This was one of the best meals of a 15 day trip.Like many restaurants, we had selected Le Turon based on the reviews, but our hotel manager had also mentioned that it was one of the best in the area. We were seated in an... arched stone ceiling dining area in the lower floor, which appeared to have been a wine cellar, and the atmosphere was very intimate. Service was good, and we each had the menu gourmand, with entree, plat, frommage and dessert. All were outstanding, with the filet de boeuf grille entree and moelleux au chocolat dessert our favorite. Price was good for the quality of food. Highly recommend this restaurant. More

We happened to be in Tours on a Sunday and Monday nights and none of the Michelin Star Restaurants were open. We reserved a table and we were so pleased we did. Booking was essential. The food was amazing - as good as many a... michelin one star. The portions were enormous - so I suggest you build up an appetite to be able to have the 4 course menu - which was excellent value too. Three years ago we ended up for lunch in Le Turon and enjoyed our meal, the wine and the atmosphere. From the little amuse on the house till the espresso to wake us from our dream. Even the bill was pleasant. This year we were... back in Tours and made shure not to miss Le Turon. We were excited, swapped plates to let each other taste our choices. Visited Le Turon on recommendation of son who is studying in Tours and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience. Three of us enjoyed three excellent three course meals washed down with very acceptable wines. We visited Le Turon on our last night in Tours and it made a perfect bookend to our earlier visit to the very different, but equally excellent, Au Lapin Qui Fume. While the latter provides excellent, hearty bistro fare, Le Turon tends more towards the... Nouvelle Cuisine style, with small portions of delicately cooked food, supplemented with alchemical wisps of other flavorful ingredients. The set menu is reasonable, and varied enough to cater to every pallet. The waitstaff were eager and helpful with recommendations and we passed a delightful couple of hours there. There are many similar offerings in Tours and reading the reviews on TA you might wonder why they don't have Michelin stars. Answer is because the food is actually not all that special. To be honest I would expect to find food of similar or... better quality in most towns in England. Anyway this place is pleasant enough. I had monkfish tartare to start which was overpowered by the marinade (very similar to ceviche that is common in Peru) and my wife the eggs with foie gras. This came in a sauce that was supposedly a Chinon wine reduction but actually tasted like oxtail soup!). Main courses were 7 hour lamb (come on guys stewing lamb for ages is not rocket science!) which was ok and sea bream with some rice which was a very nicely cooked piece of fish. I ate dinner here with my wife and daughter in early August, based on a recommendation from Mme. Laurence at the Manoir du Tours hotel. They have a fixed price menu. The restaurant is on the street that most restaurants in town are on (Rue... du Colbert). The menu has English subtitles. The food, service, and atmosphere is excellent. Traditional French cuisine without pretense. Many locals at there also, not just tourists. Even if you do not eat here, you should take a stroll down the street. I think it looks like a quintessential small town French street. More

Been wanting to go Le Turon on Rue Colbert since we arrived in Tour. Alas it was open for dinner (apparently closed on Mondays and Lunch time on Tuesday and Wednesday). The staff were all very friendly. We decided on 1 plat (entree or main)... + 2nd plat (main or dessert), for 12 Euros. I had the Warm Farm Goats Cheese & Rillons (like a cured pork belly) Salad. It was delicious. The Goat cheese was in what in a filo pastry parcel, and baked till warm. A must try. Then followed by a Fillet of Pork with apple sauce and potatoes. My daughter had the Chicken Fricasee which was also good, followed by an Apple crumble with Caramel ice Cream - very nice. The whole bill with a glass of Champagne Cocktail and Mineral Water was 42 Euros. One of the best meals we've had in Tour so far. More

We visited because we wanted local food prepared well and this exceeded our expectations. We had a scallop serviche to start, which was delicious, such a well balanced dish. The food is really good. The service and the presentation are excellent and the taste just kills it. The place is rather simple though and the prices are OK for the quality you get.

