A MUST DO tour for the true Fun Adventurer! This tour showcases the beauty of Pure Grenada in a fun and exciting way from start to finish aboard our unique, open-back 4 x 4 jeeps that affords you a 360° panoramic view. Travel up the scenic eastern coastline on to the town of Grenville the first part of this tour taking in some of the sights and sounds of the Spice Isle. Stops at the well known Westerhall Estate, the historic Battle Hill, the preparation and sampling of sea eggs and/or sea moss (seasonal) will have you immersed in the rich history and culture of the island. Get off the main road for a short trek through some of the eastern villages to get a glimpse of their way of life.

From the town of Grenville the tour moves deep inland to the Clabone Sulphur Pond, getting off the main roads and trekking through the dense undergrowth on the way in, sampling freshly picked fruits, and gaining some local knowledge of the flora and fauna, revealing unique and refreshing streams on the way up to the Pond. Once there a swim in the warm water will leave your skin and body feeling revitalized. You can even sample the natural ‘soda water’ from a nearby flow.

From here it gets even better! Downward and onward through villages to the Balthazar River for the ride of your life on the currents of Grenada’s ‘Great River’. Wet, wild and wonderful from the word go!! Our skilled guides will accompany and entertain you on the journey, as you gently spin and swirl in the currents of the river. Take in the exotic scenery of tropical vegetation on this thrilling ride down the river, stopping only in the pools along the way to be entertained while you catch a breath. Then finally at the last pool, an opportunity for a swim before you enjoy a much deserved Rum or Fruit Punch.

After so much fun and excitement on the river, climb back aboard the jeeps and bring down your heart rate with a relaxing drive through the rolling but scenic hills of the Grand Etang Forest Reserve for a brief photo stop at the Grand Etang Welcome Center where you might be lucky to catch a glimpse of the popular Mona monkey. From there continue on through villages with more fantastic views and photo opportunities to ensure you have wonderful memories to take with you.

• This is a fully guided tour.
• Reservation is required for this tour.
• Tour vehicles are equipped with USB charging port for cameras and mobile phones. Chargers are not available.
• On-board refreshment including seasonal fruits available.
• Children under 5 years are not charged. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
• Operating Minimum: 4 passengers per tour.
• This tour may be unsuitable for the physically challenged and persons with neck, back and heart conditions.
• Tours may be cancelled due to weather conditions at short notice. This is totally beyond the control of the staff of Funtastic Island Adventures.
• All guests will be required to sign a liability waiver prior to the start of the tour.

What to bring:

• Please wear comfortable/loose clothing that will facilitate climbing in and out of the jeep without problems.
• Please bring a towel and change of clothes.
• Please wear swim suit/trunks or clothing that can get wet.
• Please avoid white where possible as the possibility of staining from the Sulphur pond increases with this colour.
• Please bring/wear comfortable shoes suitable for a short walk to the Sulphur Pond. Sneakers or other sturdy, closed toe shoes are recommended. Sandals with straps or heels should not be used.
• Hats, caps, Sun bloc and repellant may also be desirable.

I am writing this review because our tour guide Eldon was fantastic. He made us feel extremely safe driving on the roads and brought us to a lot of good spots. He also gave us great information about the island and the places we were driving through. This made the excursion extra special. We did a half day tour but he brought us to a beautiful spot for a picture that he said they dont usually get to on the half day tour but we had time. We loved visiting Granada and I can’t imagine having not done this. We will 100% return and do another tour with island routes in Granada in the future. Thanks Eldon.

The excursion really was a lot of fun. We regularly tube down the Chattahoochee in Georgia, USA, so I thought it would be pretty much the same. The biggest difference is that on the Chattahoochee, you don't have guides there constantly assisting and lining you up for the best position for each rapid. The excursion itself was not difficult or scary, however the bus ride to and from the river was not very pleasant at all. It was crowded and honestly frightening! That was really the only negative for us on this excursion..

Fabulous tour! It was much more extensive than advertised. We also toured the perimeter of the island which included sea sites and small towns and a stop at a spice shop and tavern in the Etang Forest. The tubing and stop at the hot springs were great. Beetle was a super great tour guide! He was also very knowledgeable in pointing out various fruit and hardwood trees.

The only downside to this tour is the 45 minute bus ride each way from the Sandals resort. The time on the river is about 45 minutes and is worth it. The scenery is absolutely gorgeous. The guides work very hard at guiding you through the rapids. The river was low when we went and our guides RJ and Magic walked and floated along with us. This river is very rocky but the photos are magnificent if you can keep your camera dry. RJ and Magic sang songs and kept us entertained the whole time. I highly recommend this tour it was wonderful.

Hubs and I really enjoyed this tour/excursion. We were picked up at our Sandals resort and taken on a very short ride to the office. The man in the office (so sorry can't remember his name) was very nice and informative. He told us what to expect. Clievon was our guide and we loved him! So fun and nice and knowledgeable. You WILL drive the dune buggy through the rain forest but you also spend a lot of time on the main roads. You need to be very alert and follow your guide at all times. They drive on the left side of the road in Grenada and there are a lot of hairpin turns. Don't let this be a deciding factor though. The ride is super fun and you will get very dirty. The waterfall is absolutely gorgeous but also public. There are plenty of locals hanging around ready to ask for cash. Yes this is a very bumpy ride so not for anyone with back issues. I wore my crappy bathing suit and a coverup with aqua socks. Muddy water was coming in from the bottom of the dune buggy so we were very happy that we didn't wear sneakers. I brought a zip up bag to put things that we didn't want ruined in such as..bathing suit cover up, cell phone and towels. Yes, you can swim in the waterfall it was a highlight. Remember to tip your guides. And say Hi to the monkey at the waterfall.

