Mike and Tammy were my guides, and were professional and fun. Both were very knowledgeable about the plants and animals that live in this environment. I got to see tons of wildlife and learned so much about the mangroves, birds, and underwater animals. Tammy took great pictures, which were emailed to me after the tour. We got to see manatees and dolphins. We were actually followed by dolphins for a short time. Come spend a day on the water where we experience frequent sightings and close encounters of dolphin and manatee. it is a great location for all ages and it’s protected waters provide a safe environment for paddling. we offer both kayak tours and kayak rentals at this location., terra ceia bay in bradenton, explore the mangrove tunnel trails of terra ceia preserve. sea turtles, dolphins and manatees are just a few of the amazing creatures we may see. this location offers a longer pedal kayak adventure for those looking to get away from the crowds and explore areas that are not frequented by many people. we only offer kayak tours at this location., lemon bay in englewood, spend a relaxing day on the water as we pedal around pristine mangrove islands and white sand beaches. take a dip with us at stump pass and search for fossilized shark teeth. we only offer kayak tours at this location, anna maria island, explore the mangrove tunnel trails just outside of anna maria island. this location offers a beautiful paddle through luscious sea-grass beds and twisted mangrove tunnels. we offer both kayak tours and kayak rentals at this location., deliveries and specific requests, we also deliver pedal kayaks for multi-day rentals and if there is a specific location you would like to explore you can give us a call at 941-306-1220.

• How Long is the Tour? Depending on the location you choose, the length of your tour will vary. Our tours that launch from Bird Key Park and in Anna Maria are roughly 2 hours long. Our tour in Terra Ceia Bay in Bradenton will last about 3 hours.
• What Should We Bring? Water, Sunscreen, Hat, Sunglasses and Shoes that can worn in the water (flip-flops will work)
• What Do We Provide? Map, Dry Bags, Life Preservers (PFDs), and top quality pedal kayaks!
• Are there Restroom Facilities? Our locations at Bird Key Park and Anna Maria Island do not have restrooms available. Our location in Terra Ceia Bay in Bradenton does have restrooms available.
• Where is Your Exact Location Within the Site? This varies depending on which location you choose. Our kayak trailer has a Liquid Blue Outfitters sign standing next to it.

Recommendations:

• Towels for the car
• A change of clothes if you plan on going anywhere afterwards
• Always eat before you go paddling as you’ll burn lots of calories paddling in the sun and you need energy.
• Show up hydrated.
• Avoid heavy drinking the evening prior to your paddling trip.  We’ve had many guests that struggle with hydration after an evening out.
• If you’re enjoying the beach and other outdoor activities remember your sunscreen.  Sunburn can make other outdoor activities unbearable afterwards.

Everything You Need

Services include all water sports equipment and safety equipment needed. As well as all kayaking accessories, such as dry bags and waterproof phone cases. Before kayaking, our staff reviews a paddling map of the area.  Additionally, our guides and staff will provide you with water safety information.  During a kayaking land lesson, you can expect to learn about boating lanes, paddling hazards, and tips for padding.

Important Recommendations for Paddling with Medical Conditions

Additionally SUP Englewood recommends guided tours with a certified instructor in water safety for anyone with a medical diagnosis that poses a safety risk while on the water.

For example, medical conditions include:

• Hypoglycemia
• Seizure disorders
• History of fainting
• Insect Allergies

What is pedal kayaking.

A pedal kayak is a kayak that is powered by a pedal mechanism instead of a standard paddle. In other words, it's like a combination of a bicycle and a kayak! This advancement in kayak technology allows us to travel further and faster than we would be able to on "old-school" traditional kayaks. The best part is, these can easily transition to traditional kayaks when we reach areas that are too shallow to use the pedals. It's the best of both worlds!

The pedal kayaks we use are Old Town (Ocean Kayak) Salty PDL Kayaks. They are extremely quick, comfortable and feature a robust design. These are single-person kayaks but an additional seat can be installed in the back compartment for a young child to come along.

Sunset Happy Hour Tours

Join us on an after hours sunset tour with our sister company Liquid Blue Outfitters. These tours feature complimentary beverages from local Sarasota and Manatee county breweries! These tours run Friday evening through Monday evening from 4pm to 6pm. Each day features brews from a different local brewery:

Using high-end, foot powered pedal kayaks allows us to reach our destinations quickly and with less effort than traditional kayaks. When the water becomes too shallow, these kayaks are easily converted to traditional "paddle" style kayaks, so we don't damage delicate ecosystems. These pedal kayaks are also just plain fun and super maneuverable!

We offer guests amazing opportunities to get in the water too! Hop in for a cool-down session and see what you can spot with a dive mask and snorkel. Depending on skill level and desired experience, we will show you fantastic snorkeling spots that match your needs. This allows you to see things that might otherwise be overlooked from a kayak on the surface.

Our signature products are the Daytime Island & Mangrove Tunnel Adventures where we often see Dolphins and Manatees and our Glass Bottom Kayak LED illuminated fish feeding Night Tours where we use high powered underwater LED lights to illuminate the sea floor and attract sea-life. We also feed fish on our LED night tours and we’ve trained them to follow us at some locations making you feel like a “fish whisperer” while exploring under the stars with friends, family, or someone special.

FUN EVENING ON THE WATER!

This was so much fun! They provide everything you need to have a great time. I went solo and have kayaked many times before. The catfish you feed are everywhere and there is a ton of other wildlife to enjoy along the way to the bridge. There is a phone number you call in to, to be able to hear the guide talk the entire time. I brought my headphones to listen. Its kayaking and you will get wet.

The experience was great! Absolutely 10/10. The guides were fun and had some great commentary and knowledge on the area and sea life. The water was calm and not being in the sun was a big plus for me. Getting to see through the kayak is so fun we got to see so much! If family comes out here again I’d definitely go again! If you’re thinking about booking this let this be the review that tells you DO IT! You won’t regret it. I made memories I’ll carry forever.

This was the best part of our trip! So much fun! Call ahead for reservations, well in advance. We had 5 nights on our trip and I called as soon as we arrived in St. Pete, and they only had an opening on our last night. I was worried since we had little to none kayak experience, but we did fine. The tour guide was excellent. We mainly saw catfish, but we found a few different types of crabs and the tour guide pulled them out for anyone who wanted to hold. Weather was perfect! We highly recommend. It is a must do!

Fun Date! The weather was perfect. The water was very calm and it was a peaceful evening on the water with no mosquitos either. You go slowly enough that you do not need to be in shape to paddle. The people helping you in the kayak are patient and kind and keep you dry. It was so fun to feed the fish and actually touch them when they came to the surface. The bottoms of the boat are not glass, but plastic. You mostly see the fish beside your boat, not underneath, but it was a worthwhile, laid back tour all ages would enjoy!
