IRCTC announces Bharat Darshan special tourist train from January 7-19

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) has announced a ‘Bharat Darshan’ special tourist train which would enable travellers to learn much about India’s glorious heritage and culture. Passengers on the train would be taken to some major destinations in the country at an affordable fare. The upcoming service of the special tourist train is from January 7-19, 2022 and the fare is Rs 13,000 per person.

Visiting sites The Bharat Darshan train will start from Madurai and take travellers to Mysuru, Hampi, Hyderabad, Ramoji Film City, Mumbai, Ellora, Ajanta, Statue of Unity and Goa. On the way, passengers can board the train from Tirunelveli, Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod and Mangaluru.

Mysuru Departing at 12.05 am on January 7, the train will reach Mysuru by January 8 morning. At Mysuru, travellers can enjoy the sights of Chamundi Hills, Mysore Palace, Brindavan Gardens and KRS Dam on the first day.

IRCTC to run four pilgrim special trains from Feb

On January 9, the tour covers Srirangapatnam, Tipu’s Tomb, Summer Palace, Zoo and St. Philomena’s Church. Leaving Mysuru that night, the train will head to Hampi.

Hampi, Hyderabad On January 10, travellers can spend time at the ruins of the Vijayanagar empire at Hampi before resuming their journey in the evening.

Heading to Hyderabad, the programme on January 11 is Ramoji Film City. Golconda, Salar Jung Museum and Charminar would be covered the next day.

Mumbai, Ellora and Ajanta Travellers would wake up on the train on January 13 in the mega city of Mumbai. That day, they can visit Marine Drive, Juhu Beach, Malabar Hill and Gateway of India. Later that day, the train would take them to Aurangabad. Arriving next day, the attractions are the Ellora caves. On January 15, the scheduled destination is Ajanta caves.

Ekta statue Subsequently, the special train would be taking its passengers to Kevadia, where the world’s tallest statue is located, on January 16. From the railway station, battery-operated buses have been arranged to ferry travellers to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.

After visiting the Ekta statue (Statue of Unity) of Patel, the travellers will board the train for the journey to Goa. The train is scheduled to arrive at Madgaon station in the coastal state by the night of January 17.

Goa The main attractions of the tour in Goa on January 18 are Calangute Beach, Vagator, Se Cathedral and Bom Jesus Basilica. A boat cruise along the Mandovi river and a visit to Colva beach would be arranged if time permits.

Return trip The special train’s return trip is scheduled to start from Goa on the night of January 18, to reach the last stop, Madurai by midnight on January 19.

Things to note The trip will be conducted following all COVID-19 protocols. All arrangements for the journey, including food and accommodation of the travellers, will be made by IRCTC. Detailed instructions are available on the IRCTC website.

Stops in Kerala The special Bharat Darshan train will stop at the following stations in Kerala: Thiruvananthapuram Central, Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam Town, Thrissur, Shoranur, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod. More information on Bharat Darshan could be obtained directly from IRCTC’s regional office in Ernakulam, Thiruvananthapuram Central railway station and Kozhikode railway station.

The tour package includes hall accommodation at places of night stay or morning freshening up, tourist buses for passengers visiting sightseeing spots, pure vegetarian meals, security arrangements for each coach (without arms), tour escorts for announcements and information as well as an IRCTC official on the train as train superintendent.

As per the cancellation policy of the Bharat Darshan tour package, an amount of Rs 100 will be deducted per passenger, if the ticket cancellation is done up to 15 days. While 25 percent of the total package cost will be deducted if the ticket cancellation is done up to 8 to 14 days and 50 percent of the total package cost will be deducted if the cancellation is done up to 4 to 7 days. No refund will be given if the ticket cancellation is done in less than 4 days.

IRCTC offers ‘Bharat Darshan' tour package only for Rs 11340; Check route and other details

New Delhi: The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is offering ‘Bharat Darshan’ (Splendors of India) tour package which will begin on August 29 and end on September 10. The special 11 nights/12 days package will cost Rs 11,340 per adult. For this tour package, IRCTC will operate a “Bharat Darshan Special Tourist Train".

The train will cover various destinations including Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Nishkalank Mahadev Sea Temple in Bhavnagar, Amritsar, Jaipur and Statue of Unity. As per the IRCTC Tourism website, Bharat Darshan package is one of the most affordable, all-inclusive tour packages. All the important tourist places in the country will be covered by the special train.

Those who want to book the Bharat Darshan tour package can book it by visiting the IRCTC website. Interested people can also visit IRCTC Tourist Facilitation Centre, Zonal Offices, and Regional Offices as well to book their tickets. The journey of the tourists will be covered by sleeper class. 

