Cornell Iral Haynes Jr. (born 2 November 1974), better known as Nelly, is a Grammy award winning rapper, songwriter and multi-platinum recording artist from St. Louis Missouri, USA.

Originally born in Austin, Texas, Nelly moved to Missouri as a result of his parents’ separation at the age of 7. It was there that he found initial musical success, with the formation of the hip-hop group “St. Lunatics” with his high school friends in 1993.

After achieving moderate local interest with their song “Gimme What U Got” it became apparent to Nelly and the rest of the group, that he was the star of the group, and they encouraged him to push forward with his solo career.

He was finally signed by Universal, despite concerns about his geographical background not being commercially viable, as the majority of well-liked rappers hailed from New York or California at the time.

However Nelly’s debut release Country Grammar in 2000, was fairly successful, with the title track’s popularity helping pull the album to the top of various charts in the US. The album established Nelly’s personal pop-rap style, matched with his southern drawl that made him distinctive in the genre at the time.

Two years later, Nelly released his second full-length album, “Nellyville”, which took the rapper to superstardom. Tracks such as the catchy “Hot In Here” and R&B collaboration jam “Dilemna” with Destiny Child’s Kelly Rowland, established Nelly at the top of the charts around the globe, with the album certified as six times platinum and ranked as the fourth best selling rap album of all time.

Suddenly, Nelly and his trademark plaster were everywhere. His third LP, a “dual” album called Sweat, Suit, was a half Rap, half R&B album, Both albums were released simultaneously in 2004, with the latter featuring the hit single “Over and Over” a surprise joint track with country singer Tim McGraw. The album was yet another commercial triumph for the rapper, cementing his place as one of the true icons of the 2000’s.

Alongside his musical career, Nelly became known for his business acumen, during a time when rappers could seemingly release anything! Nelly’s ventures included, collaboration with Nike for a limited edition sneaker, his own brand of energy drink “Pimp Juice” and a women’s clothing range called “Apple Bottoms.” He also made a name for himself in the acting industry, starring in comedy sports movie “The Longest Yard” with comedians Adam Sandler and Chris Rock.

Decent show....Wish he'd SING more as [IMHO] he's a better Blues Singer than rapper. Also, now that he's "middle-aged" (42-45-ish), wish he wouldn't worry so much at..?....I guess I'd say: Trying so hard to be cool! He's NOT 21 anymore AND he's got talent so there's just NO NEED to think he has to prove he's "cool/hip" if that makes sense. IOW, once you've made it big and you're in your mid-forties, I just think you should chill and be yourself and not think you have to compete with the likes of Justin Bieber or other little kids/20-something year olds! Just act your age man and let your talent shine. I REALLY HOPE NELLY READS his reviews because I'm not dissing him (my brother) rather I'm trying to convey the point that when you're in your mid-forties and you try and act like you're 21, it shows; everybody knows it/everybody can tell sadly. Other than that, it was a decent show. Props to him and all other performers that both come to and don't overlook the Permian Basin that has a population of half a million. A native Californian (Los Angeles), of Course Midland Odessa isn't that large to me but at the same time, half a million is a decent amount of people and there are some really decent venues here including the world-renowned Wagner Noel Center which many artists have commented on their Facebook page just how nice it is don't ever overlooked this area as there's a lot of money and people STARVING to go to concerts out here (we WANT MORE THAN UR HISTORICALL SAME OLD CRAP: COUNTRY & MEXICAN...1/2 the population HATES the latter & I do NOT mean that in a racist way but this is AMERICA!!! Our primary language is ENGLISH!!!! THEY DON'T PERFORM ENGLISH SHOWS IN MEXICO SO THEY SHOULD PERFORM ENGLISH SHOWS IN AMERICA! AND IT'S NOT TO SAY THAT I DON'T LIKE SOME SPANISH MUSIC BECAUSE I DO I JUST THINK WE SHOULD HAVE A VARIETY OF MUSIC...NOT JUST these 2 genres (Mexican & Country); we WANT: CURRENT (Key Word!) Pop, Hip Hop/Blues (thnx Nelly, really!), Adult Contemporary (like Christopher Cross came here on Valentine's Night 2014; awesome!), smooth jazz, Stand-Up Comedy (Chris Tucker even came here on a four-city Tour which included: New York, Dallas, Midland, & Los Angeles; that's freakingawesome!!!!), any genre you would find in Dallas or Los Angeles for example! Nelly has not had frequent appearances on the charts over the last couple of years yet during his incarnation and first few years he scored chart choppers on both sides of the Atlantic. His set lists are now carefully considered to include some of his very best material along with the crowd pleasing mega hits from the mid 00's.

