This luxury world cruise will take guests to 6 continents for around $92K

regent seven seas cruises news

On a new Regent Seven Seas Cruises itinerary, guests can travel to six continents in serious style.

The luxury cruise line’s 2027 World Cruise – World of Splendor will sail for 140 nights, and feature some of its most lavish accommodations.

“We have seen continued interest and demand to venture further afield and for longer durations and so we are thrilled to announce that our 2027 World Cruise will take place on board Seven Seas Splendor, offering more luxury travelers the opportunity to enjoy this once-in-a-lifetime experience,” Regent President Andrea DeMarco said in a news release Wednesday.

Seven Seas Splendor debuted in 2020. The sailing marks the first time the ship's 4,443-square-foot Regent Suite (also on the line’s other Explorer-Class vessels) will be available on a world cruise, giving passengers a spacious home away from home as they visit 40 countries – though the cruise features a wide range of fares.

When is Regent Seven Seas’ 2027 world cruise?

The 746-guest ship will depart from Miami on Jan. 11, 2027, from Miami, Florida, and the cruise will end in New York. Travelers can also book a shorter 126-night option ending in Civitavecchia, Italy.

Where will the cruise visit?

Guests will visit 71 ports in the Caribbean; the Pacific Islands; Australia; New Zealand; Asia; Africa and Europe. Those include 14 overnight stays in destinations including Panama City, Panama; Los Angeles; Sydney, Australia; Singapore; Malé in the Maldives and Mumbai, India.

The fare also includes 486 shore excursions and shoreside experiences. Guests can sample cuisine and watch dancing that showcases local history at a street festival in Colombo, Sri Lanka, for example, or attend a 1920s-themed event in Málaga, Spain featuring a haute couture display, classic cars and more.

What is a world cruise?: It's not a 'shoot-from-the-hip decision'

How much does the cruise cost?

Accommodations on the all-suite ship start at $91,499 per person for a 307-square-foot Veranda Suite. The largest category, the Regent Suite – which has a 1,300-square-foot wraparound veranda; an in-room spa area with a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room; a personal car and driver during each stop and more – runs $839,999 per guest.

In addition to many shore excursions, the fares include round-trip, intercontinental flights in business class from the U.S. and Canada; food; drinks including wine and spirits; Wi-Fi; valet laundry and more. Guests can indicate their interest by pre-registering on Regent’s website before the cruise opens for bookings on April 10.

Seven Seas Voyager Adriatic Elegance Trieste, Italy to Athens (Piraeus), Greece October 5, 2024 – 10 nights Experience Immersive Overnights in three of the Adriatic's finest cities – Trieste, Italy ; Zadar, Croatia ; and Kotor, Montenegro – before sailing to Athens (Piraeus) for two nights on this elegant 10-night adventure.

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Zadar Sunset Serenade

Luxury travelers will explore the gems of the Adriatic Sea on board Seven Seas Voyager , including Zadar, Croatia . Cruising the sheltered waters of Jazine Bay as the sun begins to set, the ancient city is perfect for leisurely exploration. The cruise will offer a unique perspective of Zadar – the oldest continuously inhabited city in Croatia – which will look all the more radiant at dusk when the sky becomes a canvas of vibrant colors. Guests will disembark at the Sea Organ, a set of marble steps that plays harmonic sounds when seawater rushes through pipes fitted with whistles beneath the steps. The phenomenon is adjacent Greeting to the Sun, a solar-powered monument that creates an imaginative light show each evening. Both multi-sensory attractions helped fuel Zadar's resurgence. In the peninsular city center, portions of Roman-built fortified walls and an excavated forum whose construction started during the reign of Augustus – the first Roman emperor – are the perfect setting for exploration.

Seven Seas Voyager Majestic Mediterranean Istanbul, Turkey to Barcelona, Spain October 27, 2024 – 10 nights Luxuriate in four of the world's most dynamic cities – Istanbul, Turkey ; Dubrovnik, Croatia ; Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy ; and Barcelona, Spain – on this 10-night Immersive Overnights journey to the Mediterranean.

Sample Day Shore Excursion: Bocelli Music & Art

Guests will enjoy a private piano concert and lunch at a restaurant in Rome and see the Eternal City's signature attractions on a panoramic tour. The immersion into all things Roman will begin with an enlightening drive through the capital, perfect for spotting icons such as the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain and Circus Maximus, the massive stadium where the Romans once held chariot races. It will also serve as the venue for the piano concert of Italian classics with an accomplished singer as accompaniment. During the inspired lunch that follows, wines produced on the Tuscan estate of Andrea Bocelli's family will complement each course. The sommelier will describe the characteristics of the wines and how the Bocellis produce them. Guests will then view even more iconic locations such as St. Peter's Square while exploring Vatican City .

Seven Seas Navigator Mediterranean Tapestry Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy to Barcelona, Spain November 15, 2024 – 7 nights Experience the best of Italian, French and Catalan art, food, and culture on this 7-night Immersive Overnights journey to Rome (Civitavecchia), Italy ; Tuscany ( Livorno), Italy ; Toulon, France ; and Barcelona, Spain .

