Rihanna made her entrance through one of the tunnels like a boxer coming out for the main event. Concealing her face under a heavy hood, she slowly found her way onto the platform opposite the stage. A spotlight followed her every move, making the white robe glow, while phone lights provided stars to pierce through the dark night surrounding her. A single microphone waited on a stand as thunderous applause and ear-piercing screams filled the venue, and it served to silence the crowd in an instant. “All along it was a fever, a cold sweat hot-headed believer…” Having exposed nothing more than her unmistakable voice (and fingernails and unmistakable ass) to her audience, there was no doubt as to who was hiding under that robe. The entirety of “Stay” was performed from that position, before she revealed her face. Having attended close to a thousand concerts, it’s not often I find myself in awe at being in close proximity to a musician, but seeing Rihanna standing in front of me, in the flesh, made me realize what a cult of personality she has built around herself. As she continued the performance with “Love the Way You Lie (Part II)”, she was part pop diva, part rock star, part sex symbol, all while never being anything but Rihanna. She is still so young, yet has already solidified herself among the very few people in history who everyone will know by a single name. It was very in the show, but I was already convinced she had earned that status as well. Her voice is her defining talent, but her business acumen, stage presence, attitude, and beauty are what complete the package. - See more at: http://ilistensoyoudonthaveto.com/2016/05/10/rihanna-viejas-arena-05-09-16/#sthash.AluW51yF.dpuf

With all that has happened in France recently, Rihanna faced a stiff challenge getting Parisians and herself in a summery party mood at the Stadt De France.

However, she seemed to instinctively make the right choices to tap into the crowds fears, their need to reflect and their right to sing and dance without care. Rihanna opened the show hidden beneath a white hooded sweater and sang the wistful 'Stay' - a song whose lyrics took on a lot of ambivalence given the current political climate.

The songs from her Anti album were well received even though their lazy, sexy groove is more suited to a more intimate arena. Among the many hits from the album, 'Desperado' and 'Kiss it Better' stood out as they showcased Rihanna's scything vocals and Prince-like funk.

Rihanna also expertly mixed in medleys of favourites such as 'Umbrella', 'Man Down' and 'We Found Love in a Hopeless Place.' An undoubted highlight was 'Diamonds' which was introduced with a genuinely heartfelt speech by Rihanna expressing support for peace and the people of France. She then asked for the stadium to send out its light to France by way of illuminated mobile phones and the result was a spectacular touching moment.

By the end of the show, everyone had fallen more in love with Rihanna and headed back into the dark Parisian night with a little more light in their hearts and minds.

You've seen her music videos. You follow her on twitter. You follow her style, trends, favorites. You sing the lyrics in the shower, driving home with your friends, serenading a lover. But nothing is as real as seeing Rihanna perform live!!! The energy from the audience, the attitude and power that's thrown back off the stage...ah-maz-ing. The peeks and valleys from the soulful serenade of Stay to the sexy shock of S&M it's all new once you hear it live! One of my favorite things about going to a show is not only the excitement building up to it, buying the tickets then getting my bracelet and going in. That's just the beginning. I love more than anything, after seeing a great show and I'm back at home listening to the music, remembering where I was, who I was with, how I felt, what I saw and how much fun we were having when we were rocking out and suddenly, Rihanna isn't just some celebrity entertainer, she is a part of something bigger and the music is suddenly different, better, more meaningful. I've seen Rihanna a couple of times and every time that girl delivers. Her fans love her, she has attitude and swag that makes her real and sometimes the energy leaves you glowing for days and asking yourself, how long do I have to wait until music makes me feel this high again?

It was a great concert from the begining. DJ Mustard started the show, and it was wery good warm up, people were dancing.

Then after a little break came on the stage Big Sean. That was also powerful performance and we really enjoyed that.

After another break started Rihanna's show. She came from the back of the arena to the little stage above the soundmen. Two slow songs were awesome. Than she walked on steel and glass bridge and sing a song Woo and another one above us. See was so close to us, that was perfect. Then the reast of the show was on the main stage. She sings wery well, but the sound was overbassed, and the singing can't be heared clearly, that was mistake. Also she was'n talk much, she gave us one song after another. But the songs are so great. It was generally songs from the new album Anti, great. The show duration was 90min.

I'm so blessed that I was on the show. I was great. Thank you and hopefully see you RiRi again soon.

Rihanna's Anti World tour concert in MalmĂś was even better than I expected. I have to be honest, I was not a big fan of hers but of course Queen Riri changed that with her beautiful yet slaying personality and amazing voice. The overall experience was fun althought the only thing that was a littlee annoying is the fact that the concert started a little more than an hour later than what it was supposed to. But I mean.. it's Rihanna, she can do whatever. A tips from me would be to either buy the standing tickets as close to the scene as possible or buy the ones that are high up and on the opposite side of the scene. I was up and although it was long away from Riri it was magical to see all the people and the lights and literary everything. If you're hesirating weather you should go or not I would tell you to go go go, because it is such a beautiful and fun experience to have!

In one word - unforgettable.

Rihanna was in rare form. This tour has a more subdued palette than her other tours, as the stage was a blank white, and all of her outfits were in shades of cream, tan, black, and brown. However, there was a special energy in the room that night. Rihanna seemed happy, comfortable, and more in control than she has ever been. She joked with the crowd, engaged with all sides of the arena, and made sure everyone had a good time. Halfway during the concert, she announced that it was party time, and the stage lit up with these cool colored pods that pulsated in different colors. Other highlights include her flying over the audience, a foam machine on stage, and her dancers exciting the crowd in sparkly outfits.

