KTVU Featuring Santa Clara for a “Zip Trip,” Wants Feedback on Best Sites in the Mission City

KTVU’s Mornings on 2 will showcase Santa Clara on July 15.

The show wants feedback from Santa Clarans on our favorite places in the Mission City.

Suggestions may be featured on the air for their July 15 broadcast.

Here’s the link to give feedback.

They’ll broadcast live from Santa Clara on that day.

Earlier this month, Mornings on 2 started showcasing seven cities and towns around the Bay Area.

Ktvu's 'zip trips' special highlights dublin, anchors crisscrossed the city and even took a plunge down a waterslide in an hour devoted to the city..

DUBLIN, CA — Anyone who visited The Wave water park on Aug. 12 got more than just free or half-price admission. They also got to see KTVU newscaster Frank Mallicoat plunge down the infamously steep Emerald Plunge waterslide.

Mallicoat took the plunge to round out KTVU’s “ Zip Trips ,” an hour-long special focusing only on Dublin. Mallicoat worked with anchors Gasia Mikaelian, Sal Castaneda and Claudine Wong to travel all around the city and find out what makes the city tick.

The second hour-long special devoted to Dublin in less than a month covered all the bases, including:

• An interview with Mayor Melissa Hernandez.
• An interview with Dublin historian Steve Minniear.
• “Taste of the Town” trips to Casa Orozco and Amakara.
• An interview with Quarry Lane School senior and environmental activist Romal Mitr , who founded an environmental film festival, gave a TedTalk, and much more.
• A trip to Earl Anthony’s Dublin Bowl
• A performance of Dublin High School’s school song “Fight On” with the Irish Guard marching band.
• Dublin trivia with residents.
• An interview with Janette Pace, a board member and volunteer at Open Heart Kitchen food pantry.

The team also asked Dublin residents to weigh in on their favorite restaurants and parts of Dublin. They answered:

KTVU’s ‘Zip Trips’ hosts Pittsburg episode

Pittsburg recently became the backdrop for KTVU’s “ Zip Trips ,” an exciting program that celebrates local culture and highlights hidden gems. This “Zip Trips” episode offered a fantastic opportunity for residents and visitors alike to learn about and explore Pittsburg’s unique charm.

In the episode, viewers are taken on a tour of the city and get to visit a variety of places, including Thatcher’s Gourmet Popcorn, California Theatre and Lion’s Den Boxing Gym. Viewers were also treated to a performance by the Pittsburg High School Marching Show Band.