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Sunset Wine Tasting & Dinner at a Tuscan Villa

Savor the sumptuous flavors of the Mediterranean in quaint tavernas and historic villas, including Villa Dianella, an elegant Tuscan estate where the famed Medici family hunted during the 16th century. As an introduction to the area, travelers will first explore the nearby town of San Miniato. Perched atop a ridge high above the Arno Valley, the town is known for its white truffles, including a record-breaking one that weighed well over four pounds. Following a full day of exploration, gourmands will enjoy a wine tasting and beautiful evening meal at Villa Dianella, prepared with locally sourced Tuscan ingredients. The seasonal menu may include a paccheri pasta with pecorino cheese and a wonderfully seasoned chicken dish with roasted vegetables. The tasting in the wine cellar will be just as memorable as the selections will be organic – guests will sample a blend made with Sangiovese and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes and perhaps an Orpicchio white varietal.

Seven Seas Explorer Blossoms, Towers and Temples Tokyo, Japan to Tokyo, Japan March 5, 2025 – 14 nights Embarking from Tokyo , guests will experience Immersive Overnights in Kyoto (via Kobe ), Japan ; Seoul (Incheon), South Korea ; Shanghai, China ; and Japan's glittering capital Tokyo on this 14-night Asian adventure.

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Seoul Night & Temple Cuisine

In Seoul, South Korea explore landmarks that define the capital's past and present at night, when the sprawling urban landscape is beautifully illuminated. Few places in Seoul are more historic than Gwanghwamun Square, which has been a public gathering place for centuries. It features statues of two revered figures – King Sejong, who developed a phonetic system for writing the Korean language, and Yi Sun -sin, a brilliant 16th-century admiral renowned for his victories over the Japanese navy. A delightful meal of dishes that originated in Buddhist temples will follow. Temple cuisine is typically devoid of pungent vegetables such as onions and garlic as they are thought to hinder spiritual practices. For a glimpse at Seoul's vision for the future, stops to photograph Dongdaemum Design Plaza, a cultural hub with a bold amorphous design, and pausing at Sebit Islets – the world's first floating cultural space – are essential. Sebit Islets will look especially dramatic with its LED lights reflecting off the Hangang River.

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Relaxing Shanghai Night Excursion

Guests will spend a stress-free, wonderfully serene evening in Shanghai . The experience will begin with a traditional Chinese foot massage in which pressure is applied to specific points on the soles of the feet that supposedly correspond to certain organs. Benefits may include restoring the natural flow of bodily energy. The foot massage will leave guests well-prepared to browse the Shanghai History Museum, whose dioramas tell the story of Shanghai's evolution decade by decade. The collection is absolutely astounding as it contains priceless pieces in every imaginable category, including calligraphy, textiles and jade ware. A short walk will bring guests to the Super Brand Mall for an extraordinary meal of traditional Shanghai cuisine.

Seven Seas Splendor Flair, Flavor and Culture Monte Carlo, Monaco to Athens (Piraeus), Greece April 20, 2025 – 10 nights Embarking from glamorous Monte Carlo , this 10-night Immersive Overnights sojourn sails on to Salerno, Italy for two nights, then Ephesus (Kusadasi), Turkey and Athens (Piraeus), Greece for one night each.

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Wine & Dine Experience on the Amalfi Coast

Sample an inspiring selection of organic wines and savor an equally delightful dinner at Le Vigne Di Raito, a boutique winery on the Amalfi Coast. The experience will begin with a walking tour of the vineyard, which although relatively young has already yielded award-winning wines. Travelers will hear about the winery's environmentally friendly practices and the unique terroir that encourages grapes such as Aglianico and Piedirosso to flourish. A tasting follows in the cellar, during which oenophiles will enjoy sampling flagship wines made from blends of those grapes – a ruby-red Ragis with hints of Mediterranean vegetation and a Vitamenia Rosé with crispy hints of citrus fruits. After retiring to a private terrace, a home-cooked dinner of seasonal dishes made with locally sourced ingredients will be served. A natural jam made with organic lemons from trees planted among the grape vines is often available as it is delicious on cheese.

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Michelin-Star Coastline Dinner & Athens excursion

During an overnight in Athens , settle in for a panoramic drive through the Greek capital at dusk, passing one ancient or modern landmark after another – including the Arch of Hadrian, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, and even a statue of Lord Byron, the famed English poet who died in 1824 during the Greek War of Independence – while Athens becomes fully illuminated. Following the drive, guests will dine at seaside Varoulko, an acclaimed Greek restaurant overlooking Mikrolimano Harbor. During the meal, Varoulko's coveted Michelin star will become obvious. Chef Lefteris Lazarou's inspiring menu focuses on fresh seafood, purchased each morning in local markets. Dishes may include octopus carpaccio, sesame-crusted tuna and the catch of the day.

Seven Seas Navigator Enchantment in Northern Europe Copenhagen to Stockholm June 27, 2025 – 10 night Immersive Overnights in Copenhagen, Denmark ; Berlin (Warnemunde, 2 nights); Helsinki, Finland ; and Stockholm, Sweden (2 nights) on this 10-night exploration of some of Northern Europe's most culturally rich cities.