Chartered a private yacht for half a day to see the coast and the local sites. Rohan and the Captain were great! Incredibly accommodating, full of stories, and always aiming to please! For cancellations by Guests, cancellation charges depend on when Island Routes receives notice of the cancellation. Minimum cancellation charges are as follows:

Hotel Guests:

24 hours or less: No Refund

48 hours or less: 50% Cancellation Fee

96 hours or less: 25% Cancellation Fee

96+ hours: Full Refund

Shore Excursions:

96 hours or more: Full Refund

Less than 96 hours: No Refund

60 days prior to tour date: Full Refund

45 days prior to tour date: 50% Cancellation Fee

30 days prior to tour date: 75% Cancellation fee

Less than 30 days prior to tour date: No Refund

All cancellations of, or changes are subject to applicable restrictions. Island Routes Tours will apply any payments made toward the purchase price against any cancellation charges and will refund any balance remaining after the payment of any charges. In order to receive a refund, if applicable, client must request and receive a cancellation confirmation number. The cancellation charges outlined above are liquidated damages and not a penalty. Holiday periods may be subject to additional cancellation charges. NO REFUNDS OR ADJUSTMENTS WILL BE MADE FOR ANY PORTION OF TOUR OR ATTENDANT SERVICES NOT UTILIZED.

Refund Policy: No refunds or adjustments will be made for any portion of your tour not utilized.

Changes to Reservations: All requested changes to reservations are subject to Island Routes' sole discretion, and any changes must be approved in writing.

BANK & CREDIT CARD FEES

Some banks and credit cards impose fees for cross-border transactions. Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, do not operate the tours, and for these purposes, the Operators of tours are independent contractors. The Operators of tours are solely responsible for their acts and omissions and Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, assume no responsibility for such acts and omissions, or for any injury, loss, damage, sickness or accidents sustained on any of the tours offered for sale , including but not limited to any that occur on and/or during the tour, as well as before and after as part of and/or during transport to/from the tour ‐ again, to the exclusion of tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours. Without any exclusion, however, Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, shall not assume any responsibility for injury, loss or damage to any person that voluntarily participates in cliff diving at any location, including but not limited to Dunn's River Falls or Rick's Café, and/or to any person who voluntarily stops as part of and/or during transport to/from a tour at an unintended destination, meaning one that is separate and apart from the scheduled tour and/or destination. Please note, for your safety, Guest will not be allowed to participate in helicopter tours and/or transfers if they have undertaken any diving exercise within 24hrs prior to departure of said tour/transfer.

LIMITATION OF DAMAGES

Guest HEREBY ACKNOWLEDGES AND AGREES that Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, and the hotel, their parent corporation, affiliates, subsidiaries, insurers, directors, officers, employees, successors, assigns, agents or representatives, SHALL NOT BE LIABLE to Guest for liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense in any circumstances, for: (A) ANY PERSONAL INJURIES OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY ANY ACT OR OMISSION ON THE PART OF ANY Guest(s) and/or Operators of tours, excluding tours identified as being owned by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours; (B) EMOTIONAL DISTRESS, MENTAL SUFFERING, OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY OF ANY KIND; OR (C) ANY CONSEQUENTIAL, INCIDENTAL, PUNITIVE OR EXEMPLARY DAMAGES. This specifically includes but is not limited to liabilities, claims, actions, damages, cost or expense ARISING OUT OF OR CAUSED BY food or drink consumed at third party facilities belonging to third party Operators of tours.

SPECIAL REQUESTS

Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that it will satisfy special requests and we are not responsible if such requests are not met.

PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES

Persons with Disabilities: Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours cannot guarantee that transfer vehicles or tour sites are wheelchair accessible. However, if informed, we will endeavor to make the necessary arrangements. This may however come at an additional cost.

The undersigned Guest(s) irrevocably consents to and authorizes the use and reproduction by Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes, or anyone authorized by Island Routes, of any and all photographic, video and other visual portrayal(s) of the undersigned Guest(s), their child or ward, for any purpose whatsoever, including but not limited to use in magazines, brochures, flyers, television, internet, and websites displays without further reference or compensation. All rights, title and interest therein (including all worldwide copyrights therein) shall be the sole property of Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes, or anyone authorized by Island Routes, free from any claims by the undersigned Guest(s) and or any person deriving any rights or interest from such Guest, AND each undersigned Guest(s) UNDERSTANDS AND HEREBY KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY SO AGREES.

Guest is responsible for knowing, obeying and complying with the laws and regulations of their destination, and neither Sunisland Routes and/or Island Routes Tours, nor any Tour Supplier, nor the hotel, has any duty to inform or warn Guest about the destination's laws and/or regulations.