We had a superbe dinner at Le Turon with a friend. The service was excellent and the food was delicious. We had pork with cheese cream sauce and foie gras as starters. Then beef and fish as main courses. Every dish was served with great... combination of flavours. Before the orders arrived we were served with an amouse-bouce of pea and cheese soup which was outstanding. For dessert molten chocolate cake and Paris brest pastry which were also fantastic. Really enjoyed our dinner here. Great regional food. Eggs poached in red wine topped with Pate de Foie Gras. Don't hesitate, just try it. Fish and pork were both great too. This is one of the best restaurants I've eaten during my week in France, and I've eaten at two Michelin starred restaurants on my trip. Not only do you get a fantastic 3 course meal for lunch, but it is only 17 euros! The quality of the food, decor and service is worth at least twice that amount. The waiter was very professional and thankfully spoke English. The cod was wonderfully cooked with a delicious sauce and the dessert was fantastic as well. I'd highly recommend eating here if you are in the area.

Skip the restaurants in the tourist quarter and go here--it's on Rue de Colbert, restaurant row for Tours locals. It's a little pricey but worth every penny. The Menu Gourmande is absolutely killer--the best meal I've had in France this trip. Highly recommended; tres simple, mais tres bon!

We biked from Paris to San Sebastian, eating out every meal for two weeks on the way, and this was easily the best lunch we had the whole time. Just amazing.

Their "7-hour Lamb" was probably the best lamb preparation I have ever had in my entire life. The tarte tatin was also highly satisfying. I could gripe about the table wine being kind of harsh, but the lamb was too tender and succulent for it to matter.

I'm eating here right now. I have my iPad at the table and my wife is upset with me, but I wanted to write a favorable review. We went to visit the cathedral and did a yelp search to find this restaurant. It is quite good, but reasonably priced. It is on Colbert street which is a shopping street and at night seems to be more geared towards younger people. I was left asking where are the restaurants for the adults, but we were here early and none of the restaurants open before 7 pm. We found a great pub around the corner and had a beer until they opened and then the food did not disappoint. Like another reviewer I had the 7 hour lamb and it was subtle and not gamey. The au jus was wonderful and subtle. We have been staying at a fancy chateau that believes they have very good food. I think I would rather eat here instead. I also had this fantastic goat cheese and bacon salad (yum). We had local Chinon red wines that did not disappoint even though they are not as well thought of as other regions. I am extremely happy and can't wait for dessert.

D'entrée de jeu, un cadre original, très "vieille France". Un menu excellent tant par la variété, la finesse de la cuisine et la quantité mesurée pour un prix lui aussi contenu. Restaurant de bonne qualité. On a apprécié la cuisine délicieuse : les plats sont biens préparés et bien présentés. Les produits utilisés sont très bons. Petit bémol, un service pas très pro et pas très organisé.

This was one of the best meals of a 15 day trip.Like many restaurants, we had selected Le Turon based on the reviews, but our hotel manager had also mentioned that it was one of the best in the area. We were seated in an... arched stone ceiling dining area in the lower floor, which appeared to have been a wine cellar, and the atmosphere was very intimate. Service was good, and we each had the menu gourmand, with entree, plat, frommage and dessert. All were outstanding, with the filet de boeuf grille entree and moelleux au chocolat dessert our favorite. Price was good for the quality of food. Highly recommend this restaurant. More

We happened to be in Tours on a Sunday and Monday nights and none of the Michelin Star Restaurants were open. We reserved a table and we were so pleased we did. Booking was essential. Three years ago we ended up for lunch in Le Turon and enjoyed our meal, the wine and the atmosphere. From the little amuse on the house till the espresso to wake us from our dream. We visited Le Turon on our last night in Tours and it made a perfect bookend to our earlier visit to the very different, but equally excellent, Au Lapin Qui Fume. While the latter provides excellent, hearty bistro fare, Le Turon tends more towards the... Nouvelle Cuisine style, with small portions of delicately cooked food, supplemented with alchemical wisps of other flavorful ingredients. The set menu is reasonable, and varied enough to cater to every pallet. The waitstaff were eager and helpful with recommendations and we passed a delightful couple of hours there. This popular restaurant fills up quickly so arrive early or book ahead, but don't miss the chance to visit. More