I envy those who are going to see her, and implore those who can still buy tickets to do so!

Rihanna is probably one of the best pop artists at the moment. I've gone to three shows - first in Portugal, in her "Loud" tour; 2nd in London in a small venue for her "777" tour; and the last one in Richmond park, as part of the "Unapolagetic" tour. All of them were incredibly amazing! Her songs put so much energy in the crowd and it's impossible to not get stuck to her dance moves and stage special effects.

From the lights, sceneries, to the outfits - everything is top quality and very sophisticated and original.

You are able to listen to the top hits, and also some medleys from her older stuff. Setlists are wisely chosen, as they keep the crowd excited along the show.

I would definitely go to her next show - it's always a surprise and somewhat different from what she has done until now.

Daaaammmn. I didn't know what to expect, especially since I found myself more excited for the preshow of 'the weeknd'to the Rhianna tour and contemplated selling the tickets after he and Travis Scott pulled out. I'm glad I didn't. The show itself made me realise just how many anthems Rhianna has to her name. These sprinkled throwbacks were the most memorable for me throughout the show. The set and lighting combined to give a fab production value over all, in particular the very beginning where Rihanna emerged from behind and took a smaller stage before flying off on a clear platform across to the main stage. Overall I really really enjoyed the show. Wasn't quite one that made me jump and wave my arms around, but one that made me appreciate the talent Rihanna clearly has.

Brace yourselves,  Rihanna  Navy -- the singer has something special coming your way. The GRAMMY winner is planning a world tour for 2024/2025 after striking a deal with Live Nation and has plans to release new music, ET has learned.

It's been a year since Rihanna released her  Oscar-nominated single , "Lift Me Up," from the  Black Panther: Wakanda Forever  soundtrack, which marked the  mom of two 's  first single in six years . Although she's been featured on various songs, the 35-year-old singer hasn't released an album since 2016.

The FENTY Beauty creator has understandably had her hands full with her growing family: she and rapper  A$AP Rocky  welcomed their first child, RZA Athelston Mayers , in May 2022 and  introduced their newest addition  to the world, Riot Rose Mayers , last month.

A source told ET that Rihanna and A$AP are loving life as a family of four. "They've got their hands full," said the source before adding that both parents are incredibly hands-on.

Earlier this year, Rihanna surprised the world with her second pregnancy announcement during the Super Bowl LVII halftime show , a moment that touched the hearts of fans worldwide. A source close to the couple shared, "Rihanna adores being a mom, and it’s her biggest accomplishment in life. She and A$AP have always wanted to grow their family and have another baby together."

Despite their busy careers, Rihanna and A$AP continue to demonstrate unwavering support for each other and their family. "They're so excited to grow their family and are so united when it comes to parenting," the source added at the time. "They have so much fun together and are very in love. They already shared a special connection, and parenting together has made their bond even stronger."

As she settles into her new role raising two boys, it seems Rihanna is ready to bring her musical career back to the forefront. The singer  recently stepped down as the CEO of Savage X Fenty , the lingerie brand she co-owns with LVMH.

"It's been beautiful to see our vision for Savage X Fenty impact the industry at such an incredible magnitude over the last five years," Rihanna, who founded the line in 2018, told Vogue Business   in June. "This is just the beginning for us, and we're going to continue to expand in ways that always connect with the consumer."

While Rihanna still serves as an executive chair for the company, Hillary Super, former CEO of Anthropologie Group, has taken over as CEO, the outlet reported. "I'm so grateful and excited to welcome Hillary Super as our new CEO," Rihanna added. "She is a strong leader and is focused on taking the business to an even higher level."

Fans have been craving more since  Rihanna's halftime performance , and it seems the time has finally come. While it's still a question whether Rihanna will be putting out her long-awaited ninth studio album, fans can take comfort that there will be new music from the singer in the new year.

Rihanna teases new music and world tour: “Let’s just blow everything up”

A new album will mark her first full LP since 2016’s ‘Anti’

Rihanna performs onstage during the 95th Annual Academy Awards at Dolby Theatre on March 12, 2023

Rihanna has teased that there may be new music and world tour on the horizon.

  • READ MORE: Rihanna: every album ranked and rated

The moment came during a new red carpet interview, which saw her asked about when fans can expect to see her return to the stage after taking a hiatus from music.

Speaking with Entertainment Tonight , she hinted that there have always been plans for her to return to performing, but that she would rather wait until she has new music before she commits to a full tour.

“Well we’re always gonna go back on tour,” she told the outlet. “[But] I feel I want to do a tour when there’s new music. We already know what that’s gonna be, with the songs that I’ve performed on my last tour. That was a long time ago.”

“I feel like it’s only fair that my fans get what they’ve been waiting on, which is new music. After that, lets just like, blow everything up,” she continued, potentially suggesting a packed schedule of performances coming in the future.

Rihanna’s last full-length album came in the form of ‘Anti’ – her eighth studio record, which arrived at the beginning of 2016.

She also went on to admit that she felt the release was her “most brilliant album” to date , and that its legacy – along with her perfectionist tendency –has gotten in the way of her releasing her next work.

“I realised that if I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it’s going to keep taking forever and maybe it’ll never come out and no, I’m not down to that,” she explained previously. “So I want to play. And by play, I mean I have my ideas in my head, but I can’t say them out loud yet.”