Sample Evening Shore Excursion: Private Evening at Prince Eugen's Waldemarsuddde

In the Swedish capital Stockholm , browse the impressive collection of art at Waldemarsudde, the former home of Prince Eugen , which has been converted into an acclaimed museum that will open after-hours exclusively for an evening event. Born into royalty, Eugen became one of Sweden's foremost landscape painters and an avid art collector with a keen eye. His early 20th-century Art Nouveau residence holds many of his finest works and objects of art that the prince collected over the years. The estate and museum opened to the public shortly after his death in 1947 and has since become one of Stockholm's most popular attractions. On the enlightening tour through Waldemarsudde, expect to see the prince's studio, his private living quarters and some of his most inspiring landscapes. Although the collection features mainly Swedish artists, it also includes works by Picasso, Rodin and Edvard Munch . Even the setting of Waldemarsudde on the island oasis Djurgården is magnificent.

Regent Seven Seas unveils epic, months-long 2025 world cruise

Melissa Klurman

Looking for a luxurious, immersive cruise where you won't have to worry about disembarking after just a week or two? Regent Seven Seas Cruises just announced the longest cruise in the line's history, an epic 150-day journey that will reach all five continents and call on ports spanning from Australia to Alaska and from Asia to the Antarctic aboard the 700-passenger Seven Seas Mariner.

The 2025 world cruise — Away in Wonder — will set sail Jan. 7, 2025, from Miami and visit 97 ports of call in 25 countries, traversing three oceans and 36,295 nautical miles over more than five months. It officially ends in San Francisco on June 6, 2025.

The epic cruise will also include two new ports of call for Regent — remote Robinson Crusoe Island off the coast of Chile and Muroran on the Japanese island of Hokkaido. As if that weren't enough, the extensive itinerary will also include a three-day excursion into the Antarctic.

Fares for the sailing start at $86,999 per person for a deluxe veranda suite and $249,999 per guest to stay in the ultra-luxurious Master Suite.

Regent typically offers one world cruise every year, and they sell out quickly. In fact, the 2024 voyage sold out in less than three hours, despite fares that reached nearly $400,000 for two for the 132-night itinerary.

The even more extensive 2025 world cruise, the longest in Regent's history, should get similar attention when bookings open later this year on June 15.

"We know that our guests are looking for extended travel in exotic destinations, which is why we are incredibly excited to unveil the longest World Cruise in our 30-year history," said Jason Montague, president and chief executive officer of Regent Seven Seas Cruises in a statement.

"Over 150 nights, travelers will not only experience the highest standards of service, cuisine and enrichment, plus enjoy a delightful array of luxury amenities, but they will also sail as far south as Antarctica, as far east as Asia and as far north as Alaska — all in one single, epic voyage as they sail Away in Wonder."

Regent is known for its luxurious ships, spacious all-suite cabins (including the largest suite ever built on a luxury ship), attentive service, gourmet dining and a range of included amenities and perks reflected in fares that usually average $1,000 per person, per day. With their plush interiors and particularly high staff-to-guest ratio, Regent ships feel like the floating equivalent of the most lauded land-based resorts.

The line also is one of the most all-inclusive in the cruise industry, with almost every element of the cruise experience, including drinks and shore excursions, included in the fare. Passengers on the 2025 world cruise will have complimentary access to 395 shore excursions , including visits to 48 UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The voyage will also include 16 overnight stays in ports for deep exploration of travel favorites such as Rio de Janeiro, Bora Bora and Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

For travelers looking to add even more ports to their 150-night cruise and make the journey a roundtrip sail from Miami, Regent will offer passengers the option to tack an additional 18-night sailing from San Francisco to the Mexican Riviera to the end of their world cruise. This itinerary will visit ports in Costa Rica and Colombia, among others, and include a full transit of the Panama Canal, before arriving back in Miami.

Regent Seven Seas Cruises, voted one of Travel + Leisure readers' favorite midsize-ship ocean cruise lines in our 2023 World's Best Awards , is well-known for incredible service and an all-inclusive rate that includes everything from business-class flights to unlimited shore excursions. The luxury cruise line's sixth ship, the Seven Seas Grandeur, set sail for its inaugural season at the end of 2024. The ship was named one of T+L's best places to travel in 2024 , and I was on board the ship’s three-night christening sailing for a first look inside the stunning new vessel.

It was clear from the moment my mom and I stepped on board that one of the ship’s greatest luxuries — beyond fine dining, a multimillion-dollar art collection, and gorgeous common areas — is space. With a maximum of 746 guests per sailing, Grandeur is a far cry from mega-ships where pool crowds and buffet lines are the norm. With spacious all-suite, all-balcony accommodations and intimate specialty restaurants, the ship felt lively but never crowded. Designed by Studio DADO, the ship's dazzling common areas are decorated with a 1,600-piece art collection including multiple Picassos and the first-ever Fabergé Egg to be permanently installed at sea. (Sarah Fabergé, founding member of The Fabergé Heritage Council and great-granddaughter of Peter Carl Fabergé, is the ship’s godmother.)