There are many similar offerings in Tours and reading the reviews on TA you might wonder why they don't have Michelin stars. Answer is because the food is actually not all that special. To be honest I would expect to find food of similar or... better quality in most towns in England. Anyway this place is pleasant enough. I had monkfish tartare to start which was overpowered by the marinade (very similar to ceviche that is common in Peru) and my wife the eggs with foie gras. This came in a sauce that was supposedly a Chinon wine reduction but actually tasted like oxtail soup!). Main courses were 7 hour lamb (come on guys stewing lamb for ages is not rocket science!) which was ok and sea bream with some rice which was a very nicely cooked piece of fish. I ate dinner here with my wife and daughter in early August, based on a recommendation from Mme. Laurence at the Manoir du Tours hotel. They have a fixed price menu. The restaurant is on the street that most restaurants in town are on (Rue... du Colbert). The menu has English subtitles. The food, service, and atmosphere is excellent. Traditional French cuisine without pretense. Many locals at there also, not just tourists. Even if you do not eat here, you should take a stroll down the street. I think it looks like a quintessential small town French street. More

Been wanting to go Le Turon on Rue Colbert since we arrived in Tour. Alas it was open for dinner (apparently closed on Mondays and Lunch time on Tuesday and Wednesday). The staff were all very friendly. We decided on 1 plat (entree or main)... + 2nd plat (main or dessert), for 12 Euros. I had the Warm Farm Goats Cheese & Rillons (like a cured pork belly) Salad. It was delicious. The Goat cheese was in what in a filo pastry parcel, and baked till warm. A must try. Then followed by a Fillet of Pork with apple sauce and potatoes. My daughter had the Chicken Fricasee which was also good, followed by an Apple crumble with Caramel ice Cream - very nice. The whole bill with a glass of Champagne Cocktail and Mineral Water was 42 Euros. One of the best meals we've had in Tour so far. More

While there’s plenty of advice on the internet about where to eat in Paris, trusty restaurant recommendations outside the big city are far less common. For our first and only dinner in the Loire Valley, we found an adorable little bistro in Tours called Le Turon , where the food was solid and the service was efficient.

What made the night more festive than usual were the crowded streets full of locals celebrating the summer solstice. Our meal was punctuated by the beating of drums and the twirling of dancers. The French really know how to ring in summer.

While The Astronomer and I indulged in the three-course “Menu Gourmand” for €26.50, Mom ordered a lone fish course a la carte.

Even after witnessing the gavage at the foie gras farm earlier in the day, I could not resist the terrine de foie gras de canard maison et son tartare de poires au miel.  I guess this means I favor deep-rooted culinary traditions over the well-being of animals. The house-made terrine was served with toasted baguette rounds and a pear compote sweetened with honey.

The Astronomer’s carpaccio de Saint Jacques, marinade de chorizo et citron vert was as light and as fresh as we had hoped. The silky slices of scallop paired exceedingly well with the chorizo ribbons.

For my main course, I chose the timeless classic magret de canard a l’orange . Juicy slices of duck breast painted in a tart and slightly bitter orange sauce will never lose their appeal. The potatoes served alongside were buttery little things worthy of major swoonage.

The Astronomer’s agneu de sept heures , lamb cooked for seven hours, tasted simpler than its description led on. It turns out that seven hours of cooking just means really, really tender meat and slightly muted flavors. The Astronomer desired a mustier and more assertive lamb preparation.

To finish, The Astronomer dug into the poire pochee au vin rouge et sorbet cassis . While the poached pears with black current sorbet were certainly refreshing, it needed more sugar to soften the red wine’s acidity.