Travel insurance and sanitization kits will be provided to the tourists. The local transportation expenses, entrance fee for monuments, boating charges, service of tourist guide will have to be borne by tourists on their own.

IRCTC Tourism is running a ‘Bharat Darshan’ special tourist train for a nine nights, ten days tour package to spiritual places across the country. The special train starts the ‘Bharat Darshan’ tour from 2nd September, 2019 from Rajkot. The tour package covers Puri, Allahabad, Jasidih, Gangasagar, Kolkata and Varanasi.

The Bharat Darshan tour package costs Rs. 9,450/- for sleeper class and Rs. 11,550/- for 3AC inclusive of per person. No fare is applicable for children below 5 years of age and children of age 5 years and above are entitled to pay the full adult fare. The tour in Odisha covers Shri Jagannath temple of Puri, an important Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Jagannath, a form of lord Maha Vishnu, located on the eastern coast of India. The package in Odisha also includes a visit to the Konark temple, the temple complex has the appearance of a 100-foot (30 m) high chariot with immense wheels and horses, all carved from stone.

The train arrives in Puri on September 4, 2019 at 06:00 hours. Tourists shall visit the famous Jagannath temple and then stay overnight at Puri. Konark temple and the Lingaraj temple in Bhubaneswar will be covered the next day, followed by a train journey towards Kolkata in the evening at 19:00 hours. On September 6, 2019 the tour arrives at Kolkata at 07:00 hours and proceeds towards Gangasagar. The next day involves a visit to the Kali temple in Kolkata and departure towards Jasidih. On September 8, 2019, the train arrives at Jasidih and tourists shall move to a dharamshala for a quick rest. In Jasidih, tourists will get to visit to Baidnath Dham Jyotirlinga and move towards Varanasi. On September 9, 2019, the tour arrives in Varanasi where tourists can visit the Vishwanath temple and then depart for Allahabad (Prayagraj). In Allahabad the following day, a trip to the Triveni Sangam of the Ganga, Yamuna and the mythical Saraswati is scheduled along with a visit to Hanuman Garhi. IRCTC to begin special Bharat Darshan Tourist train from 8 October; check tour package, other details here

Anand Kumar Jha, the IRCTC Public Relations Officer (PRO), revealed that the main objective to run this train is to help people explore beautiful historical and devotional places in North India.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) is all set to begin a special Bharat Darshan Tourist train from 8 October. This special train will run from Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa station to places including Haridwar, Rishikesh, Agra, Mathura, Amritsar, and Vaishno Devi Shrine.

IRCTC is introducing this train and providing this service in a bid to promote religious tourism in the country. Anand Kumar Jha, the IRCTC Public Relations Officer (PRO), revealed that the main objective to run this train is to help people explore beautiful historical and devotional places in North India.

“The eight nights and nine days tour has been designed keeping in mind the interest of every kind of traveller, who loves fun with devotion and visit old traditional cities of India,” Jha claimed .

In this special Bharat Darshan Tourist train, a boarding facility will be available to all passengers from Rewa as well as Satna, along with other stations including Narsinghpur, Itarsi, Hoshangabad, Katni, Jabalpur, Habibganj, Vidisha, Bina, Jhansi, and Ganj Basoda stations to provide easy access and comfort.

Jha also stated that IRCTC has also decided the tour price which starts from Rs 8,505 per person for sleeper class and Rs 10,395 per person for 3AC tire. Passengers, who board this train, will be provided breakfast, lunch, and dinner along with lodging in hotels or dharamshalas as well as tourist bus service as per the tour package.

As passengers will be traveling amid the pandemic, the IRCTC team will take care of all protocols and measures related to hygiene and health during the entire journey. Along with that IRCTC will also ensure a safe experience by maintaining social distance at all times.

People, who are interested, should note that those who are seeking to book this journey, will have to carry a mandatory certificate of both processes of COVID vaccine. However, the age limit for every passenger must be 18 years and above.

For the uninitiated, the Bharat Darshan is a joint venture and project of Indian Railways and the Ministry of Tourism and Culture . From time to time, the concerned team organises the world’s cheapest tour packages for passengers.

आईआरसीटीसी के अनुसार, राम जन्मभूमि दर्शन टूर पैकेज की अवधि 9 रात और 10 दिन है। इसी पैकेज के मुताबिक एक टिकट की कीमत 9450 रुपए है। यात्री को भारत दर्शन स्पेशल टूरिस्ट ट्रेन में स्लीपर डिब्बों में यात्रा करने की सुविधा दी जाएगी।

IRCTC offers 11-day tour package for religious spots, check details here

Indian Railways has announced a new tour package for major religious places across central India.

