IN FLAMES announce U.S. tour with GATECREEPER

In Flames ' 2023 album Foregone was a return to melodeath form that ranked among the year's best . In 2024, the Swedish vets are keeping the momentum going by heading out on tour with two of death-metal's current torch-bearers,  Gatecreeper  and  Creeping Death .

Later this spring, the three bands will be treking throughout the U.S., beginning May 1st in Portland, ME, and concluding May 26th in Dallas. 

Tickets go on sale this Friday January 26th at 10  a.m. local time, and you can see the full list of dates below.

In Flames is a heavy metal band - formed in 1990. By 2008 they had sold over 2 million records internationally. They have released over ten studio albums.

Jesper Strömblad founded the Swedish group alongside another band he was part of. In 1993, Strömblad decided to dedicate all of his time to In Flames. That same year Glenn Ljungström on guitar and Johan Larsson on bass guitar joined for the first In Flames line up.

Their first album was released in 1994 called 'Lunar Strain'. The trio had to use different singers to help out, as they didn't have a lead vocalist. But in 1995 they got Björn Gelotte to join the band as a drummer, and Anders Fridén as their full time vocalist. The official one-piece metal band was born.

Their music uses harmonized lead guitar melodies and screamed/ growled vocals. On Soundtrack to Your Escape, the band used less guitar melodies so they were able to incorporate more synths, but this seemed to be only a short phase in their music. In Flames' lyrics have varied over the years as well. In some of their releases like 'The Jester Race', they seemed to talk about astrology and mankind. But in later albums such as 'Come Clarity' the band specifically sang about their personal issues and life problems.

In Flames were big influences to many metal bands. Darkest Hour, Slowlife and Trivium are amongst the few that name In Flames as a huge influence on their melodic death metal style.

Live reviews

I guess one could say me being a fan of In Flames all started out with a small Machina movie made about a game called Counter-Strike 1.6. In this movie, a song called "Free Fall" (obviously by IF) made me check out their music and over 10 years listening to IF I've become a hard core fan. I only recently got into checking out my favorite bands live, and having seen about 6 of 20, counting IF, this is the best live show of a metal band I've ever seen. First props goes out to 013 Tilburg for the awesome sound system. It was perfect. Deep bass, lots of treble, nice mid-tones and perfectly tuned. No ringing ears what-so-ever. And then, lemme tell ya, came in the lighting system. Best I have ever seen. They started out with a nice interlude to In Plain View, the curtain dropped as did my, and I assume everyone else's jaws. Brilliant, goosebumps invoking moment right there. Every single band member performed to near perfection, only downside was Anders (the singer, you dope) was a bit under the weather, sweating more than the rest and walking off stage to refresh himself for the next some. No biggy, the man rocked the house. In addition to other bands, Anders talked to the crowd on occasion. They aren't like the mainstream metal bands which I have seen - doin' there songs, payin' there dues, no comment and when it's done, it's done. Money in the bank, bye bye. No, Anders and honestly all members had a real connection with the crowd.

Best part was where Anders told us that filming was totally fine, but they assured us that they sounded lots better live than from a monitor. Totally true btw. One guy was pulled on stage since he profusely kept filming and he was allowed to tape the members doin' the epicness on-stage. Brilliant.

All in all, if IF come to your town or even close (say a range of 150km), pay them a visit as your night will surely be turned upside down, your pants with shiver from the deep bass Iwers produces, you will stand in awe of Gelotte's tight riffs and epic beard, Anders will scream your ears off, Engelin superb guitar play will make you want to play yourself and Svensson's drumming will keep your head bangin' all - night - long.

I have to mention one downside to make it a review, the lighting at times was a bit too much and as a fan of drummers, I was a bit disappointed that I couldn't see Svensson (the drummer) doin' his thing.

Epic show guys! ROCK ON.

Forget what you thought you knew about heavy metal in general, because as In Flames have spent the best part of twenty-five years proving, there actually is such a thing as melodic death metal. It’s commercially viable, too, with the Gothenburg outfit having shifted two million records over the course of their career to date; eleven records in, they’ve carved out a feverishly loyal cult fanbase, and continue to pack out their own shows the world over as well as provide support to some of the biggest bands in metal, too. Dreadlocked vocalist Anders Friden is one of the most recognisable frontmen in the genre, and it’s his energy that’s key to In Flames shows being the high-octane affairs they’ve long been known as. He rarely stays still, stalking the stage with genuine menace and he screeches through the likes of ‘Take This Life’ and ‘Rusted Nail’. Behind him, his four bandmates put on nightly masterclasses in technical proficiency; guitarists Bjorn Gelotte and Niclas Engelin, in particular, are amongst the most naturally-gifted players in metal. With a new record, Siren Charms, set for September, the band have lined up October dates in Manchester, Glasgow and London, as part of a wider European tour.

