Michael, our tour guide, was patient, friendly, and flexible with different age travelers and physical abilities by adjusting the activities for them. The Best of Korea tour's itinerary was very full. I think many of us enjoyed the itinerary and the experiences we had. I, particularly, enjoyed the various transportation methods which added to the experience. The War Memorial Hall of Korea museum is a big museum and had very important history. Most of us needed more time. I think this activity could of come at the beginning of the tour for us to have better knowledge of Korean history. On the tour's last day, after the museum, most of us thought there was going to be a group dinner. The tours I have been in the past had end of the tour dinner to say good bye and show our appreciation to the tour guide. It's nice to have a closure after spending a week together. We were disappointed that the day just ended after returning to the hotel. After the DMZ visit, we had a very nice lunch at a well known restaurant. This time could of have been a good opportunity to say good bye but I think due to limited time, food came out late, we didn't linger.
Our tour guide Tommy Lee was awesome—highly recommended!!

This trip was AMAZING!!!!! My first group tour ever and the bar has been set insanely high for all future ones. The itinerary brought us to so many amazing places, our tour guide was the best, and everything about South Korea made me fall in love with the country. If you’re choosing between the 10 and 13 day tour, go with the 13!! Jeju Island was one of my favourite parts and defo shouldn’t be missed!!
Lots of fun. Plenty of things packed into the itinerary. Enough free time to cover other things that aren't apart of the tour.

Fantastic introduction to Korean food and culture. This trip had a great mix of walking, eating and chillin. If you’re an expert in Korean food, this may not be the best tour since it’s an intro with slightly more western tastes in mind, but we did try exotic things like murder hornet soju! Haha everything was good and the group was awesome. Everyone got along well, and the guide Michelle made the tour go very smoothly. Some days were >20k steps so def being comfortable walking shoes. One thing to remember is that the dmz visit is not a part of the tour, and in general the dmz is not available on Mondays… so if adding on, you’d have to stay until Tuesday or do it Sunday before tour starts.
I have way to many positive things to mention about this trip. First of all Jacob our tour guide went beyond being an amazing leader. The first few days by myself in in Seoul were overwhelming but having Jacob who knew what he was doing in the city made it feel like our group was part of the city, and we felt safe and comfortable walking the streets Jacob's amount of knowledge about the food , history and hidden gems made the days fly by. All accommodations and restaurants were fantastic. I absolutely recommend this tour. The only problem with the tour was that it ended too early. Because of this tour I am absolutely coming back to South Korea and hope Jacob can be my tour guide. Thanks for an amazing trip.

It was a great trip! We kept busy the entire time while also having some free time, had a lot of really great traditional Korean food at spots you would probably never find otherwise. And did a lot of activities! A lot of tours tend to be less focused on food/activity and more on museums/things to see. So it was nice to get one to keep me active! Everything was nicely planned and alternatives were always ready should there be bad weather.
We had a wonderful time on an excellent culture trip with a wonderful group,- really like a family. Our local tour guide Sam showed us a lot of cultural and historical sights with background information. He looked for the group like a father and showed us a really southful South Korea with a lot of heart and soul. Thank you, Sam. It was an amazing, unforgetable time for us and we will keep it in good memories. It was a pleasure to travel with all of you.

