (20) guests on the (40) acre farm - just lovely! The tour is perfectly suited to seniors. Chairs are provided for the talk. The walk was very easy but for those with mobility concerns several of the corrals are very close to the barn and there are chairs outside to sit out part of the walk if need be. The talk's educational content was primarily geared to an adult audience - it would not be suitable for very small children. Also (just to manage expectations for younger guests), these horses are not available for riding. The Farm does support school programs for the very young - I do not know if they have tours that are suited to younger families at this time (should have asked!). Logistics of getting there from the Disney area are quite easy - the drive was about 90 minutes on the Turnpike. There were many different areas that we toured with an abundant amount of beautiful horses to get up close and personal with. After learning all about the History, You’ll be invited to create a memory of your Gypsy Gold tour with a photo of yourself and one of our beautiful Gypsy Vanner Horses to share with your friends.

You’ll finish up your tour with a guided walking tour of the farm where you’ll meet the stallions, mares, foals and various other animals loved at Gypsy Gold. You are welcome to bring your own horse treats or carrots!

Moscow Metro

The Moscow Metro Tour is included in most guided tours’ itineraries. Opened in 1935, under Stalin’s regime, the metro was not only meant to solve transport problems, but also was hailed as “a people’s palace”. Every station you will see during your Moscow metro tour looks like a palace room. There are bright paintings, mosaics, stained glass, bronze statues… Our Moscow metro tour includes the most impressive stations best architects and designers worked at - Ploshchad Revolutsii, Mayakovskaya, Komsomolskaya, Kievskaya, Novoslobodskaya and some others.

And there some stories to be told during the Moscow metro tour! The deepest station - Park Pobedy - is 84 metres under the ground with the world longest escalator of 140 meters. Parts of the so-called Metro-2, a secret strategic system of underground tunnels, was used for its construction.

During the Second World War the metro itself became a strategic asset: it was turned into the city's biggest bomb-shelter and one of the stations even became a library. 217 children were born here in 1941-1942! The metro is the most effective means of transport in the capital.

Hidden underground, in the heart of Moscow, are historical and architectural treasures of Russia. These are Soviet-era creations – the metro stations of Moscow.

Our guide Maria introduced these elaborate metro stations as “the palaces for the people.” Built between 1937 and 1955, each station holds its own history and stories. Stalin had the idea of building beautiful underground spaces that the masses could enjoy. They would look like museums, art centers, concert halls, palaces and churches. Each would have a different theme. None would be alike.

The two-hour private tour was with a former Intourist tour guide named Maria. Maria lived in Moscow all her life and through the communist era of 60s to 90s. She has been a tour guide for more than 30 years. Being in her 60s, she moved rather quickly for her age. We traveled and crammed with Maria and other Muscovites on the metro to visit 10 different metro stations.

Moscow subways are very clean

To Maria, every street, metro and building told a story. I couldn’t keep up with her stories. I don’t remember most of what she said because I was just thrilled being in Moscow.   Added to that, she spilled out so many Russian words and names, which to one who can’t read Cyrillic, sounded so foreign and could be easily forgotten.

The metro tour was the first part of our all day tour of Moscow with Maria. Here are the stations we visited:

1. Komsomolskaya Metro Station  is the most beautiful of them all. Painted yellow and decorated with chandeliers, gold leaves and semi precious stones, the station looks like a stately museum. And possibly decorated like a palace. I saw Komsomolskaya first, before the rest of the stations upon arrival in Moscow by train from St. Petersburg.

2. Revolution Square Metro Station (Ploshchad Revolyutsii) has marble arches and 72 bronze sculptures designed by Alexey Dushkin. The marble arches are flanked by the bronze sculptures. If you look closely you will see passersby touching the bronze dog's nose. Legend has it that good luck comes to those who touch the dog's nose.

3. Arbatskaya Metro Station served as a shelter during the Soviet-era. It is one of the largest and the deepest metro stations in Moscow.

4. Biblioteka Imeni Lenina Metro Station was built in 1935 and named after the Russian State Library. It is located near the library and has a big mosaic portrait of Lenin and yellow ceramic tiles on the track walls.

5. Kievskaya Metro Station was one of the first to be completed in Moscow. Named after the capital city of Ukraine by Kiev-born, Nikita Khruschev, Stalin's successor.

6. Novoslobodskaya Metro Station  was built in 1952. It has 32 stained glass murals with brass borders.

7. Kurskaya Metro Station was one of the first few to be built in Moscow in 1938. It has ceiling panels and artwork showing Soviet leadership, Soviet lifestyle and political power. It has a dome with patriotic slogans decorated with red stars representing the Soviet's World War II Hall of Fame. Kurskaya Metro Station is a must-visit station in Moscow.

8. Mayakovskaya Metro Station built in 1938. It was named after Russian poet Vladmir Mayakovsky. This is one of the most beautiful metro stations in the world with 34 mosaics painted by Alexander Deyneka.

9. Belorusskaya Metro Station is named after the people of Belarus. In the picture below, there are statues of 3 members of the Partisan Resistance in Belarus during World War II. The statues were sculpted by Sergei Orlov, S. Rabinovich and I. Slonim.

10. Teatralnaya Metro Station (Theatre Metro Station) is located near the Bolshoi Theatre.