Elizabeth Rhodes/Travel + Leisure

  • All-suite, all-balcony accommodations provide thoughtful touches and ample space to spread out.
  • Seven dining venues — including signature restaurant Compass Rose, Asian-inspired Pacific Rim, and more — offer 130 new dishes, including many plant-based options.
  • A 1,600-piece art collection includes “Journey in Jewels,” the first Fabergé Egg to permanently reside on a cruise ship.
  • Regent is an all-inclusive cruise line, so everything from flights and unlimited shore excursions to alcoholic beverages, valet laundry service, and dining at specialty restaurants are included in the rate.

While cruises are often about the ports of call, the Seven Seas Grandeur — sibling ship to RSSC's Seven Seas Explorer and Seven Seas Splendor , is a destination in itself. In fact, although my mom and I were tempted by the unlimited included shore excursions at our port in the Bahamas, we opted to stay on board to experience every amenity the ship had to offer.

Here, my review of the Regent Seven Seas Grandeur .

On Grandeur , 373 guest accommodations range from the entry-level Veranda Suites to the one-of-a-kind, 4,443-square-foot Regent Suite. Deluxe Veranda and Veranda Suites offer up to 361 square feet of space, outfitted with upscale finishes and, of course, their own balconies. I stayed in a Concierge Suite, of which there are 140 on board. With a super-comfortable Elite Slumber bed facing the balcony, a very spacious walk-in closet, and a bathroom with two sinks, a shower, and a separate tub, this suite offered plenty of storage and lots of room to spread out.

Besides the bright and open design in ocean-inspired hues of blue and cream, I loved the attention to detail in my suite, down to the field glasses sitting in the cabinet, ready to help you spot wildlife or faraway islands. The two-bedroom, two-and-a-half bath Regent Suite, priced at $11,000 per night, offers spectacular amenities including its own hot tub, unlimited spa services offered in-suite, and private dining in a room hidden between two of the ship’s specialty restaurants.

There are seven unique dining venues and several bars located throughout the ship, and specialty restaurants are included in the rate. Over 130 new dishes were added to the menus on Grandeur , and there are more than 200 plant-based options served across the ship for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Compass Rose, Regent’s signature restaurant, received a gorgeous transformation by Studio DADO for Grandeur ; behind a metal waterfall-like sculpture, guests will find an illuminated dining room that resembles a magical forest.

Prime 7 is the ship’s steakhouse, redesigned with influences from New York City’s classic 20th-century steakhouses. Chartreuse celebrates classic French cooking and glamour with a dining room inspired by the Parisian metro’s art nouveau stations and Coco Chanel’s designs. The entrance to Pacific Rim, a pan-Asian specialty restaurant serving sushi, dim sum, and more, is marked by an impressive bonsai cherry tree sculpture by Savoy Studios.

La Veranda is the ship’s main buffet restaurant for breakfast and lunch; during our sailing, we enjoyed sushi, lobster, paella, salads, and a very delicious cronut during casual meals here. In the evening, La Veranda becomes Sette Mari at La Veranda, a table-service restaurant serving Italian food. If you want a classic cheeseburger, lobster nachos, or a Korean fried chicken sandwich — or even just a milkshake by the pool — the Pool Grill has you covered with relaxed al fresco eats. And the baristas at Coffee Connection are ready to make your espresso drinks just the way you like them. On our third day, the barista actually had my mom’s coffee ready as soon as she sat down — she didn’t even have to order, he just remembered how she liked it.

Of course, if you’d rather take your meals in your beautiful suite, you can also enjoy included room service 24 hours a day.

There are several bars and lounges on board, too: The Meridian Lounge, where you’ll find daily afternoon tea service (a personal favorite) and live entertainment in the evenings; the lively Grandeur Lounge located across from the casino; and the Observation Lounge, with incredible ocean views during the day and live piano at night.

Where Regent Seven Seas Grandeur Sails

Regent Seven Seas Grandeur will spend its nearly sold-out 2024 sailing the Caribbean, Central America, North America, and Europe; itineraries range from seven to 16 nights. This summer, a seven-night Mediterranean Sea cruise will visit ports in Italy, Malta, and Spain, for example.  Later in the season, a 10-night roundtrip cruise from Miami will include stops in the Dominican Republic, Puerto Rico, St. Barts, Antigua, and the British Virgin Islands.

Regent includes unlimited shore excursions on every sailing so guests can take full advantage of what each port has to offer. On our cruise to Freeport, Bahamas, excursions included swimming with the pigs at a local beach, relaxing at a nearby resort, snorkeling, touring Grand Bahama Island on a Jeep safari, and more. You can find a list of shore excursions on the Regent website for each port before booking, and you can book them online starting at 365 days before your cruise if you booked a suite with concierge amenities or 300 days in advance without concierge benefits. While there are typically several free options for every port, Regent Choice Shore Excursions are also available for an additional charge.