The Fenty fashion label owner was also reportedly set to go on tour this year, before finding out she and partner A$AP Rocky were expecting their second child, Riot Rose . She is now rumoured to be one of the two female headliners booked to top the bill at the festival in 2024 .

Rihanna’s last release was the 2022 song ‘Lift Me Up’ , the sombre lead single to the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack and a tribute to late actor Chadwick Boseman .

Since the track was shared, Rihanna has gone on to headline the Super Bowl LVI Halftime Show , where she revealed her second pregnancy to the world. Ahead of the performance, she told Associated Press that “Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing,” insinuating she wasn’t releasing music around the time of the performance.

Rihanna’s Rumored 2023 Tour May Be Announced After The Super Bowl Halftime Show

Riri may be coming to a city near you.

MILAN, ITALY - July 13: Barbadian singer and songwriter Rihanna performs live at San Siro Stadium in...

Rihanna’s first performance in over five years may be setting the stage for an upcoming world tour. The “Work” singer is rumored to be embarking on her first world tour in over seven years, since 2016’s Anti Tour, and she might be announcing tour dates and details shortly after her Super Bowl Halftime Show on Feb. 12.

Page Six reported on Feb. 7 that three different sources have heard “rumblings” of tour plans , which were being kept very secret. “There has been a lot of talk among people in the know, especially in the last week or two, that Rihanna is gearing up to announce a tour,” an insider said. “It seems to be more than just hearsay at this point.” The outlet may be onto something, as just days earlier, The Sun also reported that a Riri tour was in the works.

Rihanna announced that she would headline the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime Show in September, immediately causing buzz that a new album would finally follow after nearly seven years of waiting. However, she quelled the speculation that November, telling the Associated Press that the Super Bowl and the release of new music are two separate things that may not intertwine. However, she didn’t say anything about a tour, and wouldn’t it just make sense for tickets to go on sale after she makes her big comeback at the Super Bowl? Here’s everything to know about Riri’s (alleged) 2023 tour.

Rihanna’s Potential 2023 Tour Dates

STOCKHOLM, SWEDEN - JULY 4: Rihanna performs live at Tele2 Arena on July 4, 2015 in Stockholm, Swede...

Given how Rihanna has yet to confirm a world tour is even happening, dates have naturally not been announced yet. However, The Sun reports that Riri will perform in North America in late 2023 before going international next year. “She has her North American dates ready to announce for 2023 after the Super Bowl and it will be a matter of time before European dates are announced for 2024,” the outlet claimed.

In addition, she will reportedly do mini-residencies at arenas in select major cities, like Harry Styles’ 2022 Love On Tour, rather than play larger stadiums or embark on a more extensive arena trek that visits more cities.

Rihanna’s 2023 Tour Tickets

NEW ORLEANS, LA - NOVEMBER 15: Rihanna performs live on the last show of her tour at New Orleans Ar...

Since tour dates have yet to be announced, ticket details are a little ways off — if the tour reports are even true. However, if reports that Rihanna will play arenas in select cities rather than stadiums are accurate, then expect tickets to be an ordeal to get, especially following the Super Bowl. Get those credit cards ready and start praying for a presale code.

After a whirlwind year filled with an epic Super Bowl Halftime , an Oscars performance , an iconic Met Gala appearance , and welcoming her second child with A$AP Rocky, Rihanna is already planning her move for next year. And, yes, that plan includes new music.

Entertainment Tonight reported that the star is releasing new music and has struck a deal with Live Nation for a 2024/2025 world tour. While Rihanna has yet to confirm this information, and there is no official release date, fans can be (cautiously) optimistic that the long-awaited album is coming.

Rihanna's most recent album, Anti, dropped in 2016, though the singer released her first single in six years titled "Lift Me Up" in 2022 as a part of the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack. Earlier this year, Rihanna performed the song, which was nominated for Best Original Song, on stage at the 2023 Oscars.

The businesswoman and mother of two has understandably been focused on raising her and A$AP's two sons. The couple welcomed RZA Athelston Mayers back in May 2022 and then celebrated the arrival of their second son, Riot Rose Mayers, in August. A source previously told People that she is very content with her family at the moment. “Rihanna feels her family is now complete,” the insider told the outlet. “It’s something she’s always wanted."

In terms of her baby-on-the-way (baby being new music), RiRi told British Vogue in February that she was aiming to drop new tunes this year. “I want it to be this year,” she said at the time. “Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”

Though we are nearing the end of the year with no official release date in sight, Rihanna still has over two months to give the people what they want. But, at the end of the day, she can take as long as she needs.

Rihanna New Album: Release Date, Songs And Everything We Know About New Music

23 October 2023, 13:05 | Updated: 9 April 2024, 16:28

Rihanna's new album could be released in 2023

Rihanna has been teasing her new album for years and has finally given fans a glimpse of what to expect from R9 - but could we finally be hearing new music from RiRi in 2024?

Rihanna's last album was 'ANTI' all the way back in 2016, so we kinda deserve brand new music and an album from RiRi, right?

The 'Work' star - who is now a mother of two with her partner A$AP Rocky - finally dropped her first song in six years with 'Lift Me Up' for the Black Panther 2: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, quickly followed by 'Born Again', and fans are now more than ever wishing for a new album from the star.

Following her sit-down with Vogue , the publication confirmed that weeks after their chat one Robyn R. Fenty registered a new song called 'Private Loving' to the music-rights organisation BMI.

It was then reported that Rihanna was sitting on two albums of material and has signed a £32 million deal with Live Nation for a 2024/2025 world tour – claims quickly quashed by industry insiders.