From the opening intro of 'Party People', Nelly swaggers around the stage and whips the crowd into frenzy. Perhaps the most iconic of all his tracks 'Hot In Herre' of course evokes screams of delight as Nelly commands the audience 'to take off all your clothes'. Yet other tracks such as 'Country Grammar' and 'Ride Wit Me' gain an equally big rap/sing-along. His biggest international hit 'Dilemma' sounds fresh and despite no guest appearance from Kelly Rowland, it is a highlight of the show.

One of the best surprises is a great mix of 'Flap Ya Wings' with Robin Thicke's 'Blurred Lines'. Nelly has been a consistent hip hop artist with a great selection of commercial successes, an incredibly enjoyable act to see live.

I saw Nelly on the Florida Georgia Line Summer Series tour. I’m not sure how I didn’t get any pictures of Nelly’s performance. I think I was in shock when he first came out. I’m not sure what song he was rapping to but it was awkward. I’ve been so involved with country music the past few years that I’ve forgotten how to appreciate other music genres. But then he broke into his older songs that we all knew and loved. I hadn’t realized Nelly has been around for 15 years. I was 10 when Country Grammar came out then. And he tested us. He wanted to see how many of us had been around since the beginning and my group knew every word of Country Grammar. I have a feeling none of the younger crowd knew what was going on. Nelly had a few humble speeches towards the end of his set. He was so grateful that country music fans accepted the Cruise Remix and made him feel welcome on the tour with Florida Georgia Line and Chris Lane. He also told the crowd to chase their dreams like he had before ending the night with Just A Dream.

The VIP was horrible, the tables were all the way in the back couldn't even see the stage so it kind of sucked to spend that much money on a show yet the people who got in free were right up front to the stage. The servers brought us our bottle but then that was it they were too busy making twerking videos of each other instead of asking if we needed anything, they never came back to our table after bringing us the bottle. It was not a good "vip" experience at all I would of rather saved my money and did the free admission. Nelly was late he came a little after 1am and only performed about four songs but not all the way through, it was more of a night club with the DJ than a performance which sucks because I've been a huge Nelly fan since I was 13 so for 17 years and was looking forward to this show, the overall experience was disappointing.

When Nelly came out, I had to leave. I am a conservative country music fan of Flordia Georgia Line and Nelly's show was the most inappropriate show I have ever seen. I went for Flordia Georgia Line and was excited for Nelly. Sadly, the girls he had dancing were barely dressed and were dancing in a very inappropriate manner. Everything in my soul told me that I needed to leave the show while he preformed. This was a huge let down because I had bought very expensive seats. This was a very disapointing experience for me. I saw mothers with children leaving the same time I left. I would never come see Nelly or a similar artist in Wheatland again. I wish I was notified that Nelly was going to have suggestive and degrading dancers . Please keep your shows for the whole family.

Juvenile didnt make it to the show has apart of the head liner bc he missed connecting flight amd Nelly was late 45 mins coming on stage due to flight delays as well. I know weather happens but it would have been nice to know what was goin on. The venue did not let the concert goers know about the cancellation of Juvenile or that Nelly would be late so I dnt think that was right. But over all Nelly himself did a great job. The crowd was ready for him after listening to the DJ play the same music over 5 hrs. Wish he would have played alittle longer considering how long we waited. Glad Nelly apologized as well bc alot of artists wouldnt have cared they kept fans waiting.