I really hate giving a bad review and liked Frank Shinn. He tried to do his best but his English was lacking. He did not explain much or give any information or interesting stories about places we were going or while on the way to. It seemed we were on our own and not led to the more interesting spots that were in the tour. The bus driver was excellent and felt very safe with his driving. Of the four hotels, the Commodore was the worst, bad food, and hot rooms.
Frank Shin was such a nice man but his English was not proficient enough to lead an English speaking tour. He worked very hard and went out of his way to be helpful, however, there was very little information given about each site we visited. The tour was quite disappointing because we were pretty much left on our own to navigate each stop. While he tried to give us information, it was all so basic and uninteresting. I was envious of other tours that had better guides who directed their guests to the best spots to see or take photos. We actually had a Spanish speaking tour guide, Cathy, who lead a family of five on our bus, and she was often directing them to the best places to go. I feel like we wasted a lot of time trying to figure out where to go. We’ve been on many other tours in Europe, Japan, and the US, in which we were very entertained with unusual or unknown anecdotes about the places we visited. I hate to leave a negative review, because I truly liked Frank as a person, but I would not recommend this tour to others. He was truly so sweet. Another thing about the tour that was unfortunate, was that on two occasions we were taken to lunch and had to pay out of pocket. We didn’t mind the added expense, but we did not have a choice of where or what to eat. We all had to go, and it was a set meal. I think they could have just added that to the price of the tour since there wasn’t an alternative. It was a hassle to have to wait to pay. Also, the timing of the trip was strange. We had a lot of time in some uninteresting places and had very brief times in fascinating places. Meaning we were often either bored or rushing around. The timing was just really off. Perhaps tour company is trying out new route? The last two nights of the tour, we got to the hotels so late at night that we had no choice but to just eat at the hotel instead of venturing into town to experience the local flavors. The hotel dinners were meh. For the most part, the hotel rooms and breakfasts were fine. However, do not expect to adjust temperature in your room. It is set, so we had some warm-ish nights. The Yeosu Ramada was the best. Newest, most comfortable. The worst was the Commodore Gyeongju, and it was pretty bad. Old. Worst breakfast. All in all, it wasn’t horrible, but I wouldn't book a Bamba/Tour Radar tour again. I am sorry to write such a critical review, but I hope this helps the tour company to improve. We spent a week in Seoul on our own, and I think we will travel independently the next time we visit South Korea.

Great tour guide and tour but very poor choice of hotels which had no AC and no food options either in the hotel or nearby.
We had an amazing tour guide in Justin. His great sense of humour and historical knowledge made the trip exciting and fun to places some might not consider travelling to. Highly recommended.

When it comes to travel, we all know there’s so many different options, tho we were so lucky to come across Odynovo, it was the BEST choice as we were planning a Japan & South Korea Tour Lynn, Senior advisor at Odynovo was always super helpful and profesional providing the best itinerary options for our needs, giving different alternatives and giving details on each one so we could make the best out of our trip, she really delivered personalised service to fit our preferences as customers Everything worked perfectly from day 1 an until last day, from airport pick up, to hotels & tours, with very helpful drivers and also tour guides, everything was on time and wonderful As for the tour guides, in Tokyo we had Lyn who was great, super knowledgeable about the tours topics and also very helpful overall, even taking great pictures And for Seoul, we also had an amazing tour guide: Jones, who was the BEST !, he was very patient explaining all, super flexible if we had a request and super helpful, he truly was AMAZING ! He would always make sure we were ok and enjoying the tour ! So in summary, we had an unforgettable trip to both Tokyo & Seoul and if we travel in the future, I will definitely use Odynovo again ! Thank you !
Overall planning was great ( flights, hotel, pick up from the airport, guide). Few areas for improvement would be knowledgeable updates on tourist visa information, distance between locations were widely miscalculated and generally took an hour or more to get to our destinations between cities, the number of stops between drives was too frequent also causing delays, location of hotels wasn’t in the best locations (generally out of the way) and it would have been helpful to let us know we would be responsible for our tour guides lunch and snacks and that we would be taking lunch with them for all our lunches.

Most of this tour’s destination were just ok, only 2 locations were better and the duration of stay per location can use some improvements. For example, they gave us over 2 hours at one temple and not enough time at the national park. Most of our lunch times were pressed short, everything is in Korean so we have to google translate after waiting in lines after we find which place we want to order from. And it went on like that throughout our week. I read the itinerary when I signed up but their details were not very clear. We take at least 1 multi day tour if not more during our vacations and this tour did not compare at all. After this tour ended, we had a few extra days left and trained back to Busan, bought a day tour in Busan and it had so much more to see. The good parts of this tour was that we got to visit all the different villages and learned some of their history.

It was great. Guide took us to number and variety of local Korean restaurants. They took us to many historical places and many temples and National parks. We felt that we were truly immersed in Korean History and came away with a much better understanding of that history.
The whole trip was extremely well organised from start to finish. Could not fault anything with regards to the guides we had, cars were very comfortable and clean. Hotel standard and location in Seoul was great. The hotel in Jeju was in a great location as well but the interior was a bit dated to be rated as a four star accommodation. The guides were great in introducing us to different foods of the regions and we classified this trip as a sightseeing and culinary tour. We would highly recommend anyone to do this private tour for two.

Dodgers, Padres to Wear Commemorative Seoul Patches in Korea

The Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres are getting set to kick off the 2024 Major League Baseball championship season with a pair of games in Seoul, South Korea, this week.