Here are all the details on RiRi's new music, from potential release date to track list, as we've gathered all the clues from over the years...

Rihanna made her return to the stage at the Super Bowl halftime show

Rihanna gives update on new music

Rihanna returned to the stage for the first time in five years to headline the Super Bowl halftime show and absolutely killed it!

On top of that, she announced her second pregnancy as she showcased her baby bump on stage at the start of the performance, giving us all the goosebumps.

Fans had hoped she'd be announcing a new single following the Super Bowl performance, but it's looking like we may have to wait a little longer than anticipated for R9 after she revealed in a new interview that there's no set release date for new music.

Speaking on Good Morning America ahead of her Super Bowl show, Riri said: "They are waiting," acknowledging that her fans are wanting "more", before adding, "I'm excited to actually put new music out but I don't have any updates for you on that yet."

Now RiRi has given birth to her second son Riot Rose and it been revealed that she has a massive Live Nation deal set in place so she can jump back into her music career "when she's ready".

What is the title of Rihanna's new album?

At the moment, Rihanna hasn't revealed the name of her brand new album, but social media has been referring to the project as #R9 as it's going to be Rihanna's ninth studio album.

As fans have referred to it as R9 for so long, the singer is now struggling to think of a more fitting name. In an interview with the New York Times she said: "So far it’s just been R9, thanks to the Navy. I’m about to call it that probably, ’cause they have haunted me with this 'R9, R9, when is R9 coming out?' How will I accept another name after that’s been burned into my skull?"

What's the release date for Rihanna's new album?

We know that Rihanna has been in the studio at various points across the past year, but so far she hasn't confirmed a release date for R9.

Ever since she released her album 'Rated R', Rihanna has mainly released her albums in November, although 'ANTI' was released in January, so we're keeping our fingers crossed that she drops her new album over the next few months.

In her interview with Vogue for their November issue in 2019, Rihanna was quizzed about her next album's release date and she admitted she feared the Navy's reaction after being asked the question.

After grimacing at the question, Rihanna told the journalist: "No, oh my God, they’re gonna  kill  you for that! And they’re going to kill me more! I’m talking the  Navy —my scary fans... But they’ve earned it – They got me here.”

And when she was quizzed by Anna Wintour herself on the release date, she simply said: "Pending" before pretending to hide from the Navy.

Rihanna hasn't released new music since 2016

Which songs will be on Rihanna's new album?

Singer-songwriter DeCarlo, real name Terrence Coles, has been given the 'ok' ahead for two songs he sent to Rihanna and now he’s sharing a hint at what fans can expect from R9.

DeCarlo told Metro.co.uk : “As far as Rihanna goes, nothing is solid until it happens but I’ve definitely been able to work on it.

“Nobody knows when she’s dropping it or exactly what songs she’s cut over the past few years. But just working with a bunch of my friends who are in the industry and being able to create cool songs [was fun]. ‘I think it’s safe to say that Rihanna runs her own ship and whenever she chooses to release she’ll do that.”

Revealing the songs he wrote for the icon, DeCarlo added: “It’s a possibility that two may be able to make it and hopefully so… What I could say is it’s just about love, the universal language… It’s definitely about love and healing. Going through that experience in life whether it’s family, friends and just always trying to heal the love within each other.’”

Rihanna is now a mum of two

Is Rihanna making a 10th album already?

A few years ago, a theory emerged that suggested Rihanna's new album could actually be a double album and if we're being completely honest, that news got us seriously excited.

Reports were rife RiRi has two albums worth of material ready which suggests the comeback with a double album dream could be a reality.

However, the story could have come from the fact Rihanna is actually already planning a tenth album.

During her interview with Vogue for their November issue way back in 2019, RiRi said: "We always went into the music this time around saying that we were going to do two different pieces of art.

"One was gonna be inspired by the music that I grew up listening to. And one was gonna be the evolution of where I’m going next with music.”

Rihanna has been working on her ninth album for quite some time

Will Rihanna's new album be a Reggae album?

Rihanna has also confirmed a Reggae album is in the works on numerous occasions, explaining to Vogue: "I like to look at it as a reggae- inspired  or reggae- infused  album. It’s not gonna be typical of what you know as reggae. But you’re going to feel the elements in all of the tracks."

Asked why she chose reggae to be the base of her album, the 36-year-old added: "Reggae  always  feels right to me. It’s in my blood. It doesn’t matter how far or long removed I am from that culture, or my environment that I grew up in; it never leaves. It’s always the same high. Even though I’ve explored other genres of music, it was time to go back to something that I haven’t really homed in on completely for a body of work.”

In an Instagram post , Rihanna announced that she would be headlining the Super Bowl in 2023. The news immediately sparked excitement that new music or a tour would be coming, since it's common for artists to use the event to promote a big announcement.

Nov. 7, 2022

Super Bowl is one thing. New music is another thing. Do you hear that, fans? The second that I announced this, I said, 'Oh my God, they're going to think my album is coming. I need to get to work. "

Despite this pattern, Rihanna told AP News  that her Super Bowl performance did not necessarily equate to a new album.

In the meantime, we created a playlist with all 12 songs  that she has released since "Anti" — plus a few more of her biggest hits — to help hold you over.

Rihanna Reportedly Embarking on Stadium Tour in 2023

The ‘anti’ artist will also be headlining the 2023 super bowl halftime show..

Rihanna 2023 Stadium Tour Reports super bowl halftime show performance

Rihanna is reportedly set to hit the road for a stadium tour in 2023.