SAVE YOUR MONEY! After 3 hours of watching music videos (don't get me wrong, watching 90s hip hop vids really got us into the mood for Nelly - but 3 hours!?) he finally came on stage at 12:40 am on a Thursday night. To our horror, he didn't sing full songs and his hits were remixed with different background tracks. I would say most people at this concert were in their 30s and 40s (teenagers in the 90s)and came to hear the songs of our glory days. Most also had to work the next day. We left after about 4 songs, the sound was terrible which was surprising because they had over 3 hours to get it right.

Absolutley amazing show , he gave the people what they paid for :) been listening to his music since he started out and still love his music now. The dj's who played before him were entertaining the crowd well before the main event. Would love for him to come back to the uk and tour again as i would go see him again.

OMG absolutely FabUlous. 10/10. Loved the he got the crowd involved. Never seen that before and he seemed very humble. Love that guy. The arena made it quite intermat also the other guys with him were amaaaazing and loved they were recording with other people's phones. Well good.

Nelly Announces 2019 Australian Headline Tour

After already spilling the wine on plans to head to Australia in 2019 as part of the  RNB Vine Days festival , hip-hop icon Nelly has now announced a handful of headlining dates to boot.

It’s about to get ~Hot In Herre~ in Sydney, Cairns, Darwin and Melbourne, where the bandaid-reppin’ rapper will also be performing live during his trip down under next February. All shows are for fans 18 and older, except the Sydney date, which is all-ages.

These new shows arrive in addition to Nelly’s  previously announced dates in the Hunter Valley, Mount Cotton, Geelong, McLaren Vale and Perth for RNB Vine Days, where he’ll be performing alongside fellow throwback stars Craig David, All Saints and more.

Although the the ‘Grillz’ wordsmith won’t just be resting on his past hits. He’s also been busy making new music, with his latest single ‘Freaky With You (feat. Jacquees)’ released earlier this year.

Nelly will be supported at all shows by Aussie DJ extraordinaire Horizon.

‘That Was Painful to Watch’: Nelly’s Australia Performance Goes Viral, Sparks Concern Amongst Fans About his Well-Being

Nelly fans are concerned after seeing the rapper perform at a show in Melbourne, Australia, on Jan. 17. The recording artist was in town for the 2023 Juicy Fest, and fans are wondering if the rapper was on the juice after witnessing his performance.

Footage of Nelly went viral on TikTok and Twitter following his performance, and the rapper seemed to be under the influence of… something. Nelly appeared to be extremely happy and smiled extra-wide during his performance. The recording artist also swayed his head in a strange manner as he sang, prompting many fans to question if he was OK.

Several fans had jokes about Nelly’s performance. One fan joked that Nelly looked like comedian Tracy Morgan pretending to be Nelly.

“That boy zooted,” wrote one fan. “Whatever he on was kicking his ass. Nelly acting like Tracy Morgan acting like Nelly.”

“What drug is Nelly on? Percs do this? I’m asking,” replied another fan.

Another fan tweeted , “I’ll have what Nelly is having.”

“Nelly was def on something last night coz his eyes were fighting for their life,” noted one fan. “His crew should have told him to keep his glasses on. #juicyfest.”

“Oiiiiiii what is nelly doing??? shaytan behavior,” replied another fan. “Nelly is on another planet,” echoed another. “Nelly was HIGH AS EGGS at that festival in Australia lmao every video I see if his performing gets funnier and funnier,” added another.

Fans also commented on Nelly’s eyes rolling as he was on stage. “His eyes rolled back to 2003,” wrote one Twitter user. “Wow,” another fan replied. “Those eyes are ROLLING!”

Several fans also wondered what kind of drug Nelly may be on in the video. “LSD?” Another fan asked, “Has he been juice in?” One fan even seemed to think the rapper was having a stroke. “He looks possessed,” added one fan. “Omgggg the molly be hitting lmfaooo.”