In Flames are a bizarrely varied live act. Gothenburg metal rockers are one of Sweden's most international rock outfits having sold over two million albums worldwide and the demand for their live show is equally great.

Over their 25 year career they have proved again and again that there is room for the melodic in the genre of metal. The gig sways between aggressive, thrashing renditions of 'Everything's Gone' and 'Fear is the Weakness' to lead singer Anders Fridén single handedly commanding the stage for anthemic singalong to 'Where the Dead Ships Dwell'.

The crowd is supportive either way, whether they are moshing against each other or swaying as one and singing at the top of their lungs. The band never short changes their fans, often playing sets of over twenty tracks in length with fan favourites such as 'The Quiet Place' being aired. A final, staggering rendition of 'Take This Life' has the crowd intently charging the stage as each band member gives 110% to their respective instruments and the applause at the finale are almost as huge.

As always In Flames delivers! Saw them earlier this year at the Filmore in Charlotte NC, but since they are my favorite band, wanted to see them again before they left the US. Loved the setlist and loved seeing them in a more intimate setting. My favorite moment was hearing Wallflower live. Had never heard it played and it is one of my many favorites. Great hearing older tunes, covering decades, like Colony and Behind Space, Where the Dead Ships Dwell and many more, plus songs from the newest CD. Loved the venue too. First time attending a show there, and I was very happy with my experience. Of course I'd be happy anywhere I could see In Flames perform!

With a three man string orchestra slowly playing the tunes of one of their hits, a guy starting a painting on an empty canvas. After that the band enters with one of their many hits, sadly with the mic turned off... after that problem is solved, the rest og the concert is flawless. Mixing acoustic songs and pure In flames style songs. Bringing an entire family up on stage.

At the end of the concert, the painting that was started on is finished, and auctioned away to highest bidder in audience. With the purpose og giving it all to charity.

Just a fantastic experience seeing these guys!

Cannot fault their performance, they played some classics and the customary new stuff which no one knew the words to. The light show was epic, a large LED backdrop with very cool imagery. I do feel a bit bad for them though, being the second warm up band it felt like the energy from the crowd just wasn't there as everyone was waiting for the headline act despite how hard he tried to get audience interaction, at one point you could literally see him get disheartened and give up abounding the end track with "we may be a sinking ship but 'we will always be there'"

Still one of the very best live!

Gr8 show, Anders was very engaging with the crowd and they played 4 old songs from The albums Lunar Strain, Jester Race, Whoracle and Colony!!!

That was unexpected but very welcomed.

They could have done without the songs Truth and This is Our House (not my faves)

The newer members of the band were good and the venue was good as well(you can see the band well from anywhere)

Overall a gr8 show and still a gr8 band(even though they're softer than yesteryear)

In Flames, Swedish Death Metal at it’s finest! They’ve been making great metal since the early nineties, it was a rare chance to see this band at such a small personal venue such as Gas Monkey Bar and Grill. They showed a lot of love for their fans, especially since we continued the moshing while it was pouring down rain! If you are a fan of death growls, heavy driving guitar riffs and awesome drumming with the occasional melodic tune, you won’t go wrong with In Flames!

great show as expected from In Flames. The only bad thing is that it was too short. 7 songs only is nothing and playing at 6pm when people is still on its route for the venue, leaving the place almost empty, it is definitely not so attractive for any band. In Flames deserves absolutely something more! I guess I will go somewhere in Europe in the following months to see them again in one of their full real gig of their tour!

IN FLAMES Announces 2024 US Tour Dates With GATECREEPER & CREEPING DEATH

Swedish metallers  In Flames  are set to infiltrate the U.S. for a spring headlining tour with special guests  Gatecreeper  and  Creeping Death . The skull-crushing lineup will kick off the excursion on May 1 in Portland, Maine, and will wrap it up on May 26 in Dallas, Texas.

Commenting on the tour,  In Flames  vocalist  Anders Fridén  says: “We are very excited to have these two killer bands,  GATECREEPER  and  CREEPING DEATH , on this run. I foresee a night of huge riffs, blast beats, headbanging, moshpitting, people losing their minds and more. Come on down, lets have a good time!!!”

Megadeth, Lamb of God, Trivium + In Flames Announce 2022 Leg of ‘Metal Tour of the Year’

The "Metal Tour of the Year" is back for a second time with a U.S. leg booked for the spring with co-headliners Megadeth and Lamb of God alongside special guests Trivium and In Flames .