Amenities and Entertainment

With a turquoise pool surrounded by dozens of sun loungers, several hot tubs, outdoor sports courts, and a host of daily activities ranging from trivia to live entertainment, there’s plenty to do on board the Regent Seven Seas Grandeur . Starting at the top on Deck 12, a bocce court, pickleball court, shuffleboard, a golf net, and a putting green with holes inspired by famous golf courses around the world offer fun ways to soak in the ocean views on a sea day. The Observation Lounge, Card Room, Connoisseur Club, and Library (with countless travel books stocked so you can read all about your next destination) on Deck 11 are cozy spots to unwind.

The Culinary Arts Kitchen — Regent’s cooking school at sea — is a gorgeous space where guests can learn how to make dishes inspired by the places they’re sailing to — without having to do any of the prep work or clean up. I took a class and learned how to make pasta al limone and crepes; I loved the hands-on instruction and picked up a few helpful tips to use when I cook at home.

The Serene Spa and Wellness section of the ship on Decks 5 and 6 includes a number of treatment rooms (including one with an amber and quartz bed), a gym with workout classes and fitness consultations, and a hydrothermal suite with a sauna, steam room, chill room, and experiential showers. There’s also an outdoor relaxation area with three whirlpools looking back over water; this was one of my favorite places to spend time admiring the ocean during our three-night cruise.

Split between Decks 4 and 5 is the Constellation Theater, the main entertainment venue where guests can watch four Broadway-style shows. I was thoroughly entertained by the "Marauder’s Ball," a pirate adventure told through pop songs and classic swashbuckling tunes. Also on Deck 4, guests can shop around the boutiques, play slots or table games at the glitzy casino, or hang out in the Grandeur Lounge.

Guests can also learn about some of the works in the ship’s 1,600-piece art collection through a digital art tour offered through the Regent app.

While not strictly an adults-only cruise line, Regent cruises are best for adults traveling without small children. The Club Mariner children’s program (for ages 5-17) is available on select sailings, but with many adult-focused spaces and entertainment, this ship is better suited for travelers without little ones. Under-16s are not allowed in the spa or fitness center.

There are a couple of handicap-accessible suites available on Grandeur featuring roll-in showers and other accessible features. There are elevators and ramps located throughout the common areas on the ship; I saw several guests navigating the ship using various mobility devices during my voyage.

Where to Go in 2024

I sailed on a new ultra-luxury cruise ship for wealthy travelers. I can never go back to a normal one.

  • Regent Seven Seas Cruises recently launched a new ultra-luxury ship, the Seven Seas Grandeur.
  • To attract wealthy travelers, the cruise ship is filled with luxuries like caviar and a $6 million art collection.
  • Its 2024 itineraries, which range from $4,115 to $84,000 per person, are worth the price — if you can afford it.

Insider Today

I vacationed how the "other half" vacations — aboard Regent Seven Seas Cruises' newest ship, the ultra-luxury Grandeur .

Unfortunately, I loved it.

After three nights aboard the $525.4 million vessel during its non-revenue "christening" sailing, I now understand why wealthy travelers are shelling out over $4,000 for one week on the floating resort.

Cruises have never been my preferred vacation option.

regent seven seas cruises news

But after Regent invited me to sail on its new Seven Seas Grandeur, I realized my problem: I just hadn't experienced an ultra-luxury ship yet.

While many cruise giants are cutting back on expenses, Regent Seven Seas is splurging big.

regent seven seas cruises news

Picture free-flowing champagne, caviar at every dinner, and cabins that could rival a five-star hotel.

With a guest capacity of 746, the 735-foot-long vessel was smaller than what I’m used to.

regent seven seas cruises news

Before this, I feared traveling on small cruise ships — I assumed there would be a lack of amenities.

Despite my early concerns, the Seven Seas Grandeur quickly became one of the best ships I’ve traveled on.

regent seven seas cruises news

Unlike most mass-market family friendly cruises , there were no loud water slides, busy arcades, or amenities designed for children.

Instead, the ship's quiet nooks, upscale ambiance, and attentive service made me feel at ease.

The Grandeur facilitated a peaceful three-night break from the hustle and bustle of my life on land.

regent seven seas cruises news

But peaceful doesn't mean boring. To keep the interior from feeling too dull, the neutral walls were decorated with an extensive art collection — worth $6 million, Regent Seven Seas touts. This includes several original Pablo Picasso pieces and a custom — but shockingly small — Fabergé egg.

On this note of excess luxury: During a 10-night sailing, the Grandeur will carry 1,200 pounds of lobster, 1,000 pounds of filet mignon, and 20 pounds of caviar, according to its operator.

regent seven seas cruises news

Meanwhile, Royal Caribbean rolled back its unlimited "lobster night" in 2022.

And unlike the larger operator— which offers a cheaper base fee but upcharges on drink, food, and WiFi packages — Regent Seven Seas is all-inclusive.

regent seven seas cruises news

No need to pull out your wallet unless you want more expensive wines or excursions. Flights to and from the ship, other excursions, drinks, and food are all included in the fare.

Yes, this includes dinners at specialty restaurants. No need to pay extra for the foie gras-topped beef tenderloin or the whole lobster.

regent seven seas cruises news

Besides the less-than-mediocre sashimi platter, the food aboard the Grandeur was the best I've had on a ship.