Nelly’s next performance is on Jan. 20 in Perth, Australia. Ne-Yo and Ja Rule are also scheduled to perform.

Nelly, Ja Rule, & Ne-Yo Are Touring Australia To Satisfy Your 2000s Nostalgia

We already know that fans of clanging guitars, frantic drums, and Alex Turner’s buttery vocals will be well-taken care of when UK rockers Arctic Monkeys tour Australia in January 2023. But those who lean towards something a bit closer to hip hop, R&B, and pop mightn’t want to kick off the new year by jumping around a mosh pit to ‘I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor.’ If that sounds like you then Juicy Fest Australia is right up your alley.

Also scheduled for January 2023, the new hip hop and R&B festival will be headlined by the likes of Nelly, Ja Rule and Ne-Yo, with the rest of the lineup perfectly aligned with the whole late 90s/early 2000s vibe, featuring the likes of Mya, Bow Wow, Pretty Ricky, Xzibit, and Twista.

Fyre Festival’s Ja Rule seems to be the biggest pull for those who were glued to their radio throughout the 2000s, although Nelly and Ne-Yo are also fairly big-ticket plays for the inaugural festival which is presented by possibly the only clothing brand that makes sense for this type of lineup (I’ll leave that one up to your educated guesses).

While promotional material is promising “additional acts” to be announced closer to the date, the first line-up announcement should be more than enough to see plenty of tickets pumped out when the first allocation goes on sale on Wednesday, June 15th.

Whether you’re more there for ‘ Adrenaline Rush ,’ or if you’d prefer something like ‘ Dilemma ,’ in all likelihood Juicy Fest is going to go down as smoothly as a sugary Vodka Cruisier as 2023 begins to build up as a cracker year for live music across all genres.

Although, I’d be selling you short if I didn’t mention the elephant in the room. The fact that organisers haven’t even locked in a Sydney venue isn’t promising. And the lineup – well, lineups of that nature always tend to fall apart at the last minute, so I wouldn’t be surprised if we saw a few changes or cancellations in the lead-up. It’s safer to take a more “buyer beware” approach right now, so do make sure you’ve got some insurance in case things don’t materialise come January 2023.

The rapper's facial expressions during his set at the touring R&B festival have garnered millions of views

Videos of Nelly ’s recent set at Juicy Fest have garnered attention online, after the rapper was caught making bizarre facial expressions during his performance of ‘Over and Over’.

Nelly was one of three headliners alongside Ne-Yo and Ja Rule to perform at the festival’s Melbourne edition last Sunday (January 15). Partway through his rendition of the song, which was released in 2004 features country singer Tim McGraw , Nelly can be seen singing the chorus with an exaggerated smile and rolling his eyes.

Snippets of Nelly’s performance were quickly circulated on social media, with some fans questioning whether the rapper “on something [because] his eyes were fighting for their life”. Others suggested that Nelly was “HIGH AS EGGS” and “zooted”. Some users made light of the performance, saying Nelly was simply “feeling this song” and joking that his “eyes rolled back to 2003”.

While he is yet to directly address the viral videos, Nelly posted an Instagram story yesterday (January 18), in which he “thank[ed] all of Australia for showing out” for the festival. He continued: “Shit’s been amazing, and I can’t wait to finish out strong”.

Juicy Fest Melbourne marked the penultimate stop for the touring R&B festival, with the final edition to take place tomorrow (January 20) at the Red Hill Auditorium in Perth. Alongside its three headliners, the Juicy Fest line-up also includes fellow international acts Bow Wow , Xzibit , Mya , Pretty Ricky, Twista, Chingy and Lloyd.

Nelly’s latest studio album, ‘Heartland’, arrived in 2021, and featured guest appearances from Blanco Brown, Chris Bandi, City Spud and Darius Rucker of Hootie & The Blowfish . Nelly’s biggest hit, the Neptunes -produced ‘Nellyville’ track ‘Hot In Herre’, turned 20 last year .

Earlier this week, Bow Wow called on his fellow rappers to unionise in order to “protect this thing we call hip-hop” .

