Travel highlights Iceland

Animal watching Iceland is a perfect spot for animal watching. Starting with whale watching. There are more than 20 different species around Iceland, from Humpback to Orca. But it is also perfect for bird watching - here you can see the Atlantic puffins Iceland is famous for.

Aurora Borealis You need a little bit of luck to see them, but from September till April the chances are good to witness the Northern Lights. When the weather and Aurora forecast are right you can see them anywhere on the island outside the cities. Just keep looking for really dark spaces and be patient. And if you are not lucky, visit the Northern Lights Museum in Reykjavic, where you can learn a lot about this miracle.

Blue Lagoon Blue Lagoon, Iceland's most famous travel highlight, is a natural hot spring built into a geothermal Spa. Here you can enjoy the warm, milky blue water while sitting in the middle of an snowcapped vulcano landscape.

Golden Circle On a Golden Circle tour you can combine visiting three of Iceland's main sights: start your tour with Thingvellir National Park. Here you can witness the result of the tectonic plates moving a few centimeters every year. Then your trip will bring you to Geysir, where water is shot up in the air for 30 meters every few minutes. Your journey will then proceed to Gulfoss, the golden waterfall. 

Jokulsarlon lagoon Iceland's glacier lagoon is one of the islands true highlights. Even during summer you can enjoy the impressive icebergs arising from the sea. Take a guided walking tour or a boat trip to get the best possible impression of this area.

Reykjavik The 'smoky bay' has all the advantages of a capital city in a quite relaxing atmosphere created by, among other things, the beautiful old houses. Icelandic people work hard and party even harder, so it is no surprise that there is great nightlife in Reykjavic.

Top Places 

 Blue Lagoon

 A geothermal spa in southwestern Iceland the Blue Lagoon is located in a lava field near Grindavík and in front of Mount Þorbjörn. The Blue Lagoon is located at approximately 20 km from Keflavík International Airport, and is one of the reputed attractions in Iceland.

Pingvellir National Park

From the year 930 until its final meeting there in 1798, Iceland's annual parliament, or Aling, met at ingvellir. The parliament has been housed in Alingishsi in Reykjavk since 1881. Ingvellir is now a national park in the southwest Icelandic municipality of Bláskógabygg, some 40 km northeast of the country's capital, Reykjavk. One of the most loved tourist locations in Iceland the park is the historic, cultural, and geological site of Ingvellir. 

According to Landnámabók, Ingólfr Arnarson founded Reykjavk in 874 CE, which is thought to be the site of Iceland's earliest permanent settlement. The city location did not experience any urban growth prior to the 18th century. As a commercial town, the city was formally established in 1786. Over the ensuing decades, it expanded steadily as it changed into a regional, then national, hub of trade, population, and governmental operations.

It is one of the world's safest, greenest, and cleanest cities. Visit Reykjavík is the capital and largest city of Iceland. 

Southeast Iceland's Raefi area hosts Skaftafell, a protected area. It was previously a sizable farm before being designated a national park. The bigger Vatnajökull National Park had once been known as Skaftafell National Park before it was combined with other surrounding areas. 

Jokulsarlon

A sizable glacial lake named Jökulsárlón is then found in Iceland's Vatnajökull National Park's southern region.

It is a lake that formed when the Breiamerkurjökull glacier began to regress from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean. It is located at the head of the glacier. Since then, the lake has expanded at varied rates as a result of the glaciers melting. As glacial retreat expanded its limits, it was claimed to be the deepest lake in Iceland in 2009, with a depth of over 284 m. It now occupies an area of roughly 18 km2 and is about 8 km from the edge of the ocean.

Hallgrimskirkja

Iceland's Reykjavk is residence to the Hallgrmskirkja Lutheran parish church. It is among the highest buildings in Iceland and it is the largest church at 74.5 metres high. Since its completion in 1986, it has been praised for becoming a significant emblem for Iceland's national identity due to its distinctively curving spire and side wings. The Passion Hymns' author, the Icelandic poet and cleric Hallgrmur Pétursson, is shown honour by having his church bear his name. 

Language communication

Even if the native tongue is Icelandic which is a North Germanic language. English is understood and spoken frequently by the dwellers of this land. We will anyway provide you with an English-speaking guide for ease of travel.