I was pleased as pie with my pannequet de pommes flambees au Calvados et glace caramel au beurre sale , apples enrobed in a buckwheat crepe topped with salted caramel ice cream.

The next morning we visited the beautiful Chateau de Chenonceau , then we were off to Provence!

Diego López: “No hay duda que el equipo quiere jugar en Europa la temporada que viene”

El extremo de 21 años coincidió en La Masía con Fermín y Gavi. Guarda muy buenos recuedos de aquella época, pero está cumpliendo un sueño en el Valencia. Además, afirma que van a dar “todo para estar en Europa el curso que viene”.

Ayer hubo comida de equipo, ¿se habló de Europa?

La comida fue por las renovaciones de Jaume, Mosquera y la mía. No se habló de Europa pero venimos de semanas que estamos cerca de ese objetivo. No hay presión y, si conseguimos meternos, sería un gran premio.

¿Cómo valora el trabajo de Baraja?

Siempre halagamos mucho al míster y a todo el staff. El trabajo que viene haciendo es digno de valorar por su atrevimiento de ponernos en el césped. Hemos podido trabajar desde el inicio de temporada y por eso tenemos unas bases. Así se refleja en la clasificación.

Los extremos no están marcando goles

Ultimanente estamos con menos acierto de cara a puerta. Al final lo que importa es sumar. No creo que todo sean los goles porque llevamos muchas asistencias y todo suma. Hay cosas tan importantes o más que meter goles.

Sistema 4-4-2 alguno

Con Yaremchuk se pueden fijar más a los defensas y conmigo se pueden generar más espacios

¿Es un plus de motivación estar cerca Europa?

Hace dos años estaba jugando en 2ª Federación y ahora estoy luchando por Europa. No hay duda que el equipo quiere jugar Europa la temporada que viene. Los seis partidos que quedan vamos a darlo todo para estar en esas plazas de Europa.

Jugó en la cantera del Barça, ¿qué recuerdos tiene?

Estuve muy a gusto y conocí a gente magnífica. Esperaba continuar allí, pero no se dieron las cosas. No me ha ido nada mal, estoy cumpliendo un sueño y soy muy feliz aquí.

¿Espera estar en los JJOO de París?

¿Quién no quiere jugar unos juegos representado a su país? Si acabo bien y hago buenos partidos tendré oportunidades. Ojalá llegue ese momento.

¿Cómo ha cambiado su vida en los últimos años?

En mi vida no ha cambiado nada. Sigo yendo a Turón, al bar de mis padres, como he hecho siempre. Lo bonito de esto es que hay que seguir como toda la vida. Todos están muy orgullosos de mí por tener a alguien del pueblo jugando en primera.

¿En qué posición está más cómodo?

El año pasado acabé muy bien de extremo derecha. Este año he ido modificando la posición y me adapto en todas cualquiera. Me siento bien. Si juego, me da igual donde.

Baraja no habla de Europa publicamente, ¿es igual en el vestuario?

Tal y como se muestra aquí se muestra con nosotros. No tenemos que obsesionarnos y tenemos que tener la cabeza fría. Si entramos en Europa será un premio a toda la temporada.

¿Qué nota le pondría a su temporada?

Es muy dificil porque he pasado por altibajos. Hago una buena valoración de la temporada, pero no te puedo decir una nota pero creo que bien.

Confianza en la cantera

La mayoría de equipos tiene que confiar más en sus canteras y en su gente. Como yo hay muchos más jóvenes que quieren dar ese salto.

¿Conocía a Lamine Yamal de su época en La Masía?

Lo conocía cuando estaba allí. Coincidí con él en La Masía y se veía que era un gran jugador. Coincidí con Gaví y Fermín. Todos allí aprenden mucho y por eso salen buenos jugadores.

¿Le afecta en algo el cambio de horario del partido contra el Barça?

No nos afecta en nada, pero da rabia por la gente que tenía organizados sus viajes. La afición del Valencia nunca falla y estamos muy agradecidos de los que vayan. Ojalá estemos a la altura.