Nelly Australian Tour

Joined by Lupe Fiasco And B.O.B. 8 January – 17 January 2015.

Double Grammy award-winning rapper Nelly will be touring Australia and New Zealand with Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B for the ultimate hip hop concert this summer .

With over 21 million albums sold, the tour marks Nelly’s first visit to Australia in four years, and first ever arena tour. Joined by Lupe Fiasco and B.o.B, the trio will kick off the tour on January 8 in Sydney at QANTAS Credit Union Arena, finishing up in Perth on January 17, playing at a variety of stadiums and arenas nationally.

Fans have expressed concern after singing legend Nelly was seen with his eyes rolling backwards and blinking excessively during a  Melbourne gig on Wednesday.

The Hot in Herre hitmaker, 48, took to the stage at Juicy Fest to perform Over And Over with his eyes continuously rolling into the back of his head.

Sporting blue jeans, a white T-shirt and huge diamond chain, the star rapped his 2004 hit before rolling his eyes and waving his hands in the air.

Clips of the performance were quickly posted online by fans, with some saying he was struggling under the bright lights.

Others said the rapper should have considered cancelling the gig.

Nelly hasn't addressed the video, but took to Instagram to thank 'all of Australia' for showing out', adding that the tour had 'been amazing' and that he couldn't wait 'to finish out strong'.

Nelly Appeared To Be In Another Galaxy While Performing At A Concert In Australia

I don't know if it was the time difference, being upside down on the planet, or trying to figure out which of his lyrics he was going to occasionally chime in with on the microphone that may or may not have been written on the back of his eyelids. But something was up with our boy Nelly in the Land Down Under. 

Now as is the case with all videos like this, people rushed to assume that Nelly was under the influence.

I agree 100% with @Spinnellii. Yes that video somehow does get funnier every single time you watch it and Nelly was indeed high as eggs (which is simply a tremendous phrase). However I don't know if he was high on drugs or any other substance. What I can guarantee you is that he was high on Nelly, which is something we have all been guilty of at some point over the last 20 years.

I mean look what kind of effect his had on my extremely lowkey yet lovable coworker from the midwest back in the day.

Once the sweet stylings of Nelly hit your eardrum, you simply cannot control what your body does. It could lead to dancing, screaming, or if you are the source of said sounds, your eyes rolling through the back of your head (Which actually sounds like the side effects of a drug that is being pushed every week during NFL games). 

So again, if you see someone acting strangely while Nelly is playing, please realize they aren't high or drunk on your traditional substances but instead high on that Midwest Swing.

To be clear, they could 1000000% be high and/or drunk on other stuff too. But they are definitely high on Nelly's music as well.

Nelly 's recent performance in Australia has the Internet thinking he was a drunken mess on stage ... and the "Country Grammar" rapper can't help but laugh at all the jokes getting thrown his way about the show.

Video from Sunday's performance at Melbourne's Juice Fest shows Nelly staring off into space and missing the cues for his song "Over and Over" -- causing fans to voice their concerns on social media -- and letting the jokes fly.

"Nahh Nelly caught 4k Perced up and on god knows what other drugs he on," one fan quipped while another wrote, "Nelly was HIGH AS EGGS at that festival in Australia lmao every video i see if him performing gets funnier and funnier."

Nelly didn't deny being under the influence of anything ... but comedian Spice Adams spoofed the performance on Instagram, prompting the rap superstar to react with a slew of laughing emojis ... because what else can you say at this point? 😅

TMZ Hip Hop reached out to Nelly to clarify things 100%. We're sure he's performed the hit a zillion times -- the platinum-selling Tim McGraw collab dropped all the way back in 2004 -- but that recent rendition certainly wasn't his best!!!

Making Moves: Nelly Korda Continues to Shine

Nelly Korda is getting comfortable at the top. For the fourth straight week, Korda remains at No. 1 in the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings.