According to HITS Daily Double , the engagement will take place after her Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on February 12, 2023. The ANTI artist supposedly returned to the recording studio shortly after the Halftime Show announcement was made, and that her performance “will be used to relaunch her music career” after she took a step back to focus on her Fenty Beauty empire. Rih is rumored to have an album’s worth of unfinished material that remained that way as she supposedly does not want to release underwhelming music that may negatively impact her brand. Her return to music, however, may “maintain her relevancy and help her brand continue to grow.”

After almost four years of work, Rihanna finally dropped Anti on Wednesday. It was first released on Jay Z's Tidal (after briefly leaking).

On the new album, Rihanna takes on new sounds and influences, including the slow, heartbreak ballad "Never Ending," which sounds like British singer Dido's 1998 "Thank You," and a cover of psych-rock band Tame Impala's "New Person, Same Old Mistakes."

"Ultimately, Anti 's sound is more than just another new costume for a singer who's dabbled in everything from flirty teen-pop to aggressive trap over the last decade-plus," Brittany Spanos wrote in Rolling Stone 's review of the album published Monday. "This is an album that forces us to question the boxes we've placed Rihanna in all along."

Travis Kelce Says He's 'Gotta Ask' Taylor Swift About Her 2012 'Punk'd' Episode With Justin Bieber

Trending on billboard.

While promoters like Live Nation, or their competitive rival AEG, would be more than happy to book and a promote a global Rihanna tour, the source says “Bitch Better Have My Money” singer hasn’t yet committed to any touring projects for 2024.

As well, Live Nation has not placed any holds on venues for a potential tour. Typically, when a promoter begins booking a tour for a major artist, they will call different venues on the tour route and ask venue bookers to reserve various dates on their calendar to accommodate different routing scenarios for an upcoming tour. If Rihanna and Live Nation were to sign a deal, it would likely take several months to hammer out a potential tour route.

The demand for a Rihanna tour, and new music, is arguably unparalleled. She is one of the most commercially successful artists of all time, with 14 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, a record surpassed only by The Beatles and Mariah Carey . Her last album was 2016’s Anti and her last tour was the one that followed that year. It generated more than $110 million in sales worldwide, and since its final stop in Abu Dhabi on Nov. 27, 2016, she has not performed a commercial concert. She has since only performed three times, including at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2023 and the 2023 Oscars.

She also has a compelling reason not to want to hit the road – in August, she gave birth to her second child Riot Rose, whom she shares with rapper A$AP Rocky . The couple’s oldest son RZA was born in 2022.

Rihanna has reportedly signed an eye-watering ÂŁ32million comeback deal with Live Nation.

Yep. You read that right. ÂŁ32million. Mind. Blown.

The superstar singer, 35, is said to be planning a ‘major’ tour spanning 2024 and 2025 and has ‘two albums’ worth of new material to release into the world.

Rihanna, who shares sons Riot Rose, two months, and RZA, 15 months, with rapper A$AP Rocky, has apparently already set her creative team to work and they’re currently cooking up on tour details in LA.

A source said this week: ‘Rihanna is quietly planning a comeback tour after signing with Live Nation.’

They added to the Mirror : ‘The deal was created to facilitate a world tour and her creative team is quietly at work in Los Angeles putting it all together as she raises her family.

‘She’ll press play on the live show once she’s ready to go back to work and has two albums’ worth of material to release once she’s back.’

It’s no surprise Rihanna already has her eyes set on the future, with the A-lister going back to work just one month after confirming she’d welcomed her second child .

In September, the hitmaker, real name Robyn Rihanna Fenty, unveiled Fenty x Puma’s latest collaboration and looked nothing short of glorious in the promotional video.

TMZ  confirmed on August 21 that the A-listers had welcomed another little boy and his name started with an ‘R’ too.

Rihanna and A$AP welcomed their first child, Rza, in May 2022.

Rihanna returns to work after giving birth to second baby AVANTI

The Barbadian singer  announced she was pregnant once more  in truly epic fashion during her Super Bowl LVII Halftime Show performance.

In it, she unzipped her incredible red fur coat to unveil her already blooming baby bump.

After a rep for the star confirmed the news, she gave fans a backstage glimpse of her growing youngster in a picture that showed her cradling her bump before the show.

Just like her pregnancy with RZA, Rihanna  championed her ever-changing body  in a number of stunning outfits that highlighted the beauty of pregnancy.

She bared her gorgeous bump during the  Louis Vuitton After Show  and during a  swanky dinner date in France,  both accompanied by her adoring partner.

Meanwhile, on the music front, if Rihanna does drop a new album next year, it’ll be her first since 2016’s Anti.

Rihanna Is Reportedly Releasing New Music in 2024

preview for Every Time Rihanna Slayed the Red Carpet

Entertainment Tonight reported yesterday that Rihanna is planning to make her musical return next year and has a deal with Live Nation. The outlet learned that she will release new songs and is also planning a world tour for 2024–2025. The exact timeline was not specified, but still: The music is coming, at long last.

Shortly after that report was published, Billboard debunked the tour claim. A “high level” source told Billboard that reports of Rihanna having a multi-year contract with Live Nation are “bogus,” adding, “no tour has been confirmed for Rihanna.” The outlet did not, however, dispute the claim that Rihanna plans to release new music next year.

Rihanna spoke about the state of her music in February. A new album in 2023 was the original goal, she told British Vogue , then she and Rocky announced their second pregnancy.

