"THE PEGASUS DREAM TOUR" has ended its services as of January 31, 2022, due to the expiration of our official Paralympic Games license agreement with the IPC（International Paralympic Committee）.

Since its launch on June 24, 2021, "THE PEGASUS DREAM TOUR" has been developed and operated with the aim of making the Paralympics known to everyone, enabling users to enjoy the experience, and contributing to the resolution of social issues in a sustainable manner. The application has been downloaded approximately 200,000 times, and the TikTok hashtag "#PegasusDT" has been viewed approximately 30 million times by users in Japan and overseas.

The World’s First Official Paralympics Video Game “The Pegasus Dream Tour”

Creating a Paralympic experience where players are involved not only as spectators but as participants as well

We proposed a new era of Paralympics spectating, where people who were unable to attend the Paralympics could enjoy the games together with people from all over the world. The five events included boccia, 100m sprint, wheelchair racing, blind soccer, and wheelchair basketball.

A sustainable city created by up-and-coming artists that will focus on a better future.

The game is set in Pegasus City, which serves as a testing ground for a utopian future. Our goal is to create a space where the individuality of each person is fully respected and where everyone can lead positive lives.

This massive avatar RPG features Mine, a dynamic avatar that is aiming to become a successful para-athlete!

The game generates the advanced avatar “Mine” based on the player’s own photograph taken with their smartphone, Mine can freely roam the city and participate in competitions while channeling its experiences back to the player in a dynamic manner.

World’s first official Paralympic video game launched

The first official Paralympic video game ‘The Pegasus Dream Tour’ has been launched and is now available worldwide for download on App Store and Play Store.

Developed by JP Games, a studio founded by renowned Japanese game director Hajime Tabata, with the support of Worldwide Paralympic Partners Bridgestone and Ottobock, ‘The Pegasus Dream Tour’ is an avatar role-playing game (Massive Avatar RPG). It places players into a virtual Paralympic Games held in a fantasy, futuristic, inclusive and diverse metropolis known as Pegasus City. Its deputy mayor is none other than Doraemon, one of Japan’s most iconic characters. 

The development of ‘The Pegasus Dream Tour’ video game is part of the International Paralympic Committee’s (IPC) efforts to bring Para sports to a new and young audience. At the same time, it aims to highlight the benefits of video games to inspire positive change and tackle social issues. It has already seen real-world athletes, artists and influencers come together to raise awareness about the Paralympics. 

IPC Chief Brand & Communications Officer Craig Spence said: “The launch of Pegasus Dream Tour is a wonderful opportunity to connect with and further promote Para sports across new and younger audiences in an innovative and fun way.

“Pegasus Dream Tour will bring together gaming and sport enthusiasts from all around the globe, who will have the opportunity to enjoy a Paralympic experience from the comfort of their homes not as mere spectators but as participants as well.”

Ryoji Yamada, Executive Director of Corporate Communications Division, Bridgestone Cooperation, added: “Bridgestone was proud to be the first partner of The Pegasus Dream Tour when it began development in 2019, and we are excited to see this truly innovative video game come to life through its official launch.

The game generates an advanced avatar named ‘Mine’, which pursues its dreams of becoming a Para athlete and is created based on the player’s own face through a photo taken with their smartphones. Mine can forge new relationships with other avatars by freely roaming the city and participating in different competitions.

As Mine goes about its life with its forward-looking attitude and matures, the player will also be inspired and motivated by their alter ego to lead a positive and healthy life.

Players can participate in boccia, football 5-a-side, athletics and wheelchair basketball online tournaments and interact with other players as they take part in this immersive Paralympic experience not only as spectators, but as actual participants.

  Players are also encouraged to communicate and collaborate with each another in order to tackle various issues and help Pegasus City evolve and build a better future together.

They will also come together for a series of in-game experiences including the “Pegasus Avatar GALA Party”, a live event that will feature popular artists who share the game’s mission of advancing social contributions through gaming.

Japanese sporting legend and two-time figure skating Olympic champion Yuzuru Hanyu has been named as one of the video game’s ambassadors. 

“I am honoured to have been appointed as the ambassador for The Pegasus Dream Tour. As someone who enjoys games and an athlete as well, I look forward to this wonderful opportunity to experience the excitement of the Paralympics through gaming. I will also be appearing as a character in the game, and I hope to meet you in Pegasus City!”

Pegasus City was created by a team of up-and-coming female creative artists whose goal is to create a space where the individuality of each person is fully respected and where everyone can lead positive lives.

