More about ireland.
To the west of Great Britain, the enchanting emerald green landscapes, meandering rivers, and rugged cliffs create the serene beauty that is Ireland, known as the Emerald Isle. On the east coast, Irish folklore and legends come to life in cozy pubs where warm hospitality and traditional music combine to create an authentic Irish experience in the vibrant capital, Dublin. In the harbor city of Galway on the west coast, the Salthill promenade leads to popular beaches, and in town, you'll find eateries, nightclubs, and theaters as you wander through the cobblestone streets. Situated on the northeastern shore of Lough Leane, Killarney is a popular gateway to The Ring of Kerry, a scenic southwest drive that makes its way around the Iveragh Peninsula through coastal landscapes and rural seaside villages. With a history steeped in Celtic traditions, and marked by sites such as abbeys, castles, and monuments, from the East to the West, Ireland invites visitors to immerse themselves in the warmth of its culture and explore its magical landscapes.

- To make it easier to replace your passport if it’s lost or stolen, in addition to your passport, take a photocopy of your passport information page (keeping it separate from your actual passport).
- Carry only a limited amount of cash, just enough for gratuities and incidental purchases. Major credit cards are widely accepted and can be replaced if lost or stolen.
- Always lock your hotel room door (including patio and balcony door on any level of the building) and use the peephole before opening the door.
- Store your valuables (such as cash, credit cards and airline tickets) in the hotel’s in-room safe or front desk safety deposit box.

From our travelers
Wonderfully planned and executed trip. Our tour director was a gem and looked after us as if we were in her own family. Lots of good, first hand info, including her native experiences growing up and raising her family. She did poetry readings, wonderful Irish stories and sang a song or two, all seemingly by memory.

Great irish tour.
Loved the Titanic museum, the Killarney National Park jaunting car ride through the park, local guides who lived through the "troubles" and able to give a personal sense of Ireland's tragedy, Waterford factory tour, the Sleah Head tour and Dingle, the sheep dog demonstration and the weaving demonstration.
I would highly recommend this tour to anyone interested in a fast paced, comprehensive tour of the coast of Ireland.

This tour was incredible. Donncha brought Ireland to life in no other way. Literally, nearly a year later and we feel "homesick" thinking about Ireland. The trails were incredible. Every skill level could do the hikes and yet it was never boring. Best way to see Ireland in my opinion. All accomodations were lovely, food was fantastic. Donncha also have fantastic recommendations everyday on where to eat and what to check out in our free time. This will be one I remember for the rest of my life as a top favorite.

The Wild Atlantic Way
What people love about 7 day ireland tours.
I had an incredible week on the Overland Great Atlantic Adventure tour! I went as a solo traveller in my 20s and, despite being nervous at first as the rest of the group were all travelling in pairs, had the best experience I could’ve asked for. We all had a great time together - I found the tour perfect for couples, family, friends and solo travellers alike. Our tour guide David was amazing, very kind, friendly and knowledgeable and went out of his way to make sure the tour worked for everyone. If you join an Overland tour, you’ll be lucky to have David as your guide, he’s the best! All of the B&Bs/hotels were of great quality with breakfast included every day. The van is very comfortable and has plenty of space for a small group, much better than a huge coach full of 60 people (in my opinion). There was a fair bit of driving but it is inevitable with how much ground is covered. The places we visited and activities were all incredible. The only slight negative I have is that sometimes there were activities on the itinerary that we simply didn’t have time for - e.g. a 2.5 hour hike at the cliffs of moher, and with so much packed in you really don’t get much time to see some places. For example, we arrived in Westport around 7:30pm and left before 9am the next morning, but again that is inevitable with so much packed into such a short space of time. My highlights of the trip were kayaking in Dingle (I absolutely loved Dingle in general and am very glad we had 2 nights there) as well as climbing Croagh Patrick on our last day! The climb was tough but I would definitely recommend it if you’re able - an amazing experience. All in all I’m so glad I booked this trip and truly had the time of my life, I would definitely recommend Overland!

Hotel-Hotel Riu Plaza The Gresham Dublin
Step into the formal world of the British Monarchy when you visit the stately and expansive Windsor Castle. His Majesty King Charles III uses Windsor as both a private home and as a Royal residence where formal duties of state are performed. Windsor’s 1,000 rooms comprise the largest inhabited castle in the world. It dates back to the 1070s, when William the Conqueror built the original wooden structure, now replaced by the grand stone edifices. Explore one of Britain’s most visited historic buildings, its precincts, and the State Apartments, which house a delightful collection of Royal art treasures. Enjoy time for lunch in the quaint town of Windsor before heading back to London. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit the castle that houses so much British history and lore is not to be missed!

A destination wedding in Ireland can be personal to couples with family ties to the Emerald Isle. However, even pairs who are only Irish on March 17th will also adore the fairytale-like landscape full of rolling hills, a rugged coastline and quaint B&Bs. Castle wedding venues in Ireland take the fairytale motif a step further, giving couples a chance to tie the knot in digs dripping with charm that's equally royal and romantic.
An Ireland castle wedding can be a lavish affair with a triple-digit guest count. However, small castle wedding venues in Ireland offer pairs opportunities for quiet, intimate affairs that still feel opulent. Getting married in Europe will involve a flight for US couples and guests, who may want to avoid navigating additional travel from venues to hotels. The good news? Some Ireland castle wedding venues are also hotels, offering couples and their guests the chance to spend the night in royal digs (and not have to worry about travel).
From castle wedding venues in Northern Ireland to those in Clare, these stunning spots are worth consideration as the spot to start your happily ever after.
Pro tip: Invite a destination wedding planner to join your vendor team. Browse travel specialists near you on The Knot Vendor Marketplace for reviews, testimonials and more.

The sprawling 1,000-acre countryside hideaway is still run by its family and lauded as Europe's Most Romantic Hotel. This romance extends to wedding planning. Pairs can choose from the old-world grandeur of the castle itself for smaller weddings of 70 guests (midweek only). A Pavillion beside Glaslough can host up to 260 guests, but the quiet countryside refuge will make even lavish affairs feel peaceful. How to Choose a Wedding Venue in Ireland
Planning an Ireland castle wedding can be fun. However, determining the best venue for you can be a challenge if you're planning from the US. Scouring the Internet for reviews can help you pinpoint the best wedding venues in Ireland. Look for commentary on the venue staff's attention to detail and communication. Just remember that Ireland's time is ahead of ours in the US (four hours ahead of the East Coast, five ahead of Central, six ahead of Mountain and seven ahead of the Pacific Coast).
You can also look at photos to get an idea of what Ireland wedding venues look like from afar. Wedding planners who specialize in Irish destination weddings can also provide recommendations. Ireland's weather can be rainy. Even if you have your heart set on an al fresco ceremony and reception, you'll want to choose a venue with a worthy Plan B.
Your budget will also be an important factor (and remember, wedding venues in the Republic of Ireland use Euros, while those in Northern Ireland use the pound sterling). Opting for a package may be a way to get more for less.
Consider your desired headcount. Small castle weddings and larger soirees are all available in Ireland, but some venues will have minimums, and all will have a maximum capacity. If it's not available on the website, a member of the events team will be able to tell you.
Finally, consider what you'd like your planning process to be like. Do you want a venue to include a dedicated wedding planner , or would you rather bring in your own? Do you want a package to help streamline the need to find vendors from afar, or do you wish to go the bespoke route? Do you want a castle wedding venue that doubles as a hotel to cut down on the need to travel, or do you crave a change of scenery? Do you plan to host your reception at the venue or just the ceremony? It's all personal preference, but some venues may offer these options.