As part of the historic two-game opening series, the Dodgers and Padres are both sporting commemorative patches on their jersey sleeves as well as the side of their caps.

The patch on the caps is a blue square with a light blue trim. Inside is the full name of the event, “MLB WORLD TOUR SEOUL SERIES 2024,” in white, with the MLB logo above. The patch design on the jerseys is similar, except the overall shape changes from a square to a home plate.

Jerseys and caps featuring this limited edition patch are available for purchase now, as are a few other Seoul Series-related shirts and other items.

Of note, the San Diego Padres appear to be replacing their Motorola advertisement patch for games in Korea with one showing the logo of Coupang Play, a Korean online video streaming platform. Coupang Play is also the official “presenting sponsor” of MLB’s World Tour stop in Seoul.

Earlier this month, the Boston Red Sox and Tampa Bay Rays played a pair of exhibition games in Santo Domingo as part of the 2024 MLB World Tour. Both clubs also wore commemorative patches during these games. Additional MLB World Tour stops this season include the Colorado Rockies and Houston Astros in Mexico City in April and the New York Mets’ matchup with the Philadelphia Phillies in London in June.

Korea Tourism Organization’s new branding designed to attract 20 million tourists

Post date: Aug 12 2014

Date: Aug 12 2014

By: Travelweek Group

SEOUL — The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) has launched a new Korean tourism brand ‘Imagine your Korea’ designed to attraction 20 million visitors a year.

The new brand emphasizes the ‘K’ in ‘Korea’ to symbolize a variety of resources that are offered in Korea such as K-food. KTO’s first vision statement, ‘Korea, Sparking’, was adopted in 2007.

‘Imagine your Korea’ is designed to promote the various charms of Korea in an effective and proactive manner to tourists. It reflects the improved global status of Korea through Korea’s beautiful natural environment, rich traditio and history, and it also portrays Korea as “a trendy and creative tourist destination that leads the global pop-culture.”

‘Imagine your Korea’ implicates self-discovery and experiences of such mentioned diverse aspects of Korea to foreign tourists while also keeping in mind the importance and value of personal experience.

The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism and the Korea Tourism Organization held an online contest titled, ‘Slogan Contest for Korea Tourism’ for three weeks, which began on Oct 18, 2013. Including the slogans submitted through the contest and slogans developed by the brand expert, more than 9,000 slogans were reviewed by an advisory committee and global surveys.

‘Imagine your Korea’ was chosen as the finalist.

The selected slogan design portrays energetic and dynamic aspects of Korea and a welcoming message to every foreign visitor. It illustrates one of Korea’s most representative colour combinations and a motif of a twirling sangmo (hat worn during traditional percussion quartet performance).

The ‘K’ of Korea is especially emphasized to that people can better understand and remember the slogan, and to symbolize diverse tourism resources, such as K-Wave, K-Food, and K-Style.

“Last year, the number of foreign visitors to Korea exceeded 12 million, which, in turn, served the opportunity for Korea to make a new leap to become an advanced tourism country, in name and in reality. Foreigners visit Korea not just because of physical accessibility and reasonable prices, but because of their desire to experience the latest trends, cuisine, culture and lifestyle of Korea. In short, the nature of tourism in Korea has changed. With the launching of the new brand, we can reinforce the global awareness that Korea is a creative country filled with the latest trends and sophisticated culture, thereby contributing to the opening of an era that welcomes 20 million foreign tourists,” stated president of KTO Choo Suk Byun.

The new brand will be promoted through the overseas offices of the Korea Tourism Organization.

What Are Common Symbols Used in Korean Logos?

Korean logo design, a realm where tradition meets modernity, is rich with symbols that are both aesthetically pleasing and deeply meaningful. When exploring the world of Korean logos, you'll notice certain recurring motifs that resonate with the cultural and historical essence of Korea. Let's dive into five common symbols often found in Korean logo designs, and uncover the stories and significance behind each.

The Taegeuk

Often seen in the center of the South Korean flag, the Taegeuk symbolizes the balance of yin and yang. In Korean logo design, this iconic symbol is used to convey harmony, balance, and continuity. Its circular shape and intertwined halves in contrasting colors (commonly red and blue) make it not only visually striking but also rich in meaning. Logos incorporating the Taegeuk often belong to organizations that value balance and harmony, whether in their products, services, or philosophy.