“I want it to be this year,” she said then. “Like, honestly, it’d be ridiculous if it’s not this year. But I just want to have fun. I just want to make music and make videos.”

While Rihanna admitted that Anti was her “most brilliant album,” she conceded that its legacy and her perfectionist tendency have been getting in the way of her releasing her next work.

“ I realized that if I keep waiting until this feels right and perfect and better, maybe it’s going to keep taking forever and maybe it’ll never come out and no, I’m not down to that,” she said of the upcoming album. “So I want to play. And by play, I mean I have my ideas in my head, but I can’t say them out loud yet.”

Everything we know about Rihanna’s rumoured 2023 UK tour

Fans are convinced that the singer will announce a string of global dates following her Super Bowl halftime show

Amy Houghton

2023 is officially the year of the massive comeback. Queen Bey has announced her  Renaissance W orld Tour , Madonna is celebrating 40 years in music with her first greatest-hits tour and now the rumour mill is buzzing with talk that Rihanna is about to swoop in and complete the holy trinity. What a time to be alive.

The ‘Navy’, as Riri’s fans call themselves, have been waiting for this moment for what feels like aeons. We already know that the singer will be performing for the first time in seven years at her much-hyped Super Bowl performance later this month (Sunday February 12 2023) but many are convinced that a tour will shortly follow. Here’s everything we know so far.

Is Rihanna going on tour in 2023?

Long story short: we don’t know. But apparently we could find out soon, despite the fact that there’s still no confirmed news of an album.

What do we know about Rihanna’s potential tour dates?

It’s thought she will announce her North American dates first and will later confirm a European tour for 2024.

Last time around, her tour spanned 71 dates in cities across the world and included six UK shows, so if she does indeed hit the road this year we might expect something similar. However, an insider source recently told The Sun : ‘Her plan is to set up mini residencies in major cities rather than visit multiple places. She wants her next global outing to be swift and easy as she plans to refocus on Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty after her brief return to music.’

Any news on how to get tickets?

Unfortunately not. But don’t fret, we’re keeping an eye out so you don’t have to.

What’s been said about the tour so far?

Since a tour hasn’t actually been confirmed yet, very little has been said on the matter by those in the music industry. It’s safe to say, though, that fans are in a bit of a frenzy over the whole thing.

When might Rihanna announce the tour?

It’s hoped that an announcement could follow hot on the heels of RiRi’s Super Bowl performance next week.

When was the last time Rihanna went on tour?

She last toured back in 2016 following the release of her album ‘Anti’ . The ‘Diamonds’ singer has not taken to the stage since her 2018 Grammys performance, instead focusing on her fashion and beauty empire, Fenty.

Afrobeats Superstar Davido Talks Headlining Madison Square Garden and Wanting to Work With Rihanna and Jelly Roll

Davido

Afrobeats has been one of the fastest-growing musical genres of the past decade, but if any further evidence were needed that it has reached new peaks, just look at Nigerian singer Davido : Not only was he nominated for the first-ever Best African Music Performance Grammy earlier this year, he’s headlining New York’s Madison Square Garden tonight (April 17).

Popular on Variety

Davido’s 2017 hit single, “Fall,” is often hailed as America’s gateway to modern Afrobeats. The track made its mark on urban and rhythmic stations nationwide, climbing the charts nearly two years after its initial release and securing a spot in the top 20 on both formats. Notably, it garnered attention from Cardi B, who, amidst her soaring success with “Invasion of Privacy,” teased a potential remix.

Fans can expect the high-octane energy Davido brings to his live performances, alongside higher grade of production and storytelling within the setlist. Davido spoke to Variety about his excitement for the show, new music and projects, and even the Cardi B collaboration that almost was.

Where are you calling from?

You performed in L.A. during Grammy Week and were nominated for the African Performance award — how does it feeling seeing the mainstream respond to African music and particularly your music?

I always knew it would happen eventually, you know what I’m saying? I did two years of college in Atlanta. Even then, I used to play Nigerian music in the dorm for my American friends, and they always loved it — like, “What are you playing? That sounds hard” I’m just happy to see everything coming together. I remember in 2016, telling my label, ‘Yo, this is the new sound.’ Every day, we wake up to somebody breaking a record, somebody selling out a show or winning an award. It’s beautiful to see.

A lot of people don’t know that you were born in Atlanta and that you have a huge connection to the hip-hop community. Has Atlanta influenced your music?

I’ve always been the guy to like put people onto African stuff — music, food, clothes, social media, you know what I’m saying? I woudln’t say Atlanta has like influenced my music because I really make African music. But I’d say it’s influenced my style – people say I dress like a rapper [laughs]. I understand both worlds.

It feels like 2017 was when things really started to heat up in the U.S. with African music. When did you feel it with your songs?

“Fall” was like the first time I was like, “Yeah, we are arriving.” Hearing my song on the radio every two hours was crazy! But like I said, we were given the opportunity to be heard.

Speaking of “Fall,” whatever happened with the Cardi B remix that was supposed to happen in 2019?

Shout out to Cardi B, shout out to her for getting on the record. People don’t understand that behind every record there is paperwork. We were on different labels and it was complicated at the time.  But I appreciate her for taking out her time to do that. I believe me and her will work together again… Me and Offset are locked in, man. That’s my brother.

That Atlanta connection again?

Every time! Me, [Young] Thug, Migos, those are my brothers, for real.

Last year you partnered Apple Music to host their Africa Now show , you highlighted Lojay and mentioned that he’s one of the ones that you feel is just going to be up next and have like a moment. What’s your relationship with some of the new African artists?

