The Ladies European Tour has unveiled a 30-event tournament schedule for 2023 with a record-breaking prize fund of at least €35m.

“Thanks to our partners, promoters, host venues and fans, 2023 is going to be an incredibly exciting year for the LET,” said CEO Alexandra Armas. “This year’s Race to Costa del Sol showcased the outstanding skill of our players and there will be even higher profile opportunities for our role models to shine next year, with more total prize money than at any time in our history.

The LET now presents a platform for women to build a successful career and achieve their dreams in professional golf. We will continue to work hard to elevate the sport in Europe and around the world.”

The 2023 schedule will take the LET to 21 different countries, starting with the Magical Kenya Ladies Open, which will be played for the third time over the Baobab Course at Vipingo Ridge in Kenya in the first week of February.

South Africa will host two events in March, the Joburg Ladies Open at Modderfontein Golf Club and the Investec South African Women’s Open at Steenberg Golf Club in Cape Town.

The first of five $1 million Aramco Team Series events will then take place in Singapore, followed by two more events in Asia.

The Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open De Espana takes place at Alferini Golf in Malaga. The tournament is the 33rd and final of the Ladies European Tour season and concludes the Race to Costa del Sol title.

A 75-player field will tee it up in the tournament, comprising the top 64 players in the Race to Costa del Sol standings and 11 invitees. Much of the focus will be on Linn Grant and Maja Stark, each of whom has the chance to win the prestigious season-long race. Swede Grant begins the tournament in first place in the standings with her compatriot just 69.77 points behind her in second.

Ahead of the tournament, LET Rookie of the Year Grant said: “I feel like we’ve had a battle on and off throughout the year and it would be sad to have it be over already. I’m glad it made it to the final event, and we’ll give it a good go this week. I feel like it was supposed to be this way, it feels good."

Meanwhile, Stark explained that there is plenty she can take into the next season to come back even stronger, regardless of her performance this week. She said: “I am going to miss this season when I go home next week, and I realise it’s one-and-a-half months until the next tournament. I’m so tired, but I have learnt a lot this season and have a lot of things that I want to do differently.”

To win the Race to Costa Del Sol title, Grant only needs to finish ahead of Stark or tie with her, whereas Stark has to beat her opponent to have any chance of claiming the title. For whoever does claim the title between the pair, it will mark the culmination of a remarkable season considering each player only turned professional in August 2021.

Elsewhere in the field, Carlota Ciganda, who won the tournament last year, will be confident of repeating the feat on home soil. Meanwhile, 2020 Race to Costa del Sol champion Emily Kristine Pedersen also plays as does Ireland’s Leona Maguire . Another Spaniard, Azahara Munoz, who won the tournament 2016 and 2017, also appears.

Players are competing for a purse of €650,000. The winner will claim €97,500. Below is a full breakdown of the prize-money and field for the 2022 Andalucia Costa Del Sol Open De Espana.

2023 Belgian Ladies Open final results: Prize money payout and leaderboard

ladies european tour prize money this week 2023

The 2023 Belgian Ladies Open final leaderboard is headed by winner Patricia Isabel Schmidt, who took home the victory at Naxhelet Golf Club in Wanze, Belgium.

The German Schmidt won her first LET title with a victory in the 54-hole event on 11-under 205, good enough for a two-shot win over Chiara Noja and Maria Hernandez.

Olivia Cowan finished in solo fourth place, one shot out of joint second.

Schmidt won the €45,000 winner's share from the €300,000 purse.

Belgian Ladies Open recap notes

This was the ninth event on the 2023 Ladies European Tour schedule, marking the next event of a record 31-event season scheduled on the slate.

Schmidt wins to jumpstart her 2023, which might propel her to bigger things in a Solheim Cup year.

The 36-hole cut was made on 3-over 147 or better, with 75 players completing the tournament.

The next scheduled Ladies European Tour event is the Helsingborg Open in Sweden next week.

Here's the prize money payout for each golfer at the 2024 Chevron Championship

N elly Korda did it again. The 25-year-old American captured the Chevron Championship to collect a fifth-straight victory Sunday at Carlton Woods, trying Annika Sorenstam and Nancy Lopez as the only other players in LPGA history to accomplish the feat. It's also Korda's second major win, following the 2021 Women's PGA Championship.

Korda opened with 68 then shot three consecutibe 69s to finish at 13-under-par total to earn the $1.2 million first-place check from the $7.9 million purse. Maja Start was second place, two shots back. She earned $666,834.

RELATED: Here are the clubs Nelly Korda used to win the Chevron Championship

There’s been a broken record being played at LPGA majors of late, but one that’s creating beautiful music to those competing in the events. As tour executives emphasize the goal of increasing the prize money payouts for each event, they’re making good on the promise. In 2023, all five of the tour’s biggest individual events paid out record amounts, including a $12 million payout from the USGA at the U.S. Women’s Open and a $10 million purse from the PGA of America at the KPMG Women’s PGA.

Will the trend continue in 2024—particularly with the public awakening going regarding women’s sports overall ? If the Chevron Championship is any indication, it likely will. Earlier in the week, tournament organizers in conjunction with LPGA commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan, announced that the overall prize money payout for the event would be $7.9 million , a jump from $5.2 million in 2023.

In the three years since Chevron became the sponsor, purses for the tournament, previously held in the Palm Springs area and best known as the Dinah Shore, have risen $4.8 million. And the tour and Chevron announced that the title sponsorship has been extended until 2029.

At the Chevron this week, even those who didn't make the cut received $10,000 for their participation, up from $5,000 last year.

Here are the prize money payouts for every golfer who made the cut in Texas.

Former World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki received one of the first main-draw wild cards. Wozniacki was a finalist at the inaugural WTA 1000 edition of Madrid in 2009 (l. to Dinara Safina).

Other main-draw wild cards this week are 2021 US Open champion Emma Raducanu, Amanda Anisimova, Alexandra Eala, Victoria Jimenez Kasintseva, Robin Montgomery, and sisters Linda and Brenda Fruhvirtova.

Unfortunately my body needs a little more time to be ready and I have made the tough decision not to play in Madrid. Tough because I want to be back on tour asap, but experience tells me not to rush. Thank you to @MutuaMadridOpen who offered me the wild card and to my fans ♥️🙏 pic.twitter.com/s9ex85Otio — Simona Halep (@Simona_Halep) April 21, 2024

Two-time Madrid champion Simona Halep initially received a wild card, but the former World No.1 pulled out in advance of the event.