Korean Calligraphy

Hangul, the Korean alphabet, is celebrated for its scientific and artistic design. Using Hangul in logos adds a unique Korean flavor, making them instantly recognizable and culturally rich. The elegance and fluidity of Hangul characters can be adapted to create logos that are both traditional and contemporary, depending on the font style and arrangement. It's common to see brands, especially those in the arts and culture sector, utilize Hangul to give their logos a distinct Korean identity.

The Lotus Flower

Symbolizing purity, rebirth, and enlightenment in Korean culture, the lotus flower is another favorite in Korean logo design. Its elegant petals and resilient nature (as it blooms in muddy waters) make it a powerful symbol for companies wishing to portray elegance, beauty, and a journey of growth or transformation. Korean beauty brands, wellness centers, and cultural organizations often incorporate the lotus in their logos to communicate these values.

Traditional Korean Patterns and Shapes

Korean art is known for its use of distinctive patterns and shapes, like geometric designs and nature-inspired motifs. These patterns are not only visually appealing but also carry cultural significance, often representing prosperity, longevity, and good fortune. Incorporating these patterns into logos, designers can add a layer of cultural depth and visual intrigue, making the logo stand out and speak volumes about the brand's connection to Korean heritage.

The Korean Tiger

A symbol of strength, courage, and protection in Korean folklore, the Korean tiger is a popular motif in logo design. Brands that want to project power, courage, or a fearless spirit often incorporate stylized renditions of this majestic animal into their logos. The tiger can be depicted in various styles, from bold and dynamic to subtle and elegant, depending on the brand's personality and message.

In conclusion, Korean logo design is a fascinating blend of symbolism, culture, and artistry. These common symbols – the Taegeuk, Hangul calligraphy, the lotus flower, traditional patterns, and the Korean tiger – are just a glimpse into the rich tapestry of Korean culture and how it can be beautifully encapsulated in logo design. As a designer or a brand enthusiast, diving into the world of Korean logo design is not only a journey of creative discovery but also a delightful exploration of Korea's cultural heritage, narrated through the language of design.

What Colors Are Typically Used in Korean Logos?

In the vibrant world of Korean logo design, colors are not just hues; they are storytellers, each with a unique narrative and cultural significance. As we explore the palette often used in Korean logos, we uncover how these colors are more than just visual choices; they're a celebration of Korean heritage and identity. Here are five colors commonly embraced in Korean logo design, each carrying its own special meaning.

Often regarded as the color of passion and energy, red in Korean culture also symbolizes good fortune and happiness. In Korean logos, red is used to grab attention, evoke strong emotions, and convey a sense of dynamism and vitality. Brands that wish to portray themselves as lively, bold, or innovative often choose red in their logos. It's a color that's hard to miss and even harder to forget – perfect for making a lasting impression.

Blue in Korean logos represents tranquility, trust, and stability. Reflecting the sky and sea, it's a color that evokes a sense of calmness and serenity. This color is popular among brands that want to convey reliability and a sense of trustworthiness. From tech companies to healthcare providers, blue is the go-to for those who want their logo to communicate a feeling of calm confidence and dependability.

Green, the color of nature, is synonymous with growth, harmony, and health in Korean culture. In logo design, green is often used to signify freshness, environmental friendliness, and vitality. Brands that are eco-conscious or in the health and wellness industry frequently use green in their logos to reflect their commitment to nature and well-being. It's a color that speaks of new beginnings and natural balance.

Black and White

The timeless duo of black and white is heavily rooted in Korean tradition, especially in the form of the Taegeuk symbol. Black represents sophistication, mystery, and modernity, while white is associated with purity, peace, and simplicity. In Korean logos, these colors are often used to create a minimalistic yet powerful visual impact. Brands looking for a classic, elegant, and straightforward design tend to lean towards black and white. It's the perfect palette for a design that aims to be both modern and timeless.

Often underappreciated, yellow in Korean culture symbolizes warmth, optimism, and a sense of welcome. In logo design, yellow can be used to inject a sense of cheerfulness and friendliness. Brands that want to appear approachable, youthful, and energetic often incorporate yellow into their logos. It's a color that can make a logo feel more inviting and accessible.