At just 25 years old, Korda has already etched her name into the golf history books in more ways than one. But last week, she clinched her fourth title at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards, marking a significant milestone as the first American since Kathy Whitworth in 1969 to win four of her first five starts in a season.

Her victories at Shadow Creek in Las Vegas, Nev., the LPGA Drive On Championship in her native Bradenton, Fla., the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship at Palos Verdes Golf Club and the Ford Championship presented by KCC in Arizona have further solidified Korda’s dominance.

Korda first jumped into the top spot in June 2021 and has only been outside the top five in the Rolex Rankings three times since entering it in November 2019. She moved back to No. 1 after her win at the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship and has remained there ever since. Korda currently holds a 3.79-point lead in the rankings over No. 2 Lilia Vu, who took last week off but will be back in action and ready to defend her major title at The Chevron Championship next week in the Lone Star State. 

But Korda's success is not just limited to her LPGA Tour titles. With her recent win, she has crossed the $1 million mark in season earnings, adding to her impressive career earnings of over $10,000,000. This feat also ties her with Lorena Ochoa as the fastest to reach $1 million in single-season earnings, a testament to her recent dominance on the LPGA Tour.

Around the World

Seven countries are represented in the top 10 of the Rolex Women’s World Golf Rankings, and 11 are in the top 25, once again establishing the LPGA Tour as a global sports organization.

The Americans lead the way with seven golfers in the top 25 in the Rolex Rankings, led by Nelly Korda. Korda's teammate at the 2023 Solheim Cup, Lilia Vu, is No.2, while Megan Khang is at No.13, Angel Yin is at No. 20 and Rose Zhang is at No. 21.

The Republic of Korea has the second-most players in the top 25, with four, including Jin Young Ko at No. 6, Hyo-Joo Kim at No. 9 and Amy Yang at No. 15. Because they sit within the top 15, Ko, Kim and Yang are currently eligible for the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Atthaya Thitikul and Patty Tavatanakit – who helped lead Thailand to a win at the 2023 Hanwha LIFEPLUS International Crown – are the lone Thai representatives in the top 25. They are also currently on pace to represent their country in the Olympics this summer.

France (Celine Boutier), People's Republic of China (Ruoning Yin, Xiyu Lin), Australia (Minjee Lee, Hannah Green), England (Charley Hull), New Zealand (Lydia Ko), Canada (Brooke Henderson), Japan (Nasa Hataoka, Ayaka Furue, Miyu Yamashita) and Ireland (Leona Maguire), round out the other countries with representation in the Rolex Rankings top 25.

Leona Maguire Moves to Ninth on Race to the CME Globe

Leona Maguire fell short of capturing her third career LPGA Tour win at the T-Mobile Match Play presented by MGM Rewards, but her runner-up finish moved her from No. 38 to ninth in the Race to the CME Globe standings.

Heading into the off week, Maguire has two additional top 13s, including a T13 at the FIR HILLS SERI PAK Championship and a T12 at the Hilton Grand Vacations Tournament of Champions. She also ranks 10th on the official money list and is 11th in the Rolex Player of the Year standings. The Irishwoman also moved up seven spots in the world rankings to No. 23.

2024 Masters payouts: How much did Scottie Scheffler earn for his win at Augusta National?

Scottie scheffler rolled to a dominant four-shot win on sunday to pick up his second green jacket.

Scottie Scheffler ran away from the field on Sunday afternoon at Augusta National.

The world’s top-ranked golfer cruised to a dominant four-shot win to claim his second career Masters title without any issue. He posted a final-round 68, and held on as Collin Morikawa, Max Homa and Ludvig Aberg — who were tied with him at the top briefly before making the turn — all slipped away. It marked Scheffler's ninth career win on the PGA Tour, his third victory this season and his second major championship.

As a result, Scheffler took home $3.6 million — which is $360,000 more than Jon Rahm earned last year for his win. Aberg earned $2.16 million for his runner-up finish, which is an incredible paycheck for his first ever major championship appearance. The Masters had a $20 million purse this week, which is a record for the major and $2 million more than last season.