Every menu had black truffles, foie gras, or caviar.

regent seven seas cruises news

Remember the Picassos? Three of them were hung up in the steakhouse, Prime 7.

If steaks aren’t your thing, the ship also also two buffets and pan-Asian, French, and Italian restaurants.

regent seven seas cruises news

In the largest dining room, Compass Rose, every diner had two Versace plates and a customizable menu that let guests pair proteins and pasta with various sauces and sides.

The Versace plates were admittedly over the top — the larger of the two were just for show, removed before the food came.

At French-influenced Chartreuse, I dined on mushroom soup and steak tartare topped with a layer of sturgeon caviar.

regent seven seas cruises news

And at Pan-Asian Pacific Rim, I gnawed on soft-shell crabs fried to crispy perfection and glutinous char siu-inspired ribs.

Even the poolside buffet was a decadent feast.

regent seven seas cruises news

During the one-day Italian-themed afternoon buffet, diners were greeted with raw oysters, various focaccias, and fresh tuna.

Other than the cured meats and cheeses table, this buffet wasn’t very “Italian.”

regent seven seas cruises news

But I'm not complaining — it was the best cruise meals I've had so far.

It wouldn’t be a cruise without some booze. The Grandeur did this a bit differently.

regent seven seas cruises news

Unlike most ships, alcohol wasn't the main attraction. Instead, bars served as a backdrop to venues like the lounges, pool deck, and even the coffee shop.

I spent most of my time at the latter, which became my remote office while working at sea. (I spent most of my time complaining about the slow WiFi).

regent seven seas cruises news

Instead of a typical grab-and-go coffee counter, patrons seated themselves at the surrounding tables. Waiters then came to take their coffee and espresso orders.

But for afternoons when I craved sunlight, I found the pool deck to be a quiet and calm workspace as well — that is until the DJ arrived.

regent seven seas cruises news

Rows of lounge chairs, many shaded or located on the upper deck, surrounded this small pool deck. Again, instead of ordering at the bar, waiters approached sunbathing guests for their drink orders, this time boozier.

The pool deck was never too crowded.

regent seven seas cruises news

While this could have been a product of my non-revenue sailing, it made this open-air space a peaceful destination.

Travelers seeking a quieter reprieve can head to the stocked library or one of the three lounges.

regent seven seas cruises news

At night, some of these lounges adopted a club-like atmosphere.

During afternoons at sea, the Grandeur also hosted classic cruise programming like live music, a corn hole competition, and trivia.

regent seven seas cruises news

Like other premium cruises , there was an afternoon tea service with desserts and sandwiches. It was one of the only activities I felt compelled to attend.

Unfortunately, the typical nighttime cruise show wasn't my favorite.

regent seven seas cruises news

As expected, "Marauders' Ball" — a song-and-dance performance that covered popular hit songs — was a hard watch. While the costume designs were fun, the plot was confusing and the songs were predictable and cheesy.

But I’ll overlook this show for all the other complimentary amenities, of which there were plenty.

regent seven seas cruises news

Access to spa amenities like the humid aromatherapy room, beverages in the cabin, and laundry were included in the fare.

Dispel whatever stereotypes you may have about cruise ship staterooms: All of the 373 cabins had a balcony.

regent seven seas cruises news

My 322-square-foot concierge suite — which had an additional 83- to 132-square-foot balcony — was so large, I had no idea what to do with the extra space.

There was even a walk-in closet, though it was quite narrow.

regent seven seas cruises news

For what it's worth, I never thought I'd be complaining about a walk-in closet in my cruise stateroom.

But at a steep 2024 starting price of $5,455 per person for a seven-night cruise, wouldn't you want your concierge cabin to be faultless?

However, the rest of my cabin picked up the closet’s slack.

regent seven seas cruises news

The balcony was unnecessarily spacious, the espresso machine was stocked with Illy coffees, and the marble-detailed bathroom had both a walk-in shower and a bathtub.

My cabin also came with a complimentary bottle of Monopole champagne and a plate of fruit.

regent seven seas cruises news

If you regularly sail on premium cruise ships , you're probably already used to the free bottle of booze.

After non-revenue sailings like this, I always ask myself: could I stay here an entire week?

regent seven seas cruises news

Many new giant cruise ships have fun amenities like rock climbing walls, exhilarating slides, and even virtual reality arcades. While they're obviously designed for children, I'll admit I enjoy these onboard activities — they help pass the time.

The closest the Grandeur had to these was the sports deck complete with a mini-golf course, running track, and the expected pickleball court.

regent seven seas cruises news

I couldn't kill a few hours here like I could in an arcade.

But for once, I didn’t care: The ship was so peaceful, all I wanted to do was relax, take it slow, and enjoy the warm weather.

regent seven seas cruises news

And now that I've had a taste of what a true luxury cruise is like, it'll be hard to go back to the other ships. How will I ever survive a vacation without endless truffle and foie gras again?

Caviar just seems to taste better when it’s served on a swaying boat.

regent seven seas cruises news

And a quiet afternoon just seems more palatable when you're spending it in the complimentary sauna.