In the delightful canvas of Korean logo design, colors play a pivotal role in weaving stories and conveying messages. Whether it's the fiery passion of red, the serene confidence of blue, the natural vitality of green, the elegant simplicity of black and white, or the cheerful warmth of yellow, each color brings its own flavor to the design. These colors are not just aesthetic choices; they're a bridge between the brand and its audience, a way to communicate values and identity without words. As we appreciate the nuances of these colors in Korean logos, we're reminded that design is not just about looking good – it's about feeling right, and in the world of Korean logos, every color feels just right.

What Are the Challenges in Designing a Korean Logo?

Designing a logo that captures the essence of Korean culture while meeting modern design standards is like walking a tightrope between tradition and innovation. As we delve into the challenges of crafting a Korean logo design, we unveil the complexities and intricacies that make this journey as exciting as it is demanding. Here are five challenges you might encounter along the way, each adding its own twist to the tale of designing a Korean-inspired logo.

Balancing Tradition with Modernity

One of the most significant challenges in Korean logo design is striking the right balance between traditional elements and contemporary aesthetics. Korean culture is rich in symbols, patterns, and colors, each with deep historical and cultural significance. Incorporating these elements in a way that resonates with modern sensibilities while respecting their traditional roots can be a delicate dance. It’s about creating a design that speaks to the heart of Korean heritage but also fits seamlessly into the modern world.

Color Connotations

Colors in Korean culture carry specific meanings and emotions. The challenge lies in choosing colors that not only complement the design aesthetically but also convey the right message and sentiment. For instance, using red might imply energy and passion, but it can also be seen as aggressive if not balanced correctly. The designer needs to have a deep understanding of color psychology in Korean culture to ensure the logo communicates the intended message.

Typography and Hangul Integration

Incorporating Hangul, the Korean script, into logo design adds a layer of complexity, especially for designers who are not native Korean speakers. Hangul is known for its geometric beauty and symmetry, but using it effectively in a logo requires more than just aesthetic consideration; it demands an understanding of the language and script. Ensuring that the characters are not just visually appealing but also correctly formed and contextually appropriate is a challenge that requires both linguistic and design skills.

Symbolism and Cultural Sensitivity

Korean design is deeply rooted in symbolism. From the Taegeuk to traditional motifs, each element has a story and a meaning. The challenge for designers is to use these symbols in a way that is culturally sensitive and appropriate. Misusing or misinterpreting these symbols can lead to designs that are offensive or misrepresentative of Korean culture. It's crucial for designers to research and understand the cultural significance of each element they use in their logo designs.

Target Audience Perception

Finally, understanding how the logo will be perceived by its target audience, both within and outside Korea, is a critical challenge. A design that appeals to a Korean audience might not resonate in the same way with an international audience, and vice versa. The designer must consider the cultural nuances and perceptions of different audiences and create a logo that can bridge cultural gaps and appeal to a diverse range of people.

In summary, Korean logo design is an art form that requires a careful blend of cultural understanding, artistic skill, and sensitivity to audience perception. From balancing tradition with modernity, navigating color connotations, integrating Hangul, being mindful of symbolism, to understanding audience perception, each challenge adds depth and complexity to the design process. Overcoming these challenges is what makes designing a Korean logo an incredibly rewarding and enriching experience, resulting in a design that's not just a logo, but a piece of cultural storytelling.

How To Create a Korean Logo for a Restaurant?

Designing a Korean logo for a restaurant is like setting the table for a feast of creativity and culture. It's where you blend the flavors of traditional Korean elements with the appetizing trends of modern design. If you're ready to cook up a logo that's as tantalizing as Korean cuisine itself, here are five key ingredients to add to your design recipe.

Savor the Richness of Korean Typography

The first spoonful of your design should be a generous serving of Hangul, the Korean alphabet. Hangul is not just a script; it's a masterpiece of typographic art. Use its unique shapes and curves to give your logo a distinct Korean flavor. Whether you're going for a sleek, modern look or a traditional, calligraphic style, Hangul can adapt to your taste, making your logo both authentic and appetizing.

Stir in Traditional Korean Symbols

To give your logo that special zing, sprinkle in some traditional Korean symbols. Consider using motifs like the Taegeuk, a symbol of balance and harmony, or the Mugunghwa (Hibiscus syriacus), South Korea's national flower, to add a touch of cultural depth. These symbols are like the secret spices of Korean design - they infuse your logo with meaning and make it resonate with the cultural essence of Korea.