Music is everlasting. There’s no limit. The smallest person can give you the biggest record of your life. I don’t really look for anything crazy. What I look for is talent. If we can make good music together, I’ll do it. Afrobeats is in great hands.

Headlining Madison Square Garden is a huge moment for any artist. In order to sell out an arena like that, you have to be reaching multiple demographics, right?

What can we expect from this show? You’ve been dancing a lot more – especially with the “Unavailable” dance becoming popular.

Oh, definitely. MSG is going to be the first of a lot of like crazy stuff that we’re trying to do. We’re definitely going to have a storyline — it’s not going to be a concert that you just come to to dance and drink. Trust me, we’re going crazy on production.

I walked past MSG so many times when I was younger. I want to take the subway to the show.

You’ve already collaborated with a lot of top artists — who is still on your wish list?

Rihanna — we were supposed to link up a lot of times, I know it’s going to happen, though. And ya, it’s weird — you’ve heard of Jelly Roll? Yeah. He has some dope music. I like his music.

What else we can expect from you this year?

I’m announcing a full-blown tour soon, I have documentary we’re working on — it’s following me the past three years. I think it’s going to be out this year, maybe next year.

Do you feel any sense of pride or responsibility for helping usher Afrobeats into the mainstream? You were the entry point for a lot of people.

I wouldn’t say responsibility, but I feel like I have the culture on my back, like I have to deliver. I feel like we’re like 60 percent in when it comes to influencing the culture — I think it’s going to get to the level that you see in Latin music. It might not be my generation, it might be the next one. The people that came before me built a foundation for what we are enjoying now.

Rihanna discusses 'cautious' start to dating A$AP Rocky, fears that come with motherhood

rihanna next tour

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky 's relationship was a slow burn from pals to parents.

The Fenty Beauty mogul, 36, opened up about their "cautious" start and the couple's sons RZA Athelston Mayers , 1, and 8-month-old  Riot Rose , in the spring issue of Interview magazine.

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky first met during rehearsals for their joint performance at the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, according to the singer. The "D.M.B." rapper snuck in a backside grab on stage, which sparked early dating rumors.

"My team was worried that I wanted to have his head on a mantle," she recalled. "But I was like, 'Ah, nah.' That's why everybody was like, 'Oh my god. She likes him.'"

The duo remained close but didn't cross lines into dating until 2019, per Rihanna. "We saw fashion the same. We saw creative the same. We ended up in the same circles a lot. And past that, when we grew up, we ended up supporting each other's brands and products and creative all the time," she said.

"We've known each other for a long time. I've seen him in relationships. He's seen me in relationships. We've seen each other outside of relationships. We knew what we’re capable of, and the trouble that we could bring to each other's lives," Rihanna continued, explaining why they waited to date. "We can make or break each other's hearts. And so, we started dating with a lot of caution."

She added: "I just let whatever was supposed to happen, happen. It was just, 'This is a flower. It's either going to die or blossom. But I'm going to let it decide itself.'"

By 2020, Rihanna seemingly knew she and A$AP Rocky "were going to start a family," but said the COVID-19 pandemic made her more confident in their relationship. "Had it not been for COVID, we would've taken a lot more time to get comfortable with each other, to even know that we were ready," she said.

When it came to family planning, the "Work" singer said, "We didn't even really talk about it. There was no denying it. It was the best thing that ever happened to us. It just happened.

"I let God lead and just let go," she said. "When someone sees you completely, and believes in you, and thinks you're worthy of being the mother of their kids, it's a great feeling. I felt the same about him. I knew he would be a great dad."

As far as the future, Rihanna said she's open to more children but is letting her faith take charge. "I don't know what God wants, but I would go for more than two," she said. "I would try for my girl. But of course if it's another boy, it's another boy."

Rihanna and A$AP Rocky share first photos of their newborn baby, Riot Rose

Rihanna revealed her second pregnancy with son Riot Rose during her performance at  the 2023 Super Bowl Halftime show . However, the "Love on the Brain" singer joked that becoming a girl mom is an item that remains on her parental bucket list.

"So far, have daughters," Rihanna told  E! News  at a Fenty x Puma event in December when asked what she doesn't have in her life. "I'm batting at 75% for a boy next time. So, we'll just keep our fingers crossed."

Rihanna discusses fear that comes with motherhood

Speaking to Interview, Rihanna kept it candid about motherhood and the emotions of postpartum.

"The well-being of your kids, you worry about that constantly," she said when asked about her fears. "Nobody warns you that having kids means you’re going to worry every second of your life."

Rihanna also discussed the joy of being a mom, including RZA's first word: "Hey."

"I used to try to get his attention all the time, and I would say, 'Hey, hey, hey.' And one day he said it back to me in the same melody and I kept singing it and he kept following it over and over again," she recalled.

'I loved him differently as a dad': Rihanna gushes about A$AP Rocky's parenting

While her fans in the Navy have been anxiously awaiting new music, her sons are getting a free concert at home.

There favorites are not from her catalogue. "There's 'Penguins Salute.' There's 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star.' Oh my gosh. RZA gets really emotional about that. And now he's really into 'Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes.' 'The Wheels on the Bus' is a favorite from the beginning till now. That's just a classic. It's never going out of style," she said in true mom fashion.

"And oh, the new 'Incy-Wincy Spider.' … Because he thinks I'm going to tickle him when I sing that one. And he has a book about that, so he can put two and two together," Rihanna gushed.