  The video game’s original music is composed by Harvard and Juilliard School-graduate violinist Sumire Hirotsuru.

‘The Pegasus Dream Tour’ is available in five languages: Japanese, English, French, German and Spanish.

In addition, Japanese mascot Kumamom, real-life sport journalists and nine of the world’s best Para athletes will show up in the game such as Japan’s boccia player Takayuki Hirose, Canadian wheelchair basketball player Patrick Anderson, New Zealand’s field athlete Holly Robinson and Argentina's football 5-a-side legend Silvio Velo.

They are joined by Worldwide Paralympic Partner Bridgestone-supported athletes Manami Tanaka (wheelchair tennis, Japan), Kohei Kobayashi (badminton, Japan), Rie Ogura (badminton, Japan), Scout Bassett (athletics, USA) and Chaiwat Rattana (athletics, Thailand).

Updated Pegasus World Cup 2022: Who's in? Who's out?

Following the second of three invitation lists for the Grade 1, $3 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational  issued on Sunday, the prospective field for the Jan. 29 race is coming into clearer focus.

This week the connections for eight of the 17 horses invited, including two on the also-eligible list, confirmed they planned to run in the 1 1/8-miles event at Gulfstream Park. The Pegasus has a maximum field size of 12.

The final invitation list will be issued on Sunday with the race set to be drawn Tuesday. Below is an updated status report on the prospective field.

In: Knicks Go, Life Is Good, Sir Winston, Chess Chief, Stilleto Boy, Title Ready, Commandeer (also eligible), Endorsed (also eligible).

The new names confirmed since last week’s report are Chess Chief and Title Ready for trainer Dallas Stewart, plus Commandeer for trainer James Toner, who is on the also-eligible list.

Toner told Horse Racing Nation that Commandeer, who exits an allowance win at Churchill Downs on Nov. 25, would run “if he draws in.” The Pegasus would be the first stakes try for the 4-year-old son of Street Boss. Commandeer has a record of 10: 3-2-2 and earnings of $142,114 for AJ Suited Racing Stable.

After being undecided on Chess Chief last week, Dallas Stewart told HRN on Wednesday he would join stablemate Title Ready in the starting gate.

"Both will run in the Pegasus," Stewart confirmed.

Chess Chief exits a win in the Dec. 26 Tenacious Stakes at Fair Grounds. He also is entered in Saturday’s Louisiana Stakes (G3) at Fair Grounds featuring Mandaloun and Midnight Bourbon but presumably will be scratched. Reylu Gutierrez is booked to ride Chess Chief in the Pegasus.

Trainer Mike Maker also plans to enter Endorsed if he gets in, which appears likely.

Possible: Law Professor, Happy American (also eligible).

Southern California-based Law Professor received invites to both the Pegasus World Cup and Pegasus World Cup Turf (G1) for trainer Michael McCarthy following his win in the off-the-turf Mathis Brothers Mile (G3) at Santa Anita on Dec. 26. McCarthy was non-committal for Law Professor’s Pegasus participation as of Wednesday.

“Nothing concrete yet, both races appear tough regardless of field size,” McCarthy said.

Trainer Neil Pessin is undecided if Happy American will contest the Pegasus. The 4-year-old Runhappy colt was beaten a nose by Chess Chief when second in the Tenacious, which followed a pair of allowance wins at Churchill Downs.

Out/unlikely: Olympiad, Happy Saver, Fearless, Super Stock, Ginobili, American Theorem (also eligible), Forewarned (also eligible).

Olympiad, who was a troubled fourth in last month’s Cigar Mile (G1) for trainer Bill Mott, received his invitation Sunday, the day after rolling to a 7 1/4-length allowance win at Gulfstream Park when going two turns for the first time. Mott said it was “highly unlikely” the 4-year-old Speightstown colt would be wheeled back in two weeks for the Pegasus.

Trainer Todd Pletcher said last week he planned to start only Life Is Good, as Happy Saver was a candidate for next month’s rich Saudi Cup. Last Saturday, Happy Saver had just his first work since finishing second in the Nov. 26 Clark (G1).

Super Stock was ruled out of the Pegasus by trainer Steve Asmussen in a text message Wednesday. “He’s not coming,” the Hall of Famer confirmed.

Southern California-based American Theorem was among the new invitees, but he is unlikely to make the cross-country trip. Trainer George Papaprodromou said he likely will stick with the original plan and keep American Theorem at Santa Anita to contest the $200,000 San Pasqual (G2) on Feb. 5 followed by potentially the Santa Anita Handicap (G1).