Blend in Colorful Korean Aesthetics

Now, let's add color to the mix. Korean design is known for its vibrant yet harmonious color palette. Colors like red, representing passion and energy, and blue, symbolizing tranquility, are popular in Korean art and culture. Use these colors to give your logo the warmth and vibrancy of a Korean kitchen, creating an inviting atmosphere for your restaurant.

Garnish with Modern Design Trends

While traditional elements are the soul of Korean design, modern trends are its evolving skin. Blend in some contemporary design elements, like minimalism or abstract shapes, to keep your logo fresh and trendy. This is like adding a modern twist to a traditional recipe – it keeps the core flavors intact while appealing to the contemporary palate.

Taste Test with Your Target Audience

Finally, no recipe is complete without a taste test. Present your logo to a diverse group of people, especially those who appreciate Korean culture and cuisine. Gather feedback and make adjustments to ensure that your logo not only looks good but also appeals to the tastes of your target audience. Remember, a great logo, much like great food, is all about pleasing the senses.

Creating a Korean logo for a restaurant is an exciting journey through the alleyways of tradition and the boulevards of modern design. It's about capturing the essence of Korean culture and cuisine in a visual form that's as delightful to the eyes as Korean food is to the palate. By blending in the right elements - from Hangul typography and traditional symbols to a vibrant color palette and modern design trends, topped off with audience feedback - you'll have a logo that's not just a sign for your restaurant, but a gateway to the rich and flavorful world of Korean cuisine. Bon appétit, or as they say in Korea, 맛있게 드세요 (Mashitge deuseyo)!

How Does Calligraphy Impact Korean Logo Design?

Diving into the world of Korean logo design, we find ourselves amidst a dance of ink and imagination where calligraphy plays a leading role. Calligraphy in Korean logo design isn't just about writing; it's a harmonious blend of art, tradition, and emotion, swaying to the rhythm of design aesthetics. Let's brush through five ways calligraphy impacts Korean logo design, each stroke adding a unique twist to the tale.

Embodies Cultural Essence

At the heart of Korean calligraphy is the soul of Korea's rich history and cultural identity. When calligraphy is woven into a logo, it's like infusing the design with a piece of Korean heritage. It's not just about the words or letters; it's about the story they tell and the emotions they evoke. This cultural depth makes the logo not just a visual symbol but a narrative of Korean tradition, making it resonate more deeply with the audience.

Adds Artistic Flair

Korean calligraphy is an art form that blends aesthetic beauty with linguistic expression. Its fluidity, elegance, and versatility allow for a wide range of artistic interpretations in logo design. Whether it's a bold, dynamic stroke or a delicate, flowing script, calligraphy adds an artistic flair to logos, making them stand out as pieces of art. This is particularly appealing for brands that want to portray sophistication, creativity, or artistic values.

Ensures Uniqueness

In the bustling market of logos, standing out is key, and calligraphy offers just that – uniqueness. Each calligraphic logo is a one-of-a-kind creation, reflecting the hand of the artist. This uniqueness gives the brand a distinct identity, making it easily recognizable and memorable. It's like having a signature dish in a restaurant; it's special, it's yours, and people come back for it.

Conveys Brand Personality

Just like how the style of handwriting can say a lot about a person, the style of calligraphy in a logo speaks volumes about the brand. A logo with bold, assertive strokes might convey strength and confidence, while one with soft, flowing lines might suggest elegance and grace. Calligraphy allows for a nuanced expression of brand personality, making the logo not just a name but a reflection of the brand's character.

Creates Emotional Connection

Calligraphy has the power to touch hearts, and in logo design, this emotional connection is priceless. The way the letters are shaped, the flow of the lines, and the overall feel of the calligraphy can create a sense of warmth, excitement, trust, or even nostalgia. This emotional appeal can make the brand more relatable and endearing to its audience, fostering a stronger bond between the brand and its customers.

In the vibrant landscape of Korean logo design, calligraphy is like the melody that brings the composition to life. It embodies cultural essence, adds artistic flair, ensures uniqueness, conveys brand personality, and creates an emotional connection. Each brushstroke in calligraphy is a step in the dance of design, leading to a logo that's not just seen but felt, not just recognized but remembered. As we embrace the impact of calligraphy in Korean logo design, we celebrate not just a visual identity, but a cultural and emotional journey, artfully scripted in the language of design.