These bottomless luxuries don’t come cheap: Grandeur’s 2024 itineraries and cabins range from $4,115 to $84,000 per person.

regent seven seas cruises news

While these costs do include flights, almost $600 per person per night may seem unreasonable to most cruisers.

But if it’s within your budget, the Seven Seas Grandeur could be a great all-inclusive option.

regent seven seas cruises news

If you're someone who loves great views of the ocean, bottomless caviar tins, unlimited wines, and a peaceful ambiance, you'd probably love the Grandeur.

The wealthy sure know how to cruise in style.

If you can afford it, why not try it out?

regent seven seas cruises news

Even if you don't like the ship, at least excursions are included in the fare. The Grandeur will spend 2024 sailing around the Mediterranean and Caribbean.

Regent’s Seven Seas Society cruise loyalty program: The ultimate guide

MSN has partnered with The Points Guy for our coverage of credit card products. MSN and The Points Guy may receive a commission from card issuers.

Among luxury cruise lines, Regent Seven Seas Cruises has one of the most robust loyalty programs.

Despite being a relatively small brand with just five ships, it offers an impressive seven tiers of loyalty status as part of what it calls the Seven Seas Society. Each of the tiers brings a number of perks, some quite valuable.

As you start to rise through the Seven Seas Society tiers, you’ll find yourself rewarded with everything from onboard spending credits and free onboard Wi-Fi service to — at the highest levels — discounts of 5% to 10% on every cruise you book.

Those benefits work out to be real money in your pocket, as they will lower the cost of your cruise vacation.

For more cruise guides, news and tips, sign up for TPG’s cruise newsletter .

The robustness of Regent’s program is all the more impressive, given that the line is one of the most all-inclusive in the world. Regent includes a lot of benefits in its fares — such as drinks and shore excursions — that other lines give away only as loyalty perks to their best customers.

That leaves Regent with fewer perks to offer in its loyalty program. Still, it has come up with some creative ways to reward its most loyal fans, including several that will make a big impact on their wallets.

Ways to earn points

The points-earning system for the Seven Seas Society program is about as simple as can be: You will earn 1 point for every night you stay on a Regent ship.

That’s it. There are no bonus points for staying in a top suite, as there are at some lines. Nor will you get extra points for spending certain amounts of money with the line, as is sometimes the case.

The only exception to the above is for solo cruisers who pay a “single supplement” of 75% or more to stay in a cabin designed for two. They get 2 points for every night they stay on a ship.

For the most part, though, if you take a 10-night cruise with Regent, you will get 10 points (which the line calls “nights”). Take a 20-night cruise, and you will get 20 points.

Related: 5 secrets to getting a luxury cruise for less

Note that in most cases, your points will accrue upon completion of the cruise on which they are earned. In the case of Regent’s longer Grand Voyages and World Cruises, you’ll see your points pop into your account at the end of each official segment of the trip. (You can access your account and more information about Regent’s loyalty program at the Regent website ).

Either way, though, if the number of nights you are sailing during a cruise will elevate you to the next tier of rewards, you will enjoy instant recognition at the higher tier from the moment you board — a great feature of the program in our eyes.

One notable caveat to points earning in the program: You only will get credit for nights where you actually are present on a Regent ship. If you have to leave a cruise early, you won’t earn points for the nights you are not on board. You also won’t earn points for any nights spent in hotels as part of Regent’s pre- and post-cruise hotel and land programs.

Seven Seas Society tiers and benefits

There are seven tiers in the Seven Seas Society program:

  • Bronze (7-20 nights)
  • Silver (21-74 nights)
  • Gold (75-199 nights)
  • Platinum (200-399 nights)
  • Titanium (400-999 nights)
  • Diamond (1,000-1,999 nights)
  • Commodore (2,000-plus nights)

Regent only offers cruises of seven nights or longer, so you’ll be at the first tier of the program, Bronze, after a single sailing. If you book one of Regent’s longer sailings as your first cruise with the line, you might even catapult into the second or third tier of the program after just one sailing.

Related: A beginners guide to cruise line loyalty programs

As is typical for cruise line loyalty programs, the entry-level tier (Bronze) doesn’t bring all that much in terms of truly valuable rewards. The most alluring benefit at this level is the exclusive Seven Seas Society savings that are available on some departures.

In addition, Bronze members get:

  • Access to an online personal profile
  • An invitation to an onboard Seven Seas Society cocktail reception
  • Double loyalty points when paying extra to sail solo

The double loyalty points for sailing solo only apply when paying a “single supplement” of at least 75% of the regular cruise fare for a cabin designed for two people.

Upon reaching the second tier of the program, Silver, things start getting more interesting. In addition to the Bronze-level rewards, you’ll get priority access when making dinner reservations for the three main specialty restaurants on Regent ships: Prime 7, Chartreuse and Pacific Rim. This is a great perk as it’ll give you a better shot at getting the dinner times you want at these eateries.