The inaugural leg was originally set for 2020, but the pandemic forced a postponement until 2021 and the run finally got underway last summer, although Hatebreed were tabbed as the opener after In Flames announced they would not be able to make it.

Now, the original "Metal Tour of the Year" lineup will band together for a 23-date jaunt that will begin on April 9 in Las Vegas and wrap up on May 15 in Allentown, Pennsylvania after criss-crossing the country.

IN FLAMES and Nuclear Blast Records have announced exclusive anniversary vinyl re-issues of the band's beloved classic albums "Lunar Strain" (30th anniversary), "Colony" (25th anniversary), "Soundtrack To Your Escape" (20th anniversary) and "Siren Charms" (10th anniversary),all of which have been out of print and in high demand. The new editions are scheduled to be released on July 19, 2024.

2023 marked the beginning of a new era for IN FLAMES with the release of the band's fourteenth studio album "Foregone" — a new masterpiece from a band whose creative output changed the course and direction of modern metal. The year also marked the reissue of four seminal titles from the band's extensive catalog, namely "A Sense Of Purpose" (2008) (15th-anniversary edition), "Reroute To Remain" (2002), "Come Clarity" (2006) and "Sounds Of A Playground Fading" (2011).

To continue the upwards tide, 2024 marks the reissue of four more influential titles. The 2024 reissues feature all original art with a few, careful touch-ups. All releases have been re-mastered specific for vinyl by Justin Shturtz at the legendary Sterling Sound Studio in Nashville, Tennessee. Featuring different colorways, all records will be pressed on heavyweight 180g vinyl and will feature the instantly recognizable etching of the Jesterhead logo on side D (ex. "Lunar Strain" and "Colony" ).

IN FLAMES has extensive touring plans for 2024, with a full U.S. tour with GATECREEPER and CREEPING DEATH just around the corner and a European tour with ARCH ENEMY and SOILWORK in the autumn.

In a recent interview with Rolling Stone India , Anders Fridén , frontman of Swedish melodic metallers IN FLAMES , spoke about the band's latest three additions: Tanner Wayne on drums, Chris Broderick on guitar and Liam Wilson on bass. Asked what it is like bringing different people into the band, even if it's just for the touring lineup, Anders said: "All the guys that you mentioned — Tanner and Chris and Liam — are in the band, so it's not just hired people. They are part of the band, but it's Björn [ Gelotte , IN FLAMES guitarist] and me that write the music and arrange it. That's what we do and it will not change. But the guys are very important to us and I think the way we sound live, we never sounded better.

"I don't mean that to be disrespectful to anyone who has ever been in the band, but these are really professional musicians and very skilled at what they do, and they all come from different backgrounds," he continued. " Tanner comes from a more hardcore punkish era, and Chris , obviously, with his history of being in NEVERMORE and JAG PANZER and MEGADETH … him we've known for more than 20 years. We were friends way before we thought about of him being in the band. It's been great to have him and him and Björn really jell together and they play a lot of guitar. I've never seen Björn play this much guitar, and I think Chris is a big part of that.

" Liam came in this last summer because [previous IN FLAMES bassist] Bryce [ Paul ] left us kind of abruptly," Anders explained. "We're still friends, so it's no bad blood whatsoever. But he had to focus on family and we had a festival booked in Europe, so we had to do something. And then, obviously, I know of DILLINGER [ ESCAPE PLAN ] from before and we met here and there, but we were not friends at all, so I didn't really know him. But our manager said, 'I think this would be a great fit for you.' He knew him way better than us and he came in and after meeting him for an hour, we were like best buddies. He's awesome and he's great and he fits in the band really well. He's a little bit older. He's not a young kid. He has a family. He has so much experience from the road, so it's a perfect fit. And he's a great guy on stage and off stage, and that's very important. And I need to say that because we play an hour, one and a half hours every other day. So that's what happens on stage. But off stage is also extremely important, how you are and how you behave and how you are socially, how you interact with each other. There's so much fun and there's no tension in the van, everybody's laughing and having a good time. Whenever someone needs to walk away a little bit and be on their own, it's totally cool. Nobody bothers you. So I am very happy to be part of this band right now. It's a good feeling after so many years, as I said before, still feel the vibe, especially after the pandemic and everything that happened. We got back together and we are able to do this. It's awesome."

"Foregone" was the second IN FLAMES album with Paul and Wayne , the first with Broderick , and the third with Grammy -winning producer Howard Benson ( MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE , THREE DAYS GRACE ). Mike Plotnikoff ( ALL THAT REMAINS , WARBRINGER ) engineered at Benson 's West Valley Recording Studios . Joe Rickard ( 10 YEARS , STARSET , DIAMANTE ),who played drums for IN FLAMES from 2016 through 2019, handled mixing duties.