Korean logo design, with its unique blend of traditional elements and modern aesthetics, offers a captivating visual journey that transcends borders. These designs not only represent brands but also narrate stories steeped in rich cultural heritage. The balance of color, calligraphy, symbolism, and modernity in Korean logos reflects a deep understanding of design principles and cultural significance. As the world becomes more interconnected, the appeal of Korean logo design continues to grow, offering endless inspiration for designers and brands alike. Embracing these design elements can lead to creating logos that are not just visually stunning but also culturally resonant and deeply meaningful.

The logos Hyunsuk created are a testament to his artistic talent, with some of them even being used by YG Entertainment as logos for TREASURE's official content.

To commemorate TREASURE’s 'second anniversary,' the members of the group filmed a "TEUME LOG" in which they spent the day as their fans, known as TREASURE MAKER. TREASURE held a schedule voting on their SNS and spent the day based on what their fans chose. The logo used for the "TEUME LOG" was made by Choi Hyunsuk. He tweeted about it on TREASURE’s Twitter handle. This was the first official logo he created, and he did an excellent job.

On August 4, 2022, Hyunsuk shared on Weverse a draft of five more logos he created for the "TEUME LOG."

TREASURE CHUSEOK SPECIAL

Chuseok is a prominent mid-autumn harvest festival and three-day holiday celebrated in South Korea on the 15th day of the eighth month of the lunar calendar on the brightest full moon. In South Korea, Chuseok is one of the greatest and most significant festive holidays. On September 10, 2022, TREASURE released a “CHUSEOK SPECIAL” video on their YouTube channel. On the same day, Hyunsuk posted a 5-second video on Weverse revealing that the logo used for the "TREASURE CHUSEOK SPECIAL" video was also an artwork created by him.

TREASURE WORLD MAP

"TREAURE WORLD MAP" is the latest content of TREASURE. They filmed this throughout their tour. Since January 26, 2023, new episodes have been released every Thursday. Fans aren’t surprised to learn that the logo for TREASURE’S new content is also made by Choi Hyunsuk. This is the third official logo he has created. Hyunsuk disclosed during a Weverse live that he created the logo while he was on a flight. He continued by saying that he hadn't even created it to be used for the content, but the team ultimately decided to develop it and use it as the official logo.

North Korea fires suspected short-range missiles into ocean, South says

North Korea has fired an unidentified ballistic missile into the sea off South Korea's east coast, Seoul's military said on April 22, the latest in an apparent volley of tests by Pyongyang this year.

SEOUL, South Korea — North Korea fired multiple suspected short-range ballistic missiles toward its eastern waters on Monday, South Korea ’s military said, the latest in a recent series of weapons launches by the North.

South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff said in a statement that it detected the launches from North Korea’s capital region but gave no further details, such as how far the weapons flew. It said South Korea has strengthened its surveillance posture and maintains a firm readiness in close coordination with the United States and Japan .

Japan also confirmed the launches, with the office of Prime Minister Fumio Kishida instructing officials to employ maximum efforts to gather information and ensure the safety of aircraft and vessels, according to a statement released on X.

North Korea in recent months has been maintaining an accelerated pace in weapons testing as it continues to expand its military capabilities amid stalemated diplomacy with the United States and South Korea.

North Korea announced Saturday that it tested a “super-large” cruise missile warhead and a new anti-aircraft missile in a western coastal area on Friday. Earlier in April, North Korea also test-launched what it called a solid-fuel intermediate-range missile with hypersonic warhead capabilities, a weapon that experts say is meant to attack remote enemy targets in the U.S. Pacific territory of Guam and beyond.

In response to North Korea’s evolving nuclear threats, the United States and South Korea have been strengthening their bilateral military drills and trilateral exercises with Japan.

On Monday, the chairman of South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff, Kim Myung-soo, met with U.S. Space Command Commander Stephen N. Whiting for discussions on countering North Korean threats, according to South Korea’s military.

Some experts earlier said North Korea could launch major provocations such as a banned satellite launch this month to mark key state anniversaries — the April 15 birthday of state founder Kim Il Sung, the late grandfather of Kim Jong Un , and the April 25 founding anniversary of a predecessor of the North’s military.

South Korea’s military said Monday that it has detected evidence that North Korea is preparing for its second spy satellite launch but there are no signs that a launch is imminent.