The Silver level also will get you the following:

  • Priority online shore excursion reservations
  • One hour of complimentary phone time every time you sail
  • A commemorative pin
  • A newsletter

At the next level up (Gold), the perks include all of the above plus a $100 shipboard credit per suite every time you sail. We love that perk, as it amounts to real money in your pocket. Plus, you’ll get:

  • Unlimited Wi-Fi for free with four logins for up to four devices
  • Two more hours of free phone time (for three hours in total)
  • Priority disembarkation at voyage completion in select ports
  • Choice of newspaper service from papers around the world
  • Exclusive activities on board or ashore on every voyage

The Platinum level brings six more hours of phone time and complimentary luggage tags, two perks that don’t get us all that excited. The latter perk, in particular, is something that seems better in an entry-level tier (though to be fair, these luggage tags are made from quality leather).

But the Platinum level also adds the use of free custom air service once per sailing, which can come in handy. It lets you call a Regent concierge who will help customize your included-in-the-fare flights, so they work best for your schedule. Otherwise, you’re stuck with the flights that Regent picks for you or have to pay an extra charge to change them.

Related: Look inside Regent’s swankiest ship ever

The Platinum level also brings a 10% discount on Regent Choice shore excursions (the line’s collection of niche or intimate extra-fee tours), hotel and land programs. This one perk alone could end up saving you hundreds of dollars.

As noted above, you’ll be at the Bronze tier after just one sailing with Regent. Reaching the Silver tier could take as many as three cruises if you stick to seven-night sailings. But you also could reach it in just one longer cruise.

The number of cruises it’ll take you to reach the Gold and Platinum tiers will depend on whether you do short or long sailings. If you stick to seven-night sailings, you’d have to take a whopping 29 cruises to reach the Platinum tier. But there are super long Regent cruises, such as a 168-night world cruise planned for 2025, that will get you almost all the way to Platinum level with a single voyage.

The elite level that makes a difference

We like quite a few of the perks available at the Bronze through Platinum levels of the Seven Seas Society program. But it is at the Titanium level that things really start to impress us.

Specifically, the Titanium level comes with four really nice perks:

  • Free private transfers between your home or the airport and the ship, within a 100-mile radius, on embarkation and disembarkation day
  • Free unlimited dry cleaning
  • An additional 15% discount on Regent Choice shore excursions, hotels and land programs (for 25% total savings)
  • Access to your suite at 1 p.m. on embarkation day

We absolutely love the private-transfer perk, which lets you start and end your trips in style. There’s nothing like having a private car pick you up at home at the start of the trip or a chauffeur waiting for you upon arrival at the airport. We also love the free unlimited dry cleaning perk. The discounts on shore excursions, hotels and land programs at this level can save you big money — more than $1,000 when booking some add-on land programs.

Related: The best credit cards for booking cruises

Getting to the Titanium level in the Seven Seas Society takes a whole lot of cruising. At a minimum, you’d need to spend the equivalent of more than a year at sea to hit the 400-night threshold for the tier. You could do that by sailing 58 seven-night cruises, 29 two-week cruises or three world cruises (the latter typically lasting around 150 to 170 days).

Best Seven Seas Society elite perk

Regent’s Seven Seas Society program doesn’t include a truly over-the-top perk, like the free cruises that rival Silversea Cruises gives out to members who hit certain milestones. But we do appreciate the 5% and 10% discounts on cruise fares that the line offers to members who reach the Diamond and Commodore tiers, respectively. That can be worth thousands of dollars when booking some sailings. Note that these discounts are available on any sailing you book, not just select Seven Seas Society sailings (for which, as mentioned above, you can get discounts upon reaching the Bronze tier of the program).

Diamond-level members also get one free Regent Choice shore excursion per voyage segment, up to $250 in value, as well as an invitation to new ship christenings (something that doesn’t happen all that often, alas).

The Commodore level adds two more perks that, while not worth a huge amount monetarily, are about as cool as it gets in the world of loyalty programs:

  • A commemorative Commodore officers jacket
  • A commemorative plaque in your name placed on all ships in the Regent fleet

The cutoffs for the Diamond and Commodore tiers are 1,000 nights and 2,000 nights at sea, respectively — levels that only the most dedicated cruisers can reach. But with years of heavy sailings, the feat is doable.

Note that, as is often the case with cruise line loyalty programs, Regent customers do not have to requalify for status each year. Seven Seas Society members keep their points at the end of each year and continue to accrue points indefinitely. That means that someone who hits Commodore status (and gets that cool jacket) will remain at that top-tier level forever (or until Regent makes a change to the program).

Such “forever status” is one of the great allures of cruise line loyalty programs. Many airline frequent flyer programs, by contrast, require members to requalify for status each year.

Bottom line

Regent Seven Seas Cruises has a robust frequent cruiser program with some great perks at its higher tiers. While it doesn’t offer a single perk that is truly knock-your-socks-off, such as the free cruises that a few lines give to customers who reach high levels of status, it brings significant discounts and value-added perks that begin at mid-tier levels.

This is all the more impressive given that Regent is one of the most all-inclusive lines in cruising. Regent includes so many things in its fares — such as drinks, unlimited Wi-Fi and shore excursions — that it leaves very little available to offer to loyal customers as an upgrade other than straight-out discounts on trips. But the line has found other ways to add value  — from free concierge service when arranging flights to a commemorative Commodore jacket.