Wilson made his live debut with IN FLAMES on June 7, 2023 at the Release Athens festival in Athens, Greece.

A married dad was killed when his small plane crashed in a ritzy Georgia neighborhood — with shocking images showing it in flames just feet from a mansion.

Jason McKenzie, 45, died when his single-engine Beechcraft Bonanza A36 crashed on the front lawn of a sprawling home in Augusta — with first responders praising him for appearing to have maneuvered it to avoid hitting homes, WRDW reported .

The broken plane burst into flames just feet from the home, amazingly without injuring anyone on the ground.

“I think that was a miracle,” neighbor Lisa Lewis said. “I think the Lord protected everyone else.”

McKenzie, the associate director of philanthropy at Augusta University, leaves behind a wife and young son, WRDW said.

He had just taken off from nearby Daniel Field Airport on his way to Connecticut and had made it to 625 feet before his plane plummeted to the ground, according to the report.

First responders credited McKenzie with maneuvering his plane in order to avoid causing more injuries on the ground.

“It’s very fortunate that this airplane didn’t hit a house,” National Transportation Safety Board investigator Ralph Hicks told WRDW.

The left wingtip from the plane remained stuck in a tree for several hours before firefighters were able to remove it around 5 p.m., the outlet added.

Lewis, the neighbor, said she was waking her son up for school when she heard the plane go down.

“We hear planes all the time because we live close to Daniel Field, but this time it was way louder than normal, and it got louder and louder and it just sounded like it was right outside the window,” she told WRDW. 

“A few seconds later, you kind of heard some sort of rustling kind of crash and then a loud banging pop sound.”

McKenzie was headed to New Haven, Conn., at the time of the crash.

The crash is under investigation by the National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Aviation Administration told the outlet.

K-pop girl group VIVIZ have teased their upcoming 2024 ‘V.hind: Love and Tears’ world tour with the announcement of their new Seoul concerts.

Today (May 2), VIVIZ announced the dates for their upcoming Seoul concerts, which will be held on June 1 and 2 at the KBS Arena. According to a newly released poster, the two shows will be part of their 2024 ‘V.hind: Love and Tears’ world tour.

The K-pop girl group have yet to reveal more details about their upcoming world tour, but more information is expected in the coming months. Keep tabs on this page for the latest updates.

VIVIZ’s upcoming 2024 ‘V.hind: Love and Tears’ world tour will be their first-ever solo tour since the trio made their debut in 2022. The girl group had previously made appearances in K-pop festivals such as KCON, WeBridge and more.

Last November, the trio also scored went viral with their hit single ‘Maniac’ , from their fourth mini-album ‘Versus’. Album cut ‘Untie’ was also named one of the best K-pop songs of 2023 by  NME .

New Edition's Las Vegas residency is still going strong through 2024, though only a few tour dates remain. Luckily, the iconic music group has added additional tour dates and there are a few different ways to buy New Edition tickets.

New Edition began their residency at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas in February, with their stay ultimately being extended through November. After their original six shows, New Edition added two more legs for this year for a total of 10 more concert dates. Performing on their 2024 concert tour are group members Bobby Brown, Ralph Tresvant, Johnny Gill, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe, who sing their classic hits like "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "If It Isn't Love."

New Edition 2024 tour schedule

All six members of New Edition are returning for the remainder of the group's Las Vegas residency, which kicks off on July 3. It features seven shows from July 3 to July 13 in Las Vegas, with the third leg picking back up for three additional concert dates in October and November.

The group is also appearing at the Cincinnati Music Festival in July.

Tickets can also be purchased from verified resale vendors like StubHub and Vivid Seats . You may have better luck with the variety of seating options and availability on resale sites compared to the original tickets still left.

It's also important to note that New Edition's shows at the Encore Theater in Las Vegas only permit concertgoers ages 18 and up — so be sure to bring your ID to get into the group's residency performances.

How much are New Edition's tickets?

Given the high demand for the group's remaining Las Vegas residency shows, tickets to see New Edition in 2024 are relatively expensive. Furthermore, ticket prices vary depending on each show's concert date and demand. Resale ticket prices are comparable to or cheaper than original ticket costs.

The cheapest original ticket prices on Ticketmaster begin at $175 for New Edition's Las Vegas shows on October 30 and November 1. Who is opening for New Edition's tour?

New Edition does not have any opening acts for their tour. Once the showtime begins in Las Vegas, the R&B group will be the ones to come onstage.