The IRCTC Shirdi and Jyotirlinga tour, costing Rs 18,450 per person for standard and Rs 29,620 for comfort category, will cover Mahakaleshwar and Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga in Ujjain, Dwarikadhish Mandir and Nageshwar Jyotirlinga in Dwarika, Somnath Jyotirlinga in Somnatha and Shirdi Sai and Trimbakeshwar Jyotirlinga in Manmad in 11 days and 10 nights.

Three meals and night stay are included in the package.

The Railways has put on track “Swadesh Darshan Train”, having both AC and non-AC coaches, for the journey, beginning from October 10 to 20 from Darbhnaga and bookings can be made both through the online and offline mode.

As per the itinerary, there will be a two-day stay at Ujjain from October 12 to 14, one-day at Somnath on 15th, two-day at Dwarika from 16th to 17th and one-day each in Shirdi and Nashik on October 18 and 19.

Last month, IRCTC had announced another 18-day ‘Shri Ramayana Yatra’ through a “Special Bharat Gaurav” tourist train from June 21. It will cover the places associated with the life of Lord Rama and also connect India and Nepal.

It will cover Ayodhya, Nandigram, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Shringaverpur, Chitrakoot, Nasik, Hampi, Rameshwaram, Kanchipuram and Bhadrachalam.

The Railways, since the past few years, have been bringing out religious tourist packages to promote cultural and religious places in the country.

The Bharat Darshan tour package costs Rs.10,395/- (3 AC class) per person and Rs. 8,505/- (Sleeper class) per person, which is inclusive of providing travel by train in 3AC class/ 2nd Class Sleeper coach, Besides it, the cost is inclusive of following:

1. Hall accommodation at places of night stay/ morning freshening up. 2. Pure vegetarian meals. 3. Tourist buses for visiting sightseeing spots. 4. Tour escorts for announcements and information. 5. Security arrangements for each coach (without arms). 6. An IRCTC Official on train as Train Superintendent.

Other Instruction:-

• Train departure timings from the boarding stations along with the coach/seat no. will be informed 1-2 days prior to the date of journey. Passengers can contact the IRCTC Offices for the train timing and the coach/seat no.
• Tour programme is subject to change, any Alteration/Cancellation can be done under unexpected circumstances.
• Passenger should get full briefing about the tour from IRCTC before/after the booking to avoid any confusion.
• We are not responsible for any sort of Expenses of Personal Nature, (including extra fees of monuments) Porterage Service, Natural Calamity, Theft, Accidents, any Loss or damages caused during the tour.
• Entrance fees/darshan tickets and guide charges at monuments are not included in the package cost. Own arrangements to be made for this.

• Medical Fitness: Senior Citizens above 69 Years must carry a Medical Declaration of “FIT TO TRAVEL” from an authorized medical Doctor.
• Kindly queue up while boarding the buses and don’t rush at the accommodation centre. It is the duty of the co-passengers to provide seats first for the Handicapped and older people. Please do not request our representative for blocking any seat.
• You should adhere to the time announced by the Tour Representatives. Failing which you will have to come to the next destination on your own expenses.
• While traveling, there might be some delay in providing food, so old people & diabetic passengers may carry some refreshments.
• Please keep yourself patient and calm during the tour journey and speak politely to all other tourists, staffs and officers on duty. Avoid any unlawful arguments and disquieting the beauty of tour programme.
• There may be changes in sightseeing that may be caused due to situations which may arise & the same has to be adhered to.
• You should carry an Identity Card (Aadhar card, Voter Card, Driving License, Pan Card, Passport or any Govt. Identity Card) and one recent passport-size colored photograph while traveling; this is for verification when needed.
• In case of any problem arising due to some natural calamity or abnormal situation, alternate arrangements will be made for which extra cost is to be borne by the tourists.
• The passengers will have to bear all medical expenses incurred on them, if need arises.
• Please carry your own bedding, regular medicines, doctor’s prescriptions & contact number, torch, umbrella, lock & chain for securing luggage, nylon rope for drying clothes, and water bottle to stock drinking water.
• IRCTC also assumes the absolute right to cancel any tour or travel arrangements any time without prior notice and without assigning any reason thereof if it feels that is in the best interest of the Tourist and the overall itinerary schedule.

Church domes are visible like mushrooms from anywhere and everywhere in the town like in a fairy tale. No wonder Suzdal is called the ‘Town Museum”.  It is definitely worth visiting!
