Tour description

Get into the magical and romantic atmosphere of the Eternal City, with our panoramic tour of illuminated Rome in the night .

Leaving the agency and crossing part of the city center, you will be able to admire from the bus the beautiful Naiades Fountain in the middle of Republic square , the Aurelian walls dating back to the 3th century A.D., and one of its gates, Porta Pinciana through which you enter the ​​Via Veneto area where you are going to stop to enjoy a nice walk through the city, in order to reach the Trevi Fountain .

According to the tradition, throwing a coin into the fountain will bring back to the city, so once you are in front of this incredible masterpiece of architecture and sculpture, you can decide to keep up this tradition.

After this visit, you will take the bus again to reach the second and last stop of this tour. During the bus ride, the guide will show you the most famous monuments and points of attraction of the city, driving near the Colosseum , the Circus Maximus , the Justice Palace and the Synagogue . Crossing the so famous Via della Conciliazione , you will  be able to take a beautiful picture of the illuminated St. Peter’s Basilica too.

Finally, driving along the river Tiber , from where you can admire the beautiful Sant’ Angelo Castle ,  you will get off very close to one of the most famous squares of Rome, Piazza Navona , the greatest example of the baroque style in Rome, with its incredible fountains, first of all the Fountain of the Four Rivers by Bernini, situated in front of the facade of the St. Agnese in Agone Church by Borromini.

After this interesting panoramic tour of the city, you will be taken to a local restaurant for dinner (drinks included). After dinner, the tour ends in Piazza Navona.

Believe it or not, you can actually visit the Colosseum after dark. 

In addition to experiencing this famous landmark in the evening, most night tours also include access to the underground area that few get the opportunity to see.

There are a few different companies offering this service.

5. Vatican Night Tours

There are a few companies offering a tour of the Vatican after hours. 

These outings will allow you to visit the Vatican Museums after closing at 19:30 (7:30 pm) and see some of the most important attractions without crowds.

A majority of segway night tours start at either 19:00 (7 pm) or 19:30 (7:30 pm), and each company offers a short demonstration to help familiarize you with the vehicle.

Enjoy some sightseeing in Rome while drifting along the river and eating a nice meal. 

While this is a very comfortable service, it’s worth noting that it’s not a traditional tour, so you probably won’t learn much about the city.

In addition to a meal, you can also usually expect some romantic music, making this the perfect opportunity for a date night.

While there are some catacomb tours that take place during the day, it’s much creepier and eerie to experience this part of Rome after dark.