Rihanna

Fans of Rihanna ’s music should not hold their breath for a ninth record anytime soon, it seems, according to a conversation with the singer-turned-mogul in the latest issue of Interview magazine .

The pop sensation, who hasn’t released an album since 2016’s Anti, recently spoke with Interview editor Mel Ottenberg on a wide range of topics, from her marriage to Fenty Beauty to music. On the latter topic, she has no news but that may not be great news for eager fans.

“I don’t have the songs for them yet, she added. “But maybe that’s the key, this time. Maybe the visual ideas are leading me to the songs that I need to make.”

Ottenberg asked the pop star-turned-billionaire mogul if this could signify a rebirth of Rihanna, but she indicated that she can’t say at the moment: “I mean, I can’t tell you. The opps is watching.”

Rihanna stepped away from music in 2017 to launch Fenty Beauty and in 2018, she launched Savage X Fenty , her lingerie brand. She has since come into her own as a businesswoman, and a side effect of her busy schedule on that front, plus having two kids, is that there hasn’t been a new Rihanna album in nearly a decade.

Asked by Ottenberg if she could have predicted this 15 years ago, when her single “Umbrella” was the ubiquitous radio hit and she had more music on the way, she said,  “I wouldn’t have had any idea.”

“The only thing that I knew I wanted, or that I could imagine, was motherhood,” Rihanna continued. “I didn’t know how it would come, but it is the best part of my journey so far. Everything else was a surprise.”

Rihanna Debuts Bangs, Talks Fashion Remorse… And Teases Her 2024 Met Gala Look

By Daniel Rodgers

Everyone is waiting for Rihanna . Yes, to release an album and to make some headline-inspiring paparazzi walk, but also to turn up at her own event. Last night—sporting some fresh bangs—the musician-turned-mogul was no fewer than five hours late to the Tobacco Dock launch of Fenty X Puma ’s latest release: an earthen brown creeper shoe. (This is, of course, the same woman who arrived at the 2023 Met Gala after an actual cockroach, and who schedules her cover interviews to take place at 3:26am .)

Rihanna in London.

And yet this is precisely the kind of megawatt behavior you expect–indeed, want–from Rihanna, who is one of the few celebrities capable of leaving a phalanx of British press willingly withering beneath floodlights. (If religion has taught mankind anything, it is to suffer for your heroes.) But there might also have been a more legitimate reason for Rihanna’s delayed arrival, beyond operating in her own time zone. “I love making music in London,” she told British Vogue on last night’s red carpet. “That’s my favorite thing to do here. It’s weird but I feel like London allows me to invite rediscoveries in myself, like I could do anything. There are no boundaries. I don’t know why, but I’ve always made the best music here, or at least decided what the direction is gonna be for my albums.”

Image may contain Fashion Clothing Footwear Shoe Person Adult Wedding Camera Electronics Accessories and Jewelry

When I ask Rihanna–who is dressed in some outsized tailoring in the same kaolin shade of the Phatty creepers she is here to promote – whether she regrets anything she’s worn on the red carpet, she experiences a sudden jolt of déjà vu. “Why would you put me on the spot like this!” she demands, raising a Balmain Jolie Madame to her face and stifling an awkward laugh. “But, oh my God, it was something similar to this, which is kind of ironic. It was a brown tan suit that we all loved so much, but the day we put it on I was like, ‘Mmm, it’s giving UPS driver,’ and that is not cute. Not for the red carpet anyways.”

Given that creepers are a cornerstone of emo culture, might Rihanna now be plotting an alt-girl aesthetic, in the tradition of just about every other famous person in 2024? “I’m a Pisces,” she says, with an emphatic glance. “We’re always gonna be emo, that literally is the definition of our zodiac sign. I like to put my foot down, draw my boundaries, but I also like to have fun. I like juxtaposition.”

To absolutely no one’s surprise, Rihanna considers the Guo Pei gown she wore to the 2015 Met Gala to be among her proudest fashion accomplishments. “Nobody will ever forget that and I will never forget the feeling of discovering that designer based off of the design challenge that Anna gave me,” she says. “And damn! You know what, no one would ever expect this, but there’s also the Stella McCartney crop top and skirt, and the party dress that she made me for that same [Met Gala] with my little ass crack out.”

Even less surprising, when it comes to her look for the upcoming 2024 Met Gala, Rihanna says: “I’m gonna wear Fenty something! Fenty Beauty, Fenty Skin, Fenty Savage…” It will, however, be demure. “I’ve done so much sh** in my life. I’ve had my nipples out, my panties out. But now, those are the things which, I guess as a mum and an evolved young lady–emphasis on young– there are things I feel like I would never do. Like, ‘Oh my God, I really did that? Nips out?’”

Is Nothing Sacred? Rihanna Has Changed Her Iconic Profile Photo

Portrait of Tom Smyth

In a devastating blow to tradition and all that we hold near and dear, Rihanna has changed her profile picture on Instagram. No longer is it the beloved and iconically simple stick figure doodle that we have all come to know and love over the many years it’s represented @badgalriri . Instead the doodle, which dates back to 2014 , has been replaced with a Fenty Beauty product that matches the official brand account ’s profile picture. But unlike the brand’s photo, the hand holding the product for Rihanna ’s pic is still a doodle — giving us hope that the drawing lives on. Nonetheless, fans are mourning the loss of a picture that has been in our lives for so long and adjusting to the prospect of a life without it. Here are some of the best tributes and reactions to this devastating loss.
